Herbert looks lost and confused in Mike McDaniel's new offense; the scheme requires quick reactions and fast releases, but Herbert has spent his career throwing deep and relying on play action. An NFL evaluator told ESPN's Dan Graziano that everything looks "difficult and exhausting" for the quarterback, and Graziano wrote that Herbert "has looked confused and overwhelmed by whatever it is he's being asked to do out there." The personnel doesn't fit what the offense is built to do.
