Baker Mayfield

NegativeValue45:20

Baker Mayfield is identified as one of the last quarterbacks in superflex drafts that Applepay. Apply feels comfortable starting. He is considered a solid, reliable option to pair with another quarterback to avoid the 'dead zone' of late-round starters.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeBust18:47

Tyler Orchinski is skeptical of Caleb Williams, noting concerns about his consistency, decision-making, and accuracy. While acknowledging the offensive upside under Ben Johnson, Orchinski views Williams as a player with high volatility who could have significant peaks and valleys, making him a risky pick at his current price.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeBust45:25

Daniel Jones is considered a player to avoid in superflex drafts. Applepay. Apply expresses discomfort in having to rely on him as a starter, citing his recent performance and injury history as major concerns.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeBust13:53

Tyler Orchinski is avoiding Drake Maye at his current QB3 ADP. He suggests that Maye's 2025 performance may have been a ceiling outcome driven by an easy schedule, and he is wary of drafting quarterbacks at their absolute ceiling where there is no room for error.

Insight page

Fernando Mendoza

PositiveBreakout54:06

Fernando Mendoza is viewed as a promising young quarterback who could be a good NFL starter. While his fantasy value depends on his goal-line rushing usage, he is a player to monitor as a potential late-round superflex option.

Insight page

Geno Smith

NegativeValue50:55

Geno Smith is a viable late-round superflex bench stash. Despite some concerns, he is expected to start and has a decent offensive line, making him a useful trade asset or emergency fill-in.

Insight page

Greg Dulcich

NegativeSleeper35:09

Greg Dulcich is considered a fine late-round pick in best ball formats, primarily because he is the only viable pass-catching option in a thin Miami offense. However, there is skepticism about his long-term viability as a starting NFL tight end.

Insight page

Jacoby Brissett

NegativeValue51:46

Jacoby Brissett is considered a viable late-round superflex bench option. He has a history of being a solid fantasy asset and is expected to hold value as a starter or trade asset.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

NegativeValue14:00

Tyler Orchinski views Jalen Hurts as a solid player but prefers Jaden Daniels due to the latter's upside. He notes that while he was drafting Hurts earlier in the offseason when the price was lower, he now prefers other options in that tier.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

PositiveValue4:05

Tyler Orchinski is bullish on Jaden Daniels, citing his rushing upside and the Commanders' offensive potential. He projects Daniels as an 800-yard rusher in a 17-game season and prefers him over Jalen Hurts, noting that Daniels offers a comparable ceiling to Josh Allen at a much lower draft cost (rounds 5-6).

Insight page

Jordan Love

NegativeValue37:17

Jordan Love is viewed as a safe, efficient quarterback but lacks the 'sexy' upside of rushing quarterbacks. While he finished as QB5 in 2023, he has otherwise been a mid-tier producer (QB16, QB18). The case for him hinges on the Packers potentially moving away from their historically high rush rate, though there is skepticism about him reaching top-10 upside.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeValue6:43

Tyler Orchinski and Wyatt Bertalone are fading Josh Allen at his current ADP. They argue the opportunity cost is too high, as drafting him in the third or fourth round forces managers to pass on high-value players like Zay Flowers, Kyron Williams, or Breece Hall. They believe Allen must finish as the overall QB1 to justify his price, which leaves little room for error.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

PositiveValue5:44

Wyatt Bertalone highlights Kyler Murray as a strong late-round quarterback target who can be drafted for free at the end of best ball drafts, noting his dual-threat profile.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveValue4:05

Tyler Orchinski targets Lamar Jackson in the middle rounds, viewing him as an elite rusher who provides a ceiling comparable to Josh Allen without the extreme opportunity cost of a third or fourth-round pick.

Insight page

Malik Willis

NegativeUsage32:01

Tyler Orchinski is hesitant about Malik Willis, noting that while he has rushing upside and has shown slight improvement as a passer, the lack of talent in the Miami wide receiver room makes him a last-resort option in one-QB leagues.

Insight page
NegativeProjection32:35

Malik Willis is viewed as a 'break glass in case of emergency' quarterback due to a lack of offensive talent in Miami, specifically an abysmal wide receiver room and poor offensive line. While his rushing ability provides a floor, there is significant doubt regarding his passing development and ability to rise above the situation, leading to waning excitement.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

PositiveValue4:14

Tyler Orchinski is bullish on Patrick Mahomes, noting that he has been consistently drafting him in the middle rounds of his redraft leagues.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

NegativeValue45:20

Sam Darnold is grouped with Baker Mayfield as a reliable late-round superflex quarterback target. He is viewed as a safe floor option that allows drafters to avoid the uncertainty of the bottom-tier starters.

0:40Welcome on into another episode of Press Coverage where we help you get an edge in fantasy football.
0:45Here my host as always, Wyatt Bertalone. With me today, friend of the show, returning guest, Tyler Orchinski from FTN.
0:51And we're talking quarterbacks for 2026, the season. Before we get to those quarterbacks, Tyler, how are you?
0:57Good, man. Yeah, the season feels like it's here.
0:59Like I've got a couple redrafts already done. People are back.
1:02I think what really signals the season being close is the group chats that I'm in.
1:07Like my homely group chats are resurrected. You know, we've done our selections for where we're going to be drafting.
1:13You know, my brothers, some of my friends are starting to hound me for fantasy advice.
1:17Yeah. My brother the other day just realized that Kenneth Gainwell is no longer on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
1:23Those little things like that, you know, or just start talking through and reminding them that all the things are painfully obvious
1:29to us, but reminding, you know, respectfully like the casuals are back in the mix and there's nothing wrong with being a casual.
1:36In fact, I envy them in some ways that they can unplug from it.
1:40But everyone's back in on fantasy football. It's August.
1:42So it feels good. Right. I feel sometimes it feels like we're alone in this like this like little tiny bubble of
1:49fantasy football year round, but everyone's back and football's back.
1:52So thrilled to be here. Thrilled. It's the time of year.
1:55Ready to talk some quarterbacks. Yeah. The last episode I use the phrase casuals as you did, and I made sure to throw in non derogatory.
2:02Of course after because we're the weird ones, right?
2:05We are. They're the normal people. Yeah, they can have a life.
2:08They can unplug. We don't unplug. This is year round for us.
2:12It is a little weird. Yeah, man, it's I sometimes envy the guy who unplugs completely from football from February to August and has four leagues.
2:19It's been the full bell curve for me in fantasy football for me.
2:23But yeah, man, it's it's great. Football's here. All right.
2:26Let's talk about these quarterbacks. First question for you that I have is so far this offseason.
2:31I mean, we've been drafting some basketball teams throughout the soft season.
2:34You said you've done a couple of redraft leagues already.
2:37What's kind of been your strategy at the position so far?
2:41Yeah, my strategy has been I'll take the like the elite rushers when they fall.
2:45So what that's kind of netted me is a decent amount of Jaden Daniels and Lamar Jackson to an extent.
2:51I think, you know, kind of in the middle range.
2:54I have been grabbing a lot of my homes and we'll kind of get to get to that later.
2:59So I'm pretty, pretty bullish on him. But generally speaking, there's been a lot of late round quarterbacks that I feel pretty comfortable with.
3:06And I think we've got some good data over the years that shows like, hey, after the first couple of elite guys,
3:12like things are pretty flat and you don't need to kind of rush in there and start quarterback run.
3:18So, you know, when the guys I like fall, I grab them.
3:21But generally speaking, I've been pretty comfortable with the late round QB.
3:25I mean, I was last year as well. I think I've taken the same approach I did last year and found some success.
3:32And I'm doing the same thing again this year.
3:34Yeah, I'm definitely gravitate gravitating towards late around QBs this year.
3:37There's just some really good bets at players who have both the rushing and passing components to their their profile, like there's Kyler Murray.
3:44You can just like have for free at the end of your drafts in best ball drafts.
3:49I'm trying to find like two in that pocket between like round six to round 10 ish, you know, somewhere in there.
3:56But you mentioned you're still interested in like the elite Russian QBs.
3:59And I am to an extent, too, depending on where you can get them.
4:03Josh Allen is an elite Russian QB, but of course, he is the first quarterback off the board in almost every draft
4:10and usually by at least a couple rounds. Are you drafting Josh Allen at all?
4:14I'm not. I've been passing a lot. I mean, I've got grabbed him a couple of times like to see how it feels.
4:21But like the opportunity cost is just pretty extreme when it comes to like Josh Allen and the players that go around him.
4:27I understand why he goes that early. I mean, the dude's like a lock to be a top three quarterback.
4:33But at the same time, like when you're taking Josh Allen, like you're not drafting some pretty damn good players like, you
4:39know, guys that go around him like Zay Flowers, you know, Kyron Williams, Tett McMillan.
4:44Those are kind of the names that I'm seeing around him.
4:47Maybe like Brees Hall. And it's just like, I man, I have a really tough time liking my team when I when
4:53I grab a quarterback in that third, fourth round.
4:56Like the fifth feels a lot better. Right. Because I was able to get you able to get Lamar Jackson in the
5:02fifth, Jaden Daniels in the fifth or sixth. And to me, I think they have similar ceilings.
5:07I think the consistency is certainly going to be there with with Josh Allen and being a better bet.
5:13But the ceiling that I see from Jaden Daniels and the ceiling that I see from Lamar Jackson, I think is quite comparable to Josh Allen.
5:20So why not just wait a couple rounds for the same ceiling?
5:24It's because that's you know, that's what we're playing for is the ceiling, you know, kind of top level outcome.
5:29So it's just that it's just a little too expensive for me, I think, with Josh Allen and people take him.
5:36I get it. I'm not going to like talk people out of it and say they're idiots for grabbing Josh Allen that early.
5:42But it's just not been for me. Yeah, I'm with you.
5:45I've not drafted very much Josh Allen this year in best ball.
5:49If I see him like drop around like fourth round Josh Allen, I can start talking myself into it a little bit
5:55more, especially if it's like late fourth. But I'm afraid, you know, look, OK, obviously he has the greatest chance of finishing
6:02as the QB one amongst all the QBs. That's why he goes where he goes.
6:06But will he separate enough from the QBs being drafted after him compared to the other positions where you can be drafting running back wide receiver?
6:14I did a tweet today that's kind of like showing like, you know, in 2025, here's where the QB one finished points
6:20per game versus QB 12 and then running back one versus running back 24.
6:24Because most leagues you're sorry, there's 24 starting wide receiver wide receiver one versus wide receiver 36.
6:29And like the gap between those is so much greater at running back and wide receiver and trying to find, you know,
6:35top players at those other positions where you could actually create a meaningful difference.
6:39Like you hit on Josh Allen, he's QB one in fantasy this year, but people drafted QB two, three rounds later, like
6:46you lost more than not when that's the case.
6:48Yeah, I mean, Josh Allen has to finish QB one overall for him to pay off there.
6:53Right. Like that's that's the problem. Yeah, he has to finish the QB one there.
6:58Like if there's no risk baked in there, like it's basically like he has to hit.
7:02Otherwise, even if he finishes a QB four or five, it's it's you know, it's it's a miss in some ways.
7:08So I'm with you, man. We're just kind of like, what are we?
7:12What value are we getting there? And it's just it's not existent.
7:16I get the safety of it. But that's just not how I'm deciding to play the quarterback position.
7:21Now, there's been this tier of QBs through drafts this offseason of Drake May, Jaden Daniels, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Caleb Williams.
7:27They've all kind of been locked in together pretty closely.
7:30Now, you mentioned you've been drafting a lot of Jaden Daniels.
7:33Is that your favorite QB from that tier? Yeah, absolutely.
7:36I'm pretty bullish overall on the commanders offense. I think you can look at what it was in twenty twenty four and Jaden Daniels rookie season.
7:44And you can also look how Terry McLaurin performed.
7:46And it's a pretty easy story to tell. Like, hey, if they stay healthy, like that's something that they can repeat.
7:52Jaden Daniels in 17 game season, I think is an 800 yard rusher and an 800 yard rusher is somebody that we need to be paid attention to.
8:00So for me, it's a pretty easy and straightforward concept of like, hey, like he's like I mean, you can we can
8:07talk about Jalen Hurts in a second. But like he's just an easy upside pick that you can get in rounds.
8:13You know, what is that probably around six? So for me, that's been a good smash there.
8:18Like I don't mind those other guys. You know, I'll see you Joe Burrow fall once in a while, especially in best
8:24ball, because if somebody like doesn't have Higgins or Chase, they usually don't draft Joe Burrow.
8:29But, you know, generally been avoiding Drake May generally been avoiding Caleb Williams.
8:33Just I don't think anything like against them. It's just that range.
8:36I don't necessarily like taking them. Jalen Hurts is in that tier.
8:40But I actually, you know, I would say earlier in the season, he was going well below that tier and I was taking a lot of them.
8:47But I still prefer Jaden Daniels to Jalen Hurts straight up.
8:51Drake May, you're avoiding him. Can you speak on that a little bit?
8:54Yeah, man. I know he can scoot. I know he can run.
8:58I just like look at kind of how things I know is adding AJ Brown, right?
9:02So I generally speaking like things are good. I think you look at the schedule that last year and like I think
9:09it was just kind of like a perfect storm.
9:11And I think he's probably a top 10 lock.
9:14I feel really good about him. I've always liked Drake May.
9:17It's just not a name that I've been clicking.
9:20I don't necessarily have maybe the best explanation as to why I haven't been clicking him.
9:25It's just more so kind of like he's going this high, you know, QB three, I think is his ADP because like you finished up there before.
9:32But I think there's like this, this idea where I'm like, maybe, you know, maybe that was the ceiling.
9:38I see a similar kind of argument we have for Josh Allen.
9:41We're like, are we drafting them at a ceiling?
9:44And that's kind of how I feel about Drake May.
9:47I don't want to be drafting these guys, particularly quarterbacks, like at their ceiling, because there's just not a lot of room for error.
9:54Like things don't work out. Games get a little tougher.
9:57It throws a couple extra picks. Doesn't run in a couple of touchdowns.
10:00All of a sudden, Drake May is QB eight or QB nine.
10:04It's not a miss. But like, again, I just don't think there's a lot of room for error for grabbing Drake May as the QB three.
10:11So I'm not a player. I'm necessarily going to be vocal about people avoiding, but like just a guy that I have not been clicking.
10:19That makes sense. I'm more bullish on May, but I do think there is some validity to the argument that the Patriots
10:25just had a really easy schedule in 2025 and kind of everything just lined up perfectly for them, you know, to, to
10:31kind of stomp on some opponents for most of the season.
10:35And it's not going to be so easy to do that this year.
10:38I got a question for you about this tier.
10:41Now, let's say you could draft Jane Daniels in the six of one QB league, just standard one QB league.
10:47You could draft it. Jane Daniels in the six or one of these other four QBs.
10:51And you don't know which one would be available in round eight.
10:55Would you wait till round eight? No, I don't think I would take in Daniels.
10:59Yeah, I would just take Daniels. If you tell me it was Jalen hurts in round eight, I would do it.
11:05If it was Jalen hurts around eight, I would do it.
11:09But no, I think I would take Jane Daniels in the six.
11:12There's a good question. And I think about it, but to me, the price just feels good about Jane Daniels with the ceiling.
11:19So, I mean, it's a good question, but I still would be go Jane Daniels in the six.
11:24Who's the QB you're afraid of being stuck with in round eight?
11:27Out of that group? Yeah. Probably Caleb Williams. Yeah.
11:30Man. God, we're going down the bears route again.
11:33So like, I get it. There's a lot of upside in this offense.
11:36Ben Johnson's incredible. You know, come from a line stand.
11:39I know firsthand how good the guy is. And I think it's the bears generally are a good bet to make for
11:46taking a step up as a, as a, as a offense and becoming elite like top five offense for fantasy.
11:51Right. I get it. But I also like don't necessarily believe Caleb Williams is elite yet.
11:56Like he is shown signs of being elite, but he also showed signs of just not totally getting it and not being great.
12:03I think there's a certain, I don't know. I don't know.
12:06Like there's things that Jared golf could do. There's physical limitations that Jared golf has, but could still operate the offense.
12:12And there was times last year when watching bears games, when I was just kind of like shocked at some of the
12:18decision-making that Caleb Williams would make, or I was kind of really just like thrown off by like the inaccurate throws.
12:24Right. That's kind of been something he's been dealing with is this completion rate and inaccuracy.
12:29And I just don't know if it's all necessarily there yet.
12:32And things are moving in the right direction. Like, don't get me wrong.
12:36Um, and if Caleb Williams, like had a crazy, like MVP like season, like, I guess I would be totally shocked, but
12:42he's just like, it's, I'm not there yet. It's not necessarily like a guy that I'm buying.
12:47I get he had the pedigree, you know, people throw around the generational thing.
12:51He was, you know, decent, you know, as a rookie, he's been progressing the right way.
12:56Everything's the table is set for him to succeed, but he's just doesn't.
13:00He's just not a guy that I necessarily can completely believe in.
13:03And more importantly, I think why it is that he's a guy that I'm okay.
13:08Missing up. Caleb is last for me, uh, this year.
13:11I'd probably be happy with taking him in the eighth round of most drafts.
13:15If I had to guess if I, if I'm really thinking about it, I think I'd probably just be happy with that.
13:21But I'm just in this weird spot with Caleb Williams because it feels like you can't say anything bad about him because I mean, he is amazing.
13:29And like, I'm in the spot where I can complete all of him at times and what he can do.
13:35And then also look at him and say like, he's still got a lot of work to do.
13:40You know, like consistency is just not there for him.
13:43And there could be some big peaks and valleys, I would say, to his season.
13:47And I don't want to get caught in a valley, you know, in fancy playoffs.
13:51At this price, at this price. At this price.
13:54Yeah, particularly. I'm with you on that. It's a little tough.
13:57All right. We're going to take a quick second to hear out that NFFC and we come back.
14:02We've got more quarterback talk for all of you.
14:05The NFFC, my favorite high stakes fantasy platform. Why?
14:08Third round reversal, Kentucky Derby draft slot allocation. So it's a lottery based system where you can put in your preference where you want to draft.
14:15It's full PPR. There's three receivers. It's the best place to play fantasy football, especially for high stakes.
14:20And now they've combined with the FFWC, they have a lot more contests to offer.
14:25In fact, they have a double crown bonus where you can join the NFFC prime time.
14:29And if you win that 300 grand, you can also join the circle world championship.

16:01Let us know how we're doing. Let us know what we think about, what you think about these QBs and how you feel about them.
16:08Tyler, though, before we get to these QBs again, what have you been working on?
16:12Um, you know, I think in large part it's just going to be the ranks, man.
16:17I think that's just like, you know, I've been over at FTM.
16:20This is going to be my second full season at FTM Fantasy.
16:24The ranking and, you know, my performance in the Fantasy Pros accuracy contest has been a large part as to why I got the job there.
16:31So, I need to keep those ranks good. So, I've been working hard on the projections, been working hard on the draft
16:38ranks, you know, dynasty ranks, the rookie ranks, and that really drives the majority of the stuff that I'm doing.
16:44You know, consistently putting out a podcast every week, crossing routes podcast, part of that FTN network, you know, articles, some YouTube or TikTok shorts, what have you.
16:52But I would say what really drives me in most of my time is just trying to get those ranks up and
16:58as accurate as possible over at FTN, man. And they are indeed accurate.
17:02Everyone, check out Tyler Franks because they are quite good.
17:05All right. Late round QBs for one QB leagues.
17:07Are there any QBs in particular that you're trying to target if you're just deciding, you know, I'm going to be the last person to draft a quarterback?
17:15Yeah, I mean, Tyler Shuck is a name. Besides having an elite first name, he's been a guy that I've been after here a lot.
17:23You know, one of the bigger surprises of the 2025 season, didn't start the season off, took him a little bit to become the starter.
17:30Old as hell. Not a guy that I necessarily was in on.
17:33You know, I'll admit to that. But he did well when given the job.
17:37I mean, at the end of the day, it's like I can't take anything away from this guy.
17:43Once he got his opportunity from weeks nine to 17, he was a QB 11 in fantasy.
17:48Right. And he was a top 12 guys. QB one proving himself.
17:51I think a reliable asset like scooted enough on the ground to get it done.
17:55You know, to me. It's also about the situation that he's in.
17:59Right. He's a locked in starter. More importantly, I think that this Saints offense is like low key fantasy gold.
18:05Right. It's going to be fast paced. They got my favorite prospect in Tyson over there.
18:09They signed ETN. You know, we know Kellen Moore is capable of in terms of an offensive mind.
18:15They're in a dome. Their defense sucks. So they're gonna have to throw.
18:18And I just like I want Saints on my fantasy football teams this year.
18:22So I kind of like made it, you know, a case there.
18:26I was like, hey, it's a small sample size, but we saw him with low QB one numbers.
18:31He rushes enough. And then you just look at the more macro picture that we have here for the Saints.
18:37And I just want in. So he's been a guy that like in one QB leagues, I'm more than comfortable just taking
18:43in and starting him right out of the gates and see how things go.
18:47So I mean, without a doubt, Tyler Tyler Shucks got to be the guy that I've been clicking the most in terms of late round quarterbacks.
18:55I like the shot call. I think the Saints are one of like the few teams that basically every fantasy analyst is like trying to get behind.
19:03But somehow like his ADP is rising at all.
19:05Like it's kind of just been stuck in the same place, even though a lot of people seem to think this is
19:12a team that could surprise a lot of people with how good the offense can be behind Tyler Shuck.
19:17I want to ask you about some more and get your thoughts on them.
19:21Next, I want to ask Malik Willis, because we know we have this small sample size where he's been very good as a passer.
19:28We know that he's a very good rusher. There's no doubt about that.
19:32But he's on this Miami offense with very little talent other than Devana Chan behind him.
19:37Are you open to drafting him in one QB leagues where like if it's very obvious it's not working out, you can
19:43just move on and stream after that? Or are you just worried about not enough team to draft him?
19:48I mean, if I get like backed into a corner, you know, and like, you know, the Kyler Murray's are gone.
19:55The Tyler Shucks are gone. And I'm okay with taking Malik Willis as I do think like we have a very, very
20:01small sample size of him improving as a passer.
20:04And we know that the rushing's there, but it's really just like the situation, man, like arguably one of the worst wide receiver rooms in all of football.
20:12I don't know if the chance I'm able to hold up under that.
20:15I mean, well, Jeff Halfley, Bobby Sloick, the offensive line is probably not going to be very good.
20:21The odds are stacked against him. And I just don't know if he's going to be able to rise above even as a rushing quarterback.
20:28Now, like I said, if my if I'm a back against the wall and a couple of my late round guys are
20:34gone, you know, I'll take them and just like see how it goes.
20:38But like I'm also like very comfortable kind of like if I need to drop and stream or kind of stream a
20:44duo of quarterbacks going forward, I'll do it. I just think I'm not sure he has enough in him in terms of
20:51talent and experience to rise above what I think is going to be a pretty abysmal situation offensively.
20:56So I think I was a little more excited like when, you know, free agency hit and like he signed the on
21:02the Dolphins, but like as we've progressed through free agency and as we've progressed through the NFL draft and like they've just
21:09had no like urgency and adding absolutely anything. You know, we got some people that are like talking themselves into Dulcich as being a legitimate starting tight end.
21:17I mean, who else is there starting tight in the NFL, but who else is there?
21:21Yeah, he's a fine late round pick, but in reality, you shouldn't be starting on an NFL team.
21:27He's not a 32 tight end in the NFL.
21:29No. So, I mean, I don't mind grabbing him late.
21:32Certainly they can pair with something. The best ball, pair him late.
21:36Sure. Sure. Who else is catching the damn ball there?
21:39Malik Willis has to throw the ball 20 to 25 times a game.
21:42The ball has to go somewhere wide. It's probably going to go to Dulcich.
21:46I would debate he doesn't have to throw it 20 to 25 times.
21:50I mean, okay. It might be less. Yeah, it might be less.
21:54I mean, maybe I was being a little generous at 25, but he has to throw the ball 20 times a game.
22:00Let's say that's a fair amount of times to be throwing the football a game.
22:04So, yeah, I just, as the season's progressed, man, it's not gotten any better.
22:08So, I've kind of wavered off my, I don't know if I say bullishness or my excitement has kind of waned as well.
22:15So, yeah, man, a guy that I was like, all right, like this could be a real good sleeper option to being
22:21like, I don't know if he can rise above.
22:24Yeah. Malik Willis has kind of been like a break glass in case of emergency QB for me, but not one.
22:30Yeah, it's fair. For many of the reasons you said.
22:33It's a good way of putting it, man. Great way of putting it.
22:37One more QB I want to talk about before I move on to our next point on the show sheet is Jordan
22:43Love, who's been one of my favorite QBs in best ball so far this year.
22:48And one that I'm looking at a little bit for one QB leagues if I'm one of the last people to take
22:54a quarterback because, one, we've seen him be, you know, a top quarterback in fantasy.
22:58He's been very efficient. I like what they've done in the offense where they're kind of condensed down the wide receiver core.
23:05I think it's actually beneficial to the team if they actually just kind of stop worrying about making sure they get like
23:11Bo Melton snaps and stuff like that. Also, everything going on with Josh Jacobs makes me think, well, if that's going down,
23:17and if we're having to see, a lot of Marshawn Lloyd at some point this season, to me, that's bullish for the
23:24pass game because I doubt LaFleur is going to then heavily lean on Marshawn Lloyd.
23:28Yeah. So, I mean, I'm right at market with Jordan Love.
23:31I think his ADP is 18. I have him ranked at 18.
23:35Packers fans think that's ridiculous because they think he's like a top 10 quarterback absolutely in the NFL.
23:40You know, I think like he's efficient and he's looked good.
23:43I think the question you have to ask yourself is you look at the Packers and they've been like a top seven NFL team in a rush rate.
23:51Like that's been, they've been a rushing heavy football team.
23:54And I think you made a good point. Like with the Josh Jacobs stuff going on, if we, if Jacobs doesn't play, he's getting older.
24:01Do we see this team kind of move away from being a rush first NFL team as we've seen them for the
24:08last, you know, four or five years? I think that's a very valid question.
24:12And frankly, if you were to build the case for Jordan Love and tell me, I know I'm, I'm taking Jordan Love
24:18above cost because I think the Packers will pass more.
24:21I know. I think that's a very valid argument.
24:24I certainly don't have a problem with you. You telling me that he's just a guy that like, I have a cost.
24:30I, you know, if he, I want to take him like he's right there next to Tyler Shuck for me.
24:36Like I'd take him. I don't feel necessarily good about it.
24:39I don't think he has like the thing with, with, with, with Jordan Love is like, I'm not necessarily bought and sold on the top 10 upside.
24:47It's like a safer pick. And I understand like he's shown flashes.
24:50He's had good games. People will point to some injuries that have happened as to why he hasn't finished there consistently.
24:56But in my mind, he's just like, it's like Jared golf in a sense where it's like, I don't, if they're safe, they're in that good range.
25:04And, you know, everything's kind of happens and falls the right way.
25:08Sure. They could be top, top eight, top 10 guys.
25:11Absolutely. But there's just not a lot of insulation there due to the fact that they're not really rushing quarterbacks.
25:16And I guess they're just, you know, it's not really like a sexy pick.
25:21So I do like the pass catchers. I have been like, you know, invested in, into, you know, Watson for a bit there.
25:27I really liked Jaden Reed. I think golden actually goes in a fairly like fair spot as well.
25:32We all know how we feel about Tucker craft, big fan, but I found myself investing in the pass catchers a bit
25:39more than I have in Jordan love. I do have to mention a little, uh, QB five finish for Jordan love in 2023.
25:45Okay. So he's done it once. He's been there.
25:48There's some ceiling. There's some ceiling. Sure. Maybe that was it though.
25:52Everyone has their year. It's like 16.3 and 16.1 in the last two years.
25:56Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What did he finish in those two years?
25:59Uh, yeah. He's QB 16 and QB 18. Yeah.
26:01Yeah. It's an outlier year. It's like Trevor Lawrence last year, just not a liar year, man.
26:06The pass rate does have to go up. I'm kind of betting that it does.
26:11Sure. On to our last point of the show today, super flex leaks.
26:14Do you, or I should say, are you comfortable actually waiting on QBs at all in super flex?
26:20Or are you afraid of getting stuck with one of these last debatably starting quarterbacks?
26:24You know, like where's the cutoff where you're like, I have to make sure I've gotten my two QBs by now.
26:30Yeah. Love that question. So I actually have the second overall pick in my home league, super flex.
26:35Like, and I'm not going to go QB. Um, I've really kind of come off taking QB early and super flex redraft leagues.
26:42I think you got to take them in, in dynasty.
26:45Cause if you're buying a ball in dynasty, a quarterback, you're screwed.
26:48Um, and redraft leagues. Um, you know, I, there's just such a big middle pack of quarterbacks.
26:53Like we've kind of talked about it. Like, you know, like once we get past that, that, that, that pack of guys
27:00we're talking about the, the, the Williams, uh, you know, the, I mean, like the Burroughs, the Hurts.
27:05I think even like the Prescott's, the, the Herberts like that range.
27:08Um, you know, there's just a big pack of dudes that I'm like, all right.
27:13Taking like Nick Stafford golf, love Murray that like you, that where that like line for me is, is like, I like taking Baker Mayfield.
27:20I like taking Sam Darnold, but like right there is like the Daniel Jones, CJ Stroud, Cam Ward line.
27:25Um, and I don't love having to trot out Daniel Jones, CJ Stroud or Cam Ward.
27:30And I get, it's really just the Achilles for, for Daniel Jones at this point, but having to like walk out CJ
27:36Stroud or Cam Ward, or like even Bryce Young.
27:39That's where things get tough. Like when I talk about, Hey, who's that last group of quarterbacks I feel good about it's Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold.
27:47Those would be like, I'm, I'm good. Like I'm, I'm feeling good.
27:50I walked away with those guys. Like, even though those are my two quarterbacks and I like avoided quarterback, I'd be okay.
27:57But as you start getting into the Stroud, the Daniel Joneses and the Cam Ward's is kind of where I'm like feeling like, all right.
28:04Uh, I don't feel good about kind of kick punting quarterback till later.
28:08Yeah. I'm with you. Like if I, if I don't have at least one quarterback before we're getting, getting to the like
28:14Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Jordan Love, like Tyler Shuck.
28:17I'm already a little bit worried. Yeah. Fair. Be drafting one of them as my second QB.
28:22Yeah. Absolutely. Like two in the pocket. Basically. Um, if I have to do, you know, one of them as my first,
28:28the first QB I've drafted, I, I really hoping I grab another one from that area.
28:33Because as you mentioned, like once you start getting down to Daniel Jones, you just try out Bryce Young.
28:38Like it gets real tough to feel comfortable actually putting them out.
28:42Uh, you're, you may even be a position where you're starting a skill position player over them at times.
28:47Mm hmm. Like once that becomes a conversation, you know, you're, you're in a bad spot.
28:52Um, the one that like, I don't know, maybe, maybe I'm crazy, like actually waiting long enough and you could feel comfortable enough, but like not actually comfortable.
29:00Like if you went heavy on all the other positions, I mean, Aaron Rodgers is probably gonna start the entire season.
29:06And I don't think you could say that for a lot of the other QBs at the end of the draft.
29:12Yeah. I'm not sure how good it's going to be, but he's probably actually going to start every game.
29:18Yeah. I mean, it's ugly. Um, but he's like more of like a third emergency quarterback for me.
29:23I'm like, I mean, I think they run more.
29:25I think they run three wide receiver set. I mean, sorry, I think they pass more.
29:30I think they run three wide receiver sets, but like, it's like, I was looking at like my, I literally was pulling up my phone.
29:37I was pulling up like my exposure just to like, be like, Hey, like what kind of would have made, like, I
29:44would say like my most like realistic drafted team would be like a Jaden Daniels, Sam Darnold.
29:49Like that to me is like a, I feel very comfortable with that.
29:52You know, I think alternatively like a Mahomes golf or like a Lamar Jackson or Shuck kind of like those two pairs
29:59where it's kind of like, you're not the elite of the elite, but that second tier, one of those guys.
30:05And then like, then we're moving into like guys I really like.
30:08So, um, that's kind of like how I've been, I think I like approach things is like, I don't need to get
30:14the Josh Allen's, but I, you know, I want to get a guy I feel really good about.
30:20And then one of those like last guys that I think is in that range where I was like, I feel good about it.
30:27Like I'm not necessarily, um, you know, happy to walk away in a draft of my, regardless of who my QB one
30:33is, if I'm walking away with like my second quarterback being like, you know, Rogers or Brissette or Geno Smith, like that's just, it doesn't sit right.
30:41I honestly, I feel like I, I waited too long and punted too far.
30:45I was going to finish up by asking you in your, just a normal super fact, super flex redraft leagues.
30:51Um, is there any even point in drafting a Cardinal Brown or jet QB?
30:55Um, I mean, I think there's a point like, yeah, I would certainly park Geno Smith on my, on my bench as like a third QB.
31:02I think he'll like hold, hold some value. Brissette, I'll take him.
31:06I mean, yeah, I mean, there's a point. I mean, Brown knows respectfully why, um, no, um, answer for the Browns.
31:12Yeah. Uh, but I, I would, I would park Brissette or Geno Smith like in the last couple of rounds is like,
31:18it could be like a trade asset in case somebody else gets hurt or it could be like, you know, it still
31:25finds like super flex play most weeks. I would think, you know, I definitely think that.
31:29I think the jets offensive line is, is a little better than people are giving it credit for right now.
31:35And there actually are some pretty solid weapons around, you know, Smith and, um, we saw how ugly can get with the Raiders.
31:42But I also think like a year prior, he looked great on the Seahawks.
31:46So I'm not like thinking Geno Smith is like complete dust at this point, especially with the decent offensive line.
31:51And I think we've seen Brissette be a really solid fantasy asset.
31:55I mean, granted, a lot has changed since then in terms of, you know, the leadership and the offense, but we know
32:01he at least can like get it done. So I wouldn't mind parking those guys at the end of my bench, but
32:08I am, I am, uh, avoiding the Browns is like, there's nothing good coming out of camp.
32:13Why? It on the quarterback front. And I know I don't have to tell you that.
32:17Yeah. There just came out today that like, what the like 35 team or like teams basically said, like Shadr Sanders was going to be 35 with 35.
32:25Okay. I can't remember the exact quote, but it's bad there.
32:29I'd say like, you're obviously going to be in a really tough position if you're thinking about these kinds of choices.
32:35But if you are one of the last people in your league to draft quarterbacks in your super flex leagues, I think
32:41one of the things you can do is draft like Fernando Mendoza and Brissette or Geno Smith.
32:46So they can kind of hold down the fort until Mendoza starting.
32:49I actually think Mendoza is going to be a pretty good QB in the NFL.
32:54Fantasy wise, it'll kind of depend on how much rushing he does near the goal line because he's not really a runner,
33:00but he's shown that he's willing to do it near the goal line.
33:04But that's basically the only place where I want to be drafting Brissette or Geno.
33:08Yeah, that's pretty fair, man. All right, Tyler. Appreciate you.
33:11As always, before we get out of here, let everyone know where to find you, find your work.
33:16Yeah. So I have Tyler on Twitter. I'm not as active on there as I used to be.
