Brandon Aiyuk

NegativeRole5:00

Aiyuk has been posting increasingly erratic social media content and has publicly stated he wants to be released by the 49ers to sign with the Washington Commanders to play with Jaden Daniels, his best friend. However, the 49ers can place him on the left squad list, which allows the team to keep him on the roster without paying him or counting him against the cap, giving San Francisco complete control over his situation and preventing him from playing elsewhere. Despite these off-field issues, George Kittle noted that Aiyuk is running faster than he ever ran before his injury, suggesting he retains his athletic ability.

Insight page

Brenton Strange

NegativeRole11:00

Brenton Strange has a contract with the Jaguars and will be part of the receiving corps alongside Parker Washington, Brian Thomas Jr., and other weapons in Liam Cohen's offense.

Insight page

Calvin Austin III

NegativeRole18:30

Calvin Austin left the Steelers, vacating targets in the receiving corps.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

PositiveProjection30:00

The source is buying into another year of Derrick Henry for Baltimore despite age concerns, citing his 27 carries inside the five as an outlier and his elite goal-line role. Henry is described as an outlier in terms of red zone workload, and the source would draft him given the Ravens' projected 11.5 win total and sixth easiest schedule.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

PositiveProjection18:00

DK Metcalf was bad last year for the Steelers despite being paid well; he was a major target for the offense but did not produce fantasy value, contributing to the Steelers' 26th-ranked offense in yards per game. Ranked outside the top 30 in fantasy points in half-point PPR; the source has Metcalf ahead of Michael Pittman in total fantasy points due to more touchdown opportunity, but neither are viewed as primary targets in the draft. Aaron Rodgers' clean pocket 20-plus air yard throws were "really bad" on tape, suggesting limited deep-ball opportunity despite Metcalf's receiving ability.

Insight page

Fernando Mendoza

NegativeRole6:30

Rookie Fernando Mendoza is not taking first-team reps in the Raiders' offseason program, with Kirk Cousins getting all the starter work. However, the expectation is that Mendoza will eventually get his opportunity once the team loses games and the groundswell builds for the rookie to enter.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveProjection5:30

Despite Brandon Aiyuk's off-field issues, George Kittle noted that Aiyuk is running faster than he ever ran before his injury, suggesting he retains his athletic ability and will eventually find a way back onto a football field.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveProjection40:00

Ja'Marr Chase is a key part of the Bengals' elite passing game with Joe Burrow. The source notes that Burrow is awesome when he has a healthy Chase and Tee Higgins, and Cincinnati's defense was one of the worst ever, forcing the offense to keep the pedal to the floor and score tons of points. The Bengals have the third easiest schedule and are favored in 15 of 17 games.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

NegativeValue22:00

Jalen Warren is the first Pittsburgh player off the board in fantasy in the sixth round and will receive backfield targets in the Steelers' new pass-heavy offense under Brian Angelico. Workload has increased year over year, averaging 16 opportunities per game last year. However, red zone conversion is a concern: he converted only 4 of 14 red zone carries (29%), whereas Rico Dowdle converted 6 of 8 (75%) in Carolina. The source favors Warren over Dowdle due to Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy's prior connection and Rodgers' preference for quick-step drop timing and rhythm with a reliable veteran.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveProjection40:00

Joe Burrow is not being overdrafted despite the Bengals' strong offensive outlook. The source notes that Burrow is awesome when he plays and has a healthy Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Cincinnati's defense was one of the worst ever, forcing the offense to keep the pedal to the floor and score tons of points. The Bengals have the third easiest schedule and are favored in 15 of 17 games. Zach Taylor is in his eighth year as head coach—the longest-tenured in the AFC North—and won't slow Burrow down. The source has Burrow ahead of Lamar Jackson in six-point PPR scoring.

Insight page

Justice Hill

NegativeDepth Chart30:00

Justice Hill remains the insurance back for Baltimore despite not having had a key to the building in five years; he is described as someone who "just waits for somebody to open the front door and he slips in." He is the backup to Derrick Henry.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

NegativeRole18:00

Kenny Gainwell led the Steelers in receiving targets last year, which is problematic given the team paid for DK Metcalf and other weapons; he is departing the team, leaving significant vacated targets for the 2024 offense.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

NegativeRole6:30

Kirk Cousins took all the first-team reps in the Raiders' offseason practices, establishing himself as the clear starter ahead of rookie Fernando Mendoza.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveValue36:00

The source is fully in on Lamar Jackson for a bounce-back fantasy season. Last year he was injured and missed four games, was tough after week nine, and dropped from 25 fantasy points per game in 2024 to 16 per game last year—his lowest since his rookie year. He had only 349 rushing yards last year and his yards per attempt were way down. However, with the Ravens' 11.5 win total and improved offense under Declan Doyle, Lamar is being drafted in the fourth round—the cheapest ADP he's been in five years—making him a value play.

Insight page

LeQuint Allen

PositiveRole10:00

LaQuint Allen should be the third-down back for the Jaguars; the team likes him and wants to use him in that role.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

NegativeProjection37:00

Mark Andrews' statistical output has declined year over year: 11 fantasy points per game to 9 to 6. He is still a red zone threat but only had 70 targets over the last two years. However, he is free or undrafted in many leagues and could easily score 10 touchdowns this year, making him a viable late-round option. In games without a receiving touchdown last year, he averaged 4.2 fantasy points per game. Isaiah Likely is gone and the Ravens brought in Smythe, so Andrews remains the primary tight end.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

PositiveRole19:00

The Steelers traded for and paid Michael Pittman, signaling a shift toward a more pass-heavy offense under new offensive coordinator Brian Angelico; Pittman should get a ton of targets given the vacated receiving production from Kenny Gainwell and Johnny Smith. The source projects Pittman to lead the Steelers in targets because Aaron Rodgers' tape shows he had to check everything down; clean pocket deep throws were very poor, so possession-type receivers are what the offense really needs.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveProjection11:00

Parker Washington is a slot wide receiver in Liam Cohen's offense; Cohen has a strong historical track record with slot receivers, and Washington should benefit from this proven connection. The source notes Cohen's slot receiver numbers are "unbelievable."

Insight page

Pat Freiermuth

PositiveBreakout20:20

Pat Freiermuth is the biggest sleeper on the Steelers; with Kenny Gainwell and Johnny Smith departing and vacating targets, Freiermuth could emerge as a touchdown machine. The source would pick him as a tight end most likely to have 10 touchdowns out of nowhere this year. However, Freiermuth had only 54 targets last year in the Steelers offense, down significantly from prior seasons of 98 and multiple seasons in the 70s, reflecting overall target scarcity in an Aaron Rodgers offense projected to average only 14-15 fantasy points per game.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

PositiveInjury7:45

Patrick Mahomes is training towards being cleared for 11-on-11 work at the start of training camp, per Albert Breer, indicating he is on track to be fully healthy for the season.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

NegativeDepth Chart34:00

Rashad Bateman is the wide receiver two on the Ravens and remains under contract for the next four years with continued contract extensions despite never coming through with production. New draft picks Jacoby Lane and Elijah Surratt are fighting to overtake Bateman, not to take over for Zay Flowers. In his nine healthy games last year, Bateman was on pace for 60 targets and 30 catches.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

PositiveValue24:00

Rico Dowdle converted 6 of 8 red zone opportunities in Carolina last year (75%), significantly better than Jalen Warren's 29%. He played with Mike McCarthy during his breakout 1,000-yard rushing season when he took the job from Ezekiel Elliott. Dowdle is solid in the passing game with fine hands and a 77%+ catch rate over the past three years (yards per catch: 8.5, 6.4, 7.6). The source leans Dowdle in the draft based on ADP discount and the possibility he becomes the first and second down guy with goal-line work, still getting plenty of targets under Rodgers.

Insight page

Roman Wilson

NegativeRole19:30

Roman Wilson is competing with second-round pick Jeremy Bernard for receiving snaps in the Steelers offense.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveValue32:00

The source is softening a negative stance on Zay Flowers and views him as a strong value in the fifth round. Flowers' target share has increased each of the past three seasons and reached 28% last year—an elite target share. Lamar Jackson had 9% of his attempts as end zone attempts (highest in NFL) and likes Flowers. While Flowers finished as WR7 last year, he is being drafted as a mid-WR2, potentially a WR3 in the fifth round. The source views the offensive coordinator change (Declan Doyle, Ben Johnson protégé) as positive and notes Flowers will clearly be the number one option in the passing game. Red zone concerns exist: only 11 total red zone targets with one touchdown, but the talent and target share trajectory are compelling.

0:48To the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
0:53Oh, welcome in. Tuesday, July 7th. The Fantasy Footballers Podcast.
0:57That's F-O-O-T. Footballers. Not to be confused with. No, not be a football.
1:01No, football. Bro, we're done. We're done with that.
1:04Tapping out for four years? Come back later. On to the real football.
1:08That's pretty embarrassing, though. That's pretty embarrassing. I don't even know what you're talking about, so.
1:14That's pretty embarrassing. Well, what you missed, Mike, is I played goalie for the United States last night.
1:19And this was my first time playing soccer or football.
1:23So, my bad. My bad, America. Yeah. And our country says goodbye to soccer for another four years.
1:29But that is not what this show is about.
1:32We're happy to be back with you. It is a Tuesday episode.
1:36We begin our divisional breakdown episodes. It's go time, baby.
1:39Yeah. Something happens over the summer when you hit a certain point.
1:43And then the highlights that you're watching of players start to get you tingly.
1:47Like you're just ready for the season to begin and for things to actually matter.
1:52And to draft Jameer Gibbs at number one in our league of record.
1:57Any of those things. That'll be fun for you.
2:00On the way. But today we're talking AFC North.
2:03Divisional breakdown shows begin. As do three shows a week.
2:06We are into that time of the year. Five shows a week starting in August.
2:11We've got our big live event at the end of August.
2:14We've got the kickoff to the season shortly after that.
2:18The draft kit is flowing. The updates are going.
2:21Nice. Yeah, I got you back. Nice. Driving bars.
2:24That was the first thing that, yeah, that was great.
2:27You guys are a rhyming duo. Oh, we're back.
2:30We are so back. But no, we didn't get to say it because like we pre-recorded last week's shows.
2:36We were all on separate family trips, getting some vacation time in before the season begins.
2:42Ironically, Jason was in, he was on a cruise.
2:44We went to the Caribbean. Yes. I went to the heat.
2:48Mike and I were both in Alaska, not together.
2:51Correct. You were in Anchorage. Yes. Were you there the whole time?
2:55Did you guys run into each other? No. No, I didn't go to Anchorage.
3:00Pretty big place. I was in Anchorage for most of the time, but then I was in Girdwood for a few days.
3:07That sounds made up. Girdwood? Yeah. Yeah. Shout out to the 20 people that live.
3:12Dude, they were having like this huge event and I was like, what people live in Girdwood?
3:17Oh, the Girdwood Fest? Oh, man. Yeah. You don't even know.
3:21I thought about going. But no, we cruised to Alaska.
3:24I had never been on a cruise before. That was fun.
3:28And it was much colder than wherever you were, Jason.
3:31Yeah. You were sweating? Yes. But we're excited to be back.
3:35We didn't get a chance to talk about July 1st is when the draft analyzer released.
3:40So the UDK in its full form, I guess, is available now.
3:44So you can basically sync with your league, analyze your draft, see a breakdown of basically your strengths and weaknesses, how you
3:51align with each of us, different tips and tricks based on your roster.
3:56It's a great tool you'll be using a lot over the next couple of months into your regular drafts.
4:02We also have a big, big upgrade coming to the UDK very, very soon.
4:07It's very exciting. And it's going to work with the draft analyzer very well to help you guys prepare for drafts.
4:13It's probably the biggest feature being added since we've ever launched the UDK.
4:18And it's not at an extra cost or anything.
4:21You just get a huge upgrade to the UDK.
4:24It should be, I mean, I think next week or two.
4:27Whoa, whoa. You might see it up here. Just log in.
4:31Go to myudk.com and look from time to time.
4:34Download the app. Where would someone purchase such an incredible tool first?
4:38The app will be the place where that finds its way first.
4:42UltimateDraftKit.com. Yeah, yeah. But lots to talk about there.
4:45We've got news to catch you up on. Let's get into it right now.
4:49News and notes from around the league. If possible, Brandon Aika has become crazier since we left.
4:55Oh, yeah. It's possible. It is possible because he's proven it.
4:59Every video he posts gets crazier and crazier. And I remember the Antonio Brown hit that changed him.
5:05Yeah. I don't remember the Brandon Aiyuk one. I thought he was not playing football while he went crazy.
5:11But something happened. If you are unaware, he just is basically posting videos of himself on the reg just going crazy.
5:18Just talking nonsense. He has been very vocal of that he would like to be released by the 49ers.
5:24And? And then go sign with the Washington Commanders to play with Jaden Daniels, his best friend, who now he is in
5:31a fight with online and in social media. And then some people are saying it's fake.
5:37Listen. Didn't seem. Here's exactly how the NFL works.
5:39It's very weird. It works this way for psychiatric problems.
5:43It works this way for legal problems. If you can still run 22 miles an hour on the field, he will find a way to play football.
5:52A team will endure anything. Maybe. And if you listen to George Kittle talk about Brandon Aiyuk, despite saying, hey, if you
5:59want him, you get a deal with all of that, he still said, I mean, he's running faster than he ever ran before the injury.
6:07I think he will find his way into a football field.
6:11The thing is, is he's on a football team.
6:14And that's his problem. If he was released, if he was a free agent, he would absolutely find a buyer.
6:20But the San Francisco 49ers have the option to just say he was put onto what?
6:26I've never heard of that before. Left team list or something?
6:29The left team list. If I'm not. Look, if he wasn't good at football, we would never talk about him again.
6:36That's all I'm saying. And I think we'll talk about him again.
6:40I don't know if it'll be this year. I don't know.
6:44I don't know when it'll be. I don't know.
6:47But if you can run 22 miles an hour and play wide receiver and get that contract and you still got it, then you'll find a team.
6:56The problem is the 40. All the power is with the 49ers.
7:00Oh, I get it. And with this new list.
7:03They can give him a smack. Well, I'm saying with the list, which we are just hearing about, this left team list.
7:10Yeah. That seems like you're just like, see you later until Brandon Ayoub wants to actually talk to us and play ball.
7:17Yeah, that'll happen at some point. From a couple hours ago, Brandon Ayoub says he won't be filing for reinstatement because he
7:24doesn't want to do business with the team. Under this scenario, the 49ers can leave him on the left squad list.
7:31He would remain on the team, but not count against the roster or receive pay.
7:36So that's... No, he's received a lot of pay already.
7:39Well, yes. In the past. Patrick Mahomes reported by Albert Breer that he's training towards being cleared for 11 on 11 work at the start of training camp.
7:49Okay, we'll take it. Kirk Cousins took all the first team reps in the offseason practices.
7:54Yep. That makes sense. Well, that, you know, it's because Mendoza was...
7:58Oh, yeah. He was cruising with you. He was on a cruise.
8:02How do you know he was on a cruise, Andy?
8:05Tell us. Because my son took a picture with him.
8:08That was a random thing to find on an Alaskan cruise.
8:12Yeah. That's where we got all the information that Cousins is taking all the first team reps.
8:18Yes. Here's what happened. I was on... We were on the cruise, and as one does, you get texts from your kids rather than seeing them.
8:26So I was getting a text from my son on the cruise that said, Fernando Mendoza is on board.
8:33And I said, no, he's not. He's at OTA getting reps with the team.
8:37That doesn't make any sense. And then I got a picture.
8:41Yeah. And indeed, he was. Yeah. But yeah, I think, you know, the process here for the Raiders is pretty simple.
8:48You're going to let Kirk Cousins play some games.
8:51You're going to probably lose them. Eventually, the groundswell will be strong enough to get your rookie in there.
8:57And, you know, it's not like there's a laundry list of wide receivers that were like, oh boy, we really need one
9:04of these quarterbacks to give us value. Are they the weirdest team?
9:08The Raiders? When it comes to the wide receiver depth chart you've ever seen?
9:13Yeah. I mean, they're up there with, you know, the Dolphins and some other teams where it's like, I don't know.
9:20But the truth is, they have two stars. Yes.
9:23And it's just a weird combination where it's your, I guess it's like the Cardinals, right?
9:28You've got a superstar tight end and running back.
9:31And that's where you expect most of the work to go.
9:35I mean, Jalen Aylor definitely picked the right team to sign with.
9:38To look real nice. Chris Rodriguez, there was a report from the Athletics saying, don't be surprised if he carves out an important role.
9:46There was also a report. The quotes? Don't be surprised.
9:50I know. If he could do something. We've got to do more of those.
9:54Oh, I know. We've got to break news. There's an authority to do those kind of posts.
10:00It is. Listen, don't be surprised if, insert name here, plays football for them.
10:04I said, with all due respect. It didn't happen.
10:07Oh, I said, don't be surprised. I didn't say it was going to happen.
10:12Were you surprised when it didn't happen? Listen, LaQuint Allen was making headlines last week as well.
10:18I told this to Jason yesterday. Not to buy into hype train too much because we've got it from all three now.
10:25LaQuint Allen should be third down back for Jacksonville.
10:28They like him. They want to use him there.
10:31Chris Rodriguez is a thumper. He was the, you know, he was at Kentucky with Liam Cohen and he, 1200 yards and,
10:38you know, maybe he's the goal linebacker. And then Basial Tootin, the younger, you know, player with more upside.
10:44There's a chance Jacksonville is a really great offense with two frustrating situations at wide receiver and in the backfield.
10:51Could be. Because, you know, on one hand. I won't be surprised.
10:55Yeah. Don't be surprised. I won't be surprised. No.
10:58Whatever you say, I won't be surprised. You will not be surprised.
11:02Both, Liam Cohen has shown a willingness to spread the ball around.
11:06So there's one player that benefits from success on offense no matter what happens in the backfield or in the wide receiver room.
11:13And that's Trevor Lawrence. But Brenton Strange has got a contract.
11:17Parker Washington. Have you seen the numbers for slot wide receivers with Liam Cohen and his career?
11:23They're pretty good. They're unbelievable. Everybody he's ever had.
11:26And that's Parker Washington. And then all the offseason high.
11:29Brian Thomas Jr. The chemistry is really there this year.
11:32Oh, yeah. You got Travis Hunter still. Oh, you got Jacoby Myers.
11:36I mean, that's a lot of mouths to feed.
11:39And then, oh, we're going to pass to some of these running backs.
11:43And then LeQuint Allen's going to catch the ball.
11:46Like, Bachel Tudon can catch it. Yes, he can.
11:49So I don't know. I feel like it is a little bit messy.
11:54Yeah. I mean, it's a reason to go in on Horse Boy.
11:58If you want. Oh, man. I forgot about that.
12:01We forgot about that. Oh, there he is. Yeah, Horse Boy.
12:04There he is with his fake haircut. Trevor Lawrence, a young stallion, he'll be valuable for fantasy.
12:10I don't think there's a world where he gets as much rushing touchdowns as he had last year, so the passing numbers will have to come up.
12:19But it could happen. I mean, losing Travis Achan Jr., being in a second year in the system, I think it...
12:26I like Trevor Lawrence. What is our rule here?
12:29What are we doing with the Achan thing? I don't know.
12:32The first announcer says ETN, we're good, right? That's why we say Travis Achan Jr.
12:37Exactly. You have to say the whole thing. Travis.
12:40Travis. No, don't do this. Hey, you said it.
12:43I made a mistake. Don't be surprised if I say Travis now.
12:47Having said all that, I am still very, very in on Tootin, for the time being.
12:52Don't be surprised if I change my opinion. Are you...
12:56I mean, is he in my guy category? We're pretty close, man.
13:00I am very excited about the player, the opportunity, and the offense.
13:03It all makes sense. I don't know, man. Another report comes out, don't be surprised if Chris Rodriguez carves out in an
13:11important role, but he's not even playing football right now.
13:14They expect him to be full go for training camp.
13:17That's the last report. But no, he's not playing football.
13:21I mean, clearly not a lot of people are playing football.
13:24They're taking cruises right now. Up till this point, nothing super matters because the training camp can change everything.
13:30Basel Tootin, for me, is the running back 27 in my UDK rankings.
13:35I don't know where he is for you guys.
13:38Let me find him real quick. I'm not a subscriber, so I wouldn't know.
13:42I am at 24 currently. Okay. 24 as well.
13:45I have C-Rod, Crod, as we call him. Crod.
13:48I have 47. 49, so we're similar. Okay. Al said, Brandon Auk needs to take a cruise and not buy the Wi-Fi package.
13:56You are not wrong. The gap between being crazy and letting people know you're crazy- Yeah, it's an important one.
14:02It's too- You need a bigger gap than that.
14:05And you know what is usually the protective layer?
14:08The agent who he fired. Hey, get an agent and they will be like- I am my own PR.
14:15Give me your phone right now. Our guy needs some friends.
14:18He needs to be grounded. He needs some friends right now.
14:22He filmed himself in a closet taking 50s out of a backpack and throwing them on the ground.
14:28He filmed himself just getting closer and closer to the camera.
14:31Just circling back and then be like, look, I'm closer.
14:35Look, I'm closer. Look, I'm closer. Have you guys seen that one?
14:39Yeah. Yeah, I saw it. I did not see this.
14:42It's a great screenshot for different reactions. Oh. Yeah, don't buy the Wi-Fi.
14:46He was so good. Somebody go- One year. Somebody go disconnect his router and he'll never know.
14:52He would never know. He'll just be talking into his phone and no one will see it.
14:58Yook. Someone help him, please. Ah, yuck. Okay. We'll take a quick break because I want to jump into the AFC North Divisional Breakdown.

15:54Let's get divisional. All right. It is that time of year.
15:58This does feel like the series of shows where we turn the corner on the season getting ready to start in training camp.
16:05Was that a new graphic up there? No, sir.
16:08Okay. It was new last year. Well, I just watched it for the first time.
16:13It's pretty nice. I like it. All right. A reminder of what these shows are all about.
16:19We're starting with the AFC North. They are a general overview of the offseason changes.
16:24It might be about, you know, different players that were added, subtracted, rookies, head coaching changes.
16:29Yep. We're starting with the AFC North. How the offense might function this year.
16:33Our takes on win totals. Who could win the division.
16:37We looked back at the stats and it was pretty close last year, I think, in terms of getting, you know, I
16:44might have won by one pick or something like that.
16:47But we were all pretty close on getting some of the teams.
16:51I think it was 10-9-9 on getting teams right in terms of division picks.
16:56Here we are. The AFC North. If you remember...
16:59This one, just like everyone expected. It was decided in week 18.
17:03If you remember Pittsburgh, last second touchdown, Calvin Austin.
17:06Yes, the Steelers won the division. 10-7. And you know what?
17:09Just saying it like that, I'm going to get so much hate.
17:13But let's be honest. Like, what? What was that team?
17:17They won seven... In their one-score games, they went 7-3.
17:20And we've seen this so many... Time after time after time.
17:24When the ball bounces your way in all the close-scoring games, it's not sticky.
17:28Well, I mean, it might be for them because they just never seem to lose.
17:33But a huge change, you know? The Mike Tomlin era is over.
17:37During 19 seasons as a head coach, Mike Tomlin never finished with a losing record.
17:42Sounds like someone who just lost his job. No, he walked away.
17:46He walked away, Mike. Yeah. Their win total last year was 8.5.
17:50Vegas' preseason win total. They were 7-3 in one-score games.
17:53This year, their preseason win total, 8.5. And Warren Sharp has their strength of schedule at 18.
17:59But a first-place schedule means they'll be playing in New England, in Pittsburgh...
18:03Or, sorry, in Philly. Also, they'll play in Pittsburgh.
18:06Denver, they'll play this year. They were not... The reason that we say that, and it's not...
18:12Look, on one hand, incredible job by Mike Tomlin and this team.
18:16They always find a way to be resilient, to win close games.
18:20I would not just attribute that to luck. I would attribute it to veteran quarterback mixed with good coaching.
18:26But this was the 26th-ranked offense in yards per game.
18:29So, it wasn't an offense in fantasy that we enjoyed.
18:32I mean, when Kenny Gainwell leads the way for your team in terms of receiving, after you paid DK Metcalf, you know,
18:40none of the hyper-excitement around the tight ends paid off.
18:43I was looking at... They have the most vacated targets in the NFL.
18:47And I was like, how? They didn't lose anyone.
18:50They lost, like, Calvin Austin and John U. Smith.
18:53Oh, Kenny Gainwell. When that is... Which, by the way, those were probably...
18:57I mean, DK Metcalf was bad. Yeah. So, those were your targets.
19:01Johnny Smith was a big target. Well, they've... This is going to be a crazy change because you have both.
19:08You have a big change in the players and, at the same time, a big change in the philosophy of the team.
19:15Like, Tomlin was a known commodity. And while, obviously, you've got Mike McCarthy, who we've got plenty of years with him, this
19:23is a new experience, new team, new players. Whereas, Mike Tomlin, I just felt like you kind of knew exactly what you were going to get.
19:31Hopefully, you have much more passing this year. I think we've seen that from Mike McCarthy.
19:36The fact that they went out and got Michael Pittman, you know, traded for him, paid him.
19:42They drafted Jeremy Bernard with one of their high draft capital picks.
19:46Yeah, as a second-round pick. I mean, this looks like a team that wants to pass the ball more than what Mike Tomlin did.
19:54Well, I mean, even if they don't, the fact you have the most vacated targets, Johnny Smith, Kenny Game, while Calvin Austin
20:01leaving, Pittman should get a ton of targets. They brought in Rico Dowdle.
20:05Jeremy Bernard will have an opportunity to crack into the rotation.
20:09But I also think... He's competing with Roman Wilson right now for...
20:13Okay, so he'll win that. He probably should, yes.
20:16I will say this, like, with the vacated targets...
20:19I won't be surprised. You won't be surprised. Thank you, Mike.
20:23You are really going in on that line. I think Pat Friermuth is the biggest sleeper on the team.
20:29Really? In terms of... The Muth? I think he's the biggest sleeper on the team.
20:34Yeah, I think... He's been so tight. He's got to get Luth again.
20:38You're saying because of the Kenny Gainwell type of targets that are...
20:42And Johnny Smith being gone. I mean, both of those situations...
20:46And, you know, Michael Pittman will get his. Because I just think if you wanted to tell me, like, pick a tight
20:53end that just out of nowhere has 10 touchdowns this year.
20:56I think Pat Friermuth is my answer to that question.
21:00It doesn't mean that... If Arthur were there, I think I would agree.
21:04Yeah, I mean, that's another big change. Brian Angelico is taking over.
21:08Arthur Smith is gone. Last year, they were tied for the lowest percentage of targets to the wide receiver position.
21:15At 45%. Which is... Yeah, but what percentage of your own targets, if you're a quarterback, would you throw to DK Metcalf?
21:22Me? Me? Yeah, you personally. You're dropping back to pass.
21:25Me? I don't even like it, but I still would hyper-target him.
21:29Yeah. He's gigantic. It would have been like 30% last year.
21:33So, look. The offense is going to be something we're paying close attention to in terms of what does Aaron Rodgers have left?
21:40Can... You know, it's one thing to say they want to pass it more.
21:45It's another thing to say, like, the depth of target...
21:48Yeah. ...the... You know, it fits Pittman. It fits Friermuth.
21:51It fits backfield targets for Jalen Warren. It doesn't fit...
21:55Heidenreich. Yeah, go. Sure. Just throw more names in there.
21:58Pick. Seventh round. Yeah. Hopefully, miss it. The Swiss Army Knight.
22:02Let me just... No. No, no, no. Swiss Navy.
22:05No. You don't get to talk about... I know.
22:08...any Pittsburgh depth at running back for one year.
22:11I agree. You get one year. All right. I'll take my...
22:14You get one year off. All right. I agree.
22:17He's also going to be on the practice squad.
22:20Hopefully. So enjoy that. Maybe. So let's talk fantasy, though.
22:23Yes. Let's talk how we're actually viewing, I think, the big names.
22:27Metcalf, Pittman, Jalen Warren, and maybe the Rico Dowdle.
22:30What that looks like in the equation. Yeah. For me, when I went back and I watched the tape of Aaron Rodgers,
22:38he looked like he had to check everything down.
22:41When I watched his clean pocket 20-plus air yard throws, it was really bad.
22:45I mean, I don't know that he really has that in his arsenal anymore, and I don't think it was a weapon problem.
22:53I mean, Calvin Austin can get open deep. DK Metcalf is good enough to receive those targets.
22:58They were very bad. This is why, personally, I have Michael Pittman leading in targets, because I think they might not be
23:06as valuable as deep down the field, but I think the possession type of receiver is something they really, really need.
23:13So for fantasy purposes, I don't think there's going to be a lot to love here, but I do have personally Pittman in the lead at targets.
23:21Mike, if you look at your rankings, do you have Pittman or DK Metcalf leading in fantasy points in like a half point?
23:29I have Metcalf higher with just some more touchdown opportunity, but neither of them are ranked out of control.
23:35They don't look like primary targets, I would say, in the draft.
23:39I have Metcalf ahead of Pittman in fantasy points total.
23:43Targets were more ahead in Pittman, and both outside the top 30.
23:47The number one Pittsburgh player off the board in fantasy right now.
23:50Do you want to guess the round? Eight. Yeah, I feel like it's...
23:55No. No. Is Metcalf dropping to the eighth? I'll go seventh.
23:58The first Pittsburgh player off the board in fantasy right now is Jalen Warren in the sixth round.
24:04Okay. Jalen Warren, one thing to pay attention to there, like the workload has increased year over year.
24:10Averaged 16 opportunities a game last year. But if you look at his five zone carries, the opportunities he had to get
24:18into the end zone, he converted four of 14.
24:20So 29%. Whereas you look at Rico Dowdle, he converted six of his eight opportunities last year in Carolina.
24:27Yeah, I'm... The backfield I do think is interesting.
24:30Not sure which of them is going to end up being the leader, but just a reminder, Rico Dowdle played with Mike
24:37McCarthy when Rico had his breakout year in Dallas.
24:40He wanted to. What's that? I said he really wanted to play for Mike McCarthy.
24:45Well, he did. No, I... When he broke out and had 1,000 rushing yards, when he had to take the job away from Ezekiel Elliott, and Rico's...
24:54Like, Rico's not a nothing in the passing game.
24:57You don't think of him that way, but he's actually solid.
25:00Like, he... His hands are fine, and you can get it going.
25:04I'm not saying he's better than Jalen Warren, but I'm saying in terms of him just being on the field, like he
25:12can operate in that part of the offense as well.
25:15So I lean... You lean on the Rico side?
25:18Based off of ADP and everything, I lean on the Rico side.
25:22Yeah, it's an argument to be made that you get the discount to take the second guy going later.
25:28I assume he's at least around later, but sometimes in mocks I've seen him go, like, back to back.
25:34No, he's around and a half later? I would take the bet on Jalen Warren simply because Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy, they've played together before.
25:43Aaron Rodgers is going to check the ball down, but Aaron Rodgers wants, like, he's got the quick step drop where he
25:50is timing and rhythm, and he wants this guy in the exact right spot.
25:54I think Dowdle is a better athlete, more explosive.
25:57But Warren, the way that Rodgers talked about him last year, I know he got injured and then Kenny Gainwell kind of
26:05stepped in, but the way he talked about Warren was like that veteran who he can rely on.
26:11And so I do think that's who Rodgers is going to want on the field.
26:16He could, that's a huge part of it that we don't know.
26:19Yeah. But just like Rico, you know, and the, his two year, we'll go the past three years, he was, his catch rate is great.
26:28It's 77% or higher, you know, yards per catch, eight and a half down to 6.4 and then 7.6 this past year with Carolina.
26:36They're just, he, he has it is what I'm saying.
26:39So if I'm making the, the bet in the draft, the more, while Warren probably profiles as the, the past catcher, there's
26:46a chance that Rico's the first and second down guy, which he'll still get plenty of targets playing for Rodgers.
26:53If that's his role plus goal line, hasn't, that has me leading lean Dowdle in the draft.
26:58By the way, the last three teams and seasons that Rodgers has played 14 fantasy points, 15 fantasy points, 14 fantasy points per game.
27:06So we are, we are many years removed from.
27:09Yeah. Now split that up amongst all the targets.
27:12Yeah. That, that is a huge problem. I will say only 54 targets for Frymuth last year in this offense.
27:19He's had seasons of 98 and in seventies multiple times.
27:22Just keep it in the very deep recesses of your mind and probably don't worry about it too much.
27:28All right. Baltimore, the Baltimore Ravens. Um, I mean, what a, they have seen North is full of a lot of transition
27:36from, you know, long 10 years of the head coaching position last year, the projected win total 10 and a half.
27:43They were two and five and one score game.
27:45So you talk about the inverse of, of what the, you know, the Steelers did.
27:50That's something that you could see, especially with Lamar Jackson being healthy.
27:54Two and five is pretty extreme. They went eight and nine.
27:58Their win total this year is up to 11 and a half.
28:02I think there's a lot of excitement about Baltimore.
28:05They were 10th in points per game last year on the offensive side, 15th in yards per game, but a brand new
28:12head coach, Jesse Minter, Declan Doyle, year one offensive coordinator.
28:15So before we get into the names and the players, just your reaction to the change.
28:21Harbaugh and Tomlin had been the rivalry for years and years and years.
28:25Now you've got a young defensive minded head coach and Jesse Minter.
28:29How do you feel about the transition? The, for the transition, I'm fine.
28:33You know, I mean, overall we are, we side on, you'd rather have your, your offensive mastermind being your head coach because you like Declan Doyle's coming in.
28:43He's the, he is a protege of the Ben Johnson system, which that's super exciting.
28:47You know, like we had the McVay guys leave out and scatter amongst the NFL.
28:52And it really, those are the teams that we go after for fantasy football.
28:57Ben Johnson, I think is going to have the same type of tree.
29:01Like he's his offense. He's just, Ben Johnson's smarter than you are.
29:05Like, that's just how I feel about him. So Declan Doyle coming down is exciting for this year.
29:11I just, you would be, or if I'm Baltimore, I'd be concerned that you, if you're good, you're going to lose Declan Doyle, but that's longer term.
29:20Yes. That's the zoomed out long-term version. But for this year, I think it's pretty exciting.
29:25Yeah. And I think that the wind total says a lot about what's expected.
29:30Jason, do you have thoughts on that transition? Yeah.
29:33I mean, I, I don't, I don't see it as an up arrow because Todd Monkin was someone we loved.
29:40It's not like you're going from a bad offensive mind.
29:43You know, Todd Monkin in year two, two years ago with Lamar was unbelievable.
29:47You know, Lamar put up, you know, fantasy breaking stats again.
29:51And so I, I do like Declan Doyle. I think he might be good, but good to me is sideways.
29:58The, the wind percentage I think is fantastic. The fact that they're projected for 11 and a half with the sixth easiest
30:05schedule coming up, that gives me excitement more for really Derrick Henry.
30:09Uh, the, the running game. I think that, um, obviously at some point the immortal one will have to shed his, you
30:16know, his Yeti, uh, fur, but until it happens, I'm going to assume that, you know, I'm going to, I'm going to take the age ism, uh, deduction.
30:25Yeah. And I, and I'll, I'll be drafting Derrick Henry.
30:29You just want that guy that's built same size as like a Jalen Brunson.
30:33He's got the pounds on him, but same height.
30:36Yes. That's such a funny. We were just laughing at like whenever you compare NBA players height to the biggest guys in
30:43the NFL, how comical it is, but like Jalen Brunson's the same height.
30:48If Derrick Henry were on an NBA court, you'd be like, who's that little guy?
30:53Yeah. It's like crazy, crazy. 27 carries inside the five.
30:56So he is an outlier. I'm with you. I would buy into another year of Derrick Henry.
31:02I mean, what are, what are your options for if you're Baltimore?
31:06Yeah. I mean, it's justice Hill, Rasheed Ali. I know that Hill's always around.
31:10Yes, he is. They drafted a guy that we liked in the draft process and Adam Randall, because he's a converted wide receiver to running back.
31:19And also when they say they drafted the owner, drafted and handpicked him.
31:23Justice Hill hasn't had a key to the building in five years, but he just waits for somebody to open the front door and he slips in.
31:32And yet he remains the insurance back. He is.
31:35And, you know, we've had a lot of conversations, I think, about the wide receiver position and what to expect.
31:41Eklund Doyle, like you said, there's excitement in the schedule.
31:45It's good. Zay Flowers has been their dude in the wide receiver room.
31:49It's been an offense where we've seen it filter through the tight end position.
31:54We've had Mark Andrews have elite years. We've had Isaiah likely involved in the offense.
31:59Zay Flowers is their guy. His target share has gone up each of the three seasons.
32:04I am more, I think I'm softening a negative stance on Flowers for a couple of reasons.
32:10Yes. I don't think that, you know, I'm not going to look at like acquisitions of Jacoby Lane, Elijah Surratt as, you know, target challenges to Zay Flowers.
32:19And also it's the draft costs. I mean, if I can get Zay Flowers in the fifth round.
32:25Yeah, welcome aboard. That's just too good of an opportunity.
32:28It's just too good. I mean, Lamar Jackson had 9% of his attempts as end zone attempts.
32:34That's the highest rate in the entire NFL. He likes Zay Flowers.
32:38And I don't think that we should. If you told me he's getting drafted at where he finished last year, I'm out.
32:45Yeah, he was, you know, the worst wide receiver seven of all time.
32:49But he was still the wide receiver seven. But you're not drafting him like that.
32:54You're drafting him as a, you know, mid wide receiver two.
32:58He might be my wide receiver three. Absolutely. In the fifth round.
33:02That's fine. And I'm fine drafting a guy there that you know is going to be the leader.
33:08You know Zay Flowers is the leader of a good offense.
33:11That's all you know. Now, I also feel like we can reliably say we know he's not getting double digit touchdowns.
33:18I don't think that's, I don't think at the end of his career you're going to be like, oh, that was his outlier with 10 touchdowns.
33:27I think it'll be like, oh, he had six as his career high.
33:31No, I mean, he's been 5-4-5. You're not going to get that.
33:35Those end zone targets that you're talking about? Those go to Mandrews.
33:39Yeah, those don't go to, there's not a lot of those going to Zay Flowers.
33:44But it is, let me see how many targets he had inside the red zone.
33:49He had 11 total targets in the red zone.
33:52One 5-zone target, 5-10-zone targets, had one touchdown in the red zone last year.
33:56What I like about Zay is the talent of the player.
34:00I think Zay Flowers is a top-tier wide receiver.
34:03He was not the archetype of, you know, the big number one guys out there.
34:08He was 5-9-1-80. But how shifty he is and his ability to get open are what's exciting about Zay Flowers.
34:14The proof is already there. Target share going up three straight years at 28% target share last year.
34:20That's an elite target share. And I view the change of offense here as a positive.
34:26A lot of the times you're like, oh, I would like things to stay the same.
34:31But the fact that it's changing and Zay Flowers will clearly be the number one option in the passing game.
34:37Like, it could get better. And like you said, Andy.
34:41Are you trying to project like an Amon Ross St.
34:44Brown situation for him with the tree, the Ben Johnson tree?
34:48I mean, it's the easy logical comparison, you know, of saying a smaller guy.
34:52Which, Amon Ross is smaller, but Zay Flowers is smaller than Amon Ross.
34:57So it's not a one-to-one. It makes sense for that type of a thing to happen.
35:02Where it's like, right now, the wide receiver two on the Baltimore Ravens is and remains Rashad Bateman.
35:08For the next four years, he's under contract. Who just keeps getting contract extensions with the Baltimore Ravens despite never coming through with anything.
35:16And then, you know, with Lane and Surratt being drafted this year, they're fighting to overtake Bateman.
35:21They aren't fighting to take over for Zay Flowers.
35:24By the way, Bateman threw his nine healthy games last year on pace for 60 targets and 30 catches.
35:31So, a player... Four more years! A player going where Zay Flowers is going, knowing I'm getting 25% at least of the targets.
35:38He's really interested. Are either of you taking a shot on one of the rookies?
35:43No. Not in redraft. Yeah. I'm probably just going to...
35:46The fact that you had to put it that way is part of the problem.
35:51The fact that... It reminds me of when we had a handful of Green Bay Packers rookies that you could have taken a shot on years ago.
36:00And it was like... Was Jacoby in the third round?
36:04Jacoby Lane was drafted ahead of Elijah. I don't remember the...
36:07But not by a lot. I mean, it was like third and fourth round.
36:12And here's my problem with it is I feel like you have to win...
36:16You've got to win the lottery twice. You've got to have the rookie have the first year impact in the third or
36:24fourth round of the draft on a team that hasn't had anybody outside of Flowers make any impact.
36:30Then you've got to get the right one. Yeah.
36:33So that is something... Look, if you watch training camp...
36:36You're right. And one emerges... And one is like, oh my gosh, this guy's amazing.
36:41Then maybe there's room. But... I'm rooting for you, Elijah.
36:44I really like Elijah Surratt. Yeah, you do like Surratt a lot.
36:48I would say there's two more major conversations on this team.
36:52One is Lamar Jackson. Just like, do you get the bounce back fantasy season from Lamar?
36:57I am fully in on Lamar. Last year... I feel the same way.
37:01I just... I'm deleting it. He was injured four different missed games.
37:05He was tough after week nine. And he's Lamar.
37:08They're 11 and a half win total. I'm totally fine drafting Lamar.
37:12Just for context, he was the number one quarterback in 2024 with 25 points a game.
37:17He dropped to 16 a game last year. That's his lowest since his rookie year.
37:22He had 349 rushing yards last year. And I know he was hurt, but that is...
37:28Yeah, I'm one jam. His yards per attempt were way down.
37:31And you might get a value on him. And then the last one is just the conversation around Mark Andrews.
37:38The statistical output for Andrews has declined year over year.
37:41Not the same player. Certainly a red zone threat at all times.
37:45But 11 fantasy points per game to nine to six.
37:48Only 70 targets the last two years. He's a touchdown machine.
37:52Yeah. He could easily have 10 touchdowns this year and you'll be fine for where you draft him in fantasy.
37:59If he doesn't get a touchdown in the game, he's no longer the possession guy.
38:03He's not going to be up there at 1,000 yards.
38:07Last year, in games where he didn't have a receiving touchdown, averaged 4.2 fantasy points per game.
38:12However, he's free. I don't even know if he's drafted in every league.
38:17He's also free of Isaiah Likely. And so, yeah.
38:20Isaiah Likely being gone. They brought in Smythe. So don't worry about it.
38:24And they paid Andrews. So he's still going to be very involved on a good team.
38:29I'm fine. Like, you know my strategy. I want one of those top-tier tight ends.
38:34And if not, I will grab whoever is left over.
38:37No, your strategy is Laporta at all costs. Based on our last draft.
38:42Laporta at a cost? Oh, okay. I mean, if he falls to an uprise, sure.
38:47But I am fine with scrap leftovers when there's guys like Mark Andrews who could go out, be undrafted, and score 10 touchdowns.
38:54Your mock draft ended up so good for you.
38:57I like it. Getting Josh Allen in the fifth round and then getting Laporta as late as you did.
39:03It's like the ninth. Your onesies were the biggest discounted players.
39:07It was great. We'll take a break. We'll talk Bengals.

39:52All right. Two teams we've talked about. Two more to go.
39:56The 6-11 Cincinnati Bengals. Oh, man. They had an 8.5 win total last year going into the season.
40:02They had a tough schedule. Ten of their games were against teams with a winning record, which was the most in the NFL.
40:09And a lot of those came down to the wire, and they didn't win a lot of those ones that came down to the wire.
40:18They were 3-5-1 scored games. We know Burrow. The story with Burrow is when he plays football and has a healthy chase in Higgins.
40:26He's awesome. It's pretty magma. And we also got to enjoy one of the worst defenses ever for Cincinnati.
40:32It was very enjoyable. We'll talk about that momentarily.
40:35But, you know, they lost back to that games last year where they scored 37-plus points in both of them.
40:41They lost to the Jets 39-38. They lost to the Bears 47-42.
40:45They gave up 39 points to the Jets? Yeah.
40:48I do not remember this. Man, that defense sucks.
40:51It's probably because you were too busy watching the fantasy points pile up on the offensive side.
40:57But the projected win total just jumped one game to 9-1.
41:00They have the third easiest rank to schedule, at least right now.
41:04That looks pretty good. Favored in 15 of 17 games.
41:08And they have a wild amount of games with huge lines.
41:11Like, you know, 50.4 as the total for a Dallas game.
41:15So, crazy. But let's talk about the big picture here for the fantasy production of this team.
41:21Let's start with that defense that was so atrocious that meant he had to score a ton of points.
41:27They did spend a lot of time this offseason.
41:30They made a huge trade for Dexter Lawrence. Jonathan Allen is there.
41:34That's huge. I mean, they brought in a safety.
41:37They brought in a defensive end. Their draft was focused there, rightly so.
41:41I think it will be an improved defense. But normally you see those transitions take a couple years to get to the
41:48point where, you know, I think Dallas will be better than they were last year.
41:53I think Cincinnati will be better than they were last year.
41:57But when you're 31st, you've got a long way to go.
42:00Oh, yeah. Get a little better. But just, you know, stay bottom third.
42:05Third, you know, they coming off of last year where they could not rely on a defense.
42:10I think that even if the defense is improved, this is going to be an offense with the pedal to the floor
42:18to avoid their defense giving up late. You know, I don't think this is going to be a team that's trying to,
42:25you know, halfway through the third quarter, run the ball out, slow it down.
42:29This is Joe Burrow's team. Yeah, well, that's, I mean, but even if they've got a lead and they think that they
42:37could do that, I think they're going to keep putting the ball in Burrow's hands, throw it a lot, score a ton of points.
42:45This is an offense that I think everyone wants.
42:48And while you're not going to get a discount on Chase, Burrow right now, you know, isn't being overdrafted.
42:54Are you both Lamar over Burrow in your rankings or do you have Burrow higher?
42:59I think that's an interesting one for people because like Lamar right now, ADP wise is the cheapest he's been over the
43:06last five years in the fourth round. I'm guessing Burrow's in a lot of leagues going ahead of him.
43:12Yeah. Right now I've got Lamar in both six point and four point ahead of Burrow.
43:18I have Burrow's ahead for me in six point.
43:21Here's what I think the format matters for these ones.
43:24I don't feel like Cincinnati is a difficult projection of a team.
43:28No, like what's wild is like Zach Taylor is going into his eighth year.
43:32Every other head coach in this entire division is a first year head coach.
43:37He's like the longest tenured guy by a long stretch.
43:40And we just know what to expect. We know that he's not going to do anything to like slow Burrow down or
43:48stop Burrow from throwing the ball as many times as he did last year.
43:52His final six weeks of the year, he was on a 17 game pace.
43:57Burrow was a 4,500 passing yards and 43 passing touchdowns.
44:00Now there was a desperation to that team trying to find a way to, you know, get close enough to where they
44:07could get help to get into the playoffs and all of that.
44:11You know, Burrow is always going to be a little bit of an injury risk, I think.
44:17I think we'd all. Yeah, he will be. Even when you drop back, like take the injury history aside.
44:23When you drop back and throw the ball that many times, it's a risk.
44:28Well, you have, well, we have six years of Joe Burrow and three of them, he's had catastrophic injury.
44:34Yeah. But the three where he's playing, you know, the full season, he's throwing for over 4,500 yards and 30 plus touchdowns.
44:41Yeah. I mean, for fantasy, this is really easy.
44:44All four guys are good. Burrow, Chase Brown, Tee Higgins, Chase Brown.
44:48Yep. Those four, where they're going in drafts, I am thrilled to have them on my team.
44:54I think they can be actual difference makers. I want pieces of this team.
44:58And the best part of getting pieces of this team is it's consolidated.
45:03No one else is really going to take away from those four players.
45:07So I think they are. I don't have a tight end to give you.
45:12You know what I mean? This is going to be.
45:15You do if Tee Higgins misses time. Mike Kosicki.
45:18Yeah. Sticky Kosicki. I don't like that nickname. But it rhymes.
45:22It's been a while since we've brought it up.
45:25And I now I'm like the Bengals. They're just great.
45:28They're they're just so fantastic for fantasy. They're very similar to Dallas.
45:32Legitimately. They're very similar situation. They really are. Because if George or CeeDee misses time, I'm very interested in Jake Ferguson.
45:39But otherwise. Otherwise, I'm not. No. And you love Pickens.
45:42You love CeeDee. You love Dak. No. I mean.
45:45Chase Brown, to me, yet again, is one of, I think, the best picks at ADP.
45:50One thing I didn't mention that I think, at least for these last two teams, is worth mentioning, is the start you're
45:57going to get in fantasy from these players. Mm-hmm.
46:00They're playing now four road games, but they're favored in all of them.
46:05And for Cincinnati, they're favored in five, but they have an early bye in week six.
46:10So, I mean, that's just worth noting. They're favored in four of the five.
46:15Sorry, four of the five. Yep. Houston, they are not in week two.
46:19Which we could use a stronger start from. Yes, we really could.
46:23It seems impossible for them to start. Week one, Burrow is always bad.
46:27They're at home against Tampa. He should be good, but it's always scary.
46:31Come on. You could do it this year, Burrow.
46:34We didn't talk about him extensively, but Chase Brown, how safe do you view him as a fantasy pick today?
46:41Incredibly. Super duper safe. He's so perfect because he's not a thumper.
46:45So, like you said, they're not going to have these big leads where they give the ball to a Derrick Henry that
46:52wears the game out, but he's always going to be out there on the field.
46:57He can catch the football. He was the fifth most receptions at the running back position.
47:02When they throw it to you and they give you touchdown opportunities and you're on a great offense, that's all I need.
47:10Who was the rumored free agent for Cincinnati? There was somebody that they were talking about could go there at running back.
47:17I know it'll never happen because Chase Brown's recent, like new ones.
47:21Yeah. Oh, uh, come. Oh, there was. Camara. There was a passing Alvin Camara, which is like when you located the source of it, it's, it's absolute nothingness.
47:30Okay. Well, also he could go there and I wouldn't care.
47:34By the way, the funny thing, uh, speaking of the Camara news, I saw somebody break down the metrics between Travis H.
47:41Chan Jr. Last year and Camara's numbers in terms of like all the efficiency metrics and they were the same.
47:48Really? Yeah. They were just the same, but talking about running the football.
47:52Yeah. They were not, um, that seems impossible. Yeah.
47:55It was an NFL rumors thing about the Bengals being linked to Alvin Camara.
47:59I'm not worried about it. That's the last thing I want to do if I'm Alvin Camara is leave.
48:06Yeah. I don't final year of just like, just, just be a legend in that city.
48:11But until it's like fits in Arizona. He wasn't going to go if anything or if nothing changes for Chase Brown, his
48:18competition will be soon to be 31 year old Samajay Pirine and Taj Brooks, a sixth round pick, which Chase Brown was a later pick as well.
48:27And Taj Brooks has his supporters, but Brooks could not get on.
48:31Like my dynasty team? Your dynasty? You have Taj Brooks?
48:34I don't know if I do anymore. Probably. I honestly don't.
48:38My dynasty team's nickname now is, is Michael is Matthew golden in the scraps.
48:43My team is so bad. So it's just called the scraps.
48:46It's just called the scrap. The rebuilding process in dynasty, just to give you the play by play.
48:52I'd haven't got to reflect on that yet because I've never done it.
48:56How's it going? It's miserable. It's necessary misery. Yeah.
48:59And it's multiple years if just, you know, you have to do it.
49:04It's like construction, man. Right. While it's going on.
49:07Sucks. You hate everything. I want those lanes open.
49:10Yeah. You're like, those, those guys don't make a living to construction when your situation because my rebuild is going to be five years.
49:18Wow. Just, it is very similar. Cause once it's done, you're like, you forget.
49:22Well, you forget about the construction. You're just like, Oh, this freeway now has two extra lanes.
49:28Yeah. I, um, I don't have the supplies necessary to build the house right now.
49:33Um, okay. You know, who's been under construction for about 30 years, the Cleveland Browns any day now they have not won the AFC North since 1989.
49:42Okay. 30 was Falcon. When were you born? 96, 96.
49:45You freaking weird. Um, golly. So you, you've never seen Cleveland, you know, a top.
49:50The AFC North. Nope. Josh has. Um, all right.
49:53Cleveland five and 12 last year. He had a five and a half win total.
49:58Hey, they delivered the five. Um, this year it's up at six and a half guys.
50:03Fourth easiest strength to schedule and it's at six and a half wins.
50:07No more miles Garrett. So like your reason to watch has gone down.
50:12That's great news for the aforementioned Ravens and, uh, Cincinnati Bengals.
50:15Cleveland's favorite in two games this year. I think the Atlanta and Las Vegas.
50:20Kyle, probably both home games. Kyle, the Browns are favorite against that feel that's gotta feel bad.
50:25It has to hurt so much. I mean, obviously that game's gotta be in Cleveland.
50:30Yeah. Maybe in the winter. Oh my gosh. And the, uh, the old adage, you know, if you have two quarterbacks, you have none.
50:38What if you have, what if you have, what if you have none quarterbacks?
50:43You also have none. Yeah. That's how the math works.
50:4630th in points per game last year or 31st, 30th in yards per game.
50:51You just said you, you love Todd Monkent, but this is a tall task.
50:55Year one as a head coach. Uh, he's 60 years old.
50:59We looked at, we looked this up. There are eight first time head coaches over the last 25 years that were or more good cutoff.
51:07Yeah. Um, didn't work out well for them. They averaged 6.4 wins.
51:11Only Bruce Arians and Mike Zimmer lasted more than three years.
51:15Todd Monkent. Congrats on getting that job. Yeah. This was the one you're going to get.
51:20Yeah. And to be clear, I don't know that Todd Monkent is a good head coach.
51:25There are plenty of great coordinators who are not made to be head coaches at 60.
51:31I think that's going to be even harder. Um, but it's good offensive mind, which is fun.
51:36Some of the things you've been hearing, uh, out of camp, which obviously this time of year, the only things you're going to hear are good.
51:45Oh, I really like, you know, the, the offensive system and some of the changes.
51:50Uh, but they, you know, they went out and they spent in the draft on which we liked it.
51:56Yes. Concepcion and Denzel Boston. We liked the players that they drafted.
52:00We kind of wish they would have gone to a situation.
52:04They could have more impact for fantasy football earlier, but Concepcion, Denzel Boston as Boston's been making a lot of headlines.
52:11Like as those are two players that we really liked.
52:14We like, we liked them as prospects and they're very, like, I, I like that they're different archetypes, you know, and Concepcion.
52:21Now, if you're going to do the kind of the, like the, the surface level, well, Monken had flowers.
52:27Concepcion is a Zay flowers type of archetype of a player.
52:31So can he maximize what Casey is good at?
52:34That this was a team that was tied for the lowest wide receiver target percentage in the NFL last year.
52:41Ah, yes. With the Steelers. So, um, you know, you, you have a situation where there is opportunity.
52:47One of the big questions about Cleveland is, do we care who the quarterback is?
52:51I mean, because you can kind of say, well, could it get worse?
52:56Like, you know, Watson in 2024 was dead last in EPA per play.
53:00Shadour in 2025 was dead last in EPA per play.
53:03At the end of the day, I think my answer is still yes.
53:08I do care. Like, I, I want somebody that's going to, I don't care if your, your EPA per play is, I
53:15mean, I do care, but I just want somebody that's going to give some of, you know, the, the Harold Fannin, Concepcion, Boston opportunities to make plays.
53:24You're going to be losing a lot of ball games.
53:27You talk about what kept them in it last year.
53:30Miles Garrett was a big piece of the puzzle.
53:33Their defense was fourth in yards per game. They will be a worse defense.
53:38That is good for fantasy. I do care. I do care which guy emerges.
53:43Um, and I just want opportunities for these young players.
53:46I want Harold Fannin to not be a sophomore flop.
53:49This is the guy that hurts me the most in all of fantasy football is Harold Fannin.
53:55Cause I love him. I think he is. Oh, we went into the off season when we, when we, when last season
54:02ended, I had Harold Fannin ahead of Tyler Warren ahead of Colson Loveland.
54:06Then their teams changed. They got rid of DJ Moore.
54:10They got rid of Michael Pittman that, you know, it seemed like, okay, now there's clarity in those two.
54:16I would clearly take them over, but Fannin was so good.
54:19Yes. He's a great player. And in the games where Shadur started, uh, which started in week 12.
54:25And if you take out the injury game where he was good and fast, cause he got a touchdown, but you know,
54:33you didn't, he only played 20% of snaps during that stretch with Shadur in both of their rookie seasons.
54:39He was on pace for 142 targets, 31% team target share, almost a thousand yards, 10 touchdown pace.
54:45Like he was dominant and I want to be in on him.
54:49Yeah. I mean, I think that that, I mean the, the case you have right there is that you were the terrible
54:56team and a terrible offense and a terrible quarterback pro bowler.
55:00And, but that you still had the effectiveness of Fannin.
55:03And I have zero fear about Boston and conception.
55:06Sean, her name Fannin at all. That is, that is my fear.
55:10I don't have any fear of that. There, I think them as a tandem, even in year one, it's better than what was going on last year.
55:19Oh, it's better. Jerry Judy's still on the team, everybody.
55:22It's better than what they had, but you also had David Njoku in this offense and the numbers you just read for him so much.
55:30The numbers you just read for Fannin were outrageous.
55:33I mean, you just need, if your offense is going to be more competent with an offensive minded head coach.
55:40Njoku was just phased out. Like, I mean, it started, you know, he was the guy that.
55:45Do you like Monkin or not? Do you think he can do better than what they've done?
55:51I think he can do better than what they have done.
55:55But quarterback is just, it's the most important position in professional sports.
55:59Cause if you, if you don't have one and like we saw it last year, you know, with Jacoby Brissett, he's at least competent.
56:07Can Shadur elevate his game where he's not dead last in EPA and he's actually, in a competent quarterback.
56:13Cause he was not last year. I mean, he was competent enough to give Fannin some really good numbers.
56:19Yeah. Fannin was the tight end five with a missed game and an injury in his second to last game.
56:26And they grabbed Spencer Fanno, uh, number nine in the draft at offensive tackle, even ahead of adding Concepcion and Boston.
56:33I, Oh, I hate these middle round tight ends, but I love Fannin so much.
56:38And you're convulsing a little bit. Yeah. It's really difficult.
56:41Anytime that you have just kind of a, a cloud of misery hanging over a team, I think there's opportunity in fantasy.
56:48It's going to depress values in ADP. The Cardinals are going to be depressed.
56:53I'm depressed because I'm a Cardinal fan, but the values are going to be depressed.
56:58We saw a horrific Cardinals team put up great offensive numbers worth multiple number one options in McBride and Wilson, but they
57:05had one of the worst defenses in the league in that stretch.
57:09Whereas the Browns have, I know they lost miles Garrett, but they've still got a very good defense.
57:15They're going to lose almost all their games. It's all that matters to me is that the Cardinals are going to win maybe a game this year.
57:24The Browns are going to win maybe two and they're going to be trailing.
57:28They're going to throw the football. Fannin was prolific.
57:31So that turns the conversation then into Quinchon Judkins, who, you know, he'll get it all great prospects.
57:37Also was great as a rookie. You look at, no, you look at the numbers and you're like, oh, he didn't rush for a lot per carry.
57:46He, the offensive line was trash. You watch the games.
57:49He was, he is, he looked the part on the NFL field.
57:53It was not his fault that they were always down.
57:57And I'm much more on Jason's side on this.
58:00I don't, I don't care about the yards per carry number for him at all.
58:05Well, okay. Not even yards per carry. 67% of his runs were three or fewer yards.
58:10I mean, that's yards per carry, but, but that's just, that's effectiveness.
58:14That's efficiency. I mean, like at some, I agree, you know, maybe the offensive line is not the best, but that's the worst rate in the NFL.
58:23Well, for a player getting that amount of volume to not even be able to hit three yards on 67% of your carries, that's a big deal.
58:32I mean, that's bad. The numbers were bad for Jinty on his yards per carry.
58:37I mean, you are up against it when you have no quarterback play and you don't have the opportunity for the defense to focus on anything else.
58:45That's all I'm saying. And Monken's a better strategist.
58:48They have a better offensive line. And I'll take a 22 year old running back who passed the eye test to me.
58:56That's all I'm saying. I will too, but I don't like losing teams.
59:00I don't think I'm going to do it this year.
59:03I, I want to give Judkins his props and just say he's a really good running back.
59:09But like you said, they're going to be losing games.
59:12I'd rather have him saying. They're going to be losing games and they're not going to score a ton of touchdowns.
59:19This isn't the situation. They don't have a good offensive line, even though they added Spencer Fano.
59:25So that I think I would much rather go in on the passing than the, than the running.
59:31Let's have the conversation around this division. Then Jalen Warren or Quinchan Judkins.
59:35Cause Warren is behind him in ADP. Warren. See, I'll take Judkins.
59:39I'll take the workload. David Montgomery or Quinchan Judkins.
59:42Montgomery's too space behind him. I think I'll take Montgomery.
59:45Jadarian Price is just behind him. Price will go up though.
59:49Ramondre Stevenson or Quinchan Judkins. That one's funny. I'm going to make you say some name that you don't like.
59:55I will take Judkins there. Mike, you're going to answer.
59:59It's probably Ramondre. DeAndre Swift. Oh, that's easy. Those are, those are the guys going.
60:04So it's like Tootin, Swift, Judkins in drafts. Most, most of those guys I would take over Judkins simply because of the Browns situation.
60:11And I, and I do too. I love the player.
60:15I just don't know what the ceiling cap is.
60:18Yeah. He is. Could he be, could he be a top 15 back?
60:22Like if things went right, that's, that's kind of the, a part of that discussion that is the, is the targets.
60:29And I'm not saying Judkins can't do that. Like we have some evidence in college that he can, but what we saw
60:36with Monken with Derrick Henry, when it was time to pass the ball, Derrick Henry's off the field.
60:42You're saying this is a Dylan Samson. And they, and Dylan Samson last year, he saw 40 targets as a rookie.
60:49That's all I think of. Does. It's so stupid.
60:52Like that's a, a question that we need training camp to hopefully answer for us is how does Monken view the offense?
60:59Is Judkins to him going to be on the field when they're, you know, when game script is great or will he
61:07just be a three down guy that I don't think we have the answer to yet.
61:12Start, start making your notes on your division order.
61:15Okay. All right. All right. Cause we got to predict this division as we, as we wrap it up.
61:21I don't, I don't know if there are any other big questions around Cleveland other than whether you'd take a shot on either of the rookie wide receivers.
61:30I think both are fine to take a shot on because they'll be very cheap.
61:35For the Browns? Yeah. I mean, I would, like Denzel Boston is the very, he's a perfect last round pick in fantasy
61:42because you will not have to spin anything higher than that.
61:46He's, he's, he's made a lot of headlines. What's difficult, what's a lot like the lottery ticket you were just talking about
61:53with the Ravens where you've got to then get the, yeah, but he's at least the second rounder.
61:59And they're the one, I mean, you got the chance to be the one on the team.
62:05Like Zay Flowers, you're, you're battling to be the three, the, or the two.
62:09Just a reminder, because when we said it, Jerry Judy's still on this team and Isaiah Bond has been getting a lot of off season hype around him.
62:19So the, the depth chart for the Browns is actually pretty murky right now.
62:23Would you draft Jerry Judy in a Jerry Judy only league?
62:27No, I would, I would. You'd pass. I would quit the league.
62:31Yeah. My division winner is Baltimore followed by Cincinnati, then Pittsburgh, then Cleveland.
62:35I have Cincinnati winning the division. I figured you would.
62:38Baltimore will go second and then Steelers and Cleveland.
62:41Jason, I've got Baltimore winning the division. I've got Pittsburgh second with the defense since he third in Cleveland is the free bingo square.
62:49On Thursday, on Thursday, we will talk AFC South.
62:52And as a reminder, again, three shows a week.
62:55So we'll have a Saturday episode of the podcast.
62:58Oh man, your lawn doesn't stand a chance. No, it doesn't.
