"Brock Purdy is playing as well as anybody. [He] should be considered in the tier-one QB discussions; at least, he is in my eyes." Brady replied to elite question: "It sure looks like it. [He's] playing within the system, throwing the ball accurately, no negative plays, getting his team in and out of the right plays. I love the way that he's managing every single game."

Tom Brady endorses Purdy as tier-one elite QB after 3-0 start and elite metrics.

Tom Brady, speaking for Fox Sports in a power rankings segment, declared Purdy tier-one elite after the 49ers' 3-0 start in 2026. Brady stated Purdy "is playing as well as anybody" and "should be considered in the tier-one QB discussions," citing his accuracy, system mastery, no negative plays, and game management. Brady affirmed Purdy can now be deemed 'elite,' saying "It sure looks like it." This represents a significant endorsement from the greatest quarterback to play the game, though Brady noted the assessment may face scrutiny pending Purdy's performance against Denver's vaunted defense and Seattle's fearsome defensive front in the coming weeks.
