2025 fifth-round pick released by Cowboys after disappointing preseason performance. Blue entered camp with legitimate expectations of competing for the RB2 role behind Javonte Williams, but his rookie season was underwhelming as he spent most of 2025 on the bench. In the 2026 preseason, despite showing flashes of speed and explosiveness, Blue finished with 23 carries for 94 yards (4.1 yards per carry) and two receptions for 15 yards, with no touchdowns and no defining moment to secure his roster spot. Dallas chose to claim Emari Demercado off waivers instead. Blue was subsequently signed to the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad as a developmental change-of-pace and receiving option.

A 2025 fifth-round pick (No. 149 overall) by the Dallas Cowboys, Blue played just 78 offensive snaps as a rookie, logging 38 carries for 129 yards (3.4 average) and one touchdown, plus one target for five yards. During the 2026 preseason, he produced 94 rushing yards on 23 attempts (4.1 average) and two catches for 15 yards. The Cowboys waived him while keeping only two running backs plus one fullback on their roster before claiming Emari Demercado off waivers from Kansas City as their RB3. The Eagles hosted Blue on a pre-draft visit last year and now add him to the practice squad to develop behind Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, and Will Shipley on the active roster. Lance Zierlein's scouting report characterized him as a narrow-hipped, linear runner with good speed to threaten wide and attack downfield out of the backfield; he has adequate wiggle in the open field but lacks base strength to break tackles, and his real value will revolve around his ability to mismatch linebackers and threaten defenses as a receiver out of the backfield.

Blue's Cowboys tenure has been disappointing to this point. After playing in just five games during his rookie year, he was expected to take a step forward and cement himself as Dallas' RB2 in Oxnard, but that has not happened. While he has shown some flashes during camp, Blue has struggled with consistency, and his fumbling habits have reared their ugly head once again. In Dallas' first preseason game against Seattle, Blue got the most carries of any Cowboys running back but was not productive, recording just 19 yards on eight carries (2.4 Y/A).
