Bucky Irving

NegativeProjection40:33

The source classifies Irving as a 'film room zero' due to a loss of his 'home run gear' and a significant decline in yards after contact. Despite his lightning-quick lateral agility, his small frame makes him vulnerable to contact in traffic, and he struggles to escape trouble behind a poor offensive line. The source notes that his injury history (foot/shoulder) is a concern and expects his draft value to decrease in his third season.

Insight page
NegativeUsage45:05

Bucky Irving is a sub-200 pound running back who prefers to run inside and make cuts in traffic, which is a dangerous playing style that leads to him getting 'smushed' by defenders.

Insight page

Cordarrelle Patterson

PositiveBust32:35

Harris identifies Cordarrelle Patterson as a 'Film Room Zero,' noting that he is outside his top 50 receivers. Harris argues that Patterson's recent production has been 'donezo' and that his role is gadget-based, random, and not scary at any level, despite the potential for a high-target game.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

NegativeRole53:20

D'Andre Swift is a 'film room zero' who is frustrating to roster because he constantly seeks to bounce runs outside rather than taking what is there, making him susceptible to losing his role to more disciplined backs like Khalil Herbert.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

NegativeProjection23:43

The source views Goedert as a 'film room zero' due to a noticeable decline in speed and separation ability. While he finished as a top-five tight end last year, that production was heavily reliant on 11 touchdowns and a high volume of schemed red-zone touches rather than high-volume receiving work. The source notes he is no longer the dangerous seam-stretcher he once was and compares his current trajectory to Brent Celek, suggesting he is unlikely to repeat his high-end fantasy finish.

Insight page

Davante Adams

NegativeProjection33:00

The source ranks Adams as WR17, noting that his previous high-end finish was heavily touchdown-dependent. Adams shows a clear decline in speed and struggles to generate separation on deeper routes, relying almost exclusively on his elite short-area quickness. The source warns of high variance and potential regression, suggesting he is a risky fantasy asset who may struggle to produce without a high touchdown rate.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeRole15:41

Reports suggest the Browns may be leaning toward starting Deshaun Watson over Shedeur Sanders, a move Harris views as potentially poor given Watson's contract situation, but he is reporting the current buzz from beat reporters.

Insight page

Eli Stowers

NegativeDepth Chart24:44

The source notes that Stowers failed to make significant inroads during his rookie training camp, which retrospectively made the decision to retain Dallas Goedert necessary for the Eagles, despite the team being prepared to move on from the veteran.

Insight page

Josh Downs

NegativeInjury13:23

Josh Downs suffered a groin injury, but initial reports indicate it is not a significant concern.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

NegativeDepth Chart44:19

The source describes Gainwell as a 'faded photocopy' of Bucky Irving, noting that he is currently part of a crowded, split backfield in Tampa Bay that limits the fantasy upside for all involved.

Insight page

Khalil Herbert

NegativeRole55:07

Khalil Herbert is viewed as a more reliable, 'honest' runner than D'Andre Swift because he is willing to run where the play is designed to go, which earned him more red zone touches in the latter half of last season.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

NegativeProjection58:06

Kyle Pitts is a 'film room zero' who is not a good player; he rounds off his routes, lacks suddenness, is a liability as a blocker, and had zero plays of 20+ yards after the catch last year. His fantasy production was heavily inflated by one three-touchdown game.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeInjury9:05

Luther Burden suffered a groin injury in camp that is expected to sideline him for about a month, leading Harris to lower his ranking by about a round (WR29 standard, WR27 PPR). Harris dismisses the 'wish casting' of those suggesting he will be fine for Week 1, noting that this injury lowers his range of outcomes and could be a recurring issue during the season.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

NegativeProjection6:59

Harris is increasingly optimistic about Malik Nabers being ready for Week 1, noting that despite missing 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 work, camp observers report he looks excellent. Harris moved him into his top 20 receivers (16 standard, 17 PPR) and top 40 overall, suggesting a third-round draft pick is a strong value for a player with first-round talent, though he cautions against over-drafting him due to the inherent injury risk of his knee.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeBust36:37

The source is skeptical of Harrison, arguing that his tape has not shown the separation or route-running prowess expected of a high-pedigree prospect. While he is a capable contested-catch and jump-ball receiver, the source compares his lack of separation to Quentin Johnston and suggests that current optimism is driven more by draft capital and 'wish-casting' than actual on-field performance. The source prefers Michael Wilson in rankings.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

NegativeInjury13:08

Michael Pittman suffered a leg injury in Steelers camp, but early reports suggest it is minor and precautionary. Harris is monitoring the situation to confirm it remains a non-issue.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

NegativeBust13:57

Harris explicitly states he will not be drafting Rashad Bateman, dismissing the hype surrounding him despite Matt Harmon's support.

Insight page

T.J. Hockenson

NegativeBust29:13

Jimmy McCormick identifies T.J. Hockenson as a 'Film Room Zero' for 2026, citing a statistical decline and a 'plotting' appearance on film. McCormick argues that Hockenson struggles to separate and that players like Jauan Jennings could be more effective. Harris ranks him 24th among tight ends, noting his speed grade has dropped to a 'C' and that he failed to look like a high-value asset last year.

Insight page

Ty Johnson

PositiveInjury13:27

Ty Johnson, the Bills' primary third-down back, suffered an injury that 'didn't sound great.' Harris notes this could open an opportunity for Ray Davis, who has been a deep sleeper for him in the past.

0:00It's the Harris Fantasy Football Podcast with your host, Christopher Harris.
0:04Welcome! Hey everybody, welcome in. My name is Chris.
0:07This is a show disguised as the Prisoner's Dilemma.
0:10What is going on? Thank you so much for listening today.
0:14I hope you had a nice weekend. No matter what's going on in your world right now, from silly stuff to serious
0:21stuff, I hope we can build an hour where you get to set your mind on things that don't really matter that
0:29much, though it is fun to talk about them as though they do.
0:33Before I get started, one email. This is from Ian V., I think possibly from Chicago, also possibly parts unknown.
0:40Hey Harris, it just so happens in the car ride home on the way back from a weekend in Wisconsin, go Bears,
0:47My brother Andrew put on your pod, only to have you do that spiel for new listeners.
0:53What prompted you to do that? Big coincidence. Anyway, tapeworms, I can kind of understand how that could be a thing, but
1:01Children of the Possum is definitely weird. My brother said, this show is so stupid, which apparently is also a thing for you guys.
1:09LOL. Big fan of the pod, one episode in.
1:12See that? There's always someone new tuning in for the first time and getting totally confused about, like, wait, why is that
1:20guy yelling at me off the top of the show?
1:23That's weird. Welcome to all the new listeners. Hopefully the very stupid nature of the show and all the inside jokes won't turn your brain to complete mush.
1:33And of course, welcome to all of you regular listeners as well.
1:37Let me mention that the bribery has commenced. I did my first Zoom with a book bribery winner this weekend.
1:44It was lovely, a fun conversation. I will post a picture on social media, already posted it on the Yacht Club Discord.
1:51Bribery works. If you preorder my new novel, Pound Foolish, and send me a screen capture, you're entered.
1:57We'll be doing a drawing at the end of today's show for a Yacht Possum hat or t-shirt of your choosing.
2:04Right now is the best time to do this.
2:07We only have about 300 people who've preordered the book.
2:11That is not going to get Cumulative Press a bestseller.
2:14Did you notice I just kind of screwed it up, even on that little intro to the sound drop?
2:21However, even though that is not nearly enough people, it is something that gives you better odds to win the sooner you enter.
2:29And yes, if you're just tuning in, rejoining the podcast, I finally have a new novel coming out September 1st.
2:35Stanley wrote in this morning and said, hey, one reason people might not be preordering is because you said it's a sequel,
2:43and maybe they haven't read Slotback Rhapsody. And I appreciate that note.
2:47Let me put everyone's mind at ease. You really do not have to have read Slotback or listened to Slotback.
2:54This is a completely freestanding story. I'd say if you have read or listened to Slotback, there are a few Easter eggs
3:01that you might recognize, but you do not have to have read or listened to Slotback to fully experience Pound Foolish.
3:09Anyway, I am bribing you to preorder it anywhere but Amazon because of the way the bestseller lists are constructed.
3:15Amazon sales don't help in August. You can get it there in September.
3:20There are going to be giveaways every day the rest of August.
3:24Plus, I think you'll like the book. It's a mystery about a serial killer who might be on a pro football team.
3:31All the info you need is at harrishhopal.com under there's a pound foolish in the menu.
3:37They'll order it now. And also, if you find yourself listening to me say this and you're like, listen, just right now, expenses are too tight.
3:46I cannot justify the expense. Please let me know.
3:49Please. There's no embarrassment in it. HeyHarris at harrishfootball.com.
3:52We have several really generous donors who want to buy you a book and enter you into the bribery like everybody else.
3:59We Yacht Possums take care of each other. Very glad to help.
4:04Drop me an email. HeyHarris at harrishfootball.com. All right.
4:07So it's a Monday morning. Let's talk NFL news from over the weekend.
4:11There were two changes I made to the ranks this morning.
4:15The current ranks at harrishfootball.com are now the most current ones.
4:19First off, on the positive side, I'm starting to believe Malik Neighbors could really be ready week one and could, you know, hopefully go without a hitch.
4:28It's August 10th. Neighbors still hasn't done any 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 work yet.
4:32But we have to admit, this is a process.
4:35And also, I said it in July. Something we were very interested in tracking day by day when we were going to be talking about the Giants.
4:45And every Giants camp observer says that Neighbors looks really good.
4:48I did not bump him up where he would have gone without the torn ACL, obviously.
4:54But I did get him inside my top 20 receivers.
4:57Right now, 16 standard, 17 PPR. Does he have downward mobility from here?
5:02Of course. You know what that's going to look like.
5:05Does he have more upward mobility from there? Maybe a little bit.
5:09Maybe we're getting close to what I think my limit is.
5:13Because this does put him inside the top 40 overall for me.
5:17So if you're thinking third round for Neighbors, that's fine.
5:20I think that could work out really well, obviously.
5:24The upside of it is you're getting a round one player in round three.
5:28That would be great. The downside is obvious. If the market wants to get way more aggressive than that, I'm probably willing to miss it.
5:37Because playing week one isn't the only thing. The knee holding up all season is important too.
5:43But certainly, optimism about Neighbors. And then pessimism about Luther Burden.
5:46Suffered a groin injury in camp. We're told Monday morning, immediately, he's likely to miss about a month.
5:53This is an actual real injury, not just a tweak.
5:56So he's done for the rest of training camp.
5:59That matters. It's his second training camp. His first one, where his head's not spinning because he's a rookie.
6:06I, as you probably know, already had Romo Dunze slightly ahead of Burden.
6:10I think there are going to be folks who tell you, Oh no, no.
6:15Don't bother dropping Burden. He'll be back for week one.
6:18I think those are people who just are a little take committed.
6:22They're in the wish casting business. This has to lower Luther Burden's range of outcomes at least a little.
6:29If only because it's a fresh injury and it could happen again in the season.
6:34I didn't do anything crazy lowering him. But I did lower him.
6:38Four or five spots among receivers. Down to wide receiver 29 standard.
6:4227 PPR. About a round, I would say, in the combined ranks.
6:46This doesn't mean he's definitely missing week one. But again, I'll say it.
6:51If Burden wasn't already, quote unquote, some people's guy.
6:54Like this is my guy. That they already were extending themselves on.
6:58If this was like DJ Moore did this. If Cortland Sutton did this.
7:02The players that the hipsters have bypassed. Like you know that they would drop those guys like a hot potato.
7:09So if they're telling you don't drop Burden, I think they're compromised.
7:13Shall we say. We had the news that Laramie Tunsell, the starting left tackle for the commanders.
7:19He tore a triceps. Is probably out for the season.
7:22Leaving Washington's offensive line pretty thin. I think we'll probably mention it later in the show today.
7:28Although hard to draw a perfectly straight line. That goes, you know.
7:32That's exactly how much Terry McLaurin should drop in the ranks.
7:36Jaden Daniels should drop in the ranks. I'm not going to do that.
7:40I don't usually do that when a peripheral player gets hurt.
7:44But it certainly affects the environment. Losing good players hurts an environment.
7:48No question. Other stuff from the weekend. Michael Pittman suffered a leg injury in Steelers camp.
7:54To this point, it seems like him limping off from practice was not that big a deal.
8:00And precautionary. We'll make sure that that's the case.
8:03Josh Downs suffered a groin injury. Once again, told not that big a deal.
8:07Ty Johnson, the Bills receiving back. As of my recording this right now, I don't know anything for sure.
8:14But didn't sound great. Ray Davis has been a super deep sleeper for me in the past.
8:20Johnson, though, has stubbornly held off Davis and been the main third down back in Buffalo.
8:25We'll see what that looks like in the coming days.
8:29If you're looking for a less heralded rookie receiver to potentially believe in, we've kind of talked back and forth about the Ravens.
8:37And are we really going to do this with Rashad Bateman again?
8:41The answer is absolutely not. We are not going to do this with Rashad Bateman again.
8:46Sorry, Matt Harmon. I know you love him. I'm not drafting him.
8:50And probably in most leagues, I'm going to guess I won't be drafting either one of the Ravens rookie receivers.
8:57But one of those two guys, it has been Jacoby Lane, that the beat guys in Baltimore simply can't stop gushing about.
9:05One of them said that Lane is submitting the best receiver rookie training camp that he's ever seen.
9:11It's going to be worth tracking. So it's not Elijah Surratt so far.
9:15It's Jacoby Lane, who has made the noises. I haven't committed to getting Lane into draftable territory yet.
9:21But, you know, my pay attention to him o-meter, very scientific device, is now tuned in.
9:27And for the next week or two, like, let's start getting into those intra-squad scrimmages, which I think are very useful for young players.
9:35So, yeah, I'll just be tracking it a little closer.
9:38And then the Browns are doing this again at quarterback.
9:42More beat reporters are telling us, hey, it actually might be Deshaun Watson, after all, at quarterback.
9:48I think the Browns are probably leaking this too to prepare the NFL landscape for an unthinkable decision.
9:54Some of the national reporters who act like they've really got their finger on the pulse of everything that's happening in the
10:01league when, in fact, all they're doing is texting people in front offices and accepting their word as gospel.
10:08But somebody seems to be telling them that Watson might be ahead of Shador Sanders again.
10:13And you remember that happening back in the spring?
10:16And we all reacted like, why? I think it's a bad move, kids.
10:21But I'm just here to repeat what the repeaters are saying.
10:24Can't really understand why the Browns would even make this an option with Watson's insane contract finally about to expire at the end of this year.
10:33Imagine if he plays and is okay. And now you have to make a decision about giving him a new contract.
10:41Insane stuff. But we shall see. Today's kickoff. Okay, on today's show, it's time to check out the Zeros.
10:47Film room Zeros. That is, you heard us do some heroes on Thursday's podcast.
10:52Well, today is the opposite. These are players we don't particularly think are great.
10:57Or at least maybe we don't think they're as great as conventional wisdom would have it.
11:02There's something about them that we think isn't so good.
11:05Maybe more than one thing. Film room Zeros for 2026.
11:09And my guest will be Jimmy McCormick. I know you'll have fun.
11:13Jim always brings the fun. And I thank you again so much for listening today.
11:18We are sponsored today by Shopify. If you've gotten an almanac this year, you've used Shopify because I use Shopify.
11:25What a difference it has made. If you have a business idea like I did, Shopify makes it easy to make it happen.
11:33Everything you need to start selling is included from day one.
11:37It's great. For my customers, which is largely you, the checkout with Shopify is really simple.
11:42It's great peace of mind to never hear a word of questioning for potential customers about the checkout process.
11:49And once my almanac store was set up, I just didn't really have to think about it, which gave me more time
11:56to write it and to tell you about it.
11:59I am thrilled with Shopify. They power millions of businesses worldwide.
12:03The customer support is great. With Shopify, nothing stands between your idea and a real business.
12:08So go make it one. Start your free trial at shopify.com slash Harris.
12:13That's shopify.com slash Harris. Start your free trial. Shopify.com slash Harris.
12:17Today's guest. Underscore Baron. His jokes make me smile.
12:20Lawsuits he's drafted. Never meaning to file. Poisons Rhode Island.
12:23The Underscore Baron. It's such an ominous Knights in White Satin sort of introduction for The Underscore Baron.
12:29You know, he's not on social media as much.
12:32I don't know. You're Johnny Dawkins on Blue Skies, but it's spelled John, right?
12:37Yeah. It's not that great Sixers player in the late 80s.
12:41Great for Duke, though. Johnny Dawkins. But yeah, I've yet to do much Blue Skying.
12:46But maybe LeBron brings me to the sky. I don't know.
12:50You don't do much tweeting either. Basically, don't follow Jim.
12:53He's a school teacher. What are you following Jim for?
12:56It's creepy. Stop following him. Yeah, seriously. So we were chatting here before the button got pushed.
13:02And I was referring to the worry that I'm booking this tour, these gigs to read to the people here in the West.
13:10And I'm having a lot of books sent out to be purchased by people and signed.
13:16And if four people show up, it's going to be a little embarrassing.
13:20The cool part is that I read a lot, and they have to show up.
13:25If they don't, it's like truancy. So I have a fixed audience, which is cool.
13:30You might want to think about that. Do you have any words of wisdom for the folks who are in...
13:37I mean, the one issue is that the Seattle people have complained a little bit that I'm doing it in Tacoma.
13:44But that's where the bar was volunteered. Sam's bar is in Tacoma.
13:48So you can make that drive. I think Brandon Funston is going to come to that one.
13:54I'm going to ask him tomorrow. But the people of the Seattle-Tacoma area, Portland, Vegas, and Phoenix, they should definitely come, right?
14:02They should. It's the Chris Harris tour. I won't be opening, but spiritually I will be.
14:07So let's just trust the process. You have a copy of the book.
14:12I do. I do. Yeah. Yeah. Probably something you'll be adding to the kids' curriculum.
14:17Because it's really appropriate for my listeners. Absolutely. It'll be like a choral reading.
14:22We'll take turns. Murder and swearing. That's basically what I boil pound-foolish down to.
14:26Murder and swearing. And a little football, too. All right.
14:30Well, you've done the Film Room Zeros list for...
14:33I think this might be the fifth year in a row.
14:37So you know what... On the one hand, you know what to do.
14:41So I don't think you're going to like biff the assignment.
14:45On the other hand, how many people can you hate?
14:48Because we're trying not to repeat from the previous year, but sometimes you do anyway.
14:53So, you know, we did Film Room Heroes with JJ back on Thursday.
14:58And of course, the counterpoise to that. But it's funny that I made you the Film Room Zeros guy, because you're not
15:05like a negative football watcher particularly, except when it comes to the Eagles.
15:10But as you are tasked with this now every year to come up with people who watching them play, you're like, huh.
15:17What's your criteria? I have a type. I mean, I suppose it's like when there...
15:22It feels like there's a breaking point or a change has occurred.
15:26A variety of factors. Obviously, it's not just the player, but like the surroundings.
15:31It could be just like more doubt. Let's not this list, though, Jim.
15:36I guess I'm wrong. You can do this wrong.
15:39Yeah, I did it wrong. The idea is players that I understand are...
15:43That I don't want this year. That I find they're in decline.
15:47That didn't look good enough on tape. Okay, there you go.
15:51That's the key. Because, I mean, the point is all these lists really are just an excuse to talk about players.
15:58So I don't honestly care why you're bringing up a player.
16:02It's fine. The assignment is really more about... Less about surroundings and more about talent.
16:07More about like finding a player overall lacking. But I will freely admit I've asked you to do this so many years
16:15in a row that at some point, you know, at some point you're out of guys that you're like, that guy stinks.
16:22You know, you're going to say the same name every year.
16:26Or... So it's honestly whatever. I just think of like Allen Robinson, for example.
16:31Like it's the Memorial Allen Robinson Award. Or like the Miles Sanders.
16:35I said Sander. Like singular. But that's a Philadelphia thing.
16:38You just ruin people's last names. But no, like Allen Robinson, I saw like...
16:43It felt like all these factors were going in.
16:46So I probably ruined it with crutch arguments. But the real point was that there was a decline happening that year with the Bears.
16:54And then there was this shine that he was going to the Rams.
16:59And it just felt like this misread on what he was.
17:02And I suppose that's also how I look at it.
17:06Like that he wasn't playing to what his reputation was.
17:09So... Yeah. Misread on what they are is a good way of putting it.
17:14But if it winds up being something else, it's fine.
17:17As I say, it's simply an excuse to talk about players.
17:21So that the folks hear us talk about lots and lots of players before they have to do their drafts.
17:28It's funny you mentioned Miles Sanders because he actually was on an NFL team this time last year.
17:34The Cowboys. And he made my list last year because, man, the fall off was precipitous, as they say.
17:41So we're going to... Pointless countdown. Five through one.
17:44We're going to talk through our film room zeros for 2026.
17:48It doesn't matter who number five is. But it's very important who number five is.
17:53Who's number five? It is. TJ Hawkinson. Oh. He just...
17:56He's... Obviously, there's like a statistical decline. But really, it's just...
18:00I find that he's like... This looks more plotting.
18:03More... Me too. It just looks like you could just...
18:06He sits in his areas and that's fine. I just...
18:10I feel like Jawan Jennings can just be a better version of that right away.
18:15And it's not even just like... Look, you said it's not contextual.
18:19All the pecking order stuff. It's that like earning targets is a skill in a lot of ways.
18:25And to do that with basically like a declining skill set, I'm not a huge fan of.
18:31Yeah. I'm interested when we get to the second half of August and we start feeling like ADP has any sort of
18:38value because I really just don't feel like it does right now.
18:43Nobody's really drafting. I'll be very interested to see what people do with TJ Hawkinson.
18:48And I'm with you that last year, of course, the surroundings were totally disastrous.
18:52But he himself did not look the same. And you know he was recovering from...
18:58I mean, he has since recovered from a very severe knee injury.
19:02And I ranked him 24th among tight ends. His speed grade among tight ends for me is down to a C.
19:09This is a very good... Like, I'm gonna... Because last year was so disastrous, he finishes, what, 29th among tight ends playing 15 games?
19:17Yeah, for game 27th. It wasn't good. Yeah, bad.
19:20Like, I can imagine maybe people aren't gonna be tempted by the name brand anymore.
19:25But it's so worth saying that the name brand didn't look like it had much value going forward last year.
19:32He's a year further removed from a bad knee injury.
19:36But, like, if you look in the almanac, you look at his profile, you'll see places on film where I just said, yeah, he's not separating.
19:44He's not separating himself from that infinite sadness of tight ends.
19:48That too. Agreed. I will have a tight end on this list, but he will come much later in the show.
19:55My number five... Hey, let's talk slow, guys. I have the coconut Debo Samuel, who wasn't on a team when I wrote the almanac until the last minute.
20:05I mean, I guess I should thank the 49ers for making the...
20:09I mean, I'm not thanking them. Like, the almanac has now been out exactly one week.
20:14And it was last weekend that they signed Samuel because Ricky Pearsall was no more.
20:20And, like, they needed somebody. He has a lot of experience in the offense.
20:24He knows what he's doing. He also is earning a very small amount of money by NFL standards.
20:31And a lot of it isn't guaranteed. And based on, really, the last year in San Francisco, which led me to really
20:38fade him last year in Washington, there's just not much left, I don't think.
20:43Of course he's big and bruising. It could wind up going wrong.
20:47Fading him could wind up going wrong if his coach just decides...
20:51Like he did one year in his career. I mean, it's only one year for Debo.
20:56Every other year has been a disaster for fantasy.
21:00That one year sure was good. But, like, unless you just get the...
21:04Yeah, they decided to give him 100 carries out of the backfield and I just biffed it.
21:10I'm willing to miss. He's outside my top 50.
21:13He looks like he's donezo beyond donezo. And, like, okay, at the beginning of last year before everything went to crap in
21:20Washington, sure, I mean, like a 10-target game in week one.
21:24And it was a bunch of screens like you'd expect.
21:28And, you know, I understand what can go right.
21:31But that kind of thing can go right for every player.
21:34Yeah, I mean, I think having a singular name is just, like, not fair.
21:39It's just, like, if you just play Debo, it's just really difficult to fade that person.
21:45But no, seriously, the anchor effect is strong. I still think about it.
21:49I still... My brain still goes to, what if he runs for, like, eight touchdowns?
21:54And it's just... That's a singular outcome. He could.
21:57But a lot of things would have to happen, of course.
22:01And there's a lot of players out there, right?
22:04But I guess I'm supposing what could he do just right now in this offense.
22:09And it's gadgety, of course. Like, that's what he does.
22:13But at the same time, I watched a lot of NFC East last year.
22:17And he just was not scary, like, at any level.
22:21So I'm just not worried about him. Even with how well they scheme him open or whatever, get him the ball in advantageous situations.
22:29It just feels a little bit desperate and completely random.
22:32But, like, two years ago, the Eagles signed Devin White from Tampa.
22:37And everybody's really excited because of the name value.
22:40And then you look to the contract. You're like, wow, this is really good.
22:44He's dressed up. This is a fake contract. And that can speak sometimes to what the team thinks, too.
22:51Yes. Yeah. I mean, I think he, you know, he signs for more money if he could have gotten it somewhere else.
22:58This was obviously the best deal he could have gotten.
23:02And the hands are rough, really rough. You know, they essentially, the Niners two years ago made Debo available at the trade deadline.
23:10Like, we will give him away. We do not want him on the team anymore.
23:15And they stopped using him. Last year, Washington had him as a starter.
23:19And towards the end of last year, he was a part-time player.
23:23He was, once again, had sort of worked his way.
23:27They're playing McCaffrey over him. Right. I'm just, he had 1,400 yards receiving that one COVID year.
23:33Freaky weird year. He's never topped 900 otherwise. And, you know, my argument is just he doesn't look good.
23:39You're number four. This is tough to admit, but it's Dallas Goddard.
23:43Ooh, yeah. He's really slow. He scored a lot of touchdowns, though, man.
23:48I don't know what you're talking about. Yes. Yes.
23:51So much of it was, first of all, they led the league, right, in, like, comebacks or whatever you want to call them.
23:59Basically, like, he just ran a series of button hooks.
24:02He would just, like, turn and three seconds later, Jalen Hurts would give it to him.
24:07And then he would turn. And it was really, like, they schemed him so many touches in the red zone.
24:14And he can still stiff arm with the best of them.
24:18But there's no separation. There's no more of that seam stuff that made him really dangerous.
24:23Because he's not ever going to be a high-volume guy.
24:27So it always was about the ability to turn in big plays.
24:31I just have, like, Brent Selick flashbacks. And I'm just like, please no.
24:35Brent Selick. This is, remember, some guys moment there.
24:39Agreed. He is slow as slow can be. And they were very prepared to move on.
24:44Now, in retrospect, given, I'm sure your Philly media watching mode is a little worried about Eli Stowers not having a very
24:51good rookie training camp and not making inroads at all.
24:55So in retrospect, it's a good thing. It seems like that they kept Goddard because, but they were absolutely ready to cut him.
25:03And he took a lot more money, less money, rather, to come back.
25:07It's like two years in a row that's happened, right?
25:11Like, they just wait around and they're just like, hey, I guess we're going to do this again.
25:17Right. Yeah. Like, what is he? He's 31. There was a time.
25:21You know, I would say overall, despite last year finishing as the tight end, too.
25:26It was obviously based on 11 touchdowns. He had not even 600 yards receiving.
25:31You know, I'm still going to say my overall career hopes.
25:35Goddard was definitely one of those guys I posted a lot of career hopes.
25:39I thought, you know, I thought it could be a kid, a complete kind of tight end.
25:45Does everything. Really good blocker, et cetera. But that speed is just long gone.
25:50And I'm with you. Like, probably the plan, the optimal thing for that offense would be Stowers or someone else being able to work his way in more.
25:59I find it, again, I'm not looking at ADP.
26:03I don't think ADP matters. I find it difficult to imagine anybody's going, cool, Dallas Goddard.
26:08He finished tight end, too, last year. So he's going to finish top five this year.
26:13I think everyone kind of gets the deal. Yeah, we get it.
26:18I think. But I guess maybe I'm thinking of the same idea of the Hawkinson vein.
26:23Like, people I could see being comfortable with him as your tight end one.
26:28And that could still work out, obviously. This is a strange position.
26:32It's just that the actual tape shows that a player just doesn't look as good.
26:37And I've been watching him his whole career. It's like pronounced how slow he looked last year.

27:43That's PolicyGenius.com. Okay, we're back with Jim, and we are counting down our film room zeros for 2026.
27:49I'm going to have a couple very young players on here, and it's not fair.
27:54Because you don't want to say someone can't get better.
27:58You don't want to say yada, yada, yada. You know the drill.
28:02But I'm going to say Jacory, Krosky, Merritt, another Commander's Connection here.
28:06And on the Yacht Club last Wednesday with Andy, we were listing players who could lose their jobs.
28:12And I listed JCM on that list as well.
28:15But on the main show, people have not heard me talk about JCM.
28:20So we want to always make sure we're trying to cover as many guys on the main show as possible.
28:26So let's do a little JCM talk. And it isn't fair to say, oh, he's just terrible, and will always be terrible.
28:34Like, I thought he was pretty terrible last year.
28:37For as much opportunity as the guys the commanders gave him, I thought he didn't play well.
28:43I will absolutely freely acknowledge it was not an optimal scenario.
28:47Jaden Daniels getting hurt. You're having to play with Marcus Mariota.
28:50You get the receivers getting hurt. You know, a lot of stuff is crumbling around him.
28:56Offensive coordinator gets fired, yada, yada. But, like, all you can really do in a case like this with a young player,
29:03now that we have one year of NFL tape, is go back and watch it.
29:08And I've watched enough running backs that I thought were kind of backup quality.
29:13That's the vibe that I got off of JCM last year.
29:17He's pretty fast, but I don't think he really makes anybody miss.
29:21He's certainly small, so he's not, like, running over anybody.
29:24They didn't throw it to him. And by the end of last year, Chris Rodriguez had very clearly passed him.
29:31So, again, I will, of course, stipulate that there's, you know, people have weird moments.
29:36He was not even went into last year's camp expecting to have the job.
29:41Suddenly, Brian Robinson gets traded. Like, oh, my God, JCM becomes this big, hyped guy.
29:46And I very clearly did not live up to it.
29:50But, and I, again, don't want to say that if you take him, you're doomed and he stinks forever.
29:56But he stunk last year. He runs like a big guy, but doesn't play because he's not a big, but he runs
30:04so upright that I just don't, I don't get it.
30:07Like, who taught him that? Like, he's obviously somebody, like, he's really, obviously, his running back coach was better than mine.
30:14But I would just say that, like, Bill, it just seems like what's the, like, you said a lot of negatives.
30:21And I'm still, like, struggling to see what exactly he does at, like, what is his niche in this league?
30:28Yeah, he's a speed guy more than he is anything else.
30:32He's pretty fast. You know, the entire commander's thing last year was kind of off the rails immediately.
30:38Like, I think Austin... The line was so bad, right.
30:42The line was bad. I think Austin Eckler was the plan to start the year.
30:47And then he tears his Achilles, you know, and, like, kind of, I guess, like, week five or something, maybe they elevated JCM.
30:55And you got some speed carries and stuff. Like, you know, if we're going to paint the story of a turnaround, it's
31:02a little less bouncing, a little better vision, a little more lateral elusiveness than he showed last year.
31:08And then, yes, the speed is pretty good. But that's the vein for success.
31:13You know, the teaming of him with Rashad White and the reason why I said, like, JCM might quote-unquote lose his job.
31:21I mean, he's going to play, but I just mean the notion that he's the clear number one or something.
31:27I don't know. We're going to probably find out when we find out.
31:32But the teaming with Rashad White, like, I think Rashad White kind of stinks, too.
31:37He's been on this list before. But there's one thing he does really well.
31:42And so, oops, I guess JCM's not playing on third down.
31:46That seems important. Yeah. And we're talking about investments.
31:49Like, the investment in Rashad White wasn't high. So they're not pot-committed contract-wise to Rashad White.
31:54They have the rookie. They have Katron Allen, who could turn into this year's JCM in terms of, oh, that's the one
32:02everyone wants to fall in love with. So it's a mix.
32:05It's a mess. JCM can get better. But, yeah.
32:08He wasn't very good last year. Do you have any other?
32:12We can move on if you don't have any other JCM thoughts.
32:16I mean, I just, I just, that offense continues to baffle me how poorly they kind of support Daniels.
32:23And it's just, this is like another symptom of it.
32:26Right. There's, there's the triceps tear for Laramie Tunsil.
32:29That's, you know, recent news. And suddenly, okay, cool.
32:32So the guy who they weren't sure could win the left guard job is now the left tackle.
32:38I'm sure that'll go great. You know, there's, there's, there's issues.
32:42There's issues there. And that doesn't mean they can't be solved.
32:46And once again, it doesn't mean that Krosky Merritt can't show better in year two than in year one.
32:52And then I'm not calling left from room zero anymore.
32:56But I am right now. So, Jim, who's your number three?
33:00Uh, this is Devante Adams. Um, we talked about him on a Friday with Josh actually.
33:05So he, he finished wide receiver nine. He's not Dallas Goddard, but I mean, it was very TD driven, obviously.
33:12Not only do you regress that just like expecting that, but he, he just looked a lot slower.
33:18Um, he still obviously can get open. He's got like the, some of the best route mechanics ever, but I mean, having
33:26a Taco Bell in your living room at 33, just a bad idea.
33:30Uh, but seriously, it's like, I just suppose like it's all touchdown rate and it's on tape.
33:36I continue to see a player who can win in those short yardage moments, but he would have to this year.
33:43Like, I don't see him being able to carry you without the touchdowns based on, he's just not getting the separation.
33:50And he doesn't run that role in this offense anymore.
33:54He didn't last year. Yeah. So on Friday with Josh, we did acid reflux all-stars and he was, Adams was number two
34:01on my list, which is to say, I can imagine myself taking the plunge, but I know I'm going to, you know,
34:09have, have the stress farts as we like to say, like, you know, I know we're, I know it's going to be,
34:16you know, like this could go really wrong. High variance.
34:20He's got, he's got very high variance. You said it.
34:23Taco Bell. It works. Wide receiver seven or whatever it was based on 14 touchdowns.
34:28Um, yeah, the speed is worse. Uh, it is, I mean, people have heard a bit of a layup.
34:35It feels like not layup, but like easy because of the age and everything and the touchdown thing.
34:41They're like classic, just like look at this chart kind of things, but it's just true.
34:46Look at the chart. It's true. And yet you said it right, which is the only place he looks like Devante Adams
34:54is in that phone booth is in that, you know, like the, the 0.37 seconds after a snap where he's already open
35:01because his first move is so sudden that doesn't seem like it's gone away.
35:06That's how he gets open in the red zone.
35:09But the problem is he can't back any of that up with the deep cross or the dig or the, you know,
35:17the go route or anything like that. So you have to make a bet that what worked last year works again this year.
35:25I might, depends on the price. I might like, I don't, I don't know if you're maintaining regular ranks, but if I
35:32tell you that Devante Adams is my wide receiver 17, is that like laughably high to you?
35:38Well, no, because the 12, like he is one of the few players where 12 touchdowns is like completely, that's fine.
35:45That wouldn't baffle me at all. It's just that you said the acid reflux thing, the experience that you could be paying
35:53for is so dependent on that, that you're going to be like, he has three catches going into the fourth.
35:59So it's very true. It's very, very true. I mean, I guess I wouldn't be surprised if that's a little bit high
36:07because it, it obviously screams recession, um, regression. It, it, it does.
36:11Um, I don't know. I might chicken out. I might, I might find a couple of guys in his neighborhood that, yeah.
36:18I mean, you're, I can't argue like I, I graded him a C in speed.
36:24He looks slower. This is a theme. We are coming up with some guys who do look slower.
36:30Um, my number three doesn't look slower. And actually we talked about him on the acid reflux list on Friday also, but
36:37it was cousin Josh who had him on his list.
36:41And, uh, he said, so, so is this guy an acid reflux for you?
36:45And I'm like, no, he's just bad. And I'm not drafting him.
36:50It's Marvin Harrison. Um, I don't know if he's bad, but once again, you know, we're talking young players and all you can really do.
36:58I think once they've been in the league is say what you've seen and can what you've seen change.
37:05It can, but until you see it, it seems to me that it's wish casting.
37:10And in Marvin Harrison's case, I think anybody trying to pretend that what they've seen is good is just wishing that their previous take is right.
37:19Wishing that some, you know, there's logic to a player going really high in the NFL draft and, and still, you know,
37:26panning out kind of wishing for order in the universe.
37:30And that can happen, but I don't know how you draft based on it.
37:34Um, you know, Marvin Harrison doesn't really separate on the long ball.
37:38He doesn't really separate on routes. He's good. Jump ball guy, good contested catch guy, but like, so is, I mean, last
37:46year, Jim, you had Quentin Johnston on your list.
37:49And I really, I kind of challenge people to come to like watch and tell me where Quentin Johnson, Marvin Harrison have put down like markedly dissimilar tape.
37:59I mean, if I'm a Chargers fan, I'm like, see, look, look, but, but, but no, it's, I've always wondered what, what does he do?
38:07What has he done well yet? Like you want at least a flash to, to, to be able to buy into the
38:15idea that the draft stock or that the pedigree and the Ohio state performance means something.
38:20Um, it's certainly, if his name was Marvin, I don't know what Harrington, would it be different?
38:26Like, yeah, I took a while to get to Harrington.
38:29Yeah. I mean, he was the, no, if he'd been the number four pick, it would not be any different.
38:36They would still, they would still be pounding. And like, again, he has had legitimate excuses.
38:42He's, he's had to play with late stage Cardinals, Kyler Murray.
38:45He's had bad luck with injuries. He had an emergency appendectomy.
38:49That's not his fault. You know, he had a concussion.
38:53Um, what he, towards the end of the year was his heels.
38:57That was why Michael Wilson was getting so much work.
39:00Cause, cause his heels were bad. Sounds like Joel Embiid.
39:03You're talking about, it sounds like this person's falling apart.
39:07I know he's like 24. Um, you, you're of course right that it's, it's, it's, it's the package that people want to
39:14believe in because we were promised generational. And of course we're promised generational every year, but Harrison, we were really promised generational, you know?
39:23Um, it, he, he hasn't separated. He hasn't, I don't know.
39:26You can look at highlights. You can look at him like running straight down the field, putting his arm up in the
39:34air, not really being open, but it's a nice throw.
39:37And he just is bigger and stronger and wrestles it away.
39:41There are, there's that on film. There's, there is, um, like all, you know, I have Michael Wilson two spots higher.
39:48I don't really know what's going to happen. I'm talking 38 and 40 among wide receivers.
39:54Like I can tell you that Michael Wilson's ball skills are better.
39:58You know, I can tell you he's probably a little faster.
40:02I can tell you, I think he runs better routes at least has to this point.
40:07But if it, if we wake up and it's week eight and Marvin Harrison is fantasy's wide receiver too, because he's become
40:15an alpha, I'll be surprised because he hasn't shown it yet.
40:18But of course we've seen that happen. People do figure stuff out.
40:22So if it's him, it's, uh, good luck to everybody else.
40:26Cause he probably won't be on my roster. So yeah.
40:30Indeed. Um, all right. Your number two film room zero.
40:33Uh, this would be Bucky Irving. Interesting. Yeah. So I really liked him early in his career.
40:39Uh, he like has been basically like the foundation of my large roster.
40:43Uh, it's just that like he, I continue to not understand exactly what he does.
40:48Well, he obviously is not a short yardage guy.
40:51Um, the thing is that like he had this home run gear before and it just like, it was gone this year.
40:59Um, I understand the line was really bad. So like when there was chaos early in the, you know, early behind the
41:06line, that was difficult, but also that's part of his job.
41:10He was really bad at that, at escaping trouble.
41:13And it was his contact balance that I saw that like seemed different.
41:18Um, of course he's coming off of like a series of injuries, but that's also part of his profile.
41:24So, uh, just, yeah, he, he didn't wait like his first year.
41:28He truly looked like a bowling ball, like some Fred Gore style, Frank Gore.
41:33I said Fred Gore, which I should be fired.
41:36Frank Gore style. Uh, just where he like constantly felt like he could weave around and take, take contact.
41:43It just didn't seem that way. And it, the stats back it up.
41:47I don't need to quote them, but he just, he fell apart in yards after contact this year.
41:53The sprinter soldier, Bucky Irving, we like to call him.
41:57Um, I guess I still like him on tape.
42:00I guess, I guess I respect where you're coming from.
42:03I understand your point. If it's going to turn out that he's going to have a better career than he showed last
42:11year, it will largely because what it was against the Eagles.
42:14They got hurt last year. Uh, he didn't, he didn't come out of that game, but at first they were calling it
42:22a sprained foot during the game and then, uh, right.
42:25It changed the shoulder. I mean, in that, in that game, I think he scored like a 72 yard touchdown against the
42:33Eagles, but I guess that's probably why the secret hatred, you know, you just don't like that.
42:39He stayed on the field after the play. And so it was, people were wondering like, what, what is this?
42:46People meaning me, like who, who, uh, everyone know you're a hundred percent right.
42:50Like the, you know, they, they wound up changing it from a foot to a shoulder.
42:56And then I think we now know that he did have shoulder surgery.
43:00The question is the foot that became a shoulder, as I say in the Almanac, like, um, the question comes down to
43:08was anything that he did once he came and missed half the season and then comes back and yeah, he wasn't, he wasn't as good.
43:16Um, I, you know, I'll, I'll keep holding out hope, but he is definitely going to go lower in year three, year
43:24three than he did in year two. I don't think there's any question.
43:28I guess if you're asking me the one good thing that he does, I really still think he's just lightning quick side to side.
43:36He just very decisive feels like he sees it pretty well.
43:40Um, I'm with you. He's never going to run through anybody.
43:44He's tiny, he's tiny bones. And, but I guess the line is a huge part of this, I suppose, cause they just like weren't there last year.
43:53So, yeah, that's a good point. Yeah. Like, um, if you're, if you're frustrated by split backfields, like probably the tiny boned,
44:01maybe, maybe really quick, maybe really talented in that regard.
44:04I tend to think so, but that guy is probably always going to be paired with at least one other person.
44:11In this case, they're pairing him with two other people.
44:15And one of them is like a, it's like a faded photocopy of himself.
44:19Kenny Gainwell is kind of like if Bucky Irving was worse.
44:23Um, and that's scary because. And he responds to emails and stuff.
44:27Do you know what I mean? Like he's like responsible, like not that Bucky Irving isn't.
44:33I'm just saying his name is Kenneth. He doesn't even go by Kenny.
44:37Like. That is very responsible of him. And then, you know, then Sean Tucker is the bowling ball and that there's a
44:45potential for that to turn into no touchdowns for anybody but him.
44:49So I understand why from a fantasy perspective, you'd have some doubts.
44:53And listen, the curse of the tiny bones. You know, I think I've trained you well.
44:58I think I've brainwashed you a little bit about the very small run, you know, the sub 200 running backs.
45:05It's a tough way to live. Especially because Bucky Irving is not really a bounce outside guy.
45:11He wants to run inside and make cuts and avoid in the traffic.
45:16And you do get smushed that way. I'm going to be happy having him in large again, though.
45:22So there you go. A quick break to thank Lisa for sponsoring once again.
45:26You hear me talk about my bed. I absolutely love my Lisa mattress.
45:31I love that in the decade I've been sponsored by Lisa, it's gotten way less weird to get your mattress online rather
45:38than go to a superstore and sit on a dozen mattresses for 30 seconds a piece.
45:44Now you can pick and choose online. Go to L-E-E-S-A dot com.
45:48They have a quick mattress quiz to figure out which feel is right for you.
45:53Then you can have a bed sent direct to your door and get four months to sleep on it and decide if it's perfect for you.
46:02And if it's not, no problem. Get a refund.
46:05They will come pick it up. Plus, Lisa beds are American made by a company that treats its workers well, has a factory celebrated for environmental sensitivity.
46:14And they donate thousands of beds to families in need each year.
46:18I love Lisa. I really do. I think you will too.
46:22And right now is their Labor Day early access sale.
46:26Call 25% off select mattresses at lisa.com. And check out with the code Harris.
46:30That's another $50 off. 25% off at lisa.com. And for another $50 off, use that code Harris.
46:36We are back with Jim and we have a few more names to get to in our film room zeros.
46:43Oh, I just feel good about this one. This is not one that I have any regrets over.
46:49I, JCM, Marvin Harrison, I'm like, well, they're young players.
46:53Yeah, this is a young player. And I guess once again, he could go, he could get a lot better.
46:59My problem is just that he plays in New York and therefore he gets a lot of benefit of the doubt.
47:07Just as Eli Manning for years got benefit of the doubt.
47:10Just as Daniel Jones got benefit of the doubt.
47:13Jackson Dart could be better. Could perform and not run around like his hair's on fire and not wildly throw all over the place.
47:22And if that happens, I will be the first one to come on here and say, wow, this looks different from last year.
47:29My job is to tell you what the surf movie bad guy looked like last year and he did not look good to me.
47:38I don't know. I have much more to say about Jackson Dart, but what's your feeling on him?
47:44No, I mean, yeah. He's like Bruce McCoolface from some movie.
47:48He's just, he's awesome. But he is just like the blend of every kind of like strong-nosed blonde villain from 80s movies.
47:55This is true. Like he's just like my dad has a boat and you don't.
48:00But the problem with him is everything you said is true.
48:04He's like crazy early spaz Josh Allen with none of the good parts.
48:08Like, yeah. Like, I don't know. So 40% of his fancy points came from just running with his hair on fire.
48:16It's the classic, you can't play that way. You can't keep playing that way.
48:20And he's like, no, watch. I can do this.
48:23And I saw it with Carson Wentz. I mean, in some sense, we saw it with Cam Newton, but that was like
48:31a known agreement, meaning that like he kind of knew that trade-off was happening.
48:36I just can't even see how this keeps up like on the field is the thing.
48:41And that matters in terms of tape because his playing style just doesn't seem sustainable.
48:46There is that aspect of it. There's no question.
48:49There's the aspect of like, he needs to take better care.
48:53He needs to not run around like a maniac and get concussed and all that stuff and like take on a linebacker
49:01head on when he's trying to get an extra yard.
49:04Yeah. It's like a hero thing that Wentz did suffer from where it's like constant exceptions being made for you.
49:11And it's like, no, we can't do that. That's not how this works.
49:15So I will grant you. And that is a good reason to be suspicious of his like long-term prospects and also his,
49:23you know, sustainability for fantasy this year. I will also just say from a throwing perspective, it wasn't very good.
49:30His accuracy, his vision. I mean, I think his arm is plenty strong, but there's so many times running and throwing across
49:37his body, the stupid mistake, the mistake that wasn't intercepted.
49:41There are just so many bad throws on that tape.
49:44Yeah, I... His arm strength is dangerous for him.
49:47Like, because he... Yeah. He'll try to make these throws that seem there.
49:52And yeah, no, there was a lot left on the field last year in terms of like just Eagles pick sixes.
49:59I'm looking forward to this year. So. It's funny that you mentioned Carson Wentz because last year in the Almanac, I'm quoting
50:06myself from this year, I speculated that Dart was Carson Wentz with less arm strength, which doesn't feel completely off, except it
50:14omits the part where Dart is a faster runner and has the self-protective instincts of Leroy Jenkins.
50:20There you go. It's all true. You know, like he is...
50:23He is... The self-protective stuff, that is definitely the double-sided coin that people who want to endorse Dart as whatever, the QB7
50:31or something, will just say, I don't care. To me, they're disposable razors.
50:35If he gets hurt, I'll add someone else who can run.
50:39But for as long as he survives, I got a chance at a rushing touchdown every week.
50:45That wins me games. And my constant lament in that regard is always, you know, Anthony Richardson had to be a good
50:52enough thrower to be able to stay on the field and wasn't.
50:56And so like they do have to reach some minimum competent...
51:00Kyler Murray loses his job eventually if he can't throw it straight.
51:04And based on the throwing from last year, Jackson Dart wasn't good enough.
51:09Again, I will admit. Plus, Skeletor's trying to get him.
51:12You know what I mean? Plus, he doesn't have Sidney Sweeney.
51:16He hasn't landed Sidney Sweeney yet. There's a league mate of Cousin Josh who swears that that's his end goal.
51:23Dart and Sidney Sweeney. That's his career goal. I like it.
51:27Yeah. But, you know, despite the hype and the fluffing of players that play in the media capitals, especially in New York,
51:34I'll watch it and tell you if I think it looks better.
51:38It can look better. Like you said, Josh Allen didn't look very good those first couple years.
51:44So it can happen. But I'm just telling you what it's looked like to this point.
51:49And if you're saying, I'm positive it's going to get better.
51:53Well, I've seen it get better and I've seen Anthony Richardson.
51:57So, you know, I guess all I can do is say.
52:01You probably live in North Jersey at that point.
52:04I mean, if that's that thing. It's fine if you do.
52:07We're happy to have you here. No, I'm just saying it means that you root for the team rather than.
52:14You believe. You blew glasses on. Yes. There's a whiff to me of Linsanity.
52:19Wow. Just like a run. Yeah. Like just because it was isolated to like a month of good football or whatever.
52:26Wild football. Or the current Boston Red Sox. There you go.
52:30Where you go, okay, so wait. It's Nick Sogard who's leading this team now?
52:35What if we just don't lose? Right. All these 4A players.
52:39And I'm not saying he's, I'm not saying Dart's a 4A.
52:42Play's a second round. Is he a second round pick?
52:46Or a first round pick? I don't even remember.
52:49He was a first round pick, I thought. Late first.
52:52Yeah, late first. I'm, you know, he's taken in the Kenny Pickett zone where quarterbacks usually don't work out.
52:59But like if it, if it changes, I will, I will change my mind.
53:04But right now I'm talking film room zeros. And to me, that was a bad film to watch.
53:10We are at your number one film room zero for 2026.
53:13Anticlimactic. Anticlimactic. Because I believe he was on this list last year, but maybe for you.
53:19DeAndre Swift. He was my one. He was my one.
53:22He's a home run hitter who just doesn't hit as many home runs as you think.
53:28He loves to go outside. He is a Miles Sanders clone in a sense.
53:33It's ironically replaced him in Philadelphia. But just constantly taking things outside.
53:37And there are rewards to that because he can get to the edge in a lot of cases.
53:43But teams know that. And it's this again, this doesn't have to do with the fact that he has competition.
53:50It's more that he's in this ultra efficient offense.
53:53And that last year felt sort of high, not sort of.
53:56It felt on the higher end of his outcomes.
54:00And I just truly don't believe he's, he doesn't really even take what's there for him.
54:05He constantly is seeking more. Or I just don't know if that's, not that I don't know, I don't believe that's sustainable as like keeping your role.
54:14I feel like he's the type of player who's going to be susceptible to players taking his job because he's so frustrating.
54:22He's so frustrating. He was my number one last year.
54:25He easily could have been on this list again.
54:28He's fast. He's legitimately fast. His name is very accurate.
54:32Yes. His name is very accurate. Like, first of all, we go through who's the Jameer Gibbs in this offense since Ben Johnson is now.
54:40And we've got to go through that whole thing, which, you know, that's not how it works.
54:46They don't. I wrote, I wrote it in my thing.
54:49He's not Jameer Gibbs. Yeah, he's not. Very much not Jameer Gibbs.
54:54And, and then all he had to go up against in Chicago was Roshon Johnson and some seventh round rookie.
55:00You should be able to just freaking do away with him.
55:04Not only that, but Monungay becomes the power back.
55:07He's the same size. The difference between Swift and Monungay is that Monungay will just run where the play's supposed to go.
55:15And the team thought so because they gave him more, you know, touches in the red zone like from week 10 on.
55:22Like, they believe it too. My number that I had in his profile, Swift's profile was from week seven forward, Swift was fantasy's RB 13.
55:31Pretty good. And Monungay was fantasy's RB 19. Which just means the running game was awesome.
55:36And it was so super split. And the ride stunk because there were some weeks where, I mean, let's face it.
55:43Remember that Black Friday game against your Eagles where the Bears ran for like 400 yards.
55:49And their numbers are just going to look good because of that day.
55:53They both played amazing that day. It is, it is, it's not to say the Swift's without value.
55:59I still have him rated RB 23. It's not to say he's not fast because he is.
56:05He's still in his prime. It's just, Kao Monungay.
56:08I watched Kao Monungay film and I was like, I really hope I fall in love with this guy so I can
56:16like make a stand and say that this guy should take over.
56:20And I'm like, oh, cool. They have Isaiah Pacheco too.
56:23Like it's kind of a slow guy who isn't typewriter feet, but like isn't that big.
56:29Tries to run like a power back. Is kind of a good, honest player, but Monungay is very clear.
56:35Willing to do his job, right. Yeah, he's a backup.
56:39It seems to me that Monungay was rightly taken in the seventh round.
56:43And meanwhile, here's John Drew Swift. And we do call him zero.
56:47Just like the Bears have a lot of helium and they should.
56:51But like there's a lot of indicators that like this is going somewhere.
56:56I just don't know if Swift's going to be there for the ride for you.
57:01So. Yeah. I mean, I'll take him before I'll take Monungay because I didn't come away from that film thinking Monungay was all that good.
57:09But it's and I will say over and over, no backs have jobs entirely to themselves unless you mean like Barkley and McCaffrey and Henry.
57:18Otherwise, everybody else. There's a cause to that too.
57:21There's someone else. But yeah, just how many years do we have to do it with Swift where he's this presumptive?
57:28He's the prince who was promised as as is said in something.
57:32Harry Potter is that? I don't know. I've heard it.
57:36I've heard it said enough. You have girls. Do your girls read Harry Potter?
57:41They don't. They don't. Yeah. It's more of a boy thing.
57:44But I think it's some girls do. But every every year for his entire career, it's like, OK, it's all it's it's his show.
57:53And then there's always some reason why it winds up not being his show.
57:57Truly vexing player and a great candidate for this list.
58:01Mine also a predictable name. I thought maybe we were going to overlap on number one.
58:06Kyle Pitts. Yes. We need to keep having a Kyle Pitts conversation because keep the torch lit.
58:12The Kyle Pitts enthusiasts will they'll they'll take over if you let them.
58:16They're like their bedbugs bedbugs. Let's face it. They're like bedbugs.
58:20If you don't fumigate every so often, you run the risk of Kyle Pitts being on your fantasy team.
58:27Like, is he fast? He is undeniably fast. Now I want you to tell me another thing good that he does.
58:34He's he's tall, too. You forgot that. Yeah. He finished tight end three.
58:38Amazing. What a season. And then I am touching my fictional earpiece and being told that as of week 12 last year, he was tight end 22.
58:48So I'm going to guess that your fantasy team wasn't very good and or relying on Kyle Pitts.
58:54OK, but we always say pick up the tight end who's hot and ride him until you can find your Robert Tunyon.
59:01Rock on. Do it. And Pitts could be that guy.
59:05And he the first week of the fantasy playoffs, he does 11 for 166 and three and wins you.
59:11And oh, baby, if you were smart enough to have Kyle Pitts, imagine how great he was in the fantasy finals.
59:18Oh, and I'm being told he caught two passes for 16 yards.
59:22I do not believe that a switch has been flipped with Kyle Pitts.
59:27He is a mistake waiting to happen. His hands are disastrous.
59:31He runs the wrong route. He had zero plays with 20 plus yards after the catch.
59:36Well, he's so high. He does. He stays so high.
59:39I mean, for a tall player, obviously, but he doesn't does no favors to himself.
59:45He leaves his chest up. But he also like the problem that he rounds out all his routes is what I don't like.
59:52Like it's just like who taught you that? Like just like he just doesn't play his.
59:58There's just not a lot of suddenness for this guy that we talk about with this.
60:03To be such a liability as a blocker, like you would think that you could have like, I don't know, sharp route breaking or something.
60:12But that doesn't happen. It seems like kind of like practice-y, like lazy, rounding off the routes as opposed to sharp cuts.
60:19If you take away that game that I mentioned, the three touchdown game in week 15 against the Buccaneers, he would have
60:27been tight end 15, not tight end three. And again, I just want to emphasize for this fast player who's supposed to
60:34be this game breaker, zero plays with 20 yards after the catch.
60:39He's just not a good player. I don't believe he's a good player.
60:43I guess, once again, I can't see the future.
60:46And if this has changed him somehow, if the fact that Drake London and everybody else was injured and Kirk Cousins was
60:54desperately trying to prove that he was relevant, so he was just going to throw like crazy in a meaningless stretch down
61:01the seat, maybe that changed him forever and ever.
61:04And I will feel bad. But I do not feel bad right now.
61:09So Kyle Pitts, predictably, probably. Marvin Harrison needs a hero.
61:12I mean, beyond his dad. I give, I mean, Marvin Harrison's been in the league a lot less.
61:18So I give Marvin Harrison a much better chance.
61:21No, but this could be his outcome, his dream, which would be to be constantly thought of as like, it's going to happen.
61:29And get a, I mean, Kyle Pitts got a contract.
61:33Yeah, that's what I mean. He got a contract.
61:36So, I mean, he can't, I don't, I don't care about the money, right?
61:40So they have infinite amounts of money. The salary cap is fake.
61:44Like, I'm never mad somebody gets paid. It's fine.
61:48No, yeah. And I don't, and I don't believe they're committed if he's terrible.
61:52You know, I don't believe they can't get out from under it.
61:56So like, cool, it's not my money. Pay the man, pay them all money.
62:01It's great. But yes, I do think Kyle Pitts.
62:04I think it more speaks to his career. Like, like that in real football, they see the flashes too.
62:11And they're like, ooh, wow, what if that happened all the time?
62:15And it just, it won't. Yeah, I don't think it will.
62:19I guess I can't definitively say it's sports. Maybe it won't, but it shouldn't, right?
62:24Right. We don't think it will. It's sports. And that's what's fun about sports is that we can't, if it was, you
62:31know, if we could predict it, it would be the encyclopedia.
62:35You know, we can't predict it. And then there's the aspect of him as a teammate and a guy and a person,
62:43an employee, a guy in the building. I'm sure it's all wonderful.
62:47So like, fantastic. You wanted to have him around.
62:50I'm not, I got no problem with that part of it because the cat is fake.
62:55But yeah, I don't, I'm not going to draft him in fantasy.
62:59Don't think he's good. All right. Well, that does it.
63:03And for all of our hemming and hawing off the top, you did exactly the correct assignment.
63:09There you go. I mean, what was I worried about?
63:12That's what I do. I confuse you first and then come through with semi-accurate analysis.
63:17You're the best for doing this. It's not really your job anymore, but you're such a good friend of mine that I
63:25honestly get to, this is the only time we talk for any extended period of time.
63:30So anytime I can get you on the podcast, I will do it.
63:34Don't find Jim anywhere. Don't follow him anywhere. You don't have to subscribe to his newsletter.
63:40The only thing you have to do is petition the Philadelphia school district to teach Pound Foolish.
63:46Other than that, you're free to go, my friend.
63:49That and just root for Joel Embiid's knees, you know?
63:52And thank you so much for listening and thank Joel Embiid's knees for continuing to be attached.
63:58Let's also thank the sponsors. We had three great ones today.
64:02We had Shopify, Policy Genius, and Lisa. If you were interested in what I had to say today about the sponsors, you
64:09can find their information in today's show notes. And when you do pick out a sponsor to support, it really does help the show.
64:18Of course, you don't always have the means and you don't always have the need.
64:23I'm so lucky to have you listening. But if you are interested, you can find all the current sponsors at harrisfootball.com.
64:30Let's pick a winner, shall we? The random number generator has selected a winner.
64:35And that winner is Patty K. Patty wins a hat or a t-shirt.
64:39Yacht Possum, Harris Football, whatever you want. I've emailed Patty and hopefully they will send me a note back and let me
64:47know what they would like off the store there.
64:50And boom, another bribery winner. You can join. Pre-order the book.
64:53You don't have to have read Slotback. Audio books are great.
64:57They count. E-books are great. They count. Send me a screen cap of your pre-order to heyharris at harrisfootball.com.
65:04And you too can join in. And tomorrow, I think we're going to do a signed copy of a prior book.
65:11That's going to be tomorrow's raffle item. And then I think we'll do Zoom stuff soon thereafter.
65:17So there are going to be a lot of Zooms.
65:20I can't do one like every day. But hopefully we'll do between now and the end of the month, we'll probably do another 10 Zooms, I would say.
65:30So keep submitting and, you know, hopefully you win.
65:33So that's going to do it for this podcast.
65:36But there's many more to follow coming up on Tuesday's show.
65:40Brandon Funston from The Athletic is going to join.
65:43And Brandon and I are going to count down swing players for 2026.
65:47These are players who may swing your league one way or another.
65:51That one should be pretty fun as well. Until then, thanks again so much for listening.
65:57Your hat is awesome. You're awesome for wearing it.
66:00I will talk to you tomorrow. Harris Fantasy Football Podcast's opening theme is Under the Gun by Apex Manor.
66:06The closing theme is Say Yes by The Wellspring.
