Lance ranks 2nd worst QB pick this century; 49ers spent 3 first-round picks for 4 starts.

Lance is ranked the 2nd worst QB draft pick this century by the source. He started 4 games for the San Francisco 49ers after the team spent 3 first-round picks to move up to the 3rd overall pick to select him. The source identifies Lance as the worst of the four QBs who started 10 or fewer games this century (Lance, McCarthy, Lynch, Manziel) because of the extraordinary capital investment—three first-round picks—despite Brock Purdy's subsequent success saving the franchise.
