Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveRole0:09

Christian Watson, newly signed to a 4-year, $110 million deal, was drafted in round 7 as a stopgap receiver and key piece enabling the team-building strategy by allowing the drafter to go three quarterbacks early.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

PositiveValue0:08

Dak Prescott was drafted in round 6 at significant value, described as 'sick value' and worth more than a typical 6th-round pick, paying for itself in the draft strategy.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

PositiveProjection0:03

Deshaun Watson has the edge in the Cleveland QB competition with 'right of first refusal,' though he is described as 'a quarterback from 10 years ago' who locks onto single receivers and is not well-suited to modern NFL offenses.

Insight page

Fernando Mendoza

NegativeInjury0:08

Fernando Mendoza carries injury concern with worry about him playing more than 12 games this season, limiting his fantasy value despite being drafted in round 4.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

NegativeValue0:09

Isaiah Likely was drafted at pick 9.09, representing a reach that the drafter capitalized on by waiting and taking Devontae Adams at 9.10 instead.

Insight page

Jayden Higgins

NegativeValue0:09

Matthew Stafford was drafted in round 10 more than two rounds after Sam Darnold and Bryce Young, providing exceptional value as an NFL MVP-caliber quarterback at a discount.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveRole0:11

Parker Washington, about to get a deal with James Gladstone, was drafted in round 8 as a young receiver prospect with contract security coming.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

PositiveValue0:10

Sam Darnold was drafted earlier than Matthew Stafford, who went in round 10 more than two rounds later, indicating Stafford was undervalued relative to Darnold.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

PositiveValue0:08

Saquon Barkley (referred to as 'Shook') is described as 'one of the biggest risers this whole offseason' and was drafted in round 5, providing excellent value.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:17

Saquon Barkley (Shook) has a keep-trade-cut value of 99th overall but went considerably higher in two superflex startups at picks 71 and 69, indicating strong value at his actual draft position.

Insight page

Shedeur Sanders

NegativeProjection0:03

Shedeur Sanders appears to be losing the quarterback competition in Cleveland to Deshaun Watson, who has the 'right of first refusal' and is 'just a tick ahead' despite Sanders' potential advantages in processing speed and read progressions.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeValue0:09

Tony Pollard was drafted at pick 9.08, representing a reach that the drafter capitalized on by waiting and taking Devontae Adams at 9.10 instead.

0:58This is Zach Taylor with the Cincinnati Bengals and you're listening to the Sonic Truth Dynasty Podcast.
1:04This is the Sonic Truth Dynasty Podcast. I'm here with both Cody Carpentier and Coach Jeremiah Retzlaff Jeremiah, Cody, me.
1:10What are we talking about? What are we talking about?
1:13Dynasty Startups. I've got 10 values. 10 values. 10 are the top values that I've found in the first 10 rounds of Dynasty Startups.
1:21Cody and I, we're in a couple startups together.
1:24For almost every pick I've made, I've been consulting with Coach.
1:27We've been doing trades in these leagues. We just have a lot of real life, real fantasy drafting scenarios in Dynasty Superflex
1:34Titan Premium formats coming up on the Sonic Truth Dynasty Podcast.
1:38But first, Todd Monken is excited. He is. He can't wait, guys.
1:41He actually can't wait. The coach of the Browns, Todd Monken, he can't wait.
1:46He can't wait to meet with Deion Sanders. I bet he's really excited about it.
1:51He's thrilled. Hey, look, Deion Sanders wants to meet Todd Monken as a coach, coach to coach.
1:56That's the contention. That's what was out there a couple months ago.
2:00And now you get that opportunity. Now, of course, the elephant in the room, and I'd be curious, your opinion, is this going to be the nepotism angle?
2:09People want to know, is this just going to be a nepotism angle or Coach Sanders?
2:14It's the father, Deion Sanders, talking to Todd Monken.
2:17Or do you think it's coach to coach? Hey, this is what has worked for me.
2:22What didn't work when I tried to coach the player, Shador Sanders?
2:25What do you guys think? I personally wonder if potentially Todd Monken will be doing the same thing with Deshaun Watson's quarterback coach, Quincy Avery.
2:33I wonder if he'll go out to Quincy Avery's house, sit down with him for dinner, talk to him coach to coach,
2:40and see how he feels about Deshaun Watson in this Cleveland quarterback competition as well.
2:45I mean, Quincy Avery's more active on Twitter, and you could argue he's similar, not quite as celebrity status as Deion, but coach to coach, I don't know.
2:54What's good for the goose is good for the gander, man.
2:57Might as well be fair about it. I do believe him, though.
3:01I think he can't wait. I think he wakes up in the morning and he's just like, when's Deion coming in?
3:08Can't wait to talk to him. Right? So, this is because Shador Sanders is losing the quarterback competition in Cleveland?
3:14Is this what's happening? How do you read the tea leaves on this thing?
3:19I mean, there's no media in the NFL better than Cleveland at tracking quarterback workouts and completion percentages and touched interceptions, touchdowns,
3:25yardages in OTAs, in fall camp, in everything than the Cleveland media.
3:29And at this point, when I read it, it kind of seems like it kind of seems like the Sean Watson's going
3:36to get the right of first refusal as far as his quarterback situation goes.
3:41And it's like if his arm peters out in late August and there's no gas left in the tank, which is what
3:48we saw the last time he was the starting quarterback, then I think it should do his job to lose at that point.
3:55But it definitely feels like Watson is just a tick ahead of him at this point.
4:00I would think that Shador would have been able to develop throughout the offseason and then come into camp and start to
4:07show why he's a better quarterback, why he's faster at processing information, you know, getting through his read progressions, knowing when to pull the ball.
4:15These are things that Deshaun Watson is actually not that good at.
4:19Right? Deshaun Watson's good at locking in on a guy and then throwing a lollipop downfield.
4:24And when it's Will Fuller, it works. And when it's Isaiah Bond, it doesn't.
4:28That's pretty much the Cleveland system with Deshaun Watson.
4:31That's any system with Deshaun Watson. Deshaun Watson is a quarterback from 10 years ago and they run NFL offenses differently now.
4:38And everybody in Cleveland, everybody, everybody in fantasy football, everybody, period, is ready for a change of quarterback.
4:44And then we saw the upside last year. Didn't Shador Sanders have like a 40-point game?
4:49Against the Titans, he crushed. But the problem is, Matt, you're talking about Monken has said, hey, there's an issue with throwing interceptions in seven on seven.
4:57And that was some shade at Shador Sanders, some praise and propping up for Deshaun Watson.
5:02And then, of course, as Cody alluded to how much they track in Cleveland, we saw that lob up that beautiful ball to Denzel Boston from Deshaun Watson.
5:11So not dead yet is Deshaun Watson. And as Cody said, right of first refusal, I kind of think right now the
5:18edge is to Deshaun Watson and it is his job to lose.
5:22So you should be drafting values accordingly at the present.
5:25That, of course, could change. I think it will change.
5:28There's absolutely no way Deshaun Watson plays 17 games this year.
5:32I will eat this hat, this backwards hat that I'm wearing.
5:35All three of us wearing backwards hats. If Deshaun Watson plays 17 games, get the hell out of here.
5:41I hope we see all four quarterbacks or four quarterbacks on the I hope we see them all.
5:47I want to see them all. I think it'd be fun in the teams where I have Casey Concepcion.
5:53I don't need him to produce this year necessarily to advance my fantasy teams ambitions.
5:58So I really don't care. Right. I have fanning on a couple of teams.
6:02I don't think they're particularly win now, though. There is one that could be win now.
6:07We just don't know what we very well could be teed up for 2027.
6:11I'm not even Harold Fannin, but I don't necessarily need him in 2026.
6:16But I'm in a startup right now and I'm one pick away.
6:19I'm on the clock in a couple startups. I'm in four startups.
6:23They're all super flex. Some are tight in premium.
6:26Some are tight in super premium. Some are just PPR.
6:29And we're going to go through these startups, the strategy, the team building concepts.
6:34This is going to be the thrust of this particular show.
6:37And it's a broadcast. All three of us have these backwards hats on.
6:41And we're doing startup talk, man. It's going to be talking shit on startups with backwards hats.
6:46And the sonic truth. We're going to put up on the screen.
6:50First one, I'll put it up on the screen right now.
6:54Here it is. This is the first startup. Let me give you the backstory.
6:58Not that I really have much of a backstory.
7:01I've been in so many leagues now. I can't even remember where I am.
7:05But I got invited to the startup by some kind member of the audience.
7:10You notice Kyle Lest. He's in here. He's the last pick.
7:13He's one of our great writers at Player Profiler.
7:16And this particular league, as you might assume looking at the screen, and I'll explain exactly who I selected at every pick for everybody right now.
7:24I started Gentry and then Jeremiah Love. And then I went Tate at the 310 and Mendoza at the 403.
7:31And only two tight ends were drafted in that period of time, which tells you right there, okay, this is the one
7:38of the four leagues that I'm in that is not tight end premium.
7:42So, again, 110 Gentry, 203 Jeremiah Love, Carnell Tate at the 310, and then Mendoza at the 403.
7:48Gentlemen, how do you like that start? I think it's pretty solid.
7:51I wondered a little bit, I guess, in round three, if you thought about quarterback and thought about a Mahomes, thought about
7:58a Purdy, or if Tate was kind of your guy going into 310.
8:02But then, obviously, you scroll down and you see a triple-tapped quarterback and the sick value on Dak Prescott.
8:08Is this a start two-wide receiver or three-wide receiver mandatory?
8:12This is a start three-wide receiver. Interesting. So, you knew that going in.
8:16And, I mean, it looks like you kind of came through flush.
8:19I like it. I mean, the two running back hit you had at the start here with Gentry and Love is, if
8:26you're looking to compete now, like having those two cornerstone pieces for you in Dynasty, I like that a lot.
8:33I still have personal worry about Mendoza playing, you know, more than 12 games this year.
8:38But with Shook and Prescott on the back end, I think Shook's one of the biggest risers this whole offseason.
8:44Prescott, the value there in round six, pays for itself.
8:47Like, this is, as, I mean, I'm not saying it's as pure as you can run, but as far as the first
8:54six rounds, it's about as pure as you can run with this kind of plan in place.
9:00Oh, gosh. 510 Shook, 603 Prescott. Prescott. So, I triple tapped quarterback after starting running back, running back, wide receiver, all young guys, like 22 years or younger.
9:08My first four picks. And yet, somehow, that's a riddle in fantasy football.
9:13In Dynasty, how do you compete in year one if the first four players you draft are 22 years old or younger?
9:19This is exactly how you do it. This is the only way to do it.
9:24It would be to go Shook at the 510, Prescott at the 603, then Christian Watson, the newly signed Christian Watson at
9:31the 710, the about-to-be-signed Parker Washington at the 803, and then at the 910 and the 1003, I did the dirtiest thing
9:38you could ever imagine, which is to take a team that was clearly playing for 2027 and grab the steering wheel and
9:45just pull it right in the car, right into traffic, and say, you know what we're going to do here, guys?
9:52At the 910 and the 1003, I'm going to make you pay.
9:56I'm going to make you pay for drafting Isaiah Likely at the 909 and Tony Pollard at the 908 and Omar Cooper
10:02and Jaden Higgins and Jordan Addison prior to this pick.
10:06I'm going to go with a guy who was a full three rounds past his ADP, and that's Devontae Adams.
10:12It's somehow available at the 910, and then it came back around to me, and somehow Matthew Stafford.
10:18NFL MVP Matthew Stafford selected more than two rounds after both Sam Darnold and Bryce Young went off the board.
10:24This team is bordering on absurd. Hey, this start-off, this is sexual, man.
10:28You are fucking the league hard right now. You have two running backs in the top five, and you have a top
10:3510 wide receiver in Carnell Tate, and then you backstop with the quarterbacks that you have with Shuck.
10:41We talked about it. Once you go Shuck, it's going to piss the board off.
10:45Then you manage to come away with Dak Prescott.
10:48You buy the time of Fernando Mendoza for him playing.
10:51You backdoor stack the opportunity for Adams and Stafford.
10:54What a price point. 910 turn. This is a spot where you can't get hurt by them hurting you from where you've built.
11:02You're at a point where you can take a little more risk, and then we have viability where we're midseason.
11:08It's not going your way. You can package Adams and Stafford for some 27 picks.
11:13And then what allows you to do all of this?
11:16The newly signed Christian Watson. Four years, $110 million.
11:19You were able to gap this well by going to three quarterbacks after going Tate in round three.
11:24As your stopgap receiver, number two, we've been talking him up, Christian Watson.
11:28So talk a little bit more. Tell us a little bit more about your excitement here on Watson.
11:34And then eighth round, Parker Washington, who's about to get a deal, James Gladstone.
11:39Talk to us. I mean, I couldn't believe it.
11:41If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That sounds right until you actually do the math.
11:46For most businesses, shipping is that thing. What is it actually costing you?
11:51Because if nobody's questioning it, it's probably costing you way more than it should.
11:55And fortunately, ShipStation makes switching easy and savings are immediate.

12:32That's ShipStation.com, code PLAYER. ShipStation.com, code PLAYER. TEXAS and fees apply.
12:35I can't do better. I just, I don't know how to do better.
12:39I don't believe it's possible to do better. It's not, it's, I can't, I don't know.
12:44I don't know how to do it. I don't know.
12:47And the other thing is, this particular league, I decided to get very active in the chat because I got to tell you, I wasn't loving picking Stafford.
12:56As sexy as this is, right? To just let Mendoza ride on the bench and then rotate in Mendoza, Prescott, and Shuck
13:03into that super flex and QB position. As well as this, the board sort of felt for me, just felt perfectly in line for me.
13:11I still wasn't loving having three quarterbacks, Shuck, Prescott, and Stafford, knowing I could only use two of the three any given week.
13:18Like, to me, that felt slightly inefficient. So I was like, I need to put this pick on the block.
13:25Knowing that it's Stafford and he's still out there, reminding everyone that he's out there.
13:30I went in the chat and I was like, hey, this pick doesn't normally command a first rounder.
13:35But in this particular case, this pick is worth a first rounder.
13:39That was my journal message. And then I sent the most cringeworthy sort of Trumpian message that I have ever sent in my history in fantasy football.
13:48Would you like to hear the chat post when I put this pick on the block?
13:53A hundred percent. Okay. This has, this has, by the way, stimulated.
13:56I'm still scrolling and scrolling and scrolling. This stimulated a lot, a lot of conversation.
14:01I'm happy to do it, man. I'm happy to be the one that goes in there, drops it, and then walks away and lets the conversations ensue.
14:10And I'm still scrolling. I have not found this message.
14:13I don't know where it is. It's somewhere in here.
14:16I may have sent it to you. Did I send it to you?
14:20I think I sent it to you. I'm on the case.
14:24It's here. This is, this was my way of engaging with the league and seeing if I could create demand for this pick.
14:31It's to such a level that I could get a 2027 first rounder out of it.
14:36I wrote as follows right now. We've got three pussycats poking around with 2027 second rounders.
14:41Not going to happen in parentheses. Meanwhile, I'm about to execute a Ram stack from heaven and sail to a championship.
14:48If you want to win this year instead of me, the pick is yours for a 2027 first.
14:53The question is, are there any dogs out there?
14:56D-A-W-G-S. Dogs out there who like winning leagues. Mic drop.
14:59And this was coming from someone who had not engaged with the chat at all ever.
15:04And I haven't actually chatted much in any league that I'm in.
15:08I'm just, I'm just trying to juggle all these orphans and participate and not miss my picks and, and, and, and respond to trade requests.
15:16I'm just, I'm just, I'm trying to keep my head above water.
15:20But then for whatever reason, coach and I were talking about this coach was like, you know, this really does deserve a first rounder in 2027.
15:28And, and I was like, you know what? You're right.
15:31And then I saw immediately people start just hammering me with these offers involving 2027 seconds.
15:36As if like, I didn't say the word first is if I just put 2027 out there.
15:42No, I said first rounder, but they didn't care.
15:44They're just like, Oh, I heard picks. I'm going to just see if I can get this pick for get Matthew Stafford for 2027 second rounder.
15:53Get out of here. Not going to happen. I will say there was one very courageous manager in this league and we were close.
16:00We were close to making a deal and it didn't happen, but it could have happened.
16:05He offered me a 2028 first and I called coach.
16:09We talked about it and it, we, we just couldn't make it work.
16:13We just couldn't quite make it work. Chubb index.
16:15The name of the team was Chubb index. He actually engaged in a well thought out set of trade negotiations in good faith.
16:23And we just couldn't quite come to terms. The time clock ran out on me and I picked Matthew Stafford.
16:29And ever since making that pick, all I've done is feel better and better and better and better about the decision.
16:36I cannot do. Was there anybody that even came close to offering a 27 first?
16:40Like, did they say like, I'll give you 27 first, but I need something, you know, like a 27 second back.
16:47Well, that was the other thing. Like a creative league member would have actually asked for the package of Adams and Stafford.
16:54Yeah. And really put me in the blender. Yeah.
16:57That's what would have done it, man. You would have put me in the blender 2027 first.
17:02First, I'm going to give you Stafford and Adams, which is basically going to guarantee that it's a late pick.
17:09Now, what do I do now? I can't just get a 2027 first out of it.
17:14I got to get more than that. And then it's like, well, now what?
17:18And then now we're suddenly we're having trade talks that are going to ultimately lead to a deal.
17:24That would have that would have actually created the ground, laid the ground for a deal to happen.
17:29That would have been the way to do it.
17:32I mean, I'm looking on the market right now and there's a number of deals that were that show exactly kind of what you're talking about.
17:41I mean, you got shook way earlier, what, five rounds earlier than Stafford went off.
17:45There was a deal that was done yesterday in a super flex league that was essentially Stafford for shook.
17:51Look, as far as his keep trade, keep trade cut value is he's sitting in like 99th overall right now.
17:58And the two startups I'm in in super flex, he's went considerably higher than that 71 and 69.
18:03I think where you got him right here is clear value.
18:07Number one, number two, it does. It's a very interesting conversation to even entertain the 2027 first idea.
18:12I wouldn't have done it. But in a situation like your roster is built in, I would have potentially entertained be on
18:19the opposite side and being like, well, I can get if like if you didn't own that pick, for example, and you
18:26knew some guy was sitting there and needed a quarterback.
18:29And I'm like, I got Adams. I got these other quarterbacks.
18:33I like in Prescott and shook. I got a guy in Mendoza that maybe he doesn't maybe he doesn't play it down
18:40this year, but I like him long term. And it kind of you kind of look at it like that.
18:46You go, I bring in Stafford. He's my QB two slash three this year.
18:51And then next year I'll move on to Mendoza and maybe Stafford retires.
18:55I might entertain the thought, but I don't know if I could.
18:59I don't know if I could pull that that that trigger.
19:02Right. I don't like the Rams trade they made this week with Miles Garrett, non fantasy point here.
19:08Like the verse Jared verse goes back to Cleveland with the first round pick.
19:12I like the first side of that nine times out of 10.
19:16Right. I will take the younger edge rusher that I think has 10 years and the first round pick and change nine times out of 10.
19:24But the one time out of 10 that you don't and the one time that you do take Miles Garrett is when
19:31you're in the situation that the Rams are in, which is kind of what you put this team in right now, that
19:38your dynasty team, how you build it so far is in that one situation where you might click the button.
19:44You might make the trade because it's the one thing that could make the difference.
19:49There's a lot of fun roster construction elements that come out of this because I have enough youth.
19:55I have round adjusted youth all that you would need.
19:58Right. So theoretically, most picks after the 10th round are fragile.
20:01They're at risk of eventually players being dropped. We've seen players get drafted in round 11, 12, 13, 14.
20:07And at some point in the season, they just get dropped like they just it was completely speculative and it did not
20:14work out or they were super old. You thought there was another year left and they didn't give you that year and it's over.
20:22Right. And so they're dropped. That happens all the time with a lot of picks.
20:27And it's actually demoralizing to go back and see where you drafted those guys.
20:31You're like, oh, God, really? Oh, geez. We've all been in that situation.
20:35Everybody has. So at this point, because I have Parker Washington, who's 24 and Shuck, who's 25 and Mendoza and Tate and
20:42Love and Gente and had these guys for years and years and years and years.
20:47I could now fill out my roster with veterans and still be set up for success for years and years and years and years.
20:55I could really go for it this year with the fuck you on my bench of I have championships for years out from here, guys.
21:02Look at my bench. Look at Mendoza. Look at Tate.
21:06Look at look at everybody. This is not that I'm going to bench Tate.
21:10It's conceivable. The bottom line is look at what I've built.
21:14Look at the youth profile of my team and basically just give up.
21:18Just give up on ever winning. If you look at my team, I could put the league in that position.
21:24If I lean into just the player with the highest possible 2026 projection with each and every pick moving forward where I'm
21:31drafting David Njoku and I'm drafting name a player.
21:34Player X, Aaron Jones, all these guys that just fall and fall and fall like there's no floor into how far they can fall.
21:41And I'm like, at some point, I'll take him.
21:44Right. I guess I'll take him. You know, I'll put him on my roster.
21:49I'll take a chance. I might draft Alvin Kamara.
21:51I might draft Debo Samuel. Right. I might draft Tyree Kill to put him on IR.
21:57Jordan Mason. These are some players that I could draft, but I'm not even going to think about drafting him now.
22:03I'm going to wait rounds and rounds when there's just this.
22:07You see this happen. It's almost like a sifting machine that sifts all the young players out of the player pool.
22:13And then the top of the ADP board, when you go to pick is like 20 to 25 veteran players that no one has any interest in.
22:22And I'll be the one shopping in those aisles for like the last 10 rounds of the draft.
22:28When everyone's trying to get like these, these micro upside plays that will end up being dropped.
22:33I'm taking guys. I know we're going to produce this year.
22:36I could just go back this well for the rest of the draft.
22:40That is a way of I could approach it that way where I could just turn this whole thing into win now mode starting now.
22:48Well, you've given yourself a free look, at least how you set it up, because if you get midway into the season, we talked about Halloween.
22:57I mean, your team somehow, maybe it's injury, misfortune.
22:59You get there and you're not competing. You have this on the table, these negotiations, which you had with that good faith
23:06partner and maybe some more people who are more desperate for Adams and Stafford to come back on the table.
23:13So just because today's price didn't happen, the best thing you did in this transaction, because there was you were trying to
23:20push for a 27 second with that 28 first.
23:23And that was going to move it in the direction and they stopped shy.
23:27I think you can push desperation when the games and points are being scored.
23:31You have another opportunity. So the beauty is you walked away from a firm offer that will come back again.
23:38So you just have to have that skill, that toughness, that discipline to wait it out and understand in the next six months, things will play out.
23:46And you also have whatever happens, you'll do. If you're winning, you'll keep pushing.
23:51If you're losing, it'll necessitate your trades and that'll dictate the market.
23:54So you've set yourself in a good spot for things to just play out organically.
23:59You cannot fade older players just because you think your team is built for 2027 or is designed to be a youth takeover strategy.
24:07I'm implementing a youth takeover strategy. The earliest I could potentially compete is 2027, more likely 2028.
24:12Let's say you're in that situation. It's still in your interest to select Devante Adams and Matthew Stafford, because they will have
24:19a lot of value to contending teams in November.
24:22So when I picked them, when I picked them, and at this point, it's been days ago because these are slow drafts, right?
24:29When I made these picks, it was two days ago.
24:32It's crazy. I was thinking, okay, I'm selecting Adams and Stafford in order to flip them to a contender at the end of October.
24:40And probably get a 2027 first out of it.
24:43If I don't get it now, I can get it later, right?
24:47That's the beauty of it. And that is why if you are designing a youth first build, that doesn't necessarily mean you can't draft old players.
24:55What it really means is you want to stay out of the middle in the middle rounds.
25:00Like you don't want to be drafting a lot of players at or just beyond the age apex.
25:06You want to stay out of the middle in that way.
25:09What you want to do is take some young players, but then also take older players that you know are time-bombed, cheap,
25:16and are out in the open, flippable assets. You put them on the block immediately as soon as the season starts.
25:23Those guys are going on the block. So that's what I mean by staying out of the middle.
25:29If you want to go with a youth takeover, generally speaking, these teams have very few players that are actually at the age apex.
25:36You got some old options that you're flipping and you have young options that you're building on.
25:42That was what I intended with this. And at this very moment, now that we've had all these conversations, and again, I've
25:49laid it out how I could optimize my chances for 2027 with this particular roster.
25:53The more I think about it, the more I want to go compete this year, fellas.
25:58The more I want to go compete this year.
26:01And we have the ultimate pick in the queue.
26:04We have the ultimate bookend wide receivers. The polar opposite options.
26:08We have the 30-year-old, well past the age apex, who is very much a win-now option at value, just like Devontae Adams was when I picked him.
26:16And that's Chris Godwin. The other option is a rookie that should have been gone by now based on ADP.
26:22And if I'm building for 2027, he is the clear option.
26:26And that is Chris Bell. So I want to ask the audience, everyone that's listening live on Facebook, on YouTube, our new
26:33YouTube channel, got to subscribe to it. Player Profiler Dynasty channel.
26:36People are tuned in and active in the chat from the Dynasty channel.
26:40You love to see it. All of you on Twitter, wherever, X, let us know.
26:45What should I do? Is it Godwin or is it Bell?
26:49I think it's got to be Godwin. That's where I'm at.
26:52You go, Godwin. Go with Godwin. And when the season starts, when you're in the thick of it right now, Godwin doesn't inspire anything.
27:00Doesn't get the blood flowing to the plums. But once the season starts, he will be showered with targets.
27:06It's Chris Godwin right off the jump. And I contend at the 12-3, when you wrap around, depending on how you like
27:13to do this with other positions, if you want Chris Bell bad enough, you can get Chris Bell.
27:18No, no, no, no, no, no, no. If you want a copy, you can make a copy.
27:24You can keep a copy. You go Gatson at the wraparound.
27:27So I'm going Godwin. I'm doing neither at the wraparound.
27:30Based on this book, The Dynasty Dominator. What does it talk about?
27:34Stacking. You stack all positions. You want your handcuffs in Dynasty.
27:38You want to stack. You want both Pickens and Flournoy.
27:41You want Amon Ra and Jameson Williams. And especially if you have those two guys, you really want Isaac Tesla.
27:47So I'll just tell you right now, some people might be listening.
27:51But I am loyal to content. I am loyal to the audience.
27:55I hide nothing. We've talked about this before, and I'll say it again.
27:59I will let important strategic information be released on this show that could hurt me in these leagues because I love this audience so much.
28:07And they support us on Patreon, patreon.com slash podfather.
28:10There you can see my top 10 values. The best value plays that I've experienced personally in these startups so far.
28:16That's how you support the show. And that's how I can look myself in the mirror and give away critical information to
28:23my league mates with open eyes and an open heart.
28:26Because I know you're going to get a lot out of it.
28:30I think the move, fellas, is to go in.
28:33Continue just fucking this league. Just continue. Just to move in.
28:36Just keep moving in. Moving in. Grinding, grinding, grinding on this league.
28:40Turning it into dust as I just sit on top of this thing.
28:44Just grinding it into ground. Okay? The way to do that is Chris Godwin, who should not be available here.
28:51He should not be available. Can we just talk about the receivers that went?
28:55Now, there's a bunch of receivers that I would have been eager to push the button on right now.
29:01But sadly, they were all drafted. So I want to give a lot of credit.
29:06I tip my cap. It's a backwards hat. So I'm just kind of pushing it down.
29:11But cap tip to my league mates here. Listen to how they really gave it to me in this.
29:17I thought for sure I had three wide receivers in my queue.
29:21Have you ever done this? Put three players in your queue.
29:24You had to rip up the queue and start over.
29:27It's annoying. It's really annoying. But I had to do it.
29:31Because Moss underscore goes Josh Downs. That's who I wanted.
29:34Heartbreaking. Because that guy gives you the youth and gives you the production.
29:38That's like Parker Washington. Best of both worlds, right?
29:41Jaden Reed. Not old. And then Jalen Coker. In four picks.
29:44The three receivers I had queued up. Gone, gone, gone.
29:48And then I was considering Michael Pittman also gone.
29:50And I'm like, what am I going to do?
29:53Well, this league is telling me what they want me to do.
29:57I'm just letting the league let me just flow to where I need to be.
30:02They really want me to take Chris Godwin here.
30:05Just like they wanted me to go Adam Stafford and stack these Rams at just ridiculous value.
30:10They want me to go Chris Godwin. I'm going to go Chris Godwin.
30:14And when it comes back around, we're going to dare them to go with rookie wide receivers.
30:19Antonio Williams still out there. Chris Bell, as we talked about, top of my queue right now.
30:25But guess who else is out there? Ted Hurst.
30:28Ted Hurst. So that is what we do. I think we go Godwin with this pick with the intention.
30:34I'm going to do it right now. I'm making the pick.
30:37Going to hit the draft button right now. Rate the second.
30:41I'm doing it. All right, we're doing it. Says the draft is paused.
30:45Why is the draft paused? Damn it. The draft is paused.
30:48Maybe I can do it on my app. Maybe they know that we are live.
30:53Maybe they're watching and hopefully not. Do you think that's what's happening?
30:57Potentially. Potentially they know that we're live. I don't know.
31:00That's potentially a thing. Yeah, the other 11 people drop work and they're watching right now.
31:05Usually when it's paused overnight. It's definitely not overnight.
31:08This is midday. You can make a pick. This particular draft is paused.
31:12Did they pause because we were live looking at it?
31:15Potentially. So we can't make this pick. So, okay, once this pick is unpaused, I'm letting everybody know I'm taking Godwin and
31:22then I'm going to take Hurst on the way back.
31:25Can I just say that? Because on previous Sonic Truths, we've talked about my hate for the reports that come out from
31:32the Bob Joneses of the world from the Arizona Gazette.
31:35Right? These are fake names here. From like a month or two ago that was, you know, Bob Jones believes that Chris
31:42Godwin is going to be primed for a wide receiver one rule.
31:46Right? I hate that. But what I love, what I love is when football players have football pads or pants or cleats
31:53on the football field and then they get asked a question after practice and it comes from the horse's mouth.
31:59And it's from Chris Godwin saying, it's a blessing to be back anytime you have the ability to train for performance instead of recovery.
32:07These are two different things. It's a huge difference.
32:10And I enjoy being out with my guys. I found myself blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
32:15But it feels like he's back to his old self.
32:19Mind you, this is a guy that is married to a nutritional scientist, got a degree from Penn State, a certified personal trainer.
32:26He's also, you know, professional athlete. Like this is what I love.
32:30I love these things, these notes. I hate the Bob Jones believes that blah, blah, blah.
32:35Right? So I'm 10 toes down, 10 toes down on this Chris Godwin thing and him bouncing back to being what we
32:42once knew he was, which was a thousand yard wide receiver at the same time that Mike Evans was racking up those thousand yard seasons as well.
32:50I think this is a, this is one of those picks that you may, you know, you maybe don't love it.
32:57And like you're entertaining Chris Bell, you're entertaining these other things.
33:00But when you look at the way your roster is built right now, again, there is a little bit of volatility with Christian Watson.
33:08And there's a little bit of volatility built in there with Parker Washington.
33:12Like there's, there's, there's target guys around Parker Washington.
33:15As much as I love Parker Washington, Brian Thomas is going to bounce back.
33:19Brenton Strange is going to get his targets. And Devonta Adams is still competing with Buka Nakua.
33:25The one thing you know about Chris Godwin is yes.
33:28And Mecca Buka is there, but you've seen him do it and adding him to this wide receiver group.
33:34I think only bolsters the strength of it so that in week eight, if one of those guys isn't performing or another
33:41one of those guys is injured, like you aren't slowing down at all.
33:45You may be even be taking a tick up putting Godwin that lineup.
33:49Four straight seasons. Godwin was averaging or on pace for 140 targets in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024.
33:54Now 2024 was the key year. That wasn't that long ago, but he only played in seven games.
34:00But in those games, 19.7 fantasy points per game.
34:03He had the last season last year where it was just the double jeopardy of having several lower body injuries caught up to him.
34:11Right. He was like, I can I can grind it.
34:14I can grind it out, you know, through these hamstring strains.
34:17But you want to, you know, if it's a hip and a hamstring and a knee.
34:22OK, all right. I'm not I'm not going to deliver this year.
34:26OK, and he didn't write. You had 10 fantasy points a game last year.
34:30Wasn't great, but he's back and healthy, just like you said.
34:34And he's only 30 years old. And if you look at his athleticism on playerprofiler.com, I like to see this because it's like the Steve Smith corollary.
34:42If a guy has a lot of fast twitch and a lot of explosive athleticism and he takes care of his body.
34:49Yes, that will it will degrade over time. But by the time Chris Godwin is, say, 33, he'll be at a lesser level of explosiveness.
34:57But it will still be much greater than a 33 year old receiver that didn't start at that point of 91st percentile
35:04speed score the way Chris Godwin does. So he has athleticism to burn as he ages.
35:09That's why I think that and also his game, that slot flanker game, it ages better.
35:14He's 30 now. I could see him in the league being productive for age 30, 31 and 32.
35:20That's 2026, 2027, 2028. And that's those are pretty much the seasons that we're projecting when we set up our lifetime value system for dynasty leagues.
35:28And you know that when he's on the field, Chris Godwin will get deference from Baker Mayfield.
35:34He's going to get fed. And the beauty is, too, all those dents in the can with the missing the games the past two seasons cumulatively.
35:42Well, that's baked into your price now in the double digit rounds.
35:46So you're just going to keep crushing the league with value plays like this.
35:50And let's say you get in the season a mid year free look.
35:54Maybe it's two thirds and 27. Maybe it's a back end 27 second because somebody's under the gun.
36:00Chris Godwin's overperforming, but your team is underperforming. There's a whole lot of liquidity and viability.
36:05And again, another free look that you're going to get.
36:08We are well over a half hour in and we've looked at one startup.
36:13So we so we we have a lot more to go.
36:16This is the second startup we're getting into. I'm like, we have a sense of urgency here.
36:21OK, so this startup, we're not nearly as far along in this particular startup.
36:26But I do love to see right here. Cody Carpenter at the 101.
36:30There is a lot of people from the player profiler universe that are in this particular startup with us.
36:36Cody kicked it off in tight end super premium.
36:39This is a tight end premium that is it's half PPR.
36:42And so it's double that. So it's half PPR, but full PPR for tight ends.
36:47That's why you saw Brock Bowers go at the 102.
36:50Jerry Sinclair took Amon Ross St. Brown at the 103.
36:53I haven't seen him go quite that early before.
36:56And then Drake May went at the 104. I'm just explaining who went.
37:00So you know how I got B. John at the 105.
37:04So already I'm a little bit ahead of the game here getting B.
37:08John at the 105. And then on the way back, Herbert.
37:11Now on our dynasty rankings, dynasty deluxe, you can go check it out.
37:15And you'll see we have Herbert ahead of Burrow.
37:18And I'm not sorry. That's just where we have him.
37:21We have. And then so if I can get anytime I can get Herbert after Burrow goes.
37:27Sure. Why not? Right. And here's a little bit more about dynasty deluxe.
37:31What does player profiler do best? Dynasty. We have the best dynasty rankings there are.
37:36Oh, they have Titan Premium. Oh, it's Superflex. Oh, but also win now mode versus rebuild mode.
37:41The most sophisticated best rankings using player profiler data that exist in the world are available on playerprofiler.com.
37:47Big surprise. That's right. There's a trade analyzer to know should I make this trade or not?
37:52And then there's a trade finder. There's Dynasty League Sync.
37:55There's an ADP tracker. All the tools Dynasty League players need.
37:59So get it now. It's $45. Not per month.
38:02Per year. So let's go start building super teams.
38:04Tomorrow morning is knocking. Stock your fridge now. How about a creamy mocha frappuccino drink?
38:09Or a sweet vanilla. Smooth caramel maybe. Or white chocolate mocha.
38:13Whichever you choose, delicious coffee awaits. Find Starbucks frappuccino drinks wherever you buy your groceries.
38:17Zootopia 2 has come home to Disney+. Let's go.
38:20Get ready for a new case. We're going to crack this case and prove we're the greatest partners of all time.
38:27New friends. You are... Gary the Snake. And your last name?
38:30The Snake. Dream team. New habitats. Zootopia has a secret reptile population.
38:34You can watch the record-breaking phenomenon at home. You're clearly working it.
38:38Zootopia 2. Now available on Disney Plus Rated PG.
38:41Bijan at the 105. Herbert at the 208. Then Mahomes at the 308.
38:45After Lawrence and Dart. Brr. And then of course, which is a theme, watching Dak Prescott fall and fall and fall.
38:52Fell behind Nico Collins even. And Roma Dunze. So just so we can catch up everybody.
38:57Carpentier took Allen and then Nix Egbuka at the 2-3 turn.
39:00And then he took Adunze Judkins at the 4-5 turn.
39:033-4 turn was a Mech Egbuka. It was a third round reversal.
39:07Oh, yes. This was third round reversal. Thank you, Cody.
39:10So it was Egbuka, Adunze. Adunze was actually the 401.
39:13And you took Adunze before Carnell Tate. My question for you, Cody, is knowing what we know now that Roma Dunze claims
39:20his foot will never be the same, yikes, would you have still selected Adunze before Carnell Tate?
39:26Of course not. And like you said earlier, these are things that have been going on.
39:31This draft has been going on for this one in particular has been going on for about a month.
39:37Long time. New information has come to light, man.
39:40New information has come to light four rounds after I took Roma Dunze 401.
39:44I'll be honest with you, in all reality, we've known he's been banged up, but we didn't know that it was to
39:51this extent and that he'd never be the same, that Allen Robinson's like, hey, that's what I had in year nine.
39:58And I was never the same after that. And we're like, yikes.
40:01That would have moved my head to Tate versus Burden at that point.
40:05And I probably clicked the Tate button. So that stings a little bit, but it is what it is.
40:11I did it in another league too, where I ended up with Caleb and Roma Dunze.
40:17So I'm into the Roma Dunze stuff pretty deep right now.
40:20Yeah. You're pot committed on Roma Dunze. I actually don't have any.
40:24I love Roma Dunze. It's one of those weird, this happens once in a while where you love a player, especially with me taking over all these orphans.
40:33I just don't happen to have any Dunze. I was looking for some, I want some.
40:38And I was like, I have a lot more Marvin Harrison Jr.
40:42than I have Roma Dunze. It's just because people with Marvin Harrison Jr.
40:46were demoralized and let their teams go. Oh, thanks guys.
40:49So no Dunze for me, but I want some, and I might use this as a buying opportunity now.
40:55With my team, I picked again, Bijan, Herbert, Mahomes, Prescott.
40:58Then at the 508, Zay Flowers, 605, Cam Scadaboo.
41:01And because this is tight end super premium, shockingly, was able to get Kenyon Sadiq at the 708.
41:06That one surprised me. And I'm currently on the clock.
41:10So you all are going to help me make a pick.
41:13Now this, this league, unlike the other league is not paused randomly.
41:17I'm on the clock. I have six hours and 53 minutes to pick.
41:21We're certainly going to make a pick before this, this time, this time clock runs out.
41:26Well, before we make the pick on the show, but coach, what do you think of this team build so far for me?
41:33I love how you have it. It's a little scattered around in a good way for you.
41:39Getting Patrick Mahomes there in round three is an absolute steal.
41:42Looks like he's quarterback 12. So he should really be quarterback nine for dynasty purposes, but you're just getting across the board in the industry.
41:50You're getting a discount on Patrick Mahomes. Seven years of 4,000 or more passing yards, two over five.
41:56Last year, over 3,500, but he was three games shy.
41:59So he would have had another 4,000 yard season.
42:02You get 300 to 400 rushing yards a season for Patrick Mahomes.
42:06I love what you have Herbert Mahomes and you kind of yank the steering wheel again on the league by going Dak Prescott.
42:13You take all the pressure off. Now you can just pluck away at the other positions we talked about on trade gods, Zay Flowers.
42:20You can't throw him high enough. So I'm glad you were able to get him.
42:25We love Cam Scadabo. Cam Scadabo, he spoke on the fact that he will be game speed ready for training camp.
42:32Now that is player optimism speaking, but it's just something to favor your team in the event that that is true.
42:38As you're sitting here, you get Kenyon Sadiq. I would like you to continue.
42:43I know you have in your queue. I want you to go and get Parker Washington because just as we're on the
42:50other side, just an hour ago of Christian Watson news, pretty soon we're going to be on the other side of Parker
42:57Washington and he's going to raise precipitously. Put it this way, where you're at right now, you will not be able to
43:04get Parker Washington, let's say this time next week, because there's an extension out there for Washington.
43:09The value is going to accrue on Parker Washington.
43:12I am very tempted. Again, I selected him in the previous draft that we looked at.
43:17I want him again. My only hesitation is this is a tight end super premium.
43:22And I was having some regret after I took Zay Flowers.
43:25My other choice was Kyle Pitts. I thought it was possible, but unlikely that Pitts would make it back to me.
43:32And he didn't. And then as soon as Jerry took Kyle Pitts, I was like, oh man.
43:37I mean, Kyle Pitts, he is one of those top 10 values that we put out there on Patreon.
43:43He's had incredibly productive seasons. His rookie year was right there with Loveland and Warren's rookie year.
43:49And then last year, he was the tight end two, mostly on spike weeks, right?
43:53There's some unsustainable 40-point performances. But he's a tight end that can give you a 40-point performance.
43:59You can look at that in two ways. That's exciting to me.
44:03In tight end super premium, I'm still not sure Flowers was the way.
44:07So let me know in the comments, everybody. Flowers versus Pitts in tight end super premium.
44:12That one was really tough for me to decide.
44:15How do you both feel about Kyle Pitts versus Sam Laporta?
44:18Because if you look at Sam Laporta's 23 and Pitts 25 season, they're eerily similar.
44:23118 targets for Pitts, 120 for Laporta. 88 receptions for Pitts, 86 for Laporta.
44:2710.5 for Pitts, yards per reception, 10.3 for Laporta.
44:30The touchdowns were the difference. Five for Pitts last year, Laporta in 23, 10.
44:34Tight end two last year was Pitts. Laporta in 23 was tight end one.
44:39Their 30-point difference in fantasy points was solely touchdowns.
44:42So touchdowns matter. Kyle Pitts gets 10 touchdowns this year.
44:45Are you sitting there, Matt, saying you want him over the ceiling of, say, Flowers right now?
44:50I don't know, man. I think it's a real challenge.
44:53The next pick when it came back around to me, I was considering Sam Laporta.
44:58So it came back around. Pitts went. But then it came back to me.
45:03And that's when I took Scadaboo at the 605 because he's the last true bell cow left.
45:08Like Scadaboo is another one of these guys that I have listed as a value because he's the last of a clear tier of these all-purpose workhorse backs.
45:17He's just going to be in a bad situation with the Giants offense.
45:21Like, he's taking a step back this year. So that was very much a consideration.
45:26But for whatever reason, I was like, I think I might be able to get a good tight end at the 708.
45:33I just had a feeling. And I have to say, when I look back at these picks, Flowers over Pitts versus Scadaboo
45:40over Laporta, the one I feel more nervous about was Flowers over Pitts.
45:44I feel pretty damn good about Scadaboo over Laporta.
45:47I think that's right, too. Like, the Laporta thing for me is he's in such an interesting spot.
45:52His injury last year was a vertebrae injury in the back.
45:56And he missed seven games on IR. And he's competing with the Monterey St.
46:00Brown. Jameson, of course, everyone knows Jameer Gibbs is there.
46:03Probably going to get an uptick in his role this year as well.
46:07And I feel like long-term Laporta is going to be fine, but he doesn't feel destined to continue to be like a
46:14top five consensus tight end conversation at this point.
46:17Like, where Kraft is starting to move into, where Pitts has been, and we kind of know who our top five guys are right now.
46:25It just kind of feels like he's in no man's land, really, and waiting to be surpassed by the Sadiqs, the Gadsden's,
46:32and a couple others that I won't mention out there that are still available.
46:36And I think Laporta's just in a weird spot, and I would agree with you that if I was going to put
46:43my money on one of these being wrong, it's going to be the Flowers over Pitts side.
46:49Because Flowers is going to be competing with a lot of new weaponry.
46:53It's a new regime there. I love Flowers. Think he has the world of upside.
46:58But in that offense, it's just every year. It doesn't matter what he does unless it's hitting his apex.
47:04Year over year, you're going to be worried about him.
47:07Whereas I look at Pitts, it's like he's competing with Drake London, sure.
47:11But there's new quarterbacks. You know, Tua Tungvaluwa could improve this thing a little bit.
47:16And Pitts has shown us his ability to bounce back after the fall off after year one.
47:21And I think Pitts is going to be a long, you know, a lasting stay in this conversation where I can't say the same about Laporta.
47:29Your question, if Pitts, if you go Pitts, Matt, Sadiq, instead of the Sadiq pick, is there a receiver opposite of mirrored
47:36of Zay Flowers, who you won't go with? Let's say we reconnoiter it to Pitts.
47:41What receiver in that pocket are you then have a zeal for?
47:45And do you prefer the Pitts and the tight end super premium to that receiver who is going to replace Sadiq?
47:51Yeah, it's a good question. What it came down to was I'm in some of these leagues that are half PPR, but
47:58the tight end gets the full PPR treatment. If it were that scoring system, I would have gone Pitts.
48:04Because it was full PPR, that does raise up Zay Flowers relative to quarterbacks and tight ends and running backs.
48:11So that ended up being the tiebreaker. But I mean, that was the most difficult choice of all the startups I've been
48:18in so far was at that pick in the fifth round at the 508 Flowers versus Pitts in full PPR, tight end super premium.
48:25That decision's about as hard as it gets. And now we're going to make a very similar decision because I'm on the clock.
48:33And again, this league is not paused, unlike the other league that for whatever reason was paused.
48:38This league is live. We have to make a pick.
48:41And I have three players queued up that I want to talk to you about.
48:46I have the stack with Dak Prescott in the form of Jake Ferguson, tight end super premium.
48:51There's also the raw upside of George Kittle, knowing I already have Sadiq, staying out of the middle and having the last
48:58year of a guy's last ride as an elite option in San Francisco, assuming he is healthy after this ruptured Achilles and George Kittle.
49:06And so I love, love, love Sadiq, Kelsey, Sadiq Kittle.
49:09And just getting, hey, this is who I can play this year.
49:13And then I know that they can retire and we can push them off into the sunset.
49:18And here comes Sadiq. So that feels very good to me.
49:22Either of those options feel good. Or Jake Ferguson, he gets 100 plus targets to the last three years in tight end super premium.
49:29That's very valuable. Plus stacking with Dak Prescott, very attractive.
49:32And then there's the third option. The third option is seeing that a bunch of wide receivers have gone off the board.
49:39Brian Thomas, Jalen Waddell, Casey Concepcion, Christian Watson. And I think a player that is in that tier and is also about
49:46to sign a contract and won't be available at this pick any longer is Parker Washington.
49:51So it's between Ferguson, Kittle and Parker Washington, fellas.
49:54As someone that picks after you, I'm going to allow Coach to answer this.
49:58I'm the next pick. So let's shout out, Cody, to the Concepcion pick.
50:03You could not have made a better pick there.
50:05Just want to say that. I would go Parker Washington here and play.
50:10You can run down the board on tight end.
50:12Continue to chase that down. I think you go Parker Washington because you have a guaranteed pocket value of a player whose value will increase.
50:20So you already know where I stand on Parker Washington.
50:23But to say it again, I'll go with Parker Washington here.
50:27And is a Flowers. Who else do you have at the receiver position?
50:31That's it. Yeah. So that well is going to dry up too as well.
50:35Here's another wrinkle. This roster only has two active wide receiver positions.
50:39So in tight end super premium, I can play Sadiq, Kittle and Ferguson all in flex.
50:44And I already have my wide receiver one. I just need to find some production from a lot of options out there in my wide receiver two chair.
50:53If I'm committed to playing tight ends in flex.
50:56You go. Well, at that point, you would go George Kittle, who is fancy points per game factory anywhere from two to six when he's healthy.
51:04Key point being when he's healthy. But you want to rip the bandaid and get some immediate print points in a tight end super premium.
51:12It is George Kittle. All things equal and healthy.
51:15He's the clip. Cody, I know you're picking next.
51:18And here's the thing that makes it truly absurd what we're doing right now.
51:22And you'll never, I mean, you could listen to Dynasty podcasts now until the end of time and never have this exact scenario.
51:30Cody is the 101, but he traded to get the pick that comes directly after me.
51:35And he happens to have no tight ends right now.
51:38He is the one team with not a single tight end on the roster.
51:42So this guy really needs a tight end. And it's going to come all the way back around to me.
51:48He's not going to be able to pick again until 912.
51:52He is going tight end. How'd you know? I don't know what his preference is necessarily.
51:57The other option here is Eli Stowers. I think Eli Stowers for someone who just took Casey Concepcion would be very interesting.
52:04I also think it would be interesting for me.
52:07I could go with a youth takeover with Eli Stowers here and then just pick Kelsey or whatever, you know, guy that
52:14I think is going to produce, especially a high target number this year.
52:18Someone like Ferguson, someone like Kelsey, even if they don't have the yards per reception.
52:23So I could do that as well. It's another option.
52:26Ideally, in this particular situation, we find a way to really screw Cody.
52:30I want to screw him over bad. The more we can fuck him, the better.
52:35I really want to just take him out to the woodshed right here.
52:39Well, do you think Cody's build? Let's look at Cody's build to the left.
52:43And would his tight end, would it accrue a youthful youth movement?
52:47Because the way his team is built is very young.
52:50I would think somebody like Stowers would fuck him over because that's part of the youth movement path.
52:56Yeah, he has Judkins. Look at his average age.
52:59It's Judkins, Ibuka, Marvin Harrison, Adunze, Josh Allen, Bo Nix.
53:02He did not pick Derrick Henry because that was the trade that happened.
53:06There was a trade where he gave up a pick and then he traded back and then he gave up the 712.
53:13And now he's picking at the 806. So this is very much a young team.
53:18If I were in Cody's shoes and I'm just all in on basically he's really all in on 2028 with giving himself
53:25maybe a chance in 2027, then this pick is going to be all about Eli Stowers.
53:30Right. It's all about Eli Stowers here for him.
53:32So I really feel like we should pick Stowers.
53:35Bingo. I think if we pick Stowers here, it would be absolutely a just a hilarious fuckery.
53:41And I don't know if Cody would ever be able to recover.
53:44This is what everyone's talking about. Everything's on the table.
53:48This is what champions come to take. This is what everyone came to see.
53:52And the slam! No do-overs. No second chances. No more Mr.
53:56Nice Guy. This is winner take all. The NBA Finals continue on ABC and the ESPN app.
54:01You thought this was your run club era. Turns out it was more of a thinking about run club era.
54:07The good news? Someone's marathon training is about to start.
54:10Sell your workout gear on Depop. Just snap a few photos and we'll take care of the rest.
54:16They get their race day fit and you get a payout for trying.
54:20Someone on Depop wants what you've got. Start selling now.
54:23Depop. Where taste recognizes taste. His lips are sealed but I think that's the way you go.
54:29He's not going to be excited about George Kittle.
54:32Not with that build. Cody is not a threat to draft George Kittle.
54:36And I just don't know how much of an appetite for tight ends the rest of this league has.
54:42There's a few tight ends drafted here. But I feel like there are a couple teams that's you know if we look through the teams here.
54:50We know Carpentier doesn't have a tight end. There's a couple teams with tight ends here.
54:55But you know I don't I haven't perceived like this being one of those leagues that is over correcting for the tight end super premium scoring.
55:03I mean put it this way it's tight end super premium scoring but Harold Fannin went at the 407.
55:09Again we talk about Pitts at the 511. Sadiq at the 708.
55:13This tells me this league especially now that a lot of these these teams have a tight end.
55:19It tells me that there's a chance that they could easily let and we know that people just don't like to draft old tight ends.
55:27They don't want to push the button on George Kittle.
55:30No one is excited to push the button on Kelsey.
55:33So if you have Sadiq you should be able to get one of these older tight ends on the way back around hell.
55:40It could even be Ferguson. Even Ferguson could make it all the way back.
55:45But I think we all know who's not going to make it back and that's Parker Washington.
55:50And that is the answer. That is a direction we're going coach.
55:54You have not led me astray yet. Cody do you you co-sign this.
55:58We go Parker Washington. Then you you're allowed to take Stowers and we're not going to get in your way.
56:04No pass on you can you can do it.
56:07We're going Parker Washington. That's a dead giveaway. It's beautiful man.
56:11You got him. We got him. We got Parker.
56:13We got him. He's going to sign a contract any day now.
56:17Contract extension. Now Carpenter's up. We'll see what Cody picks here.
56:21Cody you have your pick ready to go. You have Stowers ready to go.
56:25I do and I and I have three names in my queue as well.
56:29And they're all three tight ends. Tell us. You know who one of them is.
56:34You brought him up. Eli Stowers of course is in here.
56:38The other one is Isaiah likely who just got a big deal.
56:42Massive deal to follow Harbaugh to the Giants. And he is seeing this wide receiver room in smithereens and now in age and he's foaming at the mouth.
56:50And I trust Isaiah likely but I don't know if I'm quite there to take him here.
56:56And I also have Stowers ahead of him in Dynasty.
56:59And then I have this other problem that there's this third player that is in a contract year as well and waiting
57:06to get a deal here in the next I would say 10 months.
57:10I don't think it'll happen this year because I think he's going to be on a fresh new team next spring because
57:17I don't think that he's going to be retained.
57:20And that's Brenton Strange who is the other Jacksonville target here.
57:23So as you can see on this we can't see it on the screen anymore.
57:28But Brian Thomas went straight right above here in this exact at the 7-7 last round.
57:33Parker Washington just goes to you guys to 8-5.
57:36And I was in here at 8-6. Don't have a tight end.
57:40And that's where my brain is at. My brain is on the Brenton Strange side of the conversation where last year banged
57:47up, missed a couple of games, played 12 games, 60 targets, 540 yards, did the touchdowns.
57:52He was kind of set up with Evan Ingram departing to be a 100-plus target guy, and he was trending towards that direction.
57:59And he looked really good when he was healthy but didn't quite get there.
58:03And I am in full belief that he will be on a new team next year.
58:08I have him and Stowers back-to-back in Dynasty right now, and I can't sell myself on Strange, so the pick is going to be Eli Stowers.
58:17Of course it's Stowers. Hey, look at this. We got an answer why it's paused.
58:21This guy writes, the other league is not paused randomly.
58:25It's because you're buy-in. You haven't sent your buy-in.
58:27The draft is paused for you, Podfather. Podfather at rotawonderworld.com.
58:31If you want me to pay, send me the instructions there.
58:34If I got an email from you to pay, I'll pay.
58:38If you don't email me, I'm not going to pay.
58:41That's it. I don't know how the hell. I don't check the messages in the app.
58:46I'm not a big chatter, as we've talked about.
58:49If the link was in there, I probably would have picked and selected it.
58:53I haven't seen a link in the chat, and I haven't gotten an email from these people.
58:58That's all I can tell you. If you're starting a startup, by the way, everybody out there, so this doesn't happen, and
59:05it's not all awkward and weird, and you've randomly paused your draft for no reason, I got a piece of advice for you.
59:13Why don't you collect everyone's dues before the startup starts?
59:16Oh, geez. That's an option, isn't it? Couldn't we do that?
59:19Because what if I don't pay? Right? Of course, I will.
59:23I'm good for it. Certainly, you don't need to pause the draft because you haven't emailed me the link to pay yet.
59:30But, yes, you have to email me. And if there's some other way, carrier pigeon or whatever, well, you could text me,
59:37too, but I don't think anyone in this league has my cell phone.
59:41Yes, there's several ways that you can get a hold of me.
59:45Actually, you know what I would do if I was in the chat and someone said, hey, the commissioner needs your cell phone to pay that way.
59:53Fine. I'll give my Venmo. Whatever. Lots of options.
59:56Okay? This is the first I'm hearing about I haven't paid yet.
60:00As if I have like a matrix and I'm like, which ones have I paid?
60:04Which ones have I not paid? Which ones have I paid?
60:08Which ones have I not paid? People send me a link.
60:11They invite me to the league. I click the link.
60:15I say, sounds great. And that's it. And I am at the disposal of the league from there.
60:20At whatever point they want to send me the link to pay, I'll pay.
60:25Whatever. And by the way, just so you know, I'm not paying for these orphans.
60:29Right? This is a startup, so I'm happy to pay for a startup.
60:34And this is great content. But I'm not paying for an orphan in year one.
60:38And no one, and I repeat, no one should ever, ever, ever pay in year one for an orphan.
60:44The league needs to pay you. At least give you a free ride in year one in order to go through the
60:51process of trying to revive an orphan that they, the league, allowed to happen.
60:56Right? So, but I am pleased to hear that all these people in our league are actually in the chat live.
61:02They're fans of the show. That's cool. It's cool to know.
61:06And unpause it. Stop being lame and unpause the draft so that we can make picks on the show.
61:12Stop being weird. Weird territorial. Right? At round 10, pick 11.
61:15That's when we've had enough. That's when we've got to stop it.
61:19We've got to stop this right now. We can't let another pick happen until this guy is paid.
61:25I don't know who let him start without paying, but God damn it, I've had enough.
61:30The first 10 picks were so painful. I'm not going to let an 11th pick roll off with this guy until he
61:37pays the whatever fee it is that I'm happy to pay.
61:40Shout out to his username, though. I mean, at Chode Jeans.
61:44About the only thing going for this guy. What is Chode Jeans?
61:47Just like I don't know how to pay in this league, I also don't know what Chode Jeans are.
61:53What are they? Does me saying Chode Jeans funny?
61:56I don't know. I just think it's a good assault.
61:59I mean, this guy's just owning up to having, you know, underwhelming trousers.
62:04This is for everybody. You want to invite me to your league?
62:07I don't know if you're ready, though, because I've already we've already completely gone public and exposed a chat message that I sent to an entire league.
62:16That was many, many sentences and where I called my league mates kitty cats.
62:20So if you're ready for that level of talk, then OK, you need to email.
62:25That's the only way that I'm going to pay is if you email me the link.
62:30And this is also the only way that I will join your league.
62:34So the same way I join the league is the same way I pay, which is you got to email me.
62:41I'm a 47 year old boomer. And there are just some types of business that I only do via email.
62:47And I have no idea what other ways you're trying to get a hold of me on WhatsApp or whatever.
62:54People are saying, hey, it's in the WhatsApp. I'm not on WhatsApp.
62:57I understand your league is on WhatsApp. I'm not on WhatsApp.
63:01Your league is a discord. That's fine. I'm not in it.
63:04So podfather at roto underworld dot com. That email works every time.
63:08I will join your league. I will take over an orphan as long as I don't have to pay in year one.
63:15And it hasn't been ravaged of picks pretty much.
63:18Other than that, I'll take it over. And also startups, ideally super flex.
63:22And then now I'm sort of pre-programmed at this point to be tight end premium.
63:27So if it's super flex tight end premium, you know, I have a sort of an unending appetite, a thirst for startups, baby.
63:34Can't be quenched. And so Parker Washington at the 805 is in the books.
63:38And Eli Stowers, there he goes. The pick is in.
63:42Pick is in. Eli Stowers. Great job. I knew it.
63:45We knew it. We broke it down. Can we just give a shout out to the coach here?
63:50He really, he broke that down. Guessed what the pick would be.
63:54And you were right. Oh, it feels great when you're finger on the pulse and, you know, you have players for players.
64:01You have moves for moves. So had you gone Stowers, there would have been some other pocket we go.
64:07And who knows? Maybe Cody would have taken Parker Washington.
64:10We won't know. That'll be a secret that he can keep.
64:14But we have him nailed on some Eli Stowers.
64:17And Cody, one question on that build. With you having Junkins and Casey Concepcion, I know you start off with Nix and
64:24Josh Allen, of course, at the 101. Are you tempted?
64:27We let off the show. Shador Sanders, Deshaun Watson.
64:30Is there any other territory? Because you got this big gap.
64:33Are you going to be tempted to throw in a little bit of stackage with Shador Sanders and or Deshaun Watson?
64:40If we are talking, you know, round 22, 23, 24, potentially, you know, there's going to be a doorway there for me to kick in.
64:48But I'll be honest with you, the Concepcion edition, whom we've talked on multiple shows about Concepcion before and in person draft.
64:55I love Concepcion. But the only reason that I made that pick this morning and I didn't trade that pick as well,
65:02which I was trying to just get out of that turn.
65:05I don't really love a lot around here is because of the Adunze stuff that came out earlier this week.
65:11And I felt really good about Ibuka, Adunze, Harrison as my three guys.
65:15And I was just going to be done with wide receiver.
65:19And then the Adunze stuff came out and I said, you know what?
65:23Let me use a little bit more ammo at the wide receiver position here and I'll be good there.
65:29They really didn't have anything to do with each other.
65:32I'll be honest with you. But I mean, again, going back to that quarterback competition in Cleveland, I wouldn't be against taking one of them.
65:40Hell, I wouldn't be against taking both of them if the value was right.
65:45And it was, we're talking literally like in the 20s for rounds where these guys would be at for me.
65:51Cho Jeans is really chatting up a storm. I scrolled through it.
65:55We've had more engagement than we've ever had in the history of the show just because of Cho Jeans just continuing to,
66:02he's just one of these like spamming us. He'll spam our show.
66:05We can't even get to chat messages that are actually relevant because of Cho Jeans, but he won't unpause the draft.
66:12And I think we've actually figured it out. This was not arbitrary.
66:16I apologize. I take this back. Everybody mistake when mistakes are made.
66:20We, we, we, we are held accountable here. Okay.
66:22This was not random. This was not arbitrary. These motherfuckers paused the draft.
66:27As soon as I went, Adam Stafford, they didn't make, they made it so I couldn't make another pick.
66:33That's how frustrated and, and owned this league was how scared they're running scared.
66:37This league is running scared. As soon as I went, Adam Stafford, they knew, oh wait, all of our money is flowing towards this guy.
66:45Oh wait, he hasn't paid yet. Oh, we can stop.
66:48We got to block him now. That's why that's, it's not when it was Mendoza and it was Tate, they didn't care, right?
66:55They didn't care. But as soon as it's Stafford and Adams and all their money's at risk because they know I'm winning.
67:02Now, all of a sudden we can't let them make another pick.
67:06You got, you guys agree. They're scared. Some, some, some, some people are saying that you did this to yourself by drafting so well.
67:14Some people. This is a word of caution, a cautionary tale, if you will, for anyone out there, there's drafting in fantasy
67:21football is, Hey man, like they, they, if you draft too well, they will come at you.
67:26They will find you. They will stalk you in your live stream.
67:30They will, they won't email you. They'll stop short of it, but they'll come after you in other ways.
67:36They'll find ways. These guys, they're so bad. Oh my God.
67:39Yes. Hey, I'm not sorry guys. This is, this, this is a great team and there's nothing you can do about it.
67:46I would have thought after Tyler shock that that's when they would want to shut it down, man.
67:52That, that would be, you know, you talk about what's the tipping point.
67:56I would think shock would, would really do it.
67:59So then they opened up more punishment with our thumbnail.
68:02Beautifully done Adams and Matthew Stafford, who still, if you want to put that out there, offer up a 27 first people.
68:09Cho jeans now accounts for three of the last four messages.
68:12None of them even matter except this one. I like this one.
68:16He actually said, love you guys, which I don't think is a genuine remark.
68:21I think he's being sarcastic. But anyway, it, it, I would hope that all of you out there could experience what I'm
68:28experiencing in this startup where you have 11 other managers running scared and feverishly trying to take a decisive evasive action against
68:35how great of a super team you're building. Like the, I, I wish that on everyone that's out there in this audience.
68:42It's such a great feeling. Here's another one. Here's another startup.
68:45There's more where that came from. This one just began.
68:48And here's one where I'm on the clock. And I started off with a, with a panic pick.
68:54This is probably my first panic pick of these four startups.
68:57Cody again, with an early pick. He went Carnell.
69:00No, he went, sorry. I'm getting there. I'm sorry.
69:03Everyone will know why I said the word Carnell right there, because it's on my brain.
69:08I can't look past it. I'm so mad. Cody started with Kayla Williams at the 102, which was aggressive.
69:14So when Alan Williams made Daniels Burrow. So just like it's, it's this particular draft.
69:19There, there's a reason why people are going heavy on the quarterback.
69:23Uh, so that's the, uh, it's just the, the scoring is set that it's, it's, it's half PPR.
69:28So in half PPR super flex, the quarterbacks just relative to the production of other positions.
69:33It's just, it, they'd be just that much more of a, of a premium on these particular picks.
69:39And for that reason, I took Herbert at the one 10, right?
69:43But it is tight end super premium. So I was able to get Bowers at the two Oh three.
69:49That was my favorite pick so far was Bowers at, at the, at the two Oh three.
69:54I figured he would be gone. I was deciding between Herbert and Bowers.
69:58And isn't it a great feeling when you get both?
70:02Never been there, never done it. But I think that that's, you know, I, I debated, I debated going Warren and Loveland,
70:08but in the super flex side of the conversation, I took a Mahomes a little bit earlier than I preferred.
70:15I kind of was in a spot where I wasn't really a fan of anybody that was real value for me.
70:21So that's why I went Warren Mahomes, but I thought about going level and double tap and tight end, but Bowers fan.
70:28And I mean, 300 targets combined this year. Spoiler alert, man.
70:32We haven't, we haven't talked about this yet. Spoiler alert.
70:35I, I, I didn't give my third round pick yet, but yes, you're right.
70:39My third round pick was Fannin and I don't love it.
70:43I like your draft. I mean, Caleb Williams, that's aggressive.
70:46I'd rather have Drake may, but you, you, you're putting your stake in the ground on, on Caleb Williams.
70:52And I kind of love it. And then Tyler Warren over Loveland.
70:56I love that too. So I love, I love the stake in the ground and not trying to trade back.
71:02I'm not trying to get cute. Just saying, this is my guy, Caleb Williams.
71:07Cause you didn't know there'd be such a huge run on quarterback either.
71:11Then to go Tyler Warren. And then yeah, Pat Mahomes was a great pick there, man.
71:16You shouldn't feel bad about that at all. That's where he should go.
71:20And given the scoring system, that was the right pick for me.
71:24I had Carnell Tate circled. And this is what I've been doing in so many of these drafts is taking Carnell Tate
71:31in the third round, but I didn't draft until the end of the third round.
71:35So I was like, okay, well, you know, Loveland's going to go and H.
71:40Han's going to go and Hertz will go. I'll definitely, yeah.
71:43Tate's mine. And I, so I only had one player queued up and it was Carnell Tate.
71:49And at the 309, the pick before me, Carnell Tate was selected.

72:38Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. Any thought of recovery here for Chris Olave after missing out on Carnell Tate?
72:45Yes. So that was the other guy. I was between Olave and Fannin, but it was tight end super premium.
72:52And then looking at the ADPs and seeing how far down the next quarterback was, seeing how far down the next running back was, wide receiver was.
73:00I know there's going to be a bunch more tight ends selected.
73:04And so wide receiver will make it back around to me.
73:07Will it be like Zay Flowers again? I hope not.
73:11I need to diversify. I need to diversify. But it very well could be.
73:15It was tough, man. I also was considering Mendoza there.
73:18And I was considering Dak Prescott there. But there was also Lawrence on the board, Nix, Purdy, in addition to Mendoza and Dak.
73:25So I was like, well, listen, I got to get a second quarterback, especially getting the relative value.
73:31And if there are four picks between me and my next pick, and I like five quarterbacks, why the hell am I going quarterback?
73:39So I said, okay, no quarterback. And I believe that there will be a displacement and there will be good receivers available
73:46in round five and six receivers that we've already talked about, like Parker Washington.
73:50And well, not Carnell, a lot of others, right?
73:53Josh Downs will be available. Maybe I can get Josh Downs.
73:56Devante Smith is an incredible value. Chris Godwin, Christian Watson.
74:00There's a lot. There's a lot of options. And you can typically get a couple guys that you want.
74:06I haven't drafted any Michael Wilson. They're comparing Michael Wilson to Pukanakua in Arizona.
74:10Didn't you love that news item? Oh, here we go.
74:13This is great. Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to play the Devante Adams role.
74:18And Michael Wilson is going to play the Pukanakua role.
74:21And I was like, thank you for that. Thank you.
74:24I was just about to draft Michael Wilson in a startup.
74:27And now you've completely screwed me. And he's going to get picked to pick ahead, just like Carnell Tate just got.
74:34I knew it because I was able to push it around with Michael Wilson.
74:38Like, okay, I think I can wait around on Michael Wilson.
74:42And now I think just because of that, just because someone was sharing an office space at one point, which Sean McVay
74:49now says that I can just turn my wide receivers into Rams wide receivers at any point.
74:54Like what? Okay. But that's what's happened. So now, okay.
74:57I still think that there's enough criticism of Michael Wilson's 2025 production and context around Michael Wilson's 2025 production that he will slip.
75:05So for a bunch of reasons, I'm not going to jump up here and grab Chris Olave.
75:10This is where he should go, but that doesn't necessarily mean I need to pick him here.
75:15Structurally, I've been really happy with these teams where I've been drafting three good quarterbacks and I'm happy to do it again.
75:22The question is, are we going Mendoza or are we going Dak?
75:26That's the question. Plot twist. Do you have any appetite for skipping the quarterback position here and ending up with somebody later
75:33like a Daniel Jones, Bryce Young, another Matthew Stafford, and you fill in your team from here?
75:39Chuck. Yes. Should have led off with that. Part of my thinking is I've had the same build over and over again.
75:45I've been drafting from the 10th pick several times now.
75:49And it's the same players over and over and over again.
75:52Bowers again. Fernando Mendoza. Dak Prescott. Patrick Mahomes. Same guys over and over again.
75:57Just fall into my lap. Do I just do it again?
76:00This would be four out of four startups where I have Dak Prescott.
76:04Well, why don't you go Chris Olave here? And then you could come away with Chuck and then you'd have a stack.
76:11If I go Mendoza, though, I do have a Bowers-Mendoza stack.
76:15And it does set me up incredibly well where I have to say that I was really enjoying playing for 2027 and then I sort of ruined it.
76:23By dominating too much in that other draft where we have the kitty cats and the cry babies.
76:29That's really the name of that. That league is the kitty cats and the cry babies.
76:34That's really what that's the name of it. We should I'm going to rename it.
76:39Can you rename it? Sleeper lets you rename stuff.
76:42But yeah, the fan and pick was very much a panic pick.
76:46And now that now I'm in on it and I'm all in on leveraging the scoring system with tight ends.
76:52I'm going to put them in flex. It's going to be great.
76:56This league here's here's another question I think is important.
76:59Do you start two or three? You start three.
77:02It's three wide receivers. This is also best ball.
77:04Oh, boy. That's that's the other that's the other twist in there.
77:08Oh, boy. Yeah. So best ball with Bowers and Mendoza is kind of great.
77:13But best ball is also really great for a guy like Chris Olave, who is the quintessential best ball receiver.
77:19You have no receivers. Oh, my God. Wow. Wow, man.
77:22This is such a plot twist. OK, so for exposure reasons, for lots of reasons, we're not doing Dak.
77:28OK, Dak's not happening. I can't I can't go four for four Dak.
77:32I mean, that would be fun, but I can't do it.
77:36Chris Olave is going to be 26 when the season starts.
77:39So we get his age 26, 27, 28 season.
77:42They love him. He's primed for a career year.
77:45He was number one last year in air yards with Spencer Rattler under center for half the season.
77:51Still had 100 catches. And that 11.6 yards per reception is going up by, let's say, two yards per reception.
77:57You could easily see him posting 13.6 yards per reception and turning a lot of these unrealized air yards into realized air yards.
78:04I don't think I have enough Olave. In fact, I have sort of sidestepped Olave in a bunch of these.
78:11And I think that there will be opportunity with Olave to stack him with Shuck.
78:15And so maybe what we do here is we fade Mendoza and Prescott, go Olave hoping for Shuck on the way back.
78:22And you're guaranteed to not have Olave when you come back.
78:26There's an opportunity for those other quarterbacks that you mentioned to maybe fall back.
78:30Plus Shuck in there, too. I don't think so.
78:33But I mean, Shuck would be the one that could fall.
78:36This isn't the league. I know we had an argument in one of the chats that you did jump in.
78:43There was something about the running backs. This wasn't the league that was like a point for first downs or something, is it?
78:50Yes, there is one league that has very dumb rules.
78:53This league will remain nameless because I don't even remember what league it is.
78:58But there is a league where there's only a point for a rushing first down, but not for receiving first downs.
79:04There you go. That's what it was. It's actually one of the more difficult things to factor in.
79:10It makes it incredibly difficult just to make any decision about a player.
79:14That's why I hate the rule so much. You want to do first downs, add first downs.
79:19We can all factor in first downs. You just want to do rushing first downs.
79:24Now I've got to do like a relative value equation in my head that no systems can do.
79:30So it's like it was very frustrating when I saw that.
79:33I was like, oh, great. Thanks, guys. As if my job wasn't hard enough juggling all these leagues and startups.
79:40As if my job is hard, by the way.
79:43Yeah, it must be nice, Podfather. You get to be in all these startups and you can talk about it.
79:49Great. Tough job. I get it. But it isn't easy to just know at a glance who you're picking like you can
79:56in a lot of other leagues when there's this wacky rule.
79:59Sorry for the sidetrack, but yeah, I do think that fading the Mendoza side and attacking the Olave potential shook combination in
80:06best ball is the avenue I would go. Obviously, we're not quite to the Jordan Tyson area.
80:12Some people might have him up here, but he's also like a potential option that could flow back to you next round as well.
80:19If you want to go, if you want to get super sick with that New Orleans wide receiver core, if you were
80:2610 toes down with New Orleans and shook taking a step forward, it would benefit, of course, Olave and Jordan Tyson long term.
80:33I think we're going Olave guys. Yes. I think it's very clear.
80:37Five, four, three. This is the fun thing we can do in this league because this league is actually live and they're not scared of me.
80:45We can actually draft a player live. Five, four, three, two, one.
80:49Olave. Oh, that's fun. That's fun. All right. One more league left.
80:53We are into overtime. We need to go rapid fire.
80:56I can't believe we have been live for well over an hour and only talked about three leagues and in one of them, there was a totally derailment.
81:05I wouldn't even blame myself. I mean, these guys paused the league out of pure cowardice.
81:10So don't blame me for that. But yeah, we're well into it now.
81:14Last league. Here we go. This is a fun one with Cody Carpentier.
81:18This was the league that was tight end super premium, whereas tight ends were two points per reception wide receivers and others.
81:25Just one point per reception at the one Oh four pod father selected Brock Bowers.
81:30Of course, Cody at the one Oh eight took Caleb Williams.
81:33He double tapped quarterback Williams and Burrow. Beautiful. I double tapped tight end Bowers and Tyler Warren at the two Oh nine.
81:40He shouldn't have been there. Loveland went to two Oh two.
81:44Warren should have been gone. So I started Bowers Warren and then my homes, Mendoza, Prescott.
81:49Again, same, same quarterbacks. We keep talking about over and over and over getting the third round, fourth round my homes, Mendoza, Prescott.
81:56This was like, I got all three in this particular league.
82:00So it was five rounds before I even consider drafting a wide receiver or a running back.
82:05And then in the six Oh four, I took flowers.
82:08And again, because it's tight end super premium at the seven Oh nine, I had to take Gadsden.
82:14He just fell to me and I have a flex position I can put him in.
82:19So why not? Cody, he went Caleb Williams, Joe Burrow, a Buka.
82:23Then he traded out of some picks, ended up with a Dunze again, Brian Thomas again, and great pick of Travis HN
82:30ETN at the seven Oh five for Cody. Cody, I'm sorry about this whole of Dunze foot will never be the same.
82:37This has got to be frustrating. Yeah, it's, it's frustrating.
82:40I also got Marv there at the five 10.
82:43Man, I made some, I made some get outs at some points in this actually made a move up.
82:49I would think from the four away to four Oh five to get a Dunze.
82:53Then Tyson Pickens were the next two picks. So I don't know if I would have got him or not.
83:00If I would have stayed Pat hindsight, obviously I don't move up to get him and I potentially just take a lava right there and I'm good.
83:08But yeah, Williams, Burrow, a Buka who I've got on majority of these teams at Dunze, who I think I've got on three startups, Harrison, Brian Thomas.
83:17And then I did go after I read the rules in round six, uh, that this was the league that is half point per rushing first down.
83:25I did go and, uh, say might as well grab my first running back and take Travis H and down there in new Orleans.
83:33Yeah, I, I am not leveraging that rule. I basically have said that rule is more of a red herring in my analysis.
83:40And so I've decided to let others take the Derek Henry's and, uh, I'm going to, I'm going Gadsden, uh, just to
83:47take advantage of the, the, the tight end premium, but also seize the steering wheel.
83:52So I have three tight ends and three quarterbacks and only one receiver and no running backs.
83:57So I am dictating the terms of the league.
84:00There was a, a big run of Stroud, Willis, Mayfield and Darnold all in one round after I took, after I took Prescott.
84:07So I'm, I'm, I was hopeful that me taking Gadsden would create a similar game theory effect.
84:13It did not. So last four picks, none have been tight ends.
84:17So then the question is, do I go back to tight end again with Stowers?
84:21Because I could really seize the steering wheel. One of these guys wouldn't be playable because there's two flex positions.
84:28There's not three. So one of the tight ends would be a bench tight end.
84:32Just like one of my quarterbacks is a bench quarterback.
84:36I mean, we're not here to draft based on need.
84:39We're here to draft based on best player available.
84:42If the, if the player that's going to net you more picks in the future, allow you to build more value, if
84:49that player's top of your board, then you're doing it right.
84:52It doesn't matter whether you have an active startable lineup in round eight of a startup, instead of trying to fill out
84:59your roster, try just getting the best players at the best values.
85:03That's the move always, unless you're, unless your league is banned trading.
85:07So I think what's going to happen here is your running back room.
85:11You can commit to the bit and get the advantage at the tight end because you're kind of doing what you did
85:18with the quarterback position in your other startups at the tight end position.
85:22Good, fair, fine, well, and you're still doing it at the quarterback position.
85:26What you have to acknowledge for whatever the points per first down, your running back room is going to look like an
85:33amalgamation of Jonathan Brooks, Rico Dowdle, Blake Corrums, Jonah Coleman's, which I'm fair and fine and good with you doing that because
85:40you're committing to your allocation at the tight end position where you're trying to get the advantage.
85:45So if you're comfortable in that sitting in that with those types of running backs and hoping you hit a little, I
85:52mean, really this, if this isn't zero running back, what is?
85:56I want to go one zero running back team.
85:58I need a zero running back team. This is what I want to do.
86:03I want to go zero running back and I want, I want to do like a, an onslaught, a tight end and QB onslaught team.
86:11The best running backs available are Josh Jacobs, RJ Harvey, Basial Tootin, Deandre Swift, Kyle Monaguy, stick my head in the toilet and flush it.
86:19No, not going to do it. Not going to do it, man.
86:22I'm between Christian Watson, the newly signed Christian Watson.
86:25If he makes it to me in two picks or Eli Stowers, I think that it would be absolutely hilarious for me to grab Stowers here.
86:33Sadiq went at the 612. Sadiq is going two rounds before Stowers.
86:37He's so buried in the sleeper ADPs that there's incredible value on Stowers just based on the default ADP has not yet corrected on him for whatever reason.
86:46I even posted about this on dynasty Reddit. I was asking, why is this?
86:51Like, well, the sleeper ADP hasn't corrected yet. When is it going to correct?
86:55Is Stowers always going to be like, we scroll and scroll.
86:58He's got the keyword search. If that's the case, that has a psychological effect on drafters.
87:03They will not draft that guy because they think they might be able to push it one more round.
87:09That happens all the time. So just because the ADP is widely known to be outdated doesn't mean everyone's just going to
87:16be optimizing their draft based on projections and lifetime values.
87:20No, the suppressed ADP has a psychological effect. It's what might lead me to even pushing Stowers, see if I can get him in round nine.
87:28I just don't think that's going to happen. Are you worried at all if you go Stowers here to now at the
87:35point you'll have one wide receiver and a three wide receiver start situation?
87:39And two of these players you drafted in the first eight rounds will be bench players week in and week out guaranteed.
87:46Like, I think it's totally fine to obviously start Bowers, Warren, Gadsden, use those guys in your flex.
87:52But to have a Stowers here, and I get the, again, I understand the futuristic projection stuff.
87:57And I'm not trying to convince you to do this because I pick 10 picks.
88:02I'm not taking Stowers with this particular build. That's, I'll tell you that right now, I don't really care.
88:08But from a building the roster perspective, if you pass on receiver, you have just Flowers in a three wide receiver start situation and two bench spots used.
88:17Is that easy for you to bypass in your head as a team builder?
88:21Or? I always know that Josh Downs is waiting for me, right?
88:25I always know that Jalen Coker is waiting for me until this most recent draft happened.
88:30The first draft we talked about, the most recent one that I, that, that, that we've made it to round 10 and
88:37beyond where you actually get it, get a look and see what the demand for these wide receivers actually is in real life.
88:44Cause it's not necessarily aligned with KTC or anywhere.
88:47You got to find out for yourself and you saw what happened in round 10.
88:52Boom, boom, boom. No, it was round 11 because then they paused it when I was about to make my pick.
88:58I made 10 picks. I couldn't make the 11th picks.
89:01It was in the 11th round. It went Downs, Coker, Jaden Reed.
89:05And these are guys I'm relying on getting. And if they're just going to go rat-a-tat-tat, then I'm in trouble.
89:12And this is a start three receivers. So based on the fact that it is start three receivers, not start two receivers,
89:18that is the difference that I think is going to force me to go wide receiver here.
89:24And there's Jamison Williams. There's Casey Concepcion. There's Alec Pierce, Michael Wilson.
89:28And Christian Watson, based on the contract, the upside, the explosiveness, the role as essentially the wide receiver one in that offense.
89:35I'm still leaning Watson among those players, those options.
89:37Do you agree? Jamison Williams. This is a perfect format for him.
89:41Best ball. So I would contend other than Christian Watson, Jamison Williams definitely stands out.
89:46I love Casey Concepcion. So you'll never get me to argue against that.
89:50Jamison Williams, whether it's six points or a 30 burger, you don't have to worry about it.
89:55He's a great leverage player in this format. I might actually do that.
90:00I don't ever draft Jamison Williams, but this might be the team to do it.
90:04If there was ever a team to do it and a place to do it, it would be right here.
90:11Jamison Williams in best ball, dynasty best ball at the 804.
90:14This isn't the best ball league. That was the other one.
90:18God damn it. Oh, fuck Christ. All right. Anyway.
90:20Anyway. Oh God. All right. Let's see. All right.
90:23It's not, it's not best ball, but if it was, if it was Jamison Williams would even be available.
90:29Yeah. That's, that's, that's the whole, that's the whole trick of it.
90:33So do you guys agree though? Christian Watson and Jamison Williams.
90:37That's just two picks to go. The odds that both those guys get picked back to back be difficult to get your head around.
90:44So is that, is that where you would go?
90:47Yes. Or Concepcion because Concepcion's out there. Yeah. Concepcion would be, would be the other one that would kind of entertain me.
90:54I think the consensus, you know, right now has DJ Moore, some of these older guys, DJ Moore, McLaurin, I think are
91:01debatable for this type of a role in your roster.
91:04And if you're trying to win today, but again, you're, you're talking about guys that are age 29, age 31.
91:10Like that's a, that's a, I think it's a little bit of a tougher sell for me when I can get a Concepcion who's 21 and a half.
91:19Even Jamison Williams, who's obviously the number two cemented in Detroit in that situation.
91:24Christian Watson. Listen, I've, I've been a big Christian Watson fan for a long time, but I'm not sure the contract quite meets the play at this point.
91:32Our guy, Ahan Runcta is out there saying that the contract wasn't quite enough for Christian Watson.
91:38The truth of all truth is for him. But yes, I do think right here, I'd be looking at Watson.
91:44I'd be looking at Concepcion and then I'd be looking at Jamison for sure.
91:49Yeah. This is a young team. And when you draft my homes and Mendoza, even if you draft Dak as well, you're
91:56saying I'm looking more at 2027 than 2026. That's just what you're saying.
92:00This really is a team that's built for 2027.
92:03And who's going to get a massive quarterback upgrade in 2027.
92:06Casey Concepcion. This Casey Concepcion. I think I'm moving Concepcion to the top guys.
92:10I think that's the direction I really want to go.
92:14Do you love it or hate it? Cody, do you love it or hate it?
92:18I love it. I like it. I love it.
92:21Cody, do you love it or hate it? I love it.
92:25I like it. I love it. Oh, yes. This was third round reversal.
92:29Thank you, Cody. We got him. We got him.
92:32We got Parker. We got him. He's going to sign a contract any day now.
92:36Does me saying Cho Jean's funny? I just think it's a good assault.
92:40I mean, this guy's just owning up to having underwhelming trousers.
92:44We've already gone public and exposed a chat message that I sent to an entire league.
92:49That was many, many sentences. And where I called my league mates kitty cats.
92:53I would have thought after Tyler shocked that that's when they would want to shut it down, man.
92:59That would be, you know, you talk about what's the tipping point.
93:03I would think shock would really do it. This isn't the best ball league.
93:07That was the other one. God damn it. Oh, fuck Christ.
93:11All right. Anyway. Anyway. Oh, God. Oh, God. All right.
93:14Let's see. Your mic just died. Your mic died just in time, coach, to love it.
93:19And Cody, do you love it or hate it?
93:22I love it. I like it. I love it.
93:25But as soon as it's Stafford and Adams and all their money's at risk because they know I'm winning now, all of
93:32a sudden we can't let him make another pick.
93:34Hey, sweetie, your mother showed me this Carvana thing for selling the car.
93:39I'm going to give it a try. Wish me luck.
93:42Me again. I put in the license plate. It gave me an offer.
93:46Unbelievable. Okay. I accepted the offer. They're picking it up Tuesday from the driveway.
93:50I haven't even left my chair. It's done. The car is gone.
93:54I'm holding a check. Anyway, Carvana. Give it a whirl.
93:57Love ya. So good, you'll want to leave a voicemail about it.
94:01Sell your car today on Carvana. Pickup fees may apply.
94:04Most people don't realize how much their personal information is being bought and sold every day.
94:09Data brokers are making billions, pulling details about you from public records and the internet, and then packaging and selling it, usually without your consent.
94:17That's how your information lands in the hands of scammers, spammers, even stalkers.
94:21It's why you get endless robocalls and why ads seem to follow you everywhere.
94:26That's where Aura comes in. Aura actively removes your data from broker sites and keeps it off.
94:31They also instantly alert you if your information shows up in a breach or on the dark web.
94:37But Aura goes beyond data protection. With one app, you get a VPN, antivirus, password manager, spam call protection, dark web monitoring,
94:44and even up to $5 million in identity theft insurance, all backed by 24-7 U.S.-based fraud support.
94:49Other companies might sell just credit monitoring or just a VPN.
94:53Aura gives you all of it, together, at the same price competitors charge for just one service.
