Against the Denver defense, that kind of funneling to two veterans is just not very appealing, even if Deebo could see a ton of playing time.

Negative signalMatchup

Samuel a sit vs. Denver despite volume; too reliant on Kittle.

Samuel is a sit in Week 4 vs. Denver despite injuries to Ricky Pearsall, De'Zhaun Stribling, and Mike Evans; with Evans likely out, the 49ers passing game will be overly reliant on tight end George Kittle and Samuel, and funneling targets to just two veterans against Denver's defense is not appealing.
