Alec Pierce

PositiveRole42:15

Alec Pierce received a $114M contract (4 years, $84M guaranteed), signaling the Colts expect him to take on more than just stretching the field. However, the source is skeptical Pierce will be very good for fantasy football, believing he will stay in his current role of stretching the field and catching deep bombs despite the team's public statements that he will handle way more targets. The speaker notes Pierce had high-volume target weeks (13, 10, 8 targets) during the season, suggesting he could handle more responsibility, but remains skeptical he will be a massive producer.

Insight page

Bhayshul Tuten

NegativeBust21:30

The source is skeptical of Tuten's hype despite a fan club forming around him. He averaged only 3.7 yards per carry last year and faces competition from LaQuint Allen and Justice Hill on third down. At RB22 in the fifth round (ADP), he's a mid-round dart throw on a player the source is not 100% certain will deliver, with the source leaning toward David Montgomery as the safer choice between the two.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

NegativeProjection33:15

CJ Stroud is viewed as a game manager at this point. He averaged 13 fantasy points per game in year two and 14.9 last year with a mid-60s completion percentage. He only had three top-12 finishes in each of the last two years and doesn't generate prolific weeks. The source notes that taking fewer chances is probably what the team needs most, which limits his upside.

Insight page

Calvin Ridley

NegativeRole53:58

The source indicates Calvin Ridley was not the focal point the Titans needed in their offense, grouping him with Io Manor and DK Metcalf as role players rather than focal points of the offense.

Insight page

Cam Ward

PositiveProjection55:56

The source identifies Cam Ward as having significant upside for 2024. Ward ranked number one in the NFL in completion percentage above expectation in the red zone, indicating strong efficiency in high-leverage situations. Despite playing the toughest schedule in the NFL last year, Ward improved over the back half of the season, demonstrating developmental trajectory. The source believes Ward has the potential for a big step forward this year, particularly with the addition of Carnell Tate as a focal point receiver in the Titans' offense.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

PositiveBreakout53:54

Carnell Tate, the fourth overall pick in the draft, is identified as the primary value play and real focal point of the Titans' offense, unlike Calvin Ridley, Io Manor, and DK Metcalf who are role players. The speaker ranks Tate at WR27 (moved up live), projects him for 7 touchdowns, and states: 'If I leave a draft and I have Carnell Tate, I'm excited.' The speaker made a live adjustment upward, increasing his target percentage, believing Tate must have way more targets than Wandale Robinson.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveProjection38:00

Dalton Schultz continues to be the second-highest target earner for the Texans, which the source views as suboptimal for an offense to thrive. Having a tight end as your second target is not ideal for offensive production, limiting Schultz's upside in a pass-heavy role.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

PositiveProjection40:00

Daniel Jones is recovering well from his Achilles injury, has been at practice and participated in everything. In 12 starts with the Colts, he was a prolific pocket passer (not a runner like with the Giants) on pace for 4,400 yards and 28 touchdowns with only 6 picks on 516 passing attempts and 71% completion percentage. He was electric with Tyler Warren and Michael Pittman. The source is optimistic about his return and believes his presence will help open up the running game for Jonathan Taylor by preventing defenses from stacking the box.

Insight page

David Montgomery

PositiveProjection28:00

The source is increasingly optimistic on David Montgomery for Houston. He will carry a lion's share of the backfield as a three-down back, and the source projects 12 touchdowns as reasonable. Montgomery is a volume guy who will benefit from Houston's elite defense keeping them in leads late in games, allowing him to salt the clock away. At 29 years old and in year nine, he's the exact profile the source usually bets against, but the source believes he can sustain a featured role for 14 quality games. He had 13 touchdowns and 1,000 yards in 2023 when he finished as RB13.

Insight page

Jayden Higgins

PositiveRole34:45

Jaden Higgins passed the eyeball test but was disappointed in his utilization as a rookie; he didn't get as many snaps as expected and the team preferred veteran Christian Kirk. The source is hopeful that in year two, with experience, Higgins will play 85+ percent of snaps on the outside. Houston is favored in six of the first seven games, including a juicy early schedule against Buffalo, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Dallas, Tennessee, Jacksonville, and the Giants.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeProjection41:00

Jonathan Taylor will benefit from Daniel Jones returning to the Colts; when Jones was removed and the team had no deep threat, defenses could stack the box and stop Taylor. With Jones back, the source is more optimistic Taylor will get better offensive support and not face the same defensive stacking. However, the source expresses concern about Taylor's fragility from a fantasy perspective, noting the Colts' inconsistent record (9-8, 9-8, 8-9, 4-12 in recent years) and 8.5-win projection. The speaker suggests if the Colts lose 10 games, Taylor owners will be unhappy, and questions whether RB3 is the right spot given the team's volatility. Taylor is currently drafted as RB3.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveRole42:40

Josh Downs is expected to take over the Michael Pittman role with increased outside routes; the team has said he will be more involved with more outside routes than he's ever had before, positioning him as a key target in the Colts' passing game. The source indicates Downs will receive more outside routes than ever before and will have increased opportunity in the Colts offense, though notes Downs has never played outside routes at a high level before.

Insight page

Luther Burden

PositiveBust23:55

Despite all the excitement and hype, Luther Burden is going into year two and the source questions whether he will turn into a breakout. The source prefers Parker Washington in a similar situation, noting that while Burden has excitement and draft capital, Washington has more proven production over a longer period and is a better value play.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

NegativeDepth Chart42:00

Michael Pittman was a target hog for the Colts but is now gone; Josh Downs is expected to take over the Michael Pittman role with more outside routes than he's ever had before, though the team hasn't explicitly said Downs is taking over the role.

Insight page

Nico Collins

NegativeProjection32:45

Nico Collins is very good but will be capped by limited passing volume from CJ Stroud and Houston's elite defense. Stroud averaged 13 fantasy points per game in year two and 14.9 last year with a mid-60s completion percentage and only three top-12 finishes in each of the last two years. Collins will get more top-12 weekly finishes than explosive weeks, and the source wishes he was on a team with a worse defense to unlock his upside.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveSleeper23:18

The source is getting closer to Parker Washington over Luther Burden despite Burden's hype. Washington's production was solid over a long period last year, especially after the bye week, and he plays the slot position which has been a fantasy dominator. The source notes that Washington is going into year four on a 13-4 team and may be a steal due to lack of name recognition compared to Burden, who has more excitement and draft capital but less proven production over a longer period.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeProjection59:00

The source expresses concern about Tony Pollard's fantasy outlook despite his four consecutive 1,000-rushing-yard seasons. Pollard finished as RB23 last year with only 5 touchdowns despite 283 opportunities and playing all 17 games, earning the label 'fantasy vegetables' from the speaker. At age 29, the speaker believes Pollard is not getting better as a player and is getting worse. The speaker projects him to finish in the RB23 range even if everything goes well, noting the Titans' offense ranked 30th in points per game and 31st in yards per game last year.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

PositiveValue40:30

Tyler Warren was electric with Daniel Jones in the Colts' passing game and is positioned as a key target. The source highlights Warren as a late fifth-round pick with exciting draft cost, comparing the Colts' receiving setup to the old Raiders with Darren Waller and Hunter Renfro, casting Warren in the Waller role as a tight end with significant upside. The source notes the Colts cannot live and die on Warren alone in the passing game, implying he will be a significant part of the offense.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

NegativeProjection57:36

The source projects Wandale Robinson for 112–115 targets in Tennessee, down from 140 last year, ranking him outside the top 30 wide receivers. Despite finishing as WR19 last year with 1,000 receiving yards, Robinson had only 35% consistency (graded D), meaning he mattered in fantasy just 35% of the time. The speaker struggles to see Robinson being very relevant for fantasy in Tennessee going forward, even acknowledging he could be a good number two receiver on the team.

0:54Welcome to the show. Jason Moore, Mike Wright, Andy Holloway.
0:57Back with you YouTube.com slash TheFantasyFootballers. If you want to watch the show as well.
1:02And we are on to our second divisional breakdown episode.
1:05I thought it was pretty fun talking through the AFC North on our last show.
1:10This is a fun division, too. Yeah, it is.
1:13There's so many questions that need to be answered today.
1:16And so we'll be talking through the AFC South.
1:19Yeah, I mean, Jacksonville's its own thing. It's its own thing, man.
1:23It's its own thing. Houston, I mean, it's part of it.
1:27It's a different team. It's a different team. It's just like, I feel like there's no excitement around Houston.
1:33For fantasy football? On the offense, yeah. It feels like a stick in the mud.
1:38Yeah, I mean, obviously we'll get to the Texans later, but I mean, it's too good of an offense with not a good enough quarterback.
1:46It's pretty simple math. Too good of a defense?
1:49Or defense, yeah. And then Cam Ward and the Titans and all the changes there.
1:54We'll get into all those teams. I guess I shouldn't leave the Colts out either if I'm just introducing them all.
2:00Feels like I feel like I'm going to hear about that.
2:04But Daniel Jones, come back from injury. UltimateDraftGit.com. That is the website.
2:08Go check it out. It's available right now. The draft analyzer is live as well.
2:13And we have a brand new feature launching in probably a week or two.
2:17On the mobile app. Yeah. And I'm not going to give anything away, but it rhymes with schmock.
2:23Yeah. I had a particular user, very friendly, try to extort a UDK for life.
2:28They're like, if I guess what the new feature is.
2:31I was like, what? No. If you guess like a...
2:34If you guess what the... This wasn't even a trail of breadcrumbs.
2:38This was the loaf. Yeah. If you guess that it is a fantasy footballers mock draft tool, you will be very close.
2:45But unlike other mock draft tools, you don't get the opportunity in them to bring in the ADP of various platforms.
2:52All the mock draft tools that exist, the majority of them are...
2:56Platform specific. Yeah. They're built for the platforms themselves.
2:59And this will be something that you'll be able to do mock drafts, not just by yourself, but with friends.
3:06Invite friends into them. Start from any mixture of average draft position, default rankings.
3:10Have all of our stats. UDK information in there is what the feature could be.
3:15That might be what the feature is that we're going to release.
3:19That's the hint I'm going to give. Speaking of the Ultimate Draft Kit, it's a living, breathing document.
3:25We're in there constantly. You know, right now it's a little bit of a lull in quarterbacks are going on Alaskan cruises
3:32and not a ton happening at this very moment.
3:35But we did have a... We had a move happen after the AFC North show.
3:40Oh, for your team? No, for our UDK. It was really...
3:43I was finally able to break through about my man Zay Flowers.
3:47Yeah. Get him out of the bus! He's great.
3:50Early. He's great. Be careful, man. Be careful. I'll put him back in!
3:54Don't overplay it! The pendulum swings. It goes back and forth.
3:58Yeah, when we first statted out the UDK and when ADP was not as up to date, it was like people were
4:05drafting based on what happened last year. Zay's not going to repeat that right now.
4:10Zay is very low. He's in the fifth round.
4:13Yeah, and so all of our sleepers, breakouts, busts, and values are in there, and those shift.
4:18I mean, when you hear that opinions and things are shifting, it's very much based on the market.
4:24It's based on our projections for the players relative to where they're going in fantasy and whether they're a better value or
4:31they're a player that's just not going to end up on your team because you're never going to take them ahead of other names.
4:39So our sleepers, breakouts, busts, and values, they evolve as well.
4:42We have our consensus opinions in there on those guys, but, you know, Zay Flowers in the fifth, that's not a bust.
4:50Zay Flowers in the second, that's a bust. That's the difference.
4:53It's not my belief on the player and the output.
4:56It's where the market is telling you this player belongs.
5:00Just happen to have everyone aboard. I know. Mike is very happy about that, so that's a good time to move on
5:07to the quick question of the day. Pretty soon he'll be in values.
5:11We'll see. Well, he might be. I don't know.
5:14But ultimatedraftkit.com for that. Quick question comes from Lee in Vancouver.
5:17Bonjour. Yes. Is there ever a case for drafting two elite tight ends, say Trey McBride and Colston Loveland or Tyler Warren?
5:25It goes on to say, could the second tight end outscore similarly drafted wide receivers, serve as a weekly flex while also blocking opponents, providing injury insurance?
5:33I don't think we've ever talked about injury insurance at tight end because we never really think about it that way.
5:40Yeah. It's an interesting question, and the answer is no.
5:43Yeah. I'm on. The answer is definitely not. We do get on here every year and be like, well, Trammie Bryant would have been the wide receiver seven.
5:52Yeah, but you have to thread the needle so perfectly.
5:56Yeah, that's the problem. You've got to get right twice.
5:59And then on top of that, now you can't.
6:02I mean, you're not really playing matchups. You're saying, well, these two tight ends are going to go into my lineup every single week, no matter what.
6:11And you're like, oh, I just scooped up this hot running back who's got the opportunities there, got a good matchup.
6:17You're like, well, but I got this tight end I drafted in the third round.
6:22I got to play him. And it's the opportunity cost.
6:25I mean, when you take a tight end early, you're assuring yourself a really good one, assuming you're getting one of the true elites.
6:33But then you are, even when you just take one, you are sacrificing a running back or a wide receiver for depth
6:40of one of those elite ones if you're taking them in the second or third round.
6:45And so to do that twice, it's like, okay, yeah, your tight end will be good.
6:51Your flex will be good. Maybe just as good as the wide receiver or running back that you, you know, he might
6:58score as much as the running back or wide receiver that you would have taken.
7:03But you can't play him. You need multiple running backs, multiple wide receivers.
7:07You need depth. You need depth. And you're not going to be able to trade for value.
7:12The only way that it works to have like two tight ends, if you want to take a swing at the end
7:19of your draft where the opportunity cost isn't there.
7:22Last year, Harold Fannin. If you were like, I believe in Harold Fannin.
7:27Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's fine. That happened with Darren Waller.
7:30Like his, the news of his ascension in training camp when he was with the Raiders.
7:35Like that was pretty late. If George Kittle's at the end of my draft and I drafted McBride because people are afraid of the injury, sure.
7:43Yeah, there's a couple like George and Tucker Craft.
7:46There's a chance in your league people are just completely scared off of them.
7:51And they're, and they, and then you're like, you're looking at multiple rounds after ADP where they would have gone.
7:57Does, does drafting me, bride Bowers, those guys at the top dissuade you from taking a shot on a, whatever, say Stowers, say Sadiq, say Gadsden.
8:06Somebody late. Do you, are you still willing to just take a shot on that?
8:11If it's super late, not like, okay, Tucker Craft has fallen to the eighth, but if it's a super late pick, it doesn't dissuade me.
8:19However, I don't know that in this year's particular draft, like Sadiq would be the name.
8:24I personally am not a believer. So I will be, I will be, I will be bypassing for at least this year.
8:31But in certain years, I think that that's a good strategy.
8:35Here's what, one thing we have learned from repeated mock drafts on the show and just experience over the years.
8:41What's funny about taking one of those onesie guys, like you can get a good value.
8:46Let's say you get a good value on McBride.
8:49What's good value on McBride? Let's get fourth. Okay.
8:52Or a good value on Josh Allen or something like that.
8:56Right. If you pull the trigger on a onesie, even just at value, the one thing we don't talk about very much
9:03is the fact that you have now lost your opportunity to jump on value at that position later in the draft.
9:10If it happens. Which is why I am much more hesitant to grab a second or third round quarterback I love than
9:17I am at the tight end position because there are so many late round quarterbacks that I love Jackson Dart where he falls sometimes in drafts.
9:25Dak where he falls in drafts. Which you're saying goodbye to if you take the early quarterback.
9:31We've experienced this where it's like, okay. You look back at the draft.
9:35You're like, man, a great pass there. Yeah. Josh Allen in the third and now I'm just like, oh man, Dart is sitting here in the 11th.
9:44What a dummy. I wish I could have taken this and had that running back.
9:48But it doesn't happen as often with tight ends just because there's not a handful late that you're like, what a darling.
9:56They all suck. We don't really have any news to talk about other than the fact that it's been reported that the
10:03Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield are still, quote, not close on an extension.
10:07Guys, on this show, I told you, don't be surprised if Baker Mayfield, if they go into the season.
10:13You said it on this show? I did. I wasn't listening.
10:16No. You thought they might go in dirty and see what happens?
10:20I think they might ride dirty. And if Baker has a bad year, then they're going to be like, okay, go ahead.
10:27Test the market. Funny thing about Baker is if he has a good year, I think he may make them pay for that.
10:35Yeah. By leaving. Yeah. I mean, or the cost.
10:38It's always hard with a rancher. Financially, they'll make him pay.
10:41The DAC move was not a good gamble by Dallas.
10:45No. So, I mean, that's what it feels like.
10:47If I were Tampa Bay, I mean, I think Baker's proven enough to me.
10:52I would get the deal done. Yeah. What's always funny about those is like, well.
10:57But Baker may be asking for a lot more.
11:00Like, we need you to go out there and prove it.
11:03You're like. How many years? But do you want me to succeed or do you want me to fail?
11:09Because it's like, if you fail, then, okay. Then you were right.
11:13Yeah, you're right. The price has gone down. But if you're right and I'm bad for your team, then what are we doing here?
11:21That is really weird. But shout out to Jerry Jones.
11:24That's why he runs his business. Okay. Let's get divisional.
11:28Well, we just covered the AFC North on the previous episode.
11:31Today is the AFC South breakdown. And, man, the division went through some wild times last year.
11:37We started the season with Indianapolis was on fire.
11:40There was a story of the NFL. Jonathan Taylor in fantasy was incredible.
11:44Daniel Jones was getting it done on a weekly basis.
11:47They were one of the top scoring offenses. They were like seven and one.
11:52In the league. Something like that. They lost their last seven games of the season.
11:56They were eight and two. The number one seed in the league.
12:00When I was going back re-watching film and I was hearing, like, broadcasters talking about it, it was like, wow, that's right.
12:07Late in the season, this team was talked about as definite Super Bowl contender.
12:12They were the number one seed in the league.
12:15And they didn't make the playoffs. And what's wild, too, is it's like a lot has been made of Jacksonville's finish to the year.
12:23They started the year five and four and they won their last eight games to finish 13 and four win the division.
12:30But not as much, as I said earlier in the show, has been made of Houston, who started four and five and won their last nine games.
12:39And honestly, if you tell me which team, not to take anything away from Jacksonville, but in the playoffs, which team did
12:46every other team out there not want to play?
12:49Houston. It was the Texans. That was the team where it's like, how do you score?
12:54How do you score on that defense? Yeah, and so you look at those two teams and one just has a...
13:01Stroud falls on his face. Yeah, that's how you score.
13:04Four picks. Yeah, you look at those two teams and one just is very attractive for the fantasy football discussion in Jacksonville.
13:11The excitement is built around their offense and one is built around their defense.
13:15And so we'll start with Jacksonville. Last year they were 13 and four, as I said.
13:21They won more than 10 games for the first time since 2017.
13:24I mean, it was an amazing start of the head coaching career for Liam Cohen, who, you know, we started the offseason
13:32with Duval and our questions about that man. But they were answered.
13:36Now, they were also... The challenge that I see with Jacksonville is, you know, they're going to play a first-place schedule now.
13:43They were 6-3-1 score games. And the performance of Trevor Lawrence was so different than the rest of his entire career that
13:50I think in the back of my head, I'm waiting for the shoe to drop.
13:55I mean, Indianapolis fell on their face because they lost their quarterback, right?
13:59Tennessee was hapless. And they have a brand-new, you know, offensive, you know, coordinator that we like and a head coach that we respect.
14:07So part of it was, yeah, you played a lot better.
14:10But part of it was, look, Trevor Lawrence was just on fire.
14:14Trevor Lawrence's rushing totals in particular, nine rushing touchdowns, is pretty wild.
14:18And so when you look at what he's capable of doing with the weapons that he has, he's not going to score nine times again.
14:26No, not on the ground. No way. So then the passing numbers, you need to do what he did over the last,
14:33you know, 10 weeks of the season on the course of the whole year.
14:38And maybe that happens. They were 6 in points per game, 10th in yards per game.
14:43And everything basically changed after the bye week for him.
14:46I mean, his completion percentage jumped 4%. His yards per attempt jumped almost two yards.
14:51Passing touchdowns per game, up to two from 1.3.
14:54It was just seven top 12 finishes in the last 10 weeks.
14:58He was at a 6.6% touchdown rate after the bye week, which that's unsustainable.
15:02So, you know, we have years and years of regression data.
15:06When a player is that high up in your touchdown percentage, it comes down and usually hits like a rock.
15:12But the fact that he was in the new offense, we saw what Liam Cohen did, you know, a couple years ago with Baker.
15:20And then kind of consequently the Bucs were not so great the following year.
15:25I'm more bought in on Trevor Lawrence and what the Jacksonville Jaguars are able to accomplish.
15:30You know, again, that level will come down. But Lawrence looks like a great pick right now in fantasy.
15:36I think there was a part of this offseason where I was pretty close to like putting Trevor Lawrence as like a definite my guy.
15:44I think I've come off of that a little bit.
15:47Just those rushing totals are concerning to me. The fact that it is a division I think is very challenging.
15:54And I'm just a little bit worried about the worst case scenario more than I am whether he can hit the best case scenario.
16:02And so will he repeat as a fantasy difference maker?
16:05Mike, it sounds like you think the answer is yes.
16:08Yeah, especially where he's going in the draft. You know, I'm seeing back of the eighth round for a guy that top
16:15five is in the range of outcomes to me.
16:18I think that's that's very. Yeah, I'm fine taking Trevor Lawrence.
16:22We took him in a in a league we're in together earlier today at a good value.
16:27I took him in Scotty. That being said, the question as to whether or not he's going to fall on his face is just did he level up?
16:36Was it a true, you know, because he's been inconsistent.
16:39I've never since his rookie year when he was supposed to be the next greatest thing.
16:45He has not lived up to that. But he's a horse boy for a reason.
16:50And that is because he is a child. Part boy.
16:53He is part boy. He's 20. He's 26. Boy, half horse.
16:56Right, right. So the horse boy. Genetic. Name makes sense.
17:00But I do think he might have genuinely leveled up.
17:03He is. He was young enough with a good system in place with Liam Cohen.
17:08The second half of the year looked so much better where, you know, the completion percentage that matters quite a bit to me.
17:15And he has earlier in his career had, you know, he's always been in the 60s to start the season.
17:22It was a little rough. And then they figured it out.
17:25He has weapons. We talk about this all the time.
17:28We don't know which Jacksonville Jaguar receiver. Is it Parker Washington because of the slot usage and all of the success that
17:35he had and that Liam Cohen has had with that role?
17:39Or is it Brian Thomas Jr. because, you know, first round NFL draft pick who comes out in his rookie year and looks like a superstar?
17:47Or, you know, the Travis Hunter? There's so many options.
17:51But it all goes to Trevor Lawrence. I think he leveled up.
17:55I am in on him at value. I agree with you, Andy.
17:58He's not a guy I'm, like, hyper-targeting and planting my flag on.
18:02I think we had this conversation once in 2022 when that season ended and he was the quarterback eight.
18:09And, again, it's about worst-case scenario for me, which I've seen reversion from him, whether it's week to week or season to season.
18:16That's just in the back of my mind. I agree with you.
18:20The value is probably fine to take a chance on it.
18:23But we do have questions up and down the offensive side of the ball in terms of who you're really going to
18:31place your bets on in the backfield. It's going to be Bayshall Tootin, Chris Rodriguez, and LaQuint Allen in some capacity sharing work.
18:38This was a team that made a concerted effort to go out.
18:42And their name was brought up among other veteran offseason opportunities.
18:45So they are... As it should. If you're losing someone stabilizing like Travis H.N.
18:50Jr., who... I mean, Andy brought up his inefficiency numbers, which that's true.
18:54He's kind of been inefficient his entire career. It's his thing.
18:58Yeah. But he just gets the ball a ton.
19:01And so you lose him, and the next man up is a fourth-round running back.
19:06The media is going to link you to other running backs.
19:09And they really... The splash was Chris Rodriguez, who...
19:12What is... It's not much of a splash. Yeah.
19:15Yeah, but he's caught like a handful of passes in his entire career, just has never...
19:20If there wasn't a connection... That's a ripple in the water.
19:24Yeah, if it wasn't the connection between Cohen and Rodriguez at Kentucky...
19:28That's probably what got the deal done. We would probably not...
19:31We'd just be like, he's a depth piece. It doesn't matter.
19:35We brought it up on the last show. Basial Tootin did have problems getting in...
19:40You know, Chris Rodriguez can get into the end zone.
19:43Yes. Basial Tootin inside the five, we don't know if that work's going to be his and how successful he'll be.
19:50That's what the question is. He had limited success.
19:52Who gets it? But he did have success. Tootin was better than HN Jr.
19:57inside of the five. Right. It just... It comes down to what do you believe?
20:02Who will get the work? And, you know, like...
20:05We always want the more talented player on the field.
20:08Sometimes the coach just likes a player. And even if you...
20:12You know, we're screaming at the television how inefficient it is.
20:15They're going to keep giving that player the work because they like them and they trust them.
20:21Let me just highlight... I think it ends up being Tootin.
20:24And I think he gets just a crap ton of volume.
20:28So, you can make the arguments that Tootin will be inefficient.
20:31But it's like, well, look... HN Jr. was inefficient last year.
20:35Chris Rodriguez was four and a half a carry last year.
20:38And he did have enough work for that to matter.
20:42He had 112 carries. He scored six times in Washington.
20:45So, it's worth noting that, like... Rodriguez is an interesting player.
20:49He's only 25. He's an interesting player. I just think that the upside is with Tootin.
20:54I think that's really... It comes down to that explosiveness and speed.
20:58And if he is the first man up, the opportunity to utilize it.
21:02If you don't remember Tootin, the prospect as a rookie last year.
21:06He's 99th percentile explosiveness. 4-3-2 speed. So, it's exciting for fantasy purposes.
21:10Because if one of those two guys has a real breakout this year, it will be Tootin.
21:15Like, Chris Rodriguez could be a value. He could end up...
21:19He could. Being someone that is a good draft pick.
21:22But I doubt he's got, you know, like, oh, he's RB1 at the end of the year.
21:27Whereas Tootin, I think, has that upside, that allure.
21:30I lean more towards Andy's side where I am skeptical that he will be the darling that so many people believe.
21:37Like, there is a Tootin fan club out there.
21:40And they are having a root in Tootin' time.
21:43Because there's a lot of them now. He was only 3.7 a carry on his attempts last year.
21:49He made plays. He is a playmaker. And then LaQuint Allen, how much will he be a factor?
21:55A Justice Hill factor on third down? I don't know.
21:58That's just where we're at with this discussion. And so, you're taking a shot on...
22:03Like, the Tootin draft pick. There's a handful of these every single year.
22:07You're drafting a player to be something for your lineup that you're not 100% certain he'll be.
22:12And so, there's upsides to that. And there's downsides to that.
22:16But where he's going right now, what's the ADP on Tootin' in the fifth round?
22:21I mean, that's tough. That's RB22 off the board.
22:24The usual dead zone. That's a vote for Liam Cohen.
22:27But yeah, that's the usual dead zone for running backs, right?
22:31Yeah. Usually those mid-round guys, what it is, is exactly what he is.
22:35Those middle-round picks are the ones that aren't sure things.
22:38You're not positive. But there's hope and there's reason where it's like, okay, I could see the path.
22:44So, he goes up higher than being a late-round pick.
22:47And that's usually when it doesn't work. And this is the kind of...
22:51Like, Basial Tootin, young, exciting, good offense we like.
22:54Yes. David Montgomery, all the volume on a playoff team.
22:57That's a decision to make for fantasy managers. Yes.
23:00Between those... And they're very different archetypes. It's fair.
23:03So, that's one where I'm going to be on...
23:06I'm leaning towards the Montgomery side of that equation.
23:09Sames. And Jason said sames. Well, I wanted to say samesies, but I felt like that was too stupid.
23:15But you said it anyways. No, he didn't say it.
23:18I just said sames. That would be too stupid.
23:21I don't know if we've talked about something more in the offseason than the wide receiver.
23:27Yeah, please. We don't need to do it all over again.
23:30Quick. Quick. Who do you want? I like Parker Washington.
23:33I like Jacoby Myers as players. This is as players.
23:37I like Travis Hunter. I like Britton Strange. I might like Brian Thomas as a player.
23:42Brian Thomas and Parker Washington are going very near each other in the drafts.
23:46You're not going to really have the opportunity... Basically, when you're on the clock, you're going to be choosing one of those two players.
23:54And who are you choosing? I'm getting closer to Parker by the day.
23:58I feel like I am too. I'm getting closer to Parker by the day.
24:03And one, I don't know who brought it up.
24:06And if I could remember, I would shout you out.
24:09But somebody brought up the fact that Parker Washington in this offense is going so significantly behind Luther Burden in the Chicago offense.
24:16But the situations for them are very similar. The production for Parker Washington was there over a long period of time last year.
24:24It was after the bye week. It was very solid.
24:27And the slot position for Liam Cohen has been a fantasy football dominator.
24:31And so I just wonder if that discussion is worthwhile.
24:35Like, Luther Burden has all the excitement and the hype in the world.
24:39And here's a team that went 13-4. And because he doesn't have the draft capital or name recognition, he may just be a steal.
24:47Yeah, it's you don't have any of the recognition and you're going into year four.
24:51So that's where the difference is of like you.
24:54If someone was going to turn into a boat, I would expect it to be a wide receiver.
25:00They're happening before they're going into year four. It's Luther Burden year two.
25:04Correct. Yeah. Between of the Jacksonville guys, I think I still lean Brian Thomas.
25:09It's not a strong lean. It's like a soft.
25:12Yeah. It's just of the. Barely on his side of the field.
25:16If when I evaluate the situation, it's like if one guy is going to turn into the difference maker and not just
25:23the three of them all kind of, you know, hot swapping who's going to be the star of the day.
25:29I think it's Thomas. But again, this isn't like I'm not I'm not demanding Brian Thomas get onto my roster.
25:36All right. Let's take a break and get into the very different Houston Texans.

26:23soccer and FIFA World Cup 2026. Bank of America and a member FDIC.
26:27All right, Houston 12 and five last year, seven and five and one score games.
26:32They won their last nine games. Their projected win total.
26:35I didn't get to that for Jacksonville. Let me throw that out there really quickly.
26:40I think I missed it. It was seven and a half going into last year.
26:45They won 13. It's nine and a half this year, which is the same number that we have for Houston.
26:51Nine and a half wins. Houston strength of schedule, according to Warren Sharpe, seventh most difficult schedule for 2026.
26:57They won a lot of games for an offense that was 19th in yards per game, 13th in points per game.
27:04They were a terrible red zone offense. So if you want to know why you just kind of didn't enjoy watching the
27:11game very much, it wasn't that I don't think any of us would say, oh, Houston, they were the worst offense in all of football.
27:19And the numbers don't bear that out either. It was that it was when they got when it was time for it to matter.
27:27They just looked inept at times. And then they went out and got a guy who can actually run in the red
27:34zone and score touchdowns because they did not have that.
27:38No, Woody Marks had to carry a lot of the load last year.
27:42This was a defense. It wasn't the plan. It's just.
27:45Yeah, they kind of had a guy that they really liked.
27:49Yeah, they did. And Joe Mixon and he just vanished there.
27:52And it wasn't all Woody Marks's fault, which is why it might not just work for David Montgomery.
27:58Their offensive line was dead last and run block win percentage last year.
28:02So this is it's one thing to want to do the running of the football.
28:07Well, it's another thing to be capable of doing it within your offense and having a threat in your passing game that
28:14keeps the defense honest enough to let David Montgomery go and have success.
28:18But from a game script perspective and from how we like to draft running backs, this is a team that has a
28:26great defense that will be leading or close in a ton of games that taking the ball out of a quarterback's hands
28:33like CJ Stroud seems like a prudent decision when you have a lead late in the game.
28:38And you have a running back that is proven in Detroit that when there were those situations and you had a big
28:45lead, he could salt the clock away. So, again, I find myself inching closer and closer into.
28:51This being a more impactful year for David Montgomery, then I think some people believe.
28:56Not I know. Not me. Yeah, it's all in.
28:59I've been all in since the acquisition was made.
29:01I mean, you saw this team do this a couple years ago, grabbing an older, inefficient Joe Mixon, who is what he
29:09was best at, was handling a large workload, being a veteran who is in the right spot at the right time, always falling for getting what he can.
29:18And that's what David Montgomery is. They went out.
29:21They traded for him. They signed him. They extended him.
29:24And he's going to get all the workload. This is a team that I think they won their final nine games or something crazy like that.
29:32As soon as C.J. Stroud went down to injury and missed three games, they started winning.
29:37But this is a team that will be in the lead a lot with that defense.
29:43And so I also think David Montgomery is a good pass catcher.
29:46I view him as a three-down back. My projection for him is that he will carry a lion's share of this backfield.
29:54Yeah, I don't disagree with any of those things.
29:57It's the he's 29 years old. He's changing teams.
29:59It has been quite some time. I mean, it's been since 2022 where we've seen him be, you know, like a true
30:07featured player, you know, splitting time with Gibbs. Even the carry count in 2023.
30:11Less tread on the tires, Mike. Yeah. I mean, you can argue that except we're going into year nine.
30:17And he's 29 years old. So he he is the exact profile that I generally bet against.
30:23I can see how it goes right. But when I'm when I'm in mock drafts, I just I don't think I can.
30:30I haven't been able to get Montgomery on my team.
30:33And Jason and I will at my own detriment.
30:36Yeah, we will target him. But I will say that it's a it's a different archetype.
30:41You know, there's a use case where Tootin is the better option.
30:45If you said who was a breakout top five running back, I don't think David Montgomery is going to be that.
30:52He doesn't have the explosiveness to do that. He's going to be a volume guy.
30:57If Tootin. I mean, 12 touchdowns for David Montgomery is not unreasonable at all.
31:01I don't think it's unreasonable. I think that that's possible.
31:05I don't know that that puts you in the top five.
31:08No, he had 13 and a thousand in 2023 and he was the running back 13.
31:13I liked it. Well, yeah, and half the work, right?
31:17Half the opportunities. I mean, he'd started. He had a ton of work.
31:21200 probably. Yeah. I mean, Woody Marks is not going to be a factor.
31:25They're already talking about him in special teams. He'll spell David Montgomery here and there.
31:30I just think it's interesting because I like it when other people are out.
31:35And so we're not going to agree because that's the principle here.
31:39The principle is sometimes you pick players that have a good case against them.
31:43And that's it. I liked it as yards per carry haven't gone down.
31:47They went up last year from the year before.
31:50I like that he's done the double digit touchdown thing, that he's been pretty resilient.
31:55His carries went down. His efficiency went up. There you go.
31:59He is like, I think Montgomery is still a fine player.
32:02It's just if they really use him as a three down running back, how long?
32:07How long can he keep that up? Can he make it to, can he give you 14 quality games?
32:13Yeah, I think he can. I think he's built for it.
32:17Of all the players that could, I think he's the one that can do it.
32:22I mean, I think it's a Nick Chubb-esque type of.
32:25Nick Chubb was part of the plan for the Texans.
32:28Not last year's Nick Chubb. So as you, when you're like, yeah, well, it worked for Mixon.
32:34Didn't work for Nicholas Chubb. Well, Chubb was coming back off of.
32:37Yeah, Chubb had already been bad. The injury. That's why Cleveland didn't bring him back.
32:42Yeah. He freaked. Montgomery freaks me out. Yeah. And that's why David Montgomery is going as the RB 26 in the sixth
32:49round and Basial Tudens is the RB 22. Nico Collins.
32:53He's just there still. He's very good. And very good.
32:56Wish he was on a team with a bad defense.
32:59That would be awesome. Yeah. He's going to be capped by just total opportunities provided by a quarterback that has been, you
33:06know, we made a lot out of Aaron Rogers being 14 fancy points a game.
33:11Well, CJ Stroud, after his amazing rookie year, 13 fancy points a game, 14.9 last year, he still got a completion percentage
33:18up in the mid sixties, but three top 12 finishes in each of the last two years.
33:24You don't get prolific weeks from him. You're probably going to get more top 12 finishes from Rogers having a special week
33:31than CJ Stroud, who just seems kind of like a game manager at this point.
33:36And that's probably what the team needs the most is for him to take less chances.
33:41Absolutely. I mean, you look down the stretch, they won nine games in a row.
33:46They won with 16 points, 23 points, 20 points, 20 points, 40.
33:50Thanks Cardinals. Cause anybody can score 40 against the Cardinals, but like they were winning with, with so few points where, and,
33:57and especially with Montgomery here, where when they get in the red zone, they can actually maybe score on the ground.
34:04This is, it caps the wide receiver upside, but Nico Collins can win any week.
34:08You look back last year, he had so many top 10 weekly performances.
34:13Granted two of them came in the three games with Davis Mills, but at least, at least, you know, if something happens
34:20with Stroud Mills, you know, is a capable backup.
34:23Do you care about any other wide receivers? Jaden Higgins, Jalen Knoll, Tank Dell, Xavier Hutchinson.
34:28I want to care about Jaden Higgins. I want to care about Tank Dell.
34:32I do care about Tank Dell, the man. I think Mike's odds of caring about him in fantasy are much higher than yours.
34:40I'm sorry. I agree. Jaden Higgins is interesting, but this team just doesn't have the passing volume, I think, on a weekly basis.
34:47What I saw from Jaden Higgins was really good.
34:50He passed the eyeball test to me, but because this was a, I mean, this is like the quintessential defense and don't
34:57make mistake veteran win the ball game team, not the fantasy adoration.
35:01This was a team that did not let the rookie have too many snaps.
35:06You know, he was so disappointed in this season.
35:09I really was. I was just super bummed. I was bummed at the utilization.
35:13There were opportunities where it was like we thought he was going to get more work, and he just wasn't on the field.
35:21They would rather have the veteran, you know, Christian Kirk out there instead of the young, exciting guy who could make mistakes.
35:28And I'm hopeful, if you want to paint the narrative for how it works for Jaden Higgins, is now that he's not
35:35a rookie, he's got the experience, and he's coming in as a vet, maybe they just say, you are on the two, on the outside.
35:43You're going to play 85 plus percent of snaps.
35:46So they are favored in six of the first seven games.
35:50They have an opening matchup against Buffalo, then it's Cincinnati, then they're favored against Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Dallas, Tennessee, Jacksonville, and the Giants.
35:57If? That's a pretty juicy schedule when you've got Cincinnati, Dallas, Tennessee.
36:01Yeah. In your first five weeks. That's a very interesting start.
36:04Yeah. Like from a Nico. Nico's had seasons where he's been the number one wide receiver like eight weeks, nine weeks into the year.
36:12That does maybe, like if you're between two guys that are both really good, please look at that early season schedule a little bit.
36:20Sure. Not that it will repeat exactly. If, so hypothetically then, let's say Jaden Higgins makes a true second year leap, which
36:27I mean, he's a second round pick. He's got a, he's got size.
36:31He's got speed. Can he, if, can he turn things around for Stroud?
36:35Like we're, we're very negative on Stroud. Is there any path?
36:39I don't think so. Where you think it can, where Higgins takes that step and changes the offense.
36:45I don't think so. We talked about this with the Bengals.
36:48Let's say the Bengals defense got way better and they start kind of, you know, slowing teams down and they're not getting scored on a ton.
36:57And they're still going to keep like that, that identity of that team would keep the, the foot on the throat, air it out.
37:04They would, Burrow would just keep airing it out.
37:07I don't think, I, I believe that the makeup of this team and franchise and coaching staff, if they have a lead,
37:14they're going to be running it out. They're not going to be doing that with Chase Brown.
37:20That's what they want to do if things go well.
37:23So I kind of see, I kind of see Mike's point though, because we, we saw, I mean, this is still a
37:30good team ever since their head coach arrived, they've won 10, 10 or more games and they've had a defense that has been respectable.
37:38It wasn't as elite, but it was respectable. We didn't give enough credit to what they lost two years ago for Stroud.
37:45In tank? Well, it wasn't just tank. They literally, it was like Nico, Nico got hurt too.
37:51And, and, and he didn't have anybody else to throw to.
37:54I'm just saying that first. In year two of Stroud?
37:57In the year two of Stroud. That first year with Stroud, you had tank Dell and Nico Collins.
38:03And I think they had Robert Woods. And I'm not sure if it was Robert Woods that year or not.
38:10I think it was. I'm just saying he did have a, a number of weapons that season that were, yeah.
38:16Tank Dell was there. They have Woods that year.
38:19So I, I, I just think it's interesting to bring up Mike, because we don't ever talk about Stroud in a positive
38:26light, but you know, that was a tough season.
38:29He lost everybody and we all, we all made him fall on the sword.
38:34There were some explanations for year two. And then, yeah, maybe year three was just like, Hey, we don't have, we have
38:41Dalton Schultz here who, I mean, even Dalton Schultz continues to be the second highest target target earner for the Texans.
38:48That seems suboptimal for an offense to thrive. You don't want him to be your second target.
38:53And it's important to bring up because we were saying Houston's got this elite defense, so they're not going to utilize the offense that much.
39:01We don't say that about Denver who has an elite defense.
39:05We don't say that about Philadelphia and their potential on offense.
39:08We don't say that about, uh, you know, some of these other teams, Seattle, you know, they have a great defense.
39:15They still had prolific offensive opportunities. I think in this NFL, you just have to be able to do that.
39:22If you know, if you've got the personnel to do it.
39:25So if Higgins became a true wide receiver too, maybe that could happen.
39:29I don't know. We'll just, we'll, we'll leave a, we'll leave a light on.
39:34You want to talk about the Colts? Let's go.
39:37All right. The Indianapolis Colts last year finished eight and nine in probably because of how incredible they were the number one
39:44seed in the AFC and eight and two. So they didn't win again after their bye week.
39:50Their projected win total before the year was seven and a half and they got to eight.
39:55So there you go. Daniel Jones injury was in week 14 after they had lost two very close games to Kansas city and Houston.
40:03There were three and seven and one score games.
40:06It certainly didn't help that they had lost their quarterback.
40:09I mean, they lost what a one score game against Seattle the week after losing Daniel Jones kept that game close.
40:16Right. With Philip Rivers. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, I think it's a team that we're not sure how to feel about because
40:23we don't know if Daniel Jones will be the same guy because he wasn't that good previously.
40:28So you got an eight game run of Daniel Jones being elite, making Indianapolis look like geniuses.
40:34What I really like is two things. One in the 12 starts that he had Daniel Daniel Jones when he was a giant was a prolific mobile quarterback.
40:43He was a runner. He would go out there and run for 500 600 yards and he was on pace through the
40:50first 12 games to only run for 200 yards.
40:53He was where he was succeeding was in the passing game.
40:57He was really electric with Tyler Warren, Michael Pittman and all that.
41:00And then you combine that with the fact that he is recovering seemingly very well from this Achilles injury.
41:07He's, you know, been at practice. He's participated in everything.
41:10And so, you know, it's like him being back.
41:13I'm not saying this for Daniel Jones, but I am saying it for the Colts, for Jonathan Taylor, because Jonathan Taylor, when
41:20Daniel Jones was removed and they didn't really have anything to threaten deep.
41:24And you could just I mean, if I was playing against the Colts with Philip Rivers, I put everybody at the line and just stop Johnny Taylor.
41:33That's what they tried to do and did. I think with Daniel Jones back there, I am a little bit more optimistic
41:40that we'll get not necessarily the 30 points per game that they were averaging with the Colts in the beginning because it
41:47was also magical, but a good offense. And I do think I the way I look at the Colts coming into this year, good offense.
41:55Well, if you believe I think I'm going to put a situation out there and you tell me if you are going to push back against it.
42:04If you think they're going to have a good offense, then you like Alec Pierce because you believe in Daniel Jones.
42:11And Michael Pittman was a target hog that is gone.
42:14And Alec Pierce got a big paycheck and was very good.
42:18So I think if you think their offense is going to be good, you have to.
42:23And Daniel Jones is good. I feel like you have to believe that Alec Pierce is going to be a massive producer for the offense.
42:31You cannot live and die on Tyler Warren alone in the passing game.
42:35So I think Alec Pierce is going to be very good.
42:39I don't necessarily think Alec Pierce is going to be very good for fantasy football simply because it depends on the role.
42:46If he's the possession receiver, then absolutely Alec Pierce is going to dominate, probably be one of the best picks in the
42:53entire draft because people aren't drafting him high. He got paid like a number one wide receiver and could dominate.
42:59The difference here is I think he's going to stay in the role he was in that he thrived at, which is stretch the field, catch deep bombs.
43:08And the team has already come out and said that's not the case.
43:13Alec Pierce came out and said that. They've also come out and said Josh Downs was going to take over the Michael Pittman role.
43:20I mean, they say a lot of things. Plus, he'd be more involved.
43:25They didn't say he was taking over the Michael Pittman role.
43:28They said they would give him more outside routes than he's ever had before.
43:33But Alec Pierce is literally they've come out and said like he understands he's going to be handling way more targets in the offense.
43:40I just don't I don't think you can make a more.
43:44I think it's less compelling to say Pierce succeeds than it is to say Downs and miscellaneous and Tyler Warren.
43:50It's those two guys. That's not enough. That's just not enough to have a prolific year at all.
43:56The way that I look at this offense, the way that I look at this offense, it reminds me so much of
44:03the old Raiders where it was Darren Waller along with Hunter Henry.
44:07And then they had a speedster outside. Who was I think you meant Hunter Henry or Hunter Renfro.
44:13It was Renfro. And so Renfro is like the Josh Downs.
44:17Darren Waller is like the Tyler Warren. And I can't remember the name.
44:21They had a it was before Tucker. Right. Yeah.
44:24It was a deep threat. It was very Alec Pierce.
44:27And I and they were they were really good.
44:30In that situation, you just made Daniel Jones Derek Carr's production.
44:34And that's what I mean. It's not enough because Derek Carr wasn't enough with that offense.
44:39That's all my point is, is without Alec Pierce being prolific, you will get Derek Carr out of Daniel Jones.
44:45And if you want to make that argument, that's fine.
44:48But that was the year is much better than Josh Downs.
44:52Yeah, I'm just saying that was the year Hunter Renfro was very good in fantasy.
44:57Darren Waller was very good in fantasy. Yeah, Renfro was a one.
45:01And that was still Derek Carr. Yeah. Yeah, he supported.
45:04But I'm talking about whether Daniel Jones is is good for you.
45:08Good for the team. Are you not? You don't think you think Daniel Jones being back.
45:13You're saying he's irrelevant. Daniel Jones is irrelevant. Yes.
45:16I think Daniel Jones is. Because he wasn't last year.
45:19I mean, he was like a very. That's what I was saying.
45:23I don't I don't necessarily think coming off the Achilles.
45:26I don't look at Daniel Jones as someone I'm targeting in fantasy football.
45:31But I think he's going to help the offense enough open up things for for the running game for Jonathan Taylor.
45:37He was on pace for forty four hundred yards and twenty eight touchdowns last year.
45:42Daniel Jones was with only six picks. Five hundred and sixteen passing attempt pace.
45:47Seventy one percent completion percentage. Like you said, he was a pocket passer, which to me like that takes away the concern about the Achilles quite a bit.
45:56Mm hmm. I struggled with the just the contract for Alec Pierce of because GM's teams do stupid crap all the time.
46:03All the time. If you paid Alec Pierce eighty four million and guaranteed money, it's a four year hundred fourteen million dollar contract.
46:10If it's in eighty four is guaranteed. If you paid him that money to just stretch the field and be what he
46:18was last year, you have made an egregious mistake with your resources.
46:21I don't know how Pierce was great at it.
46:24But being great at that, what like what Pierce was doing, that's not one hundred and fourteen million dollars.
46:30It's also not what he did every week of the season.
46:34He had high volume target weeks during the season.
46:37He had a thirteen target week and a ten target week and an eight target week.
46:42I'm telling you, if if if he is a deep threat on this team, I will eat my shorts.
46:48And I have it is an impossibility. I have him ranked closer to you, Andy.
46:53I'm more on the side of. They can't be that stupid, right?
46:57No, they're not. And by the way, this was the this is the team that brought Jeff Saturday and he didn't drop.
47:04And the ball of rivers last year, both of which I thought were real stupid.
47:09Oh, well, now I'm really a glass case of emotion.
47:12If he if if Alec Pierce receives. The target levels that you're talking about as some sort of deep threat to run
47:19the defense off so you can throw it to Josh Downs.
47:23I will be they will be a terrible football team.
47:26That will be my contention, at least. Josh Downs is going to have way more opportunity.
47:31We don't know if he can succeed on the outside because he's basically never done it.
47:37But he should have more opportunity. There could be opportunity for other guys to step up.
47:42Why in the world am I forgetting his name?
47:45Their third wide receiver who actually has flashed in the past.
47:48Whose name is escaping me, Kyle, please. I like to think of Westbrook.
47:52Ashton Doolin. Oh, it was Doolin. I was going to guess Doolin.
47:56But I was like, there's no way he's talking about Ashton Doolin.
48:00I am absolutely talking about Ashton Doolin. We should move on.
48:04Flashed in the past. Flashed in Doolin. No? I don't know what that means.
48:08You said he flashed. Oh, you're saying his name is flashing Doolin.
48:12Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah, that's great.
48:15Come on, keep on. I gotcha. Self-boo? I gotcha, he says, as he hits his own boo.
48:21I mean, I guess sometimes you can say something and it doesn't hit.
48:25Yeah. And then you just got to take... Just give it some time.
48:29Responsibility. But Tyler Warren, we're all excited about the draft cost of Tyler Warren.
48:34Very. Late fifth round pick. Josh Downs costs you nothing to take a shot on it.
48:39And Alec Pierce costs you nothing to take a shot on him.
48:43So when you talk about value right now, there's a lot of value there.
48:47Yeah, it's... I mean, John, the Taylors were the discussion.
48:51Yes, he is. Because he's vacillated between being the best running back in all of football and kind of sometimes not that good.
48:58And he is, ADP-wise, the running back three. Yeah, I mean, people are betting on...
49:03You better be right. That's what that draft stock says.
49:06I mean, if you don't remember, last year, before Daniel Jones went down, Jonathan Taylor wasn't good.
49:12He was the best. He was better than Christian McCaffrey.
49:15He was... Yes, he was. ...on pace for... He was carrying Jason's team.
49:19No, it was awesome. I thought he was carrying just everyone's team.
49:23Yeah, we were all on his shoulders. And we were not like a backpack.
49:28We were full chicken. We were up high. Everyone on your team would struggle.
49:32It didn't matter. And then you'd win anyways. Because you had Jonathan Taylor.
49:36I mean, he was the true workhorse. That's why Daniel Jones was really good last year.
49:42But he wasn't that consistent for fantasy. He wasn't...
49:44This was Jonathan Taylor's team. Jonathan Taylor is the fantasy star here.
49:48And obviously, people are drafting him as such. Do you buy into that spot, Jay?
49:53Do you buy into RB3? I know people are.
49:56Do you believe that that's where you'd want to take him?
50:00I do. It's a vote for the Colts. I just moved him down.
50:04When the Colts succeed, he succeeds. Yeah, I just...
50:07So do you believe that the Colts are a better team than Houston or Jacksonville?
50:12I think his... Him being in the running back three is...
50:15It scared me off that I... I didn't crush him in the rankings.
50:19I just have him now where... I don't know if I'm going to take the running back three.
50:25I think he is... I think he's more fragile than the current thought process about him is.
50:31Fragile from a fantasy... Yes. I'm not talking about his body, which has been fragile.
50:36I'm talking about the way it goes wrong. So, yeah, the...
50:39I'm just like looking... Man, the Colts. Have you seen their records in the last five years?
50:45Nine and eight. Nine and eight. Eight and nine.
50:48Eight and nine. And a four and 12 season mixed in.
50:51Oh, impressive. So, they've just been right on the edge and so...
50:55What's their projected win total that I just said?
50:58Did I bring it up? Why don't you just tell me?
51:02Eight and a half. This division is so fun.
51:04So, you've got nine and a half, nine and a half, eight and a half.
51:09I'm really curious how we're going to sort these.
51:12Oh. I think if the... I think if they lose...
51:15If they lose 10 games, I think you're unhappy with Taylor this year.
51:20Yeah. I think if they lose 10... You think they'll lose 10?
51:24I said if they lose 10. Okay. I said if they go 7 and 10 or something or worse.
51:30Which, I mean, eight and a half win total.
51:33Seven wins is within the... I think it is a little bit more nerve-wracking there.
51:38But we'll see. I mean, they're a super interesting team.
51:41We just had... Is there a chance of... You know, with the vacated targets, do we see an uptick in Taylor's receptions?
51:48Because he's good at it. We've been frustrated when they haven't thrown in the ball more.
51:53We bring that up all the time in the past where you've got a large portion of vacated targets.
51:59It often goes to the running back position. The fact that Daniel Jones is coming off an Achilles, maybe a little less mobile, more checkdowns.
52:07It certainly couldn't hurt. Yeah. Taylor's... Taylor is only difficult because he's going as the three.
52:12Okay. We'll take a break and we get to talk about one more team that's got a lot to battle against in this division.

53:07Before we get to the Titans, I do, just because I'm looking at this fresh, the schedule for Indianapolis to start is
53:14worth bringing up because Baltimore, Kansas City, Houston, three really good defenses.
53:18And then at Washington, at Pittsburgh. Yeah, I mean...
53:21So you're five underdogs. Five underdogs to start, but I could easily see this team that I think is good, I think
53:28it's going to be a good offense, getting off to a really slow start.
53:32And if that happens, and you are drafting Jonathan Taylor at number three, it could be kind of the inverse of last
53:40year, where maybe you're really happy or disappointed you draft him, but then trade for him because it gets brighter.
53:46Yeah, and they'll have no games against Jacksonville yet, so there'll be two more against Jacksonville, one more against Houston.
53:53All right, man. Doesn't it feel like at any moment that Shane Steichen was going to get fired two years ago?
53:59Yes, yes. And then last year, it was like, you're amazing, and then it seemed like he almost got fired again at the end of the year?
54:08Very much. They feel like a team that could go...
54:11They could have an amazing season again or be a complete bust.
54:15Let's talk about the Titans. Three and 14. The projected win total last year, five and a half.
54:21This year, guys, it's way up. Six and a half.
54:24All right, it's not way up. That was untrue.
54:27Hey. It is up. It's going up. Brian Dable, new offensive coordinator.
54:31Robert Sala, new head coach. We invested in the draft.
54:34Carnell Tate, fourth pick overall. Seems like he is the real deal.
54:38They certainly needed one. Calvin Ridley wasn't it. Io Manor, DK, those guys were...
54:43You know, those are role players on this offense, not focal points of the offense.
54:48They didn't do anything at the running back position.
54:51I mean, they invested a fifth-round pick on Nicholas Singleton, but...
54:54Okay. We didn't go out and get it. We thought that they were in play for Jeremiah Love.
55:00Mm-hmm. Yeah. I like Nicholas Singleton. I think he does what is good for fantasy football, the incoming rookie.
55:06He doesn't have electric film, but he has a ton of touchdowns in college, a ton of pass catching, but he's a fifth-rounder.
55:14And Tony Pollard has literally just kept scoring. He's been decent.
55:17Oh, Tony Pollard. He's been... Tony! You just get...
55:20Tony! He's like in his James Conner face for the Titans that Conner did for the Cardinals, where you just kind of...
55:27You're tried and true and reliable. He's going to be the lead guy.
55:31The question is, is it a good enough offense to matter?
55:35I mean, last year they weren't... They were 30th in points per game, 31st in yards per game, but don't worry, their defense sucked as well.
55:43Four straight years with 1,000 rushing yards. They played the toughest schedule in the NFL last year.
55:49So if you want to try to find like...
55:52You know, two and five in one-score games, if you want to try to find a silver lining in a rookie season
55:59that was a struggle, you can say Cam Ward played the tough off his schedule in the entire NFL, and he got
56:06better over the back half of the year. If you want to turn it that direction.
56:11I just tweeted something out. I just tweeted all of his red zone pass attempts.
56:16He was the number one in the NFL in completion percentage above expectation in the red zone of all quarterbacks.
56:23Well, it's because they expected him to complete none of the passes but the receivers.
56:27So our expectation... Like, holy crap, he did it again!
56:31He's 100% over expectation! I guess you can nerf the stat that way if you want to.
56:36But look, my optimism around this team is there.
56:39I do believe that they have the core that will take them into the future as a winning football team, but I don't think it's a one-year process.
56:48I think Houston and Jacksonville are far, far better football teams.
56:52But I could see a world where they're competing for a third spot in this division, and I can see a world
56:59where we're actually happy in fantasy for once with Carnell Tate's involvement in this offense.
57:04So to me, that's where the real value lies.
57:07It's not a bunch of names like Jacksonville. We went through seven, eight, nine names in Jacksonville.
57:12And we didn't even talk about Britton Strange, who really probably should have been brought up as a sleeper tied in.
57:19Here, where does this discussion begin and end? And I think it's just Carnell Tate.
57:24I was going to ask, so you're going to leave Wandale out of this?
57:28You don't have to. Well, I'm saying they gave him the shmani.
57:32Yeah, but he had as much work as a human can get in previous seasons, and he still was just okay.
57:39A thousand-yard receiver last year? He was the wide receiver 19 in fantasy last year, and it's shocking to remember that.
57:46And it was with Brian Dayball, which is nice.
57:49But I will say that if they draft Carnell Tate and don't...
57:53He had a D in consistency. 35% of the time, he mattered.
57:56And if they draft Carnell Tate and don't make Carnell Tate the one, that's absurd and wrong.
58:02And Wandale, I think, is a good two. But for fantasy, maybe he helps the Titans.
58:07I have a hard time thinking that Wandale's going to be very relevant for fantasy.
58:12How many targets did you guys project him for?
58:15Because we have our projections. Because he had 140 last year.
58:18Look, two years ago, too. I know. 140. He's playing in Tennessee now.
58:23What do you have him at? I have him down for 115.
58:27Okay. I thought you were going to say 50.
58:29It's like, whoa, Michael! So... I have him 112.
58:32Yeah, that's just hard for me to get him to a point where he's in the top 30.
58:38Mm-hmm. Yeah, I mean... I like the player, and I like him for Cam Ward a lot.
58:44Like, I like... Cam Ward has the potential to have a step forward this year, big time.
58:49Yeah, he does, thanks to Carnell Tate. And Wandale.
58:52Carnell Tate is pretty much the only player that I want.
58:56Like, if I leave a draft and I have Carnell Tate, I'm excited.
59:00If I leave a draft and I have Tony Pollard, I go, I had to do it.
59:05You know, it's like, oh, I was in a position where I just had to take him.
59:11The Tony Pollard pick is so funny. Four years of 1,000 yards, it speaks to...
59:16Like, this is a quality player. We had the, you know, two years ago, oh, we're going to timeshare the running backs.
59:23And then I was like, oh, no, well, it actually is just Pollard.
59:27And you're like, this year... Or two years ago, I'm sorry.
59:31And then last year, they're like, hey, we're going to do it again.
59:35But they did. You know, the first 12 games, Pollard, he's averaging around, you know, 15 touches per game and not producing at all.
59:43But then the final five games, he turned into a workhorse.
59:4620 touches per game up to 15 fantasy points.
59:49So I bring that up as if Dable workhorses Tony Pollard, it's going to go from that pick that you just, you regret the moment you do it.
59:58It's fantasy vegetables, Mike. Through week... And then week one happens.
60:02If all of a sudden Tony Pollard's getting, you know, 18 or more opportunities, you're going to be thrilled that he's on your team.
60:10Yeah, to me, Tony Pollard's 29. He's not getting better.
60:13He's getting worse as a player. So he's fantasy vegetables to me.
60:17Sounds like David Montgomery. His last two years running back 22, 23.
60:21He said 29 like it's a bad thing. I think the big difference here.
60:25I'm saying that you don't have upside in the player.
60:28So what situation do you care about? I care about 10, 15 wins, not four.
60:33That's all I'm saying. Like Pollard was, he played 17 full weeks last year, 283 opportunities, and finished as a running back 23.
60:41And that's what you're going to be in the range of.
60:44Like if it all goes well, you got RB 23.
60:47That's my worry about Pollard. Yeah, it's just touchdowns and the offense.
60:51I mean, he had 1,000 yards and he played every game and all that, but he had five touchdowns.
60:57And you just can't be very fantasy relevant. No, and we always love the 1,000-yard marker.
61:03That's 58 yards a game. I mean, it's fine.
61:06But it's not going to make a big difference.
61:08Carnell Tate. Jason, you're the highest. You have him ranked at wide receiver 27 or 26.
61:14I have him at 27. Mike at 33. We all projected him for seven touchdowns.
61:19I just moved him up, guys, live. Did you?
61:21I did. A live adjustment to Carnell Tate? Yep.
61:24I gave him a couple more points on the target percentage.
61:28Was it the fact that Cam Ward was the number one ranked quarterback in completion percentage over expectation in the red zone?
61:35Was that what talked you into it? No, it was more like, he's got to have way more targets than Wandale.
61:42Come on, what are we doing here? Oh, okay.
61:45Yeah. If the Titans end up not doing that, again, egregious mistake.
61:49And by the way, Tajay Spears, they still talk about him in the committee with the rest of this team.
61:55I don't know what we think about him at this point.
61:59I think he's fine. He's one of those, I think he is best utilized in small doses, be a high efficiency, low
62:06volume NFL player, which makes him irrelevant for fantasy.
62:09If one of these backs ends up having a really, really good year, it's probably Pollard, then I think it's probably Singleton after that before Spears.
62:17Yeah, I think part of last year's Pollard, or the Pollard fatigue in Tennessee is like, Spears also didn't play the first
62:24four weeks, and we're like, oh, Pollard's the dude, and then he just did nothing for the first four weeks.
62:31It wasn't good touches. So I guess we have to decide who was going to win the division, and I've been talking,
62:38so I need you to talk so I can think about it for a second.
62:43Well, I need to think about that. You guys didn't jod down your...
62:47I've already got mine. I was busy with my Wandale arguments.
62:51I've got mine. I think that it is... I mean, this is a difficult division because obviously Houston, Jacksonville, Indy, they're going
62:58to play each other, and how you win those games really affects...
63:02We were looking at the stats last year of how we picked them, and as soon as you get the first...
63:08the division winner wrong, all the dominoes fall exactly...
63:11So get the division winner right. All right, then I believe the division winner will be Houston.
63:17Do you want to give your other four teams?
63:20Sure. No, I will give my other three teams.
63:23I have Houston winning. I go Houston, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, Tennessee.
63:26Houston, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Indy. Oh, putting Indy at the bottom.
63:29Get wrecked! I have the same as Jason. I want to be spicy and put the Colts above the Jags, but I
63:36don't have the stones to do it. Okay. You don't.
63:39Saturday, the AFC East. We'll be breaking down that division and then the AFC West on Tuesday.
63:45The next Thursday, we'll get into another mock draft episode.
63:48I think we're going to do a 10-man mock.
63:51So that'll be fun. Who knows? You better tune in and find out.
63:55Yeah, we got three shows a week right now, five starting in August.
64:00The Ultimate Draft Kit available at ultimatedraftkit.com. And a live show in August.
