Nix limited downfield vs. 49ers; Payton praises pocket mobility and route feel

QB Bo Nix's downfield passing was limited by the 49ers defense in Week 4. Head coach Sean Payton noted the 49ers 'did a pretty good job of staying on top of some of the deeper throws' and the team felt they 'could have taken a little bit more advantage' of underneath yardage in different ways. Payton assessed Nix's mechanics positively: he is 'real good when he flushes out of the pocket,' has good understanding of drop depth relative to route depth, and understands what routes should 'feel like and look like' whether in shotgun or under center.
