Nix completed 25-of-42 passes for 214 yards (5.1 yards per attempt) with a touchdown and no turnovers as Denver's run game mustered just 3.7 yards per carry en route to 82 yards on the ground. Against a strong 49ers defense, it added up to an inefficient effort.

Nix's inefficient 5.1 YPA and failed comeback bid raise pressure on first-year play-caller.

Nix and the Broncos fell short of another comeback Sunday, completing 25-of-42 passes for 214 yards (5.1 yards per attempt) with one touchdown and no turnovers in an inefficient effort against Denver's strong 49ers defense. The Broncos' reliance on late-game comebacks—14 since the start of last season—proved unsustainable against a top opponent, and the loss puts Denver two games behind the 4-0 Chiefs in the AFC West and one game behind the 3-1 Raiders.
