Robinson thrived in a subpar offensive environment last year by racking up more targets, catches, and yards than any running back not named McCaffrey. His pass-catching numbers were juiced by a historic number of wide receiver routes; he ran 157 routes from the slot or out wide and caught 40 passes from those alignments (fourth-most receiver routes for an RB over the past decade, second-most receptions). He was targeted on 32 percent of his wide receiver routes compared to 17 percent of his backfield routes. With Kevin Stefanski now as head coach, there's no guarantee Robinson remains as involved in the passing game. The Browns last year had just 63 receiver routes from all running backs combined, and Stefanski has not been all that interested in throwing to his running backs; in his six years as Cleveland's head coach, the team finished above-average in total running back targets just once. Atlanta has the sixth-lowest win total of the season, so Robinson could slide down the RB ranks if Stefanski isn't committed to keeping him as a focal point of the passing game.

Robinson ceded 143 carries and 14 catches to Tyler Allgeier last year, but the distribution matters more than the raw number. Allgeier ran 31 times in the red zone and seven times at the goal line versus Robinson's 32 and seven attempts. Robinson gave away 40 expected fantasy points and 50.6 actual PPR points in the red zone. With Allgeier gone and replaced by Brian Robinson Jr., who was out-carried 71-10 by Christian McCaffrey in the red zone last year, Bijan should reclaim red zone volume. This red zone usage shift is the difference between Robinson being a great pick and him challenging McCaffrey for the RB1 overall crown.

Robinson has a legitimate case to be the No. 1 overall pick in all formats, as his elite rushing ability coupled with his ability in the passing game makes him the next closest thing to Jahmyr Gibbs. Robinson finished as the overall RB2 in fantasy points per game last season (22.2 PPG) and ranked second among all RBs in total opportunities (389). Tyler Allgeier, who vulturing nine touchdowns from Robinson in the red zone since 2023, is now in Arizona. While newly added RB2 Brian Robinson could serve as the newest TD vulture, the hope is Bijan Robinson will see a few more touches in the most valuable areas of the field.
