1:04Futures now open. What it do, Future First Crew.
1:07This is Future First Podcast, where we help you win today with the Future First Mindset.
1:12I'm your co-host, J-Mac, here with my co-host, Jose.
1:15What up, dude? What's up, J-Mac? What's up, Future First Gang?
1:19Hopefully everybody's having a fun time. Hopefully, even though we're going to talk about him in a negative light today, you were
1:26out there in the few hours where you could get Ashton Gentey in like the eighth round because you're probably going to
1:33win a league or two, you know, if he comes back at some point during the league year.
1:39But apart from that, man, I've been good, you know, preseason football rolling around.
1:43We're very close to kickoff now, so it's almost time, you know?
1:47How about you, Jimmy? I'm good, man. It's one of those things where the camp hype hits in unexpected ways, right?
1:54You know, it's like you get the injury alert that Ashton Gentey can't put any weight on his leg and you're like, it's over.
2:02It's over. You know, the overreactions hit in ways that we don't expect.
2:06If we're not overreacting to a Cyrus Allen catch or a Parker Washington, you know, over the middle, take it into the end zone.
2:14It's overreacting on an injury that we probably shouldn't be.
2:17Let it be a lesson to you. I mean, there were accounts out there that were reporting that early reports were that he tore his ACL.
2:25Yeah, yeah, there was a fear of it. And it did shout out to, I think, Caitrell from the Boogaloo League.
2:32He mentioned that it looked somewhat like the Malik Neighbors injury from last year, diving for a fall and just, you know,
2:39kind of the knee getting kind of, you know, mangled up.
2:43But it's looking less likely like that. I mean, we talked about it, even if it's high ankle sprain, it's, you know, not the end of the world.
2:52But, you know, still still hurts his. His chances of being, you know, a top end player starting right away.
2:58Yeah, absolutely. And let's table that and we'll get more into it as we go on here with the episode, because there's
3:05going to be a lot about Ashton Gentry here.
3:08But if you're out there and you're looking for a roster review, hit us up at futurefirstpod.gmail.com and we'll get you plugged

4:07You can follow her on X at bfoxworth07. All right, man, today we're going to talk about some fades.
4:13We're going to get faded, right? Let's do it.
4:16Let's do it first. As always, quick hit, man.
4:19Are you ready? Yeah, take a quick hit before, you know, let's go.
4:23No, just kidding. All right, man, let's talk about some more camp news.
4:27There's a lot more going on. We got some preseason hype, whether it's coming out of their production, from their games, whatever it may be.
4:35The first one you wanted to talk about here was our them boys.
4:39Them boys? Them boys? How do you pronounce it, man?
4:43You tell me. You know, we just, if you haven't noticed, the Cowboys this offseason, absolutely extremely quiet.
4:48No drama. Pickens is going to play under the tag.
4:52No weird contract stuff. Haven't had a guy arrested, I don't think, yet.
4:56So, no, but I mean, we were talking about it, and I've been on the Malik Davis train and the camp news,
5:03and this is why you kind of have to stay plugged in and not lean one way or another.
5:09He was leaning Jordan Blue as the running back, too, and obviously still things can change.
5:14We still have a couple of preseason games, but the preseason game that the Cowboys played, I think it was yesterday, he
5:21got a lot of that important work he ran with the twos.
5:25And then John Machoda, who's a pretty prominent Cowboys beat reporter, kind of named him the RB2 or looking like he's still hanging on to that job.
5:34He had a nice touchdown run. He had, you know, he looked pretty good out there.
5:39So, you know, maybe it's swinging back to Malik Davis.
5:42These are the type of camp battles that, especially for Dynasty, I know for redraft, it's not that important.
5:48But I do think that the Cowboys would make a feature back out of Malik Davis or Jordan Blue, whoever they decide to have as their guy.
5:57If Javante Williams went down. So even in redraft, you know, he's one of those handcuffs you can rotate around during the league.
6:05But, yeah, it seems like Malik Davis is kind of back into that RB2 role as for now.
6:10So that's pretty interesting. I mean, it's always something to keep an eye on with these backfields and training that, you know,
6:17the back end of the rosters as we've been talking about.
6:21Wasn't Jordan Blue too? Didn't he get injured or something?
6:24Is that playing into this at all? Like, is this just now coming to me?
6:29I don't remember him. I want to say he like missed a practice or something.
6:34It was like, I want to say undisclosed. But he was like back at practice, I want to say for a joint practice or something they had.
6:43So I don't know if that's playing into it at all too.
6:47And Phil Moffa is also there too. I think it was like between Malik Davis and Phil Moffa, Jaden Blue was going
6:54to be a part of it regardless. Like I have some sort of pass catching rule or whatever it is.
7:00But I do like the call from Malik Davis because it is something to watch, whether it's any one of those three guys.
7:08He did look good yesterday and, you know, that might be playing into it here.
7:12I don't know. Did you confirm? No, I couldn't find anything about an injury for him.
7:18Well, let's move on to the next guy then.
7:20We have Kittle being activated from the pup. This is good news for him to play week one.
7:26It's been trending that way all summer. At least Kittle has been saying that and announcing it.
7:32I don't know. Maybe that's he is that kind of guy where I feel like he's just going to manifest something.
7:38And so he probably did manifest this. You know what I mean?
7:42Yeah. I mean, he seems he's been pretty confident that he was going to be ready for week one.
7:49I think he's probably just been staying away from the substation, which somehow, you know, keeps you healthier than being at practice.
7:56I don't know. I guess on top of that news, we kind of buried the lead there too.
8:01CMC was back and said that it was all part of the great, you know, magical Shanahan plan that they were going
8:09to do eight, nine hard practices and then kind of, you know, just randomly take a break because why not?
8:15And then come back to practice right before the season.
8:18So, I mean, at least for CMC, I mean, we'll see.
8:22You've been trying to fade him or, you know, call him, you know, the end of his career prematurely already this season is offseason.
8:30But, I mean, at least he's not going to start the season hurt like happened two years ago.
8:35But, yeah, man, I mean, it's good. Kittle's a good, you know, dynasty and redraft guys on contending teams.
8:41So, it's good that he'll be there at week one.
8:45Yeah. It could happen. You never know. It's the 49ers.
8:48Let's not put the cart in front of the horse here.
8:51But, yeah, I mean, it sounds like, too, Stribling is the reporters are saying that he's going to be heavily involved in week one.
8:59I don't know whether that means they're not expecting Mike Evans, you know, to come out of the gate swinging if he's
9:06going to get a slow starter or whatever it is.
9:10But I did hear those reports and the Stribling hype just continues.
9:13It goes on and on. Did he convert, though?
9:16Stribling? Yeah. Yeah. Mike Evans is on Stribling out Saturday.
9:20I thought he did. Today or yesterday they got hurt?
9:23I think so. Oh, boy. Let me double check this.
9:26Returns to practice Sunday. Okay. So, I guess he missed one practice with a shoulder.
9:31All part of the Shanahan plan. Exactly. All these guys are just, these are just rest days.
9:36These are veteran rest days for everybody. That's right.
9:39Dijon Stribling. It's a veteran rest day. Exactly. Can't be too many practices in a row near that.
9:45Substation. Got to, you know, rotate the bodies. See?
9:48They solved the problem. It's just the pronounced exposure or the prolonged.
9:52That's the word I'm looking for. Prolonged exposure is what it is.
9:56So, every few days, guys, just go to Hawaii.
9:59Come back. Take that Southwest fight. We'll see you.
10:02We'll see you in a bit. There you go.
10:04Yeah. Let's move on. Oh, no. Let me ask you, J-Mac, a question.
10:09If your quarterback, if your starting quarterback or who is projected to be the starting quarterback of your team, was a serial sexual assault person, what is that?
10:18Offender. That sounds right. Would you be booing him?
10:21And then do you think it'd be, you know, personal if you were booing him?
10:25In this scenario, is he good at football? No, he hasn't been good at football for three years, probably.
10:32No, I'm probably booing him because he sucks. I mean, isn't that, I mean, like, as horrible as it is, like, obviously
10:39not to make light of Deshaun Watson, who's a horrendous human being by all accounts and also horrible at football.
10:45But isn't that kind of crazy how, like, if he was as good as Mahomes, like, he probably wouldn't be getting booed.
10:52Like, that's just the nature of sports, I guess.
10:55Like, you're willing to put up with horrible human beings if they're putting up the numbers.
11:00But because Watson is, you know, horrible on the field, he's also getting booed.
11:05I mean, him saying that it felt personal, it's like, buddy, you're robbing this franchise blind and you suck at football and you're a horrible person.
11:13Like, you're hitting the trifecta. You're hitting, like, you know, you're batting a thousand percent here if we're playing baseball.
11:20Shout out to the absolute savage beat reporter who responds to him going, but don't you think if you were playing well
11:27that that would not have the crowd worried about you and booing you?
11:31He's like, no, this is personal. I got injured and they were cheering.
11:35This is, it's like, bro, come on, man. Reality check.
11:38Yeah, he doubled down. It's like, you know, no accountability.
11:42No, you know, I mean, yeah, just bad all around.
11:45Yeah, no accountability. Yeah. What's this about NFL players going back to college?
11:49I didn't know we could do that. Yeah. So, I don't know, a court somewhere pretty much gave extra eligibility.
11:56So, I think we have the first confirmed case.
11:58The tight end from the Giants, the Juan. The Quan.
12:02The Quan Wright. I think. I think so. Yeah.
12:05He said he's pretty much has a pact, like a handshake pact that if he clears waivers, he's going back to LSU.
12:12He's committed to LSU. I mean, you know, I'm not, we're not super deep into the college football, but I mean, I think that's just kind of crazy.
12:21I think it has an impact, you know, because you're losing players and the NIL money is, it's changing the landscape and it continues to do so.
12:29So, I think it's just very interesting and like, how does the NCAA get a hold of this and kind of bring it back in?
12:37It feels pretty impossible now that the genie's out of the bottle.
12:41That's kind of crazy, right? I mean, that he wasn't drafted, so he went undrafted.
12:46I wonder if it would have changed things if he was drafted or if that would have mattered.
12:52Like, did he have a contract or was he just trying out working?
12:56I mean, he had to have a contract if he was on a team, right?
13:01It's just weird. Like, there's going to be an NFL player in college now?
13:06Yeah. I mean, there's, there was talks that like, you know, later round picks that get cut could do the same thing, right?
13:13Like, if they don't make it and they get cut instead of going to practice squad, for example, they'll just go back
13:20to college and, you know, give it another shot, I guess.
13:24I don't know. It's, it's very, I don't know, upside down world, you know?
13:28Like, you got a 20-year-old kid, freshman who's going to go up against a 24-year-old.
13:33Like, you know, that always happens, but it just feels weird when they've had NFL experience.
13:38You know what it feels like? It feels like the plot to a bad movie where you got like some 40-year-old who's
13:45like, he washed up and he wants to go relive his glory days.
13:49He's like, mom, I'm going back to college. He didn't make it in the NFL, but now he's back.
13:56Division III football. Can he do it? Really? I mean, that's what it feels like, dude.
14:01I get Instagram reels sometimes about this U37 league where it's just like grown men who need to be at work the
14:08next day just killing themselves on like the football field.
14:11They take off their helmets. They got like white hair in their beard, like, you know, a receding hairline, and they're just
14:18out there smacking the crap out of each other on a football field on a Sunday.
14:23It's pretty funny. I mean, it's entertaining. I love those reels.
14:27There's a lot of fights on those ones. Yes, that's true.
14:31All right, man. And then we got one more news item here, which is Tyler Biotish, the newly acquired center for the
14:38Chargers who is out for the season. He hurt his ACL?
14:41Yeah. Yeah, that's a bummer, man. Yeah. I mean, I don't, you know, this has to be some news.
14:47People are worried about, you know, over there in with the commanders because they lost their left tackle.
14:53I mean, center is the captain of the line and he was one of the better centers that they were able to acquire there.
15:01So it's definitely a big blow. I mean, with the Chargers offense, all the weapons that people are, you know, banking on QJ, Ladd, Hampton, Herbert.
15:09I mean, you know, Herbert's excuse is already lined up before the season started.
15:14He lost his center. What can he do? My, you know, woe always him.
15:18But I mean, it's not nothing. I also saw a guy that was kind of analyzing.
15:23I don't know how, you know, this Twitter analyst, but he was saying that the guards are just so bad that a
15:31lot of times in their blocks, they just kind of like throw and like push people onto their like onto their side
15:38and land on top of them, having them roll on top of their counterparts.
15:42And that's why these guys have had a bunch of these knee injuries.
15:46I don't know how true that is. But on that play, that's kind of what happened.
15:52And like the guard missed his block or couldn't hold it and kind of threw his man down to the floor and
15:59ended up rolling on Bias' knee on a joint practice, nonetheless, with the 49ers.
16:03So, you know, the substation is just, you know, it's like the Stranger Things meme.
16:08It's like growing its impact out. Like now through joint practices, it's getting players.
16:13Whoa, whoa. This happened in L.A., okay? They were nowhere near Santa Clara.
16:17It's the same state. I did see they had a freeway in the background.
16:21Maybe we should investigate. The pollution in the air.
16:24It's something. It's something. Yeah. All right. Well, that's enough of the fun and making fun of these guys.
16:30Let's pause here, get a quick ad from the Podfather and our sponsors.

19:24In this episode or this segment, the players to stiff arm, we're going to give you guys some seasonal fades that we don't like at their ADB cost.
19:33It's not that we don't like them. These guys that we're going to highlight here, a lot of them are really good,
19:40and I would love to have them on a dynasty squad or maybe even in a redraft league at the right price.
19:48But nonetheless, at price, at the ADP that they're going at, there's a reason why we want to fade these guys.
19:54So let's get faded. Who's your first fade here, Jose?
19:58Yeah, it's somebody that during the offseason have kind of been going back and forth on just because the quarterback situation.
20:04And I kind of didn't expect that Tua was going to be the starter, but looking at how he's playing, I don't know if he really will.
20:13But I don't have a huge confidence in Penix either.
20:16So the player is actually Drake London, right? Like the fade here is that his price kind of assumes elite production while
20:23Atlanta still has enormous quarterback and offensive uncertainty. So I feel like it's kind of the Garrett Wilson thing all over again,
20:31like a team that projects to be decently bad with not a great quarterback.
20:35But we love the talent, right? Drake London is one of the best young wide receivers in the league.
20:41But he's currently going, I think, around wide receiver seven or eight.
20:45And it just feels too much, right? You're kind of baking into his ceiling.
20:50Obviously, if Drake London was maybe paired with like a Mahomes, you could say he would have wide receiver one upside.
20:56But I think you're taking the best case scenario with a Tua that actually can play football or a healthy Michael Penix
21:03and just kind of cementing him as already a very solid wide receiver one.
21:08It's borderline, I think, first round territory in some platforms.
21:11I think on Sleeper, he's currently going as what was it like the middle of the second round in full PPR and
21:18a little bit later in half PPR. So I think people are just not accounting for the changes that have happened in Atlanta.
21:26Kevin Stefanski is now head coach and the Falcons have quarterback uncertainty.
21:30Michael Penix Jr., Tua, and London's usage could change, right?
21:33We don't know exactly. We understand that he's the best player, but the best player doesn't always end up with the most
21:40targets or being the best player for fantasy, especially when their quarterback is not great, right?
21:45I think also people are kind of discounting Kyle Pitts.
21:48Like, I know it's a meme, but like also, you know, he's going to draw targets.
21:54And B. John Robinson, Tua, I think, had highest dump off rate.
21:57I think it was. I think I saw of quarterbacks last year, one of the highest percentages.
22:03Now, that could be partially Mike McDaniel. But when you're Tua and you're panicking back there, the safest thing is to just
22:10throw it to your running back because he's only five yards away.
22:14So, you know, I think Drake London to maintain his like what?
22:18I think it was 24 percent target share. That's going to be hard.
22:22And how good is the offense going to be right?
22:25Like, that's kind of the biggest worries I have.
22:28So my biggest problems with Drake London isn't Drake London, right?
22:32Like, it's not Deshaun Watson. Don't take this personal Drake London if you're listening.
22:36Is that I'm being asked to draft him. Like, all the questions that we have about him are answered.
22:42Quarterback is a question. New offense is a question.
22:45Touchdown regression potentially? Question. But the price, there's no question mark attached to that, right?
22:50We're just thinking everything's going to work itself out.
22:53Drake London's so good. He's going to make it work.
22:56And I mean, not just Garrett Wilson, Justin Jefferson, who I would put hands in, you know, entire, you know, head above
23:03Drake London in terms of NFL talent. Couldn't make it work last year with a bad quarterback and a better offensive minded head coach in Kevin O'Connell.
23:12So for me, the bottom line is just like London could absolutely finish as a wide receiver one.
23:18But you're drafting him as a wide receiver, as the wide receiver seven or eight in the middle of like the second round.
23:25You need him to do it or your second round pick kind of goes up in flames, especially when we're talking about
23:32a lot of people are, you know, using the trend of two running backs in the first two rounds.
23:38If you buck that and you take Drake London and then he finishes as even not that far off, like a wide
23:46receiver, he has the wide receiver 12. So he's still a wide receiver one, but he's four or five marks off where you're drafting him.
23:54It's going to hurt your chances to win. So I think there's not enough margin for error there.
23:59And I just think there's better picks in that range.
24:03Yeah, man, we were talking about it too. Like the picks in that range, it's kind of full of question marks.
24:09There's not a lot of guys you feel better about.
24:13Like one guy that I would probably feel better about would probably be like an AJ Brown.
24:18Like I'd probably draft AJ Brown over Drake London.
24:21I'm probably taking Brock Bowers over Drake London. Like if we're going like a zero RB build, like you're saying, I think
24:28it's fine to take like a Brock Bowers in the second round.
24:32And then in your third round pick, get somebody equivalent to what a Drake London would be.
24:38Right. If you go get the wide receiver 12 at their cost, like a Chris Alave, but then you have Brock Bowers to pair with him.
24:46That obviously probably feels a lot better than if you were to have like a Drake London and Colson Loveland.
24:52Right. Or something like that. Like choose your fighters.
24:55Right. And it doesn't even have to be a Lave.
24:59There's, you know, there's players around that. If you want to shoot for ceiling and get like a neighbors or something like that, you could definitely do that.
25:08But yeah, man, I don't mind the call. I don't, I don't hate it.
25:12Like I think Drake London is good at football and you're right.
25:16Like, I think the thing that concerns me the most is Tua.
25:20If it were Penix back there tossing the rock, we already saw what Penix can do for Drake London.
25:26So I guess maybe the hope is if you do take Drake London is that Tua falls flat on his face and
25:33Penix is healthy enough to come in to start slinging the rock because we know the connection that him and London have.
25:40We saw what the ceiling could be for London and the times that they were healthy together.
25:46But yeah, I mean, if it's, if it's Tua to start, it's, it's not great.
25:51And I mean, there's even talk now of the third string quarterback who's getting hype.
25:55I don't, I don't even remember his name. Strickland or something like that.
26:00Jack Strand, our boy. Shout out to, shout out to Piggy out there.
26:04He, he's hyping him up. So. Piggy. Oh, it's, it's bad for the Atlanta fans.
26:09My biggest thing here is like Michael Penix. I mean, he had a few good games, but I mean, he missed one week.
26:16I think that was a concussion. So he missed like, and then he got hurt by week 10.
26:22And it was, I don't know, it was like three or four decent games where he played like pretty well.
26:28But I mean, he had only one game where he threw more than, or two games where he threw more than one touchdown.
26:36I just like, I feel like we've seen so little of it from, from him and he's just kind of also the,
26:43to me feels like the Jacob Dobbins of the quarterback position.
26:46You're like, if Penix plays, how long is he going to play?
26:50Like, how long is that Penix going to be for the season?
26:54You don't, you just don't know. So. How long will the Penix stay up?
26:59Yeah. Like, is it going to be a short ride?
27:02Is it going to be a, you know, who knows, you know?
27:06It's more than four hours. Call a doctor. Exactly.
27:09If he's last, if he plays for more than four weeks, we get, you know, we're wheels up there, I guess.
27:15That's right. Yeah. I mean, he was good when they played together.
27:19Look, look at these points that Drake London put up week 10 against Sauce Gardner, 24.4 points.
27:25Wide receiver one on the week. Week nine against Christian Gonzalez, 38.8, number one on the week.
27:30Then you have week six, 31.8 against Christian Benford of Buffalo, number one.
27:34On the week. Number week four, 25 points, number five on the week.
27:39Like, yes, that it was up, up and down, but like the wide receiver position in general is volatile.
27:45If he's going to have a 50% hit rate at putting up 25 plus points that I don't know.
27:51I'll take it. Yeah. I mean, I think some of the concerning stuff though is, is like the 8.2 and the 10.5.
27:58Like I understand that there's variance. I think he's just like, don't look at, don't look at those.
28:04Yeah. Just don't pay attention to the bad games.
28:07No, I mean, I get it. I definitely think Drake London, when you're doing this type of call out is like the
28:14type of player who's good enough, who makes you look bad at the end where he just, you know, he either finishes
28:21right as right here or like a little bit above and it's a bad call out.
28:26I just, uh, like you said, there's other, especially if you go wide receiver, I think there's definitely other guys who I'm more safe.
28:34Uh, like, you know, I feel safer in their hands.
28:37I mean, yes and no. Right. Like we were talking about that yesterday and it was like after Justin Jefferson, it's like,
28:44you just like, who do you pick at, at that, that place?
28:48And I don't, to be honest, I don't feel comfortable with a lot of them.
28:53So, but also too, we want our guys to get off to hot starts.
28:57So that way you have the potential to trade them if you do.
29:02And if all these numbers we're talking about are with Michael Penix Jr.
29:06And Tua is going to get the start here.
29:09Maybe it doesn't, it doesn't turn out that way for, for Drake London coming out the gate.
29:14You know, it is, it is a risk here and I don't hate the call.
29:19It is probably like a high risk, high reward scenario, but it has a very low floor.
29:25It's a basement. Indeed. All right, let's go on here with my next one.
29:29And guys, this is going to feel a bit disingenuous here, but, but Jose can back me here.
29:35We were talking the, on Friday night, we were talking about who we're going to call out for a phase.
29:41And I was like, man, like, does this, is this crazy that I kind of want to call out Ashton Gentty?
29:48And he was like, no, like I kind of get it.
29:52Like, it makes sense. Like your argument for it makes, makes a little bit of sense.
29:57And then of course today the news comes out about Ashton Gentry not being able to put a weight on his foot or on his leg.
30:05And I'm like, well, I guess I'm going to have to pick a new fade for tonight.
30:11Like I can't, I can't really go with Ashton Gentty.
30:14And then like, like two hours before we go on tonight, Ashton Gentry is going to be fine, guys.
30:20It's just an ankle sprain. Ashton Gentty is back on the phase list, baby.
30:25Let's go. Kicking the man while he's down and hurt.
30:28I can't even put weight on his foot and you're kicking him.
30:32Undertaker straight up. He's getting faded back to life.
30:35All right. Let me lay out the argument here of why Ashton Gentty was a fade before his injury.
30:41And especially now after his injury, you're going to want to fade him before he was going as I think like the
30:48RB eight, you know, at the back end of the first round, he was going, you know, pretty much after the three
30:55wide receivers, which were, you know, JSN, Puka and chase.
30:58And he was probably one of the next running backs off the board behind, you know, the six in front of them,
31:05which are like, you know, Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey, Bajon, Gibbs, who else is in there?
31:10Saquon. Sometimes you're kind of, you're like at the end of the first making a decision usually between like Saquon, Ashton Gentty, Devon HN and Omar in Hampton.
31:20And those are kind of like, if you're going running back from like the 112 or you're double tapping that 112 and
31:27201, you're probably picking two of those like four or five guys.
31:31And I mean, especially now not to like burst your, not to cut you off, but like, especially now after the injury,
31:38I'm probably picking all the other guys before him now, even though I'm not a huge Hampton fan, but yeah.
31:44Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he's dropped five, nearly five ADP spots over the last 24 hours with, with this news.
31:51So the spike and the drop off has been evident and it's there, you know, like now he's at ADP 18 overall,
31:58whereas before he was ADP, you know, 14, 13, right around there.
32:02Like you're saying, I was already going to take, be taking Hampton over him.
32:06Give me Derek Henry over him. Even with a healthy leg, Saquon Barkley's there.
32:11Kenneth Walker, I'll take over him. Chase Brown, like all those guys.
32:14I'm, I was, I was probably going to take over him.
32:18And here's why the minute, the minute Clint Kubiak landed in Vegas, there were videos already surfacing what looked like a hostage
32:25negotiation of him in a dimly lit room, probably with his hands tied behind his back, talking about what the backfield was going to look like.
32:33And he was saying, yeah, it's going to be a rotation.
32:37We want two, even three guys out there running the rock.
32:41I think this was before Clint Kubiak had even looked over his roster and he didn't know what running backs he had on his roster.
32:49Cause he probably wouldn't have been saying that if he knew the next best running back was Dylan Laub or, you know,
32:56I don't even know who else is on the team.
32:59Now they have Mike Washington. They drafted Mike Washington, which is the perfect segue into the next point.
33:05Mike Washington is good and he's looking good, right?
33:08I mean, he was the draft darling out of the combine, had a speed score of like 110.
33:1428, like off the charts, like the second highest speed score of all time behind Bo Jackson.
33:19Right? Like we had talked about it on this podcast, like his 40 time at his weight was just unreal.
33:25And like that stuff matters for running backs. To me, I want a big guy that can run fast.
33:32Right? And we've already seen it in the preseason.
33:34He can run fast and he's, he has enough vision to find a hole and hit it and run or get to the outside and make it happen.
33:44Yes. It's preseason. Maybe that doesn't mean anything, but you have coach speak Clint Kubiak saying, yeah, Mike Washington's a baller.
33:50We need to get more on his plate and put it on, put it on wax for him so that he can get going.
33:58I think Mike Washington jr. Can carve out a role on this offense because that's what the coaching staff wants.
34:05They want more than one running back out there.
34:07So even before Gentie was dealing with an ankle injury, I think Mike Washington jr.
34:12Was a threat to some Ashton Gentie's playing time on top of that too.
34:17Like we're talking about the Las Vegas Raiders that's commanded by Kirk cousins, right?
34:21This isn't going to be a very potent offense.
34:24You don't want pieces of this offense unless it's going to be extremely concentrated.
34:29And if Gentie is not going to be getting 80 to 90% of the touches in this offense, which I think a
34:36lot of people are projecting based on last year's usage with last year's coaching staff.
34:41How have we seen Clint Kubiak operate his backfields on all the other teams that he's coached before they've been split backfields.
34:48Even when he was the offensive coordinator for the saints, Alvin Kamara got the load, but that was out of necessity, right?
34:55I mean, Ken J Miller was hurt and then they had, um, the other guy that can't stay healthy.
35:01I'm blanking on his name now. Um, it doesn't matter.
35:04They had, they also had, um, the guy that was on the lions the year prior who had a crazy amount of touchdowns.
35:12This is great podcasting right here. Just know they wanted more guys involved.
35:16That was the narrative that was being spun all along was trying to get more guys involved.
35:21It couldn't just be on all on Alvin Kamara.
35:24And they couldn't find the guy to kind of step in and be the guy that they needed to be.
35:31And then in Seattle, we saw what, what he did to Zach Charbonnet, who was actually a good pick last year, but
35:38also Kenneth Walker because of Zach Charbonnet was a bad pick.
35:41Like I just, it feels rich to have your first round pick be a projection, right?
35:47For, for this kind of workload in, in this kind of offense, it doesn't feel like a pick.
35:52I want to be making, like I said, give me an Omari and Hampton, a Derek Henry, a Chase Brown, Kenneth Walker overall, all of them.
36:01It just feels like a safer bet to me.
36:04Yeah, a hundred percent, especially with these ankles, they can linger, nag, stop, you know, his explosiveness.
36:09I think you're right. Like the Raiders do not project to be one of those teams whose offense is going to take
36:16a great leap forward, which means that his inefficiency from last year, which wasn't Gentry's fault.
36:21Like obviously like the narrative of this whole episode is these guys are talented, but we don't really love where they're going.
36:29Um, so like it, it wasn't Gentry last year.
36:31It was just his old line and the team overall was just bad.
36:36And you know, that hasn't been fixed overnight. They've definitely done things to make it better.
36:41Um, and so now if Gentry loses some of that workload, even a little bit, even if you're talking about five to
36:4810%, how much like more inefficient is he going to be for your fantasy team?
36:53If you're drafting him as the running back seven, running back eight, wherever, uh, he's going right now.
36:59I think, yeah, he's around, he's around there, depending on how you stack a chance, Dan Hampton, Chase Brown, Derek Henry, and Kenneth Walker to me.
37:07Even at the usages that we were projecting him, you're like 80, 90%.
37:11To be honest, like for him to pay off on that draft capital, he, I feel like it's not going to come through touchdowns.
37:19So it's going to have to come from the receiving game.
37:22So Gentry is going to have to put up like 60, 70 receptions in my opinion, to pay off on that draft capital.
37:30I don't like it. I don't want to bet on it.
37:33Not at the draft cost that you have to.
37:36And I went back and I just pulled up the 2024 saints.
37:40It was Jay Willie, Jamal Williams. How could I forget, man?
37:44He was, he was the guy that was stealing touches from, from Kamara that got hurt.
37:49And then Kendra Miller and what was the other guy that just couldn't stay on the field.
37:54And then of course that was the year that Taysom Hill had six rushing touchdowns.
37:59Right. So it's like, we, we've, we've seen what Clint Kubiak wants to do in these offenses.
38:05And it is, it's going to, it's going to be a split backfield to much to the dismay of, of Ashton Gentry managers.
38:12Yeah. A hundred percent. That's all I got, man.
38:15Why don't you kick us off with your fade number two?
38:19I hate this one, by the way, I'm going to fight you all the way on it.
38:24Yeah. So it's going to be another wide receiver here.
38:27And it's going to be Devante Smith. I think currently as a wide receiver, he's going in that like kind of middle-ish
38:34rounds right outside the third round, beginning of the fourth, depending on, you know, what platform and format he's a wide receiver
38:42to, I think wide receiver, like 14, 15 off the board.
38:45And again, I mean, Devante Smith has never been a bad NFL player.
38:49He's just been a bad fantasy player. Like, I don't know if he's one of those players who's cachet, like his name
38:56just carries a lot of value, but he's really never been that fantasy relevant, like wide receiver 19, 27, 20 in terms of PPR finishes.
39:04So like a solid wide receiver two, once or twice.
39:08So he did have a top nine finish back in 2022.
39:11And I understand like the whole hype here and the whole thing is right where the target explosion when, because AJ Brown is gone, right?
39:19He's also been dealing with a hamstring injury, by the way.
39:23So like, he's also been missing camp and stuff.
39:26So I think this is like the most nuanced fate I have because obviously there's a big bull case for AJ Brown being gone.
39:34And therefore Smith becomes Philadelphia's wide receiver one. And they didn't do a ton.
39:38I mean, they drafted Mikhail Lemon, who's been hurt, who, you know, has been having some problems.
39:44Goddard and Stowers. Stowers is looking like not a great football player right now.
39:48And then you have Dontavian Wicks, you know, the Hall of Famer that we all know him to be.
39:54So it's not like there's a ton of targets, but, you know, the market has kind of already noticed.
40:00And again, they're just seeming to price in Devante Smith as this kind of for sure producing asset.
40:06When the Eagles threw for just 448 passes and Jalen Hurts averaged only like 29 pass attempts last year.
40:12Obviously, I think Philadelphia is hoping to change that.
40:15But man, when you watch Jalen Hurts play, like it seems kind of like, I don't know, like we were talking, I
40:22can't remember who it was, but they were talking about like the scaredness of him throwing over the middle.
40:28Like he seems to have lost confidence in his ability to drive the ball, at least from like camp and some of the stuff that's been coming out.
40:37So like, how much is that on Jalen Hurts?
40:40How much was it on the coaching staff last year?
40:44I just think there's a lot of question marks there.
40:47Like is Jalen Hurts ever going to be a 40 attempt per game type of player throwing for three, four or 500 yards?
40:54Like it just never really seems to be that we've heard so much about how they want to return to Saquon of two years ago.
41:02They want to feed Saquon. And they want to be a Saquon driven team.
41:07And it feels like that's where it's going. Like Devante Smith, for him to be as impactful as people want him to be where he's getting drafted.
41:16There has to be, I think, a target consolidation.
41:18And maybe, you know, the other players are just not good enough that it ends up being him.
41:24But I'm just worried that, you know, Brown's departed.
41:27He creates targets. But Philadelphia, I don't think, is simply handing the receiving room to Smith.
41:32Right. That's kind of my biggest reason to be fading him.
41:36I can't. I can't agree with you here, man.
41:39But that's OK. Like it is what it is.
41:42Like this is this is why there's two of us is why we're doing what we're doing.
41:47Yeah, wide receiver 13, according to the ADP I'm looking at, which is 29th overall.
41:52So that's a, you know, early third round pick to spend on on Devante Smith going around guys like Alave, J-Mo, Zay
41:59Flowers are, you know, right behind him in front of him.
42:03You got Neighbors and George Pickens. So. I get it.
42:06Like. I'm going to be taking like Alave over him.
42:09I honestly, I take Devante Smith over George Pickens.
42:12Spoiler alert. He's my next fade. So I can get revenge here on on Jose.
42:17No, but I don't know, man. Like, I think the the bull argument for him, right, is without AJ Brown on the
42:24field, he's had a 38 percent target share with a 2.69 yards per route run, which is really, really good.
42:30Right. I mean, if we can project that target share for this offense with those yards per route run, it's I think
42:38he's pretty easily like a 1200 yard season, maybe more.
42:41I don't know how many touchdowns he gets, but if he's putting up 80 receptions on 12 touchdowns, like that feels pretty
42:48likely that he'll be a wide receiver one. I don't know.
42:51But again, like question marks, like you're saying, like it's this isn't a solved thing.
42:56This is projections kind of like what we were talking about with Ashton Gentry.
43:01It's a whole new offense. We don't really know what to expect.
43:05I can understand why you would feel uncomfortable with that price tag.
43:09Yeah, I mean, it's I think not as hefty and not as, you know, like going to hurt you as bad.
43:15I just think that people feel like they're getting like a league winner in the third round there.
43:21And some of those guys, like if neighbors for whatever reason is falling, Olave, some of those other guys, I just feel
43:28much better about them being my wide receiver one.
43:31If I went like double running back or a running back and the tight end quarterback, if I did something like that,
43:38like I just have less confidence in him carrying my running back room than I do.
43:43I even have, you know, I definitely have more confidence in the guy you're about to talk to to carry my running back room than than Devante Smith.
43:52Yeah. Yeah. Your wide receiver room. Is that what you're saying?
43:56Yeah, that's what I meant. Yeah. No, you're good.
43:59You're good. I got confused because you said it the first time.
44:03I was like, did we shift? Are we talking about something?
44:06No. Okay. Okay. Yeah. No, like as your wide receiver one is shaky, like it could pay off, right?
44:13You know, people are targeting him or pinning him as, you know, this year's JSN.
44:17Is that true? Is that going to happen? I don't know.
44:21We'll see. We'll, we'll see. But yeah, like my fade already spoiled it.
44:25George Pickens here. Wide receiver 10. You have to pay up.
44:29If you want George Pickens on your team, he is going as the 24th overall pick and single QB Lee.
44:35So the end of the second round, you're spending a second round pick on the wide receiver to yeah.
44:41As for the Dallas Cowboys, who are going to be a scoring team.
44:45They're, they're going to put up a lot of points there.
44:49They're in a really good division. They have a really bad defense.
44:53They're going to need to put points on the board as we've seen them do in the past.
44:59Dak Prescott is more than capable of doing that.
45:02There's just a couple of things that are standing in the way for me here.
45:06One is Javante Williams has, has proven that he can be that guy.
45:11He's good, man. And I think that they, they want to lean more on Javante Williams.
45:16It makes Dak Prescott's job easier when he is efficient, running the ball, moving the chains, getting those four yards per carry,
45:23and just keeping them progressing down the field. It opens up the lanes for the wide receivers to get involved here.
45:30But the fact still remains that George Pickens did a lot of the damage he did last year when CD lamb was out of the games, right?
45:38If we look at his game log here in weeks one and two, you know, six points per game, 17.8 per game, 17.8 per game.
45:46That's when CD lamb left. And that's when he really blew up week four, 33 points week, six, 31 points.
45:53CD lamb comes back week seven. He had a three week absence from weeks four to six.
45:58If I'm remembering correctly, his production dips 12 points per game, 15 points per game, 13 points per game.
46:05And then he picks back up with a 29, 29 points per game.
46:09I do think it's reasonable to assume that George Pickens is going to have spike weeks.
46:14He's always had spike weeks. That's, that's not the issue here at all.
46:18I just don't think there's going to be as many as there were last year.
46:23When you have a few of those spike week games coming off of the injury to CD lamb and his high ankle sprain.
46:30There's also just the fact that they have a more capable wide receiver room too.
46:35I mean, you have the, the darling last year that came in, what's the wide receiver three's name?
46:41Ryan Flournoy. Ryan Flournoy. Ryan Flournoy. Who's making splash plays.
46:44Can he come in and make a difference in a spread offense?
46:48There, there's still a Ferguson that needs to take targets and go around wide receiver.
46:5310 feels like a lot to pay for a wide receiver two on his own team on a second round pick.
47:00Like this to me screams, you know, the Devonta Smith of 2024 or the T Higgins of 2025, these wide receiver two
47:07on their teams where everything falls their way and their production spiked in the year prior.
47:12And because of that, their ADP and their draft capital in the next year climbs because of it.
47:18You're getting guys, you know, like the T Higgins, um, at the end of the third round.
47:23So to me, T Higgins and George Pickens should be a same level of, of draft capital here that I want to
47:30invest in them, except you're paying a round ahead for George Pickens.
47:34Give me guys like Nico Collins over George Pickens.
47:37Give me, you know, I'll take a swing on a lava.
47:41Give me Devonta Smith. Like I said, I'm probably going to be a good one.
47:46I'm probably even going to take Malik neighbors over him for better or worse.
47:50Malik neighbors should probably be on this fadeless, but I can't quit Malik.
47:54Please be good. Malik. Please be good. I mean, I think the biggest thing for Malik is definitely like what happens with
48:01Jackson Dart and that, um, you know, coaching and, uh, yeah, the naggy problem.
48:06He's got a nagging problem there. But I mean, I think if you took Pickens and Devonta Smith, who do you think
48:13has a possibility to finish higher, like ultimate ceiling, whatever you need to take and take out that means CD gets hurt or that means, et cetera.
48:22Like who do you think generally has like the ability to come out as the, the highest ceiling?
48:28I mean, it's, it's George Pickens. If we're saying that everything has to fall right where CD lamb gets hurt.
48:34Right. Like it's just a more high flying offense, but it's like, you can't factor that in here.
48:40Like, that's not fair to say like all health included Devonta Smith, you know, nine times out of 10 is going to
48:47finish with, with the higher ceiling here. I feel like.
48:50Yeah. I mean, I think you're kind of drafting him near the floor.
48:54Like I wouldn't be too surprised, but I guess, you know, something like that could be said for Devonta Smith, I just,
49:02I don't know, one's an Eagle and one's a cowboy real in-depth analysis here.
49:06No, it's not that. I just, I, I, when I look at the way Devonta Smith wins, how he racks up points,
49:13it just doesn't seem as conductive as like having the high ceiling that Pickens does.
49:18Like I, it's hard for me to see a game where Devonta Smith has like two, like a Jamar chase, like two touchdowns at like 170 something yards.
49:27Like that for Pickens seems like very within whether, uh, CD lambs playing or not.
49:32Um, it seems like very, uh, possible. I think this year too, when this offense and them playing together, I think you're
49:39definitely going to have more of a one game for CD one game for Pickens, but I think it's definitely has a higher ceiling than Piggins.
49:47I definitely wouldn't call Pickens like the second, uh, number two there.
49:51I would definitely call them like one, a one B Batman, Robin, like very much like closer than Higgins and chase where
49:58I think there's definitely a step of difference there in some of these other rooms.
50:03But, you know, I definitely think you're paying a high price tag for Pickens.
50:08He's definitely not like the selection I'm making there.
50:11It obviously depends. Like, did I go running, running back, running back?
50:14Do I have a wide receiver? Is he going to be my wide receiver too?
50:19Like if I, for whatever reason, I went like hero running back, I got, um, you know, Gibbs or, or B.
50:26John in the first, and then I went, uh, you know, a wide receiver and then like a Justin Jefferson or for
50:33whatever reason I got, I don't know, um, AJ Brown.
50:36And then I can turn around and pick, uh, Pickens as my second wide receiver.
50:41I do love, I would love something like that.
50:44Well, that makes one of us. All right. Enough, enough hating on Georgie here, man.
50:49Who is your, and actually, you know what? Let's, let's take a quick break and then we'll come back with, uh, your

52:08That first too hot bite of fries you couldn't wait for, followed by ice cold Pepsi.
52:13Now that hits different. Suddenly, the energy kicks back in.
52:16The night goes longer. And the laughs don't stop.
52:19Because Pepsi brings out more flavor, more fun, and more of the moment.
52:23Food deserves Pepsi. Grab a Pepsi Zero Sugar today.
52:26All right. Welcome back. Jose, lead us off here with your second fade of the 2026 players to stiff arm.
52:33Yeah, I mean, we could just call this segment not to, you know, so foreshadowing for you as well.
52:39But, you know, stiff arming the Arizona Cardinals into the ground here.
52:43But, yeah, mine's going to be Jeremiah Love from the Arizona Cardinals.
52:47Again, I think he's an extremely talented prospect. I think if you're in Dynasty and you got him, I think you're going to be feeling all right.
52:55Like, I don't think he's going to horribly derail your ability to get a higher pick next year.
53:01Like, he's not going to score so many points that he takes you completely out of a top five pick.
53:08I think we've heard it all season, offseason long, about they like Algier.
53:12It's going to be a committee. It's going to be this, that.
53:16Jeremiah Love has a lot to learn, et cetera, et cetera.
53:19So he's an elite prospect that's being priced as though the elite NFL production has already happened.
53:25Keeping consistent with the overvalued, like we're sorry, this is kind of with consistency from our overvalued or undervalued show where you had him as overvalued.
53:33You know, the market hasn't really changed and corrected itself.
53:36I think right now he's going as the running back 13 and he's kind of at the end of the second, early
53:43third, which is kind of what we were talking about before where like a ton of the players in that range are
53:50just guys that I'm not a super fan of.
53:53Like, we continue to talk about the two running backs in the first four rounds.
53:58Like, I'm not reaching on Jeremiah Love just to get that done.
54:02Like, if he's one of the other guys because, you know, a Jacobs, a Brees Hall, a Javante Williams.
54:08Like, I'd much rather wait if I can and get Javante Williams almost, you know, eight picks, ten picks later.
54:15If somehow Scatterbo is another guy that I can get maybe a whole round later.
54:20I'm definitely doing that than taking Jeremiah Love. I think we've kind of forgot what happened with Ashton Gentry last year.
54:26Like, a great running back on a horrible offense means that they either have to be like extremely special, catch, you know,
54:3360, 70, 80 targets or, you know, just somehow fall into the end zone enough times.
54:39And when the offense is bad, it just doesn't give them enough chances.
54:43And that's kind of what, you know, the Cardinals kind of project to be.
54:47Like, another team that's fighting for the 101 again.
54:50You're talking about that, you know, his quarterback is, his quarterback room is Jacoby Brissett with Gardner Minshew, I think, in the back.
54:58It's not like he went, you know, to play with Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, something like that.
55:03So, I just feel like did we not learn anything from what happened with Ashton Gentry last year?
55:09And, you know, like, Jeremiah Love might be incredible.
55:12That's not the argument. Like, my question is why am I paying second round or early third round prices to find out?
55:19So, we're drafting a rookie running back around, running back for 13 before he's taken one NFL carry in an offense with Jacoby Reset at quarterback.
55:27Like, Love has to be really good, really fast just to return the value.
55:32And I think there's definitely other running backs in that range that I would rather have.
55:37Yeah, that's the real argument to me here is, like you said, give me Javante Williams.
55:42Give me Breece Hall. Give me a non-legal problem.
55:45Jacobs. I was like, we're non-legal? We're about to get shut down.
55:49The stream's over. I mean, the show's over, guys.
55:52It was a good run. Careful how you finish that sentence, J-Mac.
55:56Yeah, man. I mean, there's a ton of guys that I would rather take over him.
56:01I guess the one argument right for him when we're talking about this Ashton Gentry, we're not drafting him where Ashton Gentry was going last year.
56:09So, like, Ashton Gentry was, you know, essentially where he's at now.
56:13Was at the end of a first-round pick. Like, and he wasn't bad last year.
56:18Like, he was the running back 12. I want to say he was, like, an RB1 last year.
56:24Or if not, an RB1 just outside of an RB1.
56:27But it still felt bad because you spent your first-round pick on him.
56:31So, this feels different, though. This does not feel the same.
56:35Like, the Raiders were bad last year. But there was actually, like, going into the season, there was a lot of hope for the Raiders to be good.
56:44But Geno Smith was heading the team with his good buddy Pete Carroll, who had had success with him in Seattle.
56:51Brock Bowers was, you know, the guy coming off the hottest rookie season ever.
56:55They even had Jacoby Myers, who was kind of this superiorly underrated wide receiver who just got it done for them.
57:02There was a lot of hope for them last year.
57:05And I think that's kind of why Ashton Gentry was being drafted as high as he was.
57:11But that is just not the case surrounding them, right?
57:14I mean, a lot of people are just saying that the Cardinals are going to be a ton of regression candidates.
57:21Like you said, you have the quarterback narrative where it's Brissette to start but probably not Brissette to finish.
57:27We didn't even mention Carson Beck, who is the rookie quarterback that is probably going to see some playing time here.
57:34And that is not what you want for an offense.
57:37As a rookie to be coming in his first season, trying to command an offense, moving the chains is just, it's not going to feel great.
57:45And I think that's a big reason why people are fading Arizona Cardinals here, like Jeremiah Love, like Atrey McBride, and like
57:52the next guy that I want to talk about here.
57:56But give me your closing thoughts here on this before we move into him.
58:00No, I mean, I think, you know, it was saying that the fantasy community didn't learn anything.
58:06It seems, you know, it's learned something. I just think there's also way more mouths to feed.
58:11You know, there's way more target getters. Michael Wilson's a draft darling, the guy you're going to talk about, and obviously Trey McBride.
58:18But I think Jente had like 75 targets last year, caught 50-something and scored five touchdowns.
58:24Like Jeremiah Love would have to have that. And he's got an Algier problem.
58:28I mean, we've seen Algier take super elite running backs off the field.
58:32Yeah, for sure. You know, Jeremiah, and I just didn't even mention this.
58:37I'm not even sure why. But, I mean, Jeremiah Love is also injured with an ankle injury.
58:42So I guess we're just picking on young running backs with ankle injuries.
58:46I don't know why. Screw them. They deserve it.
58:49Exactly. You know, he doesn't need surgery. So that's, you know, a great news.
58:54But it is a high ankle, and he might not be even ready for week one.
58:59So on top of being a rookie, on top of already saying that, you know, they're going to split time or that,
59:06you know, Tyler Aguirre is going to get some work.
59:09You know, he's going to be behind on the playbook, and he's going to start slow from the injury.
59:15So those are all things I should have mentioned, not at the closing.
59:20But anyways, here we go. Let's dump on some more Cardinals.
59:23Yeah, the one Cardinal we do want to dump on here is the third year Marvin Harrison Jr.
59:29And this one feels bad, man, because I feel like coming in to this offseason, people were so down on Marvin Harrison Jr.
59:36And I thought I was going to be in.
59:39I was like, you know what, man? He's going to be so cheap.
59:43This guy, he's got the draft capital. Third year breakout.
59:47People are just, you know, so eager to see these guys break out in year two now that they just get out on them.
59:54And then they end up becoming, at least in Dynasty, Marvin Harrison Jr.'s stock did not plummet as far as I thought it was going to be.
60:03He was still going in like fifth, sixth round of Dynasty startups, which is fine.
60:08That's not great. But we've been saying it all season.
60:11The fifth and sixth round of Dynasty startups are rich with talent.
60:15And Marvin Harrison Jr. is just not one of those bets I want to take considering the other players that will be taken around him.
60:23The same is said here in redraft. It's, it's, the price is a lot better.
60:28It's wide receiver 31, if I'm not mistaken, right?
60:31He's, he's down here. There he is. 72nd overall pick.
60:34So that's the end of the sixth round going around wide receivers like Parker Washington, Mike Evans is wide receivers in front of them.
60:42And then the wide receivers behind them are Carnell Tate and Brian Thomas Jr.
60:46Still, it doesn't make things better. This is almost exactly who you were choosing between in Dynasty startups was between these guys.
60:53And honestly, like give me Carnell Tate over Marvin Harrison Jr.
60:57I'll take the unknown upside with my sixth round pick over someone who's just shown us for two seasons that he just
61:04can't command the targets and get it done. Even as highly drafted as he was in the 2024 draft.
61:10You know what, man? I'm buying the Parker Washington hype.
61:13Give me Parker Washington over Mars, Marvin Harrison Jr.
61:16I think the trajectory of the Jaguars offense is only pointing up and Parker Washington is seemingly leading that trajectory.
61:23And now we have Jacoby Myers who's injured, which only means good things for Parker Washington and probably Brian Thomas Jr.
61:30If you want to take that shot, give me Brian Thomas Jr.
61:34as my wide receiver three over Marvin Harrison Jr.
61:36as my wide receiver three. It's just, this is almost like a vibes based thing too, because in training camp, he's been dropping passes.
61:44Like Michael Wilson has been outshining him. Is Michael Wilson good?
61:48I don't know. Probably not. But the fact that he's looking better than Marvin training camp can't, can't speak good things for Marvin Harrison Jr.
61:56here. I just, like I said, it's just a vibes thing, man.
62:00There's more that you could put on this too, right?
62:03Like, is there going to be enough targets? Like if, if they do decrease in the number of snaps that they have, right?
62:10I think it was up in the 600s of pass attempts last year.
62:15If they do regress down to the league average of around like 530, 550, right around there.
62:20And he's only commanding an 8%, 18% target share.
62:23That's not great, Bob. Like we're talking about like a hundred targets for Marvin Harrison Jr.
62:28I mean, last year he had 73. That doesn't seem right.
62:32A hundred targets on 500. That, that math may be not coming together.
62:36And as I, as well as I thought it was 50, 90 targets.
62:40Yeah. I don't know, man. I, where are you at with Marvin Harrison Jr.?
62:45Is it, is it as bleak as I'm at with him?
62:48Or are you drafting him anywhere? No. I mean, like if it's in the seventh round, it always, always like comes down to, um, to the build.
62:57Like if he's like a third wide receiver, I think he does have more upshot than some of the guys you're mentioning that he's going around.
63:05Um, like Parker Washington, DK Metcalf, Christian Watson, Carnell Tate.
63:08Like I do think that he has, um, uh, more upside.
63:12Like if he does put it together and we get like the JSN sort of like third year.
63:18Um, I mean, he was hurt last year, which is, I think is something that people are maybe taking into account, especially in dynasty.
63:26They're kind of giving him a pass. I mean, um, he didn't really play from week like 10.
63:31I think he came back a little bit and then like barely, um, played a few more games down the stretch.
63:38So he pretty much just didn't do much. And it wasn't horrible.
63:42If, if you take the first 10 games, you're looking at, uh, you know, roughly scoring 12 plus fantasy points.
63:48Most there was like three or four games that were pretty bad in there, but, um, Kyler was also playing pretty horrible last year.
63:56I mean, he ended up getting benched. We're hoping, you know, that turns around in, uh, Minnesota.
64:02But I, I don't know. I, it's hard to think that the NFL and everybody just got it so wrong.
64:08Like is he, is he just, he just can't play football.
64:12Like he was so good in college comes from the pedigree that he came from.
64:17Everybody expected him to be this, this guy that was going to be like the next, you know, big thing is, can
64:24we really have gotten it so wrong? Like the NFL and everybody fantasy community, it does feel without, you know, trying to retread too much.
64:32Like the JSN thing, like he's supposed to be elite.
64:35He's supposed to be this, that like he was hurt.
64:38He was this, then, you know, did they finally get the right coach?
64:42Like, did they finally write, find the right thing?
64:45Like, are they going to find the right way to use him?
64:49They're not pairing him with a good quarterback to at least help with that.
64:54Um, in, in terms of that, like, I think he barely played with Jacoby Brissett last year.
64:59So we don't really know how that chemistry is going to come into play.
65:04I think right when I think Jacoby Brissett took over like week six.
65:08So they got like three games in together. And in those three games, Marvin Harrison was decent against Dallas, which everybody was
65:15great with, um, against Dallas and then against Seattle, who's a pretty good, um, defense.
65:20Marvin Harrison was okay. He scored a touchdown and had 12 targets.
65:24Like, I mean, the games he played with Jacoby had 10 and 12 targets before getting hurt.
65:29So I don't know, like maybe he sees enough passes.
65:32Maybe he sees, um, enough volume, but like you're saying, like in that range, like if you think that he's doesn't have
65:40that ceiling, then why not just take Michael Wilson, his teammate a whole like round later?
65:45Right. He's got like Michael Wilson's going in the eighth Chris Godwin, who's rising up boards right now.
65:51He's going around like almost two rounds later. Like if it's my wide receiver three, um, and I don't need a ton of upside.
65:58Cause maybe I've already made those plays earlier, um, to give me like the safe floor of a Godwin give me the
66:05safe, um, you know, safer floor of like, I don't know, a QJ or somebody like that.
66:11Right. Like, uh, if you're in on the chargers offense.
66:14Yeah. I mean, right. It feels like a similar bet, but with a better situation and a better quarterback in general too.
66:21I, I too, as you were talking to her, I thought about Matt Waldman, which is, he puts out the rookie scouting
66:28profile every year, which is not only used by all the major fantasy analysts, but it's used a lot too, by NFL teams.
66:36Like they, they use his scouting process to, to look at these rookies coming in to, to evaluate the, their prospects.
66:43And he was out on Marvin Harrison jr. He did not like Marvin Harrison jr.
66:47Coming in as a 2024 Malik neighbors was the number one overall.
66:51I think he even had Roma Dunze over Marvin Harrison jr.
66:55And it, it, the thing that he always talks about the most is how he catches the football, which he wants to
67:02use his body to catch the football, which is, I guess, um, the calling card of his dad, Marvin Harrison senior, who, who did a lot of that.
67:11So it makes sense that he's catching like that, but there's, he's seen very few wide receivers be successful in the NFL, catching the ball like that.
67:20And maybe it just makes a ton of sense why we haven't seen him kind of put it all together.
67:26And maybe that's why you can go on Google right now and Google Marvin Harrison jr.
67:31And you can see a full minute of him dropping passes in training camp, just one after another.
67:37I don't know, man. Like I said, this is mostly a vibes take.
67:41I don't really have a lot of stats to kind of pad behind it, but I'm just out on Marvin Harrison jr.
67:48At the cost that you have to get them.
67:51Like you said, there's just so many better picks around him behind him that just feel safer or, or that also have
67:58a similar upside, but are just in better situations.
68:01So sorry, Marvin Harrison jr. But yeah, man, I think it's definitely one of those.
68:06Um, where he has the upside still. I still think he does have that if the Cardinals can be good.
68:13I mean, obviously if Jeremiah love is on this list and, and Marvin Harrison jr.
68:17Is on this list, we don't predict the Cardinals are going to be that great of a team.
68:23So if they aren't, it's just hard to see, you know, him returning that sort of value or just even having that
68:30safe floor week to week that you want to start them, right?
68:34If there's a lineup league, you don't really want that, you know, level wide receiver where you're drafting him to be a question mark every week.
68:43Like, Oh, do I need to start Marvin Harrison jr?
68:46Like what, what am I going to do? You know what I mean?
68:50So, um, I definitely, uh, agree with you on the take.
68:54Yeah. I've, I've been in that situation where the last two years I've drafted Marvin Harrison jr.
68:59In a couple of redraft leagues and every week it's like, am I really going to start this other guy over in Marvin Harrison jr right now?
69:08And like 80% of the time it was the right decision.
69:11So this year I'm just going to take that decision off my hands and, uh, leave it, leave it for somebody else.
69:18It was funny. We were doing a keeper league in our office this year and I drafted him in that league.
69:25And, you know, the, the commissioner was kind of poking fun at me.
69:29He's like, you know, you can make Marvin Harrison jr.
69:33Your keeper who I drafted in the fourth round.
69:36And I was like, or I could just not keep them and draft them two rounds later.
69:41Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Uh, so I'm done burying, uh, Marvin Harrison jr.
69:45Here, man. Should we hit the outro here and get on out of here?
69:49Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. Thanks guys for sticking with us.
