1:34We've told you who to draft. We've told you who not to draft.
1:38And today, we're putting it to use. What's up, everyone?
1:41It's the Fantasy Price Check. Pete and Wyatt here.
1:43And we're going to be doing a mock draft tonight on Sleeper to put into use all this advice we've been telling all of you.
1:51Pete's going to be drafting from the 12 spot.
1:54I'm going to be drafting from the 5 spot.
1:56It's a normal PPR league. Start one QB. Start three wide receivers.
2:00We're going to be talking while we draft against the computer.
2:03It's going to go by pretty fast. And then we're going to go through our teams after that and give some strategy
2:10and what we were thinking while we were drafting.
2:13Let's bring up the draft board and get started.
2:16Computer's going already. I'm up at the 105. JSN real nice and easy.
2:20Pete, at the 12 spot. How do you normally approach drafts?
2:23Yeah. I mean, the corners are my favorite spots on the board this year.
2:27I'm typically drafting, you know, Kenneth Walker or Chase Brown on the corner here.
2:31I have gotten a lot of Kenneth Walker exposure.
2:34So I'll go Chase Brown this time. And then really for me, AJ Brown and Kenneth Walker, my next two highest rated guys.
2:41So I try to get a little bit of exposure of both guys.
2:45I'm going to go ahead and take AJ Brown here.
2:48But yeah, typically I'm at least getting, I'm trying to get at least one running back in the first two rounds.
2:55I feel like it's much easier to anchor down with a running back and then, you know, tap the wide receivers in
3:01the next couple of rounds and then come back.
3:04So that's been my strategy. And I really, really do enjoy the corners.
3:08I'm living the dream here personally, because Kenneth Walker came back to me and anyone who's listened to us this summer knows
3:15that I'm all aboard the Kenneth Walker train. So getting him at the two eight feels wonderful for me, especially when I
3:21started out with a wide receiver in round one.
3:24And I'm not guaranteed getting one of those running backs to fall to me at that spot and that tier.
3:30So it's nice to get one. Boy, it's actually a tough decision for me in the round three between Jeremiah Love and Malik Nabors.
3:37But I'm going to go with Jeremiah Love, even though he's got a little bit of injury right now, just to make
3:44sure I lock in another running back that I feel good about as it gets back to you at the 12 spot.
3:51Yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to double tap wide receivers here in a start three wide receiver.
3:56Um, you know, it makes a ton of sense.
3:59Uh, I'll take, uh, Chris Olave here and I'll take Zay Flowers.
4:03Um, you know, just to start through wide receivers.
4:05Now I don't have to worry about chasing wide receivers later.
4:09I anchor down with elite running back and I pretty much feel like you open up yourself to going to an elite quarterback.
4:16If it falls back to me on the, on the, on the, you know, five, six turn, getting maybe a tight end
4:22if they slide or just taking one of those running backs.
4:26Like a David Montgomery kind of that kind of guy.
4:29I get put in a tough spot here with my pick.
4:32Uh, cause not, none of the wide receivers I thought would actually come back, came back.
4:37So I'm actually just going to go real high T right here and taking the running back.
4:42I love your wide receiver so far. I'm interested and we're going to get, I have to get into it later about the AJ Brown pick.
4:50Cause that is definitely above market. So that's, I'm going to put a pin in that one for one to talk about
4:57after this draft is over for sure. Yeah. Back up to me.
5:01I definitely need to hit up a wide receiver at this point.
5:04Little Jameson Williams. All right. Going back at you.
5:07Is a flowers at the four one. I mean, even though you put fourth round, but it's, it's at the turn.
5:13So it's basically a third round pick, but still, I love that pick for you.
5:18So yeah, definitely lucky to get that. I'm sitting here.
5:21Burden goes ahead of me running backs. I don't really love the running backs in this spot, but, um, I'm going to go with Jardarian price.
5:29Jardarian Price. One day you'll get it. One day I will get it.
5:33DJ more goes ahead of me, which is kind of a bummer.
5:36Cause I'm a fan. Uh, Mike Evans is somebody that we should definitely talk about at some point too.
5:42Uh, he's falling. I've, I've moved him down my rankings too.
5:46We definitely would love to chat about him at some point as well.
5:49Um, kind of tough here. Cause I don't really like the running backs on the board.
5:54I don't want to chase these running backs either.
5:57Uh, so I'll stick to my process. It's still a start three wide receiver draft.
6:02So I'm going to go with Rome Dunze. Uh, unfortunately hate passing up on Mike Evans, but with third injury, this camp,
6:08um, it's, it's really hard right now to take him unless he's falling towards like that seventh round for me right now.
6:15Uh, one little thing I noticed in sleeper ADP and sleeper drafts is that I think like almost all the tight ends are priced pretty aggressively.
6:23So I tend to always wait when I'm in sleeper draft because they all go ahead of where I want anyone who's
6:30drafting on sleeper, who's anchored to the ADP a little bit is going to draft the tight end before I'm willing to do so.
6:37Um, yeah, that's one of the things that he, uh, even in home leagues, you know, you're going to be drafting this
6:44year, Sam LaPorta going in like the sixth round.
6:46Like for example, me and Jeremiah drafted and I got Jeremiah, Jeremiah in a high stakes draft yesterday night at like the
6:53one Oh eight Sam LaPorta, you know, he's going like 50, 60 spots higher in this draft.
6:58Yeah. Um, I kind of, I hate sleep. Yeah.
7:01They're all aggressive, right? It's tough. Yeah. Not a fan of the sleeper ADP.
7:05I would have probably, I would have taken Parker Washington over Rome, but again with the ADP and just because we get
7:1230 seconds and we're going quick here. Um, I, I didn't even realize Parker was still there.
7:17He's just always so buried in his, in his ADP, which is a nice thing too.
7:22Um, he would have been my pick if he was there and caused me to, to panic a little bit at my
7:29pick, go with Justin Herbert, just because, uh, I just genuinely didn't like most of the players in the area.
7:35And so I always take a quarterback. I feel good about, you know, and I'll worry about the rest later.
7:41Yep. It's a good strategy. Yeah. It's, it does start to get pretty ugly at this point, but I'm going to take
7:47someone who, uh, has been shooting up draft boards, but it's still kind of low in sleeper ADP and that's Jonathan Brooks.
7:54Yeah. Yeah. Well, good. There are some good players we've drafted so far in terms of players that we can talk about with the market.
8:02Brooks is going to be one of them. Um, I'm not really a fan of where he's been shooting up.
8:08Um, but at this price in the eighth round, I mean, if you're telling, if you're telling me you can get him
8:15behind Kyle Mononga, this just goes to show how ridiculous sleeper ADP is.
8:19Um, but he'll be so important to learn the ADP of the site you're drafting on.
8:23Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Um, I'm stuck between Casey Conception and Diggs here.
8:27Um, you're the, you're the Browns fan. Would you, would you, would you prefer Casey over Diggs at this point?
8:33Or I would, I would, but I, I, I, for, for this question, I'll say you should take Diggs.
8:39So that Casey can, has a chance coming back to me.
8:42I'm like, I, I'm looking at my rankings and I, I have, uh, I have Casey, uh, just below Diggs right now
8:49at like wide receiver 43 behind downs. Diggs is wide receiver 40 for me.
8:53So, but I'm not, once you get to that kind of spot, it's like, I'm not hell bent.
8:59There's guys I like, and there's guys that I don't typically draft.
9:02Yeah. The Browns showing in the preseason that they are just going to use them in a lot of different ways.
9:09Um, I think, you know, just solidifies my thoughts on him as a player and how good he can be in the NFL.
9:16So, yeah. Uh, we talked about him and we talked about the Zay flowers role with Mock and going over there.
9:22Okay. Um, let's go with the other San Francisco.
9:25I was trying to find a John stripling. Did was he already drafted?
9:29Did I miss it? Oh, it was right before me.
9:32That's why. Yeah. He goes an interesting pick too.
9:35I think he's super, super undervalued right now. So, uh, I, I think one, the Depot or just stripling, at least one
9:41of is going to be a really good value.
9:44Yeah. Yep. Me too. Juwan Johnson there at the turn.
9:47I like a lot, especially with the Jordan Tyson injury.
9:50Yeah, I do. I have Johnson decently high in my rankings.
9:53Um, I have met 15 for tight end this year.
9:56So, uh, getting him here behind Gadsden. I mean, Gadsden, I, I haven't buried in my rankings.
10:02Just, I don't know if the signals and the signs feel like they're there, but I love Johnson.
10:07A lot of less target competition with Kamara now and Tyson being hurt.
10:11All right. We're in the last round. We're going to finish up this round and then we're going to take a short break.
10:18And when we get back, we are going to be talking through our teams.
10:22The NFFC, my favorite high stakes fantasy platform. Why?
10:25Third round reversal. Kentucky Derby draft slot allocation. So it's a lottery based system where you can put in your preference where you want to draft.
10:33It's full PPR. There's three receivers. It's the best place to play fantasy football, especially for high stakes.
10:38And now they've combined with the FFWC. They have a lot more contests to offer.
10:43In fact, they have a double crown bonus where you can join the NFFC primetime.
10:48And if you win that 300 grand, you can also join the circle world championship.

13:00Pete, we finished up our draft. Why don't you tell everybody, remind them who all you picked, go through your draft, and give some thoughts on it.
13:08Yeah. So, again, start three wide receivers. I anchored down at the running back position with Chase Brown on my first pick.
13:15And then I came back with A.J. Brown. We'll talk about A.J.
13:18in a second. But running back room. So, Chase Brown, Jardarian Price.
13:22The rest of my running backs are Kenneth Gainwell and Marshawn Lloyd and Rico Dowdle.
13:27Obviously, we have this Josh Jacobs thing. I was ranking Jacobs high.
13:30I was drafting him well above where he was being priced at ADP.
13:34But we'll see what shakes out. I don't want to put a take out there on him right now because I just
13:41really don't know what's going to happen. And now that this new information came out.
13:45Trevor Lawrence at quarterback. Wide receivers A.J. Brown, Chris Alave, Zay Flowers, Jawan Johnson, Roma Doonze.
13:50I got Casey Conception and my guy Jalen Coker, who I do have ranked in the top 100.
13:56He's my 98th ranked player. I don't think you have to take him that high, but I have him right there.
14:02Not a lot of target competition. So, yeah, I'm pretty happy with the build.
14:06I would have preferred Parker Washington over Rome. But Sleepy ADP doing this on video and 37 o'clock got me a little messed up there.
14:14I like the build. It's slightly closer to like Hero RB, but like you came back at running back early enough.
14:20It's not like exactly Hero RB, but the wide receivers are really strong.
14:24And I still think that you got enough running back firepower to be able to compete.
14:29Trevor Lawrence, I thought was a nice pick value.
14:32Jawan Johnson weighing a late tight end, I think is one to go for, who you'll find out really early, like the
14:39role that he's going to have with Jordan Tyson out.
14:42Can really like buoy that position for you and possibly just be your guy all season long.
14:47I mean, that's what it kind of was for people last year and offense expects to be better.
14:52So, I was digging it. But I wanted to come back to AJ Brown.
14:57I said, you know, because this is certainly above market.
15:00And I've been into AJ Brown this offseason, but I don't think I'd be drafting this high.
15:05So, sell me on the AJ Brown at 201.
15:08Yeah. And by the way, can you zoom in just a tick, a little bit tick more on the board just so
15:14it's a little bit, maybe a little bit more clear?
15:17I think that's a little bit better. AJ Brown, yeah, I feel like we've been sold that we have to take Justin Jefferson, have to take Justin Jefferson.
15:26In this case, Jefferson goes in the first round.
15:29So, it makes that decision for me a little bit easier.
15:32But I've been talking about this for the last week or so.
15:36I feel like when you look at AJ and you look at Jefferson and the situations, I'm taking Drake May, the guy
15:42with the better quarterback, you know, nine times out of ten.
15:46And I understand Justin Jefferson is one of, if not the most talented wide receivers in football.
15:51We've seen plenty of cases where talent doesn't win out.
15:54And we've seen plenty of cases where talent does win out.
15:57And Justin Jefferson has been pretty much consistently great for fantasy football outside of when he's played with, you know, J.J.
16:04McCarthy. But this is not just a Justin Jefferson thing.
16:07I worry about, you know, Kyler being such an upgrade in people's minds that I don't know that the layups are going to be there for Justin Jefferson.
16:15And that's kind of what I worry about. I think the deep shots, I think the big plays will be there.
16:22But I do worry about, like, the short stuff.
16:24I just don't feel like Kyler's going to be able to play on time, play on rhythm, play on schedule.
16:30And that'll hurt Justin Jefferson in some ways. And I also just look at it like there's a world where that offense is a disaster.
16:38I'm sorry. Like, I understand there's a lot of talent.
16:41I trust KOC. But, like, I just keep closing my eyes and thinking about the Vikings.
16:46And I could just see Kyler just absolutely throwing up all over himself.
16:50I know that that's not the popular take right now.
16:53But I could very much see this offense not being very good or this team not being very good.
16:59So I have some concerns. They had a lot of issues on the O-line last year.
17:04You know, I could see that being an issue again this year.
17:07And I just, again, I look at AJ. People talk about this knee issue.
17:11But the truth is it did come out from McVay this week that part of why he didn't want to trade for
17:18AJ was because he dug more into the Devontae Adams tape.
17:21And he felt like there was more there. Now, that's what was said.
17:25I don't know if that's maybe him putting information out there to cover his tracks and make Devontae feel better.
17:31But I just, even if AJ's lost a little bit of a step, Wyatt, there's not a lot of target competition there.
17:38And he's playing with a massive upgrade. Jake May right now is the best quarterback that he's ever played with when it
17:45comes to just playing the position and facilitating, regardless of legs.
17:48And that's not a knock on Hertz. It's just the truth.
17:52So that's where I am with AJ. I know that's a long-winded take.
17:56But we got a lot of time to fill here.
17:59So, yeah, figured I'd lay it out on the table for you.
18:02But, you know, just saying, you know, Jefferson has Murray and AJ Brown has May is a simple yet compelling argument.
18:09If we're being honest, it is actually, you know, a pretty big deal.
18:13I think the bigger question for me is just, is AJ Brown still in his prime while Justin Jefferson is certainly in his prime?
18:20Yeah. And that matters. So I guess where I'm going to come out on this is that if you take AJ Brown
18:27to 201, I'm not going to argue with you because I think, you know, just saying the argument you did, it is
18:33compelling enough for me to not have a problem with it.
18:37I probably still wouldn't do it, but I don't have an issue with it whatsoever.
18:41I'm going to go into my team a little bit and then I've got a pin for a few players for us to chat about after that.
18:49But so the strength of my team is definitely the running backs.
18:53I started with JSN, but then came back with Kenneth Walker, Jeremiah Love and Travis Etienne.
18:58I'm expecting those three to be a really big part of my fancy team and kind of, you know, carry me through the course of the season.
19:06Came back at wide receiver with Jamie Williams and Christian Watson to big play.
19:10But, you know, obviously there's going to be some variability of the weekly scoring, but I was falling a little bit behind at wide receiver here.
19:18So I'm trying to take some shots at some wide receivers who can put up some high end scores.
19:24And when I have the what I think will be consistent high end running back production for my team with Walker Love
19:31Etienne, I'm more willing to take on multiple, you know, volatile wide receivers like that.
19:35Who can hit those, you know, week winning weeks for me while the running backs keep the consistency going.
19:41I took Justin Herbert in seventh when I was in a spot where I didn't really love the players.
19:47Kind of mentioned it while we were drafting and I was like, well, I do really like Justin Herbert this year.
19:53So I'm just going to take the QB. Come back with Jonathan Brooks, Jaden Reed filling out my depth a little bit
20:00with some players I just like in general. Took my tight end with Mark Andrews where I was in a spot where
20:07I was like, OK, I think this is the end of a tier.
20:11Basically, we're right here with Andrews and Goddard had just gone.
20:14And I thought that was the end of that tier.
20:17So I was just trying to lock in a player from there.
20:21And then I can decide, you know, if this team was real and I'm going in the season, like I'd probably just go in with Mark Andrews.
20:29See what it looks like early season. I might end up streaming the position, but I'm going to feel OK about that
20:36because I think I'm strong enough everywhere else. Finish up my depth with Debo Samuel, Denzel Boston, Keaton Mitchell.
20:41I love Keaton Mitchell's price on sleeper as well.
20:44I think that he's going cheaper on non-best ball sites because people think it's going to probably be hard to predict when you can actually play Keaton Mitchell.
20:53But I think there is enough possibility that he has a big enough weekly role that we're actually going to still care
20:59about him in seasonal leagues where you have to actually choose to put him in your lineup.
21:04I think I think that is possible. It's on the table.
21:08Do you have any questions for me about my team?
21:11Yeah, I mean, you go Jeremiah Love in the third round.
21:14You pass up on Malik Neighbors. You talk about how you had to chase the wide receiver position.
21:20Looking back on it, you could have ETN as your running back, too, if you went Neighbors in the third and then kept with ETN in the fourth.
21:28If you could go back and do it over, would you have preferred with how your team shook out, preferred to go with Neighbors in that spot?
21:36Yeah, I would have. I would have absolutely taken Malik Neighbors there.
21:40I didn't expect like every single wide receiver I would have loved to have taken at my next pick to go in between.
21:47Yeah. So when it came back, it's like, well, I'm not going to I don't want to reach at this point on a player.
21:54So I'm just going to take who I think is the best player available.
21:59They happen to be running back and I'll try and make up the wide receiver position later.
22:04But yeah, going back, it's easy Neighbors. I, you know, even if everything else is the same, like Jeremiah Love goes directly
22:10after me, all the picks are the same. I take Travis ETN still the same.
22:15I just give myself flexibility after that. Like, I don't feel pressured into Christian Watson in the sixth round.
22:21Like, I still like JMO at that pick regardless.
22:23I probably would have still taken him. But it's that next pick or even at the Herbert pick where I'm not feeling
22:30pressured at other positions and just giving myself more flexibility.
22:33I would have liked that for sure. Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense.
22:37So you brought up Mike Evans during the draft, how you want to talk about him.
22:42I imagine that's because he just keeps dealing with an injury like over and over.
22:46Really, it's we've had multiple different injuries at this point now, too, during training camp.
22:51I'm worried. Are you worried? I am. It's it's a bummer with Evans.
22:55Evans. Every single week, you know, you're getting freaked out because he's not practicing on Thursday.
23:00And then he's going to you know what I'm saying?
23:03Like, it's just it's early for this. And I was a big proponent of drafting Evans.
23:08So it is a bummer for me. I have dropped him in my rankings wide.
23:12I have him at the wide receiver 30 right behind Christian Watson, right ahead of Brian Thomas Jr.
23:18and Cortland Sutton and Chris Godwin. Feels pretty properly priced there.
23:21So if Evans does fall, I'll absolutely take him.
23:24But right now that ADP has to come down for me.
23:27Yeah, I don't have much to add. I agree with the placement of where you put Mike Evans in that wide receiver 30 range.
23:34I think that makes sense. I'm with you on that.
23:37I did want to mention Jordan Tyson, you know, middle of the eighth round now here.
23:42I've seen him fall further than that. Is there a spot where you feel comfortable with Jordan Tyson at this point?
23:49It seems like he could miss half the season potentially.
23:52Yeah, I'm not touching Tyson in the first the first 100 picks, probably not the first 110 112.
23:57So that kind of puts me like right there, like right after 112.
24:01Once we start getting to that, I want to say 11th round to 12th round, I think is fair.
24:07I got him last night in the 12th, I think it was in NFFC.
24:11So I'm happy with that. If you have IR spots, you can slot him in there.
24:16Sometimes I don't mind doing that, especially a guy with his kind of talent.
24:20You get to get to put him on IR and then you get to add a speculative player in the first week
24:27or two that you're fine churning and rotating that spot until Tyson does come back, which could take a month or so.
24:34But you also could hit on a guy early in season where sometimes people are very hard to not drop guys.
24:40I always like having a guy that is kind of disposable at the end of my roster.
24:45So grabbing Tyson, that's pretty much the range I would say I'd be comfortable with.
24:50Yeah, I've been saying like start. I think it's okay to start thinking about him like round 10, depending on how the draft's gone.
24:57So I think we're pretty much in line on Tyson at this point.
25:01It's just like hopefully, you know, they don't bring him back too quickly.
25:05So when he does come back, he's ready to go and he's playing well down the stretch when it matters most.
25:11But even that's a little bit of a shaky proposition, especially considering his injury history with these hamstrings.
25:17So yeah, if it 10th round, 11th round and you hit on it and he's really good for the back half of the season, you'll be happy.
25:25But like anything before that and he doesn't do that, I mean, it's going to be really bad for you.
25:31I mean, we're like before the 10th round, we're still talking about drafting players that you have to count on for the season.
25:38This isn't necessarily depth or it's like a first person up off your bench who you will have to use.
25:44Injuries happen, bioways happen. Like I don't want to have to rely on Jordan Tyson.
25:49I want him to be a cherry on top of a team where I've got depth already.
25:54I feel good about the position and if he hits, you know, I really overloaded the position and I'm just like lapping
26:01my my league mates at the position. Before we get out of here, were there any other players that you had a pin to talk about?
26:09Yeah, a couple quick hitters. Jonathan Brooks talked a little bit about that.
26:13I'm, you know, in many such cases, especially if you're playing in a sharp home league, you know, he's going fifth round.
26:19It's just not a price I'm willing to touch.
26:22Curious about your thoughts on him. But Hubbard is rumored to be ready to go potentially for week one.
26:28So offensive line is pretty bad. You know, they're banged up with both of their tackles right now.
26:33I have some concerns with Brooks, not not as a talent.
26:37Look, I think a lot of people will sit there and say, did you watch him in college?
26:42He's super talented. But college was a couple of years ago and it was a fresher ACL ago.
26:48I'm not sitting here saying that he's not going to be decent, but I think we've jumped the shark a little bit,
26:54putting him in that fifth round where he is consistently going now.
26:58So that's a price that I'm just not really touching.
27:01Do you feel the same way or where are you at with him?
27:05Yeah, no, I'm with you. I see that like in a lot of these high stakes leagues, you know, he's go like you said, it's fifth round.
27:13Like he's way up to like people are trying to stake their claim on on John Brooks.
27:18And it's just too much for me at this point.
27:21I think his ADP being in the 80s is appropriate.
27:2470s is probably fine. I don't really have too much of an issue with that.
27:29Like it's that's where it's starting to get like really shaky.
27:32But in places like sleeper, you don't have to worry about that if you're paying attention to the ADP and you can wait.
27:39Even if you're playing with people who also are familiar with the sleeper ADP and know that they can wait, you can
27:46just, you know, go a little bit earlier than that.
27:49Like seventh round is fine, I think, to take John Brooks.
27:52And you're still technically getting a discount compared to where he's going in a lot of places.
27:57Yeah, I'm with you. The fifth is too much.
28:00Yeah, I have Brooks ranked 81 right now. So it sounds like we're pretty aligned with kind of where our thoughts are.
28:07You took Debo Samuel Wyatt. I've talked about him consistently the last two weeks.
28:11He's ranked like 125, even in high stakes leagues.
28:14He's going at like 120 area. I know there's a lot of steam on stripling.
28:18Let's just say stripling is good with the Mike Evans stuff going on too.
28:23There's potential that, you know, he could miss some time.
28:26Debo seems to be in really good shape. Um, I'm, I'm very excited to get Debo Samuel at this cost right now.
28:32We know that Sue Shanahan knows how to use him and they signed him to a decent contract.
28:38They gave him like seven, $8 million, which I know you're going to sit there.
28:42People are going to say, well, that's nothing. But it wasn't like this was a guy that waited out and got like two, three, $4 million.
28:50Um, like a Najee Harris kind of deal. I think, I think he's going to be used.
28:56So I was impressed, uh, with the pick getting him at where you did.
29:00Um, I know you wanted stripling sound of like, but yeah.
29:03Um, I'm still good with Debo where he's going, man.
29:06I think it's a really good low risk, high reward bet to make right now.
29:11Yeah. I just want them both in this general spot.
29:14Like I said, during, while we were drafting, I, I just, I think that one of them has a really good chance,
29:20like a chance, or there's a chance that a good chance.
29:24One of them, uh, is a nice value for fantasy this season.
29:27Like I, there's a chance that they're both just fine because like everyone else on the team manages to stay healthy enough
29:34that, you know, like Evans is catching a lot of touchdowns.
29:38Chris McCaffrey's been doing his thing. Kittle's doing his thing.
29:41And there's not enough leftover for both of them to be values.
29:44They're both kind of like helping, but neither really breaking out.
29:48Uh, but I would just say like history has shown us that someone's, on this team is missing some time, you know,
29:54like, uh, whether it's Kittle, you know, re injuring himself or being slow coming back.
29:59Mike Evans messes up his hamstring, CMC, whatever. But like, uh, I just think they're both priced really well at this point
30:06for the range of outcomes that they both have.
30:08If injuries happen around them, either one of them could be highly productive.
30:12I also, I think there's a chance they can be highly productive together too, because I think that they're going to use
30:19Debo Samuel more as that like wide back, like they did in the past because the running back depth after Chris McCaffrey is pretty weak.
30:26So it's possible they could both just be doing their same thing at the same time.
30:31So yeah, I just want to be drafting both of them.
30:35No, that's a good point. I have one more guy and then we can get out of here that I wanted your thoughts on.
30:42I've talked about it a lot lately, but Jonah Coleman, um, he goes 13th round here.
30:47Uh, I was drafting in an NFC draft with Jeremiah and RJ Harvey went behind Dobbins and Jonah Coleman.
30:53I think that's a mistake. Um, I happen to like Jonah Coleman Wyatt and I feel I'm pretty plugged in with Denver.
30:59The problem that I have with drafting Coleman, where a lot of times people are taking him somewhere on one 20, uh,
31:06when that one 20 area now, uh, why it is I don't Coleman doesn't really, to me, have a path to getting
31:13touches unless there's an injury, uh, or touches enough where he's startable, right?
31:17I know Sean Payton, everyone loves the offense cause he throws to the running backs and you say, well, it can be
31:23Dobbins and Harvey, but like the truth is Harvey's got the receiving role locked down and Dobbins is going to be the early down guy.
31:31Now Dobbins has had the injury history, but I do worry that sometimes we draft guys like a Jonah Coleman and then
31:38four or five weeks into the season, he's getting four touches a game and then you're dropping him.
31:43Right. And you're taking him over guys that could have been much more like a Marshawn Lloyd, for example, who I get
31:50behind Jonah Coleman, who obviously with the Jacob stuff, there's, there's some steam there.
31:54Um, but what are your thoughts there? Cause I just feel like with Coleman, it's just so hard to get three backs involved.
32:01And I just, I don't see it unless there's an injury.
32:04And I just, if he was back in the one fifties, one sixties, I'd be okay with it.
32:10But taking him where, you know, he's like your fifth player on your bench in an eight bench, you know, there's, there's,
32:17there's still some players that I would prefer over him that I think can, can have an impact without an injury in that area.
32:24So surprisingly, Jonah Coleman was actually one of my most drafted running backs in best ball this off season.
32:30A lot of that was just because, uh, he was, he's been going in like the one fifties, one sixties for most of the off season.
32:38And I thought he was a pretty good bet on, uh, some volatility in the backfield.
32:42If an injury happens to JK Dobbins or what, or, or even RJ Harvey, because he's good.
32:48He's a better pass catcher than Dobbins that Coleman could find a way at some point in the season.
32:53And for that price, it's worth it to, to play into something happening.
32:57Right. Uh, and, and the fact that I thought Jonah Coleman was a pretty good prospect overall.
33:03Um, I didn't really think like there would be much of a chance, like you were saying that he'd really find a relevant role.
33:10You're one. I mean, I was saying this, we talked about this when we were doing dynasty.
33:15He was talking about rookie drafts. Like, I don't know why these rookie running backs are getting pushed up in dynasty rookie
33:22drafts so far when I don't think they have a real chance to be relevant in year one, but I'll be, I've
33:28changed my tune a little bit on Jonah Coleman for year one in Denver, mostly because of the way that Sean Payton
33:35has acted with Coleman and talking about how he has a role in mind for him like right away.
33:41And when you think about it, he does have like Coleman is the best pass blocker amongst the backs without a doubt.
33:48And that doesn't always equal fancy points. It equals snaps.
33:51It doesn't always equal fancy points, but it does help him get on the field.
33:55Right. And we do know that Coleman is the type of player where he's not dynamic in any one area, but he's
34:02just kind of like does everything correctly and well and, and good enough.
34:06Right. Uh, so if he's getting on the field opportunities come, if they do come, he does well with them.
34:12They can't earn more, but really what it is, is thinking about, we know that RJ Harvey struggled as a runner, as
34:19a rookie, just the vision's not quite there for him.
34:22Um, it's all, all in the metrics. You can look it up, you know?
34:26So if he's not there as a runner, JK Dobbins is, but he's obviously not part of the future of this team.
34:33Sure. Is there a chance? Jonah Coleman shows enough that Sean Payton's like, well, this is my guy.
34:38You know, could he start to earn some more that way?
34:41And if he's getting all these assignments, right, he's doing all these things, right.
34:46He's in their past blocking do the eventually. Okay.
34:48Let's get him some, some targets too. You don't like, I could see how it could build in his ADP growing right now.
34:55Um, isn't a surprise because of that, especially like, was it the first preseason game?
35:00Like they got him in there for like two runs.
35:03Jonah Coleman looked awesome. They pulled him after it.
35:06When Sean Payton was asked about afterwards, he was like, oh yeah, I saw all I needed to see.
35:11And I was like, oh, does that mean like, you just want to make sure everything is on practice was going to happen on the field.
35:19It did. And he's like, yep. I knew this was my dude.
35:23Um, you know, it could mean nothing. It could be something, but I think the, him going up an ADP is warranted
35:30and I don't have a problem with it. Yeah.
35:32The last thing, the last thing I would say on it is I just think that you have to, you have to be okay.
35:40Stomaching taking a guy in like one 20 range and knowing that he's probably not going to contribute until halfway through the season.
35:47I agree with you that I think Coleman's going to have a role.
35:51Sure. The back half of the year, but it felt more palatable when he was a last couple rounds pick to now
35:57being like a 11th or 12th round pick, which I've seen him go a lot.
36:02And even in this draft, he goes 13. Um, but it's sleeper and you have guys like Zach Charbonnet going ahead of him.
36:09Like I think he would go ahead of some of those guys.
36:13Um, so yeah, that's, that's just my thought. And then I think, I think Harvey, yes, the, the rushing is an issue with him.
36:20We'll see if he took a step forward. I just think people gloss over the fact that he did have 12 touchdowns
36:27last year and he was a second round pick and Peyton reached on him.
36:31It wasn't just like, uh, they picked him like Peyton got a lot of crap for reaching up and grabbing him.
36:37People thought it was a pretty bad pick at the time and it turned out well.
36:42So I just find it hard to believe that he's going to be phased out, but to your point, Dobbins not part of the future.
36:50So makes a lot of sense to imagine, but if Dobbins looks good, this team's a super is trying to win a super bowl this year.
36:58I don't think they're going to be thinking too much about the future.
37:02If Jacob Dobbins is running the way he did last year.
37:05Um, and I expect him to do so as long as he stays healthy, which is really what it all comes down
37:12to at the end of the day for Coleman.
37:14I just felt comfortable more taking him later than I do now.
37:18Um, because I know for me, I turned the bench on my roster consistently in season.
37:23Um, so you just have to be comfortable with that.
37:26So, um, but in best ball, totally don't mind taking him a little bit of a different play there for sure.
37:32Yeah. I'll wrap up, uh, this talk on Coleman by just saying, I do think that he is a better best ball
37:39pick than he is a redraft pick because the things you said, like you're not going to feel confident starting him for a while.
37:46Whereas in best ball, like it's possible you could catch a touchdown pass or whatever or like run one in and, you
37:53know, make, make your best ball in it, but you would never have been playing him.
37:58Right. And I would guess that Sean Payton wants this to be a Jonah Coleman, RJ Harvey show.
38:03Like this Jonah Coleman take is not an anti Harvey take.
38:07Like, I think if that was their pairing, like that would be great for Sean Payton.
38:12If those two were playing that well, you know what I mean?
38:15Yeah. That they didn't have to rely on JK Dobbins.
38:18Not that relying on JK Dobbins is a bad thing necessarily.
38:22It's just like, everyone's very aware that at any point he could go down.
38:26So I imagine Sean Payton would like Harvey and Coleman to be the two dudes in that backfield, but that's going to
38:33do it for this episode of fantasy price check.
