0:28I'm Mitch Anderson. Three days a week, I will be distilling all the important fantasy football headlines for you all in a
0:34short form content style because our brains are cooked, but that doesn't mean that you can't win your leagues.
0:39Now let's just get right to it here. How about our guy Zay Flowers get in the bag.
0:44$140 million extension with $108 million guaranteed. This ties him with Justin Jefferson for the fourth most from an average annual income
0:50standpoint for wide receivers behind only JSN, Jamar Chase, and Drake London.
0:54Now this is a guy that this contract is going to surprise a lot of the casuals, but this is a head
1:00quote from the new head coach Jesse Minter. He's not just a slot guy.
1:04He's not just an outside guy. He's not just a gadget guy.
1:07He can do everything and I look forward to getting him the ball in as many ways as possible.
1:13The more touches this guy gets the better we will do and he is right about this.
1:17This is a player coming off of a year where he was fifth in yards per route run six in receiving yards
1:23and eighth in receptions and that's with Lamar Jackson hurt or sitting out for most of the season.
1:28Are you taking him over Emeka Ibuka Garrett Wilson and Lad McConkie at that three four turn because that's where he's going
1:35and a contract like this might even boost him up.
1:37Now he's not the only one who got paid.
1:40Let's get to our guy Bijan Robinson, who ended his hold in Tuesday agreeing to a three year extension worth up to $75 million.
1:47He just became the highest paid running back in NFL history with an average salary of $22.25 million per year, $51 million guaranteed.
1:53So this is amazing and we all knew it was coming and it doesn't change how we feel about B.
1:59John. The question is, what does this do with Jameer Gibbs, who is also holding in at Lions camp?
2:04Dan Campbell says the deal is certainly going to happen very soon and of course they will use this B.
2:10John number as probably the floor here because I cannot imagine that Lions offense without Jameer Gibbs even for one game.
2:16Now that's some very optimistic ways to start this show.
2:18Let's get to the pessimism and let's go over to whatever the hell is happening in San Francisco where the injuries just continue to pile up.
2:26We had did not practices yesterday from Mike Evans with a quad strain to Sean Stribling with a hamstring and Kalen Black with an abductor.
2:33You even had Fred Warner with an injury scare where he bangs knees with Kyle Juszczyk.
2:37Every time an alert goes off that there's a 49ers injury update.
2:40It's like when your wife or your girlfriend texts you and says we need to talk.
2:45It's not good. It's full of dread. And you know Mike Evans, this is a guy going around that five, six turn.
2:51Ricky Pearsall who's got for the season. He was a guy going in the eighth round.
2:56Stribbling was going to boost up a bit. He was going at wide receiver 70.
3:00Now we have to talk about Debo Samuel who they just signed as a depth piece who might be starting for this team week one.
3:07All kinds of shenanigans going on out there. Not what I'm interested in, but hopefully we keep an eye on them and everybody will be all right.
3:14He's got to make it through camp. Dalton Kincaid will be our next guy here who had a scary moment at 11
3:21on 11 drills on Monday when trainers checked his surgically repaired knee.
3:24The same PCL that he rehabbed all offseason and caused him to miss time last year.
3:28The same one that might have him on a snap count this year.
3:32The knee's fine. You know what happened? He got hit in the balls.
3:36The family jewels, to be specific, as he quoted, hit below the belt and his knee is fine.
3:41These are the kind of scares that make you go, come on, we're really going to do this again already, but it
3:47seems like he's going to be fine. And this is an important update here because Kincaid is going to be a guy
3:53that a lot of drafters are going to be planning on punting on tight end so they can get him around that tight end 11, tight end 12.
4:01It goes as late as tight end 15 in some drafts.
4:04Get him to September. Keep him in bubble wrap.
4:06We cannot be having any of that. And I don't know what's going on in the Northeast.
4:11A.J. Brown dislocates his thumb, popped out during a one-on-one red zone rep against Christian Gonzalez.
4:16Gonzalez, he taped it up, got back on the field, and he scored two touchdowns.
4:20He intends to play through this for the rest of camp.
4:23This is the same thumb injury that he had while he was at Ole Miss, never missed any time there, and dominated.
4:29So we don't expect this to be anything, but who knows?
4:32Maybe somebody in your league is going to look at this with a guy going 21st overall, wide receiver 8, and say
4:38this is a reason to pass on him. A lot of people are looking for reasons to pass on A.J.
4:44Brown, whether it's the knee, the age, the advanced metrics coming down from last year a little bit.
4:49I don't think a thumb is going to be one of them, but whatever you can do to scare your league mates,
4:55this might be something to send them. All right.
4:58Our next player here is going to be Chris Rodriguez, who is flashing in Jacksonville.
5:02A week ago, it was all tootin', and now we have Liam Cullen calling Chris Rodriguez a glass eater.
5:07He is making teammates grunt on the sidelines in appreciation.
5:10Practiced for the second straight day on Monday, ripping off several long runs, including through contact, which he was one of the
5:16best after-contact rushers in the league last year. And he is really pushing that battle with Tootin for the Jags' starting job.
5:22We, of course, all think that Tootin is going to get the nod because he's talented to be a guy in this
5:28league, but will those fumbling issues rear its head, or will the injury history for Chris Rodriguez rear its head?
5:34This is a guy who underwent off-season surgery. He missed time last year with a groin injury.
5:39He's not exactly a clean bill of health, so this will be a huge one to watch out for.
5:44And the Jaguars overall, their wide receiver room is going to determine a lot of leagues.
5:49It looks like their running back room might determine a lot of leagues as well.
5:53Now, you can get Chris Rodriguez pretty late. He's going as the RB45 pick 12, around 12 pick 9.
5:58But with more reports like this, this is going to be a guy that people reach for in drafts because they think
6:04this is going to be more of a split backfield than it is one guy being the dude.
6:09Now, our next player here is going to be Casey Concepcion, who was banged up in practice.
6:14He did avoid serious injury, but we just can't be having any of this.
6:18He landed hard on his right shoulder and stayed down on the turf afterwards.
6:22He's trying to make contested catches during Monday's two-minute drill.
6:25And a big reason he's in today's rundown is because a lot of people are comping him to be the next Zay Flowers in this Todd Monken offense.
6:33Very similar players. This is a very explosive guy that we think can bring a lot of juice to a Browns wide
6:39receiver room that has been rolling out corpses in Jerry Judy and Cedric Tillman.
6:43Isaiah Bond, who I like. I mean, they're just not having a lot of action going on there.
6:48It's been projected to be the Harold Fannin show, and it still might be if we have injuries like this piling up.
6:54Something to keep an eye on is that Todd Monken did compare Denzel Boston to Mike Evans, who Monken did spend a
7:00season with Mike Evans in Tampa Bay. So there is a little bit of familiarity there.
7:05So if there's any injury issues with Concepcion going into the year, he's going round 11, pick eight at wide receiver 51 right now.
7:11I would have expected that to climb because people are going to look at this room and they're going to say there's a lot of opportunity there.
7:19This is a Browns offense that finished dead last in the league last year in scoring 28th in yardage.
7:24So if there's only place you can go is up.
7:27Now, there's one guy who the only place he can go is down physically and literally, and that's going to be Xavier
7:33Worthy, who, as you'll see on the clip here, lands hard on his right shoulder.
7:37But you wouldn't be able to tell that because he makes the catch very impressive, gets up, no bracing, no guarding, puffing his chest, feeling good.
7:45He would eventually be carted off with a shoulder injury.
7:47So you really hate to see that. They are pointing to this one in particular as the onset of it.
7:53He did dislocate his shoulder week one last year when he got blasted by Travis Kelsey, underwent offseason surgery to repair it.
7:59A new shoulder issue this early is exactly the nightmare scenario Xavier Worthy drafters are going to be looking at.
8:05Not that he's going that early. He's wide receiver 50 right now, going round 11, pick seven.
8:10But people are going to look at this Chiefs offense and say, Kelsey's old.
8:13Rasheed Rice is also coming back from injury, and he's got his fair share of issues.
8:18The run game has not been amazing these last few years, although we do love some Kenneth Walker around here.
8:24So Worthy was going to be a guy that a lot of people were going to look at and go, this is
8:30a cheap flyer that I think could return. Who knows?
8:32Could he return top 30 value, top 35 value?
8:35At ADP, that would pay off. But if he's still got the shoulder issue banged up, he already doesn't have a lot of momentum as it is.
8:43That's not going to be something we want. Now, something we do want is the Luther Burden breakout, and the reports are just sizzling off the screen here.
8:50He's the talk of the town, and he is going right now as wide receiver 21, going around that 3-4 turn.
8:56This is a lot of guy people want a piece of.
8:59And you get reports like this. You get the separation reports from camp like this.
9:04He's giving gloves to fans. He is winning people over in a way that we haven't seen from the Bears camp in a long time.
9:11The hype is real. And we've got quotes from Ben Johnson.
9:14Here's a quote on Luther Burden. St. Brown in Detroit, who I had a strong affinity for, plays the game the same way.
9:20I feel that from Luther. I know he wasn't a full-time starter for us a year ago, but the snaps that he
9:26did have, he's got that competitive edge and that desire to be great.
9:30And this is a guy that a lot of people, there's always been an Amon Raw, St.
9:35Brown in Ben Johnson's offense. He did it with Jarvis Landry.
9:38He did it, obviously, with Sun God. And a lot of people expect him to do that with Luther Burden.
9:43And I think that the way that he's running, the confidence he's coming into the season with, I don't see any reason why not.
9:50Not terribly expensive either. And the second part of this that I think is really interesting is that Bears safety Kobe Bryant
9:56is now expected to miss 8-10 weeks with a knee injury suffered in Monday's practice.
10:00Now, why this is important is that going into this season, the Bears were projected to have a pretty bad defense.
10:06As a matter of fact, DVOA projected them to have the 32nd ranked defense this year.
10:11So now you lose a starter on the back end.
10:14This could be a team that has to shoot out.
10:16I know that they want to run the ball, set up play action, and let Caleb deal explosives down the field.
10:22But if the defense takes a step back this year and they have to throw the ball more, nobody's going to benefit
10:28more than Luther Burden, who really needs targets. We already know the efficiency's there.
10:32He just needs the action. So let's get him the action and let's have some fun with it.
10:37All right. Who is not having fun? And that's going to be Philadelphia, who both of their starting wide receivers are dealing with hamstring issues, neither practicing today.
10:45That's no fun. You've got Devonta Smith, who has a rising ADP.
10:49He's going wide receiver 14 and climbing. He's a guy I often see people reach on.
10:53And Makai Lemon is going as wide receiver 40 and climbing as well, going around that 7-8 turn.
10:58Both of these guys are sitting out with hamstring issues.
11:01This is a lingering one for Makai Lemon, who was dealing with one, who's already dealt with this issue once in the
11:07offseason, missed time during OTAs and all of minicamp, all of minicamp, before declaring himself fully healthy, heading into camp, and now it is back.
11:14Smith, who this is a very recently development for.
11:17He had a very strong Monday, two touchdowns from Jalen Hurts, no injury designation.
11:20Very recent development here. Who this is good for is the free agent acquisitions and the trades.
11:25So Dontavian Wicks, who's already making the rounds, the highlights for the deep down the field catches from Hurts and Elijah Moore.
11:31Both guys soaking up first team reps, which is going to be very important because this Philadelphia passing game has to hit the ground running.
11:38It was the talk of the offseason and the end of the season last year and not in the right way.
11:44A.J. Brown's departure means that they're going to have to recreate his production in the aggregate.
11:49I think they have the guys to do so.
11:51Is Jalen Hurts going to be able to step up and deal?
11:55We shall find out. But you can't have your top two guys coming into the season with injuries when your 31-year-old Dallas
12:01Goddard is going to be your next best remaining weapon.
12:04And I like Goddard, but this is just not the buzz you want as we approach August and September drafts.
12:09Now, we're going to get out of here with some ADP check-ins.
12:13I'm going to give you guys the top risers and the top followers at each position for this week, and then we can get on our merry way.
12:20Let's start with the risers. Tucker Kraft, fresh off of a Mount Rushmore interview where he said that he had the greatest rehab anybody has ever had.
12:28He is firmly up to tight end five and holding on to that.
12:32At running back, we have Jonathan Brooks, the man who must not be named.
12:36He's up to RB34. A lot of people believe that he's already penciled in for a 50-50 split with Chuba Hubbard.
12:41We shall see. The aforementioned Luther Burden is our top wide receiver mover this week who's up to wide receiver 23.
12:47And Josh Allen, a guy I don't find myself drafting a lot of because I can't stand taking quarterback early, but apparently
12:53I'm alone on this because his ADP has gone up a full point.
12:57He's looking good. And as far as the followers go, Trey McBride is down slightly.
13:01He is still holding on firmly to that tight end two spot, but with the training camp videos finally coming out of
13:07Arizona and the Marvin Harrison buzz, or lack thereof, the Michael Wilson buzz, or lack thereof, Carson Beck noise, is Jacoby Brissett finally signing.
13:14Nobody knows what to do with this Cardinals offense, and it looks like a guy who just had one of the three
13:20best tight end seasons ever is paying the price for that.
13:23Devontae Adams is going to be our largest wide receiver follower.
13:27He is tied with Xavier Worthy, but we already talked about him.
13:30He is still wide receiver 23, but another offense here where people really just want Puka.
13:34Maybe they want some Kyron. Otherwise, these ADPs are falling him and Korn as well.
13:39Trevion Henderson is going to be our biggest RB follower this week.
13:42Reports out of camp are that he's still struggling with pass protection issues.
13:46That is not what I want to hear. It's not what you want to hear.
13:50It's not what the American people want to hear.
13:52That's bad stuff right there. And then Brock Purdy, who is going to be a follower by default because of everything that's happening with the 49ers pass catchers.
14:00He's basically lost an entire generation of wide receivers to this electrical substation.
14:04He is going to be our biggest quarterback follower.
14:06So that'll do it for the rundown today, guys.
14:09We will see you soon. Cheers. You know, the original player profile was just my podcasting tool that I made available to
