Michael Carter II and Marcus Epps have been in a competition for the starting safety position that has now turned into a rotation through Week 3. Carter II played 20 snaps against the Bears in Week 3, and Vic Fangio indicated the rotation will continue. Fangio stated his goal is for one of them to eventually settle into the role, but that hasn't happened yet.
