Carnell Tate

PositiveBreakout0:20

Carnell Tate has no meaningful target competition in Tennessee and is rising in projections. He was drafted ahead of Fernando Mendoza in recent startups and is now a top-10 wide receiver prospect.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeValue0:15

Chuba Hubbard's efficiency is poor, making him a light return in trades. The host is not confident in his fantasy value compared to other running back options.

Insight page

Demond Claiborne

PositiveSleeper0:19

DeMond Claiborne is the host's 'absolute favorite guy to draft in the third round of Dynasty rookie drafts,' indicating strong conviction in his value at that draft position.

Insight page

Fernando Mendoza

PositiveProjection0:20

Fernando Mendoza was drafted after Carnell Tate in recent startup drafts, indicating lower draft capital and perceived value compared to Tate.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveRole0:05

George Kittle's presence on a roster affects tight end handcuff value, making LaQuint Allen less valuable in tight end premium leagues where Kittle is the starter.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

NegativeValue0:15

Jordan Mason is viewed unfavorably by the host, who is 'way out' on him as a fantasy asset, suggesting limited confidence in his long-term value.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeBust0:04

Josh Jacobs faced legal troubles including allegations of strangulation and property damage, causing his value to plummet. The host traded him away for a 2027 first, 2027 second, Sean Tucker, and LaQuint Allen—a deal that would be impossible to replicate in the current market.

Insight page
PositiveInjury0:08

The NFL is unlikely to suspend Josh Jacobs unless he is sentenced, as the league has shifted to letting the legal system play out before taking action, unlike their approach five years ago.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:09

Josh Jacobs is 28 years old at the back end of his prime with declining fantasy value. At best, he projects as RB8-RB9 with 15.8 fantasy points per game, making him a depreciating asset.

Insight page

LeQuint Allen

PositiveValue0:05

LaQuint Allen becomes a valuable asset when George Kittle is unavailable, making him a worthwhile addition in tight end premium leagues as a handcuff.

Insight page

Sean Tucker

PositiveValue0:05

Sean Tucker is viewed as a valuable addition in the trade, contributing to the overall quality of the return alongside LaQuint Allen and future draft picks.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

PositiveRole0:20

Wandale Robinson is dismissed as target competition for Carnell Tate in Tennessee, with the host explicitly stating he has never cared about Robinson and does not view him as a meaningful threat.

1:26The pie father is the best in the game.
1:29Who dat? The Trade Gods. This is Trade Gods.
1:31Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here with the coach, and we have startups to talk about.
1:36Yes, trades and startups, startups, picks for picks, swaps.
1:39We've got rookie drafts and trades within rookie drafts, and we've got a trade for Zay Flowers.
1:44We're going to talk about it. We also have a mega deal involving multiple first-rounders that I did.
1:49It's all coming up. It's all coming straight at you.
1:53We're on Trade Gods. We're talking trades. Coach, I've been bugging you, calling you quite a bit with the goings-on and some
1:59startups, but I want to get to that. The startups that I'm in with Cody did some interesting tactics.
2:05Multiple tight ends might have been drafted early. Multiple quarterbacks might have been drafted early, so we have a lot to talk about there.
2:12First and foremost, though, we're just going to pull up a trade.
2:16Any trade, we're going to reach into our box of trades.
2:19By the way, when my daughter was young, we had something called the prize box.
2:24We'd go to CVS, Target, get a bunch of things, get a bunch of little things, put them in a box, wrap
2:31it up, put a wrapping paper around it, put a hole on the top, put it up out of reach.
2:37Whenever she did something good, whenever she ... It was a great thing.
2:41I was like, you know, and maybe we could just arbitrarily say, hey, you know what I think this deserves?
2:47I think we need to take a trip to the prize box.
2:50And so I just, I really enjoyed that. And that's kind of how I feel about some of these trades, where I'm like, let's just reach in.
2:59Let's see what we've got. On the last Trade God show, I did a catastrophic trade, letting go of the 101 in
3:05this year's draft, which became obviously Jeremiah Love for just not nearly enough.
3:09And you all have been hammering, just hammering me in the comments saying, hey, why are we even listening to this guy?
3:16If he's not a perfect trader, why are we even listening to him?
3:20Why is he even on the internet? Like, this guy needs to have a 100% hit rate.
3:25And I'm sorry, but that's not going to happen.
3:28However, I think I will be vindicated today. I think the trade, these are all the trades.
3:33We're laying out all the trades that happened the week or two weeks prior.
3:37And sometimes these trades age well. Sometimes they don't.
3:40Sometimes I look back and I don't even remember what the hell happened and how the hell I got in that situation.
3:47And other times I'm like, oh, I remember that exactly.
3:50And we were surgical and it was amazing. And we went in and we went back and forth.
3:55And we chiseled and chiseled and chiseled and finally came to terms.
3:59And we killed that trade. We slayed. Just depends, man.
4:02Just depends. So we're just grabbing a trade, put it up on the board.
4:06Oh! Imagine! Imagine, coach, of all trades to randomly post this particular deal.
4:10It is as follows. I send Josh Jacobs before his recent incident with law enforcement.
4:15This was a couple weeks ago. I send Josh Jacobs and Tongs from San Francisco.
4:19It's a tight end premium league. And the 4.02 in this year's draft.
4:23And I get back Sean Tucker, LaQuint Allen, a 2027 second and a 2027 first.
4:28Oh! See? See? I do know what I'm doing.
4:31Yeah. Look, some of these trades, they age like an IPA and they're hot garbage.
4:35And others, like a Brunello, a nice red for five years.
4:39And the beauty is, this age like that Brunello wine, just beautifully in just a matter of a week.
4:44Look at that left side. 27 first, 27 second.
4:47You're stacking already. He's already up there in age.
4:50Josh Jacobs is 28. Okay? He'll be a middling 28 years of age come this fall.
4:55He has really no intersection with law enforcement that we know of.
4:58So this could end up clearing for him. But granted, the nature of what he's done, I am not a lawyer.
5:05We shall see what happens. But what a time.
5:08Because right now, you cannot, on this other side.
5:10So you had to do this on the other side back a couple weeks.
5:15You cannot get a 27 first at all for Josh Jacobs.
5:18No. You're lucky to get a second. People who are holding out for any first.
5:23Man, it better be one of those cliffs where it's like past 108 of the rookies for this year.
5:28And you hope and pray. Well, you'll be hard pressed to even get those ones.
5:33So you were able to get a 27-1, 27 second.
5:36On the other side, Tongs is vastly irrelevant, shy of George Kittle being out.
5:40That 402 is a nothing burger. You get LaQuint Allen and Sean Tucker.
5:44That's just like the chef's kiss on top. Because I know you were talking about trying to, you know, win in the future.
5:51Trying to build for next year. It's not the right now.
5:55This isn't that Gibbs team that you have. So you're cooking by getting away from somebody, Josh Jacobs, at the tail end of his prime.
6:02This is perfect for you. You cannot do this deal today.
6:06So how does it feel to have that fired off?
6:09You wake up after the rust of what happened last week with that trade.
6:13How are you waking up? How are you moving?
6:16You're walking around your house. You're elated, right? Shoulders back.
6:19What's it like to walk around knowing you have this in your bag?
6:23Just like I had no recollection of trading the 101 and can't believe that I did it.
6:28Still think I was sleepwalking or something at the time.
6:31I have no idea. Same thing with this trade.
6:34I didn't remember making this trade. I didn't remember this at all.
6:37What I did, because I looked through my rosters on sleeper and I didn't have any Josh Jacobs.
6:43And I'm like, I swear, I swear I had a Josh Jacobs.
6:46And so I was going crazy, like looking, where's my Josh Jacobs?
6:50Where's my Josh Jacobs? I was panicking, right? Like most people, you get the news that this guy has all of these
6:57allegations against him in this one event, strangulation, property damage, all these things.
7:01You're like, oh my God. And you're trying to find it.
7:04I was like looking under all the couch cushions, under the bed.
7:08I was like, where? Look, all my pockets. Where is this Josh Jacobs?
7:12And then I was going in transactions. And I was like, oh my God, I traded him.
7:17I traded him. And I was like, when I get back, oh, a first round in 2022.
7:22First and second round. I was like, well, okay then.
7:25I guess that was smart. All the haters, they can eat that.
7:29And if you've been paying attention to this show, watching trade gods, as many of you have, it's a special thing.
7:35Not many people are up and at them early on Sunday morning to go live to talk dynasty trades like the coach and the pod father.
7:43But here we are. And so that, yeah, I think this is just my singular example because these are all real life trades, trades that I'm doing.
7:51Mostly I'm gaining the edge in these deals. Once in a while, history looks back and it says, sorry, pod father, you got the short end here.
8:00And then we have a one or two so far, just one total debacle of a trade.
8:05And then some, when we have some huge windfall trades like this one, if this is, we don't know what's going to happen with Josh Jacobs.
8:13This is a very good chance. He does not face a suspension.
8:16NFL players are getting suspended less. They are letting the whole legal system play out and then charges get dropped.
8:22And then the NFL is like, we don't even know what you're talking about.
8:27Unless this guy's sentenced, then we don't have anything to go on here.
8:31Ooh, nothing to see here. So the NFL is very much in a nothing to see here posture, unlike they were five
8:37years ago where they're getting out ahead, trying to sort of PR these things and almost creating a strizant effect of making it worse.
8:45So I think the NFL sort of found the path of least resistance.
8:49And a trade that was just completed is much more realistic.
8:52So in a league that I'm in with Matty Kiwum, Matty Kiwum receives Chuba Hubbard and Jordan Mason and sends Josh Jacobs.
8:59That was a trade that just happened. I think that is what we're looking at in terms of realistic trades that can get done.
9:06That's a brutal trade. That's just fear street. It's pennies on the dollar and you cannot get that.
9:12What was yesterday's trash? Today's treasure. It's the opposite here.
9:15It's awful. It's really bad. And at best, let's say Josh Jacobs does get to play RB8 in fantasy points per game
9:21two years ago, RB9 at 15.8 fantasy points per game at a precarious age of 28 at the back end of his prime.
9:28How much is that worth up against not just that 27 first, but a 27 second.
9:33So you committed highway robbery and you got your upside cuffs, which I know give you.
9:38Okay, here's a question. Last week I asked you, what gives you more of a rush?
9:43The 27 one and two or the fact that you chiseled the Sean Tucker and Lequan Allen?
9:48Yes. Because we've talked about that trade once before.
9:51So those of you are also like, wait, didn't he do that?
9:55I'm like, yes, you might remember that trade. Coach remembers the trade.
9:58I just don't remember the trade, but it's also a very relevant trade to think back and then go back into the
10:05vault, pull a, pull a trade out from the vault and show it because it has Josh Jacobs in it.
10:11But at the time I didn't, all I knew was Josh Jacobs was well past the age apex and my team was bereft of talent.
10:19And the last thing I'm going to do is try to roll Josh Jacobs out there this year.
10:24And maybe I get one or two picks later in the 2027 draft.
10:28That's all. Oh, congratulations. Look what you've won. You get the 105 instead of the 103 because of Josh Jacobs.
10:34Congratulations. I don't want to be in that situation.
10:37Okay. So I was like, I got to get this guy.
10:40This is a hot potato player. But, but I still, same time I was like, I think I'm going to need LaQuinn Allen.
10:47I'm like, you have Kittle. So why don't I also give you tongs and you give me LaQuinn Allen and we'll call that a deal.
10:55I think, you know, and I probably said some comment, like, I think we're close.
10:59This gets it done. We're close. This gets it done.
11:03And then I'm sure he's like, yeah, I guess I could use tongs in a tight end premium league with George Kittle.
11:09And I probably don't have much use for LaQuinn Allen and I want to get a deal done.
11:15I want to go win this year with Josh Jacobs.
11:18Let's just do it. No one is going to hold back a trade because you want LaQuinn Allen and you want to give them a tight end handcuff.
11:26Every, not most, every dynasty manager is going to say yes to that trade.
11:31If that's it, and Matty Keewum, I trust him.
11:33Matty Keewum is one of the original trade gods, right?
11:36So he knows what he's doing. And if he's willing to let Josh Jacobs go for just Chuba Hubbard and Jordan Mason, then wow.
11:44Wow. The trade I did is looking like a highway robbery and a train heist.
11:48If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That sounds right until you actually do the math.
11:53For most businesses, shipping is that thing. What is it actually costing you?
11:57Because if nobody's questioning it, it's probably costing you way more than it should.
12:01And fortunately, ShipStation makes switching easy and savings are immediate.
12:04Because most businesses are overpaying on shipping without realizing it, ShipStation automatically compares rates across UPS, USPS, and FedEx on every order with savings up to 90%.
12:13That's why over a million businesses have leveled up their shipping game with ShipStation while cutting cost up to 30%.
12:19Everything from order management to inventory and returns is centralized in one platform.
12:23It is built to handle your entire shipping workflow so your team can focus on growth.
12:28And the sooner you switch, the sooner you start saving time and money with ShipStation.

12:37That's ShipStation.com, code PLAYER. This episode is brought to you by Troll Co.
12:41Clothing. And oh, is this one worth it? You know, more than a few people have asked me about Troll Co.
12:47So let me actually tell you about it. I wear their hats, their sweatshirts.
12:51I have for a while now. The quality on both is legitimately good.
12:55The hats hold their shape. The sweatshirts are the kind of heavy that you actually want, not the thin stuff that pills after three washes.
13:03I just like them. The reason I connected with the brand in the first place is the story behind it.
13:09You know the phrase, dirty hands, clean money? It's a blue collar saying that has been around forever.
13:15It's the idea that honest, hard, physical work is how you build a good life.
13:19Troll Co. was started by two guys who came out of the oil patch who could not find any clothing that represented people like them.
13:27So they built it themselves. That is the kind of origin story I respect.
13:31And the product truly backs it up. If you want to check them out, go to TrollCo.com slash profiler.
13:37That is T-R-O-L-L-C-O dot com slash profiler. And use code profiler25 for 25% off your first order.
13:42Let's say this guy wins because he gets, it's the 112 next year.
13:46You are still winning this trade. That's the person will win the league.
13:50So don't get it twisted. You win the league, you pay your next couple of years rank.
13:55But absolutely bad trade. Still a loss of a trade versus what's there.
13:59Because I'm not saying Josh Jacobs with his best would put you over the top to win a championship.
14:05I think the team would already be built enough to win a championship.
14:09So I don't think it's Josh Jacobs pushing this person through.
14:12So this one is a win through and through for you.
14:16Look, we led off last week with you getting toasted.
14:19So hopefully this pulls the people back to the podfather.
14:22How sharp and crafty of a trade god you are.
14:25Again, if you've been following along, trades that we're doing, real savvy.
14:28Last time I checked, I have all of my 2027 firsts.
14:32And a whole bunch of these teams have multiple 2027 firsts.
14:35Many of them are not going to be competitive this year.
14:38And that is also part of the plan. Now, what do you think about the Matty Kiwum trade?
14:44With him just getting back Jordan Mason and Chuba Hubbard?
14:47To me, I would risk keeping Josh Jacobs. I would hold out and hope that he ends up giving me one more season.
14:54And then maybe if the trouble clears, you have an opportunity to sell in season.
14:59If you want to get out from, let's say, Josh Jacobs starts off a month really hot.
15:04I would actually hold off at that point. I think where the friction point where I'm really debating, if I get 227
15:10seconds for Josh Jacobs, I'm thinking very hard about taking those 227 seconds because you've lost around one liquidity at this point.
15:17So I think the volume, the second doesn't get you quite enough.
15:21I think that gets people to hover to hold.
15:24I think what would exchange both ways for people who want to take the risk and guarantee, hopefully in their eyes, Josh Jacobs plays in 2026.
15:31I think 227 seconds makes it happen. But in the streets, though, I'm seeing on Dynasty Daddy, on the trade database, I've
15:38seen plenty of just seconds, single seconds going for Josh Jacobs.
15:42So I think Chuba Hubbard is very light, in my opinion.
15:45I don't love his efficiency. I'm very high on Jonathan Brooks.
15:48So I do, with Maddie's thought process, I'm way out on Jordan Mason.
15:52What do you think? Would you take Chuba Hubbard and Jordan Mason if you're holding Josh Jacobs now with all this knowledge?
15:59You can always trade Josh Jacobs at some point in the season once it's clear, like it was with Rashi Rice at
16:06one point, that the Chargers are going to roll over into the following year and there's not going to be any decisions made until 2027.
16:13At that point, you can then confidently go to a contender and say, Yes.
16:18It's Halloween. Send me these two players that I really like and this pick, this second rounder next year, and I'll give
16:24you Josh Jacobs and you can go win your league.
16:27But there has to be that certainty. To do the trade right now with his maximum uncertainty and negative sentiment around a
16:34player, there's no upside in trading right now. You really should wait.
16:38You should be patient. Now, but again, what gives me pause saying that is that this is Maddie Keywum.
16:43This is the great Maddie Keywum. So I'm very conflicted in the situation where Maddie Keywum is a trade god.
16:50And at the same time, I'm thinking if it were me, I would wait because there is currently the maximum volume of
16:56blood in the streets with Josh Jacobs. And there's probably going to be a better time to do a deal.
17:02It's not like I want to let the 2026 season expire with Josh Jacobs on my roster.
17:08No, no, no, no, no. Just saying this moment, end of May, beginning of June, that is not the right moment to do that deal.
17:15There's a there's a middling part between the Maddie Keywum trade and the trade that you got.
17:20You'll never get the trade that you got a couple weeks ago, but there is going to be a dead cat bounce
17:27opportunity in the event that trouble goes away for Josh Jacobs.
17:30You do risk holding the bag by not offloading for that Chuba and the Jordan Mason in the right now.
17:36But the way I like to play, I like the idea of being a little bit more risky and holding and it sucks sometimes.
17:44But guess what? People who held on to Daniel Jones, there was another bounce out there right now.
17:49People are dealing with that with Deshaun Watson and they're sure as hell dealing with it with Brandon Iuke.
17:55So there's some players who are just burning a hole in your pocket.
17:59Sometimes they're buried at the end of your roster and you're actually better off hoping there's another team out there, another opportunity,
18:06another year out from injury recovery where you get a bounce for that player and you sell at that pop.
18:12But right now, a lot of people would definitively say there's not going to be another pop for him.
18:18So get out for whatever you can get. So I think that's the psychology of what Maddie's got.
18:23I'd also be interested to see does Maddie have DeMond Claiborne?
18:26Does he have Jonathan Brooks? Is he trying to still encapsulate an entire backfield?
18:31Still for me, I would. I'd want Josh Jacobs.
18:33I'd hold in risk holding the bag. That trade does make a hell of a lot more sense if he has Jonathan Brooks.
18:41I think he probably has Jonathan Brooks. I'm going to assume I don't know his roster, but I'm assuming he has Jonathan Brooks.
18:48He's the great Maddie Keewoom. I'm assuming that he has Jonathan Brooks.
18:51Here's another trade up on the screen. This is also a trade that we have discussed in the past, but it needs
18:58to be revisited because this was a single quarterback trade where I was offered the 103 for the 102, but I was
19:05also offered in addition just for this guy to trade up one spot to upgrade from Jordan Tyson to Carnell Tate.
19:11I got the 303 and the 403, and I was like, I'm going to put those picks to good use.
19:17I probably drafted DeMond Claiborne because he's my absolute favorite guy to draft in the third round of Dynasty rookie drafts.
19:23But now we're a month later and this was another, I wanted to go into the vault and take this trade because
19:30at the time, I think we all agreed this was just another one of these trades where I ended up on the winning side.
19:38If you were scoring that way, we have a trade analyzer on player profiler and almost always, we've talked about the few exceptions.
19:45You know, I'm coming out ahead because I'm putting my trades in the trade analyzer, which is part of the Dynasty Deluxe package on player profiler.
19:52And if you don't have it, you really need it because it gives you an edge.
19:57It doesn't just look at the ADPs. It doesn't just look at market sentiment.
20:02We look at all the metrics and all our projections and we give a lifetime value rating that is sometimes very different from the market.
20:09And it's how you can gain real edge in Dynasty leagues.
20:13But also we've seen the projections be updated in the last month, more friendly for the Tennessee Titans, even more friendly for Carnell Tate.
20:20Carnell Tate is rising. Carnell Tate has no target competition of any kind of consequence in Tennessee.
20:25And don't give me Wandale Robinson as if I care about Wandale Robinson.
20:29You've never cared about Wandale Robinson. So don't tell me to care about Wandale Robinson ever.
20:34OK, so this is a deal where if I had to do it again, knowing it is a 10 team league, knowing
20:41that I need top 10 wide receivers to really make a difference, create a super team, make a push.
20:46Carnell Tate is now going in the last two startups that I've been in.
20:51Carnell Tate was drafted ahead of Fernando Mendoza. Now, in one draft, I did it.
20:55I did the drafting of Carnell Tate. And we're actually going to pull that up after this.
21:00We'll pull it up. We'll pull up the startup that I did and show you how that all played out.
21:07But I have noticed. And then in another league I'm in, it's like, oh, look at that there.
21:12This this league is also nothing to do with me.
21:15I wasn't involved in these picks. Someone's grabbing Carnell Tate.
21:18Many picks before Fernando Mendoza. Find this very interesting.
21:21There is a real zeal around Carnell Tate right now.
21:24And it makes perfect sense. If I go to the player profile or dynasty rankings right now, where do you think Carnell Tate is?
21:31Wide receiver 12. We have Carnell Tate as wide receiver nine.
21:35So that's way bullish. That's way bullish. I have him as 12.
21:38So tell me, why should Carnell Tate jump from 12 to nine for you?
21:43Who are those three in the back that he's ahead of?
21:46Well, he's he's ahead of a bunch of players that he comps to for different reasons.
21:51He's just ahead of Tett McMillan. Tett McMillan was also a top 10 pick last year.
21:56He's in a very similar situation to Carnell Tate.
21:58I would argue Carnell Tate is a better quarterback situation than Tett McMillan.
22:02And Carnell Tate does not have the target competition of Jalen Coker.
22:06Carnell Tate has that offense to himself. Again, I don't care about Wondell Robinson because you've never cared about Wondell Robinson.
22:12But Carnell Tate is almost two years younger and was drafted higher.
22:16Carnell Tate was viewed on draft day as a more premium prospect than Tett McMillan.
22:21And as a rookie, did Tett McMillan go out and win leagues for people?
22:25No, he posted a meager 12.4 fantasy points per game.
22:28But the underlying metrics were very impressive. That is true.
22:31But Carnell Tate has him in almost every category of evaluating a player.
22:35Carnell Tate has him. Even this year's projection. Sure, Tett McMillan is projected to score a few more fantasy points than Carnell
22:42Tate is this year, but not that much, right?
22:44And Carnell Tate came from Ohio State, shared the field with a bunch of other high quality, high pedigree players, just like
22:51Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson, who he is also ahead of.
22:54And I've noticed in these startups, people are taking Carnell Tate ahead of Chris Olave, ahead of George Pickens, ahead of Garrett Wilson, ahead of Roma Dunze.
23:03And I'm perfectly fine with it. I agree with it.
23:06I agree with it. And then Jordan Tyson, yes, he is also in a similar ascending offense, right?
23:11Saints and Titans are quietly ascending. On Patreon, patreon.com slash podfather, I posted my top five teams to exploit for all fantasy formats.
23:18And spoiler alert, the Titans and the Saints are both on that list.
23:22And you can go and check it out, support the show, and you'll see exactly why.
23:27At this point, I would not do this trade.
23:30At this point, no thank you. I want all the Carnell Tate, and I'll pull up a startup that I was in
23:37just recently, where you can see just how bullish I am personally.
23:40Not just what's on Player Profiler. Personally, I'm sold.
23:43I'm all in. This is a player I'm putting my chips on.
23:47Because he was super productive, and just imagine, imagine how productive he would have been without one of the greatest wide receiver
23:53prospects of all time sharing the field with him at Ohio State.
23:57Well, take a look at, you have Chris Olave astutely at the 11 there, and I know we're very bullish on him.
24:04And that's what's going to pull between Tate and Jordan Tyson.
24:07You don't have a Chris Olave in Tennessee that's out there with Carnell Tate.
24:11It's not the issue. So you can run 130, 140 target, easy projection.
24:158 to 10 targets a game for Carnell Tate.
24:18That'll be unadulterated. Touchdown equity, all that you could want.
24:21And then think, who's more likely to pull down and run?
24:24It's going to be Tyler Shuck. Cam Ward's going to sit back there.
24:28You're going to get maybe another five pass attempts on average that you can just bank on.
24:34That'll be out there. There's going to be a lot more throw more for the Tennessee Titans.
24:39So yes, Carnell Tate, you want him there. I thought I was bullish with him as wide receiver 12 for me.
24:45But going up to 9, just for context for the audience, behind the core top tier receivers, he's pushing all the way
24:52up against Drake London, who printed wide receiver 1 overall week.
24:55So that's as bullish about as you can get versus consensus versus the industry right there.
25:00When you're done with all your rookie drafts and startups this year, if you subscribe to Player Profiler, you're going to have a lot of Carnell Tate.
25:08And you're welcome. You also have a lot of Cam Ward.
25:12The Cam Ward, Carnell Tate stacks are what I live for.
25:15I wasn't able to get it in this particular startup.
25:18So we go to the startup. Here it is.
25:21Okay. I was drafting from the 110. This is a half PPR, non-tight end premium league.
25:26So you'll see no tight ends in the first five picks.
25:29I started at the 110 with Ashton Gentry. At the 203, couldn't help it.
25:33Jeremiah Love finally got my Jeremiah Love. Then at the 310, at the 310, we have Carnell Tate.
25:39Carnell Tate at the 310. And then it goes Igbuka, Roma Dunze, George Pickens, Garrett Wilson, back to back to back to back.
25:46I was tempted to go Chris Olave next. I was tempted to double tap wide receiver.
25:51Again, the big reason why I have Carnell Tate now so far ahead of Jordan Tyson is because Carnell Tate does not have a Chris Olave problem.
25:59Right. And I really want Chris Olave. That was very tempting.
26:02But, but, but, but, but this was another situation where I was like, Fernando Mendoza is on the board.
26:08This is a super flex draft. Coach, the best time to get quarterbacks in super flex is in the startup.
26:14I mean, this shows you in any given rookie draft, super flex, 2QB rookie draft, Fernando Mendoza is the 102 each and every time.
26:22Because there is a real appreciation for the scarcity of the quarterback position.
26:25In a startup, even people that are in lots of leagues and lots of super flex leagues, it's just very difficult to
26:32fully process the scarcity of the quarterback position. And you just, you look down, you're like, I'm not, I'm going to, I'm going to pass on Mendoza here.
26:41I know I'm probably going after him if it's a rookie draft, but for whatever reason, because there's plenty of quarterbacks, I
26:47feel like I can finesse later in the startup.
26:50I'm going to punt the position. I'm going to wait one more round.
26:54I can wait one more round. I can get away with one more round.
26:58I can still look at how good. There's a bunch of guys I can talk myself into.
27:04I can talk myself into Baker Mayfield, Daniel Jones.
27:06I can talk myself into all these guys. I don't need Fernando Mendoza.
27:10I can wait one more round. That's what happens.
27:13That's how Carnell Tate ends up going ahead of Fernando Mendoza.
27:16Now in this particular draft, I looked at the other teams and I saw the other teams had a quarterback already.
27:23And I knew we're in the market for wide receiver, especially team 12, right?
27:27Team 12 needed a wide receiver. And I thought for sure this person was going to go wide receiver.
27:33I thought there is a higher likelihood Carnell Tate goes in the next four picks than Mendoza.
27:38So I used game theory to go Tate before Mendoza ended up getting both of them.
27:43This is a team that is designed to compete and win in 2027.
27:47I went Gentie, Love, Carnell Tate, Fernando Mendoza, Tyler Shuck, Dak Prescott.
27:51Dak Prescott somehow made it to me at the 603 in super flex.
27:55Yeah, perpetually being able to get Dak Prescott as a quarterback too in these middling rounds has been a cheat code the last couple of years.
28:02And I see it has not changed. And what's funny about it is everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
28:10Mike Tyson. In the rookie drafts, you have plenty of opportunity where, hey, it's narrow.
28:14It's just the rookies. But the version of getting punched in the mouth is now you have these rookies in betwixt all the veteran players.
28:22And then the values change because, hey, it's Ashton Janty versus Jeremiah Love, who, of course, he got both, which I love.
28:29Let's not gloss over that. I love doing that.
28:31I did that in a mock before and it worked out beautifully for the build.
28:36You were able to apply it in a real draft.
28:39Real life. And then the way the quarterbacks go, the person who had, I think it was the person was at 110 or 108.
28:46They went double tap quarterback. The beauty is they're going to go to different positional allocations.
28:51So you can read the board. That's exactly what you did.
28:55You read the board at what the 112 had and it helped you.
28:59Now, hindsight question. You ended up with Shuck and Dak Prescott.
29:02Is there a part of you that wishes you didn't go Fernando Mendoza, went Chris Olave because a board could have given
29:09you Shuck, Prescott, and then you would have had two top 12 wide receivers, two top five running backs in Dynasty?
29:15Because if you look at our ranks three and four, Chanty and Love respectively, is there any bit of you that if
29:22you could rearrange the board, just one ripple effect, would you take Mendoza off the board if you could put Olave in there right now?
29:29Or would you keep with Mendoza? I had no idea I was going to get Dak Prescott.
29:35Yeah. So, yeah, if I knew I was going to get Dak Prescott, I would have done things differently.
29:40I could have gone. I could have easily. Yes.
29:43But I didn't know. And a lot of the teams that were snaking back around needed a quarterback.
29:49One of the other nice things about doing what I did was then I trigger.
29:53I was the first to go with the third quarterback, Dak Prescott.
29:57And then that triggers panic buying and panic drafting of the quarterback position.
30:01In the picks that follow, you're seeing a lot of people now start to reach on quarterback.
30:06There goes Goff. There goes Mayfield. There goes Stroud.
30:09Right? So you saw that happen. And so that was also part of me taking control of the draft was being the first to draft that third quarterback.
30:17So there's some nice things about it. I was drafting Dak Prescott because, yeah, sure, I might not be thinking about this year as much.
30:25I'm hoping to maximize my draft capital in the 2027 rookie draft and then go compete like hell.
30:30Dak Prescott is going to be a top quarterback next year.
30:34And he's going to be a top quarterback the year after.
30:37And we have it up on the screen. I mean, he's talked about playing until he's 40.
30:42We're in a post Andrew Luck time where quarterbacks can at any moment just decide I'm done.
30:47I'm done rehabbing shoulders and calves and knees and all these things and hips.
30:52And I'm just sick of not being able to get out of bed in the morning.
30:57And I've made millions, hundreds of millions of dollars.
30:59And I'm done. I'm done. That's what prevents most of these quarterbacks from getting and playing to age 40.
31:05But if they want to, even Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers is not Mr.
31:09I love football. In fact, he's far from his Mr.
31:12Zen. He's like, I try to get away from football as much as possible.
31:16And I try to practice football at a bare minimum.
31:19I'm only going to show up to practice when it's absolutely required.
31:23I'm not even going to sign until the last possible instant.
31:26And he's had to recover from ruptured Achilles and all these injuries.
31:30And yet still, even him with that mindset, he's back for one more job, one more job, age 39, age 40, age 41.
31:37That's the type of quarterback that Dak Prescott is.
31:40That's the type of quarterback that Patrick Mahomes is.
31:43Because in another startup, I got Patrick Mahomes as my quarterback late, right?
31:47I know people are saying, I can't believe how late you got Dak.
31:50That's a steal. Yeah, it is a steal. And yeah, it's kind of crazy.
31:55But I also have seen the exact same thing play out with Patrick Mahomes, where I'm like, Patrick Mahomes is not a
32:01player that you would avoid based on age. This is an unbelievable situation for Dak Prescott this year.
32:07And then also for Patrick Mahomes, you're getting an elite talent, sometimes a full round later in a startup, just because he
32:14might miss one or two games to start the season.
32:17That's not, that's not logical. Yeah, Patrick Mahomes has had something like seven 4,000 yard passing seasons to 5,000 yard passing seasons.
32:23Last year, it was something like 3,500 passing yards and he, oh yeah, you know, missed three games.
32:29So he probably would have eclipsed another 4,000 yards passing season.
32:32Another point to make is on one end of the spectrum, hey, I've made my millions.
32:37I'm out. But kind of going back to the fighter mentality, there's always another fight out there.
32:42There's always another contract out there. Look at what Kirk Cousins has managed.
32:46Look at, hey, can I chisel if you're Aaron Rodgers, can I chisel another $20 million for another year out there?
32:53That's good work if you can get it. It's honest work.
32:56So these quarterbacks are going to have life cycles of 35 to 40, where there's no thought whatsoever to retiring.
33:02And then push 40 to 45. Look, Tom Brady did it.
33:06The modern athlete is always going to push for more, get more efficient.
33:09God, look at what people are doing with peptides out there today.
33:13Look at what they're doing with their nutrition, how they're recovering from injury.
33:17You know about it, Podfather. With your shoulder, you've got different angles that you can take.
33:22It's not all over for you. Just a modern person is trying to extend the lifeblood, the lifeline of their prime.
33:28So with these quarterbacks, when the money is great as well, the incentive is there to a degree.
33:34Because remember, it used to be about 35. 35, you'd say, all right, how much longer is this guy going to play?
33:41And of course, 40 seems out of the picture.
33:43But now you're getting quarterbacks in this dynasty streets to take it back.
33:47You're 30 and 31. It's not, hey, this guy's going to retire in just a couple seasons.
33:52It's I expect him to play the next decade shy of a crippling injury that would really keep them off the field
33:59where they don't even have a choice. So yeah, a 24-year-old quarterback and a 31-year-old quarterback, there's less of a chasm between those two.
34:06I think that it's very difficult to let Mendoza get by you in Superflex and 2QB leagues.
34:12I mean, we're talking about a guy that is going to be able to set it and forget it starter.
34:18I already had Brock Bowers. So I also, you know, in another startup, I have Mendoza and Bowers.
34:23And in this startup that I talked about previously, I started with Gentee.
34:27So I have Gentee and Mendoza. So in both situations, it feels great.
34:31It feels great to have Mendoza knowing that this is a face of the franchise, one of the more bust-proof quarterbacks to come along.
34:38Again, talk about Andrew Luck. Fernando Mendoza is Andrew Luck level bust-proof at this point.
34:43And Andrew Luck was never on the cover of GQ.
34:46Now I will say, I would stay with the exact draft picks I've made, including drafting Mendoza over Olave if I get
34:53the wide receiver I want with my next pick.
34:56With my next pick, had I not gone Mendoza and I had gone and I drafted Chris Olave in the fourth round, I would be going quarterback here.
35:04I would be going quarterback here. I would be thinking about Ty Simpson.
35:08I would be thinking about CJ Stroud's already gone.
35:11I'd be thinking about potentially even Daniel Jones. I think Daniel Jones, if he proves himself and is productive and relatively efficient
35:18with those receivers, Alec Pierce, Josh Downs, Tyler Warren, this is not above average wide receiver core in the NFL.
35:24It's below average. So if he can do well, if he can sustain drives with that receiving core, I think he earns another contract in Indianapolis.
35:32And so I would probably be looking at a guy like Daniel Jones and much prefer in Dynasty to have Fernando Mendoza over Daniel Jones.
35:39It's such a huge difference. Even Fernando Mendoza versus Ty Simpson.
35:43Got to wait a year. This is a team where I am preparing to wait a year to be fully competitive.
35:49So Ty Simpson would also make a lot of sense on this roster.
35:53But again, I didn't know Dak Prescott would be there.
35:56I am looking for one particular wide receiver on the way back around.
36:00And again, I will demonstrate my loyalty to the show.
36:03My loyalty is to the Player Profiler podcast, to trade gods, to this audience.
36:07It is not to these fantasy teams. These fantasy teams are very much a basis for content for the show.
36:13And there are people in this draft room that listen to the show.
36:17That's the reason why I'm in the draft in the first place is people were listening to the show.
36:23They said, hey, Podfather, podfather at rotowonderworld.com. Email me.
36:26Be in my startup. Be in my league. Take over an orphan.
36:29Don't have to pay year one. Great. Sure. Why not?
36:33Yeah. We'll see what we can do. Okay. So the player that I would feel best about if he makes it to
36:39me, and we're talking 11 picks away based on ADP, I'm going to get him.
36:44But there's a lot of Josh Jacobs, Devante Adams, old dusty players that are above the player I want in the ADP.
36:51And so I think that there's probably a 25% chance he makes it to me.
36:55But if Christian Watson is there, if I can get Christian Watson, then I wouldn't change a thing.
37:01If it turns out that I am still able to get Christian Watson, have my cake and eat it too.
37:07Yum, yum, yum. Dak Prescott and Fernando Mendoza and Christian Watson all on one team.
37:11That would be the dream scenario. And we talked about this pre-show, how he's kind of like a firewall wide receiver to Christian Watson.
37:19I had this situation in a campus to Canton league on the NFL side where I went dart in May.
37:25It was May was my first pick. Went Jackson dart.
37:28Then I double tapped running back. It was Chase Brown, Brees Hall.
37:31My first wide receiver ended up being Tee Higgins.
37:34He was my firewall receiver. But then again, it's like, okay, it's okay with Tee Higgins.
37:39But as you get deeper, who's your wide receiver two?
37:42Who's your wide receiver three or the flex? That's where you start paying the piper.
37:47And Christian Watson, I feel very comfortable and was very happy to click that button.
37:51That's right. So now we have another trade here.
37:54Another trade, another trade. This is from the chat.
37:57Please, by all means, everyone put trades in the chat.
38:00If you are listening live on YouTube, on Twitter, Facebook, put the trades in the chat, baby needed a running back.
38:06So this person traded Bowers for Judkins and Goddard.
38:09This is super flex, non-tight end premium, non-tight end premium, non-tight end premium.
38:13How do you feel about that? I still want Brock Bowers.
38:16I still think that Brock Bowers ends up there because you can get 140, 150 targets pace for Brock Bowers if he goes back to his rookie season.
38:25I think that's going to outweigh because you're going to have Brock Bowers being worth a wide receiver's value at the tight
38:31end spot still, even without the premium. I love Quinshawn Judkins this year.
38:35Dallas Goddard is a throwaway. So give me Quinshawn Judkins.
38:38You want Judkins? Oh, sorry. Give me Brock Bowers.
38:41Okay. See, everybody mistakes happen. Yeah. Right? Mistakes happen.
38:44I don't think I would have done this trade.
38:47This is one of those things. I mean, Brock Bowers is a player just like Carnell Tate that you have to pry from my cold dead hands.
38:55That's the way. I mean, you can get him.
38:58It's going to have to be the godfather of all godfather offers because this is a player I can just set it
39:04and forget it at tight end for the next 10 years.
39:08And then I can focus all of my energy on the other positions.
39:12That's also just a weight off of you mentally and emotionally when you're managing your team.
39:17Like that just simplifies your life to have Bowers in there.
39:20So I even feel that way about having a Tyler Warren.
39:23That very much saves. I'll never have to worry about my tight end.
39:27That's a nice luxury to have. If you have Sadiq, that's not a reason to trade Bowers.
39:32This is some faulty logic that sometimes happens where, okay, I'm getting a player to replace player X, right?
39:38I just drafted Jeremiah Love. So that means I can let go of Ashton Gentry.
39:43Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
39:46Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Not necessarily or something more like, oh, I just draft with this.
39:50In this case, this would be more like I just drafted Jaderion Price.
39:54Yeah. And I can get rid of Ashton Gentry, right?
39:57Like I just did a startup where I wanted Love and Gentry on the same team.
40:02Like you don't want to let Gentry or Love go.
40:05But if we want to have a comp, that would be more like, well, it's OK to let Gentry go because I got Jaderion Price.
40:13not necessarily let's we have we have a ways to go to see what sadique is going to be what jadarian price
40:20is going to be why don't you sell the upside of sadique if you want to get judkins you should sell the
40:26upside of sadique find a way to do a deal involving sadique for judkins that would be the way and if you've
40:33seen this you've sometimes you have a pestering dynasty manager keeps coming back to you keeps rejecting and coming back to you
40:40trying to get bowers trying to get bowers just shut it down i just i have unlimited patience with these people i
40:47just keep sending them counter offers counter counter counter pulling out bowers and doing the trade i want to do and then
40:53so then it becomes like a a contest who has more trade stamina right who has more trade talk stamina and we
41:00just keep going back and forth back and forth back and forth and then usually i win that and i win by
41:07just being the i win by and winning's not getting a trade done winning is my trade was the last trade rejected
41:13that's winning to me you've built that stamina from riding your bicycle matt so that's right it pays off yes and yeah
41:20you could have gone a lot of ways with how i built that stamina so thanks for just going with bicycle there
41:27appreciate it oh yeah it's a friendly show so yeah let's uh let's let's let's put this this this next startup up
41:33on the board because if we're talking brock bowers we're talking podfather drafting brock bowers in tight end super premium it was
41:40uh 1.0 ppr for running backs wide receivers 2.0 ppr for tight ends so the super premium on the tight end receptions
41:47brock bowers goes at the 103 to the podfather that's beautiful you get what 150 target ceiling maybe 160 target ceiling for
41:54brock bowers tyler warren 112 targets last year ideally he can get up to 120 maybe 130 of course with that receiver
42:00room losing michael pittman jr hopefully there's more opportunity for tyler warren so what made you go back to back with quarterback
42:07in mahomes granted we know the answer for mahomes he fell to you and at the 3-9 great value there like walmart
42:14and then fernando mendoza what gets you to double tap quarterback in that scenario to leave off the running back and receiver
42:20position to round five just to just to clarify it went josh allen bjohn robinson drake may so it was the 101
42:27was josh allen as he always is then it was bjohn then it was drake may then it was brock bowers so
42:34i got brock bowers at the 104 came back around at the 209 took tyler warren so i double tapped the tight
42:41end position because i couldn't believe it i mean loveland went at the one two turn and then i just kept expecting
42:47warren to go and he wasn't going and i was like listen if you guys aren't going to take warren i'm going
42:54to take him now i would have preferred justin herbert but he went two picks before and i think we're one of
43:01the few shops that has herbert over joe burrow in dynasty i mean we are all in on justin herbert and the
43:07chargers i mean if you've been following us on social media if you're on patreon we are substack you're on substack we're
43:14on substack too check us out where you can get our newsletter for free every week on substack and i'm also posting
43:21these uh you know top five lists top 10 lists every week bowers warren to kick it off i mean the the
43:27uh tight end onslaught to just just take this league and turn it upside down cody was in my ear about this
43:34he was like you just fucked the league you just fucked it right how does it feel right taking this league on
43:41and i was like i know man i know i i i i just i just dumped the entire apple cart over
43:48i'm sure everyone's pissed i mean there no no people were restrained enough not to go to the chat and be like
43:54this is unfair this is bullshit and it's like listen you it's not my fault you guys have these rules right so
44:01you you gotta deal with it so now because i have two of these guys and there's you know multiple flex positions
44:08i'm gonna be playing browers and warren every week warren is a much better play in this format than a guy like
44:14zay flowers who is great for ppr but if it's you know double double bonus for tight ends then a guy like
44:21tyler warren's gonna blow away guys like that and we'll talk about a trade involving zay flowers in a minute because i
44:28love zay flowers and i did a zay flowers deal that i'm very proud of uh and we'll talk about that in
44:35a minute but to me it the beauty is i get warren and my competitors can't right they someone someone is filling
44:41their tight end position with i mean at best the tight end 13 but if more people do this strategy then there's
44:48gonna be people out there starting like the tight end 15 the tight end 16 as their tight end in a tight
44:55end super premium league and that's a huge disadvantage so that's that's that's taking control of the draft so i felt good
45:01about that just like in the other draft i took control by being the first to go three quarterbacks here i took
45:08control by grabbing two of the top four tight ends uh in the tight end super premium and then it came all
45:15the way back around to me it was third round reversal so instead of picking quickly in the third round with the
45:22303 i had to wait and draft at the 309 or you know it was so it was like uh i was
45:28panicking about what i was going to get and then somehow some way it goes jonathan taylor and james cook and then
45:35i was able to draft patrick mahomes again this is not a team like this is a young team bowers and warren
45:42are not even 25 yet and i had planned to also have a similar structure with this team and a similar strategy
45:48and timeline where i'm like hey i'm going to be competitive i'm going to try to set up a super team to
45:55start winning in 2027 then patrick mahomes lands on my lap and i'm like this kind of fits with that actually like
46:02he is going to be productive next year the year after the year after the year after he's always going to be
46:08a threat to smash 20 fantasy points per game and maybe this is a year where he he underperforms because he's not
46:15playing in the first couple weeks and then he's going to be playing with a knee and a leg that's just not
46:22100 strong and flexible throughout the season so he's not gonna be able to push off as well be a little more
46:29reluctant to run so again this is another team that's very much teed up with patrick mahomes at age 30 for the
46:35the 2027 season hey think about how much shit happened in the last 10 years now think about how much shit will
46:42happen in your life in the next 10 years as patrick mahomes he's going to play another 10 years so if i
46:49had to make a bet right now over under 10.5 nfl seasons for patrick mahomes i'd bet the over and i would
46:55actually push he'd go 10 to 15 that's a mindset we already covered this with the quarterbacks and good job on you
47:02yanking the steering wheel essentially what you did with tyler warren because it it causes a waterfall effect in your league that's
47:09very important to do when you can gain the leverage and it forces other people forces their hand it probably allowed you
47:16to go with somebody like patrick mahomes and right now it seems like a generational buying opportunity on patrick mahomes because you're
47:22not you're getting the debt in the can where he's a back-end quarterback one borderline early qb2 in some of these startups
47:29when you really should be getting him closer to qb6 qb7 in our rankings we have them seven which i think that
47:36puts patrick mahomes that puts the respect back on his name up about five spots from consensus yeah i mean i would
47:42have been happy to also go uh herbert mahomes would have been great too i mean what an unbelievable start if i
47:49had gone a bowers herbert mahomes fantastic but you know i would bully titan instead and then with my fourth pick came
47:56back around quickly and then i was happy to get fernando mendoza again uh carnell tate went ahead of him and i
48:03was like there we go uh i'm i have oh man i have a ton of fernando mendoza right i know you
48:09know that i have a lot of trevor h and etn i have a lot of laquint allen i have a lot
48:16of jarquez hunter a lot of taj brooks i mean i'm overloaded on on particular running backs right but i'm also strangely
48:23it just happened to be the way that a lot of these orphans a lot of these orphans were teams that were
48:29gunning for the 101 didn't get the 101 but ended up with the 102 and abandoning their team and so i ended
48:36up just with a lot of super flex teams with the 102 and i just have a lot of a lot of
48:43mendoza i ended up getting mendoza at the 104 randomly in one of these super flex drafts which was very strange and
48:49i was happy to be there and happy to get him i traded up one one slot to get him we talked
48:56about that previously uh but that's that's just a i can tell you if fernando mendoza is a bust like at the
49:03second half of the year if he looks out of his depth and like if he could he's like you know rams
49:10jared goff right that's probably his floor right is rams jared goff that would be worst case scenario for fernando mendoza still
49:16could have a second life somewhere else just like baker mayfield just like you know many others sam darnold but it would
49:23be painful like if this is early if he plays like early career jared goff that's gonna be very very painful for
49:30me so let's all just pray let's all just lock arms and pray that doesn't happen we need mendoza man we need
49:36mendoza for my for my self-esteem with all this with all these teams i'm gonna feel so i'm gonna be like i'm
49:43gonna be miserable oh my god if it doesn't work out well on one end if jalen coker kills you in in
49:50shits the bed it's not gonna break your teams it's not gonna break your portfolio fernando mendoza you would absolutely feel it
49:57are you ready for a mega trade yes give to him are you ready most people don't realize how much their personal

51:51an extra 35 off with promo code yum at checkout terms apply see site for details this was the biggest trade i've
51:57ever done even bigger than like trading lamar jackson and super flex right i traded lamar jackson and the 103 which became
52:04carnell tate that was a massive deal this deal doesn't have quite as much value in it on either side but there's
52:11more players it's much more blockbuster-y this particular trade so here it is i'm sending to ryan mcdowell from dynasty league football
52:17Tyreek Hill aaron jones tony pollard justice hill jordan love basial tootin travis hunter i am getting in return damian pierce zach
52:24charbonnet devon vele raheem sanders ollie gordon caleb johnson efton chisholm a 2027 first a 2027 third a 2028 first and a
52:312028 second that is what's happening you really gave away jordan love this trade comes down to he's getting a quarterback without
52:38giving a quarterback he's getting jordan love if you buy into basil tootin there's some of that upside there for ryan tony
52:44pollard looks to have some life post nfl draft but it's a lot of nothing like aaron jones is inconsequential tyree kill
52:51i don't even know if he's going to play this season he's on the downward trajectory of his career travis hunter for
52:58ryan mcdowell that's the absolute wild card and i know we discussed how that was a throw in that was needed but
53:04you getting a 27 first 28 first really moves it for you the needle where you gave a quarterback you didn't get
53:11one but those are huge valuable picks and you're getting bulk in the 27 third 28 second i assume you have all
53:18your 27 picks already so you're accumulating there for next year of course and then you got just the roulette of rb
53:24handcuffs caleb johnson can we get a trade to green bay all these highlights just send them over to green bay while
53:31we have this josh jacobs issue that's a player that i would have my eye on is caleb johnson you had spoke
53:38to you think he's being featured on the social media pages because caleb johnson is doing well i posit that we might
53:45be able to generate a little bit of a trade buzz for him in year two it can be the rico daddle
53:51show but uh tell me how do you feel about the ollie gordons the the johnsons what's your psychology here how do
53:58you do you feel bad at all about giving up jordan love or are you just happy to get these picks and
54:05get out yeah i will i can first explain how this ended up coming to fruition where i uh put jordan love
54:11on the block and let let you know the the league know that jordan love was available because this is a complete
54:18teardown team right this is a team that had bryce young i had michael penix and i had just drafted fernando mendoza
54:25and so i was like okay well i've got three quarterbacks now i don't necessarily need jordan love jordan love is not
54:32necessarily going to be the quarterback in a couple years like i am i'm playing for two years from now and i'm
54:38not even 100 sure that jordan love is going to be the quarterback in green bay in two years like he this
54:45is one of the like this is very much like trevor lawrence last year where we need to see growth and development
54:52uh and i think we will uh but it's it's not a lock this is not patrick mahomes right in terms of
54:58level of certainty and in what you're going to be getting from him you know two three years from now so i
55:05was like okay i i have about as much confidence in jordan love as i do and a guy like uh bryce
55:12young right being the quarterback in two years somewhere in the league so i was like i'll just stick with that and
55:19i know mendoza is my cornerstone quarterback and that pushes love into my qb2 and in super flex and two qb leagues
55:25your qb2 is always expendable especially if you have other quarterbacks waiting in the wings uh in terms of bench depth and
55:32so jordan loves the perfect qb2 that you can deal it is difficult to do a deal if you're not going to
55:39get a quarterback in return you have to ask for a lot and most of the time you ask for a lot
55:45and the other team is going to balk you start talking about two first rounders their team is going to balk but
55:52ryan mcdowell has a super team these are going to be late picks this is a late first is a late first
55:59in in 2027 depending on how his team plays out i mean there could be massive injuries and disappointments and the 2028
56:05pick is not that late that's part of the gamble of this trade and in putting it together it didn't originally contain
56:12tootin and hunter so he basically was like hey i'll take a love off your hands i'll give you a first rounder
56:19in 2027 and you know a second in 2028 i don't remember exactly the configuration of the deal but it at first
56:26it did not include tootin and hunter and so basically what ended up happening was i rejected i countered i said okay
56:32uh you know i'm gonna need a little bit more and so he's like all right so i need to right and
56:39i'm like okay uh if i want so i rejected the first offer i was like hey i need two firsts for
56:46this like jordan love is worth two firsts and i think we can get a deal done but i'm and i'm willing
56:52to add more to get to the two firsts even though they're they're projected to be late i'm willing to do it
56:59so he sends back a trade with tootin involved in two firsts and i'm like okay we now have the basic structure
57:06of a deal right and i'm like if we're gonna do this then i need to include zach charbonnet because he's the
57:13perfect player for a rebuilding team he's not going to really help you much this year maybe in the playoffs but i'm
57:19not even banking on that he's not gonna be 100 when he comes back so this is very much a play for
57:262027 zach charbonnet is an all purpose back and he's currently projected to be the starting running back for the super bowl
57:33champions with one of the best run games in the league for the full season of 2027 a lot can happen between
57:39now and then they can add players in free agency they can draft running backs they just did draft a running back
57:46in jerry and price but jerry and price has to go out and seize that job and show that he has the
57:53all-purpose skills of zach charbonnet and i very much doubt that so i like getting charbonnet especially for this team build and
58:00he's like well if you want charbonnet then you're gonna have to i'm gonna have to get hunter and then it just
58:06was starting to spiral and a lot of deals go poof at this moment yes when you start escalating and you start
58:13trying to add another player and add another player add another player now it's a five for five now it's a six
58:20for six now it's a seven for seven you'd be very careful not to ask for too much and scare away your
58:26customer i knew who i was dealing with this was ryan mcdowell this is a veteran he is not going to get
58:33cold feet because the trade is just too big for him to get his arms around and that can happen so you
58:40need to know who you're dealing with it if it was not ryan mcdowell i might i might have just accepted the
58:46offer including travis hunter and zach charbonnet but i was like you know what he's a businessman and i think i can
58:53go up from a 20 28 third and say basically hey if you want travis hunter make this 20 28 third a
59:0020 28 second and we have a deal and he did it and that's how a deal got done but it was
59:07treacherous along the way i really wanted it to happen i really wanted to be fully loaded with picks in both 20
59:1327 and 20 28 now i am and i also wanted a bunch of these players i think veille is interesting i'm
59:20all in on all the saints including veille and oscar delp everybody everybody veille is the third receiver on a team that's
59:27gonna be running more 11 personnel than a lot of these other teams around the league that have already locked up like
59:33three tight ends that they want to see the field a lot raheem sanders is interesting he's an injury away from having
59:40a role in cleveland caleb johnson you mentioned is the complete wild card and i don't think ryan wanted to give him
59:47up ryan knows there is real upside if there's if this is just a situation with like with jalen noel caleb johnson
59:54these are players that admittedly struggled with the playbook in year one if they can just get the their mental processing and
60:00their assignments to be more internalized on the football field in 2026 that that's when the light comes on so we could
60:07have a light come on situation for caleb johnson why wouldn't we like it makes sense he was a complete dominant force
60:14in college and was a day two pick and was very well regarded very high pedigree prospect especially when you compare him
60:20to like how scouts viewed caleb johnson was a level above in terms of quality from janarian price even like he would
60:27have been the clear rb2 in his class and caleb johnson came out this year and ryan mcdowell knew that so he
60:34was saying hey listen you want caleb johnson i got to get i got to get basial tootin you want zach schraubin
60:40i got to get travis hunter and it escalated and escalated but it it wouldn't have escalated past this point i needed
60:47to just put something out there that was very easy to accept a very nominal upgrade 2028 third to a second that
60:54will certainly look better and better as as the months go along but it was palatable and it happened and so that's
61:01for my build this is what i want i got rid of all these old players they have some value to him
61:07he's going for a championship aaron jones tyree kill have no value to me so and i and i also got out
61:14of a player in basial tootin who could go any way this year like he could break out or he could be
61:21a big boston and i i got to offload all that risk and just have all you know all upside all contingent
61:27upside players and and there's also no risk for charbonnet charbonnet is quietly kind of a stable asset because he can't ruin
61:34his value at all this year like even if he has a setback it's just gonna be oh well his injury had
61:41to go in for revision surgery and he's gonna be 100 by training camp of 2027 that's all anyone would want anyway
61:48at any time you can pull off an 11 for 7 trade you do it in dynasty football i commend both of
61:54you for pushing this through seeing it through they're really we'll push it for ryan and this is gonna be fun okay
62:01we watch a trade with how we let off the show with josh jacobs just a couple weeks later in a matter
62:08of months it'll be very much fun to see how this trade plays out for the both of you because if basil
62:14tootin really hits this is a good win a very good trade for ryan mcdowell but on your end right now as
62:21it sits you're really offloading jordan love the quarterback getting those picks back and all the ancillary pieces it's kind of like
62:28uh de niro and pacino and the heat scene where they're just going back and forth and you're just throwing the charbonnet
62:35he's thrown you know you're throwing in the travis hunter all those pivots back and forth it is kind of funny as
62:41you were relaying the caleb johnson part you do kind of get this thing where dynasty gamers get quiet on the other
62:48end in the trade they don't really volunteer this player they'll say hey look we're adopting puppies and they'll show you everybody
62:55but the one that you might want in the pack that's so right yeah he put ollie gordon out there right away
63:01he's like here's ollie gordon here's what you need here's the red meat for this deal we i know you're into guys
63:08like ollie gordon and i'm like yeah but i'm also into guys like caleb johnson yeah yep and in push comes to
63:15shove that's where you have to be willing to you first it's you commend ryan for you know playing around and seeing
63:21if you could circle around it and because you want to have your cake and eat it too but if you can't
63:28have your cake and eat it too well you might as well get a deal done yeah he's like uh you want
63:35zach charbonnet i'm gonna need this guy oh you want caleb johnson i'm gonna need this guy oh you want another second
63:42rounder i'm gonna need this guy and then at the end i was like all right sure it's just gonna be a
63:48very fun league to follow now there was one other element which was remember the deal i did previously the big mega
63:55blockbuster involving lamar jackson the pick that became carnell tate where i got the multiple first rounders 2027 2028 but i also
64:02uh in that trade with dynasty rich from dynasty nerds i ended up getting the 109 and that also relates to this
64:08trade in that guess who i selected with the 109 which is the guy that i think is the slam dunk 109
64:15pick in super flex this year are you talking you trying to talk about ty simpson i am so it also was
64:22nice that as this trade was happening i was uh in line to get ty simpson but i wasn't sure it was
64:29going to happen but i just took i took the chance so now i do have i technically have four quarterbacks i
64:35have perfect players that you want if you're trying to compete in 2027 and beyond and then i also have bryce young
64:42and michael penix and michael penix is just at this point a lottery ticket it's just like anything you i get from
64:49him is a bonus well you have the opportunity to start penix and bryce young from the jump wait for fernando mendoza
64:55and then you feel less bad offloading a jordan love who is a right now pc he could very well pay off
65:02big time and he will he will put points in for ryan mcdowell's team but you have the afforded opportunity funny enough
65:09with bryce young and penix to let the opportunity wait for somebody like a ty simpson wait for what do you think
65:16it's five weeks six weeks when you think fernando mendoza i think that's the other elephant in the room when does mendoza
65:22start in 2026 the later the better for me because i want the 101 there you go all right the later the
65:29best so i don't care i mean for me i'm most of these teams where i have mendoza admittedly i'm not going
65:36to compete this year anyway so i'm happy to have him not start until week 13 that's not going to happen though
65:42with our projections talking to evan about it our our analytics guru we think it's going to be like nine and eight
65:49right nine games for mendoza eight games for cousins it's going to be right on that right on that borderline the the
65:56schedule they're not gonna get to the bye week we've looked at the schedule there's just too many elite defenses and shootouts
66:02on that schedule and it's just not going to happen there's no way i mean they're playing just it's brutal right they
66:09need any the chargers twice the chiefs twice i mean it's just well denver twice it's just just in the division is
66:16brutal much less get when you get out of the division and the beauty is once you have bryce young on by
66:23or penix on by and neither mendoza or simpson are starting you can plug raheem sanders or ollie gordon into that flex
66:29spot i mean we'll see i mean it would be it would be nice oh oh yeah the raiders also they play
66:36they cross against the nfc west which means they also play the seahawks and they play the rams and they play the
66:43bills and they play the patriots it's crazy they cross against the afc east and the nfc west it's a it's it's
66:49it's a complete brutalization and kurt cousins is not getting any more mobile back there and that offensive line getting better better
66:56coaching some upgraded players but i mean to actually expect kurt cousin to survive kurt cousins you know again well week nine
67:03is like i think being bullish on cousins well and think about that receiver room jaylen nailer trey tucker it's a really
67:10tough scene jack batch the the depth the fact that they didn't get any receivers i thought was crazy look we know
67:16they're gonna the drum beat for mendoza is gonna be deafening by like week five yeah so just just know that just
67:23know that in theory yes if we were trying to map out the the most ideal scenario for fernando mendoza's development yes
67:30we probably wait until the bye week week 13 but that's not how it works in real life you have edge rushers
67:36trying to destroy kirk cousins livelihood and you have a fan base and a locker room that wants to be as competitive
67:43as possible so there's a lot of forces at play it's not just hey what's the optimal development curve for fernando mendoza
67:50it's this this isn't this isn't tennis or golf right this is football this is a team sport this may be the
67:56last opportunity for kurt cousins in the business hall of fame for the contract that he drew from the raiders he's going
68:03to be focusing on great clips and coals endorsements and contracts going out from here because fernando mendoza eventually is going to
68:10like you say he's going to take over their drum beat is going to be too strong good money if you can
68:17get it kirk cousins congratulations bud speaking of drum beat here we go in the same league the same league during the
68:23rookie draft no picks were exchanged but i did give up bucky irving and ryan florinoy and i got back zay flowers
68:30and la quint allen is that good yeah i love this for you zay flowers and look even if bucky irving is
68:37all right with his shoulder and there's a long-term play you're going to splice that backfield off with sean tucker and even
68:43if you don't believe in sean tucker you have kenneth gainwell there who's going to cap and curb ppr upside zay flowers
68:50wide receiver seven last year just a phenomenal run out you cannot buy zay flowers high enough with declan doyle mar jackson
68:57it's just going to be throw mode for zay flowers you want zay flowers in 2026 it's very tough in best ball
69:04streets and dynasty streets you have to pay up and it's going to be past the point where you're comfortable but i
69:10love getting zay flowers here so absolutely i don't even look at la quint allen and ryan florinoy they're just secondary pieces
69:17this is a flowers for bucky irving trade it's difficult to get bell cow running backs it's tough but give me zay
69:24flowers here so i love this deal for you i love uh at ddss6 hey this is his first time commenting i
69:30can tell he goes this guy's coming himself over getting la quint allen he wrote that 15 minutes ago i've been holding
69:37on to that so i could put it up while i'm putting up this trade because who's in the trade other than
69:44zay flowers that i'm getting la quint allen hello all the liquid allen hey man listen yeah ddss66 you don't have to
69:51you don't have to draft any liquid allen in startups you don't have to trade for him you don't have to add
69:57him don't get him you should actively avoid please you ddss66 you should not be drafting any la quint allen no travis
70:04etna chan trevor excuse me no trevor etna chan also travis right he's also a good value might as well avoid him
70:11no taj brooks for you no jarquez hunter for you stay away no ollie gordon stay away from these guys you don't
70:17want them don't add them to your roster you should add instead day two and day three rookie receivers that's what you
70:24should do who did the uh how about zachariah branch you should definitely add him in in jeremy bernard make sure you
70:31get him yeah these are the guys you need to prioritize you need to get these guys uh so please by all
70:37means load up on these fringe receivers i'm sure they'll hit don't don't go devon veille don't do anything smart like that
70:44you should maybe uh troy franklin be a good one for you these would be these are great picks for you trust
70:51me load up please by all means yeah back to you you won this one zay flowers and and i love this
70:58deal you cannot pay up high enough for zay flowers i'm telling you he's he's very difficult to acquire so the fact
71:04that you were able to do this i love this deal for you and this is in that same league where there's
71:11multiple iterations is this the one where you gave away well you didn't give him away but you traded away lamar jackson
71:18correct yes this is the league where i traded away lamar jackson and then i ended up trading for zay flowers now
71:24the reason this trade happened is because i'm paying attention to the chat and in the chat my league mate says i'm
71:31looking for a running back i need to upgrade my running back and i look at his roster i'm like oh my
71:38god this roster is just i can't believe it between ryan mcdowell's roster and this guy's roster it's like there's several like
71:45scary super teams in this league i'm like oh man you guys are going to be duking it out with my old
71:51assets now you guys are going to be playing facing off in the super bowl with my players that's how this is
71:58going to work and i was like by all means please bucky irving is yours you need an rb2 bucky irving i
72:05love bucky irving like bucky irving's 2024 season was absolutely exceptional he can do it all but he is small and we
72:11paid the price for getting giving workhorse touches to 190 pound running back i warned everyone that this was unsustainable as much
72:18as i love it please by all means feed these guys they're electric they're super efficient i love them and i wanted
72:25bucky irving i don't want to give him up but this this person also had george pickets and so i liked dangling
72:32florinoy in there as well in order to get la quinn allen i was like listen you probably view florinoy as an
72:38upgrade on la quinn allen and so hopefully that will that will help to grease the wheels of this deal i'm giving
72:45you an upgrade on the second player in this deal and in a slight downgrade for you with the the front line
72:52players in the deal because i think most people at this point have zay flowers ranked ahead of bucky irving just i
72:58try to make a deal that would make the most sense based on what the person needed and also just showing some
73:05good faith that i'm looking at your roster and i'm trying to provide you with assets that i like i like ryan
73:12florin a lot like i want i want cowboys as much as i want saints and chargers but to get zay flowers
73:18i mean the stats on zay flowers are are kind of are kind of awesome and uh you know if you look
73:25he's only 25 years old he's gonna start the season at age 25.
73:29i mean he was super young coming into the league he left early and you can see he goes from 900 yards
73:36to 1050 yards to 1200 yards plays every season hugely efficient 14.0 or higher yards per reception 1200 plus air yards each
73:43year it's just what is he not delivered touchdowns does he give you explosive plays yes zay flowers number three 127.0 receiving
73:49epx and a 125.7 number three in the league overall epx among wide receivers he was top three in explosive plays he's
73:56a great horizontal player he's one of the best at getting open squeezing the football but then also getting upfield and getting
74:03those extra yards which helps to juice up his explosive plays and his yards per reception and he's only 25 years old
74:09so this is just absolutely dead perfect i would have drafted him in a startup that we talked about earlier instead of
74:16a quarterback but that startup is half ppr so when half ppr that is the one format where i'm not necessarily going
74:23to be out in front on zay flowers but anything ppr this guy is a threat for 100 catches this year there's
74:30just not anything there i mean this is one of the most top heavy receiving cores in league of course it's just
74:36going to be the the zay flower show this year next year and the year after love him in dynasty can't get
74:43enough normally you say go buy flowers for your spouse but go buy flowers for yourself efficiency you hit the nail on
74:50the head third in yards per team pass attempt last year at 2.87 fifth in yards per route run you already hit
74:56on the explosive rating number one in juke rate six in target separation you're gonna get so much volume opportunity in that
75:03raven's offense i love it and look the streets out there he's steaming up big time so zay flowers he's not going
75:10to come cheap and i think you afford yourself an opportunity i would say in a month or two you're not going
75:16to be able to get the deal that you just finessed out there with the bucky irving now good part on you
75:23talking about sending ryan florinoy think of your trade partner even though you're trying to win these deals why not just think
75:30about your trade partner whenever you think of your trade partner you're more likely to get a deal done because people will
75:37in a vacuum send for what they want and give away what they don't want but if you can match what a
75:43team needs all of a sudden that pushes the chances of you pulling off that deal much higher it's okay for two
75:50sides to get something good in a deal and if you get around that thinking of the fear of losing a trade
75:57which happens sometimes once you get over that you get a lot more deals done and you benefit your team the most
76:03because if you're saying to yourself well i i have to benefit my team and the other team can't get better if
76:10you can't think of it as hey both teams will get better from a trade and i have confidence in my team
76:17still winning then you're doing this wrong you need to have the opportunity to think of the other end that's how you
76:24get deals done so what about this trade perfect so context on this i'm in a rookie draft i've been trying to
76:30trade away it's a 200 league home league it's a lot of fun i've i keep going to the well and trying
76:37to trade away jordan addison and i kept clicking into these teams looking for their needs and i'm like oh crap i'm
76:44returning to the scene of a crime of a trade where i already ripped them off or i already won big time
76:50so it is a little bit tough sometimes when you have to revisit those uh teams now two trade partners while this
76:57rookie draft is going active right now this week they sent away the 111 at the top and justin fields the person
77:04on the top has patrick mahomes so they're cuffing justin fields what they didn't know was that ty simpson would be there
77:10if they're in a league with podfather at 109 and podfather has 109 all of a sudden ty simpson is gone so
77:17on the bottom you have deshaun watson evan ingram who's a throwaway piece so effectively what this deal ended up becoming because
77:24the 111 ended up being ty simpson podfather what do you like more watson side on the bottom or ty simpson at
77:31111 yeah justin fields and the 111 for deshaun watson and evan ingram give me the 111 all i want is the
77:37111 here the 111 is the thing that has a lot of value and i didn't even know that that could be
77:44ty simpson it's ty simpson my god getting deshaun watson is not going to put anyone over the top that's the thing
77:51man that's the thing it's like think about who you're trading and what you're getting out of it if someone has a
77:57super team deshaun watson is not going to be the difference maker that makes them the best super team as opposed to
78:04the second best super team like who really needs deshaun watson right he is simply a path to mediocrity so you want
78:11to get that guy off your roster he doesn't have great receivers casey concepcion may develop and he has a great tight
78:18end in harold fan and jr that's it quinshawn judkins out of the backfield not a strong receiver is a guy that's
78:24in his 30s going to be running as much as he was in his 20s no when he was in his 20s
78:31did he have a strong no didn't have a strong arm right never had a strong arm now he's being exposed and
78:38there's a lot of throws he can't make so this is just a guy that holds the ball too long can't make
78:44some nfl throws and is doomed to play like half the season and not really help you hardly at all get rid
78:51of him and get a guy that could be mcveigh's guy right think about best case scenario of what could be for
78:58ty simpson just a year from now matthew stafford has been managing a back injury this really does feel like one last
79:05ride we're talking about the movie heat this is one last ride season for matthew stafford and we might be looking back
79:11going man maybe you should have retired after your mvp season but he's like no we should have gone to the super
79:18bowl we should have won that game i should have been holding the trophy i'm gonna try again and if he if
79:25he either wins or doesn't win this year i think this is a wrap for matthew stafford and then what are we
79:31looking at we're looking at all the buzz and all the glowing endorsement of ty simpson from the man the legend that
79:38is sean mcveigh what do you think is going to happen to ty simpson's fantasy stock especially in 2qb and super flex
79:45leagues just they just just close your eyes and imagine it it's only going to go up and we talked about hey
79:51from year 30 to 40 we expect quarterbacks to play for sure five seasons for sure 10 deshaun watson does not have
79:58he doesn't elicit any of that right now he's on a year-to-year i would even say month-to-month right now the ota buzz
80:05there's a couple highlights out there you're pushing and selling if you can i like the idea of watson getting the job
80:12to start but you put the perfect uh description to it it's not going to last like the wins in cleveland it's
80:18going to come and go you'll be a month in and then shador sanders trots out there it's all setting up for
80:25a quarterback change via the draft in 2027 14.2 fantasy points per game that's what i think he's going to do this
80:32year that's my guess so yeah it's the 111 for me regardless because worst case scenario i get nicholas singleton i'm loving
80:38life and i have a essentially the same thought experiment is what do you think is going to happen next year in
80:45the off season with nicholas singleton especially if he comes on strong at the end of this year and is super efficient
80:52this year and then everything kind of tees up for him next year i mean it's just like just close your eyes
80:59and think about it for 10 seconds and you'll you'll see my point of view here's another trade this you sent me
81:05jackson smith and jigba acquired for rj harvey jordan addison jordan addison the guy you've been trying to dump yep a 2028
81:12first and a 2027 first ooh juicy how often can you send three ones for a player uh how often do we
81:19say hey this player is worth three ones but how often do you have a trade partner who has the pieces available
81:25to make that deal happen and it not sink both either teams or hey i'm trying to rebuild i'm not trying to
81:32send away three ones for just one player i'm trying to build in mass so this is just a perfect deal where
81:39you got these faux pieces in harvey and addison who will have spike weeks jordan addison has had wide receiver one weeks
81:46multiple over his couple seasons of playing rj harvey was able to push together you have that belief hey 20 fantasy points
81:52and in a given week it's there so this is one of those facade one of those hey look over here at
81:59what i'm trying to send you you know three card monty to end up getting jsn i think you go jsn and
82:06in our rankings pot father you you want to reveal it for the audience where he is jsn yep wide receiver one
82:12oh just wide receiver one no big deal no big deal just wide receiver one yeah if you want consensus projections and
82:19rankings we're not the place for you so yeah i i like the jackson smith and jig beside but i also understand
82:26the dilemma just like we talked about with deshaun watson who is your market right you have to have some delusional team
82:32because there's no real super team that can compete this year that really thinks they can use deshaun watson and certainly no
82:39one that's rebuilding wants to sean watson so is there really even much of a market for deshaun watson no if you
82:46can get something for him like that somehow becomes ty simpson or even nicholas singleton do it right here it's a similar
82:53dilemma in that the teams like myself in some leagues that have three 2027 firsts multiple 2028 firsts i'm not in the
82:59market for these kinds of deals anyway because i need to fill out my roster i'm looking at starting veille and coker
83:06and florinoy i i can't be trading all my picks for one guy no so i'm not in a position to make
83:13that kind of deal you have to somehow engage with a team that is competitive and that also has three first rounders
83:19that is such a rare team i mean how many dynasty leagues you have to be in before you can stumble across
83:26that team and then that team has to want what you're selling and that team hence one has to willingly engage with
83:33you and so it's all very speculative and essentially fictional yes these these trades that that people would accept for player x
83:40so if if you're in my position where you do need to rebuild you need assets then you might be forced to
83:46do a deal like this i i just don't i don't love it because the two players that are substituting for a
83:53first round pick like harvey plus addison equals a first rounder i think that's how the math is is shaking out with
84:00this deal these are two of my biggest fades i mean arguably my my most faded running back is rj harvey and
84:06my most faded wide receiver is jordan addison so these are two run and hide players if these players were players that
84:13i thought had some sex appeal if you were giving me someone like michael wilson as a wide receiver if you were
84:20giving me a running back even a running back that i don't even like but i i like more than rj harvey
84:27like a basial tootin certainly the deal would be able to get done if i was getting like a cam scadaboo right
84:33i would need you know maybe a bucky irving like at that point okay now i feel much better about this if
84:40it was michael wilson and bucky irving and the two firsts i think we would both say that's that's an even steven
84:47deal and put yourself in the position of acquiring jsn week one this year the elation that you're going to have you're
84:53charging and swiping the credit card on the 27-1 and the 28 first all you're giving up in the immediacy is harvey
85:00and addison and you're in a win now piece because chev right there he's he's in a win now position so you're
85:07getting jsn for offloading harvey and addison it's a great distraction it's a great acquisition so yes absolutely cook there yeah i
85:13mean it's it's the thing is it's it's not like it's not a top five receiver it's the wide receiver one it's
85:20the wide receiver one because he's putting up jamar chase level stats and he doesn't have t higgins and you there will
85:27likely be more pass volume this year like in in some ways jsn was unlucky last year and he still was able
85:34to put up the the just the giant numbers and and was incredibly efficient in doing it and he's only 24 years
85:40old so it i'm taking the even if you keep sweetening the other side i'm just going to keep going back to
85:47jsn jsn jsn jsn and with these teams that i'm rebuilding because jsn is 24 that would be like the one guy
85:54but i think he would be the one player where even if it's one of these teams where i don't think i'll
86:00compete until 2028 they want three firsts and they're willing to give me jsn i'm like it would really depend on how
86:07bad my team is like some of these leagues i'm teed up to get jeremiah smith and i know that so that
86:142027 first is worth a ton a ton so that you'd only need to give up two firsts right and if one
86:21of them could very plausibly be jeremiah smith but no one's doing that man no one's doing that we're we're we're letting
86:27it ride like that's the other thing is the teams that i have any bird in the hand is not really optimal
86:34i'm looking to maximize birds in the bush because my team is already so uncompetitive and you're going up against multiple super
86:41teams that the only way to resurrect this team that someone abandoned because it was so bad and that these other teams
86:47that are on top have already picked it clean of talent and then i'm coming in and i'm trying to clean it
86:54up and rebuild it right so in that situation i'm also then incentivized to just go with what's in the box and
87:01not the sure thing hey birds in the bush is just an elite phrase i love that we've used some fun phrasing
87:07on this particular show uh i do yeah birds in the bush we're doing i know it's a cliche i'll give i'll
87:14do this here's we'll do we'll do this first because you know bottom line the teams that i'm taking over a lot
87:21of them i need to hit big in rookie drafts in 2027 or 2028 and getting one guy to fill one spot
87:28even if it's jsn is not nearly enough i need to maximize lottery tickets and hope that i win big and it's
87:34a it's a fun game to play will these teams win a championship in the next three years a lot of these
87:41orphans will not but a couple of them will hit and hit hit very big and we're all going to be here
87:48enjoying it together we have carnell tate as wide receiver nine you've built that stamina from riding your bicycle man yeah but
87:54i'm also into guys like caleb johnson i keep going to the well and trying to trade away justin jefferson i spam
88:01offered all the picks up to about 108 109 after the waterfall of players that i want justin jefferson sorry uh jordan
88:08addison wrong vikings player jordan addison oh that's not it i thought that was the what that was that was something else
88:15i don't know i'm looking for uh my boner sound effect in the 2027 draft that's all oh congratulations look what you've
