0:00second game of the season and the fourth injury announcement that we have. We'll talk about Deshan Striveling and the impact it has with Debo Samuel and we'll
0:10update all of our rankings and you can scream at me about how much of an overreaction this is. In my opinion,
0:15it's not. But let's go ahead and let's talk about the Niners now with San Francisco. What I was fading in today's
0:22game, I was going up against George KD.
0:25Now, luckily, we'll get to KD in a second. We'll get to KD in a second.
0:29First off, great game from Brock Party, right? Really tough matchup. You travel across the world if you are Party. You go up against the Rams defense. They
0:38have Miles Garrett. They have McDuffy. I mean, of course, they didn't have Aaron Donald in this game, but um this is a
0:44really good Rams team. This is a really good defense. And Brock Party lost Deon Shribbling at the very beginning of the
0:50game. Christian Kirk obviously on the IR before the season even gets here. Ricky Pierrell on the IR before the season even gets here. And with a limited
0:57amount of weapons, Brock Party, um, a phenomenal fantasy football stat line. I had him too low in my rankings this week. And honestly, dude just looks
1:06phenomenal. Right now, you can say a lot of this is Kyle Shanahan, blah blah blah. Um, frankly, it doesn't matter too
1:12much of whether you want to say it's Shanahan or Pertie. Fact of the matter is, he played incredibly well. And if I
1:17look at my rest of season rankings for Brock Party, I mean, I have them in this big tier of quarterbacks that I would
1:23say you play them based on matchup, right? We got Perty here at 13, Dart at 12, Mahomes at 11, Lawrence at 10. Hell,
1:30if you wanted to move Perty up a couple spots, given the fact that he just played incredibly well in a really tough
1:36game environment, you can do you. But I don't necessarily think we need to jack him up that that much higher because
1:43while he did have a couple really nice runs in today's game, it's not like he has the same rushing upside that we're
1:48going to get with some of those other quarterbacks like Drake May or Caleb Williams. Now, incredible game from Brock Party. Going over to the running
1:54backs now. Y'all are going to make fun of me from this and I'm prepared for it.
1:59CMC comes through and he scores about 13.8 fantasy points.
2:04McAffrey 10 carries. Kalin Black 14 carries. McCaffrey had some really good runs in the second half and obviously he is still a phenomenal receiving threat.
2:14CMC had eight targets out of this backfield.
2:18But here's something we have to be on the lookout for. We cannot ignore. I I don't think you can watch week one and
2:24then just close your eyes and say it's only one week. It doesn't matter.
2:29Every season we have seen from while he has been a niner except the first few games they traded for, he has been a
2:35three- down workhorse. Last year he played 79% of the snaps for the San Francisco 49ers, right?
2:43The fact that Kalin Black was out there as much as he was, it is something that should raise a red flag or two. Now, am I going to come out
2:53here and tell you that you need to move McCaffrey down from the running back three in your rankings to the running
3:00back 12? No. I have McCaffrey here at three. But if Jonathan Taylor looks damn good on Sunday, there's a chance that I
3:09flip these running backs because there again, signs are pointing towards right now maybe the McCaffrey workload that we have had in the past may not be the same
3:19this season. He had over 400 touches last year and on top of this, he's in his 30s. it probably would be smart for
3:27them to use him a little bit more as a 7030 backfield split instead of an 8020 backfield split. So, um, McAffrey may
3:37not be the number one overall player in fantasy again. Now, he wasn't ranked that way going into today's game. I'm not going
3:45to panic move him down to running back 18, but I do think it's worth pointing out that Kaylin Black had a lot of work.
3:51It wasn't that this was a blowout and Kayn Black had a ton of carries in the second half. No, Kale Black had a ton of
3:56usage in the first half of this game.
3:59So, if we are going over to Black's ranking, here's the deal. He has to skyrocket up for me. Not because you can
4:06ever start him in a game environment in which you have a healthy Christian McCaffrey. Any game that McCaffrey plays in, he's going to be the goal lineback
4:15and a lot of the receiving workload. So, Kaylin Black never is going to be startable with the healthy CMC.
4:21But with that in mind, now that we have the clarity that he is the pure handcuff if McCaffrey were to go down and on top
4:30of that, he looked pretty damn good in this game. Like I would rather have Kayn Black over Alier, Mike Washington, Woody
4:37Marx, Jonah Coleman, Katon Mitchell, Tank Bixsby, Caleb Johnson. He has now proven himself, I'll put Aaron Jones ahead of him, but he has now proven
4:45himself, I'm going to move him to running back 44, that he is a premium handcuffed running back, possibly one of the best handcuffed running backs in the
4:54entire NFL. Now, let's go over to the wide receivers here. Demarcus Robinson had himself a game, right? Demarcus Robinson um goes through with the long
5:03receiving touchdown, had a couple solid grabs. Um if I go through and look at where Demarcus Robinson is in my rankings at the moment, I don't even
5:10have him. I'll go through and add him just so I can pull up his stat log. But here's the deal with Demarcus Robinson.
5:17Very similar to what we talked about Matt Collins last night. This dude has been in the NFL since 2016 and he has
5:23never averaged over seven fantasy points per game. Just because Deshawn Stribbling went down and just because he had a good game does not mean you should
5:31pick him up. He is not worth your roster spot. Leave him there. Going over to Mike Evans. Mike Evans look damn good.
5:38Mike Evans and Debo Samuel almost identical stat lines. Both wide receivers had seven targets. And on top of that, both wide receivers had six
5:46receptions, a receiving touchdown, 48 and 49 receiving yards, respectively.
5:51Now, the concern that you had, at least I had with Mike Evans coming into the season was the fact that he essentially
5:57missed all training camp. He popped up on the injury report with like four, five, six different injuries. I mean, it is concerning for a receiver that has
6:06missed this much time in recent years to be popping up on the injury report the way that he was, right? Because we go
6:13through and look at recent seasons and with Mike Evans, um, last year he had 388 receiving yards due to injuries, right? The year prior he barely got to
6:24his thousand yard mark. He had missed a considerable amount of time and also he is in his 30s. But what we were told
6:31before this game when they were doing all their press conferences is Mike Evans came out and he said, "You know what?
6:37If it was a game week, I would have practiced.
6:41I'm old. I've done over a thousand football practices in my career. I didn't need to be out there." That's what he said. And very clearly the way
6:49that he looked this game, I believe him.
6:52Like at this point, I have Jameson Williams on my fantasy team and S has Mike Evans. If Sal offered me Mike Evans
7:00for Jameson Williams, I'd probably do the deal. Like I think Mike Evans probably has to move to the very top of
7:06this tier. He looked damn good. And the Deshawn dribbling injury now makes it as well where they're really going to need
7:12them cuz um going over to Debo Samuel.
7:15Debo Samuel, we're going to be moving up in a dramatic way as well. I mean, I've already was tinkering with these
7:19rankings during the Flock League live stream, but um Adbo Samuel phenomenal stat line. He looked really good. And again, going back to it, Pierce allowed
7:27for the season. Christian Kirk on the short term. IR probably we're never going to see Kirk. We're never going to see Kirk make a big a difference. Let's
7:33say that. And then also on top of this, I'm assuming Dean Stribbling's out for the year at this point.
7:40Like going through and looking at this, it was immediately a concern for a torn Achilles. Like the craziest thing ever.
7:47um when he first went off the field before anybody was talking about an injury, Rome in the flock league live stream came out and he said um Deson
7:57Shribling just hurt his Achilles. Desan Shribly just hobbled off non-cont and Rome was spazzing about it. Then he went back out on the field. We were all
8:06making fun of him. And then two plays later, he goes down with the non-cont.
8:11He can't put any weight on it. They take him to the sideline. They put him in the tent. They take the shoe off. He gets
8:17carded off at this point. I think Dejon shribbling it's over. It's done. Again, I don't want to overreact. Um
8:28maybe it is just a ankle sprain. Maybe it is an ankle sprain. Maybe this is an Ash and Genty situation where they did
8:33the prayer circle and we overreacted and we said sky is falling down blah blah blah and it was all okay.
8:39But I don't think we see Dean shribling this year.
8:46That's my read on it.
8:48It sucks.
8:50I mean, a lot of people came out and they planted their flag whether Deshawn Shribling was phenomenal, whether Deshan Shiblings, we're never going to know the
8:57answer.
8:59You have to feel so damn bad for somebody who works their entire life, works their ass off, finally gets to the
9:05highest level, the NFL, and they don't even get a chance to show it. So, wishing the best of luck to Deshawn
9:11Troubling next year, but this year it's not looking good. I'm moving Debo Samuel up to a range in which I think you could
9:18very easily consider him starting him weekly. He's in the tier of Jordan Addison, Quinton Johnson, Mai Lemon, Mel Pitman, Debo Samuel, Courtland Sutton to
9:28the point where if we are looking at um a 10 team two receiver, one flex league, you're probably never starting any of
9:34these guys in that shallow of a format.
9:37But like in I don't know the flock league where it's a 12 team double flex full PPR. Debo Samuel's probably going to get started
9:45next week, right? Debo Samuel 100% looks like he is going to be viable. Now lastly going over to George KD. George
9:54KD was out on the field from the very jump. Like I had to play against KD in the flock league. Um Avery decided to go
10:01ahead throw him out there his first game back from the torn Achilles and projections really did like George KD this week. Very similar to Mike Evans,
10:08right? All the talk from the coaching staff, from the media coming into this game, they were saying, "Hey, KD's good to go. Hey, Evans is good to go. Don't
10:17worry about him." KD comes, he was out on the field a decent bit, but at the same time, he does absolutely nothing.
10:2412 receiving yards, um, two receptions off of five targets.
10:29Previously, I had George KD tightened nine in my rankings.
10:34I'm going to be honest, I'm not going to move KD dramatically as here's the deal.
10:38One, Desan's dribbling, in my assumption, being out for the season now all of a sudden actually makes George KD more needed as the receiving option in
10:47this offense. And at the same time, on top of that, like it was his first game back from a tour in Achilles. Everybody, including
10:56myself, should have known. Of course, he's going to start off slowly.
11:01And the game was on the other side of the planet. So, I'm not going to move George KD down my rankings at all.
11:06Again, I stand by. I think you should prefer Pitts. I think you should prefer Fannon, Leaporta, Craft, all those guys.
11:12But um bad game from KD, but it was kind of should have been the expectation that it was going to be a bad game from KD.
11:19Now, let's go over to maybe the more exciting offense to discuss, and that is going to be the Los Angeles Rams. Now,
11:27again, if y'all are watching the Flock League, y'all know that what I was rooting against is I was rooting against Devonte Adams. I had to play against
11:37Devonte Adams this week. We'll get to him in one second. Looking at Matthew Stafford, he looked like garbage.
11:45Straight up. Not because he scored no fantasy points, but because he just looked bad. There were open throws that he missed. Obviously, the fumble at the
11:56one yard line was absolutely brutal. Um, I can actually go through and pull up our flock league matchup real quick. Um,
12:04for Rome, the funniest thing ever was in that live stream, we all thought that Matthew Stafford had the one-yard rushing touchdown, right?
12:13We thought Rome add six points and then all of a sudden we learned, oh no, it was a fumble and it was a minus8 point
12:20swing. Literally insane. But regardless, after today's game, the Roman Empire is now sitting because he has Matthew Stafford
12:31with seven fantasy points.
12:35Got five from Stafford, zero from Dean Shribbling, and two from the Rams DST.
12:41This is an all-time bad performance for a debut in the Flock League.
12:45Unbelievable.
12:47And again, Stafford looked straight up bad. It wasn't just, oh, he got unlucky, or oh, um, Devonte Adams bobbled the ball and landed in the defensive back's
12:57hands and that's why he had the interception. Now, he missed open passes, fumbled at the one yard line.
13:03Now, in terms of where we are ranking Stafford coming into this, despite Stafford being a top three quarterback in fantasy last year, and despite him
13:10being the MVP, we still had him down here as like the QB 16. As the thing with Stafford is he's not going to run the ball at all.
13:19So, he's either going to lead the NFL in passing yards and passing touchdowns, and then he'll be viable in fantasy, or
13:25he's not. Now, am I going to sit here and say it's all over for Stafford, he has no shot to bounce back? No. It's
13:31opening day game across the on the other side of the world.
13:36I I'll give the man a break, but maybe it's fair if I move Goff ahead of him because Goff has a very similar profile.
13:43Goff, very similar. not going to have the rushing upside, but you're essentially banking that maybe he leads the NFL in passing and that's how he
13:50become viable in fantasy just like Matthew Stafford. Now going over to the running back usage, Blake Cororm looked really good. The vast majority of Blake
13:59Corum touches, especially at the beginning of the game, he looked electric. He looked dynamic. He was getting involved early. And while yes,
14:06Kairen Williams did have a rushing touchdown, Blake Corm, I believe, did get a carry inside the 5 yardd line.
14:12Like it's not like they got to the goal line and they immediately said, "Okay, um get Kiran off the field or I'm sorry, get Corum off the field.
14:24We need Kron in there." They did not say that. Whoever was on the field, they let stay in. So I am a little concerned for
14:30Kirn Williams at this point based on the Blake Cororm usage. Now, of course, um I will also point out Karen Williams had a
14:36phenomenal day for fantasy. scored the rushing touchdown. At the same time, he had the nine total fantasy points from his rushing yards, receiving yards, and
14:44receptions. So, Kyron Williams had himself a phenomenal game. But at the same time, are we going and actually we just got
14:54super interesting information here. We may have to circle back on the NerS.
15:02Stribbling has an ankle injury, not an Achilles. This is absolutely massive. My assumption of scribbling with the Achilles was completely wrong. Let me
15:11see the latest report that we have here.
15:18Let me see if did that come from Sheffy.
15:23Yeah, the latest Sheffy tweet reads, "Wide receivers, I mean 49ers wide receiver Deson Stribbling had an ankle
15:32injury per Kyle Shanahan who added the rookie Achilles was intact."
15:39Phenomenal news for Deon Stribbling.
15:41Now, I'll go adjust him in my rankings, blah blah blah. I'm still going to assume that he's missing a considerable amount of time. And maybe if you want to
15:48move Debo down a spot or two, you do that. But great news for Deshan Stribbling. Hopefully we get to see him
15:54later in the year. Again, my base expectation would be based on how devastating that injury looked. I don't think we see him anytime soon. But still
16:02great news that it seems like if it is an ankle and the Achilles is intact, damn good chance we see him this season,
16:08which is really, really strong. I mean, really way better than I thought it was literally five minutes ago. Now anyway, going over the running backs again,
16:18Kairen still on himself a good fantasy day, but Blake Corm clearly proved that he is going to work in to this
16:23backfield. If I look at my Kairen ranking, I previously had Kairen Williams right inside that same tier with Bree Love, Javvante.
16:35I know y'all may hate me saying this. I may rather have Javvante over Kairen based on the Blake Cororb usage. Again,
16:41Kairen almost stays exactly the same.
16:46But uh where did I have Cororm coming into this? I had Cororm running back 32. I don't necessarily think I move Cororm up
16:54that much either because here's the deal with the running backs. Blake Cororm, we've never seen him really get used as a receiver. So Kairen's going to get the
17:01receiving usage. So I still definitely prefer Kairen Williams. Still definitely think Kiran is the lead back and the most valuable running back. But I think
17:08maybe we can use this as a tiebreaker where I could say I probably prefer Javvante Williams. And is something to monitor. Now going over to the
17:15receivers, Puka Nakua looked really good. Made highlight grabs. Obviously the stat line at the end of the day with only 12 fantasy points is not why you
17:24drafted Puka at the 104.
17:31You're hoping for more than this, but considering the offense completely fell apart, he did what he could. Nine targets,
17:40clear target hog. Didn't skip a beat.
17:44Again, I think at this point, the suspension risk non-existent. The injury risk non-existent. So, I'm not going to touch Puka at all in my rankings. Puka
17:55was the wide receiver too before this.
17:56He's going to remain the wide receiver too after this. If Stafford is another really, really bad game we can re-evaluate, but this game was played on
18:04the other side of the planet. So, I'm going to give Stafford the benefit of the doubt, of course. Now, going over to
18:10Devonte Adams, maybe this is me being a hypocrite, right? Because I'm going to go through and say like, "Oh, Pukanukua played fine. Um, give Matthew Stafford
18:18the benefit of the doubt." And I went up against Devonte Adams in the Flock League this week. So, maybe it's just me
18:24wanting to root against him. But, um, I am way more concerned about Devonte Adams than any other wider, any other player in this Rams offense to be
18:33honest. Like if I have to move somebody down by rankings, I feel like it is Devonte Adams. What was the worst thing
18:40about Adams is when they got to the goal line, when they got to the red zone, he wasn't on the field. He played like one
18:47snap inside the 5 yard line.
18:52So, I don't know. Older wide receiver drafted in 2014, right? This is about the time that you maybe have to be
19:00concerned about a fall-off happening.
19:02Devonte Adams turns 34 years old in December. And there were a lot of rumors about two things this off seasonason.
19:10One, the Rams drafting Mai Limit in the NFL draft ended up not happening. But two, the Rams trading away Devonte Adams. That also ended up not happening.
19:19But where there's smoke, there's fire.
19:24So I I thought Adams looked bad. I thought his usage was concerning. for a 34 year old wide receiver. It's not
19:32great. Now again, game was played on the other side of the planet and Matthew Stafford was a bum. So might have moved
19:39Devonte Adams down at wide receiver 30 next to Carnell Tate. No. But I think it is fair for me to say like hell if I was
19:47offered DJ Moore for him right now, I would rather have DJ Moore.
19:52If I was offered AJ Brown, I may rather have AJ Brown. I don't know. So, I'm going to move Devonte Adams down to wide
19:59receiver 26. He's going to remain in the same tier. We will re-evaluate what happens next week. But again, while y'all know I really want to adjust our
20:08priors and really want to see what we can learn from these games, the game in Australia is maybe going to be a little
20:15bit less valuable than a game played in America. Now, going over to the tight ends, they use so many tight ends, none
20:20of them are startable. I know Terrence Ferguson was the guy people were excited about coming into this one, but um Terren Ferguson, cut him if you have
20:27him. Like going through and looking at my tight end rankings, I had him tight in 21 in my rest of season ranks. Like
20:35I'd cut them for Michael Bayer. I'd cut them for Ronda Gassin just to see what these guys have. So, um yeah, the Rams
20:41tight ends look god awful. I wouldn't roster any of them just because they're going to use so many. And this was a
20:46game that their second round pick, Max Cla, wasn't even active in.
20:50But I think that's all I got. Again, very happy to hear this was not a season ending injury.
21:00If you would have asked me 10 minutes ago, I would have said, "Rest in peace.
21:03GG's, it's over." Which again, um, phenomenal news for a young, exciting rookie. We still get to see him. Don't get me wrong, don't plan on playing him
21:14anytime soon. And realistically, he's probably not making a difference in fantasy football this year. But good for Niners fans, good for Deshun Stribbling
21:22himself. And yeah, I think Debo is now startable.
21:27Mike Evans, injury concerns completely go away.
21:32Slight red flag with McCaffrey. Monitor it in week two. And then the Rams, I want to excuse a lot of it away because
21:39again, while Stafford looked old, he looked washed, he looked horrible, he won the MVP last year and this game was played in Australia. So, we're going to
21:47take a little bit of a chill pill there.
21:48But I think that's all I got for you. I really appreciate you. And yeah, um, let me see if we have anything else. I don't
21:58think so. I will be live tomorrow answering all your fantasy football questions. I'll be live the next day answering all your fantasy football
22:07questions. Live the day after that answering all your fantasy football questions. I'm going to be live every single day until Christmas answering
22:15your fantasy questions. So, if you somehow have not already, make sure you subscribe to the channel and hit the bell next to the subscribe button. That
22:22way, you know when we go live. But much love, ladies and gentlemen. I really appreciate you and I'll see you out in
22:28the live
