Blake Corum

PositiveProjection0:15

Corum showed strong efficiency as a runner for the Rams in 2025 and is catching up to Williams on the ground, with potential to eventually take over more of the backfield role.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:17

Corum is appropriately priced as RB3 in dynasty; he had a substantially better breakaway rate than Williams last year but Williams still had better yards created after contact.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:17

Corum's path to RB2 status this year or next year seems far-fetched; if Kyron goes down he becomes an RB2, but betting on injury is not ideal, and his long-term outlook is concerning with potential Rams offense changes.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeProjection0:02

Hubbard ranked 43rd out of 48 qualifying running backs in rushing yards over expected last year, indicating efficiency issues beyond just offensive line problems, and was RB57 in PPR points per game from week 8 onward.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:05

Analyst is trying to move down from Chuba Hubbard in dynasty, considering trades to players like Jalen Warren or Rico Dowdle with additional assets, due to concerns about his efficiency and ceiling.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

PositiveRole0:20

Dobbins was the primary one-to-two down grinder for the Broncos before Coleman's arrival, but the backfield is now becoming more complicated with three potential contributors.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:21

At current prices, Dobbins is the most interesting option in the Broncos backfield if he can stay healthy for 13 games, as he has consistently looked good when playing.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveRole0:27

Warren was a two-down grinder for the Panthers in 2025 while still active in the passing game, but less so than in prior years due to Kenneth Gainwell's presence, and his role may change with Dowdle's arrival.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:28

Warren averaged 3.8 targets per game in the two seasons prior to last year but dropped to 2.8 targets per game with Gainwell's addition, suggesting he could see increased passing game usage with Dowdle in the backfield.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:29

Warren had only one pressure allowed in all of his pass blocking snaps last year, making him a safer option for Aaron Rodgers and potentially earning him closer to a 60-40 snap share over Dowdle.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:30

Warren is liked at his current price point and could be closer to a 60-40 snap share, making him a good bet to produce at his cost.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:31

The analyst is slightly ahead of market on Warren and traded a future second for him on a dynasty team, believing he could produce and help push for a championship.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:31

With Mike McCarthy as coach, Warren should continue to see pass-catching opportunities as McCarthy and Rudolph had the third highest check-down rate last season.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:32

Warren is ranked ahead of Blake Corum in dynasty rankings.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

PositiveProjection0:20

Coleman is climbing in dynasty ADP as an RB3 in the Broncos backfield, but the backfield is now shaping up as a three-headed monster with unclear role distribution.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:20

Coleman is being brought in by the Broncos for his pass protection and ability to do the little things right, which aligns with Sean Payton's preference for versatile backs in specific situations.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:20

Coleman is praised for his pass protection and doing the little things right, which Sean Payton values, but he's entering a crowded three-headed backfield with Dobbins and Harvey.

Insight page
NegativeValue0:24

Coleman's RB30 dynasty price is wild and overvalued given his day-three draft status and the uncertainty of his role in a crowded backfield.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

PositiveBreakout0:01

Brooks is generating significant offseason hype as reports emerge that he could be the starting running back and contribute heavily in the passing game, with his ADP rising in dynasty leagues.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:03

Brooks represents a pure upside candidate with potential home-run ability in both rushing and passing games if healthy, though back-to-back ACL injuries create uncertainty about his return to form.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:04

Brooks' ADP in dynasty startup leagues varies from RB33-41 depending on platform, and he can still be found at reasonable prices in some leagues, though early offseason prices were cheaper.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

PositiveProjection0:15

Williams is universally ranked RB16 in dynasty and had a down fantasy year in 2025, but still maintained value as a player you'd be happy to have on your team.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:16

Williams maintains the primary passing game role with McVay's trust, likely to remain the two-down back with continued pass-catching usage, while Corum had only a 2% target share last year.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:18

Analyst is lower on Kyron Williams than the dynasty marketplace, viewing him as a one-year bet due to uncertainty about his role beyond 2026 with Blake Corum's rise and other Rams offense factors.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:33

Williams is ranked ahead of RJ Harvey in dynasty, with the difference in value being around a second-round pick rather than a first.

Insight page

Nicholas Singleton

NegativeBust0:07

Singleton is being overvalued in dynasty rookie drafts despite being a day three pick from a weak running back class; he struggled with running back instincts at Penn State and was outperformed by Katron Allen in his final college season.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:08

Singleton is consensus RB1 in dynasty ADP for the Titans backfield, but analyst expects limited production in 2026 and questions whether the team will add another running back in 2027, making his RB37-40 price tag outlandish.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:09

Singleton is unlikely to see significant playing time in year one with Pollard and Spears entrenched, and even if both leave, the Titans could draft another running back to pass him on the depth chart.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:26

Singleton's dynasty price is also over the top, but the difference between him and Coleman is that Coleman is on a good offense while Singleton is on an offense that we hope gets good.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:26

If choosing between Singleton and Coleman in dynasty at cost, Singleton is the better pick because both have similar chances at getting opportunities and those opportunities continuing, but Singleton is cheaper.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

PositiveDepth Chart0:02

Dowdle was 16th in rushing yards over expected last year and took over a large portion of the Panthers backfield before the team let him walk in free agency.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:27

Dowdle took over a significant part of the Panthers backfield in free agency and now joins the Steelers to play with former coach Mike McCarthy, but is expected to split the backfield with Jalen Warren.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:29

Dowdle was charged with 12 pressures on 52 pass blocking snaps last season, the third highest raw pressures of any running back, which could lead to Aaron Rodgers preferring Warren on third downs.

Insight page
NegativeValue0:30

Dowdle should be pushed down further from his RB33-35 range to closer to RB40 in dynasty rankings due to his pass protection issues and the likelihood of a split backfield.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:34

Dowdle is ranked ahead of both Nicholas Singleton and Jonah Coleman in dynasty, though the difference is close and may depend on whether you're a contender or rebuilder.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeDepth Chart0:20

Harvey has fallen out of RB2 range in dynasty rankings and is now just outside that tier, with his role becoming less clear after the Broncos added Jonah Coleman.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:21

Harvey struggled with vision and finding the correct holes as a runner in his rookie season, and his second-round draft status doesn't protect him from losing touches to both Dobbins and day-three rookie Coleman.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:23

Harvey finished the season well from a fantasy perspective despite not looking clean as a runner, as he caught passes and got red zone usage after Dobbins went down, but he may have been a player of circumstance.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:32

Harvey is ranked ahead of Blake Corum and has not only the upside of Jonathan Brooks but also already has a sizable role in the backfield.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

PositiveProjection0:07

Pollard burst out at the end of 2025 with an amazing finish to the season after a difficult start, establishing himself as a strong performer in the Titans offense.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

PositiveProjection0:19

Analyst prefers Travis Etienne over Kyron Williams as a one-and-a-half to two-year bet in New Orleans, believing Etienne's role looks better down the road despite similar 2026 outcomes.

0:57Welcome into press coverage. We help you gain an edge in fancy football.
1:01I'm your host as always Wyatt Bertalone with me today.
1:04Returning guest Justin Edwards to talk about some backfields where there could be a little bit of battles happening and how we're going to approach them for dynasty.
1:13Justin, how are you? Fantastic. Freshly recovered after a fantastic weekend.
1:17You and I hit up a golf outing over the weekend and capped it off with SFB down in Cincinnati.
1:23So truly a fantastic weekend. Um, I have been spending the better part of the last 48 hours, uh, drinking water and tea as much as possible.
1:31And now I feel fantastic. It took a couple of days, but I'm back.
1:36Yeah. It's hard to imagine a much better weekend than that, but we've got some running backs to talk about.
1:42So we should jump into it right away. Give the people what they want.
1:46We're going to start off with the Panthers. Chuba Hubbard, Jonathan Brooks.
1:50And we got to talk about this because Jonathan Brooks, that, that steam is really coming up for him right now and
1:57really throughout the off season as more and more reports come out of Panthers camp about, oh, they think he could like
2:04be the starting running back and always doing this in the passing game.
2:08You know, Chuba Hubbard has surprised a lot of people and to become a pretty reliable running back for the Panthers though.
2:15His efficiency has kind of come and gone year to year a little bit last year, uh, dealing with a little bit
2:21of calf injury, but also kind of just got taken over by Rico Dattel for a large part of the season.
2:28Did kind of earn a big part of that role back towards the end of the season, but they let Rico Dowdle walk.
2:35And this news comes out about Jonathan Brooks expect to be healthy.
2:39All this stuff, you know, their ADPs in dynasty are starting to converge.
2:43They're getting really close together. Chuba Hubbard's been falling.
2:46Brooks has been rising. How are you feeling about him?
2:49Yeah. I mean, as you mentioned, uh, Chuba has kind of been that guy more or less for the last couple of seasons.
2:56Those underlying metrics have not been great. Um, he was dealing with that injury last year, but he ended up, uh, 43rd
3:03out of 48 qualifying running backs and, uh, rushing yards over expected over the entire year.
3:08Uh, you know, for comparison sake, Dattel was 16th and rushing yards over expected.
3:12So it wasn't really an offensive line or an infrastructure issue.
3:16It was just Hubbard not being efficient. And like you said, he came back by the end of the year to take that job back over.
3:24But from week eight onward till the end of the season, he was the RB 57, um, and half GPR points per game.
3:31So even though he overtook that, that job, uh, not great.
3:35Uh, obviously doubt will kind of cemented at least a partial RB one treatment after he had those back to back massive
3:41games in the middle of the season. Um, yeah, now we have Brooks coming along, obviously a former second rounder, um, from a different regime, right?
3:50That's not the same regime that took him, but he's still obviously out there.
3:54Um, I watched all of the Jonathan Brooks tape earlier today.
3:57It took me about six minutes to watch the entire NFL.
4:01Yeah. Every single, every single snap. It didn't take very long.
4:04Um, obviously he represents someone who can garner a lot more explosiveness in both the rushing game and the passing game.
4:11If he's out there, uh, back to back ACL injuries are what forced him down dynasty and redraft and best ball boards
4:18throughout the early portions of, you know, the last two years, obviously.
4:21Um, and yeah, these, these almost back to back ADPs are, are interesting, but I think, I think I'm kind of falling for it.
4:29I think I would not rather have Brooks right now, but I think, um, I'm not feeling too bad if I, if
4:36I have Brooks just as a pure upside candidate, uh, we have no idea if he's going to have that home run ability once he comes back.
4:44But I do kind of like where I have them stashed away.
4:48Yeah. Yeah. The, the Brooks cost, I mean, it's getting more expensive.
4:52Uh, you might be able to still find some cheap prices.
4:55Like, uh, right now, dynasty league football startup ADP.
4:58He was just RB 41. If you look at dynasty data lab startup ADP, keep drink cut, it's RB 33 and 32.
5:05So there's a little bit of variation there. It might be, might be depending on your league, but the price isn't as
5:12good as it was, you know, early off season, you probably could have gotten for really cheap.
5:17And I, I would have certainly been buying on those prices.
5:20I tried to get some, uh, I didn't get too many deals done.
5:25It might be a little too late now. Yeah.
5:27Uh, but in general, I do like Jonathan Brooks price.
5:30It's really, you know, just betting on like what's the real ceiling outcomes for these two at this point.
5:36You know, uh, I think we know what we could get on Chuba Hubbard, even if he has this entire backfield.
5:43I'm a little bit worried about it just because we've seen some inefficiency as, as you pointed out.
5:49Uh, so like for me, dynasty Chuba, I'm trying to move down from him.
5:53I mean, even to possibly some, other running backs are going to come up today, like maybe trading down to a Jalen
6:00Warren and getting another asset on top or Rico Dowdle, his former teammate.
6:04Um, at those interests, because I think we're just looking at like similar, uh, you know, range of outcomes as, as Chuba
6:11has, but you know, possibly get another asset on top.
6:14That's cool. But trying to go out and like buy Jonathan Brooks, if you want him on your team right now.
6:20Um, I mean, from what I've seen, it's costing, you know, in rookie drafts in 2026, as they're happening, it's a high second.
6:28Maybe even end of first round pick. I couldn't quite get there.
6:31If I could, it was able to like finagle it with a lower second round pick and like another lower player added on like that was fine.
6:40But you know, people are excited. Well, we'll talk about some, some rookies later on.
6:44And I mean, if, if they're on the board in the mid to late second round, I don't know if I don't
6:51want Jonathan Brooks, those rookies we're going to talk about.
6:54Yeah. Yeah, for sure. All right. Let's move on to our second team of the day, which is the Titans.
7:01We're going to have one of those rookies here in this backfield, Tony Pollard, Tajay Spears, Nicholas Singleton, uh, Pollard.
7:07All of a sudden at the end of 2025, you know, just burst out of nowhere, almost in a way to go
7:14on and have this amazing end of the season where it would look like all doom and gloom in that Titans offense for most of the season.
7:22All of a sudden, Tony Pollard is just killing it.
7:25And Tajay Spears has kind of been doing the same thing every year where, you know, a little bit of limited opportunities,
7:32but used a lot in the passing game. Very good.
7:35There has shown ability as a runner in the NFL, but hasn't had too many opportunities in that department.
7:41And then Nicholas Singleton gets drafted to this team.
7:44And the story with him at Penn State is, you know, huge dynamic athlete, really good pass catcher, but maybe really bad
7:51at actually all the nuances of playing running back.
7:54Like has no idea where the hole in the line is on any given play, you know, like anything that like the
8:01instincts of playing running back, he seems to really struggle with.
8:04You know, like a player like him, who's as hyped as he was, who put up some of the numbers that he
8:11did early in his college career, staying all four years while coming from college like Penn State, like it should put some alarm bells off.
8:19I think, you know, he falls to day three for the Titans and people are really excited for, for Nicholas Singleton, you
8:26know, saw him going into the first round in dynasty rookie drafts this off season.
8:30I couldn't get there myself, but now all these ADPs, you know, Singleton is basically the consensus RB one in this backfield in dynasty.
8:38I don't know if I'm there yet, just cause like, I don't really expect that much this season and who's to say
8:45Titans don't bring more people in next year. I mean, how are you feeling?
8:49Oh, the exact same. I mean, you, I may have shared the wrong sheet with you.
8:54I just gave you all my notes. I'm thinking the same thing.
8:58Honestly, I mean, uh, there's no reason for them to take Tony Pollard off the field right now.
9:03And when they do, it's going to be Tajay Spears.
9:07Um, he had just about as many pass blocking snaps as Pollard had last year Spears.
9:12I should say, even though he missed the first four games of the season, he had 11 more targets than Pollard again,
9:18missing the first month of the season. Um, I don't see a situation that they're going to remove Spears from the lineup to get Singleton in there.
9:27Um, I mean, this is just so expensive. I know Singleton had a hundred plus catches in college.
9:33And like you said, he was, he was there all four years, uh, explosive third season.
9:38And then the fourth season, he just gets completely blown out of the water by Katron Allen.
9:43So you can't even really explain away the fact that Penn state's offense looked like crap because Katron Allen didn't look nearly as bad as Singleton.
9:51Um, so yeah, in year one, um, last, last year, Julius Chestnut and Khalil Mullins combined for 14 carries.
9:57Uh, Julius Chestnut was the only other running back besides Pollard and Spears with even a single target last season.
10:03Obviously we've got Brian Dayball here, uh, as the, the replacement offensive coordinator and he used Devin Singletary quite a bit the last couple of seasons.
10:11But I mean, Singletary is a veteran back that you can count on.
10:15I don't think Singleton is that same kind of profile.
10:18So if he's not going to get out there for year one, and then let's say they get rid of both Pollard and Spears heading into 2027.
10:27Like you mentioned, he's a fifth round pick. What's stopping them from using a day to pick on another running back.
10:33Who's just going to hop right over Singleton. This like RB 37 and RB 40 price tag for Singleton is kind of outlandish to me.
10:41I mean, I don't, I don't mean to like rag on him or anything, but that's, that's kind of wild.
10:47Yeah. I think it's a lot of projection, uh, for Singletons and that's a lot of projection for a day three running
10:54back pick in what was a bad running back class.
10:57Right. Yeah. Um, Tony Pollard who goes basically right after him in ADP in most places.
11:02Like that's another one of those possible tear down targets from Chuba Hubbard for me.
11:07Like if you're looking just for like similar production in 2026.
11:11Right. Tachi Spears is really interesting to me because you know, he, he doesn't have ACLs.
11:16Uh, so like, right. Like literally he doesn't have an ACL.
11:19Yeah. Like not joking. He doesn't have ACL. So it's always been a thing of like how long will he actually last in the NFL?
11:27And his contract is up at the end of the season.
11:30And I don't think we've seen it look like he doesn't have ACLs in a way.
11:35Right. Like, like it doesn't tell that there's any wear and tear necessarily.
11:39So I'm a little intrigued by Spears because you know, he's around RB 50 and dynasty contract up until the end of
11:46the season could be brought back, could find his way to greener pastures.
11:50I like a little bit of speculative buyout. I'm kind of interested.
11:54What do you think about Spears? Yeah, I think it's interesting.
11:57And especially if you, if you think Spears locks down that job for the entirety of the season, what do you think
12:04about Singleton being like a round one turn guy?
12:07And then Spears, you're not paying the one 12 for Tajay Spears and in any, in any scenario.
12:13So you can get the production that people are kind of just projecting for Singleton for a far cheaper price, at least for this season.
12:21If they don't bring him back. And I mean, he doesn't have an ACL.
12:25Was he 25 years old or potentially 26 years old?
12:28Yeah. 25 on the dot basically. So yeah, I just don't, I, I do like that.
12:33Um, probably a deeper league target. If you're like a 20, 21 person or I'm sorry, a 28 person league.
12:39I don't know how many times Spears is going to find your lineup, but if you're starting 14 people or if you're
12:46in a league with 40 roster slots, I think Spears is worth, you know, sniffing around for what I would presume to be incredibly cheap.
12:54Yeah. I imagine if you're just, if you try to just trade for Spears, like the opposing manager is going to like understand what the deal is.
13:02And you're going to have to overpay if you're just like, you can't just send a third for Spears.
13:08They'll be like, well, no, like I just, I just won't do that.
13:12So I bet you have to try and like work him into another trade, make him like the add on in a different trade to get him.
13:21Right. But I do think you could do that.
13:24All right. We are going to take a quick minute to hear about the dynasty deluxe and we get back.
13:30We've got more backfields to talk about. What does player profiler do best dynasty?
13:34We have the best dynasty rankings of our, Oh, they have tight end premium.
13:39Oh, it's super flex. Oh, but also win now mode versus rebuild mode.
13:43The most sophisticated best rankings using player profiler data that exists in the world are available on playerprofiler.com.
13:48Big surprise. That's right. There's a trade analyzer to know, should I make this trade or not?
13:54And then there's a trade finder. There's dynasty league sync.
13:57There's an ADP tracker, all the tools dynasty league players need.
14:00So get it now. It's $45, not per month per year.
14:04So let's go start building super teams. From athletic stuff, like a full court pickup game, swish to athletic stuff, like a half mile stroll.
14:11Get those steps in head to Sierra or Sierra.com for the brands you want at the prices that let you do it all from athletic to athletic.
14:20Fish Sierra's got it. They say you can tell a lot about a person by the contents of their freezer.
14:26So what does a bottle Jägermeister say? It says you have standards.
14:30You don't cut corners. And you like your Jägermeister shots the way they're meant to be enjoyed.
14:35Ice cold. As for the frozen taquitos and mystery leftovers, we'll keep that between us.
14:40Drink it cold or don't drink it at all.
14:43Jägermeister. Damn, that's cold. Drink responsibly. Jägermeister liqueur, 35% alcohol by volume.
14:46Imported by Masked Jägermeister, U.S. White Plains, New York.
14:49Back here on Press Coverage with Justin Edwards talking about some interesting backfields for Dynasty.
14:54But before we get to the next backfield, Justin, what have you been working on?
14:59Oh, I've been knocking out right in the middle of my annual offensive line rankings.
15:03Right in the middle of it, I had the bottom 11 released yesterday on Monday of this week.
15:09And then tomorrow will be the middle 11. And then on Friday, it'll be the top 10 offensive line rankings.
15:15They're made fantasy forward, fantasy focused. I tried to correlate what metrics I'm looking at with actual fantasy performances from their skill positions.
15:22And then rank them and then move them around as such.
15:26Love to hear. Offensive line, really underrated part of fantasy.
15:29They control so much of what offenses do. All right.
15:32We got the Rams up next. Kyron Williams, Blake Corum.
15:35Kyron Williams, universal RB16 right now. Looking across basically every Dynasty marketplace that I can find.
15:40Blake Corum, on the other hand, RB3 somewhere in there.
15:43We started to see their roles a little bit converge in 2025.
15:47Kyron still dominated the passing work. But Blake Corum really started to catch up to him on the ground.
15:53Now, Kyron was still fine for the most part.
15:56I mean, it was a bit of a down year for him fantasy-wise.
16:00But, like, you were still happy to have Kyron Williams on your teams.
16:04Blake Corum really showed what he can do and was a really efficient runner for the Rams in 2025.
16:10And for years, people have been saying, you basically ever since Blake Corum got on the Rams, you know, always going to take more and more from Kyron.
16:19Eventually, you know, with it, we could see a flip happening.
16:22Do you actually think Blake Corum can pass Kyron Williams at some point?
16:26Like, how are you feeling about these two? I think it would take an actual.
16:31I mean, this is such a cop-out. But I think it would have to take that injury or Kyron just loses a step somehow.
16:38I just think that the Rams offense and McVay just trust exactly what Kyron is.
16:43They know exactly what they're going to get out of him.
16:46I think what we saw last year is probably going to be the modus operandi for the rest of at least this iteration of the Rams offense.
16:55Where Kyron's the two-to-one drive, whatever. He's going to still get the pass catching usage.
16:59Corum had, like, a 2% target share last year.
17:02Which means that's just, like, you know, emergency check down situations.
17:06You know, a 2% target rate is kind of ridiculous.
17:09But we did see Corum, like, vastly have a substantially better breakaway rate last year.
17:14But Kyron still had better yards created after contact.
17:16He doubled his yards per route run, obviously, with that 2% target share.
17:20I think Kyron is, like, perfectly rated right now at this ADP.
17:24This, like, the RB16 makes perfect sense to me.
17:27Especially if you're in a startup and you're trying to make a contender right now.
17:32If you're doing, like, a productive struggle kind of thing, maybe you just ignore Kyron altogether.
17:37And then I think Corum is kind of right where he needs to be.
17:41Obviously, like I said, if Kyron goes down, Corum is all of a sudden in RB2 and fantasy.
17:47And that's not something you necessarily want to bet on, is that someone could become better with an injury.
17:53And then also kind of in the forward-thinking aspect of this, if we're looking at 2027 and beyond, if Stafford's not there
17:59or Devontae goes down or Puka continues to have these off-field issues and Kyron's out the door, what are we doing with
18:06Blake Corum with Ty Simpson and whatever wide receivers are out there?
18:10So I think that's kind of worrying, too. Like, the odds that Corum is an RB2 this year or next year and or 2028 seem a little far-fetched.
18:19So I think him as an RB3 just makes sense.
18:22Yeah, I think that's a really good point about Blake Corum.
18:25With Kyron Williams, I'm a little bit lower than the Dynasty marketplace right now.
18:30Um, I started this offseason lumping him in with what I call like the one-year bets at running back, which is any
18:37running back where I have trouble projecting what they're going to do past the next season for whatever reason.
18:43And that could be for a lot of different reasons.
18:46With Kyron, it's the combination of factors of what the Rams doing, where Blake Corum is, all that type of stuff, where
18:53I feel pretty good about what's going to happen in 2026, but I really don't know about after that.
18:58Um, so I actually, like, when I was kind of going through my rankings throughout the offseason, I just kept kind of
19:05like, eh, I think actually I like Travis Etienne more.
19:08Because I actually think that might be a one-and-a-half to two-year bet there now in New Orleans now.
19:14So I think their outcomes could be similar this year.
19:17And because I feel a little bit better about Etienne's role looking down the road one year, I'm going to put him ahead.
19:24Or like Cam Scadaboo. I mean, yes, dealing with an injury, but especially after the draft, they added no one.
19:31I feel pretty comfortable about what he's going to do for the Giants, looking at least two seasons down the road.
19:37Comparing him against even older running backs like Derrick Henry.
19:40I feel much better about Derrick Henry in 2026.
19:43And if I'm going to consider them both kind of a one-year bet running back, I'm going to have Derrick Henry ahead.
19:50How do you feel about that? I have. Yeah.
19:53Yeah. Perfect sense. Yeah. All right. Let's head on over to our next team, which is the Broncos.
19:58R.J. Harvey, J.K. Dobbins, newly acquired rookie Jonah Coleman.
20:01Another one where this rookie, this day three rookie, is really coming up on these ADPs.
20:06He's not the number one in his backfield the way that Nicholas Singleton is, but he's getting close to R.J.
20:13Harvey. You know, R.J. Harvey has kind of fallen out of RB2 range in dynasty rankings, just outside of there.
20:19Jonah Coleman is an RB3, and he's climbing. J.K.
20:22Dobbins is hanging out, you know, as an RB4 right now.
20:25I think this is a really interesting backfield because before Jonah Coleman got there, it was really easy to project because they
20:32kind of just ran it back with what they were doing last year.
20:36The J.K. Dobbins was their one-to-two down grinder. R.J.
20:39Harvey is going to work in the passing game and, you know, get some rushing work.
20:44But now they bring in Jonah Coleman, who, like, the first thing they say is, like, we love this guy in pass protection and that kind of stuff.
20:52And, like, that's really Jonah Coleman's calling card. It's like he does all the little things right.
20:58You know, he doesn't make mistakes, which I think is something that Sean Payton is really going to love.
21:04He's always looking for these guys who can be used in these certain situations.
21:08And this seems pretty messy now. I could see this being closer to a three-headed kind of monster in this backfield.
21:15Do any of these prices get you interested? Oh, yeah.
21:18This is the rough one. I mean, they're all rough, but this is hard to peg.
21:23If I were to go anywhere with these current prices, I mean, maybe I just take a stab at Dobbins and see
21:30if he actually stays upright for, like, 13 games.
21:32Because he really has looked good over the last ever.
21:36He's always looked good, actually. He's always looked good when he's playing football.
21:40I kind of assumed that, like, coming out of the draft, I'm like, well, Coleman's just going to be the Dobbins insurance.
21:47And then, I don't know, because as you mentioned, the fact that he is a reliable aspect on the ground, Harvey was
21:53not that for most of his rookie season. He had some issues with vision and finding the correct holes.
21:59And, obviously, Sean Payton doesn't enjoy that. And the fact that he was a second-round pick last year doesn't mean as much
22:06if he's going to get his touches eaten away by both Dobbins and a day-three rookie, which sounds ridiculous.
22:12But, I mean, it's very plausible in this situation.
22:15We're not quite talking about the Tennessee situation where we know exactly what we're getting with Tony Pollard as a presumptive RB1 on the depth chart.
22:23We don't know what RJ Harvey is exactly going to give us.
22:27We do know what Dobbins is going to give us, but we don't know if he's going to be on the field.
22:34So, yeah, these are all pretty rough. I like Dobbins at the price if I had to choose.
22:39But, yeah, that's definitely just a one-year rental or a half-year rental.
22:43Yeah, half-year rental for sure. Yeah. You know, it's funny as I'm pulling up these player pages for these players on playerprofile.com,
22:50if you're watching on video, I didn't realize until just this moment that RJ Harvey is older than Tajay Spears.
22:56I knew Harvey came into the NFL old, but that was a little surprising for me.
23:01It's jarring. Yeah, a little bit. You know, RJ Harvey finished the season really well from a fantasy perspective, but it wasn't that clean.
23:09As you said, like, on the ground, he didn't look like that great of a runner because he did kind of struggle
23:16with finding the whole, you know, that aspect of playing running back.
23:19But he was able to catch enough passes, get used enough in the red zone after Dobbins went down, and there was
23:26still really no one else in the backfield. He still really got there for fantasy, and I think that's hard for people
23:33to cope with, that, like, he may have just been a player of circumstance during his rookie season.
23:39Right. I personally, I don't want to say I'm hands off the backfield in Dynasty.
23:43Like, for the right price, sure, I could see myself being interested in any of them, but all of the prices are,
23:50like, just high enough that I'm like, ah, you know, that's fine.
23:54Like, someone else can make the move on these players.
23:57Like, Jonah Coleman, again, like Nicholas Singleton, was a one-to-two round, you know, one-two turn pick in rookie drafts, and I'm like,
24:04I can't do that for this day three running back, you know?
24:08And I'm not looking to pay these prices to actually go out and acquire any of them.
24:13I have very little of any of these in Dynasty already, so I can't sell them if I wanted to.
24:19So I am just kind of hands off right now.
24:22I think kind of the issue with Coleman as well is, let's say, I mean, I know I'm joking around, but let's
24:29say Dobbins lasts six games and he goes out.
24:32Yeah. Whatever. He retires. He doesn't even get injured this time.
24:36He just decides to leave. One of the odds that Peyton is just going to run with a two-headed backfield, because he
24:42hasn't since he's been in Denver, so it's just going to be R.J.
24:46Harvey, Coleman, and then another guy. Tyler Bidet or someone?
24:50Right, yeah. And maybe he switches things up if something happens midseason and it's just Harvey and Coleman and we got two
24:56guys we can kind of depend on to score consistent points.
25:00But he's been running the three-headed backfield since he came back and took this job over.
25:05So, I mean, it doesn't mean he's going to do it forever, but it seems to be the way he's wanted to run this.
25:12Yeah, and here's the thing, too. Like, let's say that does happen and R.J.
25:17Harvey and Jonah Coleman have the backfield split starting seven games into the season, whatever.
25:21And it's just them hanging out for the rest of the season.
25:25Is that worth RB30 price for Jonah Coleman? Do you have confidence that continues into 2027?
25:30I mean, like, the reports throughout the offseason were the Broncos were so in on, like, trying to acquire a top right.
25:37Like, they were trying to get running backs the entire time.
25:40They ended up bringing back J.K. Dobbins. They draft Jonah Coleman.
25:44Like, who's to say they wouldn't just be doing that again next season?
25:48It would not surprise me. RB30 is wild. I mean, I know I already landed on Singleton's price being kind of over the top.
25:55I mean, this is just as over the top, if not more.
25:59We like the Denver offense. I mean, they probably would have made it to the Super Bowl if Bo Nix didn't have an ankle injury.
26:07But RB30 is kind of wild. I mean, even if he took over the majority of the touches here, we still don't.
26:14So, I mean, he's better than, you know, I don't know.
26:17It's a lot. RB30 is a lot. Yeah, you know, and, like, I think the difference between him and Singleton and their
26:24dynasty prices, Singleton is down a good amount of spots in the RB rankings, depending on where you look, is just the offense.
26:31As you mentioned, like, Jonah Coleman's on a good offense.
26:35Nicholas Singleton is on an offense that we hope gets good.
26:38Right, yeah. But to be frank, like, if I was going to be picking between those two in Dynasty at cost, I'd
26:45be taking Singleton just because I think their chances at getting opportunities and that those opportunities continuing are the same moving forward.
26:52They're both dependent on something unforeseen happening because there's no way one of those guys, as it stands right now, is going
26:59to be taking more than, like, six opportunities in week one.
27:02Yeah. Famous last words right there. Right, yeah. I can't wait.
27:05Enjoy your rookie of the year season, Jonah Coleman.
27:08Yeah. Since I said that. All right. Last backfield of the day that we're going to talk about is the Steelers, Jalen Warren and Rico Dowdle.
27:16We talked a little bit, Rico Dowdle, earlier when we were talking about the Panthers, how he took over a big part
27:23of that backfield while he walked in free agency.
27:26On over to the Steelers to play with his former coach, Mike McCarthy there.
27:30Jalen Warren's coming off a solid season for himself, too, which he split the backfield with Kenneth Gainwell.
27:36Now, I could see this being a split backfield again in 2026, but I feel like the roles are going to change a little bit for Jalen Warren.
27:45You know, for Warren in 2025, he actually kind of became that two-down grinder for the Panthers.
27:50I mean, he still was active in the passing game, but not nearly as much as he could have been because Kenneth
27:57Gainwell was so active in the past game. He was the real past game threat.
28:02While Rico Dowdle is a fine pass-scarer backfield. He's not, you know, a liability there.
28:06He's definitely not as good as Warren. So it makes me think, like, Warren could end up just, like, switching roles in
28:13the backfield for what it was last year. I mean, we have new coaching staff here, so it's not that simple per
28:20se, but we know that Jalen Warren's a good running back.
28:24Rico Dowdle comes in and shown himself to be a good running back.
28:28I have to imagine this is going to be a split in some way.
28:32Like, I don't think one of these running backs is just going to, like, take over the backfield completely.
28:38Do you feel differently about that? What do you think?
28:41I think I might like Warren this year, at least, maybe a little bit more than you do.
28:47I think, as you mentioned, Gainwell ate into so many of his targets.
28:51He was averaging 3.8 targets a game in the two seasons prior to last year.
28:55And then Gainwell's addition, he averaged 2.8 targets per game last year.
28:59So, down a full target a game. Just in terms of, we do have a different coaching staff, but we also still
29:06have Aaron Rodgers out there who's going to swing his you-know-what.
29:09And it's going to kind of depend on who he wants out there for the most part in his final season.
29:16I'm not saying this is going to completely translate into fantasy points, but I think it's worth mentioning that Dowdle was charged
29:23with 12 pressures on 52 pass blocking snaps last season, which was the third highest raw pressures of any running back in
29:30the league, even though he was splitting time with Chuba Hubbard.
29:33Last year, Gainwell had two pressures over his time and pass blocking snaps, and Warren had one pressure allowed in all of his pass blocking snaps last year.
29:42So, I think there's that curmudgeon Rodgers possibility that Rico Dowdle gets out there and lets a couple sacks up, and Warren
29:49is all of a sudden taking almost all of the third down snaps, which isn't a guarantee, but I think it's a possibility.
29:56I think Warren could, I'm not saying he's going to have a 70% snap share, but I think it could be closer
30:03to like a 60-40, and I think straight up, I like where Warren's at.
30:07I think Dowdle might be, should be pushed down a little bit further even from his like RB 33 or 35 range.
30:14I think it should be closer to like an RB 40.
30:18And in dynasty terms, because I think for both of these guys, we're kind of looking at 2026, and then 2027 is
30:24once again kind of up in the air. Yeah, I am slightly ahead of market on Warren and slightly behind market on Dowdle currently.
30:32Okay, yeah, I mean, yeah, we were saying the same thing.
30:35Yeah, maybe the way I bring it up is not as glowing as what I feel, because that, and I think that
30:42might be because like I like Jalen Warren as a player a lot, and I think he could have been doing a
30:49lot more this entire time, like if he was given the opportunity to.
30:53And then maybe I feel like I won't let myself be hurt too much by Warren, you know, like I do.
31:00I did a show a few weeks ago where I was talking about some dynasty trades that I've been making, and one
31:07of them was trading a future second for Jalen Warren on a team where I built out the team really well, but
31:13I just needed to add some more firepower running backs to really make that push.
31:18And that was one of the opportunities that was available to me was to add Warren.
31:23I do think that he's a good bet for this year to produce his cost.
31:28But as you said, like 2027 could be who knows what 2027 could be.
31:32Yeah, we have no idea. Yeah, both of them fall into the one year one year bet players for me.
31:38I still like Warren a little bit more. The pass catching is a big deal.
31:43I think here Mike McCarthy. It shouldn't it shouldn't stop either, regardless of if Rogers plays the whole season or not.
31:50Him and Rudolph had the third highest check down rate last season.
31:53Yes. Yeah. And we know that likes to pass, you know, the football.
31:57So I do really think those opportunities will be there for Warren and and I am betting into that.
32:03All right. Let's kind of wrap this up all together a little bit and do a little this or that with some of these running backs.
32:12Jalen Warren or Jonathan Brooks? Ooh, coming out swinging.
32:14Oh, Jalen Warren by a hair, but I do like the upside that Brooks is.
32:19I mean, they'd have to be if I just did a full ranking list, which obviously I didn't or I would be talking about it right now.
32:27I think they'd be more or less back to back for different completely different reasons.
32:32I do have a Warren ahead as well. Let's do.
32:35Okay. So you had Warren or Blake Corum Warren.
32:38I have it the same. All right. Let's get a let's get a good one in here.
32:43Let's move up. Warren or RJ Harvey? Still are.
32:46It's RJ Harvey. I think I think he has not only the upside of a Jonathan Brooks, but also he's already got
32:53a sizable role, if not the role we wanted him to have when he came out last year.
32:59Yeah, I agree. Now, I think it's pretty safe to say that you'd have Kyron Williams ahead of RJ Harvey and Dicey.
33:06But what would it take? I would. Yeah. What do you think like the difference in value is between those two?
33:12Um, I mean, it's nowhere near like a first or anything, though.
33:16I don't think so far away that it's going to take a future first.
33:20But like, I would probably I would want a second or something similar to a second.
33:25Especially if it's too sorry. If it's a 2027 second, I just want the second.
33:30Or I'm sorry. It's 2026 second. I just want the second.
33:33And then the 2027 second might take more from me to convince the other side, if that makes sense.
33:39Yeah. Yeah. Because presumably next year's second round is going to be a little bit better than what we got.
33:46You might have to add a third third on back of your side.
33:50To get that happening. Yeah. I agree with with that.
33:53That valuation, though. I think that is correct. I know before we mentioned Nicholas Singleton and Jonah Coleman against each other.
33:59So we kind of already talked about that a little bit.
34:03Yeah. Okay. I think I think we found a good place here.
34:06Now. Okay, here's a good one. Rico Dowdle or the rookies.
34:10Nicholas Singleton or Jonah Coleman. Oh, that is good.
34:13I'm not sure. I'm not sure. I'm looking at my ranking so I can be like, okay, do I actually feel this way?
34:20Do I actually think this? I have Rico Dowdle ahead of both right now.
34:24Yeah. I mean, I think it's so close. I mean, Dowdle's up there, isn't he?
34:29He's 28 or something like that. In age? Yeah.
34:32I think you are correct because he was also another one that came into the NFL a little bit old to begin with.
34:39He is 28. Okay. Yeah. I think that's the only thing that's keeping me from saying it's obviously Rico, but it's close to obviously Rico.
34:47That might be a contender or rebuilder question. Sure.
34:50Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right. All right. That's good. That's what I meant.
34:53That's what I meant to say. Well, on that note, Justin, always appreciate you joining me here on Press Carverage.
