Michael Wilson

PositiveValue0:00

Michael Wilson is WR9 in usage and expected points per game but only WR25 in production; those numbers should converge to finish around WR15 on the season. If acquired for a low-end WR2 price tag, he represents high-end mid-tier WR2 value. Over a six-game sample without Marvin Harrison Jr., Wilson averaged 23 PPR points per game on 12.5 targets per game, primarily with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback. Ron Stewart prefers Wilson straight up over DJ Moore in trade discussions and would package him with mid-tier running backs like Jaylen Warren or Chuba Hubbard to acquire higher-tier talent. While Wilson had a dud against Detroit (4 catches, 30 yards, 7 PPR points) despite being consensus top-12 receiver for that week following Harrison Jr.'s trade, Stewart characterizes the Harrison Jr. trade impact as marginal for Wilson's fantasy outlook.

0:00Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison Jr. gets
0:01traded, he's inactive on game day, they
0:03get a match up against the Detroit
0:05Lions. It is wheels all the way up, top
0:0712 receiver by consensus on the week.
0:09And he comes out here and has a dud.
0:12Four catches, 30 yards. So, he gave you
0:13seven PPR points. He had 30 targets the
0:16previous two weeks combined. Now, you're
0:18kind of seeing this narrative online
0:20that Marvin Harrison Jr. cleared things
0:21out down field to open up stuff
0:23underneath for Michael Wilson. And while
0:24that's true, I think it's kind of
0:26marginal. The whole story of last season
0:29was the sample without Marvin Harrison
0:31Jr. This six-game sample includes the
0:33week five dud Michael Wilson had against
0:36Detroit. He's averaging 23 points per
0:38game on 12 and 1/2 targets per game over
0:40that stretch. I'm pretty sure all of it
0:42was with Jacoby Brissett. I just think
0:43we're kind of overthinking it for saying
0:45Marvin Harrison Jr. leaving is a bad
0:46thing for Michael Wilson. I think that
0:47it's a wash regardless. This is somebody
0:49who is the wide receiver nine on the
0:51year in usage in terms of volume, in
0:52terms of expected points per game, but
0:54only the wide receiver 25 in production.
0:56I think those numbers are going to come
0:58together and he's going to end the
0:59season somewhere around the wide
1:00receiver 15. So, if you can buy him for
1:02like a low-end wide receiver two price
1:04tag, he's more of a high-end mid-tier
1:06wide receiver two. What does Michael
1:07Wilson go for on the open market? So, DJ
1:10Moore and Michael Wilson, I would take
1:12Michael Wilson straight up, but I don't
1:13love these like one-for-one style deals.
1:15But, I do Parker. Man, if Breece was
1:18healthy, if this was instead of this was
1:20like Jaylen Warren, I love Parker. Do
1:22not get me wrong, I love Parker. But, if
1:24you needed to tear down from Parker, I
1:26would do this. I would do Michael Wilson
1:28like Jaylen Warren, Chuba Hubbard, uh
1:29some of them like that.
