Player insights

63

Amon-Ra St. Brown

NegativeRole105:18

Amon-Ra St. Brown is referenced as the established primary receiver in the Lions offense, ahead of Isaac Guerendo and other secondary targets.

Insight page

Ashton Jeanty

NegativeValue108:05

Ashton Jeanty is going multiple picks ahead of A-Chain in ADP despite both being in bad offenses; Matt Kelley prefers A-Chain at his current cost over Jeanty, suggesting Jeanty is overvalued relative to his offensive situation.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeProjection18:00

Matt Kelley notes that Baker Mayfield looked phenomenal to start last year but was playing hurt. Mayfield doesn't have the touch and accuracy that Brock Purdy has, though Mayfield is more athletically gifted, has a stronger arm, and can move around better. Kelley prefers Purdy's accuracy for Evans' situation.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

NegativeProjection60:33

Bijan Robinson offers more durability and a higher floor than Jamir Gibbs due to his size and ability to withstand a heavy workload; however, his ceiling is limited to approximately 25 fantasy points per game in Atlanta's offense with two left-handed quarterbacks, making him five points per game behind Gibbs' upside.

Insight page
NegativeProjection61:43

Bijan Robinson's ceiling is constrained by Atlanta's quarterback situation; while he is more durable and can withstand heavy workload from an injury-risk perspective, his absolute ceiling of 25 fantasy points per game is lower than peers due to having two left-handed quarterbacks, limiting offensive efficiency and upside relative to players in better offensive systems.

Insight page

Brenton Strange

PositiveValue50:04

Matt Kelley projects Brenton Strange for 87 targets and loves pairing him with Parker Washington on every team; Strange is a late-round tight end with upside in a top offense, better than Jake Ferguson with similar production plus more upside. He can block and the addition of more tight ends frees him to focus on pass-catching.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeProjection49:07

Matt Kelley projects Brian Thomas Jr. for 1,000 yards on 99 targets; he will be the second banana to Parker Washington with at least 5% lower target share. Thomas will provide spike weeks in best ball but be frustrating in seasonal leagues with inconsistent production.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

NegativeRole108:39

Brock Bowers is positioned as a target competitor to Ashton Jeanty in the Raiders offense, limiting Jeanty's receiving upside.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection18:00

Matt Kelley praises Brock Purdy as a more accurate thrower than Baker Mayfield, with better touch and accuracy. Purdy has timing, rhythm, and understands leverage of defenders much better than Mayfield. Kelley notes Purdy may be the second-best quarterback Mike Evans has ever played with (after Tom Brady), and his accuracy will help Evans make simple adjustments on the football.

Insight page
PositiveValue23:30

Purdy is part of the 49ers' broader value discount caused by injury concerns and last year's poor team performance. Kelley identifies San Francisco as a gold mine of value across the board, with Purdy included in that thesis.

Insight page
PositiveProjection43:28

Matt Kelley still prefers Brock Purdy over Trevor Lawrence because he projects more passing yards and benefits from continuity and improved weapons in San Francisco's already elite offense.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveValue69:12

Matt Kelley prefers Chase Brown over Jahmyr Gibbs at their respective ADPs, citing better value and a superior offensive context despite acknowledging the preference sounds counterintuitive.

Insight page

Chris Rodriguez

NegativeRole44:24

Matt Kelley cannot get to Chris Rodriguez at ADP in Jacksonville's passing-game-focused offense; Rodriguez is only a touchdown play with no upside, making him a poor value in most leagues.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeDepth Chart15:30

Matt Kelley notes that Christian McCaffrey is the only San Francisco player inside the top 50 fantasy rankings, making him the team's only expensive piece. San Francisco is projected for the sixth most points in the NFL with only McCaffrey in the top 50, making the team attractive for taking chances on other players.

Insight page
PositiveValue23:00

Kelley argues McCaffrey is being drafted a slot or two behind where he should be, suggesting undervaluation. He's part of the broader 49ers passing game discount caused by injury concerns and last year's poor team performance, positioning him as a value target.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveBreakout15:00

Matt Kelley expects DJ Moore to become more interesting as camp reports come out, suggesting he looks really good and will generate more interest as the season approaches. Moore is currently cheap and affordable on the Bills, making him a potential value play.

Insight page

George Kittle

NegativeInjury17:00

Matt Kelley expresses concern about George Kittle's involvement in the red zone coming off an Achilles rupture. Kelley has Kittle slightly behind Mike Evans at number three in red zone target share, and is uncertain how involved Kittle will be in the red zone this season.

Insight page
PositiveValue23:00

Kittle is being drafted around or after where he should be, suggesting undervaluation. He's part of the 49ers' broader passing game discount stemming from injury concerns and last year's poor performance.

Insight page

Greg Dulcich

NegativeRole106:47

Greg Dulcich is being positioned as the de facto number one receiver in Miami's offense, which is characterized as an absurd outcome given Dulcich's historical resume and the presence of other receiving options like Devontae Houston.

Insight page

Isaac Guerendo

PositiveProjection105:31

Matt Kelley projects Isaac Guerendo's target ceiling at approximately 45-50 targets in a healthy scenario, with upside to 100 targets only in the event of a Jamison Williams suspension or injury; Kelley wants more from Guerendo but acknowledges he's in the right place on the right team to make it happen, suggesting this will become a stronger conversation point as summer progresses.

Insight page

Isiah Pacheco

NegativeBust63:57

Isaiah Pacheco is not nearly as good as David Montgomery; while Matt Kelley liked Pacheco at one point, Montgomery at his prime in Detroit's first few years was a significantly better football player, and Pacheco compounds the issue by being unable to stay on the field, making him a poor comparison to Montgomery's production level.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveProjection12:00

Matt Kelley prefers Jamar Chase over Puka Nakua at pick 103, citing Chase's higher touchdown upside and greater likelihood of reaching the end zone. Kelley projects Chase at 19 PPG with more targets than Nakua, though slightly lower total projection. Kelley also notes Chase plays for a team (Bengals) that will be behind in games more often, driving more passing volume.

Insight page

Ja'Tavion Sanders

NegativeProjection31:00

Sanders is expected to receive around 60 targets in Carolina's offense, positioning him as a secondary receiving option. His role is defined but limited in a pass-heavy environment.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

NegativeValue68:08

Matt Kelley views Jahmyr Gibbs as overvalued at his ADP despite strong historical metrics. Gibbs is projected for 6 touchdowns and 60+ receptions, which historically (1999–2025) correlates with top-5 RB finishes 80% of the time; however, Kelley notes that none of the historical comparables played on a bottom-5 offense, and Gibbs's Detroit offense ranks in the bottom five. Kelley explicitly states he cannot draft Gibbs at his current ADP and prefers Chase Brown, Devon Echelon, James Cook, and Marion Hampton instead.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveValue11:00

Matt Kelley loves Jalen Coker and finds it interesting that Coker is ranked in the same tier as Ricky Pearsall in Kelley's rankings, even though Pearsall is ranked much higher everywhere else. Kelley is bullish on Coker relative to consensus.

Insight page
PositiveValue28:00

Coker has significant upside that's underappreciated; he's not on a top-10 offense but has exceptional opportunity due to Carolina's weak receiving corps and expected negative game script. With Ted McMillan potentially unavailable and no other dominant pass-catchers, Coker should command 25-30% target share, making him a value exception to the 42-WR rule despite ADP in the 120s.

Insight page
PositiveProjection30:00

Coker posted a 76.7% catch rate and 100% true catch rate on 43 targets last year, demonstrating elite efficiency and ball security. His yards per target metric is strong, and he has comparable athleticism and burst to Ricky Pearsall, making him a high-floor option despite playing for a weaker offense and quarterback situation.

Insight page
PositiveRole31:00

Coker is the entrenched number-two option in Carolina's offense when Ted McMillan is healthy, giving him a higher floor than Ricky Pearsall (WR4 on 49ers). If Carolina's offensive line struggles and the team plays from behind, Coker's target share will increase further. His athleticism matches Pearsall's, but his positional role is more secure.

Insight page
NegativeProjection32:00

Coker's primary limitation is Bryce Young at quarterback; if Young were replaced or if Coker played for a better QB, he would be drafted 2-3 rounds earlier. Young's limitations as a passer and his small stature constrain Coker's ceiling despite his efficiency and athleticism.

Insight page
PositiveValue41:21

Matt Kelley likes Coker and prefers him over Pierce in robust RB strategies because Coker has a higher floor as the number two option versus Pierce as the number four option; both are undervalued but Coker offers more security in early-round RB investment.

Insight page

Jalin Hyatt

NegativeRole42:22

Pierce is described as an ideal upside bench player if drafted at a point where he doesn't need to start in week one, allowing time to evaluate his usage and role in the 49ers offense alongside George Kittle and Mike Evans.

Insight page

James Cook

NegativeValue15:00

Matt Kelley notes that James Cook is an expensive piece on the Buffalo Bills, and you're paying through the nose for him. Buffalo doesn't have a lot of interesting pieces beyond Cook and Josh Allen, making the team less attractive for fantasy targets despite Buffalo being projected for the second most points this year.

Insight page
PositiveValue69:19

Matt Kelley prefers James Cook over Jahmyr Gibbs at their respective ADPs, citing better value and offensive context.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

PositiveUsage65:14

Jamison Williams is projected for approximately 95 targets, not 100 as some might expect; Matt Kelley notes that many people are high on JMO this year but he is not, suggesting the target projection reflects skepticism about his role expansion in the Lions offense despite the team's pass-heavy approach.

Insight page
NegativeRole105:38

Jamison Williams is positioned as the primary receiver in the Lions offense ahead of Isaac Guerendo; a suspension or injury to Williams would dramatically increase Guerendo's target ceiling from 45-50 to approximately 100 targets.

Insight page

Jaylen Wright

NegativeRole68:28

Matt Kelley questions whether Jalen Wright's touches are crowding out other players' opportunities, raising concerns about touch distribution in the offense.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeValue33:00

Brooks is mentioned as a running back option in the same ADP range but is cautioned against due to playing for a bad offense (Carolina). Drafters may avoid doubling up on Carolina's weak passing game by selecting Brooks.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeValue15:00

Matt Kelley notes Josh Allen is an expensive piece on the Buffalo Bills, part of why the team doesn't offer much value despite being projected for the second most points this year. Buffalo's expensive pieces limit the number of interesting targets available.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

PositiveMatchup70:59

Matt Kelley frames Justin Herbert as the inverse of Bryce Young in terms of quarterback quality and offensive context. The Chargers' situation under Herbert represents the opposite of the Panthers' dysfunction, with healthy offensive line play and stud tackles getting healthy, creating an optimal environment for skill position players.

Insight page

LeQuint Allen

NegativeRole44:54

LaQuint Allen is a passing-game play in Jacksonville's offense, functioning as a satellite back rather than a traditional running back.

Insight page

Malik Willis

NegativeRole106:59

Malik Willis is expected to be a rushing quarterback for the Dolphins, which will impact target distribution in the offense; despite Willis's rushing role, Devontae Houston is projected to be the primary receiving option.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

NegativeValue31:00

Wilson is cited as Jalen Coker's best comparable player on PlayerProfiler, suggesting similar profile, efficiency, and opportunity trajectory. The comparison implies Coker could follow a similar path to relevance if given opportunity.

Insight page

Mike Evans

PositiveProjection16:00

Matt Kelley is bullish on Mike Evans as a beautiful landing spot in San Francisco, projecting him at 14 PPG, which he notes is at least a round behind where he expects players to score points. Kelley believes Evans is competing for targets primarily with non-wide receivers (a running back out of the backfield and a tight end coming off an Achilles rupture), making him the clear red zone target. Kelley compares Evans' situation to Devontae Adams' 2023 season and notes Evans has never had great quarterback play except with Tom Brady—Brock Purdy may be the second-best QB of his career. Evans had 1,900+ air yards in 2023, top-10 target rate at 27.6% targets per route run, and his 3.3% motion rate (173rd among NFL WRs) suggests Kyle Shanahan could unlock additional upside by deploying him in motion more, something defensive coordinators have never accounted for.

Insight page
PositiveRole20:50

Matt Kelley argues Evans has untapped upside through increased motion usage; he's never been deployed in motion frequently throughout his career, creating a schematic advantage if Kyle Shanahan or the Buccaneers deploy him more creatively. Kelley notes defensive coordinators have historical game plans for Evans' traditional usage patterns but have never accounted for high-motion deployment, suggesting early-season upside not baked into projections.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup34:00

Evans benefits from six games per season against the NFC South, which has historically weak defenses and secondary play. This divisional advantage provides consistent upside opportunities throughout the season.

Insight page
NegativeRole42:25

Mike Evans signed with San Francisco; his role and usage in the 49ers offense alongside George Kittle and other weapons creates unknowns about target distribution and opportunity.

Insight page

Omarion Hampton

PositiveValue70:05

Matt Kelley views Marion Hampton as a much better value play than Jahmyr Gibbs despite their historical draft proximity. Hampton is a first-round pick in a great offense (Los Angeles Chargers) with a superior offensive line and health situation compared to Gibbs's bottom-5 Detroit offense. Kelley explicitly states Hampton offers much better value and is the superior play when comparing the two similar-profile running backs.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveBreakout45:01

Matt Kelley compares Parker Washington to Jerry Rice based on measurables alignment and work ethic; Washington shows up at 5 AM to the facility, has special permission to live there, and is a maniacal obsessed individual. He set a record for how quickly he saw the field as an undrafted free agent with a 100% true catch rate, demonstrating elite football ability regardless of metrics.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeProjection8:30

Matt Kelley projects Puka Nakua as a step above every other wide receiver based on probable target share and historic efficiency, despite consensus ranking him as WR2 or WR3 rather than WR1. Kelley attributes the consensus discount to off-field risk from a biting incident, but believes this is overblown and will be forgotten once the season starts. He projects Nakua at 19.3 PPG, slightly higher than Jamar Chase at 19 PPG, with an edge in yards per reception despite Chase having more targets.

Insight page

Quentin Johnston

PositiveRole71:31

Johnston's ADP rose as a result of the Chargers' offseason momentum and attention to the offense; the hype around the team's improved situation lifted his draft stock.

Insight page

Ricky Pearsall

PositiveBreakout11:00

Matt Kelley acknowledges there is an upside case for Ricky Pearsall, noting it's hard to find a late-round wide receiver with more upside given his athleticism and the fact that he's in one of the top 10 offenses. However, Kelley prefers Mike Evans' target math and red zone role. Pearsall is discussed as a tier below Coker in Kelley's rankings, though he is ranked much higher everywhere else.

Insight page
PositiveValue21:36

Kelley identifies Pearsall as a value play on a top-10 offense where WR2s typically go many rounds earlier (citing Devontae Adams, Jamison Williams, T Higgins as comparables). Despite never exceeding 10 fantasy points per game and inconsistent usage, Pearsall offers upside as a late-round flyer on an elite passing attack; his ADP sits at WR42, making him a logical target once starting WRs are secured.

Insight page
PositiveRole22:00

Pearsall is athletic and explosive, excelling at catching the ball over the middle, breaking tackles, and scoring touchdowns in spike weeks. Kelley notes the entire 49ers passing game (outside Christian McCaffrey) is undervalued due to injury concerns and last year's poor performance, making San Francisco a gold mine of value across the board.

Insight page
NegativeProjection24:00

When Pearsall averages 30+ routes per game, he produces 12.12 fantasy points per game, demonstrating efficiency when involved in the offense. His polarizing profile—either exciting upside or avoid entirely—makes him a pure upside play at pick 90+, where injury risk is already baked into his ADP and the league-wide shift to RB-heavy drafting creates fewer competing upside plays.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup34:00

Pearsall struggles against Seattle's defense, which serves as his kryptonite matchup. This is a notable weakness in his schedule that limits upside in certain weeks.

Insight page
PositiveValue61:59

Matt Kelley uses Ricky Pearsall as an example of why default projections should not be used for draft decisions; Pearsall would never be drafted if sorted by default projections despite being a strong play, similar to how Jamir Gibbs should be preferred over Bijan Robinson despite lower default projections.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper61:59

Ricky Pearsall would not be drafted if relying solely on default projections as the fourth option, but Matt Kelley's rankings place him ahead of players like Bijan Robinson and Jameer Gibbs based on range-of-outcomes analysis rather than baseline projections, suggesting he is undervalued by projection-only approaches.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

NegativeRole65:23

Sam LaPorta is projected to be the number two target in the Lions offense, behind Amon Ra St. Brown, in an offense where Dan Campbell does not prioritize running up the score and most other receiving options are fungible.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

PositiveValue16:00

Matt Kelley is more than five spots ahead of consensus on Terry McLaurin in Player Profiler's rankings, citing favorable target math. McLaurin is a play where the target math is heavily in his favor, similar to Mike Evans.

Insight page

Travis Hunter

NegativeRole50:43

Matt Kelley projects Travis Hunter for only 58 targets and believes he will be on the field for 55-60% of offensive snaps, which may be generous. Hunter does not fit Jacksonville's offensive needs; with Parker Washington, Brian Thomas, Jacoby Myers, and Brenton Strange already in place, there is no impetus to play Hunter at wide receiver. The Jaguars are better off using him at cornerback if needed.

Insight page

Tre Harris

PositiveValue71:51

Harris's ADP did not rise significantly despite the Chargers' offseason momentum, making him an attractive target at his current draft price; Matt Kelley prefers to target Harris as a value play in the Chargers offense.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

PositiveValue43:01

Matt Kelley views Trevor Lawrence as an incredible value in rounds 7-10 for quarterbacks; he projects more passing yards than Brock Purdy and benefits from continuity and improved weapons in Jacksonville's offense.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveSleeper4:00

Matt Kelley recommends drafting Zay Flowers, suggesting he's an undervalued target in fantasy drafts based on his ranking and ADP relative to his projected production.

0:52This is the Mind of Mansion podcast. We are live with Pete Nova and we're going to talk about the player rankings.
0:59Everybody is starting to get ready. I was just at the deli and we'll talk about an interaction I had with some youths at the deli.
1:07I have an e-bike gang in my town. So we'll talk about that.
1:11We have some players that Pete and I disagree on, but there's also a handful of players out there that are just
1:18screaming buys based on where we have them ranked on Player Profiler and where other sites.
1:23Somehow the ADP, I don't know if it's broken.
1:26I don't know what it's going on. We're going to get it all figured out today on Player Profiler's Mind of Mansion program.
1:33So are you familiar with the youths, these e-bikes?
1:36At first, I thought you were going to say that a couple of young kids on bikes tried to jump you or
1:42something, but then I started reading the tweet a little bit more and I saw the interaction that you guys had.
1:49Was this in an Italian deli or what are we talking here?
1:53Well, first and foremost, we have a swarm, swarms, multiple swarms, e-bike gangs.
1:57I was just driving my hybrid car down the road, minding my own business.
2:01Next thing I know, on my right, on my left, in front of me, behind me, it's 20 middle schoolers on e-bikes bullying me off the road.
2:09And I'm like, last time I checked, you guys don't even have driver's licenses and shouldn't you be getting exercise?
2:16Back in my day, when I had a bike, I had to pedal the thing and I wasn't allowed to just ride
2:22it in the street with the cars. I don't understand how this is even possible.
2:27And then when I talk to people that have some connection to municipal laws, they're like, oh, we know it's a problem.
2:34Oh, they're thinking about passing laws. It's just, oh, the technology is outpacing the administration of the rules.
2:39We have to figure it out. I'm like, yeah, you got to figure it out.
2:44I mean, I feel very old and I feel super crusty by saying this.
2:48And because normally, you know, I'm Mr. I crashed my bike not long ago, screwed my shoulder up.
2:54You know, I used to, you know, ride BMX bikes in races when I was a kid.
2:59Like, you know, I'm not out here trying to, you know, ruin the fun of people that I mean, they're all good kids.
3:06It's not like this is like these are kids that are breaking into cars or anything.
3:11They're not doing anything technically illegal. It's just you can't believe it's allowed when you're driving down the road.
3:17You just can't believe it's allowed. And when you see a swarm of 20 kids on e-bikes, I was pretty intimidated.
3:24Yeah, a little scared. I was pretty intimidated by these 13 year olds.
3:28And so I went to a deli to get breakfast with my daughter after soccer.
3:32She had a little early morning soccer practice. Went to go get an egg sandwich.
3:37And I saw these e-bikes lined up in front of the deli.
3:41And I was like, oh, well, look at here.
3:44Look at here. Look at who's at the deli.
3:46The little e-bike gang, you know, I don't know.
3:49They really need to come up with like jackets and badges, logo.
3:53They need to really own this branding to be a real e-bike gang.
3:57I think that someone needs to take a leadership role.
4:00I hope they have a clubhouse somewhere. You know, certainly I would have been the first one if I was a kid
4:07to get one of these e-bikes and be part of the gang.
4:11Absolutely, I would do that. We were eating our sandwiches and then they were behind us.
4:16And I started hearing them talk about, guess what?
4:18Their fantasy drafts. And so they're talking about fantasy drafting and strategy and all these things.
4:23And so we were inevitably listening in on their conversations.
4:26And I'm like, you know, nodding to myself in agreement or shaking my head.
4:31No, that's not right. So much to my daughter's chagrin, we go to get up and I walk over there and I
4:38pointed all of them and I said, hey, kids, draft Zay Flowers.
4:41And I walked away. And then and I so I throw my paper plate away or whatever.
4:47And I'm heading out the door. As I'm walking out the door, a kid turns to me and he goes, what round?
4:53I whirled around and kept my finger out, my old man finger, my crusty old man finger.
4:59And I pointed to him and I said, after you draft Scadaboo.
5:02And I closed the door and we were gone.
5:05And my daughter was infuriated. Yeah, secondhand embarrassment. It reminds me of the Rocky.
5:10Rocky, you know, I think it was first Rocky movie when Rocky walks the girl down, walks the girl home and she
5:16flips him off at the end and says, screw you, creepo to him.
5:20I thought that's why you were going to say that they said to you after you told them the draft Zay Flowers and you turned around there.
5:29That would have been poetic then. But you didn't really say exactly what you what you have.
5:34Is this again, is this an Italian deli or what are we what are we what are we talking about here?
5:41What kind of what do we have? We get we have an Italian deli.
5:45Several Italian delis because we're in Connecticut. So we are sort of New York adjacent.
5:50We certainly have Italian delis. This is OK. This is not one of our signature Italian delis in town.
5:55However, this place is known for having the best chicken parm sandwich.
5:59OK, and you can tell because when you order the chicken parm sandwich, you can hear them drop it into the fryer.
6:06OK, so you can hear it sizzling in the fryer.
6:09Then it comes out super steaming hot with the cheese melting all around it with cherry peppers.
6:14It's incredible. It's a great sandwich. Well, it's funny you say that because I I'm not even kidding.
6:20I was like stressing to make sure that I got here ready for the show in time.
6:25And I was cooking dinner before and I made chicken parm.
6:29I did. I made it with an egg wash.
6:31I actually made my fresh sauce. It usually takes it.
6:34I mean, usually they say sauce should take hours, but I do fresh sauce and I can get it done in like 30 minutes.
6:42I know. No joke. Fresh mozzarella. All that. I swear on my life.
6:46I made chicken parm right before this. I even took a picture.
6:50I was going to post it on Twitter. Maybe I'll post it after the show.
6:54Please. Yeah. And, and mentioned me on Twitter. I am being more active on Twitter.
6:59It's been one of my, one of my second half of the year resolutions was to be more active on Twitter.
7:06I was up last night. I was tweeting like crazy as a tweet storm at fantasy underscore mansion.
7:11How do you follow you on Twitter? Uh, super Nova 38 with two hours.
7:15Super Nova 38 with two hours. Okay. Easy enough.
7:18Pete Nova on Twitter. And you'll find me. You'll find it that way too.
7:23You'll, you'll find him. It'd be no, no problem.
7:25Um, and, and by the way, I thought in, in, in honor of, of this, this encounter that I had with these
7:32youths, I decided to wear this shirt. Everyone is entitled to my opinion.
7:36What is that? Is that a barstool shirt? Where did you get that?
7:40I just, I made it. You made it. I made it.
7:44I made it because it's true. It's a truism.
7:46And I said, I wanted to make sure it was on a shirt and it's, it's a little tight.
7:52I really only wear it on shows. I can't really wear this outside for several reasons.
7:57A little shmedium. Yes, it's a shmedium and it's obnoxious.
8:00And, and so it's great for the show. Everyone knows that I turn up the obnoxiousness on the show, but man, am I a sweetheart in person?
8:09Oh man, that's the, that's the, that's the reputation.
8:12That's the rep of the pod father for sure.
8:14Super sweetheart in person, sweetheart, absolute sweetheart. And so there's several rankings up on player profile.com that I think people will find interesting.
8:21Certain players were like, oh yeah, they're, they're very bullish.
8:25Yeah. We're, we're not tied to consensus in any way.
8:28You're going to see some, some, some bullish takes.
8:30One of them that I can't really get my head around is how there is this just lockstep consensus that Puka Nakua
8:37is either wide receiver two or wide receiver three, but never wide receiver one.
8:42And when, when I look at our projections, you know, leveraging Bradley and all the smart people here, Billy, think about, think
8:48about who we have here, helping with projections. Puka Nakua, man.
8:52I mean, he is a step above every other wide receiver.
8:55Just when you look at what his probable target share is going to be his historic efficiency.
9:01And the, the only explanation, there is only one explanation that I can come up with.
9:06And that's that somehow, some way he is an off the field risk now because he had this, this incident where he was accused of biting a woman.
9:14And it has come out the picture, like a new picture has surfaced on social media of the bite mark.
9:20And so here it is, the bite mark. I have it up on there on the screen here.
9:26If you're following along on, you know, we're on X, a player profiler, Roto Underworld on X, Twitter and Facebook.
9:32Check us out at Roto Underworld on Facebook. We're also of course on YouTube.
9:37And there you can see, man, that's a pretty deep bite mark.
9:40It's pretty, pretty wild. Yeah. When you showed it to me, I was looking at it and I remember seeing the first
9:47picture of it when it came out initially. And I did not see that.
9:51So you must be chronically online a little bit these days because I'm usually on pretty heavily.
9:57And this is not something that I saw. I mean, this was on many, many sites have posted this.
10:03So you missed it. I mean, this is on you.
10:06This is not me like in the cracks and crevices of the internet.
10:10This is you. This is on you. If you want to be super online, if you want to be online supernova, you'd
10:17be finding this stuff on your own. That's the only explanation.
10:20That bite mark is the singular explanation because there's no target competition there in Los Angeles.
10:25There's no one that's a target magnet out of the backfield.
10:28There's no elite tight end to worry about. There's no wide receiver three.
10:32You can't even name the wide receiver three. Who is the wide receiver three?
10:37Is it Jordan Whittington? I think it's Mumfield. Is it Mumfield?
10:40Who the hell? I think it's Mumfield. Actually, go to playerprofiler.com slash news.
10:44We can pull that up. I think I saw.
10:47Yes, I think I saw that Mumfield actually is.
10:50He is the wide receiver three in Los Angeles.
10:53And I don't care. Why would I care? I mean, the wide receiver three is really just all of the tight ends on the team.
11:00If you just put them all and made them one player, that's really the wide receiver three at this point.
11:06It's going to be, you know, nobody's going to touch the target share of the tight ends after you get past the two wide receivers.
11:14So it's really just the two and then the rest.
11:17Yeah, I don't get it, man. I mean, I just don't get it given the target math.
11:23I'm very target mathy this year, but also focusing on upside.
11:26And that's going to be a big part of the show today.
11:30There's going to be some players we disagree about.
11:33We're going to talk about Ricky Pearsall. We're going to talk about Jalen Coker.
11:37And I know you hate Jalen Coker and you love Ricky Pearsall.
11:41And we're going to talk about it. I don't necessarily hate either of those guys, but I certainly love Jalen Coker.
11:47And I just found it interesting where we have Coker ranked in that Pearsall tier.
11:52But, I mean, Pearsall is in a tier way above Coker when you look everywhere else.
11:57So I thought I found that interesting. That's going to be something that we talk about.
12:02There's a lot to talk about. Just so I know, if you're drafting and you're at, say, the 103 and every wide
12:09receiver is available to you, are you going Puka?
12:11Now, for me, I am going Chase. I mean, my projections, I have Puka actually projected slightly higher, 19.3 versus Chase's 19.
12:18I think the appealing thing for Chase is that I do think he has more touchdown upside.
12:23And I know touchdowns aren't necessarily sticky. But when we're talking elite players, I mean, we know Jamar Chase is going to get into the end zone.
12:32And Puka is going to get there too. But I worry more about Devontae in the red zone than I worry about T.
12:39Higgins, who Higgins is still going to get his as well.
12:42I just feel like I'd rather – these guys are neck and neck.
12:46Puka, I have him as just – I think he's going to have more yards per reception.
12:52So that kind of is what really pushes him over the top.
12:55Their targets – I actually have Chase with more targets.
12:58But I just have Puka with more yards per reception.
13:02So, yeah, I think I'd rather go with Chase.
13:04I mean, you have Puka. You have the off-the-field stuff.
13:07I'm not super concerned. I don't think Puka is going to do something reckless and get in trouble in season.
13:14I mean, he's going into year four looking to secure a massive contract.
13:18Like, is this guy going to be that stupid to mess that up?
13:22I really don't think so. It's just one of those storylines in the off-season that's grown some traction and we're bored.
13:28But once he gets on the field, no one's going to remember it and it's going to be fine.
13:34I do worry more about Puka's health than I do Chase just because he's like a car accident, I feel like, on every play.
13:42And he puts his body like out there much, much more than I would say Chase does.
13:47So that I worry about a little bit too.
13:50So it's really just they're neck and neck for me, but I just prefer Chase.
13:54I think they'll be behind in games more as well.
13:57So they'll have to throw. Where McVay does like to have more of a balanced attack as well.
14:03I think there's a higher probability that Devontae Adams misses games this year than T.
14:08Higgins. I could absolutely see T. Higgins smashing this year.
14:11I think we're just ahead of consensus on T.
14:14Higgins. I think T. Higgins is a nice little value this year, especially in Dynasty.
14:18T. Higgins, because he's reached the age apex, he has become very affordable, a great buy in Dynasty.
14:24I actually have drafted several T. Higgins in startups even because he's one of those guys that just happens to be falls a little bit.
14:31He falls a couple of slots past where he should, given his age and given the situation.
14:37Rams, Cowboys, Lions, Bengals. These are simply teams I want everybody.
14:40That's right. There's just you don't have enough picks.
14:43The problem is we don't have picks, right? The first few picks, you're choosing between players on these top teams.
14:49And then pretty soon they're all gone. They're all gone.
14:52But you believe that the next team to target would be San Francisco?
14:56So it's a tricky spot, right? Because Buffalo, I have Buffalo projected for the second most points this year, right?
15:03Touchdowns wise, I have them at 50. I have Detroit at number one.
15:07But Buffalo just doesn't have a lot of interesting pieces.
15:10And they have expensive pieces. You're paying through the nose for James Cook.
15:14You're paying for Josh Allen, right? Kinkade's kind of cheap and affordable.
15:17And DJ Moore hasn't gotten there yet. But I think people will start to get more interested as camp reports come out.
15:24He looks really good. All this stuff, yada, yada, yada.
15:27When I look at San Francisco, they come across as a team that I think I haven't projected six most points in the NFL, right?
15:35Six most touchdowns. And they're a team that only has one player inside the top 50.
15:40And that's Christian McCaffrey. So that's a team that I want to take chances on, right?
15:45Mike Evans, I think it's a beautiful landing spot for him.
15:48And I know we'll talk more about Mike at some point, maybe today, maybe now.
15:53But Mike Evans, I think he's a really, really- Why not now?
15:57Why not now? Why not now? I mean, we're more than five spots ahead in our player rankings on Mike Evans and Terry McLaurin.
16:04These are both plays where the target math is in their favor, heavily in their favor, okay?
16:10Mike Evans has this offense to himself. I understand there's a Bulls case, an upside case for Ricky Pearsall.
16:15It's hard to find a late-round wide receiver with more upside, given his athleticism, given the fact that he's in one of
16:22these top 10 offenses, than Ricky Pearsall. But Mike Evans is competing for targets with non-wide receivers primarily.
16:28A running back out of the backfield and a tight end coming off an Achilles rupture.
16:33It's going to be Mike Evans in the red zone.
16:36It's going to be Mike Evans. Mike Evans, he has a lot to prove.
16:40He's chasing history. He's solidifying a Hall of Fame.
16:43It's just, it's so, I mean, he's not that far away, right?
16:47He puts together one or two more productive seasons, thousand-yard seasons.
16:50I mean, he's going to, he's going to rock it right up into the top five receiving yards leaders of all time.
16:57And if he, he is a threat to be the all-time receiving yards leader when his career is over, I think he sees all of this coming.
17:05And all the reports out of San Francisco are that he is a leader.
17:10He is leading by example, more than anything else.
17:12That he is one of these guys that is showing up early, that is leaving late, that's in great shape already.
17:19And you can tell he wants it. Like this is one of those seasons where he's coming in healthy finally and looking really, really sharp.
17:27And everyone around the organization's like, this is amazing.
17:30Like we have, we have a Ferrari finally in the garage at wide receiver.
17:34Yeah. Evans, it's, it's, we have reached a point where the there's, there's always a lot of, um, there's always different philosophies in fantasy football, right?
17:42And it's always been, you know, people very scared of the older players.
17:46And I think me and you talked about Mike Evans last year, right?
17:50It was same similar time last year. And we talked about Evans and it's just, we get these massive discounts on these
17:57older players because people are just scared of the age.
18:00Like that's just really what it comes down to.
18:03But Evans, the, the way he plays is a guy that like it's an called Bolden ask in a sense of like
18:10physical big body guy that can still score touchdowns will be a threat in the red zone.
18:15And the truth is George Kittle coming off of the Achilles rupture.
18:19I don't know how involved he's going to be in the red zone.
18:23And just as like, Hey, this is the number one option, right?
18:26Like I think red zone target share, like I have it like a pretty close.
18:31Split between CMC is the number one. I have Evans like right there at number two and Kittle's like slightly behind him at number three.
18:39Evans should have, should be looked at in my opinion, as the Devante Adams of this season from what we saw Adams do last year.
18:46Right? I mean, keep in mind, Baker Mayfield looked phenomenal to start the year last year, but he also was playing hurt.
18:53Rock party's a more accurate thrower of the football as well.
18:57And so he's going to be able to put it in places for Evans to, to just make simple adjustments on the football.
19:04And that's something I look forward to where with Baker, there were times he had to make tougher catches.
19:10I love Baker, but he doesn't have that touch and accuracy that Purdy does have.
19:14And Purdy just has that timing and rhythm. He just understands leverage of defenders much better than Baker.
19:20I would say Baker's just a more athletically gifted player.
19:23He's got a stronger arm and he can move around better.
19:26And he's just, he's just tough. Right? So I'm high on Evans.
19:30I have him somewhere around 14 points per game, which really, if you look at the math and look who is projected
19:37at 14 points per game, he's going at least like a round behind where I expect players to score points in the round ahead of them.
19:45So yeah, I'm bullish on Evans. I mean, you go back to 2023, he said, how many years has he had great
19:52quarterback play couple with Tom Brady and that's it?
19:55Is that it really? This is, this may be like the second best quarterback he's ever played with.
20:00And 2023, he put up 1900 plus air yards, had one of his best yards per reception season, at least in the last five, five, six years.
20:09There's been very little drop-off. Look at the target rate last year.
20:12The target rate was incredibly high, 27.6% targets per route run.
20:16That was top 10 in the NFL. Never plays out of the slot.
20:20Never goes in motion. They haven't even had to rely on any tricks yet.
20:24Everything he's done so far in his career has been posting up on the outside to give maximum width to all of his teammates and play space.
20:33And he's also absorbing the number one alpha corner on any given play is more, more likely to be locked up on Mike Evans than anyone else.
20:41His motion rate last year, all stats available on playerprofiler.com 3.3%.
20:44That ranked 173 among NFL wide receivers. Literally every other wide receiver in the league went into motion more.
20:50If they just put him in motion a little bit more, just 5%, maybe 6%.
20:55I mean, I don't know what he's capable of.
20:58I've never seen Mike Evans in a situation where they're setting him up with easy targets.
21:03This might be the year. If I'm Kyle Shanahan and I see how uncreative Mike Evans has been deployed throughout his entire
21:09career, I'm thinking my wheels are turning because every single defensive coordinator has a history of how Mike Evans has been played.
21:16Some successfully, some less successfully. But they've never seen him out in motion a lot.
21:21It's not something that's even being accounted for. I can promise you that.
21:25So week one, week two, week three, they start putting him in motion more.
21:29Oh my, I'm not saying they will. I'm just saying these are all possibilities that provide upside that is not being baked in.
21:36Now there's also upside that's not being baked in with Ricky Pearsall, right?
21:40Ricky Pearsall has never produced more than 10 fantasy points per game.
21:44He's had a couple of good weeks in his rookie year and he had a couple of good weeks last year.
21:51And then a lot of weeks where either wasn't getting the usage or he simply wasn't being productive.
21:56He was being erased like he did against Seattle.
21:59But there's upside there in that, okay, this is a player on a top offense and the wide receiver twos on most
22:06of the top offenses go many rounds earlier, whether it be Devontae Adams, whether it be Jamison Williams.
22:11So T Higgins. So just based on, hey, I want the wide receiver two on an elite offense.
22:17And you scroll down the board. There's this giant light shining on Ricky Pearsall.
22:21And I do like that. He's athletic. Like I have, I do.
22:25I do like that. Like I, I like, I like athletes.
22:28I like guys that are explosive and they catch the ball over the middle.
22:33They can break a tackle and score a touchdown.
22:36And certainly Ricky Pearsall is really good at that.
22:38Like we've seen him do that in some of these big games, some of these spike weeks, these occasional spike weeks that he's had.
22:46So I see it with Ricky Pearsall as well.
22:49This is just one of those, one of those teams where the entire passing game other than Christian McCaffrey.
22:55And you can even argue Christian McCaffrey is probably being drafted a slot or two behind where he should be.
23:01And you could argue Mike Evans being drafted around after he should be Kittle drafted around after, if not more than he should be Pearsall with Pearsall.
23:09It's tough to even use rankings and projections on Pearsall because it's a pure upside play.
23:14And once you have your starting wide receivers, why not?
23:17Right. Why not just go Pearsall once you have your starting wide receivers.
23:21So regardless of what his projection is when everyone's healthy, it doesn't really much matter.
23:26So this is something that you and I talked about before the show.
23:30And I wanted to make sure that we mentioned it, that this is one of those top offenses.
23:35And Purdy is part of this where there's a discount across the board because of injuries, because they face planted so bad last year.
23:43And the San Francisco 49ers are a great source of value.
23:46And I'm just embarrassed. I haven't been on that all year.
23:50There's a bunch of other teams that I'm like, this team's a great source of value, whether the running game here, the passing game there.
23:58But San Francisco's just, I think, a gold mine right now.
24:01Yeah. And I would say one thing, too, with Pearsall, when we talk about his average points per game, you know, last
24:08year when he, when he averaged 30 routes a game or more, he averaged 12.2, 12.12 points per game.
24:14So when he's involved, when he's on the field, when he's playing and he's running routes, like he's been involved in the offense.
24:21And I think that's, that's what matters when you talk about like, just again, unfortunately, we brought it up.
24:27Like there's some guys where they've got injuries and they get the benefit of the doubt.
24:32And there's some guys that don't Ricky Pearsall. It's a love, hate relationship.
24:36You either are really, really excited to draft him or you're like, I want nothing to do with this guy.
24:42There's really not many people that are kind of somewhere in the middle.
24:46It's pretty polarizing player to talk about, but to me, and like you said, like why at pick 90 at that point, you're really going for upside plays.
24:55And the way that this season in ADP is shaking out, like wide receiver running backs get really pushed up the board, right?
25:02Really, really pushed up the board. And then it's really wide receivers.
25:05Tight ends have kind of fallen back this year.
25:08And even elite quarterbacks have fallen back. There's only one quarterback going into top 36 this year.
25:13Last year we saw five. So, you know, that's making it.
25:17So there's just not as many upside plays and you're getting a guy that's, that could be a gold mine here.
25:23If he stays healthy and on the field. Yes.
25:26If he doesn't stay healthy, that's really the only case.
25:29I see him not paying off, but for a pick 90 price, the injury risk is, is super baked in, uh, you
25:36know, for, for where you're getting him on the board.
25:39Think about this at wide receiver, because of the target consolidation that's been going on around the league.
25:45Whenever you are running more 12 personnel and 13 personnel, which is the current league wide trend.
25:50You have some of these teams also that are talking about split back sets, bringing back the full back.
25:56This dude, you're just, you're what you have to do for all these creative new formations.
26:01These offensive coordinators keep talking about these press conferences.
26:04It requires pulling wide receivers off the field. And we've seen the trend, the downtrend of wide receiver two and wide receiver three production.
26:11So if you just want to just do the quick back of the napkin math is how many wide receiver ones are there in the league?
26:1932. How many top 10 wide receiver twos are there right on top 10 offenses?
26:2410, 42, 42 wide receivers. So pretty much you're not getting a lot after wide receiver 42.
26:29Given that it does make more sense this year than almost any other year that I can remember to go robust RB,
26:36to start a draft with three RBs early, especially in best ball in seasonal leagues, redraft leagues.
26:41You're going to see a lot of winning teams that start running back, running back.
26:46And that used to be like the, the, the clown start five years ago, people starting running back, running back were laughed at.
26:53I was laughing. It was the boomer start. I was doing this.
26:57I was doing this before it was cool. Okay.
27:00And I was laughed out of the room and I was like, I don't know guys kind of, I guess you don't know how to draft wide receivers.
27:08If you're, you must have a wide receiver around two, I can't go.
27:12And then all these round two wide receivers would Boston, but it's, it's too late.
27:17It's, it's January. And my victory lap really is not resonating with many, especially the, the analysts that were wrong this year.
27:24It's like, okay, we see finally the coming to Jesus on this, but it took all these offensive coordinators, basically abandoning 11 personnel for us to get there.
27:32Fine. All good. So again, just want to make sure everyone has the green light from me to start running back, running
27:39back in, in whatever fantasy league you're in. Absolutely.
27:42And if you want to go RB times three early, like three running backs in the first four rounds in best ball, please, by all means do that.
27:51That means you have to draft fewer, fewer running backs.
27:54And then you're basically in a tournament setting. You're just betting on those three guys staying healthy.
27:59If they stay healthy and then all these wide receivers are stacking up later.
28:03Some of them hit, or they just get a spike week here, a spike week there.
28:08You can piece together a team that wins literally like tens of thousands of dollars.
28:13Some of these platforms like fast draft underdog and so on.
28:16So there, then there, then there's the question of, well, okay, then why are you guys so far ahead on Jalen Coker?
28:23Because last time I checked, uh, Jalen Coker is not on a top 10 offense and he's not the wide receiver one.
28:30So what are we even doing? Why, how could you have him adjacent to Ricky Pierce?
28:35All it's like, well, last time I checked, Ted McMillan also isn't healthy and there's no tight end of consequence.
28:41There's no running backs that command targets. There's not a wide receiver three.
28:45Anyone can name. Is it John Mechie? Who is it?
28:48Is it Xavier Leggett? I don't know. Probably Chris Brazel.
28:52That's still, he's a rookie. Is it Chris? It might be Chris Brazel.
28:56Probably not because you know, these, these rookies, they get buzz in camp.
29:00And then once the real training camp starts, not OTAs and preseason starts, then suddenly these non first round wide receivers tend to fall away.
29:07Especially the ADP. The ADP also tells a story where the ADP of a Chris Brazel in June is going to be
29:14very different than the ADP of a Chris Brazel at the end of August, especially after these high stakes leagues and they start coming out.
29:22And I will say that player profile are proud to announce a partnership with the NFC or NFFC as it was previously known.
29:29This is my favorite high stakes format because it's start three wide receivers.
29:33There's third round reversal. It's, it's, it's full PPR.
29:36And so I just want to make sure that people know that we have some, we have some, some sort of codes
29:43that are available when you're, when you're going to play on the, the NFFC.
29:47There's a handful of codes we're going to giving out, but the first code that people need is first time 100.
29:54Okay. You go first time 100. If you use first time 100, you get $100 off your first entry.
29:59So if you just do $150 league and you use code first time 100, then it's only 50 bucks.
30:05And these are huge payouts, right? Then we also have profiler 150 gives you $150 off any single entry in the Circa world championship.
30:13One of the, one of their signature events. And that's not just for first time people.
30:18So we have these, these player profiler codes and we're going to put them in the show description as well.
30:24So check that out where even if you've already played at the NFC slash NFFC, you can use a code like profiler
30:31150 to get $150 off an entry at Circa world championship.
30:34Profiler 100 to get $100 off at the NFFC prime time.
30:38What I love is that these codes work, not just for the first time deposit or certainly first time 100 to get
30:44a full $100 off your first entry. That's great.
30:47But then there's also these other codes where anytime you want to enter a tournament, you get a huge discount.
30:53And so that's from our friends at the NFC, the new, the new name of the NFFC, because the NFFC and the FFWC, they got and got together.
31:02And so now they're offering sort of a combined contest list.
31:06There's a lot more contests there. I would suggest everyone checking that out.
31:10So Jalen Coker specifically has upside that I don't think many, many, many people see because it's not necessarily true that Ted
31:16McMillan is going to be Ted McMillan. He didn't participate in OTAs.
31:20And if you had to pick one team that may struggle to run the ball where you think, oh, this is a
31:27team that's going to be running the ball up and down the field.
31:31They're very run heavy. The problem is their offensive line has been getting injured.
31:35They're probably the most injured offensive line of the off season.
31:39The issue is it's harder to run the ball.
31:41And yes, I know that Bryce Young is going to have fewer seconds to throw the ball as well, but that doesn't
31:48necessarily mean they're going to throw the ball less.
31:51That is one of my favorite fallacies to take advantage of that.
31:55Oh, their offensive lines degraded. So then the entire offense suffers.
31:58Actually, what happens when the offensive line is degraded, the running game suffers a lot more because they're going to have to sit back and throw.
32:06Sure, there's going to be more sacks. So let's say there's a sack.
32:10OK, now they're looking at third and 15. Guess what you're going to get?
32:15What are you going to get? You're going to get an 11 yard completion with soft coverage to Jalen Coker.
32:21Jalen Coker is super efficient. He's a great football player.
32:24I'm not saying he's Ted McMillan. And there are some Ian Harditz, certainly over at Roto Wire.
32:29He's very bullish. There are some people out there that know what they're doing and are bullish on Jalen Coker.
32:35But we've been out ahead on this guy forever.
32:38And so if I had to say, OK, yeah, we have the back of the napkin math, 42 wide receivers, plus probably
32:45three others in specific situations where, OK, the wide receiver ahead of him has had a lost offseason and the team might throw more than expected.
32:53So there's going to be a couple of those examples.
32:56But in all those cases, that wide receiver like a Jalen Coker has to be good at football.
33:02You agree. Jalen Coker, very good at football. Yeah, I would.
33:05It's really hard. I mean, here's the thing. When we do these projections, right, it's really easy to kind of just say
33:12there's just no way this guy gets to this.
33:15And you start to say like, you know, sometimes you say, oh, this guy's going to have a great year.
33:21And then you start to say, well, how does one get to a great year?
33:26How does one get to that point? Right. Is it coaching?
33:29Is it putting on muscle mass? Is it just rehabbing and coming into the year healthy, which we talked about Tet, who's
33:36already kind of got a little bit of a dinged up foot right now.
33:40He hasn't he hasn't practiced all offseason yet with a team.
33:44And it's hard because, you know, we were talking about a pre-show and we talked about the draft like Jalen Coker.
33:50We were all like, this is a massive, massive draft for Jalen Coker because they didn't really bring anybody in free agency.
33:57They got Chris Brazel, who's really more of a downfield flyer.
34:00Like I don't expect him to have a massive target share.
34:04And then you just look at the targets. Like I expect this team to be playing from behind like a decent amount.
34:11Right. Like, I mean, their defense is solid, but it's not it's not going to be a top 15, top 10 defense.
34:17In my opinion, if you give more targets to Ted, he's pushing like 150 and he had 122 last year.
34:24Well, who else does it go to? I could see Xavier Leggett maybe getting around 50, maybe Jatavion Sanders strikes a little
34:31bit of a step forward and get somewhere on the 60s.
34:34But it's like, where do these targets go? And like when people try to like, you know, when people that aren't looking
34:41at the data and the numbers and people say, oh, data, data, data, I don't want to hear about the data.
34:47It's all and we're nerding out. It's like, OK, well, there's a pie and we have to cut up the pie.
34:54Where do the targets go? And for Coker, it's like it's impossible for me to give him like less than a 20
35:01percent target share because who does the targets go to?
35:04I mean, I expect to have anywhere from 25 to 30 percent target share.
35:08They didn't bring any big dominant is going to take targets.
35:11So like I feel comfortable about Ted. But it's like with Jalen Coker, like it's not even like we're not asking a
35:18ton, but it's like you just look around in this room and it's like who is getting more than a 12, 15
35:25percent target share outside of those two guys. And I struggle to find it.
35:29And when I do try to find it, it feels like I'm forcing it.
35:34Again, it doesn't really make sense. Now, I understand that Jalen Coker's like yards per route run, not exceptional, right?
35:40But there is one metric that I that I zeroed in on with Jalen Coker and that was his yards per target.
35:47His catch rate has been incredible. He had a 76.7 percent catch rate and a 100 percent true catch rate.
35:53One hundred percent. That's why I know he's good at football.
35:56That's it. Because every catchable target that he had, he caught last year.
36:00Now, it wasn't an incredible number. Get 43 targets of those 43 targets.
36:04Everyone that was catchable, he caught. And, you know, so you're going to have a couple of guys that are late round
36:11picks that work their asses off and are just super efficient.
36:15And it's just a it's just a matter of time before they get an opportunity and they crush.
36:20Who is his best comparable player on player profiler?
36:23Michael Wilson. Michael Wilson. So if something happens and there's a setback with Tett McMillan's foot, everyone's going to be saying, oh,
36:30yeah, you know, he was a top 20 wide receiver last year, maybe even top 10.
36:35But that was with Tett McMillan out. When Tett McMillan plays, he's like a 10 fancy points per game guy.
36:41And so he's not actually that good. And then in 2027, don't draft Jalen Coker.
36:46You can already see this happening. You can already see this play out.
36:50Exactly. You know exactly how this is going to play out.
36:53So, yeah, I think he is the exception that proves the rule.
36:57I think what you do is you find you can find these 42 wide receivers that are worth drafting.
37:03And then the fun part for us is finding the wide receivers that are the exceptions that prove the rule like a Coker.
37:10They're actually there. The easiest way to find them is with the target math.
37:14Like I said, there's there's target math. And when you when you lay out that offense and who's going to be catching,
37:21they're going to be playing from behind with a with an offensive line that is going to make it harder to run the ball.
37:29That is how I think about the Carolina offense.
37:31And that's why I'm bullish on Coker from an opportunity standpoint.
37:35And his yards per target and catch rate are the reasons I'm bullish on Coker from an efficiency standpoint.
37:41And look at his athleticism. He has just as much burst as Ricky Pearsall.
37:45So it's not like he's he's one of these like technicians that doesn't have the athletic upside.
37:50No, no, no. There's up there. The only thing holding him back is Bryce Young.
37:55And that's a big thing to hold. That's a big.
37:58I get it. It's a small thing in that.
38:01Bryce Young is small, but it's a big. It's the reason it's the reason if he were on a different offense, he
38:08would be being drafted many rounds earlier. If he were drafted in the first round by the Carolina Panthers originally, I mean,
38:14can you imagine how excited everyone would be? They'd be a lot more excited than they would be about Ricky Pearsall.
38:21They were how excited they are about Ricky Pearsall, who has similar burst to Jalen Coker.
38:26Ricky Pearsall is the fourth option on his team.
38:29Jalen Coker is the entrenched surefire number two option when and if Tet is even healthy.
38:34And so if there was better quarterback playing Carolina, you could see Coker going two, three rounds ahead of Ricky Pearsall.
38:40So I think one of our goals in this show would be to identify at least three guys.
38:46So we get like a top 45 wide receivers.
38:49That's just, hey, we have back of the napkin that gives us 42 and then we'll get three more.
38:54Just super, super. I mean, the most basic approach here.
38:58By the way, Ricky Pearsall is actually right on the nose wide receiver 42 in ADP, ironically enough.
39:03But I'm sitting here. Thank you. But he has more upside than probably three or four or five, even 10 guys ranked ahead of him.
39:11Yeah, no, I agree. And Coker really is interesting because when I do look at the projections, I mean, he's ADP's like in the 120s.
39:19I didn't think he was going that late until we started talking about it, but.
39:23It doesn't make any sense. This is why this show is called ADP arbitrage.
39:28It doesn't make sense. The target math, the upside.
39:30And again, there is upside with Jalen Coker. You heard it here first.
39:34Apparently it, it doesn't add up, man. It doesn't add up.
39:38That's why I put it in lights. It's like if you're drafting Ricky Pearsall at the moment you're thinking about drafting Ricky Pearsall.
39:45You might also consider Jalen Coker. Yeah. You could go for like a, like if you need a running back in that
39:52round, in that range and you like maybe Rashad white, or you are like a Jonathan.
39:57I mean, maybe you don't want to take Jonathan Brooks because you don't want to double up on a bad offense there.
40:04But I mean, if you need a running back and there's somebody you like there, you might say, well, you know what?
40:10Like I'm getting maybe not the ceiling of Ricky Pearsall, but I'm getting pretty much at least the floor, maybe a higher floor than Ricky Pearsall is.
40:19Well, I would say it's tough. The ceiling for Pearsall is higher for sure.
40:23I mean, this is, this is one of the harder thing.
40:27Like who actually has more upside because, because the other thing that I look at, and by the way, I have three napkins at this point.
40:35We have to get another napkin because there's another back of the napkin, which is, I just like guys that play in the South.
40:42If they play in the South, I like them, especially the NFC South.
40:46This has been true for years. Bad defenses. Many years.
40:49I mean, how long has this been true? What's up with the NFC South?
40:54They cannot find a defense and they certainly can't find anyone to play in the secondary to stop these guys.
41:00So whether it's Olave, you go down to Godwin on Bullish on, you get, it's just another reason to, you're going to
41:07have six games against the NFC South. That's just another reason.
41:10And then meanwhile, Pearsall, some tough defenses, you know, you know that he, he's not going to be able to do anything against Seattle.
41:17That's that's his kryptonite. Yeah. Well, Evans will be there.
41:21So Evans, Evans probably gets, you know, weather spoon, but it's, yeah, it's, I mean, listen, I like Coker.
41:26I do like Coker. I do like Coker. I'm glad you admitted it.
41:30Both things can be right though. Both guys can be undervalued.
41:34I like them. I like comparing them because they're like adjacent in our rankings and then we can debate, kind of debate them.
41:41But really at the end of the day, like these are just, these, these are guys we like, especially if you go
41:48robust RB, you're, you're going to, if you, if you're going robust RB, I'm going to lean a little bit more Coker.
41:55Cause I think Coker also has a higher floor because he is the number two option as opposed to number four option.
42:01So if you're going robust RB, probably Coker. And if you're going to draft some wide receivers early, if you're going to
42:08draft like JSN or someone early, then probably you're going to have your starting lineup and your flex are all going to be accounted for.
42:16Even at the NFFC with the three wide receivers is if you're at that point and Pierce saw still on the board
42:23that he is the ideal upside bench player, you just, you don't have to play him in week one.
42:29That's what I love about a guy like Pierce.
42:32All, if you can get him at a point where you don't have to play him week one, then you can just see how he looks.
42:40You can see how they're going to use him and it, it, it see how George Kittle looks, see how Mike Evans looks there.
42:47The one thing about San Francisco is there is a lot of unknowns.
42:51One of these teams I think is on the fringe Jacksonville.
42:54Do you consider Jacksonville to be a top 10 offense?
42:58I do. Uh, I'm, I'm, I'm excited. I'm excited for it.
43:01I mean, man, I, I, I, I'm, I'm high on Parker.
43:04I know, I know that the wide receivers are very, very big discussion.
43:08I think Trevor Lawrence is also an incredible value as well.
43:12Uh, we're dropping on player profiler tomorrow, uh, quarterbacks that go pretty much rounds seven to 10 that you can target if
43:19you're not going for elite quarterbacks and Barack Purdy and Trevor Lawrence are both in that video.
43:24Would you rather have Purdy or Lawrence? I'd still probably rather have Purdy.
43:28Uh, just because I haven't projected for more yards.
43:31Um, I haven't projected for more yards and I just, I know the continuity and I honestly think you can argue the
43:38point that, that his weapons got better this off season.
43:41And we already know the offense is, is going to be really, really good.
43:45Did you know that they signed Mike Evans there in San Francisco?
43:49Oh, I heard that they did sign him. Yeah.
43:52I heard that. Yeah. I heard that too. I think we might've talked about it at some point, but I can't remember.
43:58It's been so long. It's been so long since we talked about them.
44:02Well, just tell me about the Jaguars though. Cause you brought them up for a reason.
44:07I mean, are you a detractor for the Jaguars?
44:10Because I get the vibe that maybe you are, or maybe you're just trying to poke around and see where I'm at.
44:17Most of these teams that are outside the top five.
44:20So we agree. They're not a top five offense.
44:23I generally like to pick one of the, the phases of the offense to, to invest in, whether it be the running game or the passing game.
44:31I'm on the passing game in Jacksonville because, uh, you know, I'm, I'm just, uh, I can't get there on tootin.
44:38I can't get there. Can't get there at ADP.
44:41Can't do it. Can't do it. And there's no upside there with, with Chris Rodriguez.
44:45It's just, it's a touchdown play. Maybe you go Chris Rodriguez for touchdowns, deep dynasty leagues.
44:50I have a lot of LaQuint Allen, but that's more of a passing game play because it's satellite back.
44:56You keep hearing that Jacksonville is very, very eager to extend Parker Washington at value.
45:01Parker Washington and Jalen Coker might as well be brothers at this point.
45:05These guys were late round picks. They dealt with, uh, struggles getting into the league at all.
45:10Parker Washington more because of injuries in college and Jalen Coker, because he went to Holy cross.
45:15And one of the reasons I know Jalen Coker is good at football, regardless of any metrics is because how, how, how
45:22quickly he saw the field as an undrafted free agent.
45:25He'll set a record for how quickly he saw the field and got meaningful snaps as an undrafted free agent.
45:31So right there, I knew. And then the a hundred percent true catch rate, right?
45:36And then with Parker, all you're hearing is that this guy is a maniac that he, I mean, maniacal work ethic, like
45:43the greatest work ethic in the league to the point where, and this is why you listen to the show.
45:49This is why you watch the show on YouTube.
45:52This is why you listen to the show on podcasts because you hear some of these things.
45:57Parker Washington doesn't have workout metrics. So we really have no idea how athletic he is in informal testing that scouts did
46:04a Parker Washington at the college level had him pegged to like a four, five ish 40.
46:09And we have him best comparable to Jeremy Macklin on player profile, which I think is absolutely fair, but his measurables also align with Jerry rice.
46:17That's great. That's you gotta, you gotta let that one breathe.
46:21I'm waiting to hear the, I'm waiting to hear why.
46:24And there's only one player. There's only one player because Jerry rice predates like really cops, right?
46:29It's a, he was at a small school, right?
46:32And does he have, does he even have a 40 time that you can even trust who knows, right?
46:38Our data on him is, is, is not very good at all, but we have a player page for him.
46:44Even they don't, don't pay attention to it. There's, it's all nonsense.
46:48I would, no one knows his breakout age is like 30.
46:51No one knows it's not correct. We don't even know how to calculate it.
46:55He's so old, but he was so great by far and away the best player.
47:00There is only one player in the NFL comparable to Jerry rice on player profile.
47:05Do you know who it is? I'm going to say it's Parker Washington.
47:09Cause I know you said Jeremy Macklin. So I guess not.
47:12Jeremy Macklin is not, but CD lamb is. So CD lamb is the only player comp to Jerry rice on the site.
47:19And if there was to be another player comp to Jerry rice on player profiler, it is probably going to be Parker Washington.
47:26Parker Washington is showing up at 5. AM to the facility.
47:30He's one of these guys that has to get special permission from the coaches to get a special key card and like a special parking spot.
47:38So he could live in the facility full time.
47:40He is a maniacal obsessed individual and they love him.
47:44They love him. And if there's any reason to be slightly concerned about Brian Thomas, it's that he's simply going to be
47:50the second banana that he's not going to be the wide receiver one that his target share is going to be at least 5% less than Parker Washington.
47:59And then if he is competing for targets in, in that wide receiver to chair with Jacoby Myers, Jacoby Myers has never
48:06dropped below like wide receiver two on his team.
48:09He's one of the most consistently wide receiver to players.
48:12He's always able to achieve wide receiver to level target share.
48:15So then where do you, where, where is Brian Thomas in this situation?
48:19You're, you're hoping Brian Thomas delivers the spike weeks.
48:22And certainly I believe that's the case. And that's part of the math with Trevor Lawrence is if you do believe that
48:29we're in for a bounce back season for Brian Thomas.
48:32And I do. And you like Parker Washington. I don't like Parker Washington.
48:36I love Parker Washington, but then I also am aware of the truth.
48:40That is Jacoby Myers and how much they love Brenton strange there.
48:44Suddenly it's like, wait a second. Well, number one, tootin's not getting any targets like right there.
48:49Like tootin's not getting any targets. Forget tootin, forget the dream that is tootin target share.
48:54Get out of here. It's not going to happen.
48:57It's going to be those four guys. Forget, forget Travis Hunter.
49:00If you have, if you have Parker Washington showing up at 5 a.m.
49:04Every day and you have Brian Thomas and you have Jacoby Myers, you don't need, you don't need him.
49:10You don't need Trevor, Travis Hunter. Forget Travis Hunter.
49:13There's no need for him. There's no impetus, right?
49:16There's not, there's not. It's like, uh, it's like in, like in soccer.
49:20If you have two strikers and, but you play one striker, one guy up top, but that striker is also fast.
49:26You could just play him on the wing. And that's just what happens.
49:30Like he, there's no room for him to play striker, but your team is way better off if he's on the field.
49:37Well, Jacksonville's way better off having a great football player like Travis Hunter on the field.
49:42It's just at the quarterback position. That's where they're better off.
49:45If they want to win games, they're going to put them at corner.
49:49They're going to park them at corner. Last thing they need is another wide receiver.
49:54Given those three guys are exactly what we thought they were.
49:58I believe Brian Thomas is going to be exactly what we thought he was, which he's going to give you a thousand yards on 99 targets.
50:06That's what Brian Thomas is. And he's going to give you plenty of spike weeks to help you in best ball.
50:12And it's going to be great. And he's going to be frustrating in seasonal leagues.
50:17You have to keep playing him in flex and just eat, you know, eat the zeros.
50:22It's going to happen. And those that want, that are in deeper leagues that want a consistent flex, they're going to go ahead and plug in Jacoby Myers.
50:30And everyone that wants a late round tight end with some upside and a good offense is going to go Brenton strange.
50:37I think he's a better player than a guy like Jake Ferguson.
50:41Like you're what you're getting in Jake Ferguson is what you're getting in Brenton strange with a little more upside.
50:47So therefore, yeah, I love this entire offense, but I just want to be on record saying that we could be in for something special.
50:55And then narrative around Parker Washington could, could go places this year.
50:59And, uh, and it's, it's late July and I'm already there comparing Parker Washington to Jerry rice.
51:04Yeah. There, there, there are a lot of narratives around the Jaguars.
51:08And honestly, there, there's a lot of take lock around the Jaguars too.
51:12Right. I think people are, you know, if I, if I have to hear another person comp Travis Hunter to, you know,
51:18the highest wide receiver drafted until since Calvin Johnson, like she's going to pull my hair out.
51:24Like, I mean, I think when you look at the offense and when you, when you know ball and you, and you
51:31watch what actually happened down the stretch, Parker Washington was the best wide receiver on the field by and large, they're going to give him an extension, right?
51:39The Parker Washington situation is funny because they're going to income to an extension.
51:44It's going to happen, right? It's been reported that they've been trying, whether that's in the middle of camp, whether he holds
51:50out in camp, which I don't think that's going to happen, but he's going to get an extension.
51:56He'll be there long-term. The truth is if Parker Washington gets an extension long-term, they just extended Brendan strange and Jacoby Myers got an extension last year.
52:04The only thing people will say is, well, that means BTJ is out on his way out.
52:10I don't see that happening either because Brian Thomas Jr.
52:13is, it would be like the lions letting go of Jamison Williams.
52:16Why? Yeah. It's because, because people think the NFL is like fantasy football.
52:20It's like the owner that comes to you when you have three quarterbacks on your roster and super flex, and they decided
52:27to punt the position or get really greedy in the startup draft in a dynasty.
52:32And they got Michael Penix on their roster and Baker Mayfield are their two quarterbacks now.
52:37Right. And, you know, because he drafted last year.
52:40Right. And they're like, well, you have three quarterbacks.
52:43You can't start them all. Like, like, why don't you give me a discount on a guy?
52:48Like, it's like, it's like people feel the same way with BTJ.
52:52Like the Jaguars are just going to trade, you know, and make a strength like weaker because, because they don't necessarily need him.
52:59So to speak, like real football understands that BTJ opens up the offense, right?
53:03He opens it up downfield. He opens things up underneath because he's such a threat.
53:08And when you look at Parker Washington, the truth is he is what makes the Jaguars offense better, Matt.
53:14I mean, when I, you know, I wrote about it a week ago and with Parker Washington on the field, the total
53:20EPA, the offense is plus 077 per play. Now on pass plays, their EPA on pass plays is almost three times higher
53:27when Parker Washington's on the field than when he wasn't last year.
53:31Right. So it was very clear and obvious that Washington became a guy that is a focal point of the offense.
53:37They like him. And the truth is BTJ has issues going over the middle.
53:42Parker Washington didn't have those issues in college. That was actually one of the things that they talked about as a strength
53:49for him is he had that fearless ability to go over the middle.
53:53When we talk about projecting the offense though, Matt, like I have Parker Washington.
53:57They're going to be a nightmare to, to match up with, for defenses.
54:01Oh, a hundred percent. And that's why, that's why Trevor Lawrence, like, like I said, if you don't want to take a
54:08risk on picking the wrong wide receiver, that's fine.
54:11At least get a piece of the offense, Matt, you talked about it, right?
54:15You want pieces of top offenses, right? I don't think this is top five.
54:19I think it has potential to be top five this year.
54:23If you told me at the end of the year, Hey Matt, Hey, or Hey Pete, Hey, uh, Jaguars wound up being
54:30a top five offense in points and scoring this year.
54:33I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, would you be shocked if somebody told you that at the end of the season?
54:39I mean, where, where, where in the rankings of NFL offenses did the San Francisco 49ers land with Jerry Rice as their
54:46wide receiver one with, with, with, where, where was, where was Joe Montana and Steve Young ranked?
54:51And Trevor Lawrence isn't even those guys. Trevor, I don't think Trevor Lawrence is that good.
54:56I don't think it matters anymore. It doesn't matter.
54:59Nothing doesn't matter. You think Jared Goff's that good?
55:02No. Jared Goff's the right guy in the right place at the right time.
55:06And that's, that's now Trevor Lawrence. The thing is what kills me is that Trevor Lawrence is going to be in the MVP to conversation in, in October.
55:15And it's in, he has not had the bust season that reveals him as not the reason like Jared Goff, no matter
55:22how good Jared Goff is, he's not going to win MVP because what happened in Los Angeles and they punted him out of there.
55:29Okay. So, and now it's all about, Hey, he's on an up-tempo offense.
55:33He's got these great weapons. And Shamir Gibbs, I mean, it's, it's cartoonish.
55:37So even his wide receiver three is like Isaac Tesla, who's going to have, it's like a 25 yards per reception.
55:44It's going to be crazy. And so I, it's, it's, it's a bit of a bummer that a guy that it's going
55:50to be a situation based production predominantly is going to be launched in the MVP conversation.
55:55Cause he was the one-on-one and he was the Clemson golden boy.
55:59And now he's finally realizing his potential and they're going to talk all about the coaching.
56:04Oh, get ready for whoever the Jacksonville offensive coordinator is, is going to be the first one to be, to be signed
56:11away, to be a head coach somewhere else. That's going to happen.
56:15So we're going to have coach of the year, uh, offensive coordinator, getting a job somewhere else, a big head coaching job somewhere else.
56:22And Trevor Lawrence in the MVP conversation. And it's really going to come down to that foursome, including strange, right?
56:28So BTJ, Parker, Washington, Jacoby Myers, Brenton strange, they're going to get them over the line.
56:33And all those guys are values. None of them are getting drafted high.
56:37And so this is when, this is going to be a top offense that, that you can get multiple guys and, you
56:44know, strange and Parker Washington, how I love getting strange.
56:47Strange and Parker Washington. I can't, I can't tell you how much I love seeing a strange and Parker Washington on every team.
56:54And I'll be like, because Parker Washington is a guy who can start with confidence.
56:59And so is Brenton strange. Yeah. Strange. Strange. I have him at like 87 targets this year.
57:04I don't know where, where you guys, where, where we have them on player profiler, but, um, he has that upside, right?
57:11I mean, and he's a guy that can block.
57:14So that's the benefit that he has too. He can block and they just brought in more tight ends.
57:20So that also kind of frees him up to be able to be the guy that goes out for passes while the
57:27other guy stays in, if they do move to heavier sets.
57:30And one note before he moved to strange, I also do want to say to last note on Parker Washington, people seem
57:37to be concerned if they do move to heavier tight end sets, that Washington won't be out there nearly as much.
57:43But the truth is Parker Washington actually played outside more last year than he did in the slot.
57:49He was actually 55.52% of his alignment was actually outside.
57:52So he actually played more outside than he did inside.
57:55So the narrative of being concerned that he will get pulled off the field because of the heavier tight end sets is
58:02kind of bogus in my opinion as well. He is a throwback Z receiver.
58:06Do you know who else was one of the great throwback Z receivers of all time?
58:11Maybe the best Z receiver of all time? Jerry Rice.
58:14I should have just said Jerry Rice. I was thinking some really old player.
58:19For some reason, like my mind went like 70s, 80s.
58:22And I just said, just tell me. I love it.
58:25I just had these moments, man. I had these moments of clarity.
58:29And I was like, I can't, I can't take it anymore with this Parker Washington.
58:33Like, I just can't. I was like, what I got.
58:36And then I was like, Jerry Rice. Travis Hunter fans are in truth is are in shambles with this Hunter.
58:43I know people are just people. I mean, I have, I have Hunter projected for 58 targets.
58:48I think that's pretty fair for a guy that I think is going to be on the field for maybe 55, 60% of the snaps on offense.
58:56Maybe. And that feels like it could be generous, right?
58:59If they need him, like if, if, if there's an injury, I hope, I hope it doesn't happen.
59:05But if Brian Thomas is hurt, they'll agree that they don't need him.
59:09Otherwise they don't need him. They don't need him.
59:12And he, it makes no sense for that. It just doesn't make logical sense for them to play Travis Hunter at wide receiver.
59:19And it's crazy. So, but just, just we've covered two items in our show sheet.
59:24I didn't even have them in the show sheet.
59:26I just want to apologize to Pete in advance.
59:29None of this was even prepared. Like we didn't, none of this.
59:33So I, there's a, there's a bunch more to talk about and, uh, we're going to, we will, we will get, we'll get into it after this.
59:41You know, I get asked is AI ruining fantasy sports.
59:44And the answer is absolutely not. We've had consensus rankings available for a long time, but people subscribe to the player rankings
59:51at playerprofiler.com for super flex, tight end premium, best ball, even like offensive line rankings.
59:56Of course, your rookie rankings, your dynasty rankings, those are all available in the ranking service for playerprofiler.com password protected.
60:02So the bots can't get to it and you can maintain your edge and use code podfather for $5 off.
60:08Woo. It's a good deal. Jameer Gibbs. I want to talk about him.
60:12No one ever talks about him because it's like, oh yeah.
60:16Gibbs and Bichon. Okay. Moving on. Well, we just did it.
60:19Actually. We were, I just, I'm guilty. Like I want to talk about Puka.
60:23Oh, Gibbs, Bichon, Bichon, Gibbs, Puka, right? But this Jameer Gibbs, man, 30 points per game.
60:28What's stopping him? What's going to stop him? How could you stop?
60:32They, just like we talked about target math, imagine the highest efficiency running back now remove all touch competition and put them on the top offense.
60:40Yeah. Gibbs is tough. You know, we, we talked a little.
60:44He's tough. No, no. He's tough to get to 30.
60:47He's tough to get to 30. 30 points is kind of crazy.
60:50I mean, it is crazy, but it's doable. Hey, if Parker Washington's Jerry Rice, I was looking at it.
60:56Marshall Falk did it in, uh, in 2000. Priest Holmes did it in 2002 and Marshall Falk also did it again in
61:032001 on a points per game basis. LT actually had 30.07, about 481 PPR points.
61:08And that was it. Christian McCaffrey, 29.45. Just that was now that McCaffrey did it.
61:12Just say McCaffrey did. Okay. He did. He did close enough.
61:16Close. I mean, close enough. Come on. Close enough.
61:19Close enough. So that, that's why I actually, I know it's like, oh, that's, you know, it's so close.
61:24We're talking like one versus another, uh, you know, this is, uh, you know, we're splitting hairs.
61:30We're splitting hairs. I don't think we're splitting hairs, right?
61:33We're splitting hairs. The, if you just want to go on like default projections, then it is certainly possible that Bijan, you
61:40know, from a floor standpoint would be a better play.
61:43Bijan is more durable, right? He could, he's much bigger and can withstand a heavy workload, uh, from just looking at injury risk.
61:50Sure. Okay. So if you want max, if you want to flee to maximum safety, okay, cool.
61:55You can do that. But Bijan, his ceiling, his absolute ceiling, if everything goes right and it's not going to go right,
62:02it's really not going to go right because he has two left-hand quarterbacks.
62:06Ooh, Atlanta, uh, 25 fantasy points a game. There's an additional five fantasy points per game out there that Jameer Gibbs is an opportunity to capture.
62:14And for that reason, I think he is easily, that's why you can't just like download.
62:19If you downloaded our rankings and sorted by default projections, then you would never draft Ricky Pearsall, right?
62:25You would never, because he's the fourth option you would, you would take Bijan over Jameer Gibbs just based on default projections.
62:31And it's like, well, no, okay. That's one. But what, what about there's a reason why they go?
62:37Hey, cause I get this question, right? Cause so many people subscribe to our rankings are like, why do you have Gibbs ahead of Bijan?
62:45But the projection is like, listen, the, the range of outcomes for a guy on the lions is very different from a guy on the Falcons.
62:53And I'm not sorry. Honestly, I love that point too.
62:56Um, when you just talk about the range of outcomes, it's, it's, it's not baked in.
63:01Right. I mean, if there was like a nice little notepad next to the number of rankings and the number for the
63:08rankings, and you could just see, Hey, like caveat, Hey, like range of outcomes.
63:12Maybe that needs to be something that gets added more on projections where it's like, Hey, like this is the ceiling that we think.
63:20Right. And we put like that next to like the points per game projection.
63:24Right. But like, I'm with you, right? I actually, I have Jameer Gibbs projected for 23.4 fantasy points per game, 23.4.
63:30And it sounds crazy. And like, but it's really not right.
63:34I mean, when you look here at all. Yeah.
63:37I mean, when you, when you look at it, Pacheco is not nearly as good as David Montgomery.
63:42I mean, genuinely speaking, I liked Isaiah Pacheco at one point in time, but at his prime and where David Montgomery was
63:49at those first few years in Detroit, like Pacheco couldn't hold his jockstrap in my opinion.
63:54I mean, did Montgomery way better football player than Pacheco and Pacheco can't stay on the field either.
64:00So yeah, I mean, and this offense too, even if there's more mouths to feed in this offense, it's an offense that
64:06has Dan Campbell there where like, they don't care about running up a score.
64:11There's nothing to feed. There's Amon Ra and everything else is fungible.
64:14Jamison Williams is a hundred target player. No, I don't even think he's a hundred target player.
64:20I have JMO at like nine. He's like right there at 95.
64:23Laporte is going to be the number two, number two target.
64:27Wait, did you just do this to me? Did you just say, let me just rewind.
64:32We got to rewind the tape. Okay. I want to rewind the tape.
64:36Okay. This, this was, this, this is, I've never seen, I've never actually experienced this in my life.
64:41I said a hundred and you were adamant. You were adamant.
64:45You said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
64:49I have been 95. You know, you know what was coming out of me?
64:53I think, I think part of what was coming out of me is that a lot of people are high on JMO this year and I'm not.
65:02So that, I think that, that inner, that inner, you know, bias came out of me where it just kind of, kind
65:08of just jumped out at me real quick. You were very defensive about it.
65:13We're, we're in agreement. We're in agreement. We're talking about a tight end with back issues.
65:18We're talking about a hundred target field stretcher and Isaac Tesla beyond Amon Ra.
65:22That's it. Oh, I'm sorry. The seven targets, the Pacheco's whatever.
65:25You think that you think Tesla, what do you think his ceiling is for targets this year?
65:31When we say ceiling for targets, this is when everyone's healthy and he just outperforms because his ceiling for targets in the
65:38event of a, of a Jamison Williams suspension or injury is, is probably a hundred.
65:42But outside of that, we're talking 50. Yeah. I have my 45.
65:46So that feels right. Oh, so we're way off.
65:49Same thing. Same thing. Same thing. But I probably actually haven't projected more than you do now that I'm, I mean, I
65:56want to get, I want to get Tesla more targets, but I just, we all do.
66:01We all do. We all, we all want, we, we all, we all want more from Tesla.
66:06We, we, everyone wants more from Tesla. It's just, it's, you know, two guys that I want more from this year, but it's hard to squeeze it out.
66:14Flournoy and Tesla. Yeah. But they're in the right places.
66:18They're in the right places. They're on the right teams to make it happen.
66:22Absolutely. So, all right. So that we're, we're, we're in agreement.
66:25There is yet more upside with, I think this is one of those things where this will start to be more of
66:32a conversation point as we get into the summer and, and it sinks in what this guy can do.
66:38Another guy that, that I think we're more bullish on than consensus.
66:42I really want to get your, your take on this because I got them again in the, in the latest startup and
66:49cause typically it's a great thing, right? Cause I always hear you even said it.
66:53Too many miles to feed. People usually love it.
66:56He's the only guy. He's all they have. They're going to feed him.
67:00They're going to, they're going to run him till the wheels fall off.
67:04And then there's, there's D-Von H where no one can figure out who the hell is going to get any targets there at all.
67:12I keep hearing Greg Dulcich is, is really the, the de facto number one receiver in Miami, which given Greg Dulcich's resume is hilarious.
67:19And I know Malik Willis is going to run the ball.
67:22Yes, he will. Sure. Sure. He's going to run the ball, but this is going to be the D-Von H and show.
67:29And I've, I've just been shocked how far he slips in all formats.
67:33Yeah. A-chain. I, I have a chain. Here's what I would say about a chain.
67:38I would rather take a chain at cost over a guy like Ashton Jen, like a million times out of a million times.
67:45Right. I mean, you talk about two guys that are going to be in really bad offenses, I think.
67:51And Jen D has, I appreciate you saying this.
67:54I appreciate you saying this by the way. So I just want everyone to know this show.
67:59We're focusing on the positive. We're focusing on the positive in this show.
68:03There are certainly other shows that will happen at some point this year, very soon, where we talk about players.
68:09We're fading into oblivion. And in terms of ADP arbitrage, that's a great point that Jenty goes a number of picks ahead.
68:16And last time I checked, Jenty's offense, no good either.
68:19Jenty has Brock Bowers to compete with for targets.
68:22I find it bizarre. I mean, is this, is this like, are we worried about Jalen Wright touches crowding out?
68:28I don't understand. I just, I don't, it makes no sense.
68:32HN has, is a proven performer. Jenty is still a projection based on draft capital.
68:36And he has a great profile. And I like him.
68:39I just can't draft him. There are plenty of players.
68:42I like, I just, I can't draft him there.
68:45What? It's crazy. Jenty. Yeah. Jenty. I, so I did the, I did the numbers and I was, I was taking a
68:52look before the show just to, just to get an understanding of Jenty, right?
68:5614.4 points per game last year. I have him projected for 16, right?
69:0016. I haven't projected, but the problem is when we talk about range of outcomes and we talked about Detroit, what are their range of outcomes?
69:08The range of outcomes for Jenty is 12 points per game.
69:12Like, I think that's very possible for Jenty. And I did the math, right?
69:16Since 1999 to 2025 running backs that had six touchdowns and 60 receptions on the season, 80% of the time finished as a top five running back.
69:25Okay. I have Jenty projected for six touchdowns and I have him projected for 60 plus receptions.
69:30You know what the difference between Jenty and those guys that did hit the 80%, none of them were on a bottom five offense.
69:37I went through all of the names, not a single guy that was top five that had those metrics was in a bottom five offense.
69:45They were all in good offense. So I just, I just can't get there for Jenty because I look at other players
69:52that go around him and it's like, I'd rather have Chase Brown over Jenty.
69:56I know it sounds crazy, but I'd rather have Chase.
69:59You'd rather have Chase Brown. You'd rather have Devon Echan.
70:02You'd rather have James Cook. Yep. And James Cook.
70:05A hundred percent. Of course. I'd rather have a Marion Hampton.
70:09Hampton. I'm still working through, but I think I'm kind of working through Hampton.
70:13Hampton's in a great offense. Hampton's also a first round pick.
70:16There was an argument. It's a whole debate. Just a little over a year ago.
70:21Oh, well, how close are Hampton and Jenty going to get drafted?
70:25Yes. Jenty. But Hampton arguments for Hampton, right? Hampton's a much better play.
70:29Much better off waiting and going with a guy like Hampton later in the first round.
70:34Much better value on Hampton than on Jenty. These guys are very similar.
70:38One guy actually is Hampton's bigger with similar skill sets.
70:41So much, so many, such a dichotomy and comparisons, a like for like comparison between Jenty and Hampton.
70:46I, we went through months of this. And now one's on the Chargers with a great offensive line.
70:52We talk about the reverse of what's happening. If there was an opposite world, if there was a Carolina Panthers opposite world,
70:59it would be the Los Angeles Chargers. Where everything that's going wrong for the Panthers is going right for the Chargers.
71:05The opposite of Bryce Young is Justin Herbert. The opposite of the Carolina offensive line, at least health situation, is what's happening in Los Angeles.
71:13Where stud tackles are getting healthy. And I haven't, I mean, hope nothing happens, but so far this is as healthy as
71:20the Chargers have been in an off season. In my memory, the only one that's hurt is Lad McConkie.
71:26Yet another guy. See, Lad McConkie, the timing was bad on McConkie.
71:30He got steamed up in June. You don't want to get steamed up in June because it's, it, it, he can't, it was unsustainable.
71:37Where he got steamed up to, everyone came to Jesus on this Chargers offense and they, they, they circled around Lad McConkie.
71:44Didn't really push Hampton up as much as I thought it would, but it steamed up McConkie and it did push up Quinton Johnston.
71:51Didn't much matter for Trey Harris. So I'll take more Trey Harris.
71:55And if anything, Gadsden's ADP fell because of the presence of Njoku, the signing of Njoku.
72:00So I'm like, okay, I'm just gonna, the ADPs that didn't move, that didn't get steamed up after the big Chargers come to Jesus.
72:07The, the, the Hamptons, the Trey Harris's, the Aranda Gadsden's, that's where I'm going with this offense.
72:13Yeah, I'm, I'm good with that too. With Hampton, it's the only, the only concern I have about the offense is just
72:19the pace of play a little bit. Um, it's been talked about a lot and, and I do worry just a little
72:26bit with how Mike McDaniels has kind of the last few years has really played at a slow pace.
72:32And can you not do this with this? Can you not?
72:36I will know. I will forgive you with the coach specific analysis.
72:39It's important sometimes, Matt, but when you are leveraging the most extreme apples to oranges situation where a guy is going from.
72:46Who? Tua Tungaveloa was the best he had. Who, who else, who else started games in Miami last year?
72:52Do you remember? Ooh, uh, Quinn Ewers. Okay. So let's just, let's just take Quinn Ewers.
72:57I think he started multiple games. I think he did.
73:00Yeah. Browns was a brutal one. Yeah, no. He had one decent.
73:04I think he played, had played decent against the Saints.
73:07Fair play. Fair play. Quinn Ewers. So we're going from the Quinn Ewers offense and offensive line and receivers, Malik Washington.
73:13The Quinn Ewers, Malik Washington. Who was their tight end last year?
73:17Dadson. Oh, I'm sorry. Uh, Greg Dulcich and Darren Waller.
73:20Dulcich was on the Dolphins last year? Yeah. Yeah.
73:23Okay. Barely remember him on the Dolphins. I remember him on the Broncos.
73:27Not exciting. It wasn't a, Dolphins weren't a team that was excited to watch.
73:31So. Okay. Anyway, let's just, you know what? Let's just stick to you.
73:35So he was, he had the Ewers. Waddle was there.
73:39So let's just focus on the Ewers. We're going from the Quinn Ewers offense.
73:43If you are Mike McDi- What are you going to do?
73:46You're going to turn up the tempo with Quinn Ewers under center.
73:50What are you going to do? So you're going to, you're going to go ahead and superimpose the pace of play onto
73:57the offensive coordinator when he's got Quinn Ewers to work with.
74:00At some point, you don't got, you don't get the horses.
74:04So if you want to do a like for like, and a guy's coming from Cincinnati and he's going to Los Angeles or he's going from Dallas.
74:12Okay. Then that's, that's a conversation. But you can't do, you can't give me, he's going to play slow because, because he,
74:19he wasn't, he wasn't rat-a-tat-tat with Quinn Ewers. Yeah, I get it.
74:23I get it. Come on, dude. That's, and think about the downstream effects.
74:27Think about the downstream effects. Yeah. Because of that, because of Quinn Ewers, because think about this, this is how absurd coach centric analysis.
74:34This is the, this is the, this is the, the circle that you can, that you can spin yourself into.
74:40It's dizzying. You're not, it's, there's a potential that you do not draft a Marion Hampton.
74:45And if you actually follow the path all the way back to the source, the reason is Quinn Ewers.
74:51It's probably more two than it is yours, but yes.
74:54It's probably two more than it is yours, but yeah.
74:57Yeah. Listen, he's got cool sunglasses. He kind of has a hip way about him.
75:02He's young. Don't these guys play fast? He's got a, isn't he a fast information processor?
75:07Isn't he a genius? Wonderkind. That's about, I mean, that's the other guy, by the way.
75:12It's a race. It's a race. Who's the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville?
75:16Udinski. Udinski. Udinski. Who actually did get interviewed for head coaching jobs this cycle.
75:20He's definitely gone after the future. Right. You need to, by the way, so Pete, to help you with your coach analysis,
75:27I need you to be quicker on that one.
75:30Okay. You need to know Udinski. Jacksonville offensive coordinator.
75:32Udinski. Jacksonville's offensive coordinator. Udinski. Udinski. Okay. So it's going to be McDaniel and Udinski collision course.
75:38And Davis Webb. And probably Davis Webb. I'm sorry.
75:40I'm just giving you another one. What team does he, what team is he?
75:45He's Denver's OC. He's going to be calling plays for Peyton this year.
75:49And they, and they added Waddle, but no, see, they're going to give, they're going to, they're going to arbitrarily give credit to Peyton for that.
75:57See, I contend, I contend it's not going to be him because I can already say I've, unfortunately I've just seen too
76:04much football and I've heard too many takes and I've read too many articles about these things.
76:09So I know how this is going to play out.
76:12I'm telling you, it's not going to be, it's going to be a Dinsky McDaniel collision course.
76:17I just got to say this. I know. Yeah.
76:20I know we're focused on like JP in the chat is extremely upset with you for your gente take.
76:26Whoa, I see this guy, JP galaxy brain galaxy brain to take the guy.
76:30That's the proven performer stud running back who has the offense to himself over the guy who's also in, in a, you
76:37know, bottom 10 offense that has not yet been proven to be a top 10 running back in the league and has more target competition.
76:45That's gallant. I think it's the opposite. I contend that drafting gente over Saquon Barkley is the depth is the over.
76:51I've even seen some people probably in this audience have drafted gente over Jonathan Taylor, Jonathan also another player is going to have the offense largely to himself.
77:00It is going to be a Jonathan Taylor centric offense with Quentin Nelson and, and, and a quality run blocking offensive line, but nevermind all that.
77:08So that is the galaxy brain. If you're, if you're going to say, well, you know what?
77:14I see Barkley there and I see Jonathan Taylor there and I see H in there, but you know, I'm going to
77:20go genti because I think that, you know, world where this happens and this happens and he was a top 10 pick in the draft.
77:28And that's the definition of galaxy brain, JP galaxy brain.
77:31That's the first thing I thought when I keep seeing genti flying off the board in these drafts.
77:37And I'm like, that was galaxy brain. That's, I mean, you are known to be a galaxy brainer.
77:42Me? I'm a simpleton. I look at very simple things.
77:45I have a stack of napkins. I'm just writing stuff down on napkins.
77:49Those are 32 plus 10. That's galaxy brain. Is it money ball or is it a draft day where they, they write it down on the napkin?
77:58I said, well, I think it was, it might've been drafted.
78:01I can't remember. I don't know. I have player profilers, so I don't need anything but napkins.
78:07That's fair. That's fair. How about that? How about that folks?
78:10How about that? Let me, let me ask you one more thing.
78:14We're talking, we're talking through some of these guys, right?
78:17And I do want to talk, I do want to talk about Chase Brown, but I don't know if you're ready to
78:24get there yet, but we're talking about a cluster of players.
78:27And Chase Brown is, is a smash just based on the touch math and the offense.
78:32This guy's checking all the boxes is in a super prime.
78:35This is the year we're going to look back.
78:38And this was the year everyone wanted to have Chase Brown on their team.
78:43Yeah. I have, I have Brown ahead of cook.
78:45And I have Brown. Sure. Why not? That's very close to me.
78:49What's the difference? I do have him ahead of Hampton too, though.
78:53Why is that? No, that's not hot at all.
78:56Okay. All right. I'm just saying, because when you get to the math, you're saying.
79:00Chase Brown is ahead of Hampton on player profile.
79:03Okay. Because, because for me, I'm like, I'm comfortable taking him right at the, the, the one, two turn.
79:09And the beautiful thing about Chase Brown is I don't think he's going, you're going to have to take him that high.
79:16You're going to be able to, you're going to be able to take him in a second round.
79:21That's the thing. Like, yeah, we're, I'm not saying how, if you think that there's a possibility that you could somehow get a channel later than do that.
79:30Like I got him in the third round of a dynasty startup, the mid third round.
79:35I had no plans. Like, I don't go into a startup going, got to get me some D-bone H and that's not,
79:42no, that's not what, but I'm like, but this way I'm like, I'm surrounded by galaxy brains.
79:47And I just, I'm forced to do this. You guys are forcing me to do this.
79:52I don't love taking players on bad teams, but there is a case to be made, right?
79:57There was a time when the Danian Tomlinson was all the chargers had and the whole offense ran through him and he
80:04was amazing and they weren't that great. And we've seen this time and time again, that even happened on the jets.
80:11That was his whole career. It's Lydia and Tomlinson's career.
80:14So what about Brees Hall? Because we're, we're, we're behind consensus on Brees Hall.
80:18And we just got news. Just drop player profile.com slash news.
80:21Isaiah Davis, the likely RB two. And I talked about this with Cody.
80:25I confronted Cody about this on the Sonic truth show.
80:29And so I felt, I knew that was going to happen.
80:32I was like, listen, you can't watch Isaiah Davis and not see a running back that coaches will fall in love with.
80:39And now we're seeing that. And so for the jets are certainly not an offense where I want everybody.
80:45They're not a top 10 offense. So therefore probably going to have to pick one or the other.
80:50And I'm all in on that jets passing game.
80:53And that pretty much means I'm out on Brees Hall.
80:56It was to the point where I made a bad trade in dynasty because of it.
81:01Sometimes seasonal rankings can scramble your dynasty brain. And that absolutely happened to me where I gave up too much to get Joe Burrow.
81:09So I wanted Burrow in super flex. And I, you know, I, I included Brees Hall with Purdy to get Burrow.
81:15And coach was like, you overpaid. You shouldn't have given up Brees Hall there.
81:19And I'm like, I know I just, it's not every day that in super flex, someone's offering you Joe Burrow.
81:26That's not, you don't wake up in the morning with Joe Burrow offers typically in super flex, number one.
81:32And then they also wanted Brees Hall. And I was like, I'm kind of scared.
81:36So I, I did, I am a little bit worried that we have three quality running backs there in New York.
81:43And this isn't even a team that's going to be a quality running team.
81:47And then they're not going to be in a position to run.
81:51What are they going to do? They're playing the Patriots.
81:54They're playing the bills. They're going to be running the ball.
81:57What are we talking about? You know, I'm all in on Adni Mitchell.
82:01I'm all in on, on even Garrett Wilson. We're ahead of consensus.
82:05I can't believe this with Garrett Wilson, like five, we will.
82:08I'll take Garrett Wilson. I couldn't believe where his ADP was in best ball.
82:13And that's, and I was told that I understand this.
82:16This isn't something I mean, it wasn't told yesterday.
82:19It's something I know, but I was reminded of this on dynasty Reddit because Andrew Cooper posted this.
82:24And I was like, Hey, there are some players that their best ball ADPs are just incongruent with dynasty.
82:30And there's an opportunity there. And one of them was, was Garrett Wilson.
82:34He's like, yeah, but that's because of Gino Smith.
82:37Like no one wants to draft Gino Smith. So people are putting off drafting Garrett Wilson in best ball because they don't want his stacking companion.
82:45And that makes perfect sense to me. Right. I mean, I was like, I, it was a great reminder of that from coop.
82:52So that's one of those things where all arbitrages are not the same.
82:56Some of these arbitrage plays that we're, we're laying out like Coker, it's consistent across all formats.
83:01You just, you want them. Okay. Over some of these other guys that just don't have the floor or the ceiling that
83:08Coker brings to the table with Garrett Wilson. I understand it.
83:12I'm not saying go out and draft him in best ball ahead of all these guys until you have enough Gino Smith, right?
83:19It could be that people have maxed out their Gino Smith.
83:22I really liked Gino Smith in best ball. To me, I'm comfortable drafting him.
83:27Cade club, Nick. Really? Like I'm much more concerned.
83:29I'm more concerned about Jacoby Brissett, even Aaron Rogers, like other quarterbacks that I could see not playing out the whole year for whatever reason.
83:37I, I see no reason. I can't imagine them pivoting off of Gino Smith because I think I know the passing game
83:44is going to start the year hot, exceeding expectation.
83:47That is going to happen. This team overall isn't even that bad.
83:50Their defense is better than advertised. We talked about their running game.
83:54Isn't you certainly as assets people want in fantasy football, they made a bunch of investments on the offensive line, particularly the interior offensive line.
84:02So I don't see anything that would prove I'm very comfortable with Gino Smith.
84:06He was on the waiver wire in a super flex league.
84:10I saw in dynasty. What are I was like, I added him immediately.
84:14It's like, what is happening right now? You hate Gino Smith.
84:17I don't hate Gino Smith. When you look back, I mean, just, we are not far removed from Gino supporting a hundred
84:24plus targets for JSN and DK Metcalf. DK was just like a few yards shy of, you know, a thousand yards.
84:31JSN in 2024, right? 14.9 points per game with Gino.
84:34He only scored six touchdowns, but I mean, he had 1,130 receiving yards.
84:38This is actually like one of the craziest stats I feel like I've ever seen, by the way.
84:43So I just have to say it. JSN had 1,186 air yards on 1,130 receiving yards.
84:48Isn't that really weird? Like, I don't think I've ever seen it that close for a guy that had a thousand yards.
84:55He had 1,130 receiving yards and he only had 1,186 air yards.
84:59He only had 50 more air yards than he had receiving yards that year with Gino in 2024.
85:04Are you familiar with a wide receiver named Debo Samuel?
85:07Yeah. Yes. I understand what you're going to tell me.
85:11I get it. I just, Shane Waldron really, really must've been just that bad, man.
85:15He must've been just really that bad. Yeah. Okay.
85:18So can I, can I show you the craziest example of this?
85:22Do you, have you ever, do you know the craziest example?
85:25Are you going to tell me like Debo had like five yards and that's it?
85:30Like over there? No. What you're going to see, what I'm about to show on the screen is going to blow your mind.
85:37Is it going to be inverse? It is going to blow your mind.
85:41There's a few stats in that I've seen in the, in the history.
85:45There was a season. It was, there's the opposite example.
85:48Do you know who the opposite of Debo Samuel is in the NFL?
85:52Mike Pierce. Mike Evans. There was a year where Mike Evans had an impossibly low number of yards after the catch.
85:59Like where it was crazy. It was insane. It was all area.
86:02It was the, it was, so there's a lot of different things.
86:06There was also a year where Jalen Waddell had a Debo Samuel type year.
86:10And then the very next year he had a Mike Evans type year.
86:14And that actually made me respect Jalen Waddell a lot more from just based on versatility.
86:19I was like, if he's capable of that, then he's a hell of an athlete.
86:24I mean, so he has, he has some, he has some of Debo and some of Mike Evans.
86:30I really liked Jalen Waddell. That's why I'm bullish on Jalen Waddell this year, but look, look at this.
86:35Look at 2021 for Debo Samuel. Check that out.
86:381,405 receiving yards, 971 air yards. That's a thing that happened in 2021.
86:4221.2 points per game. Insane dude. That the Debo, if we, we should have, and I should put this on, I'm going to, I got to do this.
86:51I got to remember to do this. It's getting late and I'm going to forget, but I got to remember to put this on Twitter.
86:59I'm going to write this down. Wish I had like a secretary.
87:02Write this down. Debo said, I'm going to put just the top three.
87:07Cause I don't want to have to do too much research.
87:10Cartoonish wide receiver seasons. And this is on there.
87:13There's, there's certainly got to be a couple more.
87:15I think the Mike Evans, there's a Mike Evans yards after the catch season, which was crazy.
87:21Like he had, but I don't know what it was.
87:24Something, some impossible low yards after the catch number given his, his total yards.
87:28So it's basically the, the, the equivalent of this, but for yards after the catch.
87:33Uh, and I'm sure there's another fun cartoonish, uh, stat.
87:36It actually, you know what? That's actually a really good thing that AI can do now is that you could put stuff
87:43that, that, that, that only like a giant supercomputer could ever put together.
87:47Um, well, by the way, this, this past year, Mike Evans had 37 yards after catch.
87:52What year? The past year? This past season, 37 yards.
87:55Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He it's he, that's not his thing.
87:58Let's be honest. And I don't care. I don't care with Debo.
88:02I mean, that that's, I don't think I don't, it's going to be hard to find like more cartoonish.
88:08I mean, we're not talking about a thousand yards, Pete.
88:11We're talking about 1400 yards. This is why people love him.
88:14Yeah. People think that he's a sleeper right now.
88:17People think right now you should be going out and stashing Debo because he's going to sign somewhere.
88:22Should go to Miami. Could go to Miami. Could go to Miami.
88:26I mean, think about how much I like Mike Evans because just I, because I very much appreciate air yards and how it predicts future performance.
88:34But I also understand that if you had Debo on your fantasy team that year, that forever he can do no wrong.
88:41And I totally understand that. Yeah. Well, let's, let's reel it back into the jets.
88:46Cause you asked me a question. We're talking Garrett Wilson.
88:49So we've, we've, we've done the Trump weave where he just kind of weaves in and out of the topic.
88:55And you're kind of like, where are we going?
88:58Let's get back to the Trump. You know, they always say that Trump does the weave, I guess is like when he
89:05talks, he just kind of weaves in and out of the topic.
89:08Trump, like a Trump card, liking playing cards. No, I'm talking about the president, Donald Trump.
89:13He weaves. They say that he, he does the weave is what they call it, where it's like when someone weaves in
89:20and out of a topic, they weave into a topic.
89:23They weave out of a topic. I don't know who the president is.
89:27Sorry. That's fair. All right. Well, let's get back to G.
89:31Well, let's get back to G. Well, uh, so in terms of, in terms of Garrett Wilson, it's going off the board at 37, right?
89:38I like Garrett Wilson, but I'd rather have Jalen Waddell, uh, who goes two spots behind him.
89:44I have Jalen Waddell projected higher on a points per game basis.
89:47You asked me about Bruce Hall. God damn it, JP.
89:51He writes, how can you not hate Geno Smith?
89:53I don't hate players. I hate ADPs. This is a famous podfatherism that Matthew Berry quoted in his final love hate column.
90:00Everyone should know this. I love Geno Smith. If Geno Smith was being drafted ahead of Daniel Jones, I would hate him, but he's not.
90:08So I love him. It's that simple. This is fantasy football.
90:11This is not Jets fans. This is not a Jets profiler.
90:15Well, to be fair to Geno is probably going to hold the job down no matter what, because I don't really think,
90:22you know, the head coach over there is really looking to get a look at club Nick when he might be fired.
90:28If they don't win club Nick, there's people that are playing for their jobs in New York and coaches that are coaching for their jobs.
90:36This is the NFL man. They're not going to.
90:39And by the way, all the reports on Geno have been very positive.
90:43Now, I know there is one report about him at his home, which was very negative.
90:48Okay. And shameful. Oh, no, I thought they said that was, I thought they said it was, it wasn't.
90:54Oh, well, I was thinking about the, there was a cop thing.
90:58No, no, no, no, no. The case is no longer being pursued by police, but there is a shirtless video.
91:04Very shameful. Everything that I'm hearing about Geno Smith in a football context has been highly positive in New York.
91:10Yeah. Listen, if you like Garrett Wilson, you can make the case that Geno can support him.
91:15That's all I'm saying. When we talked about the JSN thing, we talked about DK Metcalf.
91:20That was just two years ago. Remind yourselves that the Raiders were such a train wreck.
91:25Chip Kelly was absolutely, I'm sorry. Not, well, not Chip Kelly.
91:29Well, it was Chip Kelly, but it was also Pete Carroll's son, who was the offensive line coach.
91:34And they were saying that Geno had to meet with the team and do extra meetings because, I mean, because there was
91:41so, such a disaster with Chip Kelly and the way the offensive line was being coached.
91:46And I know you hate coaching, but. No, no, no, no, no.
91:50I love Chip Kelly now. Do you know why?
91:52Why? He's the coach of the Northwestern Wildcats. Oh, gosh.
91:56Did you know that? I saw him do like a picture in like a, I think he had like a hard hat on or something.
92:03Yes. Did you see that for sure? Yes. It's a brand new stadium.
92:07I mean, back in my day, it was called Dyke Stadium.
92:11And then it became Ryan Field when I was there.
92:14I'm very old. I'm very, I told, I, I led the show.
92:18I mean, you are a boomer. Explaining to everybody just how crusty I am and what a boomer I am.
92:24I mean, I was doing robust RB before it was cool.
92:27Yeah. I mean, if you went robust RB last year, you were pretty happy.
92:32We talked about it with that. You remember me and you had a conversation about the fast draft and I finished in
92:38the flex for, I think third last year. And I drafted five running backs, almost like all of my drafts were just
92:45every, every pick was a running back and it worked out.
92:49So you're just ahead of the curve. This year, if you want to draft, I don't know, Jonathan Taylor, you want to
92:55draft guys like, oh, I don't know, Jameer Gibbs.
92:58You want to draft guys like, oh, I don't know, Devon Achan.
93:02You're going to be in great shape. You're going to be in great shape.
93:06Brace Hall? We'll see. We'll see. We'll see. Listen, man, I got to get you out of here.
93:12We went way over on time. Appreciate you coming in for a late show.
93:16It's been great. You're, you're one, one of the best analysts in, in, in the entire player profile or universe.
93:22So we got to, we got to do more of these shows.
93:26We're going to be doing some, some shows during the season.
93:30Uh, like maybe, uh, waiver wired, waiver wire. We'll see what happens.
93:33Uh, get us out of here. Give us, give us something bold.
93:37Give us a guy you love. Give, give us, give us a, give us a hot take that we can, we can
93:44clip and we can, we can post for everyone to see.
93:47And, and, and that might, that might shock people.
93:50Yeah. I think, I think Sam Laporta is going to finish as a top five tight end.
93:55I think he has top three upside. Um, I think there's a world where you can even argue that he should go over Colson Loveland.
94:03Um, this is a, an offense. So let me just, okay.
94:06Before we, before you do waiver wired, I just want to make sure that I coach you up on the hot takes.
94:13Okay. Okay. You could just lead with that. Okay.
94:16So I, just so you know, I ha I think Tyler Warren's going to outscore Colson Loveland.
94:21Colson Loveland's a little, a little galaxy brain this year.
94:24Okay. But the way I, the way I would have done it and you could take or leave this is you could
94:31have just simply said, I love Sam Laporta this year.
94:34We don't know how much I love him. I think he's going to outscore Colson Loveland.
94:39And that's it. That's it. I don't want to left it at that.
94:43Um, I thought you were going to do like the nice little, just clip it done roll credit right there, but I
94:50was going to, but sometimes I don't, you never quite, I want to make sure.
94:55You never really know what's going to happen. Uh, but the other thing is, and you did the, you, the, the, you
95:02did the right thing in that instead of saying a guy is top five or top 10 or top three or whatever,
95:08I'll, because there's actually, there's a higher probability that any given player outscores just one other player.
95:14There's a much higher probability that happens than a player finishes in some aggregate ranking.
95:18So my favorite bold predictions and hot takes are always to compare one player to the next and say, uh, player X
95:25that everyone is, is, is sleeping on is going to outscore player.
95:29Why that all these people love for no reason.
95:32That is my favorite structure, sort of hot take structure that maximizes correctness, but also stimulates engagement because you get both sides of it.
95:39The people that love that player that you love, but also the people that love the player that you're saying is going to be outscored by the sleeper.
95:48So I just want to make the end of the show.
95:51I thought it would be very fun to kind of take people into the mechanics of a hot take.
95:57All right, here we are. Ready? Let's, let's, let's rewind it back.
96:01Want to try it again? Rewind it back. You probably, can I, can I do one?
96:06Can I do one as a practice? Yeah. Yeah.
96:09Go for it. I'll do one as a, I'll do one almost like a coach.
96:13Like I'll go up and I'll, I'll shoot a free throw so I can show you how to do it.
96:19You know what I mean? Yeah. Go for it.
96:22Can we do that? Yeah. Yeah. Go for it.
96:25Yeah. So, uh, so yeah, not all, I can't even tell you how far away I am from drafting Alec Pierce.
96:32He is completely toxic. Uh, he is, uh, he is the radioactive wide receiver and all of fantasy right now, but I
96:38don't really want to talk about Alec Pierce. I don't want to talk about Alec Pierce at all.
96:44Uh, because based on the target math that I'm looking at and based on, you know, player X player, why are these guys good at football?
96:52I think Josh Downs is going to outscore Luther burden this year.
96:56That's pretty good. So that I would do that.
96:59Okay. Okay. That would be one. That would be a thing, by the way.
97:03Uh, the nice thing about that take also is that Luther burden really hasn't fucking done anything yet.
97:08I, so it's not like I said, he's going to outscore Terry McLaurin or Mike Evans, something completely audacious.
97:14He's just going to outscore another guy that's scored about the same as he's scored it on a per season basis.
97:21In fact, all Josh Downs ever does is outscore Luther burden in fantasy points year in year out.
97:26So that's that, that was probably the, that was a, that was, that wasn't a free throw.
97:32That was a layup. I like, go ahead. I like that one.
97:35Go ahead. Go ahead. You know, I, I, I, I've been thinking about it on this show, Matthew.
97:41Okay. And I would probably say, if I'm sitting here looking at draft boards, Patrick Mahomes is going to finish outside of the top 12 this season.
97:49And on top of all of that, Baker Mayfield, healthy Baker Mayfield is going to score more points than Patrick Mahomes.
97:56And we'll finish ahead of him when the season is finished.
97:59And I said, Hey kids draft Zay flowers. One of these kids is going to get killed.
98:05Everyone is entitled to my opinion. Everyone knows that I turn up the obnoxiousness on the show, but man, am I a sweetheart in person?
98:12Oh man, that's the, that's the, that's the reputation.
98:15That's the rep of the pod father for sure.
98:18Sweetheart in person, sweetheart, absolute sweetheart. Is it Mumfield?
98:21And think about the downstream effects. You hate Gino Smith.
98:24No, I'm talking about the president, Donald Trump. He weaves.
98:27They say that he, he does the weave is what they call it, where it's like when someone weaves in and out
98:34of a topic, they weave into a topic, they weave out of a topic.
98:38I don't know who the president is. Sorry. I mean, you are a boomer.
98:42If you use like, uh, you know, uh, I'm trying to find this, uh, a little tongue twister here.
98:48Yeah. Yeah. Well, I don't know. I we're talking 50.
98:51Yeah. I had enough 45. So that feels right.
98:54Oh, so we're way off. Right. Cause I always hear you even said it too many miles to feed.
99:00I mean, you are a boomer.
