Bo Nix

PositiveProjection0:14

Bo Nix theoretically should be ready for week one but more information is needed before making a definitive assessment.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveValue0:19

Dallas Goedert's ranking is very low and represents good value given his strong production last season, though there is some concern about Eli Stowers eventually working into the rotation.

Insight page

Darius Slayton

NegativeProjection0:14

Darius Slayton is proven to be unreliable from a fantasy perspective and should be deprioritized in favor of developing young talent like Malachi Fields.

Insight page

Darnell Mooney

NegativeProjection0:13

Darnell Mooney had an underwhelming season last year, playing through injuries and dealing with quarterback issues, making him a questionable fantasy option.

Insight page

Devin Singletary

PositiveRole0:04

Devin Singletary is a well-rounded three-down back who can pass catch and block, but will serve as a supplemental option alongside Cam Skaggs rather than the primary back.

Insight page

Eli Stowers

PositiveRole0:19

Eli Stowers is showing limited participation in training camp, but it may take time for him to work into the rotation similar to how Colson Loveland took time to develop.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveValue0:45

He is being drafted around the same range as Ja'Cory Crosky Merritt, in the mid-tier quarterback and high-end tight end area.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveRole0:13

Isaiah Likely could be the most productive fantasy asset at the beginning of the season as a pass catcher for the Giants given the uncertainty at wide receiver and that Matt Nagy is not a negative for tight ends.

Insight page

Jacory Croskey-Merritt

PositiveValue0:45

He is being drafted around mid-tier quarterback options, high-end tight end two area players like Dallas Goddard and Isaiah Likley, and backup running back committee territory.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

PositiveValue0:45

He is being drafted in the hail Mary running back territory, similar to Tracy, in backup running back committee range.

Insight page

JuJu Smith-Schuster

NegativeProjection0:15

JuJu Smith-Schuster looks cooked and the Giants' receiver acquisitions are questionable moves.

Insight page

Kaytron Allen

PositiveRole0:43

He is a similar short-yardage player to Bill and could potentially be pushed in the backfield, creating committee concerns.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveRole0:44

He did not catch many passes in college (around two) but now catches plenty, demonstrating that college receiving production is not predictive of NFL receiving role.

Insight page

Malachi Fields

NegativeProjection0:14

Malachi Fields is not loved as a prospect from a fantasy perspective due to concerns about contested catch ability translating to the NFL without elite speed.

Insight page

Odell Beckham

NegativeProjection0:15

Odell Beckham Jr. is not back to form despite recent highlight videos; the Giants' receiver moves are questionable coaching decisions.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

PositiveInjury0:14

Patrick Mahomes is at OTAs and theoretically should be ready for week one.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveProjection0:15

Stefon Diggs would have been a better acquisition than the Giants' current receiver moves; he came off an ACL and played a full season, and before his injury in Houston was performing at a fine level with 100 targets last season.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup0:47

Washington is a logical landing spot for him given their salary cap and his DMV roots, and he would get a lot of targets there.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:47

He has moved past drama concerns and is no longer a toxic teammate risk, having accepted his career stage.

Insight page

Tyrone Tracy

PositiveRole0:03

Tyrone Tracy Jr. is not an ideal handcuff or late-round target because he would not see the vast majority of the workload even if Cam Skaggs is ramped up slowly, and he is not a three-down back that would step into a significant workload.

0:25That's noblegoldinvestments.com. What's up everyone? Welcome into the Dear Ms Fantasy Show with me, your host Tara Roberts.
0:31This is the official mailbag show for PlayerProfiler. It is Wednesday, June 10th.
0:35I'm live taking your questions. We've got another NBA game this week conflicting here.
0:40So we will keep it about 30 minutes or so.
0:43I will stop it at tip off so we don't have to conflict.
0:4735. We now got time for the national anthem and whatnot.
0:51So whenever it starts, we will end here. But in the meantime, I'm taking your questions live and we've got a lot
0:58of topics to cover to be honest here. No, well, there was.
1:01We've been having arrest news every single week. And while we did get arrest news, it was thankfully not from any of the fantasy players.
1:09So good Lord. I just wish that people could like, I don't know, stay out of trouble and not get arrested.
1:16Offensive linemen and such now, but we're good. We did get an offensive lineman retire.
1:21We'll talk about that here. We've got injury stuff to recover.
1:24We're going to look at players. I got some mailbag questions.
1:28So we are going to go ahead and dive in here.
1:31All right. I'm going to start us off here.
1:34I'm going to start us off with news, but also mailbag as well here.
1:39We're going to talk about Cam Scadaboo, who news wise did actually show up and is participating in OTAs now.
1:45A little mini camp action there, which is fantastic.
1:48I removed my banner so you guys can see Cam's lovely face there since it is an upside down picture as he likes to flip.
1:56But yeah, let's talk about it here because it was looking a little sketchy there for a second in terms of recovery.
2:03And I know in terms of injuries, people get very scared when it comes to ankles because those are not honestly not often as straightforward as an ACL.
2:12You know, you feel a little bit more comfortable knowing what is coming from an ACL.
2:17And sometimes, you know, the ankles going sideways and such can make you a little nervous, but he's out there.
2:24Now, again, he's not out there with pads and whatnot, but seeing him in drills is the key.
2:29We talked about this last week when talking about guys like Quinshon Judkins being on the field, active, running drills, cutting and whatnot.
2:37That's the key there, right? Because we're not expecting, you know, they're not in full pads, right?
2:42But it gives us a good indication of how comfortable they are with their body and movement right now.
2:48And it's a pretty good indicator if they're participating in early June in OTAs.
2:53Pretty good indicator that, you know, they're going to be on track to be ready for the beginning of the season.
2:59So that is fantastic because Cam was the one that I was kind of looking at.
3:05I was feeling very good about Quenshon. Cam was the one that I was looking at.
3:10And I was just a little bit nervous, right?
3:13Because at the end of the day, it's just a lot going on there.
3:17We do have change in regime there. New offensive coordinator, who you guys know that I can't stand, in Matt Nagy.
3:24But he's not necessarily a terrorist for running backs in particular.
3:27So we should more than likely, philosophically, see this team try to lean on the ground game.
3:33So question here, how is Cam Skadaboo not a fade?
3:36Rough ankle injury. Doesn't make sense that he'll be himself this year.
3:40Tracy is the better late round target. You know, I would not say that I have, I don't have beef with Tyrone
3:47Tracy Jr., but I do have a very definitive stance on Tyrone Tracy Jr.
3:51Now, I do think it makes sense that if we're talking about, like, who will serve as a supplemental change of pace-ish
3:58back alongside Cam Skadaboo, Tracy would be the guy, right?
4:01We know Devin Singletary is a well-rounded back. He can be a three-down back.
4:06He pass catches fine. Not an issue. He blocks fine.
4:09No problems there. But when it comes down to those two, we do know that more than likely it'll lean a little
4:16bit towards Tracy being the one that would play off of Cam Skadaboo.
4:20But it is important to note that we did see plenty of them together last season while Skadaboo was healthy.
4:27And Skadaboo flat out took that job. And the more concerning part of that and why I'm not really in on Tyrone
4:34Tracy as the better late round target, because I would never feel comfortable with him on a weekly basis rolling him out alongside Skadaboo.
4:41Because even if you do think that he will be less efficient coming off of the injury, take a little bit more
4:48time, a few months or so, until he's up to 100% of himself, Tracy would never see the vast majority of the workload.
4:56And the problem also is that he's not an ideal handcuff, right?
5:00If I'm looking for a handcuff, I want a guy like a Tyler Algier.
5:04That's a handcuff, right? I would want a Tank Bigsby.
5:07That's a handcuff, right? Guys that I know for sure would step into three-down logical work, right?
5:13Tyrone Tracy is not a handcuff in that traditional sense, because as we saw last year when Cam Skadaboo went down, you
5:20could technically not rely on Tyrone Tracy on a weekly basis to have the bulk of the carries over Devin Singletary.
5:27He was still a very critical part of the offense.
5:30There were multiple weeks where Devin Singletary just flat out outperformed Tyrone Tracy, especially with the additional usage in terms of him
5:37having the goal line preference as well. So if you're not going to be involved enough, because it's not going to be
5:44realistically, we're not going to get Cam Skadaboo Tyrone Tracy doing your committee, right?
5:48Even if he is slowly ramped up, it's not going to be enough valuable work that we would feel super comfortable with it.
5:56And then you know that he is not a three-down back that is going to come into a massive workload, right?
6:02It's still going to be low-end RB2 territory. Is that really the upside that you're trying to shoot for, right?
6:09Versus saying, I want a Bryan Robinson that would go into a significant workload if Bijan were to go down, right?
6:15So, no, Tracy is not particularly a target for me in any way, shape, or form.
6:21I feel comfortable with Cam Skadaboo and his ADP.
6:23And again, it's very good that we see him out there on the field running drills right now.
6:29That is very critical. And we saw this man just flat out beat out Tyrone Tracy.
6:34And more importantly, again, what I was trying to get to before, before I got a little bit sidetracked on Singletary and
6:41Tyrone Tracy, Cam Skadaboo didn't just take early down work.
6:45Cam Skadaboo took receptions. He was a three-down back.
6:47And he was productive with said receptions that he took.
6:51And that is critical because, obviously, Tracy is a natural receiver there.
6:54So, no, perhaps we're looking at we get to week one, and the Giants don't want to overload right away.
7:01And they've got him out there 50% of snaps or so when they're using Tracy and Singletary as supplements, you know, just
7:08to do a little bit of a ramp up there.
7:11But, overall, once we get into the bulk of the season, if Cam Skadaboo is healthy and on the field, he will be the workhorse running back.
7:20So, yeah. And an ADP here that is hovering around just a little bit over RB20.
7:25Let me see if I have my rankings up.
7:28Not my rankings, just consensus rankings that we can look at real quick.
7:32Because I want to say it's RB20-ish, but I want to get the exact number for you guys.
7:38And maybe it has shifted, too, since we did see him return.
7:41We'll see if he's moved up a little bit.
7:44Yeah, RB20, right on the dot there. And, honestly, it can't move up.
7:48I would anticipate that maybe the highest it could move up is to above a Travis Etienne because people have a lot of skepticism around Travis Etienne.
7:57But, overall, RB20 is probably the sweet spot where he is going to stay for the remainder of the time period and heading through draft season.
8:05So, it's still very good value on a guy that we know the Giants want to be run heavy.
8:12We know that, again, I don't love the offensive coordinator, but there's not a massive problem from a run game perspective.
8:18And we know that he has factually already beat out people on roster and is the RB1.
8:24So, it's not that dramatic there. Looking at the chat here, guys.
8:28I wasn't looking at the chat. Jump to the chat here from Donald Glaspy.
8:32Hey, CHIC. Chicago. Is that from, I don't know what that acronym is, but.
8:36Greetings from Yosemite. What's up? From Kevin Zad. Spurs tonight.
8:40I hope so. I hope so. I'm in Texas, guys.
8:43And I'm not a native-born Texan. And not native.
8:46Obviously not native to Houston, then, if I'm not a native Texan, logically.
8:50But I have not adapted. I've been here 15 years.
8:53I'm not going to lie. I've not adapted to being a Houston fan of anything.
8:58I'm not going to BS. And I far prefer the Spurs.
9:01So, I am pro Spurs. I really do hope they win tonight.
9:05Sorry, Houston people. I just, yeah. I've never adapted.
9:08I mean, I'll speak positively of the Texans and whatnot.
9:11Can't say that I care much for the Astros.
9:14But I have not adapted to Houston sports. I still hold my original loyalties there.
9:19Chavez Girls in the chat says, Tara is the best.
9:22Thank you. Miles Logan says, I'd be too scared to touch that Giants backfield.
9:27I hear you on that. I do. And I have come to, I was never a Cam Scadaboo truther, right?
9:33I was skeptical of him coming into the NFL and how his game would translate to the NFL.
9:39But I liked what I saw last year. I can't deny.
9:42I can't deny that I did like it. There's always the concern that, you know, maybe touchdowns are potentially limited by the
9:49amount of times that Jackson Dark calls his own number.
9:53But logically, I would hope they try and lean more now with Cam Scadaboo healthy and hopefully playing an entire year, lean
10:00more on him at the goal line to try and alleviate some of that aggressive head first running that Jackson Dark tends to do.
10:07So, and I feel in their positives to look forward to.
10:11Their offensive line is heading in a positive direction.
10:14Okay. They, you know, drafted well for the things that they needed in particular.
10:18Defense is heading in a positive direction, you know, traded away some stuff.
10:22But overall, should be competitive-ish. Not super competitive. We're pushing for a playoff.
10:26But competitive enough to where they're not abandoning the run.
10:30And again, he was involved in the pass game pretty good and was successful with it.
10:35Yards after the catch there, for sure. From C11P says, Tara, your rush shirt lettering is both ultra-timing and top-tier.
10:41Are you a rush fan? I'm not. This is actually, it is themed rush for the Scott Fish Bowl.
10:47This was maybe four years ago. T-shirt. You get a T-shirt every single year for the event.
10:53And I love wearing my T-shirts religiously. So I do think that this one was, oh yeah, because it was the music themed one.
11:00So yes, that is what it's themed after. But it is a fantasy football shirt for the Scott Fish Bowl charity tournament there.
11:08Which I am drafting in in two weeks? Two weeks?
11:11Yeah, we're closing in on it. I think I got like three weekends before I draft.
11:16So I'm going to film some stuff at the live draft and come back to you guys with that.
11:22It's going to be fun. I'm excited. And the scoring just, or the scoring got released on it a little bit ago.
11:29There's lots of fun bonuses, crazy bonuses here. I've already imagined like my perfect quarterbacks in this draft.
11:35It's super flexed. I'm very excited. So live draft in two, three-ish weeks.
11:39It's going to be fun. Linda Powell says, Scott Abu already has CTE.
11:43And I shouldn't laugh at that. But I mean, I think it's appropriate to laugh at that, right?
11:49I feel he, would he laugh at it? I don't know.
11:52Would he understand it? I don't know. Scott Abu already has CTE.
11:56He has ankle and leg injuries in the past.
11:59He will be ready to go for the upcoming season.
12:02Problem is Jackson Trump. That is a hilarious comment.
12:05Yeah, I'm with you of the two. Scott Abu is the one that I trust the most, honestly.
12:11And you're right. Technically, can concussions really come for him?
12:14I don't know. I don't know. Joking. But yeah, if he's on the field, he'll be ready to go.
12:20Trust him more. It is Jackson Dart that is the one that worries me.
12:25The ADP. Now, I will say this, because I think we talked about Malik.
12:29Did we talk about Malik Neighbors last week? I believe we did.
12:33Malik Neighbors, if we did not talk about it last week, was filmed at a charity event looking like he was hobbling very gingerly.
12:41Now, was he hobbling? Was he just kind of moving a little slow?
12:45I don't know. I don't know. But we are kind of skeptical, and it does feel like we've got more of an ambiguous timeline with him.
12:53So we're talking about Jackson Dart with potentially Malik Neighbors maybe starting on the pup, maybe being a bit delayed because he did have that second surgery there.
13:02And so the timeline is a little sketchy. And from what I'm seeing from injury analysts, it seems like the more realistic
13:09timeline would be like an October look there and perhaps some slow ramp up.
13:14So yeah, we would be talking about, again, which is also, do we talk about Isaiah Likely last week?
13:20We might have talked about Isaiah Likely, which is also why I do like Isaiah Likely a lot, because there's a possibility
13:27that Isaiah Likely, and again, Matt Nagy is not a negative for tight ends, that Isaiah Likely could be the guy that
13:34ends up being the most productive fantasy asset at the beginning of the season as a pass catcher.
13:40Um, because the competition there as the secondary and third options at wide receiver are interesting.
13:45It's Darnell Mooney, who I love, but I won't lie, last year was nasty.
13:49Um, and he was kind of playing through some injuries at some point, but really overall, and you know, quarterback issues, obviously, but it was underwhelming.
13:58And then Malachi Fields was drafted. I didn't really, I don't love him as a prospect for a high upside from a fantasy perspective.
14:05Um, and then Darius Slayton is obviously still there and we know how we all feel about Darius Slayton's upside.
14:12It's not really, um, ask any Giants fan about how they do, how they feel about Darius Slayton there.
14:18So, um, it's, it's a sketchy, sketchy situation to be looking at drafting, um, Jackson Dart.
14:23He did end up, um, dropping a little bit in ADP, but not enough to my liking.
14:28I, I can't advise taking, um, him over, uh, let me, let's look at rankings right now.
14:34Um, but off the top of my head, I can't, I mean, Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy, Patrick Mahomes, who again is at
14:41OTAs, um, theoretically should be ready for week one.
14:44We still got to see how Bo Nix is looking, but theoretically should be ready, but we'll, we'll see on him.
14:50Need more information. Matt Stafford, Jared Goff. I mean, no, I'm sorry.
14:54Not happening there. Right. Um, and then don't mean to do the chat here again, uh, from loving life.
15:00748 says, what the heck is up with Odell Juju and various moves?
15:04A sign of questionable coaching, to be honest. I don't, I don't mean to insert and like, I don't mean to insult
15:11Harbaugh, but at the end of the day, he is not in charge of the offense.
15:17So, uh, but, and I mean, that's really mad.
15:19And then you could also say that's management making that decision.
15:23And we all know how we feel about the giant GM who continues to get his, you know, extensions and whatnot, despite questionable results there.
15:31Um, but at the end of the day, yeah.
15:34Like I saw a video of a, like, you know, a bomb to Odell and everyone's like, Odell's back.
15:40No, man, I'm sorry. Like, and Juju looks cooked.
15:43Berrios is Berrios, right? Um, God, what a, what a nightmare.
15:46Right. So I'm, I'm just, I'm not feeling it there.
15:49Um, and I agree with you. Love and life.
15:52Diggs would have been the better move there. I, I, I agree.
15:56I actually had an interesting comment that I saw regarding, um, Diggs potential.
16:00And not, and this is not like a rumor or anything, but someone saying that Diggs over Brandon Ayuk would be the
16:07better move for Washington if they're looking to add a receiver.
16:11And I completely agree with that. I mean, Diggs is old, obviously.
16:15Right. But the man came off an ACL and played a full season.
16:19That is a miracle in itself. So, and before that, when he was in Houston, before the injury, he was not cooked
16:26in any way, shape or form it. He wasn't traditional Stefan Diggs, but he was performing at a very fine level.
16:33Right. Um, so yeah, I mean, he got handled a hundred targets last season.
16:37That would be the better move in my opinion by perhaps he's waiting on, I don't, I would think money's not a concern.
16:44The man's had contracts on contracts, but you know, I mean, he, he does have expenses as we see.
16:51So I would say that, um, it would have been the better move.
16:55It'll be interesting to see where Diggs lands, but, um, yeah, I think he still got a little bit more left in him.
17:02Um, yep. And leaving that as the fishbowl rush t-shirt.
17:05Um, let's see here. La, our lot, Eliza says as a giants fan, I'm loving all the giants talk.
17:11Yeah. We've like, I, we got into a nice giants float here.
17:15It's taken up the vast majority of the, um, but it's fine.
17:19Cause I mean, we've got assets on top of assets that are critical from a fantasy perspective.
17:24Right. Um, but as a giants fan, you're loving the giants talk.
17:28I know how you feel about Malachi, but I really think he's going to have an Abuka moment this season.
17:35Possibly. Um, and it's not that I didn't like, like, I just, I don't like him from my fantasy perspective.
17:41And as a, as a, didn't love him as a prospect because I like, and I'm not one to like be obsessed with speed.
17:49Right. But I do get a little bit worrisome about the guys that are heavily contested catch guys and how that can translate to the NFL.
17:57Um, because again, you're playing against the next level.
18:00Now granted they play plenty of competition in college, right?
18:03That team did, but it's the next level. Right.
18:06So I get worried about the contested catch guys, not translating like a, like a Xavier look at, right.
18:12There's just the level of translation that doesn't happen there.
18:15Keyon Coleman. Right. So if you're a contested catch guy, I want a little bit of speed there for you just to justify it.
18:23And it makes me like a little bit uncomfortable there.
18:26Like I like a, yeah, I like more of a, like my prospects were guys like I, like I would prefer a
18:33Denzel Boston to compare it to a Malachi Fields.
18:36Right. But we'll see. I mean, he's going to, the good thing for him is that he fell into perfect situation to have opportunities.
18:44Um, logically, I mean, I would prefer to get him out on the field versus a Darius Slayton.
18:49Right. Because again, you got to develop young talent instead of leaning on proven guys that are proven to be, uh, not super reliable there.
18:57Um, Michael Alvin says any word on bill? No, not really.
19:01I feel the, see the most ridiculous amounts of, um, videos of Rashad White catching passes there, but no, sadly no real
19:08hype right now, but no hype is not a bad thing.
19:12Right. No hype is not a terrible thing. So we're still holding our fingers there and there's been no major ADP movement.
19:19So he's a very good value pick there. My dog barking in my ear indicating someone is coming home.
19:25Um, very good value pick there. So that's still good.
19:28Right. Still good. Um, let's see here. Leaving says second Eagles wide receiver always disappoints.
19:33You know what? Let's go. Did I, did I have a, no, I don't, I don't think I have a mailbag on,
19:40um, no shoot, but I did want to discuss, um, Jalen Hurts and, uh, Devante Smith and Malachi Fields.
19:46And also Eli Stowers, who I saw a little note there out of training camp, um, that we had, um, yeah, let's talk about the Eagles here.
19:54Um, that we had, um, not having excellent participation from Eli Stowers, which is interesting because of the, of the level upside that Dallas Goddard had last season.
20:03Um, when we're looking at, I mean, he turned into, and he's always obviously been there from a fantasy perspective, but yeah.
20:10And leaving, I just saw your comment pop up there, um, saying that Goddard's ranking is pretty low punt on tight end value.
20:18I think so. My, my only fear with Goddard has been at what point do we see Eli Stowers shift in, but
20:25perhaps maybe we're getting a little bit too, or putting the card ahead of the horse, right?
20:30Because, um, and we've, it's not like we haven't done this before, right?
20:34Uh, the tight end when there's an incumbent doesn't always initially, um, upend, right?
20:39It takes some time. Uh, like, you know, we saw as far as crazy talented as Colson Loveland is, right?
20:45It took some time, um, and effort for him to work his way into that rotation late in the season there.
20:52And I would hate to step over really good production from Goddard.
20:56So when I'm looking at Dallas Goddard, um, I agree.
20:59The ranking is very low. What is it right now?
21:02I mean, he's right now. He is at. This episode is brought to you by troll co clothing.
21:08You know, is this one worth it? You know, more than a few people have asked me about troll co.
21:14So let me actually tell you about it. I wear their hats, their sweatshirts.
21:19I have for a while now, the quality on both is legitimately good.
21:23The hats hold their shape. The sweatshirts are the kind of heavy that you actually want, not the thin stuff that pills after three washes.
21:31I just liked them. The reason I connected with the brand in the first place is the story behind it.
21:37You know, the phrase dirty hands, clean money. It's a blue collar saying that has been around forever.
21:43It's the idea that honest, hard, physical work is how you build a good life.
21:48Troll co was started by two guys who came out of the oil patch who could not find any clothing that represented people like them.
21:56So they built it themselves. That is the kind of origin story I respect.
22:00And the product truly backs it up. If you want to check them out, go to troll co.com slash profiler.
22:07That is T R O L L C O.com slash profiler and use code profiler 25 for 25% off your first order.
22:14When you choose LG, you're not just getting a TV.
22:17You're getting more of everything you love, more entertainment, more innovation, more control.
22:21LG TVs are built to do more with OLED and QNED displays that deliver breathtaking color and contrast, smart AI powered features
22:28that make streaming, gaming, and searching effortless, and ultra slim designs that turn your screen into a statement piece.
22:34It's performance. You can see technology. You can feel and reliability.
22:38You can trust. Get more out of every moment at home with LG.
22:42Tight in 13. So he's at tight end 13.
22:45It's probably a little bit higher than I would like.
22:48I prefer to take an Isaiah likely over him.
22:51Right. But I think it's right around the appropriate area.
22:54It's late enough. Not a major issue. When we're looking at this transition to this new look Eagles receiving core, are we
23:01going to see, obviously Devante Smith has no problem catching touchdowns, right?
23:05But he's not a high, I wouldn't rely on him as a massive contested catch guy once they get into the red zone.
23:12Right. And really Makai, Makai Lemon, that's not really a major part of his game as well.
23:18So logically all of that massive touchdown increase that we did see to Dallas Goddard last season can very easily translate to
23:25continuing on this season, especially with the exit of AJ Brown there.
23:29So yeah, that's a really good one for us to look at as we're sitting here, like trying to figure out like
23:36how much do we trust Devante Smith? How high are we pushing him?
23:40Do we trust Makai Lemon to make an impact right off the bat?
23:44I mean, yeah, he's going to be the wide receiver too that gets on the field, right?
23:49It's just a matter of how productive he can be, how successful he can be and how much volume we are actually getting pushed through the air.
23:58Or are they tilting back aggressively towards Saquon Barkley, which is what I think is going to happen.
24:04I'm in for a massive Saquon Barkley bounce back season because last year was a little bit still good volume, right?
24:11But it was a lot lower than should have been.
24:14So that one I think is very, very interesting.
24:17Jumping to the chat here, as we're on the subject, let me bring those up.
24:21Famous J says Goddard or Andrews. I would go Goddard.
24:25Yeah, because it's weird because obviously with Andrews, we know and I expected them to make a more significant addition or a significant addition at tight end.
24:33To leave Andrews bare there was a little bit weird because I do feel like he is on the downturn there in terms of overall production.
24:42But when I'm looking at him versus the upside of Dallas Goddard, Goddard at the very least, while he is an injury risk and so is Andrews, right?
24:51But Goddard at the very least, I know that when he is on the field, he's not cooked at this point.
24:57We're still going to get pretty significant production out of him as long as he is on the field operating as a tight end one.
25:05I can't say the same thing about Andrews. And where the exit of A.J.
25:10Brown in the addition of Makai Lemon kind of balances out and probably leaves a little bit more on the table for
25:17Dallas Goddard in terms of opportunities getting an uptick there.
25:20I can't and, you know, they've added Hollywood Brown and Dontavian Wicks.
25:24Those are not really threats, right? But at the end of the day, when I'm looking at Mark Andrews and the additions
25:31there, I actually like the additions that the Ravens made a lot at wide receiver.
25:36I think that either one of those young rookies, my preference is, but they're both very talented, but my preference is Jacoby Lane.
25:43I always liked him a lot as a prospect.
25:46Um, but either way, they've got some new bodies that are pushing in there.
25:50We've obviously got the shift in an offensive scheme here.
25:54So I would not be shocked if we see the Ravens shift more towards an increase in, I think they've still run
26:01plenty of two tight end sets, but, uh, with the exit of likely, I wouldn't be shocked if we see them shoot
26:08a little bit more towards 11 personnel and really rely on those rookie wide receivers there.
26:13So yeah, uh, my preference there is Goddard just for the higher upside option.
26:17And yeah, at some point, um, as Michael Alvin says, Stover, uh, Stowers and Claire are on your scout team.
26:24At some point, I would think that we would see Stowers in there, um, potentially working his way into being the heir
26:31apparent, because obviously this is the, um, last year for Dallas got it, right.
26:35It's the final year of his contract and they can always extend them from another for another year.
26:41Right. But as they did, but at the end of the day, I do think that Stowers is the future, but let's not step over, um, value.
26:49Let's not step over value for Goddard here. Famous J says, I think Stowers is being rated too low.
26:56Goddard was on the trade box last year. A trade can still happen.
27:00It could. Um, but I, I would think it would maybe happen more likely if AJ Brown was there.
27:06Um, getting rid of, for a team that still has prime Superbowl aspirations, leaving Devante is the only veteran pass catcher.
27:13And again, they got Hollywood and Dontavian Wicks, but I have no belief in either one of them.
27:18Right. But primary in terms of starters, right. Leaving Devante Smith as the main veteran, the only veteran there and relying heavily
27:25on multiple rookies feels a little bit risky there.
27:28So I do think they'll keep Goddard, um, and then potentially move on there.
27:33Um, and then loving life says thoughts on lemon as the Eagles wide receiver too.
27:37I don't love his ADP, right? I don't hate his ADP right now.
27:42Uh, or his ranking right now. His ranking was that I was just looking at it.
27:47He is wide receiver. Wide receiver. Scroll down. Wide receiver 30.
27:50Oh, where is he? Uh, 39. That's right. He's wide receiver 39.
27:54That's behind guys like Chris Godwin, Michael Wilson, Jordan Tyson, Brian Thomas Jr., Corlin Sutton, DK Metcalf, um, Marvin Harrison Jr.
28:01I don't mind taking a chance on him over a lot of those guys, obviously outside of like a Jordan Tyson and
28:08maybe Michael, uh, Michael Wilson, depending on how we see things shaping out during training camp and preseason in terms of his usage.
28:15But at the end of the day, um, I do think he's the solid second look on that offense.
28:21But do I think that we're going to see a massive change in terms of what we saw last year, which was
28:28AJ Brown's gripe of, um, that he's had really for a couple of seasons now, right?
28:33Since they added Saquon Barkley is that the past volume is inconsistent.
28:37I don't think that's going to change. And I don't think that's a negative on Jalen hurts.
28:43I think this team won a Superbowl leaning on the back of Saquon Barkley.
28:47I think they will go back to leaning on Saquon Barkley.
28:51So the volume will be there in terms of him being a wide receiver too, but it might be a season where
28:58he doesn't cross over, you know, a hundred targets, a little bit less volume, maybe not a lot of touchdown opportunities there.
29:05So it's okay, but I don't know if it's going to be a massive upside pick, but for the value, um, I'm not passing over it.
29:13Right. But I do like a lot of guys after him though.
29:17So that's maybe the only caveat. Like I like a Parker Washington.
29:21Um, I like a, obviously you guys know, I love Quentin Johnston, right?
29:25Um, there's guys like Josh Downs. So you can maybe get just as good value with a little bit higher upside by waiting a little bit.
29:33So not a terrible pick, not my favorite in that range.
29:37Um, I feel like that was the most wishy washy answer ever.
29:41So not, yeah, not a fade ranking is okay, but at the end of the day, I prefer other options in that range.
29:48Yeah. That's a good way to package it up there for sure.
29:52Um, jumping back here to the chat, Michael Allman says, um, should we be picking tight ends for our flex?
29:58Seems like a lot of them might be getting eight plus targets a game moving forward.
30:03It's not a bad option. I mean, obviously in tight end premium, for sure.
30:08We're going to head in that direction there. Um, but there is good depth for sure.
30:13And, um, depending on, and I, and I used to be very pro.
30:17No, I'm just rostering one tight end and then I'm streaming.
30:21But for the fact that we have so many, and obviously as we keep playing fantasy, our benches are getting deeper, right?
30:28And the fact that we have so many deep, um, assets that you could draft as just backup stash on your bench.
30:35Uh, yeah, uh, I'm pro not particularly drafting two higher end tight ends just because that unfortunately makes things a little bit wonky for you at other positions.
30:44It occasionally can work out. Um, you know, if it's a tight end premium leave, but for the most part, from what
30:51I've seen, when people double up on tight end, it makes it a little bit uncomfortable at one other position.
30:57That position is often running back. So you're rolling out two guys, but you're looking at your RB one as a, um,
31:04as a, as a David Montgomery or something like that.
31:07And you're just lacking a little bit of upside and it doesn't work out.
31:12My preference would be, yeah, I'm comfortable with rostering multiple tight ends, but I'm never going to intend right off the bat
31:19for one to be my flex option. I want to draft a high end tight end and then wait for a late
31:26guy to stash on my bench that I have a lot of high hopes for.
31:31You can go late, late guys. Don't be scared to go late.
31:34Last year, my late guy was a Rondé Gadsden.
31:37So, you know, as you know, uh, I forget her name as, um, the other user was talking about.
31:43Um, Sowers is very cost effective. So it hurts nothing at all for you to grab stash and wait for it to hit.
31:51Um, and then you can roll out these tight ends as flex options.
31:55I see a lot of that as we get towards the mid season there, because you're picking up some of these guys
32:02off waivers because they are really strong options and you are in fact ending up with multiple tight ends there.
32:08So, yeah, I mean, there's a, uh, you know, I don't, I don't love, I mean, looking at rookies, obviously, um, Stowers would be my preference.
32:17I don't love Kenyon Sadiq for the unfortunate fact of that he is dealing with an injury.
32:22So he will miss valuable training camp time. And obviously we know that there is sketchy, um, quarterback potential to maybe be
32:29good, but also maybe to be very bad over there.
32:32Um, but guys like, oh my gosh, um, speaking of Washington, actually, let's go to this, um, other mailbag question here, um, regarding Terry McLaurin here.
32:41Um, so I can pivot to talking about Chig Oconquo, um, at training camp, Chig is very present and they're, um, at OTAs for Washington.
32:49And, um, I, volume has been underwhelming for Chig in the past at Tennessee, but don't hold that against him.
32:55I really think that that was more of a function of Washington's offense, right?
32:59Not an indicator, uh, Tennessee's offense, not an indication of the talent level.
33:04Chig's got it. He just needs to get into a system that can make him one of the top looks in the offense.
33:11And realistically, um, the offense is just Terry McLaurin in terms of pass catchers there, like Terry McLaurin.
33:17I think that's why we're seeing a lot of Rashad White catching passes in OTAs as well, because this also could be
33:24a weird situation where, um, they might have to rely on Rashad White as a pass catcher if they're very limited.
33:31Um, obviously from a Clemson perspective, Antonio Williams was drafted.
33:34I have high hopes for him, but I mean, well, I have hopes for him.
33:38I will say they're high. I have hopes for him to maybe be the wide receiver too in that offense.
33:45But outside of that, what are we really looking at?
33:48De'Ami Brown was outed. Have we, you know, we rolled out De'Ami Brown in some good times, honestly, actually, you know, De'Ami
33:55Brown had some good times, um, but not great times.
33:58Right. So, so at the end of the day, it's offense.
34:02Um, we've got Terry McLaurin as this question says right here, I will read it for everybody on the podcast thoughts on Terry McLaurin.
34:10I'm not hearing a ton of talk about him.
34:12Jane Daniels healthy, no other strong options. Maybe Brandon Ayuk added a question mark there on that one.
34:18Um, yeah, I don't feel very positively about Brandon Ayuk.
34:21I was going, I was going to do more news, but we got some good questions here.
34:27We just started rolling. So I'm keeping on these, um, questions here.
34:31And then you guys in the chat, um, I am very skeptical of Brandon Ayuk.
34:35There's been a lot of yapping going on in the media.
34:39And the more he yaps, the worse I think it is for him because there's really only one location that seems to express any kind of remote interest.
34:48And he is a talented wide receiver, so he'll get opportunities, but he would not be the first wide receiver that is
34:55very talented that we have seen fall to the wayside with, um, interpersonal issues with the team, right?
35:01It has happened before just because you were producing at a high level does not mean that that is sustained.
35:07There are guys that just flat out fall off and it happens, right?
35:11Um, and looking at Brandon Ayuk, we don't hear a lot of chatter of a lot of teams that are trying to
35:18get him right because at the end of the day, um, he was coming off an injury.
35:24We never actually saw him play. Um, this is the second time that he has had, um, conflict with the 49ers.
35:30This is not new, right? Um, he sat out, was irritated, whining, crying, um, and got his contract, right?
35:36And then produced absolutely nothing. So it's really kind of a sketchy situation.
35:41And obviously no one is going to trade for him because nobody that's, that's, that's not desirable.
35:46They're waiting for him to get cut in order to grab him.
35:50And Washington obviously is the location where it seems like he wants to go.
35:54It seems like Jane Daniels wants him. Um, but at the end of the day, how much confidence do we have that
36:01at this point he can step on the field and really be something?
36:06Or once you sit out this long, have you simply just lost a step and it's difficult for you to recover, right?
36:13So that's the question there. Um, and also the more he yaps in public, the less inclined, the 49ers are to do anything.
36:20The 49ers will have to make a move. Um, and at this point it's probably a desire to be petty back to him.
36:27And I kind of don't blame them on that one.
36:31Um, usually I don't like these kinds of moves by the organizations, but I mean, they gave the man the money and
36:38he then got injured and then apparently got mad again and decided to not show up even though he had the money.
36:45I don't really understand it. Right. But wide receivers, who understands him?
36:48But at the end of the day, when we're looking at him potentially going here to Washington, I'm skeptical of it.
36:55So I am looking at other guys in the offense, but at the end, but really, uh, let me not say at
37:02the end of the day again, but really the key here, aside from my love that I have for Chico Conco being
37:09an excellent late round target at tight end 20.
37:12Um, Terry McLaurin is a guy that is being undervalued and I understand why, right?
37:17Because the Washington offense looked bad last season. Terry didn't look bad that season.
37:21Quite frankly, Terry didn't look good last season, in my opinion, because he was having those contract issues and it's just a
37:28recipe for disaster when you sit out all the way up until the season.
37:33Um, because despite your best intentions and people saying, well, no, he's a professional he'll prepare, um, you know, outside of the field.
37:40No man, it just, it doesn't work. It's a risk.
37:43So I would not be shocked. I don't think it was him being, you know, aging up or being cooked.
37:50I think it was just an unfortunate combination of poor overall offensive play injuries to Jane Daniels.
37:55Um, subpar play in second year, um, regression from Jane Daniels, uh, Terry McLaurin, not participating in training camp or preseason, uh, just a bad combination there, right?
38:04Bad offensive lines. It was just bad, right? So, um, higher hopes for him this season, higher aspirations for him and good
38:11value for him because at no point is he going to start shooting up there into the range where we're drafting, um,
38:18even like a, uh, my gosh, uh, who would be like a George Pickens, right?
38:23It's not, I mean, he'd never jump up that early to AJ Brown.
38:27He's not even going to jump up to the level that AJ Brown is at.
38:32So realistically a good pick there, um, for him going under the radar a little bit.
38:37And we know that prior to last year when Jane Daniels was in his rookie season and on fire, the connection that
38:44he had to Terry McLaurin was elite. And that is the only built-in connection that they have right now, unless they add
38:51in Brandon Iyuk, but really, and truly what kind of connection has remained over all this time?
38:57Brandon Iyuk's been in the league for a while.
39:00We cannot rely on a connection from college from years ago, right?
39:03Um, jumping here to the comments from Linda Wells.
39:06Um, really, really hate that you talk about the Eagles because I'm a Chiefs fan, but the defensive special teams value should be very reasonable.
39:14I think so as well. I think so as well.
39:17They're very in there, you know, um, it was an up and down season defensively for them as well.
39:24Um, it's just a weird season overall. Um, yeah.
39:26So I do think we'll see a little bit of a bounce back there.
39:31Um, easy E said, just dropped in again before the Spurs and Knicks game to say hi and turn off that dang, uh, mind reading device of yours.
39:40No, I can't turn it off there. And that was a good little warning time because I do see the starting lineups, um, out there right now.
39:48So we'll start to wrap things up here. I will finish up these chats here real quick.
39:54Michael Alban says Bears OC last year used two tight end sets.
39:58Now he's with the Ravens. He did. Um, but my fear isn't that he won't use two tight end sets.
40:04It's that, um, and then also, uh, yeah, I mean, he could, my fear isn't that he won't use two tight end sets.
40:12It's that, will he have the personnel to fit two tight end sets now with likely gone and them not making the
40:19big addition that we thought, like we thought like, uh, that David and Joku cause he kept visiting that he was going to go there.
40:27If that was the case and we're like, oh, but it is just Mark Andrews there now really and truly in theory.
40:34And like, who is the, I don't even know.
40:36Actually, let's look at real quick here. Um, Ravens depth chart.
40:40Who is behind him now? Um, no, no, no.
40:43It is Durham Smythe. I would never have guessed that.
40:46I'm glad that I looked. Uh, Durham Smythe is there.
40:49So, um, I mean, he's okay from a blocking perspective, so he can.
40:53Um, but even then, so I think the majority of the targets should tilt back to the receiving core.
40:59So, um, yeah, I do think we're going to see continued leaning, um, on those, um, upside for the rookies there.
41:06Um, my goblin says another year of Saquon, please.
41:09I think it's a bounce back for him for sure.
41:12Uh, leaving says rookie tight end learning curves, pretty steep.
41:15Fanon might be the exception. Pits took four seasons to be fantasy relevant.
41:20I give pits. I give pits a slight pass.
41:23Cause he did have some, uh, less than ideal quarterback situations to deal.
41:27Not the worst. Right. I mean, like when I look at bad quarterback situations, he did, he did not have to deal
41:34with the most destitute, but you know, he, he had to go through some stuff.
41:38It's funny because like, when we think about it, like, uh, I was literally looking at it last season and I was
41:46like, Oh, or looking at last season stats. And I was like, Oh my God, it was Kirk cousins that made Kyle
41:53pits pop at the end of the season. Oh my God.
41:56We have no evidence of Michael Penix jr. Um, really pushing Kyle pits up there.
42:01Oh yeah. So maybe we do want to at a start for the sake of, for the sake of Kyle pits.
42:08Cause I know to, it can hit a tight end.
42:11I know that I know to, it can hit a tight end.
42:15Um, so that's funny. Um, but good point there.
42:18It does take, it does, you know, we have such high expectations for our rookies right off the bat.
42:24Like again, as I'm talking about Kenyon Sadiq, I'm not expecting a lot this season.
42:28He's not a prime, like my, might I have some stashes of him perhaps, but I'm not expecting a ton of him this season.
42:36I think we've gotten very used to since, you know, we had like Sam Laporta popping off rock hours.
42:42I mean, we've gotten, we've been blessed. We've been spoiled, um, with these rookie tight ends, but remember a train McBride did
42:49not, a train McBride was not a rookie hit.
42:52Tight ends used to take time. They used to take time to develop.
42:56You needed three or four years. Right. Um, so we've had these athletic phenoms coming in and making a difference right off
43:03the bat, but sometimes it does take a little while.
43:06So, um, yeah, that's, that's a pro chick, um, pro chick little, uh, support system there.
43:12It could be, there's, it's very possible never write off tight ends because they didn't pop in the first three seasons.
43:18Cause you know, we've been spoiled by these little rookie phenoms coming in here.
43:23Um, leaving here, here, building a thing. Um, his ADP is interesting in the summer.
43:28Yeah, I think so too, but I'm like, I want to see, right.
43:32My only fear with him and I I'm pro him I'm in, I like him as a draft target, but I do
43:39want to see if they are interested in pushing Katron Allen, um, a little bit, um, because that's where we can run
43:46into the wrench of where we were at last year with Chris Rodriguez pushing in there.
43:51And unfortunately, you know, making that, um, making that backfield weird, right.
43:55To where he was taking goal line touches and stuff.
43:58And it was just ineffective. And anytime that, um, anytime that bill did get the vast majority of work, he, he was successful.
44:05Like if you give him to 20 carry 15 plus carries, he's going to do well.
44:10He'll pop off a big run. Um, but again, I fear, um, because Katron Allen is a very similar player, right?
44:17Um, just short yardage guy, not going to cast, you know, could theoretically, you never know.
44:22I never fault players for not catching passes in college, particularly when they were paired with somebody who caught passes, um, in committees.
44:30Cause it happens. It's not a big deal. Like just because you didn't, doesn't mean that you can Kenneth Walker didn't catch
44:37like caught like what two passes in college. And now he catches plenty.
44:41It's not, it's not that deep. Um, but it'll be interesting to see, uh, if they like Katron Allen on the ground,
44:48that's my only, only little bit of a fear there.
44:51That's it. But we'll see. But I feel good about bill, especially because again, the ADP is not rising guys.
44:57It's a, his max is a low end RB three.
45:01So when I'm looking at like risks and stuff, like I'm like, I don't care, but that's, that's, that's not a deep,
45:08but like, that's, that's not a issue. Like if I'm looking at, Oh, let's go ahead and wrap this up.
45:14But real quick, if I'm looking at Ja'Cory, where are you at Ja'Cory?
45:18Oh, I'm not in the overall rankings. I want to see who is being drafted around, um, Krosky Merritt.
45:24Okay. Right before him, well, a couple of guys right before him that I like, obviously Quentin Johnston, Kyler Murray, Ja'Cory Crosky Merritt, Josh Downs.
45:32But then it gets to George Kittle, Rashad White, obviously.
45:35Um, it's like mid tier quarterback options like Jordan Love again, Kyler Murray, um, tight ends.
45:41You start to dip into the tight end low end tight or high end tight end two area of Dallas Goddard and
45:48Isaiah Likley, um, hail Mary running backs like Tracy, Jordan Mason and whatnot.
45:52So yeah, I mean, you get into like a backup running back kind of committee kind of territory.
45:58It's, it's, it's fine. It's fine. Um, famous J says Iuke is becoming the less talented version of Terrell Owens.
46:04That's true. I have a funny TO story. Um, I've actually tried to get his autograph once when I was a kid
46:11and I'm probably like six, 16 or so. And maybe, yeah, yeah.
46:1516, somewhere between 14 to 16. I'll, I'll have to try and remember the exact timeframe, but I was trying to, he
46:22lived in Atlanta, saw him in, um, the Buckhead mall.
46:25And I was trying to get an autograph, me and my little brother.
46:29And we went up and he like, like bolted away from us and the mall was not crowded.
46:35It was me, him and nobody else in the mall.
46:38And I'm just sitting there with like a pen and paper, like a habit, like, and he like it.
46:44He put his little security person in between us and bolted out the store.
46:49And I'm like, dang, he lost a fan. He lost two fans that day.
46:53Lame. So lame. So that's my little TO story.
46:56Uh, Linda Wells. Yeah. And that's when the wheels started to come off.
47:00And I was like, yeah, that's karma, dude. Uh, Linda Wells.
47:04Diggs might be the location for, uh, for Washington.
47:07Uh, think about it. If they have the salary cap from Diggs.
47:10Yeah. And Diggs is from the DMV. Yeah. Yeah.
47:13I think that would be my preference. I think that's a very logical landing spot for him.
47:19I think it would work well. And I think he gets a lot, you know, for what it's worth, as much as,
47:26you know, occasionally his drama can be off the field.
47:29It's not as if he causes drama. Well, unless he feels unhappy about targets, occasionally he does feel, feel, um, a certain
47:36type of way, but those are behind him, right?
47:39He's accepted. Um, he's accepted. He's passed that point of his career.
47:43So I don't think there's like any risk of him being like a toxic teammate anymore.
47:48Right. Um, Donald has a good comment here. Um, Donald Gillespie says, how about dear miss fantasy football?
47:54Like I'll think about it. I'm a terrible commissioner.
47:56That's the only caveat why I've, why I've never done it, but I'll consider it.
48:01Maybe, maybe we'll do it. Um, maybe I'll find someone to be a co-commissioner there and help me out.
48:07Uh, and then leaving says with the giant horse statue by the pool for the TO story.
48:13Um, I don't remember cause I didn't go to the mall a lot, um, because I'm not from Atlanta.
48:19I'm from outside of Atlanta. Um, like literally an hour and a half away, but we would go there occasionally cause my
48:26mom loved the Georgia or she loved just going to, um, was it the, is that the, not, was it, was that Buckhead, Buckhead mall?
48:34No, no Linux mall, whatever. Anyway, she loved going to, um, cause we didn't really have a big mall in South Carolina that we could go to.
48:43So we would go to Atlanta for the mall and to Commerce Georgia for the outlets.
48:48A little more about me, FYI. Uh, famous J says, I see digs in Philly.
48:52Maybe would be a good presence for them to add.
48:56Um, if, especially if he wanted to, well, he doesn't, yeah, if he wants to chase a Super Bowl, not the worst
49:03place to go, but, um, yeah, I could see that as a potential one.
49:07Um, but we're going to wrap things up. People, I appreciate you joining in.
