0:00Welcome to the Legendary Upside podcast YouTube channel. My name is Pat Crane.
0:05You can follow all my content at legendary upside.com. With me today, Rich Rebar for our angles and upside podcast. Reeves, how's it going?
0:13>> What's going on, brother? We are almost one full month in the books here. Uh >> I know it's the the quarter quarter
0:20marker for the season, which is always kind of kind of crazy. although it's not quite cuz you know they keep making the
0:25season longer. But um we've uh yeah, we're going to be diving into the main slate. Um we got 11 games here this
0:35week. A little lighter because there's a Dublin game and two Monday Night Football games. Um a little housekeeping before we get going. Next week, uh we
0:43won't have a pod. I'm going to be uh going away on Friday, so uh won't be around. Um, and so yeah, we'll be back
0:52here for week six, uh, after after a little oneweek break. But yeah, let's go ahead and dive into it. Um, let's kick
1:01things off with the Chargers at Giants.
1:04This was the uh the cover boy for me on the walkthrough um where I break all these games down. You can also check out
1:11Rich's worksheet where he breaks all the games down. Uh, highly recommend that.
1:15The uh the Chargers are a pretty big favorites here on the road and they're facing a Giants run defense defense that
1:24ranks dead last in rushing DVOA. They're 30th in EPA, 30th in success rate. So, I wrote this up as a a bullish spot for
1:32Amarian Hampton as he faces a Giants team that not only can't stop the run, but has a rookie quarterback. Um, and so
1:40most likely we're looking at positive game script for the Chargers. We've heard a lot about the Chargers being really tilted to the past this year.
1:48They have been from a pass rate over expected standpoint. Uh and even last week they did have a a positive 2% proe
1:56but they they've had pass rates of 70% 59% and 67%. Those aren't like super high. They're they're definitely tilted to the past, but they are willing to
2:05run. And I think it would make a lot of sense for them to try to get the run game going a bit this week with, you
2:10know, they they've lost Naji Harris and they've been kind of needing to go through the passing game as the engine of the offense, which is working, but
2:19they this is a team that's like got to have Super Bowl aspirations, right?
2:22They're they're trying to win one of the one of the toughest divisions and and go to the Super Bowl. You want to have the
2:28run game going. Um, and this is like a kind of an obvious spot for them to to try to get Hampton going, who's had a
2:35good success rate. He's the type of guy that they probably actually feel comfortable leaning on. We saw them throw to him a bunch last week. It's the
2:42rush yards over expected, the explosiveness that we haven't really seen out of him yet, >> but this is kind of the spot. Maybe we
2:48get the explosiveness on top of really strong usage and decent success rate.
2:53This feels like a just a win-win kind of outcome for Hampton because either they're running heavy from the beginning against a defense that has been
3:01exploitable against the run and he's just downhill you know stacking opportunities or the Chargers get ahead with the pass and then just run run him
3:09afterwards. Uh which you know could definitely play out in either direction but I just feel like it's what no matter what we get to the outcome we're going
3:15to be looking at the box score where the touches are just going to be there for Hampton. And you know, he'll be a guy
3:20that's upwards, you know, 20 plus touches. After Harris, the plays Harris was off the field last week. I mean, Hampton played 92% of those snaps and he
3:28had all 25 backfield touches.
3:31>> Um, I don't know about the passing stuff, like how sticky it'll be. Like I don't know how many Chargers games we're
3:35going to get where the running backs and tight ends like are in the 15 target combined range, but he still had 19
3:42rushing attempts in a game where that was like kind of like neutral and like they were, you know, like they were
3:48still kind of like playing aggressively.
3:50Uh we this could be an opportunity where he still has like he could get like upwards like 25 attempts and like the
3:55possible uh apex outcome of of the like this game playing out fullon. So, this just lines up for him, I think, to no
4:01matter way which way you play it, him to come out with a lot of touches and when you're just going to get that many
4:05touches from a running back that doesn't come off the field because I don't think either of us expect like Hassan Haskins
4:10or Kamani Vidal to like really cut into his workload. So, you're just going to get to throw those touches at the wall.
4:17>> Yeah. And there's kind of like there's been, you know, I think last obviously before last week people were were really
4:23worried about Hampton. Um, I had to like pound the table to start him over ridiculous like, hey, should we start Bashalt Tutin here? Hey, you know,
4:31should we start Trayvon Henderson here?
4:33I'm like, no, we have Hampton, we're starting, right? Like that's that's kind of the level of where things had gotten to on Hampton. And then I, you know, he
4:41he has the really strong fantasy game last week, but like he's also, when you look at his profile from a real life
4:46perspective, I I don't think it's particularly worrying. He's he's got a good success rate. He's been used in the passing game and we just haven't seen
4:54him be explosive yet. That that to me is like kind of a buy low running back profile if if you're going to get work.
5:01Um and he will get work here. So yeah, kind of kind of a I mean he's going to be pretty chalky this week in DFS. Not
5:09like the the uber mega chalk level, but he's you know he he's a pretty obvious play, but also like I maybe lean into it
5:18a little bit. You know, I think this is this is like this is one that people have identified, but I I also think
5:22maybe he should be like uber mega chalk here. So, um or maybe he would be had he shown a little bit more explosiveness,
5:30but but you get the really really nice matchup here where this could be kind of his coming out party. So, I'm very
5:36excited about him. What are your thoughts on the passing game here for the Chargers? The Giants have not been good against the pass. They have a good
5:41defensive line, but they've still not been good against the pass.
5:44No, I mean I've been pretty bullish on just like riding this Quinton Johnson wave because, you know, even in the offseason, he was one of my more popular
5:51baseball guys just because I was like, "Hey, this is a player that was a round one pick, has the the archetypical
5:57profile we look for from a physical side, got better in year two, is attached to a quarterback we believe in.
6:02Like, why why does nobody want this guy?" Uh, and I get it, like the drops and stuff and the val the volatility,
6:07but then he comes out in week one as like that awesome game and I'm like, "Oh, man." Like, all right. So, like
6:12he's definitely still like a big focal point of this offense. Week two, he he has the 60-yard touchdown. And then I'm
6:18like, "All right, week three, this would be kind of a spot for him to slow down."
6:21And he he didn't like destroying the box score, but he was like winning consistently vertically still against Patrick Certan. And it's just like this
6:28is like it's it's here. Like there will be weeks where he has down weeks for sure for fantasy football because that's
6:33just how fantasy football works. But like I I feel pretty bullish on like his his just like this is a guy you just
6:39want to play as like a wide receiver to every week and you just take the the bitter with the sweet because the sweet
6:44looks like it's going to be a lot more of a a regular outcome than I think people were expecting it to be.
6:50>> Yeah, I mean he's he's had a decent amount of double coverage. He's in 65th percentile there. Um but he's he's got a
6:5614.2 ADOT. So definitely, you know, some splash play potential. He's running a little bit hot. His his yards per target is is 10.9, which is
7:05>> going to come down a little bit. He's averaging 2.7 fantasy points over expected per game, which is 91st percentile. So, he's definitely
7:12>> running hot, but the dude's averaging 18.6 PPR points per game. So, like, yeah, of course, he's running a little hot. He's been awesome. So,
7:19>> and he's had all that red zone equity that goes back to last year. Uh he he I mean, he had more red zone and endzone
7:25targets than LA last year, and that's kind of rolled over this year. That's in the one bugaboo for Lad who is I would
7:32argue he's in a really good spot this week to kind of rebound. It's just the only thing I think we have to worry
7:37about is just the touchdown performance, you know, kind of moving forward because we saw him last year he was 44th in like
7:42a red zone usage.
7:44>> And so far this season, you know, Allen and Johnston both have five red zone targets. Makanki has one. Herbert's thrown 11 passes into the end zone. None
7:53to Maki so far.
7:54>> Uh, you know, we have a few receivers like that that are weird, right? that like outside of the red zone they're
7:59like a really focal point of the offense and then when they get in the red zone for some reason like the play designs
8:03aren't for them. Obviously Puka is the largest one, right? Uh like over his career like Puka Puka has no endzone targets either this year. He has like a
8:1145% target share outside of the red zone >> which is hilarious. And then Z Flowers is the other guy, right? Like he has
8:17like this immense target share outside the red zone. Whenever the Ravens get in the red zone, they're like what if we
8:22threw it to Tylen Wallace here? Like like you know it's just stuff. I do think this is a good flop lag spot for
8:28Lad. I think Keenan's running a little pure like because Keenan like the box scores aren't very flattering. Like there's definitely some touchdown
8:35deodorant for Keenan a little bit. Um where I think that we could see some of these lines because like the from a pure
8:41just box score stance, Lad and Keenan like yardage wise hasn't been different weeks one through three. It's just the touchdowns have gone to Keenan.
8:49>> Although I would say so Keenan's only at 79% route participation. So his his like route stuff has been quite a bit
8:56stronger than Lads. 1.96 yards per hour to 1.37 >> um 27% targets per hour to 18%. So yeah, Lads I mean but it's not bearish that
9:06Lad's out there a lot. You know, he's he's actually playing um you know all the snaps and he lad does play in the
9:13slot still. He's 85th percentile in the slot. He just stays on the field when he's not in the slot. So that's it could
9:19be worse for Lad. I agree with you. I don't know that lad's like Davis mentioned him on on our pod as someone
9:24that he was pretty interested in DFS.
9:26I'm not sure like I I mean it makes sense like that you know people aren't going to be excited to play him but I
9:33kind of viewing him more as like you know if you have him in reddraft like I'm I'm keeping the faith I'm still
9:40starting him. are your what are your thoughts on on him as a DFS play because he's he you know he's 6500 on draft game
9:47>> that's the rub right is >> the rub is the cost and what he has to achieve at that cost like I mean he has
9:55to basically approach like 25 plus PPR points um which is uh probably a tougher ask in this game potential implied game
10:03environment right even with the Chargers being pass heavy uh probably a lot to ask and that's just the one kind of
10:11roadblock I have because it's another slate that's just littered with good wide receiver plays again. Um, so that's the one rub I have is I just keep kind
10:18of saying like is he gonna make my pull?
10:20He's hanging around the outskirts right now.
10:22>> So, but I think the problem is the price point and then just saying like what's the path for this game environment to
10:27get him to like pushing 25 PPR points.
10:32Yeah, Johnston's my favorite of the Chargers pieces here because when I think about what this game environment could be. I mean, it's it's kind of hard
10:40for me to see the Giants like really pushing the Chargers here. I mean, you know, maybe Dart comes in and is awesome
10:48and this game's like way more fun than you would expect, but I think generally like the Giant on the Giants side of
10:56this, so they're going against a Chargers defense that's been really really good in coverage and good against the pass overall. They're they're number
11:03one in in drop back success rate. The teams have had the worst success rate against them. So, >> um, and they're they're pretty good
11:09across the board driven by really strong coverage. Um Dayball's like job this week is to make is to not let Jackson
11:17Dart like get exposed and look bad, right?
11:19>> So I don't know like are they gonna if they're down 10 in entering the fourth quarter like how much urgency are they
11:26going to be playing with? Are they going to be like hey let's like score a touchdown even if it takes us 10 minutes
11:31you know like are they like you know what I mean? Like all that stuff where you're like what's your goal? Is your
11:35goal to win this game or is your goal to have Jackson Dart look cool? And I think it's probably the latter. So, um,
11:43Johnston being able to get there quickly, you know, uh, maybe not counting on a ton of volume, he he's more intriguing to me there. On the
11:51Giant side, I think Malik Neighbors is is interesting as someone. It's like if you're a dart, if you're a day ball,
11:57like you got to get Neighbors back on track. That's that's a really really important part of what they're doing.
12:03Um, so I think he's I mean, even with the the quarterback benching and everything, like he's at 2.0 02 yards per out run. So, he's been pretty good.
12:11Um, obviously last week not uh very productive.
12:14>> His bags took him out of the game.
12:16>> Yeah. But I think he could be he's kind of intriguing. Um like he I I'm kind of more intrigued by him than Lad as as
12:23like a a weird DFS pivot. Uh I mean he'll have some ownership I guess that he won't be completely forgotten about.
12:32But um and then >> he's not super popular.
12:35>> He won't be super popular. Yeah.
12:36Scatteraboo is the other guy, the other piece that people are gonna >> He'll be popular because of the cost >> for sure. What are your thoughts on him?
12:44>> Yeah, it's uh I mean I love Cam Scaboo, the the player profile. Like when I was doing the prospect stuff, I was like
12:50this is a dude that's gonna like test poorly, like just look bad, but he's like such a tryhard player that when
12:57they build >> as bad like there's like I was like, "Hey man, 47's your line. Your line's four. Get below a 47, dude." And he did.
13:05He did. Yeah. Uh but I was like he's such a tryhard dude like people like in the building like he's gonna like in
13:11practice like he's gonna like earn stuff like he's he's a wild man. Uh oh yeah Deel said on Tuesday he was like on our
13:17show Wednesday night he was like yeah Scatoo definitely eats crayons. Uh I was like yeah I was like yeah man he's just
13:25you know he's just wild. And also anytime Scatteroo does anything I get tweeted because I supposedly look like Cam Scatteraboo's dad. Like they're like
13:34blow Yeah. People blow me up. you googling it and I don't know >> I'm googling it right now.
13:37>> Uh during the Texas game like I just got so flooded with Reeves of Scataboo's dad like uh takes.
13:43>> Oh my god.
13:47Great.
13:48>> Like and so I feel like I kind of root for him. This is my son like my son like an extension of my son out there.
13:55>> So if anyone's Yeah.
13:58>> picture hugging him.
14:00>> Yeah. I just get a hug. Thanks my son Dad. Sky who's dead.
14:05>> Yeah.
14:05>> But this is a guy that like consistently like just kind of gets what's not there for him. He creates yards. He's he's
14:11he's like a bowling ball after contact.
14:14He can catch the ball. The only thing he really sucks at is pass protection. But, you know, that hasn't been a roadblock
14:19for snaps so far early in the season.
14:21And it wasn't against Steve Spagnolo's defense, which you would figure would be a time to get him off the field and
14:26maybe trust a guy like Deon Singleary.
14:28And that didn't happen. The only thing you kind of question mark here versus last week is that, you know, the removal
14:34of Russell Wilson is the, you know, Russell Wilson. I've always comped him to the to James Harden.
14:39>> I pulled up the picture on >> Yeah, my son came. Yeah, I I can't I can't even knock. But like during that
14:46game, dude, I was just getting flooded with tweets like Yeah.
14:51But uh I've always comped uh Wilson to James Harden, right? Because he either shoots a three or takes a layup. Like
14:58there's no like he he checks so he'll check down. Is Dart going to check down?
15:02Are we going to get the the the dump offs to Cam Scaboo? Like because he had eight targets on Sunday night and like
15:07those are floor savers when you're able to just kind of get those uh dump offs.
15:12That's the only question mark I have. I think he's a really solid like volume RB2. I think he offers upside and that
15:17receiving upside. It's just um you know the the dart is like a wild card here.
15:24>> Yeah. And he and he's chalky. So I think that >> Right. that makes it harder. Um it's like I feel much much better.
15:31>> Well, both these guys I think you from a DFS stance if you the either the way to play it is you fade them or the way to
15:38do you could put them both together is a way to play it too because you know not inherently do you see a lot of the
15:46stacking of running backs in a game.
15:48>> You know most gamers don't like to do that. Uh, but if they're both going to be like 20% owned or around that area
15:54and you still kind of want to get exposure to that, the way to kind of beat the field, like one of them is
15:57probably going to be in almost like a third of the lineups that we see, but both of them together like will be a
16:03unique way to do it if you're worried about the chalk part of it.
16:07>> I think you really need the passes to Scataboo then for that for that to pay off.
16:13>> Oh yeah. Oh yeah. I think you need him regardless, but >> you kind of need him regardless. Yeah, that's true. I mean, Dart Dart is a bit
16:20of a scrambler. I mean, he kind of he was like a little bit like coming out comp 20% of his pressures last year.
16:28>> Yeah. He's a little Daniel Jonesy, a little like early career Carson Wy, you know, and he's like he's going to be he
16:34he's willing to take shots downfield.
16:36He's got a decent deep ball. Um he's he's going to scramble. So, yeah, not nec I'm like I don't think this is going
16:43to have like a really high success rate this this week. you know, there's going to be kind of like flashes of potential.
16:50Um, but yeah, the big question is does he does he dump off to Scataboo? Um, which let's hope he does cuz Scaboo's I
16:57mean, he's got a 29% targets per out run.
17:00>> Uh, 1.9 yard in the passing game, man.
17:02That goes back to college, >> so hopefully that doesn't get removed.
17:06Well, I mean, I would assume they're dialing stuff up for him, especially if they're going to your point of like trying to just make Jackson Dart look
17:12cool, like not lose. Um, but that's the reason he had to start though is because they were going to be at home and like
17:18if imagine if you start Russell Wilson again and like the first drive you go three and out like dude that the crowd
17:23is going to be like frothing at the mouth like >> he threw he threw a ball away on fourth down in the end zone tonight like you
17:30can't come back from that man. uh unless you're Gino Smith. But >> I mean, yeah, I think I was talking to
17:36Sacrilegist about this. Not we we didn't record it. We were just we were just talking and uh um it was sort of if you
17:44think about dayball like how many losses he has, you know, like he he probably like six, seven losses in him this year,
17:51but but dart losses are only worth half a loss.
17:54>> So he he like he did kind of the math, I think, where it's like, well, I've got three Wilson losses. I'm already like to
18:00half my losses.
18:02You know, I can get I can spend I can get six losses with the rookie and still maybe keep my job. So, uh yeah, I think
18:10that's probably the biggest thing here.
18:12Um, it I will say as bad as the spot does look objectively on paper for Dart, we were in a very similar spot uh last
18:20year with Drake May making his first start against the Texans who were a very good defense and everyone was worried about the pressure that game cuz you
18:27know and they got blown out, but Drake May still had 20 fantasy points. So like like I I mean he and I've always kind of
18:34had say like Dart has like that that Mayish kind of qualities about him as like a fantasy quarterback. And instead of May rookie year May, he has Malik
18:42Neighbors. So like there still could like the I could see the Giants like losing this game handily and somehow Dart still like being okay, especially
18:51at like near min pricing.
18:53>> Yeah, 4500 on draft game. Yeah, he actually does kind of pop as a an interesting play. Um and honestly, he
19:00might be like a because we also have Mariota this week, so I'm not sure that Dart's going to be even that popular.
19:06He might be a pivot off of Scataboo where you're betting on him to scramble a bunch and maybe not. Yeah, >> you could play I think you can play him
19:14by himself even like Mariota last week like >> for sure.
19:18>> Yeah. No, >> just because he's so cheap >> and there's a lot of like good expensive chalk on this slate. Um
19:24>> which we'll which we'll get to. So yeah, I mean he he you accomplished something by by saving that salary at quarterback
19:32>> in this game being early like the way people play some of the pieces in this game because the like the alle cart
19:36pieces are going to there are popular pieces like we talk about both running backs. Uh so we it's another like overloaded late slate this week. So the
19:46early the way the things go early are always going to impact again what happened late. you know, uh, last week ended up really good with like the AJ
19:54Brown and Nico Collins stuff and I was able to play around some stuff, uh, last week in the late late stuff. So, there
20:00are some ways to play this game like you're unique that can open up some things you want to do chalky wise uh, in
20:04these late games.
20:06>> That's a great point. Uh, Panthers at Patriots. I I'll kind of kick things off here on the Patriots side. I'm excited
20:13for for Drake May in this game. He's been uh, very consistent, really strong success rate uh, in the last two games.
20:21um not so great in week one, but if you look at his seasonl long numbers, he's he's looking like like there's it's a
20:27weird thing right now. I look at EPA per game and success rate and you kind of have like three tiers. You have the like
20:32this can't possibly sustain tier which Daniel Jones is leading and you have like the these guys are actually really good tier with Josh Allen, Lamar
20:39Jackson, Jared Goff and then Drake May is kind of in in tier three a little bit ahead of like Baker Mayfield and success
20:45rate very similar in EPA. Um, so it's been a strong start to the season. The issue for fantasy is that uh you can
20:53really only stack him with Hunter Henry, but um just in terms of like May's outlook, he gets a Panthers pass rush
21:02that has been super weak. I mean, they're dead last in pressure.
21:06>> 29th in quick pressure rate. Pass rush win rate. They're 28th. They're 30th in PFF's pass rush grades. Like there's nothing popping here. They don't even
21:13really blitz that much. Like >> they have a 1% sack rate.
21:19Yeah. So, like May's May's pass protection is still like in the numbers, they look okay. I think um they're they're not they're not great. Uh and
21:28they might be without Jared Wilson, their center this week. He he's missed he's had two DMPS. I didn't see if he
21:34practiced yet today, but um their offensive line like remains a pretty big concern. you you want to be targeting them in matchups where uh or at least
21:44May in matchups where they have weak pass rushes against them because that that's going to be a huge part of you
21:49know how they look week to week. So this is a really good spot for him. Panthers aren't great in in coverage either. Uh
21:55obviously you know they they were good last week against Penn but I think I think this could be a spot where they
22:00take kind of a big step back and and May's >> M's quite good. I mean last week like the Patriots should have been much more
22:06productive. He had a end zone interception. They had the end zone fumble uh that Stevenson coughed up.
22:13From reddraft perspective, I do think we see Trevian Henderson get a bigger role.
22:18I I've noted though he has a a 17% success rate.
22:23>> Yeah.
22:23>> This year last in uh rushing yards like uh over expectation per carry. I think he's the lowest rate.
22:31>> I think there's one more guy. I think he's running back 47. Um, and he's running he's running back 48 in success
22:37rate. So, there's definitely I know from his own terribleness that there must be at least 48 guys here. But, uh, yeah,
22:45he's he's really really struggled as a runner. And success rate is one of those things where like the running backs um
22:54it's it's a real problem because I think it affects like your playing time and the coaches being willing to trust you.
23:00Uh, and so that's, you know, it's like trust is what would get him on the field here because the other guys, Gibson,
23:06>> bubble hunt stat, right? Like it's the guys that keep the pick up the yards they're supposed to get. Like it's the
23:12Yeah, like it's not necessarily a fantasy stat where people get agitated, but it is like a real life impactful stat.
23:17>> It is a fantasy stat, but people don't think about it as much. But yeah, Kareem Bunts, running back two with a 59%
23:23success. Like that is why he plays.
23:25>> Um, so yeah, I think >> I don't I don't know. I mean, I guess from from a reddraft perspective, I I'm
23:32kind of taking my shots with Henderson.
23:34But it is I wouldn't be like rushing to get him in lineups necessarily. It's just like if you're if you're thinking
23:41like, hey, I kind of I considered starting him last week cuz cuz I'm weak at running back and you know, now should
23:47I start him this week? Like, yeah, I think you you probably should. But it's it wouldn't shock me honestly if like by
23:53the third quarter Stevenson's playing a bunch.
23:56>> Yeah, it's kind of a wild card. Uh, I'll probably take some shots just because if if it happens, it'll be too late to go
24:02back like because this will be like at home a five point. I think it's the this is the most uh uh the highest point
24:10total or the the largest point spread the Patriots have had as a favorite since Tom Brady. So like um >> that's crazy.
24:18>> Yeah. And it to it took a lot to get out, but uh um they're facing a team that is not good against the run. Like
24:25so it's like all right I do want to mix him in just in case cuz like Rabel's doing the but what like Rael has no
24:31incentive to come out and tell us like it's going to be his backfield cuz today he had to quote like no business as
24:36usual like but like why would he why would he tell us the truth like why would he tell Panthers the truth like
24:42ahead of time like there's no advantage for him saying anything. So Justin >> Mike also had the he was repping as the
24:48RB3 on Wednesday.
24:50>> There's some things are percolating a little bit.
24:53>> Yeah. So I I just want to I want to mix them in like I'm not aggressively but I do just want to be a little bit over on
24:58him just in case like it is like a 60% backfield touch game for him because if it happens you can't go like you can't
25:05go back next week too like I just want to I just want to mix him in just in case like just in case it's like one of
25:10those uh one of those opportunities. I also think too like where his success rate is right now is not indicative of
25:16like the player I still believe he is.
25:18So like you know early career not getting a lot of touches either like you know >> he's got a low success rate not getting
25:25a lot of opportunities. It's like what if we give him like an actual run? If you if we give him actual run what does
25:31it look like? Maybe they just want to explore that while they're a home favorite and they feel like they could potentially control this game. Obviously
25:37Antonio Gibson still remains a wild card though. Like >> he still like has played enough to where you don't need just it's not just the
25:43Henderson fumbles. Dude, I remember so he fumbled. Henderson fumbled the opening drive.
25:48>> Watching a game of my son and I'm like, "Oh, >> Stevenson, I'm sorry. Stevenson fumbled." And I'm watching then I'm
25:55like, "Oh, they benched Henderson last week for the holding penalties. Let's see how they handle this with uh Stevenson." And the very first play of
26:02the next drive, Antonio Gibson comes in.
26:03I was like, "God damn."
26:04>> Yeah. Like ah like you know. And but then you know Gibson fumbles too in the second half and then the whole fourth quarter was
26:13all Henderson. Uh too little too late obviously but like I said I'm gonna mix them in just in case but it's there's no
26:20clear read on the situation. I think we can't operate under the capacity that it's just be given to him too. It still
26:26there could be high jinks here.
26:28>> This also like he's 5200 on DraftKings.
26:31I play more kind of smaller field stuff.
26:33I don't know. They're medium anyway and I I don't know. I'm not sure if I'm actually it's it's more of kind of a
26:39reddraft play or I don't know I I haven't done any dog bowls this year, but like maybe kind of a scroll down
26:45guy. Uh I have no idea what his ADP is or if that is a good take or not, but but like kind of like, you know, kind of
26:51a dart >> um type of type of dude. I do think he's in play. At 5200 though on DraftKings, I I doubt I end up playing him. Um we'll
27:00see. He's definitely intriguing. Uh on the other side of the game, I could see Ted McMillan has been awesome. Uh I
27:08think he's I'm definitely like a little bit higher on him than um I think Consensus this week. He's, you know, in
27:14a spot where like the Panthers have been really pass heavy at times. Last week, obviously, they just had a 52% pass rate
27:22because they they shut out the Falcons.
27:25>> They didn't have to throw, >> but they had an 80% pass rate the week before against the Cardinals. And that's
27:31honestly when Bryce Young has been most efficient. Um he he had a 75% success rate in week two, 55%
27:3955 55th percentile in EPA per play. Felt a 43rd percentile last week. So his best when he's looked the best in terms of
27:49efficiencies, it's actually been when they just like had to chuck it constantly. The Patriots aren't good against the pass. Um Christian Gonzalez
27:57has been limited again this week. He's been kind of I don't know when he's coming back because he keeps kind of
28:01doing this limited thing and then he doesn't play. So I don't know if they'll have him or not. They have an okay pass
28:05rush but in coverage they've been they've been brutal. And McMillan's been really good. So he's another guy where the salary and some of the other
28:14opportunity cost in DFS doesn't really make him like a super strong play. Is also going to catch maybe >> he's he's a lot cheaper on FanDuel this
28:22week.
28:22>> Okay. That that's interesting.
28:24>> He's 5,800 on FanDuel.
28:26>> I I would Yeah. finding ways to to be like a little bit overweight on him this week are are interesting to me because
28:33uh he's he's just been really good. Um 24% targets per out run, 20% first target rate, which is which is like
28:40really strong and and elite for a rookie who's played three games. Um and and like he's running so he's averaging minus 4.6 fantasy points over expected
28:50per game, which is seventh percentile.
28:52So the value of his role is quite a bit larger than we've gotten in terms of fantasy scoring so far. Big positive
28:58aggression candidate that that way. So I do like him. I don't know how much of him I'll ultimately have in DFS, but a
29:05week where I think he could he could break out in a in a pretty big way.
29:09>> Yeah, it's interesting. I'd love to see him worked more into the base offense.
29:13He still has like some kind of like red I think at 5,800 on FanDuel is where he looks the most appealing. I like it. Um,
29:19but he's he's the w he's wide receiver 45 and target share on early downs. He's only been targeted on 16.7% of team
29:25targets on early downs and then on third downs it's a 45% target share which is wide receiver four. So we're not getting
29:30a lot of diverse usage which kind of marages where like Bryce Young's problems are. So McMillan's played 86% of his snaps out wide. Well, Bryce Young
29:39has thrown 52% of his passes between the numbers. Uh he's like actually the one small king guy that actually throws over
29:45the middle of the field. Uh it's the sixth highest rate in the NFL. He's only thrown outside the numbers. He's 31st in
29:50throw throw rate outside of the numbers.
29:51So currently >> the trick is to be short and have a weak arm.
29:56>> Then you compare the field.
29:58>> Yeah. Uh so currently the plan for McMillan through these first three weeks is really only to get him the ball in
30:03like kind of these one-on-one situations. Like there's we're not getting a lot of nuance with him because if you look at him, he has a he's been
30:10targeted on 50% of his routes against man coverage.
30:13>> Wow. Uh, and then 21% against zone coverage. And all that like lines up to where I said, uh, a fun little factoid
30:21to this game is that they he actually did play against Christian Gonzalez in college when he was a true freshman at
30:26Arizona. He actually had 48 yards and a touchdown in the game against them when Gonzalez was at Oregon. So maybe you get
30:32a little one-on-one. But if Gonzalez comes back, because the Patriots are heavy man defense anyways. If Gonzalez comes back, it probably only pushes them
30:39to play more man coverage. and in like at his salary and if you're playing him as a wide receiver too like
30:46>> in these matchups cuz like a lot of times when before like wide receiver cornerback matchups like got off the rails like during that period like we
30:53became like all the the craze and then got off the rails >> you still only need to win a couple reps
30:58as a receiver like you know we're taking a sample size of like say average of 30 to 35 routes anyways and then in true
31:05man-to-man coverage like the best teams that that play man coverage at the highest rates are well below they're around 40%. So, we're taking like this
31:1335 route sample and we're already cutting it down to like 16 routes where maybe he lines up against this one individual player and like you still
31:20only have to win and if you only win say three of the those 15 routes like where you don't even have the win rate like
31:26that still matters for fantasy football and it's like one of those things that like took a while for like people to
31:30like realize like when before it got overweighted in like individual matchups. It's like just because he's this guy lines up against this guy
31:37doesn't mean he plays every single snap against this guy in a game. And then when you're a wide receiver, the way
31:42scoring works for fantasy football is if you win one to two of your reps, like that's still sign that can still be
31:48significant outcome and impacting your fantasy line.
31:52>> Yeah. And you also have the larger thing of like the Patriots secondary has absolutely sucked this year. So there's not it's not like Chris Christian
32:01Gonzalez coming back >> won't necessarily and first of all I don't even know if he's gonna play but even if he does it's not like 100%
32:09matched up with with T-Mac so >> yeah I had to I did this last year I always track like how defense is
32:16performing against opposing wide receiver ones and the Patriots last year as good as like because Christian Gonzalez has all these amazing metrics
32:22last year like yards per target allowed and like target and stuff but like they were like in like a bottom five like
32:28consistently against like wide receiver ones because of the thing like I said like you know you >> and it's a weakling system like
32:34>> it's a weakling system so you have one strong corner and the rest of the secondary is brutal.
32:38>> There are no more Derell revases like where a dude just like lines up and it's like hey we're going to run the rest of
32:44our defense but every single play like you're on Randy Moss like like that doesn't happen anymore like you just don't see that stuff anymore. That's not
32:50the way the meta the defensive meta is played right now.
32:54>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, he'll he'll be fine, I think, either way. It's more about the game script. It's you want the
33:00Patriots to live up to their end of the bargain here and put up points because then the thing with the Panthers is that
33:09they don't like want to be who they are.
33:12You know, a little bit of an identity crisis here.
33:14>> They definitely don't want to be who they are.
33:16>> They definitely don't want to be who they are. They they're like they they want to be who they were last week, you
33:24know, which obviously, you know, you're shutting a team out, you're winning 30 to nothing, of course, but like they they want to be able to run the ball and
33:30not have to lean on Bryce Young that much. But I think who they really like who we want them to be is who they were
33:36against the Cardinals where they're just like kind of just like, you know, let's throw all the receivers out there. we're going to throw every time and we're just
33:44going to let Bryce Young do his thing and and have an 80% pass rate. That's how I actually think Bryce Young is at
33:50at his best. And you you have a secondary here where he can he can probably cook against them on high volume. Um but we need the Patriots to
34:00push them to that version. They're not going to come out, you know, the scripted plays are are not going to be,
34:06you know, spreading the Patriots out and just attacking constantly through the air.
34:10>> Yeah. And then it's just Yeah. Uh it feels like chasing the points, but everything lines up for Hunter Henry again. It is what it is.
34:18>> No, I I I agree. Hunter Henry uh his >> the two guys last week that popped Hunter Henry and Trey Tucker. It's like
34:25you feel so bad because it feels like Chasey Points. You're like, "Damn it, everything objectively makes sense again."
34:30>> It does. Yeah. Yeah. We'll get to the that that game is pretty fun. Um and we'll have some ownership, but uh it's
34:37still pretty fun.
34:38>> The uh the Henry stuff. Yeah. He's 20 21% targets per outr run. Uh 1.72 yards per out run. His stuff is like pretty
34:46sustainable. You know, the touchdowns are kind of like boosting him a bit, but his um his his like yardage profile is
34:54like Yeah, that's good.
34:57>> And they just use him consistently since Drake May's been there. Like he is the red zone dude. Like >> yeah,
35:03>> he is. And then and the Patriots are just rotating as receivers now. This is two weeks in a row that you know the
35:08ghost of M. Collins has weasled his way into this rotation.
35:13>> Well, because the ghost of Stefon Diggs is at 50% round participation. That's that's what's going on. I mean, and Diggs, dude, like hit so he's he was 70%
35:21round participation, then dropped to 58 55 the last two weeks. His ADOT has dropped from 8.1 to 6.8 to four. Uh he's
35:30been in the slot now a bunch. He's like uh he's he's Pop Douglas. They turned him into Pop Douglas. He's got a 45%
35:37slot rate, 68th percentile. Like he's And then Pop Douglas isn't playing. He He's at 35 and 47% rap participation the last two weeks. M. Holland is is running
35:46about half the routes. The whole thing's like really gross. I There's no receiver. I mean, Booty would be the guy that I don't know.
35:55>> Drake May the past two weeks is 33rd in area yards per pass attempt. Like they they kind of really need Kyle Williams
36:02to get on the field.
36:03>> They do, man.
36:04>> If Kyle Williams was like 65% participation. I'd be touting him here because they they're going to be able to pass deep, I think, in this this
36:12matchup. Like with the pass rush as weak as it is, I think you can attack downfield. May's deep th May's deep pass
36:18rate has been >> super low, but we know he's a willing deep thrower.
36:22>> Yeah, Booty is the only guy that can go downfield right now.
36:26>> Only guy other than maybe Kyle Williams, but he's not. He's at like 17%. Yeah, he doesn't play. So yeah, I'm not doing
36:33booty in in DFS, but uh >> no, none of the guy none of those guys play enough.
36:39>> Uh yeah, no one plays enough. He He's playing He's like in the 70s. He He's like >> Yeah, >> he's the best we got. He's the best we
36:45got, but still not doing it.
36:46>> Um uh All right, let's move on to the next game here. Saints at Bills implied team to at one point I was actually I was
36:55annoyed with the betting market because I had this great line in the walkthrough where the the Bills were favored by more
37:02points >> than the Saints were projected to score.
37:06This is unbelievable and then it changed a it's like now like a half point off.
37:10So I I kept it in but is a much worse version of Yeah. It's a little It's a shame. I should have just I should have
37:16lied. I should have just like pretended to find a slightly different line um to to keep it in there. But the uh the
37:24Bills side, I mean, they're they're set up to score literally like 31.75 is the implied point total. It's it's bananas.
37:33It's kind of one of those things of like who scores before they they they pull starters is is really like kind of how
37:39lopsided this looks. James Cook is is kind of a smash here, I think. um that that's not going to surprise anybody,
37:47but they're another team that's really spread out in the passing game. Josh Palmer's rout participation is has really declined. So, it's it really is
37:54Keon Coleman and Khil Shakir is the two full-time guys, but both of them are like kind of more like in the 80 to 85%
38:01route participation range. They're not out there constantly. Dalton Concaid has been drawing a lot of targets when on the field, but he has peaked at just 63%
38:08route participation. Um they're doing a lot of two tight end stuff, but it doesn't always involve Concaid. So, uh, yeah, it's it's kind of like Cook and
38:18Allen really pop, but what else can we do here?
38:22>> Yeah, I mean, that's obviously you have the when you have the 30-point total, and this is the the story with the Bills
38:26always for DFS is it's typically just Josh Allen and James Cook. It's harder to find stacking partners because the guys don't play a lot. Um, and we have
38:35to figure too like this might be a spot like we saw this in week two when they just beat the hell out of the Jets. like
38:39you know Allen they they just call off the dogs like Joe Brady when he's up he's a he's a run first mentality guy
38:44anyways >> so they do uh I pulled it this is the 12th time that Josh Allen's been a favorite of 14 or more points the
38:51previous 11 times he still has averaged 20 fantasy points per game but he's been a top six scorer in just two of those 11
38:58games because like you know you need that push back right like you like he's been >> you want the Rams from last year where
39:04they're down and then they come roaring back or the Ravens this year >> well Josh Allen is always like the best
39:09big game quarterback because they will play the whole thing through Josh Allen.
39:13Like that's why he's always great in these in the big game spots like you know you can confidently count on him to
39:18like maybe score 35 like sometimes even 40 fantasy points because like they build the whole playing out of Josh Allen when they have to. It's when they
39:25don't you start to see them play like from a run first mentality and like I said your reddraft stuff and you're uh
39:31like that's fine. Like getting to 20 fantasy points is really good. It's a good matchup. Obviously the Saints don't get a pass rush. their 29th in passing
39:38points allowed per attempt. It's just how much are you pushed for like that 30 point game and at his price point
39:43especially because this is our first slate all season where all the big quarterbacks minus Jaden Daniels are available but like Lamar and Jayen Herz
39:50are on the slate too. We haven't had that yet this season. Um so for them but yeah uh it's really just those two guys.
39:57James Cooks. I know people like to take shots at us like the the the fantasy analysts about the touchdown aggression stuff, but the real story about James
40:05Cook and the one thing I do kind of kick myself about is guy that got paid got larger workload and and it's like you
40:14know that's where I like I never like once never even just kind of flippantly passed me. It's like well if this dude's
40:19going to get the bag like wouldn't they just use him more? He has 18 22 and 22 touches to open the season. Last year he
40:25cleared 15 touches in just three three games. His snap share is up 15% from a year ago. He's been on the field for
40:32over 50% of the drop backs in two or three games. He did that four times all of last year. From just an expected
40:37point stance, he's RB7. Last year he was RB27. It was it was the marriage of the touchdowns plus his usage that kind of
40:43was throwing people off of like the regression, but it's like, oh, what if he's just on the field more and getting
40:48more touches? That's what's happened.
40:50And it's made him That's what's been the elevator.
40:54Yeah, 100%. I mean, he's he got 70% of the team attempts last year, last week.
40:59Um, which is really good. He he was only at 42 and 49 through the first two weeks. So, I think we got to still be
41:06smug a little bit in the first couple games. It's like, yeah, but you know, he's not really playing. And then they're like, oh, what if we gave him
41:1267% snapshare and 70% of the carries?
41:15How How do you feel now? It's like, oh, I I'm screwed, I think, is how I feel.
41:20So yeah, I mean he's he's if this is the usage this week, he's he's going to crush and he could crush in in three
41:27quarters, you know, he could he could score two or three touchdowns and >> Yeah, it for real. Like that that's >> that's how it's set up. Um
41:36>> so yeah, I I don't think he's another one of these guys that's going to be uh pretty chalky, but maybe not like the
41:43mega mega chalk because um you know, you gota play a lot of this stuff.
41:50Gamers always talk themselves out of this like Bills are going to win by a bunch, but like the Bills are still
41:54going to score 30 points. Like someone has to score touchdowns.
41:58>> And you're right about Joe Brady. Like he he wants to, you know, build this through through the run game of of you
42:04know, definitely more than uh than Ken Dorsey did when he was uh calling plays here. So um yeah, Cook is just set up
42:13for Cook has like such a high floor here, but also I think has a high ceiling. Yeah, I think he's probably
42:18gonna when we get to Sunday and you guys check out your stuff or Saturday night, whenever you guys build lineups and
42:22whatever you you use, I think he probably is going to come in low because Hampton he's in between like obviously people are going to keep playing
42:30McCaffrey like just by given just the amount of absurd usage he's getting in receiving. Yeah.
42:36>> Targets last week, right? And then he's and then Hampton is like priced below Cook and then you got Scatabo is like a
42:42cheap point for we're going to get to the late games right now like Ashen Ji is drawing like an immense amount of
42:48popularity. Uh like so I think there's a chance we could get to the weekend and when you're building lineups and you're
42:55going through kind of where you use your your information from that Cook actually for this spot ends up being a little bit
43:00underowned.
43:03It does seem like one of those in retrospect when we had two different punt quarterback options that were highly volat highly viable like we
43:13couldn't just play Cook and McAffrey. We couldn't find ways to just play Cook with >> That's the other way to play. We talked
43:19about the first game. The other way to play through it is what if we just paid for these good running backs.
43:23>> Right. Right. I think I mean they both Yeah. I definitely do not want to be underweight James Cook. I want to be
43:32overweight James Cook if he's not going to be big big chalk here. Um which seems like maybe he won't be to your point. So
43:38>> J is the wild card when we get because like we'll have to have a conversation about that when we get there. So like
43:42right now the projected ownership I'm seeing for him like is blowing my mind.
43:46>> I I've seen I mean Davis Mad was kind of touting him a bit. Um people I think there there's sort of camps forming of
43:52the like get the get the [ __ ] out of here like we're not playing Ji. I mean, I I think there's a pro case to make for
43:57him. There's a pro case to make for JT.
43:59We But like I don't want to be I don't want to play him when he's going to be if he's going to be 20% owned and 20
44:0525%.
44:06>> Me neither. Me neither.
44:07>> Like I would want to do it when it's like he's like 8%.
44:10>> DFS is so weird now where it's like struggling running back behind a terrible offensive line and then you get to like oh this I've got this matchup is
44:18kind of interesting. It's like great chalk.
44:21>> Oh really? Well, I mean, because he is in that he's he's cheaper, but there are so many receivers we're going to talk
44:25about through the context of the slate that I think are like I think it's better to take on one of these cheap
44:30receivers than to necessarily like just take it a a pay down at running back this week.
44:35>> Yeah. Yeah, I agree. Uh Saint, the the uh the Chimera stuff has been uh kind of concerning. He's he's at a Chimera has a
44:469% target share this year, which is not what we signed up for. Um he was back down. He he was 5% week one, 18% week
44:54two. Okay, he'll be fine. 5% again last week. It's not that he's not playing 74% snaps last week. Uh for the season he's
45:02at 79% which is running back six. That's al that's just like really high like over the course of the of the year. That
45:08that would be you know probably like rivaling for running back one. So and he's he's 63% of the attempts which is
45:15running back nine. Uh 73% ro participation which is running back five. So, it it's all fine. It's just they're not like consistently involving
45:22him as a receiver. Uh they're they're involving Chris Olive very heavily and Jawan Johnson is just consistently getting used. Johnson's probably my my
45:33favorite guy here. Uh where like his expected points per game are 16.2.
45:40>> Yeah.
45:40>> Which is which is crazy. He's running he's running cold. Like his his role is even better than than he's been
45:46producing. has been producing as a tight end one and they're I mean they're going to have to throw here like they they
45:52have to throw. The Saints have been trying to like move away from being super pass heavy the last couple weeks.
45:57They they had a minus 3% pass rate over expected last week, minus 8% in week two, but they're not like extremely
46:04fighting game script. They're still ending up pretty comfortably over 60% pass rates. They were at 71% in week one. And weirdly, and I maybe not that
46:12weirdly because Kellen Moore talked about this in the in the summer about how they wanted to play fast, but they're they're at a 25 seconds uh in
46:21situation neutral script. Uh 25 seconds per play. That's the fastest pace of any team in the league by like about 3
46:28seconds. They're they're like much quicker than the average team. So >> you could have them like playing fast and forced to throw and so you're just
46:38like where's volume going to condense here? Uh the answer might be Jawan Johnson. Obviously, Chris Olive and Chimera has the potential to kind of be
46:46involved in that again, but uh yeah, Johnson jumps out as the piece that that I think is most interesting in this
46:52game, especially from a DFS perspective.
46:54>> Not in this game, this on this team.
46:56>> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he's run over 30 pass routes in every game. Like he leads the position in pass routes run. Uh and
47:03it's not just he's run a lot of pass routes. Like his targets per route run have been over 24% every game. like
47:08right at 24% every game. So like you're getting the marriage of like high volume also paired with like high volume in
47:14terms of opportunity >> um in terms of just drop backs. Yeah.
47:18Just we would love some big plays in this offense. I don't know if we'll get them. They're number one. They've run
47:22the most plays in the NFL and they've only have they only have four plays of 20 or more yards. It's it's really
47:27rough. Like it's just they're literally living on like these guys are living on the volume. Like uh what is a lot like a
47:33lobby has double digit targets in every game and hasn't hit 60 yards yet. Like I think we called him Jacobe Myers last
47:39week and I've lo but uh yeah that's >> I don't think we owe him an apology.
47:45>> Fair enough.
47:46>> That's just a good comp.
47:49>> Can you per run and then we'll apologize.
47:52>> You've been on it the whole time with uh Kamar. It's the it's the first read stuff's not there there for him. He he
47:58had some checkdowns in week two but he's getting no first read opportunities.
48:01Like nothing's designed for him. So he if he does catch passes, it's going to be a situation where it's like these
48:06dump offs where you're coming off of your first read.
48:10>> Yeah. I I will say stuff, I mean, he he is running back or sorry, he is wide receiver one in expected points per game
48:18and then he has minus 8.1 fantasy points over expected per game. 8.1 points that he's leaving on the field per game.
48:26>> So he's going to be somewhat popular this week and I totally get it. Uh, you know, I think he's he's a totally fine
48:33play. I I kind of like Johnson better just because he's gonna be he's because one because he's cheaper and I'm just
48:39like >> tight end.
48:40>> He plays tight end. He's cheaper, right?
48:43And like less people probably going to be on him and and my play is like bad team racks up meaningless volume. So,
48:51I'd like to I'd like to spend as little as possible on that. Um, but Olave, I do think is is a totally fine play here,
48:56too.
48:56>> Yeah.
48:58>> Uh, all right. Moving to the Browns at Lions. Um, why don't you kick this one off and what jumps out to you here?
49:09>> Yeah, this is uh very intriguing for me, especially the way to play through the slate, too. I mean, we still have the
49:14Lions at home with a team total just under 27 points. Uh, I have no faith that the Lions are going to line up and
49:22run the football down the Cleveland Browns throat in the capacity they did on Monday night with Matabuk and Kyle Venoy off the field. Uh the Browns are a
49:30team within context. You know, obviously they're allowing negative yards before contact on running back runs. And yeah, they had the Chase Brown in week one and
49:38we've seen like they haven't been able to throw the ball, but like Derrick Henry week two, Josh Jacobs week three.
49:43This is like they it's they haven't gotten cheapies either and like they've been absolutely dominant. So, if they're going to be a little bit of more of a
49:50pass funnel this year and if they're going to continue to play aggressive defense and we believe these this Lions implied team total is right, where do we
49:58get points from the Lions? And it's got to come through this pass game. And that's where things get really interesting here because the Browns
50:05defense is getting so much respect and they almost are getting like a cache involved with them like you avoid them.
50:10But we were just two weeks removed from them giving up 41 points on the road in Baltimore and four passing touchdowns in
50:15that game. And then people look at the Lions and they're like, "Well, the Lions only played like one awesome defense."
50:20Like they were really bad. But the differences between Green Bay and Cleveland couldn't be more different structurally the way they play. The
50:27Packers in that first game played just a ton of zone coverage. They want to take Jared Goff's first readway, make him
50:34check down. They didn't blitz him at all. He his time to throw in week one was two 2.95 seconds from the snap to
50:40throw. It was the uh he's only had two games longer than that since joining the Lions. Uh his first read throw rate in
50:46week one is 53.8% uh compared to 68% in week two and then 75% last week. Browns number one in rate of man coverage, second in pressure
50:55rate, six in pressure rate. Uh they also blitz at the 12th highest rate. They want you to force quick processing in
51:01first read stuff which could kind of be a trap here in this game. Uh golf so far under pressure this season's third in
51:06completion rate. He's fifth in yards surpassed him. This goes back to last year too. He was really awesome and flipped the script on his career under
51:13pressure against man coverage. He's completed 20 of 24 passes for just under nine yards per pass attempt. So I I mean
51:20if if everything lines up here and the Lions are going to be throwing the football to score these points and not
51:25being have as much success running the football, I I kind of really like this like a Jared Goff, Aman Raw, Jameson
51:32Williams way to play this. Uh these guys are right now like no one's in into these guys at all this weekend.
51:40That those are really interesting notes because yeah, the the stuff the first read stuff like really jumped out week one where Goff was he had an awesome
51:48completion percentage and wasn't attempting first read throws and then you saw that Jir Gibbs was like benefiting hugely there. He was just
51:55getting tons and tons of checkdowns. And so that that setup really worked out for Gibbs. this setup. I would one of the
52:03things that I dove into was that Jameson Williams has been much much better on throws of two plus five seconds. Uh on
52:13those throws, he has a 17% targets per out run, which matches Aman Stain Brown.
52:19Uh Brown has a 14.6 AOT, so he's been getting downfield, but but Jameson Williams has a 20.6 AOT on those throws.
52:25He's, you know, he's got the speed to actually get behind the defense if you give him time. He has 2.61 yards per
52:32route run on throws of 2 plus 5 seconds.
52:35So th those have been really what's driving his value this year. Uh Amanra has has also been awesome on those throws, but he's but Amanra is great on
52:44quick throws as well. And so Williams, the thing that that makes me nervous here, he has a 9% first read target
52:51rate. Uh >> so if this is going to be about like let's get the ball out quickly and to the first read. Um that's an Amanro
53:00game.
53:01>> Yep.
53:01>> Uh >> and he's got massive uh splits to open the year against, you know, man coverage and then the Blitz. He's he's got a 36%
53:09target share against the Blitz right now. And again, it's a three-game sample. And you know, and also one of these grain assaults, too, I do want to
53:14say because when you hear me talk about the coverage stuff, one of like one of these splits is like is a Bears game. Like you we have like
53:23like we got you have to remember like beating the Bears and beating the Browns is different. Like we I don't expect
53:28even being kind of say like this to me the way this is like to me like a single entry like you like you play golf with
53:35Aman Rah and if it doesn't hit no big deal like it's like this would be a one:00er where these guys are going to
53:42be probably sub 5% owned >> and you know could it be a game where like Amanro gets like 12 targets even no
53:48matter what the score is because they just can't they're not able to run the football to the capacity they have been
53:52in the past two weeks. uh that would be like the way to play and then if you know if he doesn't you just close your
53:57laptop on that one. You're just like well all right uh you know big deal. But I'm definitely intrigued because the the
54:02point total it's like how do the Lions get to these points? And that's the avenue I see it is like through you know
54:08kind of golf almond raw and then Williams it would just be more about like just cashing in a chunk one. Um
54:13because I agree with you. I I I absolutely agree with you. The targets just probably aren't going to be there.
54:18It would just be can we get one.
54:20>> I agree. Yeah. and and he definitely has the talent to do that. But I this this to me could be like a huge amra target
54:28share game. He's just like constantly racking up targets. Um >> cuz I mean he can do it.
54:33>> He is the run game. Like he is the run game.
54:34>> He is the run game. Yeah. Yeah. 100%. So I like that call a lot. Um I've been kind of a little bit bearish on the
54:41Lions in this in this spot because of the pressure. Um and I think they're you know they're blocking >> from red. I think it's okay to knock
54:49them. Like I wouldn't pursue this like from like a reddraft stance like >> like would I choose to play golf over
54:55like someone I really liked? I don't think I would. Right.
54:58>> Uh but I'm just thinking like small field like this is like this would be the outcome to like kind of attack it.
55:05>> I like it. I like it. Uh Brown's side they they took Harold Fannon from us.
55:10He's at 50% round participation which is a bummer. I'm seeing like David and Jooku, you know, kind of pop up as as
55:17someone people are interested in to the point that I'm wondering if he actually becomes a bit steamy as we as we head
55:23into Sunday. I >> DraftKings he will be.
55:26>> Yeah, I I'm warning people against that.
55:28I this dude like his whole deal is like scammy underneath targets and he's paired with a tight end who does that
55:35better. Like I'm not gonna play fan in this week, but like the fact that he's running a bunch of routes and not
55:40getting targeted like yeah because the guy does his thing now and comes on the field and takes away those targets. So I
55:47I don't know. I mean 80% participation from Jooku that's cool but he still has a lower target share than Fannon on the
55:53season. So um is like a low on pivot all right but is if he's chalk like no way.
55:59No way.
56:00>> Oh yeah. Um >> absolutely not. Quinchon Judkins uh more reddraft here, but uh has looked really good. 43% success rate in in the nextG
56:09stuff. Looked that's that's nice. Uh and then rush yards over expected. He's he's running back two and rush yards over expected per game. Running back four and
56:16rush yards are expected per attempt.
56:17Running back six in breakaway yards per game. Looking looking pretty strong. uh they'll they'll lean on him as much as they can get away with, which might not
56:24be that much because the Lions probably put up points against them, but if this game ends up being a little bit closer,
56:31uh we're going to see plenty of Judkins here.
56:34>> Yeah, especially in context of Judkins stuff, you know, obviously only being with the team for two weeks, then against a Green Bay defense that had uh
56:42you know, erased this Lions run game in week one. Uh and then, you know, uh week two shut down the Commanders run game.
56:49So, um, then Jack Conklin didn't play in this game on Sunday. Dwan Jones left after four snaps. So, like in context of
56:56everything, you're like, "This is pretty impressive." Like, this is pretty impressive. He's he's averaging 4.8 yards per carry on runs where he's been
57:02hit at or behind the line of scrimmage.
57:04Uh, the running back average is 1.4 yards per carry. Again, small sample early season stuff. He has, but he has a
57:0939% success rate on those runs, getting hit at or behind the line. The running back average is 18%. Again, these are
57:15the things that stand out to people like your coach is like, "Hey," they watch the film and they're like, "Dude, you
57:20should lost two yards on this play. You got us three." Like, you know, like >> they love that, man.
57:25>> The only thing right now short term is just the >> It's the opposite of Kenneth Walker where you you see a linebacker, you spin
57:31backwards three yards, you turn around.
57:37>> Yeah. the the only thing you're talking about the only thing with Judkins is you're looking for the the receiving stuff to kind of uptick and maybe it w
57:44maybe it will maybe it won't but like that's just all all we're like looking for to to complete this circle here.
57:51>> The good news is that Dylan Samson had an 8% snap share last week. So he's not a threat. It's it's he can take it from
57:57Jerome Ford which it >> I I like that. I think that's that it's easier competition from a talent perspective u for Judkins to add. But
58:05yeah, even last week just 37% round participation. So that's he is kind of more of a two down guy which makes him
58:11more fragile.
58:13>> Yeah.
58:13>> Yeah. Two down guy and a bad offense.
58:15But hey, he he might be the he might be the offense.
58:18>> It's like not really the week to play two down guy in a bad offense in DFS.
58:22But >> I'm I'm happy to to have him in in reddraft stuff.
58:26>> I think everyone considering what the outcome that looked like to be the most probable a month ago, like you got to be
58:32riding high. Like you got to feel it as good as you can.
58:36>> Yeah. And I have a lot of him in baseball cuz in baseball, you know, he's going after the charges were dropped,
58:41he's like he like eventually fell back to like the 160s and I like it's like what do you win when you win? Like
58:47>> a really good running back for free.
58:49Like what do you mean? So, uh yeah, I've got a bunch. I'm feeling very very good about that. But um yeah, I think weekly
58:57stuff it's it's a little it's a little thing. um especially given the opportunity cost >> and if you're in season long stuff uh I
59:06don't know if it'll be sticky but we saw Cedric Tilman get kind of cut into by Isaiah Bond last week something just to
59:12kind of keep an eye on just you know because I know there deeper leagues that have been that were rolling Tilman out
59:16and you know he scored a touchdown the first two weeks but just something I don't know how sticky he'll be it's
59:20again one week early in the season these things could oscillate but Isaiah Bond did play more and it was at the expense
59:25of Tilman last week he actually played in uh more one to two wide receiver stuff too which was kind of what you
59:31wouldn't expect, right? Uh he ran more routes and won two wide receiver sets than Tilman last week.
59:36>> Yeah, Tilman was down 96 94 and then 76% round participation last week.
59:41>> And I don't know, maybe there was something like that just wasn't reported, banged up or something. Just something to keep an eye on. It's just a
59:45note I made.
59:46>> No, it's a great call.
59:48>> Bond. Yeah, Bond was up to 58 after 39 the week before. Uh, >> it has no bearings on like anything
59:53anyone's doing in this game, but I just know like Tilman is a guy that had been hanging on to like that like flexist
59:58wide receiver five type vibes with people. So, like just keep an eye on that.
60:03>> That's a good note. Um, all right, let's go to the Eagles at Bucks. Uh, Worfs might be back. This is this is one I I I
60:12did like a whole deep dive into their what their starting line was supposed to be and then what it was last week and it
60:18not they didn't have a single offensive lineman playing where they were originally designated to start in before the season because it's not that
60:28everyone was out although they they were missing three starters but >> then they took Martin and had him at tackle and then they had their guard at
60:34center so everybody's literally zero of five. Um I Worfs was gotten a full practice yesterday, so he's probably back. Um that might mean they have
60:45Barton back at center, but but their uh Charlie Hec, their backup tackle, like absolutely stinks, so they might want to keep him off the field. So, it's still
60:54going to be kind of shuffled up. I I think um in terms of like where guys are playing and uh at a minimum they'll
61:00still be with two reserves playing um because they they've lost Cody M Cody Mock and uh Lucadi but uh
61:10it's be better than it was I guess. Uh but the problem I think here I was listening um to a podcast breaking down
61:18uh heck a little bit and and talking about how the Jets just kind of like missed an opportunity against him with
61:23their bad pass rush. the Eagles pass rush is pretty good. And the the concern with the Bucks offensive line, even with
61:30Warf's back, it's been like, you know, the such big injury issues that they might get exposed here. Like they they probably were like against a better
61:41matchup last week, I think the talk would be like, "Oh my god, this offensive line." And now with Mike Evans out,
61:47um, and that's still being a a pretty big concern against, you know, the Eagles defense, h I'm a little bit nervous about the Bucks here. Uh, you
61:56know, obviously you can you can count on Ibuka to consolidate uh targets and he's been awesome and Bucky is a really
62:03really good player and he can he can produce as well here, but um I'm I don't love this game environment for the Bucks
62:11especially. No, they they definitely tried to adjust around the offensive line, too. Baker had his quickest time to throw in a game last week. They
62:17actually ran their highest rate of screens, too. So, they were aware of like you're trying to work around this.
62:22The only pro you have if like kind of stacking this game or trying to play around if you're trying to go back to
62:26the Eagle stuff that we got to see in the second half finally um is that it's just going to be consolidated due to the
62:32amount of injuries with Mike Evans now being out is you know, you're going to get touches for Bucky Irving and you
62:36know you're going to have opportunities for Ibuka even if Godwin comes back.
62:40I've seen some people try to flow out the Khan stuff and I would just like to remind people it's not a one for one
62:44with what happened last year and it's against Zack Bon and the Eagles. I would be a little bit hesitant.
62:49>> New new OC. Yeah.
62:51>> Yeah. New OC.
62:52>> I threw it out there as like a >> you know he's a tight end too this week.
62:55I'm not going to he's not a a dude in DFS. I'm I'm excited to play at all.
62:59>> Yeah.
63:00>> I 6800 on DraftKings as well. So he's not >> I'm not really that into that. Like >> he's getting played every week too. uh
63:08you know, part of the algorithm is how much your ownership is the week before and he's been getting played uh every
63:13game. So, it hasn't helped his cause, but it's just going to be consolid.
63:16That's like the big bull case you have is like, hey, these are the guys this week. This is what they this is what
63:21they're bringing to the party, >> right? But but Irving 6900 probably gets a little bit of ownership. Bua 68. So, >> Mhm.
63:29>> it's tough in DFS. I mean, you know, but at the same time, like Bucky earrings an RB1 in reddraft.
63:36Abuka is like a high-end RB or high-end wide receiver 2 type of guy. Um, so, you know, nothing nothing crazy. I
63:44don't have any crazy hot takes here, but it's just not it's not a game of iron I'm that excited about. Um, and then on
63:51the the flip side, I mean, >> yeah, if you believe that, that's what's fun. If you believe that, so what Eagles
63:55are we getting just now?
63:59Barkley, I guess, like I don't know how how are you playing the Eagles side?
64:04>> I I mean, I just thought it was pretty telling that the two star players in this team like absolutely did not hold
64:11back against their against Kevin Patulo after that game. Like were, you know, the commentary from Jaylen Herz and AJ Brown emphasizing like this is the way
64:22they have to play. They have to stop playing not to lose games. I mean, I thought that was pretty That that's something that probably did
64:30not go overlooked inside the building. I would assume. Uh you would hope it didn't either because they you can't do what they did in the first half last
64:38week and expect to win a lot of games that way. You can't be down 26 to seven against good teams and then just like be
64:43like, "All right, now we have to throw."
64:45Like that just can't be the approach of NFL winning NFL football games. That's just you can't consistently do that.
64:51They they had two third and longs in the first half of that game where they were just like we'll just punt. like they
64:56just handed off on like a third and 16.
64:58So like we'll just hand off and punt. Uh and you know like again they're just trying to play not to lose. I'm very
65:04curious to see to start this game what we get. The other component we have though too is Todd BS is has low-key
65:12kind of own Jaylen Herz like it's the only team because you know Jay Herz like even back to college like he's like the
65:17big QB wins guy like what like he just wins games. uh one and four against Todd BS. Uh he uh has completed 59% of his
65:26passes in five career five career games.
65:286.2 yards of pass attempt. Todd BS has blitzed his face off in all these games.
65:33>> And he's blitzing a lot this year.
65:34There's six blitz. He always blitzes.
65:36>> He's blitzed he's blitzed Herz personally 42% of his drop backs in these matchups. Uh and against the blitz in those games, Herz has a 72 rating,
65:4658.7% completion rate, 6.3 yards for pass attempt. I do want to throw one caveat out there is the last time these
65:52teams played was when the Eagles were just decimated. He didn't have AJ Brown or Dvonte Smith. So, you know, that was
65:59one of the games in the sample. So, keep that in mind. But, uh, pretty interesting layers of elements here because if the Bucks aren't able to put
66:06up as good as a fight as they typically would with the full team and we think the game script could be more Eagles in
66:12control, are the Eagles going to go back into a shell again?
66:16>> Yeah, I like the I like DC wins. We need to bring DC wins back into the in the conversation. QB wins is is is
66:24over. Give me DC wins. Um the the Yeah, the I don't know if the Eagles are like it'll be cur I'll be curious to see who
66:33their OC is next year and then what what team he becomes the head coach of in 2027 because that seems to be the
66:40pattern. You get you bring in one guy, he gets hired away. You have some dude that we completely forget about. Then
66:46you bring in a good offensive coordinator. Then he gets hired away.
66:49>> So we're we're in the uh the town here.
66:51The fow, they're leaving the fieldow.
66:55>> I feel bad for guys like Kevin Culo and even Nick Kay to a not to the extent because like I they're not doing a great
67:00job, but it's like we didn't know who these guys were until like they've done a bad job and now everyone knows that
67:05they're just bad.
67:06>> Like I don't feel that bad because who was the OC in 2023 for the Eagles?
67:12>> Brian Johnson. See, I I don't even that's not in my brain anymore. I've moved on. So, you know, I think Kevin
67:20Patulo is not a name. If you ask me who Kevin Patulo is in 2028, I don't think I'm going to be able to tell you. That's
67:28where we're headed. Um, but I mean, Barkley, like, okay, so Barkley's going against a tough run defense here, but like he's also Barkley. Um, is he
67:38Barkley? Because he >> Well, that's the Well, that's the other side of the coin, right? is for them to keep remaining what they did in the
67:44second half I think is important for Barkley is it not like because they haven't run the ball well where's what's a way to kind of open that up
67:51>> start throwing the ball >> right right yeah I mean that's if you think this could be like a a tough spot for the Bucks which
68:01I do um because you talk about Baker's time to throw and that coming down a little bit but that's he's been out
68:07there like making plays and I mean Baker's been awesome like scumbling around, dude. It's like, who are the people that don't like Baker Mayfield? I
68:15want to find those.
68:16>> I don't know, man. I don't know. Um, >> but yeah, I mean, his it could it feels like it's kind of happening.
68:25There's not like a lot of margin for error here, uh, where, you know, in a in a tougher matchup with, uh, without Mike
68:34Evans. And, and I mean, Mike Evans has been carrying a ton of weight for this team. like he has he has 27% targets per
68:40sprout run, 29% target share. Like it it is not good to pull out Mike Evans from this offense, 12.6 ADOT. He he has a
68:4992nd percentile double coverage rate. Um drawing targets despite a ton of double coverage even though he hasn't been like super efficient this year. Like he's
68:56he's been massively important for the offense. So it will hurt. It will hurt not to have him. Um, so yeah, that's
69:04this not not my favorite game, which means it'll probably be the one to go off, which is which has happened a couple
69:10times this year, >> but but yeah, uh, Titans at Texans. Um, >> holy [ __ ] >> Yeah, man. You know what? I'm gonna I'm
69:19going to start with the Texans on this.
69:21I'm like mildly intrigued by now this is like I I and I this is not a bit like I honestly might do like one like five
69:29dollar Millie lineup with a with a Texans double stack uh with a Straoud Nico >> and Christian Kirk. Yeah, because Titans
69:39suck suck against the run. Dead last in EPA 31st in DVO 26th in success rate.
69:46Obviously, the Texans can't run the ball with any kind of explosiveness, but Nick Chub has been like decent. He's the cream hunt. He's doing the cream hunt.
69:5444% success rate. RB 17. He's actually running back 15 in Russia. They were expected per game. Although uh if you pull out the touchdown that they let him
70:02score, maybe that drops, but uh you know, you're not expected to do anything, but they let you score. So, that that goes into the metric. Um, but
70:12you know, the Texans, I'm I'm very unimpressed with with Nick Kelly so far.
70:18Um, has been has been running a lot on first down, especially in their first couple games. Uh, I think that's kind of
70:26what they they want to do, but it's like, hey man, like your personnel is not really matching up with your philosophy. What what what are you going
70:32to do here? and and so far it seems like he's sticking with the philosophy, which I I never like to see, but the matchup's
70:39so easy. The they they should be able to front run here. They're they're like touchdown favorites this year.
70:45>> I mean, they're touchdown favorites.
70:46Yeah.
70:47>> Yeah. So, this is >> Put him in your Survivor. This would be the week to use the Texans in your
70:53>> Oh my god. Yeah. And and what could go wrong, you know? What could go wrong? I love this. Yeah.
71:00But I mean there's there's some of these teams, right, where you're like, "Hey, there's there's a spot where this like team that's like never doing anything is
71:09like in the perfect environment where they actually get to be like they blossom into the team like they think they are, even though they're definitely
71:15like way too bad to be to be playing that way. This this kind of has that that vibe to me where Titans are are bad
71:22against the pass and the run. They're allowing explosive plays. Uh they don't really have that much of a pass rush.
71:28Um, so yeah, I mean I Nico Collins still looks awesome.
71:33>> Uh, they're playing uh Xavier Hutchinson over the rookie receivers, which is good for for anyone who's, you know, not Xavier Hutchinson or the rookie
71:43receivers because could help consolidate stuff. And then Christian Kirk comes back last week. He's at 77% route participation. He has 24% targets per
71:51out run, 23% target share, 18% first target rate. Like he is he is involved.
71:56like he is supposed to be a big part of the offense. His yards per target comes in at 3.1 uh which is obviously horrendous and
72:03that kills his yards per route run but in expected points last week he was at 13.4 four, he scores just 5.5.
72:10But like there was a role here. There was production >> um potential. And so I think you know Nico Collins who's also a bit of a
72:19positive aggression candidate and Christian Kirk, >> they're the clear double stack way to play this. And uh you know maybe I
72:27wouldn't even call this a get-right spot. It's like sort of like a fake optimism spot like >> you know like oh the Texans are back.
72:34Like they're not. But they will they might have this one cool >> so uh yeah I mean there I I brought this
72:41up on on our DFS pod with squirrel patrol and and he mentioned like you know this the total sucks but they have
72:49an applied team total of 22.75 which it really isn't that bad.
72:53>> So how do the Texans score points here?
72:56How do they how do they live up to that total? It's probably I mean it would be hilarious if Nick Chub just went off and
73:02Strad did nothing but but it would make sense for them to kind of be able to to get the passing game going a little bit
73:09here um as part of a an an you know somewhat balanced attack but the passing game being what's driving the success.
73:16So I I will tout the Texans a little bit um as like a really large field uh under the radar play.
73:24>> I yeah I don't mind that at all as a shout. I mean, Titans 25th in pressure rate. They're not even trying to get to
73:30blitz around that. They're 25th in blitz rate. And when they haven't pressured the opposing quarterback so far, they've allowed a 78% completion rate. That's
73:3728th in the NFL. 7.8 yards of passes, that's 23rd. A 5.6% touchdown rate, which is 20th. And then the Kirk stuff
73:44does align, too, where the Titans have had a lot of opening season issues.
73:48They're 30th in yards for target to slot receivers. They're 26th in receptions allotted to slot receivers. So there's definitely the path to get here uh
73:55around that as like a definitely no one's playing that double stack. So no, you know, Nico will get mixed in a
74:01little bit, but that you ain't gonna see a lot of CJ Shodd or Christian Kirk out there.
74:06>> You're not you're not going to see it.
74:09But you know, Kirk's pretty cheap actually.
74:11>> Yeah. Yeah. But the role was there like you said that was and that's what we expected too. Uh, the one thing we
74:16haven't expected is just like these rookies to be or especially Higgins to be slow played as long as he has.
74:22>> Kirk is like a legit I think Kirk might be like a flag plant play for me this week in DFS. I'm just I'm just doing it.
74:284,400.
74:30>> Um, he's he's not going to be owned.
74:33Like you're talking sub 5% ownership >> and maybe lower than that.
74:38>> Wait, what's lower than sub five?
74:41>> None.
74:41>> Subterranean. Subterranean.
74:45Yeah, it's rough. Yeah. So, so yeah, I mean I >> I can see it the stench of the Texans for sure. Uh
74:54>> this is the Bill Simmons uh loser goes home. You know, this is like this these two teams like and and if I'm betting on
75:01like teams in disarray, I think the Titans have a pretty they're pretty big favorites for like more disarray.
75:09>> Oh yeah. Well, they don't have a defense. They don't have a defense and their head coach is going to get fired
75:13soon. I think it's been a disaster.
75:16>> It's pretty bad.
75:18>> Texans or Titans side of this. So, uh I like listening to Ole Connelly break down the film stuff. He was he came away
75:25from his film study on Ward like glowing. He's like, man, this dude he get what he was impressed with was once
75:32he gets off his first read, he like works through his second and third progression like super quickly. He's like he's almost like a combo read. like
75:38he gets that ball out so quick once he comes off the first read. What's interesting is I I broke down that like
75:45him he's really not coming off that first read. Like he he has 16% of his dropbacks which by far the highest in
75:52the league. He he has he has either a sack, an interception, a bat a pass or a throwaway where he didn't come off the
75:59first read. So like basically there's no a bad outcome and he never he never checked for anything else. This was the
76:07Sam Howell issue. Um where it's just like he just hangs hangs hangs looking.
76:12Oh, it's going to come open. It never comes open, takes the sack, you know, where he just chucks it up. He's like,
76:17"Well, it hasn't come open, but I'll let's give my guy a chance." And he'll kind of chuck it up and it's
76:21intercepted. Like that kind of play. And Ken Ward, you know, part of the like I don't even know if it's a criticism
76:28necessarily, but he kind of plays like in this like calm, relaxed way. And it's like you might the the timing might need
76:35to speed up here a little bit, which which probably will happen, you know, over the course of his uh rookie season.
76:41We're only three games in, but it's it's not great um to be going up against the Texans pass rush if your issue is that
76:51your clock is slow. Um and I do think that's that's his issue at least right now. Um, so I could see this being a
76:59pretty rough outing for Cam Ward, who, you know, an EPA uh, per game is is better than than only Joe Flacco and JJ
77:07McCarthy. Kind of unsustainably bad level. Um, and he has the worst success rate of all quarterbacks this season.
77:14So, um, the Texans passing stuff that I that I gleefully touted before, like the one of the ways that fails is that like
77:21they just don't need to pass that much.
77:23The Titans can't can't push back at all.
77:26Yeah, 100%. I mean, yeah, that's the the as bad as it's gone for Houston, the defense has still been doing their part.
77:32So, that's the uh you're not going to get pushed here. I think if you just do this, you just play through Texans and
77:37you don't really worry about much on the Tennessee side unless you're just like doing the volume based flex stuff for Tony Pard, which is kind of, you know,
77:46that's really it. It's really all they have to offer. This the Calvin Ridley stuff hasn't really happened. Uh, >> nope.
77:52>> Aomanor is kind of cutting into some stuff. He's getting a lot of like uh the man coverage stuff. So like if they see
77:58anything like he's getting some first read stuff there. Uh Derek Stingley could miss this game, but does it matter? Like >> right
78:04>> like >> it just you're not excited about any other pieces. Uh yeah, it's it's the rookie quarterback uh on the road
78:11against this pass rush. It's just hard to objectively have a lot of good signal here for anything.
78:18>> Yeah.
78:18>> Yeah. I mean has a 17% first rate target rate which which is higher than Ridley.
78:23>> Yeah. who's at 16%. So, >> well, you think of him as a quarterback like Ward is like Ward is a little bit
78:28of a gunslinger and he'll give his guys some chances and Imanor is that type of receiver >> like he can give him, you know, hey,
78:35I'll jam it into this dude, this big guy. Like, let's see what happens. Give him a chance to win. And that's kind of
78:39what's happened.
78:41>> Yeah. So, you know, long term, you know, Ward's probably a lot better than the the numbers suggest so far, but like
78:47this is if you're looking to buy low, like wait until after the week, I think is kind of my read >> on that. Um,
78:54>> commanders at Falcons, uh, I wrote this up with with uncertainty around the quarterback, but we now know it'll be Mariota.
79:01>> Uh, we're going to be without Terry McLaren here as well.
79:04>> Um, thoughts on uh the Washington side here?
79:09Yeah, I'm not as bullish as it was last week when we knew Mario was going to be starting against the Raiders. So, we'll
79:14see how how popular he ends up being. Um because I don't love this game environment as much as I liked it last
79:20week. Uh so, no, removed Terry McLaren from the equation. The reason I liked Mariota last week is I thought they'd be
79:27able to run the ball effectively and take some shot plays against the Raiders defense that we will go into further lengths again that gives up shot plays.
79:34And we should have gotten one. Terry McLaren, I don't know how they overruled that that play he got hurt on. Uh he he
79:39wasn't down. Uh I'll take it to the grave. But the the Falcons don't give up a lot of big plays. You're removing the
79:46big play aspect of this offense. Like I mean Debo is going to get a lot of work here. A lot of the Debo underneath
79:52stuff. He's probably going to even have some rushing work. Like we saw a little bit more of that last week. He'll
79:56probably get some more this week if if JKR cross commander is as banged up as practice let on this week. It sounds
80:01like he's going to be able to go >> piece. Yeah.
80:03>> Yeah. He did practice today. So, it sounds okay.
80:06>> Yeah, I did. Yeah, I made sure to check on that one. Uh, >> so it sounds like Debo can get some
80:11work, but like Debo's not gonna be out there with Terry McLaren out like running post routes and like, you know, it's just not what we're going to see.
80:17So, we're going to get like Chris Moore is probably actually going to be the guy that plays for directly for Terry
80:23McLaren and because I know Luke McCaffrey had a touchdown last week, but they had already pulled everyone at that point. Like so I think Chris Moore will
80:31be actually the guy that plays Terry McLaren's position in the offense because Noah Brown's still out too by the way. Uh so I'm just not as excit
80:39excited about like this top down as I was last week. Uh the Falcons I believe unless they play as badly as they did,
80:46but the Falcons have outgainain their opponent every single game this year. I think they want to run the football.
80:51They're at home. The the matchup is a little bit better for them. I think with Terry McLaren being out. So, it's like I
80:56know they want AJ Terrell, but like AJ Terrell without Terry McLaren like kind of is a net. It's like a a neutral kind
81:02of swap here because he's not he was never going to like shadow Debo Samuel or like do anything. So, it's like yeah,
81:08that's like not the way Debo plays.
81:10>> So, I'm a little bit less like intrigued by like the the opportunity this game has to like explode. Maybe it will, but
81:17um just not as excited in general.
81:21>> Yeah, I like the spot for Debo. Um, >> yeah, that's the one guy.
81:25>> He's he's definitely interesting. Uh, where you at on uh Mariota vers Dart as far as DFS goes?
81:34>> Uh, this week, I mean, I'm probably if I'm punting, I'm going to play Dart more. I don't know how much that
81:40ownership's going to look like. I have my quarterback pulled down to four, five right now. I have it down to Lamar, um,
81:47Caleb, Gino. We're going to get to those two guys. uh Goff, who I mentioned for the reasons for small field stuff, and
81:53then Dart for the punt stuff, and then I'm gonna see where that kind of spreads out. So, I kind of have Mariota out this
81:58week.
81:59>> So, you're you're out on May.
82:01>> Uh he's just not making So, I am historically usually only a four quarterback player.
82:06>> Um and then Dart being a punt is like the reason I think he can make some of the cut, but I have to see what that
82:11gets me. Dart might not make the cut if the salary, like getting the salary doesn't even matter. Like, >> it just does Dart allow me to do
82:18something like we talked about. Can I play McCaffrey with James Cook in a dart lineup? Is like that does that >> I'm pretty I'm pretty interested in
82:24doing that.
82:25>> You know what I mean? Like if if that's the avenue it opens up then yes, Dart's going to make the pool. But like if I
82:30can do that without like doing stuff with Dart, then he'll probably end up getting axed. Uh but I'm historically a very low uh QB player uh in my player
82:39pool. I usually I usually cap it at four. Sometimes we'll go as low as three even. So that's the only reason. But uh
82:45yeah, so I think Mario's not going to make it this week for me. So hopefully I'll get shadow roamed.
82:51>> What about uh any interest in Z who's you know another guy kind of step up a little bit.
82:57>> Yeah. I mean I don't have have any problem with it because it's all going to have to go to these guys. The other
83:01ancillary guys are kind of jabronies man like >> Yeah, you know.
83:07>> And that the pass rush for the F the Falcon the Falcons actually have a good pass rush this year. Um which was a huge
83:12problem for them last year and they seem to have fixed. I mean they they they addressed it. They brought in guys and
83:17it seems to be >> teams against them aren't running any plays.
83:22>> That's that's an intriguing note. Uh do I have their pace against in here? I don't think I do. Um >> they're fifth fewest in like opponent
83:33plays, but you know I they because inherently like they want to protect Michael Penn like they >> Yeah.
83:39>> So if they're if they do a better job >> Yeah. Or if like talking about Kirk Cousins, >> if the commanders aren't able to just
83:45pull away or like Bejian's just like it's it's staying positive, like we're probably going to see like I feel like a
83:51damp like a a restrictor plate on like this game being awesome.
83:57>> That makes sense. Um do you have any anyone that interests you on the Falcon side?
84:04>> I I tried to I thought I was going to talk myself into Drake London and I ended up not getting there. Um, Mooney
84:10is like interesting target share since he's been back. And the commanders do are they're banged up on the back end.
84:15So like that that would be the avenue, right, for his game being fun. Uh, Will Harris went on IR. He broke his fibula
84:21last week. Uh, Trey Amos had a calf injury and Percy Butler had a hip injury. So like they're down three starters in the secondary. That would be
84:28like the avenue, right?
84:29>> And isn't I think isn't Butler replacing Harris? So it's their third.
84:35>> Uh, they brought in Darnell Savage. They brought they signed Carmel Savage this week who off the street. So it looks
84:40like he's going to have to play like right away.
84:43>> Yeah, that well that's not great. So >> So that would be the one avenue if like you believe Penn can like bounce back
84:49and like maybe we see some Mooney Drake London stuff. He hasn't thrown a touchdown to a receiver yet. Would this be the week?
84:57>> Both guys are really popping. If you look at expected points and and fantasy points over expected, Darnold Mooney's fifth percentile in fantasy points over
85:05expected. He's basically scoring about half the points you'd expect for for his targets. Um, and then Drake London is in the ninth percentile. He's about four
85:14points below expectations. So, they both are positive aggression candidates. It's not really something that I have gotten a ton of it, but maybe that's one I need
85:23to look into more because um, you have you have the injuries on uh, the commander side and they're pretty incentivized to uh, you know, have
85:33Pennix look a little bit better. So, if he's having a better game, maybe they lean into that a little bit. Bejian
85:39Robinson obviously just, you know, he's he's a great player every single week.
85:43Not someone I'm going to probably have this week in DFS. It it doesn't even seem like he's going to get like lost in
85:50the shuffle. Exactly. Um seeing like 10 to 15% ownership. So, that doesn't really jump out to me. But, um yeah, Drake London might actually be kind of
85:59chalky. It looks like uh >> on DraftKings DraftKings his price is uh definitely more favorable for like this hard. Yeah.
86:09>> Yeah, >> because that's where he's more geared up to where you want to play him on DraftKings versus FanDuel anyways.
86:14>> Yep. But yeah, Darnell Mooney 4700. I think I think he's interesting for sure.
86:20>> He's going to be I mean because he's going to be out there. Uh he had the bad drops, but uh the what was the Penn
86:25quote after the game? me. He was like, I need to do I need to throw to the guys that are open. I was like, well, that's
86:30novel. Like, thank you. Uh, yeah.
86:35>> You just thought of that.
86:37>> Yeah. Have you been throwing the guys not open?
86:40>> Well, that explains a lot.
86:44>> Um, all right, let's go to the Colts at Rams. Uh, Daniel Jones, man. He's He's breaking my charts. I I literally I have
86:53the EPA charts. I'll share this. Uh, and I like put new lines on them because I'm like, this is actually like this is not
87:04sustainable. So, to show people how not sustainable this is, uh, I have green line a green line here.
87:12>> You just made it like a bucket.
87:14>> Yeah. This this this green these intersecting green lines is like where this chart like will eventually end.
87:21like this is the bord the future borders of this chart >> are about where Jared Goff is.
87:26>> Um this success rate is like bananas because this success rate is where Aaron Aaron Rogers was in 2020. Uh you know
87:34one of his his very strong seasons super high. It's like kind of like peak Drew Brees level success rate. Uh and then
87:42this line here represents where Patrick Mahomes was in 2018. So Daniel Jones is like 2018 Mahomes efficiency with like
87:52the best consistency ever. So uh not not going to sustain but like still super impressive that that we're here. Uh the
88:00one of the the ways that I noted the Colts are getting here is that they've been able to just constantly throughout the entire game threaten with
88:10both the pass and the run because they're playing from ahead. And Jonathan Taylor's awesome. And you know, they've got Tyler Warren who's this new dual
88:18threat guy who's really good. He's tight end five and run block rate. He's been he's been everything they were hoping.
88:23Um and so it's all working really well.
88:25But uh you know, they're on the road here. Uh they are actually dogs in this game.
88:31>> They're favored by just over or underdogs by just over a field goal. And they're facing a really strong pass rush. Um, so I think the Rams, like the
88:41way to beat the Colts right now is like make them one-dimensional and, uh, I think the Rams might be able to do it. I
88:48mean, they're they're favored. So, um, it it'll be a real test for for the Colts here in a couple of ways. I think
88:54it's sort of a test of like how much they believe in Jones or like how like no no no no no no like the the way this
88:59works is like we established Jonathan Taylor so they could they could maybe be like a little bit stubborn here a little
89:04bit like runheavy even in you know a high expected pass rate situation. Um or do they let Daniel Jones go out there
89:13and cook with a higher pass rate than they've had all season? I mean they only peaked at a 57% pass rate. They they've
89:18really not thrown a ton. So, um, you know, he's gotten there on efficiency, but does his volume spike here, which would make him still pretty interesting.
89:26So, it's a it's going to be a pretty telling game, I think, for the Colts here. I tend to think that they kind of
89:33ride Jonathan Taylor no matter what. Um, and and that makes me a little bit more interested in Tyler Warren as part of
89:39like that identity. And I'm a little bit suspect of Josh DS, who's at like half the routes right now. Um and and so yeah, I I think the Colts
89:49will probably look like they've looked from an ident identity perspective, but this is >> this is a challenging matchup I think
89:56for them uh both defensively and potentially trailing.
89:59>> Yeah, 100%. It's a the first time in Daniel Jones's career he's been a QB1 in three straight weeks. Uh he's also
90:05thrown for over nine yards for past every game. Uh the last time that happened for the Colts was Andrew Luck in 2018. That's never happened. It's
90:14like, yeah, these are like this is where we are at Dale Jones. You just comped him to 2020 Aaron Aaron Rogers like
90:20I'm not comping him. He's blowing him out of the water.
90:23>> Rogers stinks compared to this guy.
90:25>> Yeah. Yeah. 2020 Aaron Rogers wishes he was 2025 >> wishes he was Daniel Jones.
90:31>> Yeah. I mean, this is where you worry about just like the the natural pressure rate without Blitzer. But like Daniel
90:35Jones right now, the the interesting the the stats for him that are really the most impressive is the non-handholding stuff because like
90:42>> yeah, >> you remove play action passes and you remove preenap motion passes. He's still at a 73% completion rate. The league
90:48averages 62% 9.1 yards per pass and league averages 6.3 almost three yards over and then he's got a 7% touchdown rate which is uh double the league 3.6%
90:59rate. So those are all going to come down like inherently even if they run hot. Uh, >> it's cool though. It's nice.
91:04>> It is. It is. Yeah.
91:06>> Yeah.
91:06>> And this would be a good spot to say like we just get some natural recoil like just >> for sure. Like the
91:13>> he play well and they come down like >> Yeah. Like Daniel Jones like will fall like he will 100%. It's a mortal lock.
91:22This is completely unsustainable. It doesn't mean that like it's a total mirage. It just means that like >> NFL quarterbacks don't play this well
91:31over the course of a large sample. It's impossible basically. So, >> um but yeah, I mean his the pressure stuff is really
91:38interesting. The the Colts are uh they're number three in EPA against the Blitz uh three number three against uh in EPA against pressure and then two
91:49from a clean pocket. So, they just been super efficient overall. But, he's seen the highest blitz rate. Uh they have the
91:5512th uh they're 12th in preventing pressure. So, you know, they've been okay there. They're 20th though in quick pressure rate, the Colts. So there there
92:03has been some quick pressure. Um they're also 25 25th in pass block win rate. So the offensive line has not really like
92:11it isn't that he's just getting like pristine protection. Like he's been really good. What I would say though is that like even with like okay, you know,
92:19non-playaction stuff, non-motion stuff, he's looked good. Like, >> yeah, but like on any play they basically can run the ball, you know,
92:27they're always in the script where like they >> they they've not been even if on that particular play they're not faking the
92:32run like the run was a threat pre- snap in so many of their plays and I think that's really really helping Jones. So
92:40like let's let's see it in negative game script a little bit. Now, there's no guarantee that they are a negative game
92:45script here. They could they could just beat the Rams and and and play, you know, from neutral or positive script throughout. So, um it wouldn't shock me
92:54if they if they just roll here again.
92:56But yeah, that that's kind of the thing with with Jones is that this sets him up to be under pressure um but also maybe
93:05like in obvious dropback situations, which is like how you would expect this to to crumble for at least a week.
93:12Yeah, I had some uh fun notes on Jonathan Taylor this week. So, he has been the RB1 back-to-back weeks. The last player to do that was Jonathan
93:21Taylor last year, week 16 and 17. So, if you combine that in your brain, the last six weeks of regular season NFL
93:28football, Jonathan Taylor has led the running back position in fantasy points, >> which is pretty crazy. You have to go all the way back to 2022 to find the
93:36last guy that had back-to-back weaknesses because like think about just being like you you have a lot of good games that just being the top scoreer is
93:42hard like you have to operate like a crazy game. The last guy to do it before that was Jerick McKinnon actually uh
93:48with the Chiefs like Yeah. So, but if you think like any six week sample where like a running back was the top scorer
93:56like overall like that is a that's just an absolute bonkers like thing to have.
94:00He's he's now going back to last year gone over 100 rushing yards in six of his past seven games. Basically, since
94:05Anthony Richardson has not played, Jonathan Taylor's been really good.
94:11>> So, >> why is that, Rich?
94:12>> Why is that?
94:13>> Yeah. Why Why is that? Why is that? But and and the his workload is the best of his career right now.
94:19>> Uh we talked about last week cuz like when you look at a service and you're like he's only averaging 2.7 receptions
94:25per game.
94:26>> That's that's like by far a career high if it holds. He's been on the field. He hasn't come off the field on passing
94:31downs anymore. He's been on the field.
94:34>> It's RB4. Like it's huge just because that's the difference of like his archetype versus like a Derrick Henry.
94:40Like you have like because Jonathan Taylor was always in that bucket like you he has to front run. He has to front
94:45run to get there and that's like kind of been removed from the equation this year. So it's like he's not going to
94:50catch like 10 passes but like that that just having something and having other outs is a is a massive deal for his
94:57portfolio.
95:00I I I completely agree and I think that this as nervous as I am a little bit about the Colts here, I think it's more like
95:11do the Colts do the Colts win this game.
95:14Like I I think I like the Rams here. Um I like the side of the Rams here. I'm I'm with the market,
95:22but I don't I'm not that nervous about Jonathan Taylor. Maybe from like a, you know, a third straight RB1 I am, but
95:28>> Right. From like a 30 point game.
95:30>> Yeah. From like a 30-point game, it's not ideal, but like I think he's gonna get fed here. Like they're they're going
95:36to he is the centerpiece of what they're doing is really my takeaway. Like man, Taylor is so critical to this team's
95:43success right now. And I think they're well aware of that and are going to try to establish him. And if they're they're
95:49down 10, right? And it's it's like, you know, we're third quarter they're down 10. are we getting Jonathan Taylor runs?
95:56Like, yep, we're getting Jonathan Taylor runs because that's how they they see, I think, um their path to efficient offense comes through threatening with
96:06Jonathan Taylor, uh as well as the passing game. So, uh I do >> they do get upside and they do have to
96:13just are put in like just the position like the Rams put the Eagles in last week where they have to throw. There are
96:21some opportunities here for these outside guys because we saw we talked about last week if the Eagles had to throw with Aklla Witherspoon being out
96:26like it was it was a pretty big deal uh for them. So you got guys like Pitman still like the one but like Pitman is
96:32kind of in like that Drake London role where like he has to have a lot of volume right >> um or get touchdowns but this injury to
96:40Alec Pierce makes AD Mitchell pretty interesting in that outcome especially at his price. I mean, since the start of last year, it's not because every it's
96:48not downs. Downs role doesn't change when Pierce or Pitman miss. He's still the slot guy.
96:52>> Didn't change last week either.
96:54>> Yep. So, since the start of last year, Mitchell 92% route participation when Pierce is off the field. He's also kind
97:00of like green. He's like Indianapolis Dantavian Wixs that like he's been targeted on 35% of those routes. It's the highest rate of the team. And then
97:07if we just go to this year's sample, he's been on the it's 95% route participation on the non-alague Pier snaps. 41.2%. 2% target rate per out run
97:17uh from Daniel Jones, they're more efficient targets than they were from Anthony Richardson. So, if you do are playing this game from like the angle
97:24that the the Colts maybe throw more than they've had to this year, him as a punt against outside where they've struggled
97:31against outside receivers, 9.1 yards per target so far that he becomes kind of interesting uh in that regard as well because Tyler Warren's going to be
97:39popular and then we'll see if people just inherently get the Pitman. But yeah, AD Mitchell looks pretty interesting on the surface as price
97:44point.
97:47>> I agree. And I also comped him to Dantavian Wixs in the >> There it is, man. Beautiful.
97:52>> You know, you didn't.
97:55>> I thought it was Dantavian Wixesque fantasy relevant reserve.
97:59>> Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Uh I I you were talking about Fannon and I didn't want to share my Fannon comp uh with you because I was
98:06like I can't share it with like Gretcher Crane but I was like this is I was like Harold Fannon's turned the Dalton
98:12Concade in a bad offense.
98:17>> Yeah. I mean it's hard to beat the allegations right now when he's running he's running fewer routes. So you know
98:23we'll see. I think uh I think I mean Injoku I think is basically Kate Aton in a bad offense which is which is why I'm suggesting
98:32don't play him if he gets he gets steamed but uh but yeah I like uh I like the Dantavian Wix comp for sure
98:40>> with with Mitchell. Um the the the Ram side of this um oh oh one note on on uh the Colts
98:51before we move on. Uh, the one concern I might have with Mitchell is his his ADOT is 18.6 and that Alec Pierce role is
98:59kind of a deep threat role and you have the pass rush being a concern here. I do I do like Tyler Warren. I know he's
99:04going to get played but like his I mean it's almost a concern um about how shallow his AOT has been. Uh uh it's at
99:145.2 this year, but he gets used on screens. Um they they run stuff where like they'll they'll roll Jones out and
99:21it's like clearly like Warren is it's like Warner or throw the ball away type stuff. So he gets >> he gets awesome after the catch though
99:28too. That's >> after the catch.
99:30>> That's the difference between him and like a guy like McBride who gets like a lot of low A dot stuff but like doesn't
99:35really do a lot with it afterwards.
99:37>> Like he's just like gets a lot of volume up there. It's like, but Warren can actually his ADOT like could be like
99:43like tight end Debo or like uh Tucker Crafter or like something like that.
99:48>> Totally. And I mean, so he's got a 19% first ret target rate, which is 92nd percentile for the position. And he's a
99:55rookie tight end. Like this is this is three games in he's already a huge part of what they're doing. So, um I'm I'm
100:01still pretty into him from a DFS perspective even with him being a little chalky because it's like >> Yeah. uh he he's going to I think he's
100:10going to be a key piece of what they're doing. And if they have to pass a little bit more, but they're still like trying
100:14to threaten with the run. Like he's he's a great run blocker. Um he's kind of part of that whole like being able to to
100:21threaten with with both the run and the pass. He he kind of embodies that, I think. And he's still pretty cheap, you
100:28know? It's not like you're you're having to like pay up a ton for him. He's 4,600. So, um I'm still I'm still a fan
100:35of of Tyler Warren. I wish I wish I had more baseball shares for sure, but uh but yeah, >> I wish I more teams period. I mean,
100:43>> I know he looks awesome.
100:45>> You know, there was a period where he was like real affordable and then like he never like climbed like gradually. He
100:50just like went to like the sixth round.
100:52Like he just like there was like no slow build with him. He was just like kind of being drafted at like tight end 12 and
100:57then then he just was being drafted at tight end six. Like it never like climbed up to it. It just happened. It
101:02just h I was like, "Oh, like I wish I took him more when he was there." Like >> I know there's there's always those guys
101:09like I Bua was one where I was like, "Yeah, you know, I think Abuka is a pretty good pick in in round uh in late
101:15round seven. I'm definitely going to take him like, you know, some not all the time." And then it's like, "Oh, cool. He's going around three now."
101:22>> Yeah. Round four. That's what happened to Warren. He just like It's like, "Oh, where was where was the slow play on
101:28this? Where was my chance to get in?"
101:30>> Yeah. you like, "Oh, you missed it. It was actually here the entire two months before."
101:34>> You had to hammer it. You had to absolutely hammer it. It's such a funny thing with the best stuff now is that
101:40like you I I need to It's tough because I I I was about to say I need to get better at it, but like some guys I'm
101:46like, "I'm just >> No, you're good.
101:47>> For this guy, and then like >> they're like, "Yeah, you're >> you're going to get Luther Burton actually even a couple rounds cheaper.
101:54you know, you're gonna you're gonna have just a gigabag of this guy now because you you were hammering at a price you
101:59thought was too cheap and then he falls.
102:00So, it's I don't know. It's just it's just a fun kind of tricky part of of the the market right now.
102:06>> Uh Ramside, Puka is >> Yep.
102:12>> He's got a 40% first target rate, which is like basically twice an elite rate.
102:20He's a double double an elite rate.
102:22Devonte Adams at 27%. He's nursing a hamstring injury. Reports are that he's going to play. Um 27% would have led the
102:30league last year easily in first target rate. He's at 30% target per out run.
102:34That's 98th percentile. Puka is at 43%.
102:37>> Uh just just insane stuff in terms of the concentration. It's always >> God bless Sean McVey.
102:42>> He's he's he's an amazing man. Uh please please don't call games. Keep coaching, buddy. Um, but yeah, I mean
102:51this is um pretty great spot for Puka.
102:54Pretty great spot for Puka and for Adams. Adams is going to have some ownership here, but maybe less because of the hamstring stuff. So, he's kind of
103:01a pivot if that, you know, keeps him in check. Um, but the Colts uh pass rush has not been good. Rams have not
103:09protected Stafford well, but uh one of the >> clean Yeah.
103:14>> Yeah. From a clean pocket, he's awesome.
103:16He's he's uh quarterback one in PFF uh passing grade, which is kind of a throw grade. So, it's like when it goes well,
103:24like when he's when he is able to when it's a Stafford pass, that's good. The issue is um when it's not a Stafford
103:31pass, things are not as there's it's not like he's terrible.
103:36He's quarterback 13 in EPA per game among quarterbacks with 100 plus drop backs. He's quarterback one though among those those quarterbacks in in passing
103:44grade. Um he's quarterback 12 in success rates. So >> the big thing is can they protect him and I think they can this week. Um which
103:52makes this a really strong matchup for for him and especially for his receivers.
103:56>> Yeah be without Kenny Moore who's been >> Yeah. They brought big lose boy Mike Hilton back.
104:04>> Yeah.
104:05>> So everywhere >> we've noted he's in the slot more. Uh that that could be be good for him.
104:10>> Yeah. I mean yeah it's just Shawn McY one. Can we get one target for this guy in the red zone? Like come on, man. Like
104:1740.
104:18>> They're giving him rushes. Like why why like he's a big guy. He gets open quickly.
104:23>> Like he should be good in the red zone.
104:24>> He should be awesome.
104:26>> Plus he's like a motion guy. Like you he's a huge like Yeah. He's he has a 45% target share outside the red zone. Like
104:32>> that's insane, man.
104:34>> I mean he has a 39% target share overall.
104:36>> Yeah. Yeah. That's Yeah. Well, he only has one red zone target. Uh the the Rams have thrown Rams have thrown nine passes
104:43into the actual end zone this year.
104:44Eight have gone to Devonte Adams. Uh the other one to Davis Allen. So like what?
104:49Come on. Like cuz McVey the the frustrating part about this like you can kind of almost like we talk about Lad
104:54and Zay and it kind of almost makes sense why those guys don't get design stuff in the red zone like for the
104:58archetype they are. But like >> McVey is can can seemingly like every big down it's like third and nine.
105:04You're like what are they going to do?
105:04I'm probably gonna throw the puka here and he'll dial up some [ __ ] and get him open and you're like right well we need
105:09touchdowns. Why don't just do that there? Like I'll just do the fun do the do the dial up.
105:14>> And also I'm not even sure it makes like Hunter Renfro gets like end zone targets. He gets open real quick on like
105:19the choice route stuff like why can't the choice route thing it seems like a pretty good >> endzone route. We're not we can't do
105:26that for >> for Puka.
105:28>> Yeah, we gota run fade.
105:31It just it is it is the only the only flying elitement if there even is one because he already set the record for
105:38target rate per outr run last year in a season and like he's got it's like 7% higher this year. It's like what what
105:47are we doing?
105:50>> What I think what we're doing is playing him in DFS Rich because I mean he scores touchdowns it's over. Like you had to
105:55have him.
105:56>> Oh my god. If he scored touchdowns, dude, he would break fantasy football.
106:00He would break fantasy football.
106:01>> That's just Yeah, it's absolutely wild.
106:04But yeah, that's it though. That's what we love it. We love it. Play the Rams make it real easy for us. That's what we
106:09love about him.
106:11>> And you know, Puka will be big big chalk this week.
106:15>> Who cares?
106:16>> Pretty good chalk.
106:17>> Pretty good chalk, I think. Yeah. Who cares? Well, because on DraftKings I said in week two, like when he came out
106:23in week one and they were moving in the slot and he had like that 50% target share on our other Shaw like he I was
106:28like until he's 9K I'm just like there's no way I'm not playing on DraftKings.
106:31And FanDuel ironically were like we'll just make him 9K >> like we don't care. We'll do it immediately. And DraftKings is like
106:37we'll just nudge him up. We'll just keep nudging him up. And it's like dude he should he should be 9K minimum on
106:42DraftKings on full PPR site.
106:45>> Yeah. 7,900.
106:48He's over a thousand underpriced >> in in a in a slate where we can we can find savings. So, >> and we can just play him. Like, it's not
106:54even hard. We can play him in McCaffrey.
106:56>> Yeah, that's probably what I'm going to do.
107:00I'm start my lineup with like 60% ownership with two players.
107:06>> Yeah.
107:06>> Yeah, I'm going to do it. You can't stop me.
107:09>> Nope.
107:09>> Um, >> drafting.
107:10>> But, yeah, I mean, Adams is I would love like a like an Adams in the teens. That that would be fun.
107:17I mean this the other thing that we talked about with like uh that Mitchell can unlock is like your onslaught in
107:22this game because that's how you can just play all the dudes in this game.
107:26>> This is this is an interesting onslaught game because you have like it it's you could do you could do stuff with the
107:33Colts like you could do like a Jones Warren Mitchell >> and then >> I mean you could also play Jones with
107:40Taylor I think because you can just you can buy every touchdown in the offense.
107:43I think >> I agree. Yeah, I think that's viable.
107:48>> This game has from a from a building stance like you just have so it's the the optionality is just it's a Pandora's
107:55box. This because this game you could this game could you could play all the chalk in this game and still find a way
107:59to stack it differently, >> right? Yeah, it's it's a fun one. I think um Puka is by far the most comfortable click. Uh but there are
108:10other really interesting pieces. Kairen Williams um he's only 6,300. I think he's actually kind of there's been some like the stuff with Williams. I mean
108:18Williams he hasn't been very good uh kind of for a while but he's he's like running back 18 in rush yards over
108:25expected per game.
108:26>> He's running back 15 in success rate and that's kind of been like you got a 45% success rate. That's good.
108:31>> It's kind of his whole deal. Doesn't really get used as a receiver. Um did score a touchdown but you know his
108:38target share 7% like it's not it's not good. 0.70 yards per run. Not good. But he's still at a 76% snap share, 68% of
108:49team attempts. Last week he was at a 76% snap share, 65% of team attempts. I'm not like real worried about Blake Corm
108:55or anything. Like it's still the same.
108:56It's the same thing it's been. It feels like people are a little bit less excited about Kairen. Um but I think
109:02like the the Colts run defense hasn't been good.
109:04>> No, that's where this game goes wrong is if it's a Kiran game.
109:09>> Yeah, but it could be a Kiran game. It could be. He's interesting. if Adams is like the, you know, isn't 100% and
109:17they're just kind of again because it's not going to be like Whittington and Atwell and these other guys or Higgby like it'll just be them running running
109:24the ball down the Colts throat. That would be the thing because they they actually opened up that way last week like they were running and and that is
109:31something that I uh I wrote about too in the matchups last week is like Vic Fangio's just been willing in these
109:36matchups against the Rams. So, um, Williams ran into a light box on 50% of his runs last week. The first two weeks
109:43it was 27.8% and 11.8%.
109:46Uh, and then Williams has five games the past two years of running into a light box 50% of the time. Three of those
109:52games are the Eagles games. Like Vicio's just it just let them kind of run in the like and so I'm curious to see how it
110:00plays out. Uh, >> because what's what's lo?
110:04>> Yeah. Aloo is one of those guys that mixes up. So like he hasn't Yeah. Like so we'll have to see what Big Lou does.
110:09But that's the one wild card of Big Lou is he always does something different with like his opponents. Sometimes it's dumb.
110:15>> Uh he always updates. He's done this before like right like taking away some random piece and you're just like why
110:22what was that about? Why >> we're not getting beat by two Atwell this week?
110:27>> It's just like weird stuff man. Like but he'll he mixes some stuff up. He'll do like games where he's like, I'm not not
110:33gonna I'm only going to rush three all game and just like play, you know, eight in coverage. That was like the Mahomes
110:38thing like I do against Mahomes. Like so it's very he's been he's like not as easy to predict like what he's going to
110:45do. Like some of these other guys like uh uh Averro like the Panthers defense coordin does the same thing every game.
110:51Just literally just this is the game plan. Patrick Graham from the Raiders who we're going to talk about just like what if we just keep doing the thing
110:57that hasn't worked for us. Okay, we like that though. Gus Bradley, who the Colts used to have, >> that's the opposite of what the Colts
111:04used to do because Gus Bradley would just be like, "This is what I do, >> right?
111:08>> This is what I do. This is the way we're going to play."
111:10>> I don't like that approach on offense.
111:12Love it on defense.
111:13>> Love it. You have have a core philosophy. Don't worry about like who's hurt or like if people don't fit your
111:18your scheme, that doesn't matter.
111:20>> Just do the same thing every week.
111:22>> Yeah.
111:23>> And whatever you're going to run post snap, show it. Show it ahead of time.
111:26>> Yes. Uh That's great, too.
111:31Um, all right. Let's uh I guess I'll note like this this game's kind of um we talked about it being a one to stack up.
111:39The Kiran angle would be the like this game fails. Some of my nervousness about like you know the Colts getting a little
111:45bit pushed off of the way they want to play with the pass rush and everything and and they kind of have a bit of a
111:50letown, which is coming at some point.
111:52Uh then then Kiran would maybe be the way to play this game flopping a little bit. Um Jaguars at 49ers. Uh this game
112:03could be fun, I think. Uh because Brock Pertie is back. Um is is Jawan Jennings going to play in this game or not?
112:10>> I just looked it up before you got to it and he is practicing right now.
112:14>> All right, that's fun.
112:17>> Yep. Um he's on the field and last time >> 25% of him in eliminator right now and two two weeks ago he missed all practice
112:25but Friday and played. So I would assume like this is good unless he has a step back during practice.
112:33>> All right. So that's that's nice. The uh the Jags defense has been better than expected. Uh they've been pretty good
112:39against the pass. They have a good pass rush uh with Josh Hines Allen. Uh not an amazing pass rush, but it's but it's
112:47decent and they've been really good in coverage. Uh but the numbers might be fraudulent here. Um they've they have faced the Panthers, they faced the
112:58Texans, they got a partial game from Joe Burrow and then Jake Browning just throwing to Jamar Chase constantly. Y >> and so this like could I look at Jaguars
113:09on paper it looks like a really really strong secondary paired with like a a decent pass rush but I think what they
113:16might be is a team that has a decent pass rush and then a secondary that's not actually very good and so we'll see
113:22but this is uh with back and Jennings back I kind of like this uh for the 49ers uh to to be efficient through the
113:30air but of course Christian McAffrey is is kind of the story here on the 49ers side. He's coming off 15 target game. He
113:36has a 30% target share. He's a 2.09 yards per hour run.
113:40>> It's it's all nuts. And then I also I dug into his um his rushing efficiency because right now he's running back 38
113:48in rush yards of expected per game, 41 or sorry 38 per attempt, 41 per game. Um running back 41 in rush yards of
113:55expected per game. Running back 37 with a 34% success rate.
114:00uh which is, you know, all pretty concerning. But go to week one, he posts minus 25 rush yards over expected, which
114:08is obviously very bad. And a 9% success rate, which is like off the charts bad.
114:13>> Weeks two through three, he's still negative in rush yards over expected, but it's minus 3 - 4. It's not like
114:18terrible. And then success rates of 62%, which is his lowest volume game. Uh and and a 47% mark last week. So, he's been
114:26good in terms of success rate over the last two weeks, he's 53%.
114:31Um, I think from the perspective of like if your approach to the slate is like McAffrey won't bury me. He's chalk and
114:39he won't bury me. Um, he'll just have like a good game, but like I can I can find ways to win if if McAffrey scores
114:45like 25.
114:46He could bury you. He could definitely definitely bury you here. Um because the rushing efficiency might actually just be kind of like the the week one uh
114:57might not matter in his f his first game back and it's it's doing a lot of work and kind of keeping his 2025 numbers
115:03looking bad when he might be he might be totally fine as a runner.
115:07>> Small sample. So >> yeah, >> um >> we'd love to see some explosives. We haven't seen any really in the run game.
115:13That's the one kind of thing lacking.
115:15The I mean the run blocking has been horrible. Uh Dominic Pun has been playing with a PCL injury because he was
115:20like the bright spot last year that they found him in the draft and he's been horrible uh these opening three games.
115:27He's playing hurt though. So I'll give him a little bit of benefit of the doubt. But I had the same notes as you
115:30that he had the league worst runs rate of runs over expectation in week one and that's what kind of killed the season
115:36stuff. But then week week two he was actually third. Uh again you said smaller sample and then last week he was
115:4112th. So like fine like that's fine.
115:45Yeah.
115:45>> He's kind of been fine actually. and and the run games where they've tried to like alleviate his workload a little bit
115:50because he's had to be used so heavily as a pass catcher. So there might be a point in the season where naturally this
115:56like he can't have a 30% target share.
115:58It feels just such a necessity though right now. Um maybe even comes down a little bit here, but like when I KD come
116:06back and like it's full field or full on like all the 49ers are back, it probably isn't as high. Uh, but that's when maybe
116:12you can see him maybe start to be utilized more as a runner because then now teams have to respect like, hey,
116:17they've got 49ers of all their dudes now. Like we have to respect the the the pass game now, too. So, we just won't
116:23know until that happens and it's going to still be we're weeks away from that even being a thing. So, we'll just keep
116:28riding this element out because we already seen two weeks ago even when Jennings played with Persaw, he still had like an an immense amount of usage
116:36in the passing game. And it's not like this checkdown stuff like they're flexing him out. He's running like stuff off motion. He's doing all kinds of
116:43stuff. Like Kyle's been in his bag using McAffrey as a receiver because he also knows the other team knows he's getting
116:48the ball and he's still able. It's the McVey Puka stuff. Like he's doing all the the the stuff we talked about McVey
116:54doing for Puka. He's doing that for McAffrey in the passing game.
116:58>> Yeah. He had a 19% target share two weeks ago. Ran uh 81% of the routes.
117:03Like he's a he's a receiver, man. He's just a straight up >> like underneath like kind of slot receiver basically. So, uh and then on
117:13top of that, you get the rushing work. I could totally see it like this week has a season low 16% target share uh and
117:20scores two touchdowns. Like he's I think Pertie being back is is a big deal.
117:25That's I'm very much of like Oh, yeah.
117:27Party. Pertie is a lot better than M.
117:28Jones. I I think it's a big deal >> to get Pertie back. Um and this Jaguars defense that's probably not very good.
117:35It was a defense we were targeting ahead of the season. They've overperformed expectations, but probably a lot related to the schedule. Uh so yeah, I I like
117:45the 49ers to put up a bunch of points this week. That's that's uh they have an implied team total of 25. I I would I'd
117:51probably take the over there. Um I would take the over there. The uh the Jaguars could be pushed, which is nice. Um,
118:02Trevor Lawrence has been like kind of straight up bad at this point, you'd have to say. I mean, he was mediocre the
118:07first couple weeks and then he was bad last week. Um, it's it's not great. The the completion percentage is actually what jumps out to me with him. 56%
118:18completion percentage. He has a minus 11% completion percentage over expected.
118:22I don't tend to spend a ton of time on on CPOE or completion percentage, but this is like a big outlier. This is like
118:28a Aaron uh Anthony Richardson uh level CPOE literally. Uh that's where he was.
118:34He was at - 11%. Last year, which was the league low.
118:38>> Trevor Lawrence was at minus 4%.
118:40>> It's all the Anthony Richardson stuff too cuz like Anthony Richardson had that conglomeration of drops and inaccurate throws. And that's
118:48like what's happening to Trevor Lawrence. Like cuz he is the league high the highest drop rate in the league at 11 and a half percent. But he's also
118:5418th in an accurate throw rate. and he's actually 21st in an accurate throw rate on throws 10 or more yards downfield. So
119:00it's like the marriage of everything has been the disa it's what's gone wrong.
119:05It's not just the guys are dropping the balls. He's they're dropping balls the ones he actually puts on target and then
119:10he's also not putting a lot of them on target.
119:12>> And he's been inaccurate. He was at minus 4% co CPOE last year which was uh after after Richardson and Rattler at
119:19minus 10 last year. Cooper Rush uh was at -6. Aaron Rogers was at -5 and then Lawrence was at minus4. So it it's a
119:26real thing. It's just like it's not going to be this bad uh for the rest of the year. So uh yeah, I mean I think he
119:34could be now it looks like Dami Brown will be out u which which has Parker Washington coming in. He's one of these
119:39guys I'm kind of intrigued by is like a uh kind of you know a punt uh reserve coming in. Um Brent Strange got a lot of
119:48work last week which is which is notable. Uh, I will note though, he still just has a 11% first read target
119:55rate and so I kind of a little harder to to count on. He was at just 10%.
120:00>> He's led the team in receiving two of the three games which I think says a lot more about this passing game than it
120:05does Brett Strange.
120:07>> I agree. Yeah, exactly. He's kind of a symptom of the passing game failing. So, if you're betting on the passing game
120:14succeeding, I think you want to play it through Brian Thomas and maybe even Parker Washington. But, uh, yeah, I this is this is an interesting setup because,
120:24um, you know, they they could really get pushed here. And the one thing they they have I the one thing I do kind of
120:30believe in them is that they've protected Lawrence really well. Uh, they're first in preventing quick pressure and first in preventing pressure. Um, and the 49ers lost Nick
120:40Bosa.
120:40>> Yeah.
120:41>> Uh, so that that'll be an issue. Now, they do they he's not their only uh edger. Bryce Huff has been has been
120:48pretty good actually. Uh 19th pass rush win rate. So it's not like they don't have any pass rush left, but maybe the Jags offensive line's pretty
120:56good. Um and maybe they get pushed and maybe Trevor Lawrence has some positive aggression in terms of completion percentage that that helps us out here.
121:05>> Yeah, we're going to need it.
121:08>> I mean, this is it's just so tough because, you know, Brian Thomas Jr. is clearly dealing with some kind of risk.
121:13I don't know the severity of it. I saw, you know, some tweets yesterday about, you know, this could be like this type
121:18of injury that I don't know anything about, so I'm not going to speculate, but he definitely doesn't look right.
121:22Uh, in terms of like >> No, he doesn't look right.
121:24>> Yeah. I mean, he was holding his like he was like holding his wrist like it's like in in a weird way. And then when we
121:31remove Brian Thomas, we still, you know, Liam Cohen's already said they're not going to change Travis Hunter's position. So, if Dami Brown's out,
121:38that's not going to change. And then like we've got to involve Parker Washington more. Like how exciting is that? Like for the offense is that
121:44that's definitely not a skeleton key. Uh uh u you look at I mean you can't have Parker Washington lead your team in
121:52targets like uh that's kind of the frustration of this passing game in total, right? On 600 career routes, he's averaging 1.04 yards per out run. Uh
122:00since he entered the league, that's 84th out of 98 receivers to run that many routes as him.
122:06It's just like this is the spot where I feel like we get some truth revealed about the Jaguars because they've been
122:11game like you know they obviously have week one they they dogw walk the Panthers. They could have had a real shot to beat the Bengals but like Jake
122:18Browning beats them in the 11th hour.
122:21They they they really don't do anything last week. The Texans just kind of beat themselves. Nico has that fumble and then it's like it feels like this is the
122:28spot where we kind of get some like the true version of the and they might be better than we all thought. That can
122:34also be true. But I feel like this is where we get some truth revealed of like they're not ready to punch up yet.
122:40>> That could definitely I don't think they're ready to punch up, but I think maybe they're ready to get pushed into, you know, a pass heavy
122:49script and and we get some garbage time a little bit. Um >> I also I would note that our um Twitter's uh resume on on risk diagnosis
122:59isn't isn't ideal. We did, remember when we did the the bottle flip last year with with Burrow?
123:05>> Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. Oh, man.
123:09>> We're not We're not >> How do we allow this to happen?
123:14>> I'm gonna be like, I'm sorry, but I'm gonna go I'm gonna fade uh wrist Twitter. I'm >> f I'll be I'll be like I said, I'm not a
123:22doctor. I don't know anything that's going like it was just really weird like the way he was like I don't know. I
123:29don't know what it meant. nothing.
123:31>> He has, you know, I've seen the the video he throws the football and he's like kind of grabbing the wrist and
123:35there's something going I'm not saying there's nothing going on, >> but he's >> we just don't know. Yeah, >> we just don't know. And uh he's still
123:41got he's got a 21% target rate, 18% first read target rate, 23% target share. Uh his yards per target is just
123:504.8. And so you're dealing with like weak per target efficiency, which could be related to him having a wrist injury.
123:56I'll grant you that. also like isn't sticky generally and so he might just be running bad. Maybe it is related somewhat to the wrist, but like I I'm
124:06getting by low Brian Thomas in a spot where we could have the Jags pass like 70 something% of the time. Uh if the
124:1349ers are as potent here as I think they will be. So they've peaked it with with just a 66% pass rate, which isn't low,
124:19but it's not like super high. So uh would love to see them push a bit.
124:23>> So I hope he does something.
124:26What what was what were what were our trade how did the trade age that we were doing last week? We were trading away
124:31somebody and I think >> Oh, we were talking about Jamar Chase.
124:34We were talking about Jamar Chase and now you can't trade Jamar Chase.
124:37>> You can't tra It's over. It's over.
124:39>> Uh but but uh I actually was able to I that's where I I traded for Brian Thomas this week. We basically it was a two QB
124:46league where um the gamer needed a quarterback and I had like four on my roster. So I uh traded him Kyler Murray
124:52and T. Higgins for Brian Thomas Jr. I was like, I'm just getting out of Tiggins the the business and I'll just
124:58see what happens.
125:01>> And before the like last two drives of last night's game, you must have been feeling amazing about that trade. Kyler
125:07looked completely lost.
125:08>> Yeah. And I Kyler was like one of those guys where um I actually wanted to dump him too because I I wanted to not be
125:15tempted into starting him in the future.
125:17Like do you do you know what I mean?
125:20Like I wanted to just I wanted to just him removed from my roster for the element of not talking myself into
125:25playing him and that was like I was like yeah I just I just want to be alleviated from this.
125:32>> I love that. Oh man. Um >> running game on the Jag side. Uh ETN had
125:3960 67% of the attempts last week. Um, I did note though that Laquin Allen was up to a 30% uh snap share in a game where they
125:49weren't even like in like negative game script exactly, but they they did pass uh with the highest rate they had all
125:54season. And if the Jags were to like lead in this game, I think we would probably see a decent amount of tootin,
126:01not to where you'd play them, but to where you might be worried about ETN.
126:03So, and ETN's been at 50 and 50% of carries, 52% of carries the first two weeks, man.
126:10>> Yeah. So fragile. My point is just ETN is fragile. Um >> yeah. Yeah. As I said, he's been sucking out and he got gifted the touchdown. The
126:19fact that you've lost red zone touches in like in game script two weeks in a row uh is a big deal because he could
126:27have come in after the pass interference on the first to touchdown and they did not choose to do so. Um >> which you love to see.
126:34>> Yes, you do love to see. So yeah, he's been he's he's the RB23 in expected points and is the RB9 in actual points
126:42>> like feels like this is a good spot where that comes to like that that starts to get closer together.
126:49>> Also the the why RB 23 in expected points. Let's let's go down maybe RB 33, you know. What about RB 43?
126:57>> Uh let's get let's get Tooten out there.
126:59Let me let me get Tooten. I've already got Judkins as a as a two running back on a bad team. Why not Tooten? Dot to
127:04miss a toot on right back on a bad team would also be fun. Um the uh the All right, let's go to the Ravens and
127:12Chiefs. Um so kind of want to get your thoughts on on a take I have here which is that um the Chiefs run defense
127:22doesn't look very good to me. And Derrick Henry has been pretty explosive still. His success rate's not been good.
127:31>> He's fumbling the ball. Uh he's losing games. That's not that's not great.
127:35>> Which he's never really done, so we shouldn't, you know, go crazy, >> right? No. Um but the Chiefs are are
127:41they're 29th in EPA against against the run. 29th in success rate, 22nd in DBOA.
127:48>> Hey, my son was cooking. My son on Sunday night, >> was he?
127:52>> Yeah. Scatter, baby.
127:56>> Oh, your You have a son. So, and you talked about watching.
128:00>> Oh, yeah. Yeah. So, I thought you were watching the game and he's making fun of the cheese.
128:03>> Oh, no. No. What's up?
128:06>> I I'm swerving into it. I'm swerving my head.
128:10>> Swerving to be Cam Scatabo's dad.
128:12>> Are you Cam Scataboo's dad?
128:17>> Um, >> I mean, my son is not much younger than Cam Scatabo, my oldest. So, >> I know. I knew your son. He graduated
128:26recently. What? When did he graduate from Arizona State?
128:32Um the uh yeah, the cheese cheese run event's been cooked by someone close to uh one of the co-hosts of this podcast.
128:41Um and yeah, Derrick Henry, I mean, he's still like every time I didn't I I faded Derrick Henry pretty hard in baseball
128:50and every time Derrick Henry touches the ball, I'm like, "Oh no, oh no." like he still looks if you don't get him down
128:56and they're dying at his feet and it's working a decent amount but when it doesn't work it's it's one of the
129:02scariest thing Derk Henry with like even not even a full head of steam just like 75% ramped up is like one of the
129:09scariest things because you know he's getting 100 pretty quickly and uh then you then you're screwed. Um so I I like
129:15Derrick Henry here. Uh and I looking at projections it doesn't seem like he's >> popular. Yeah, I don't think he's gonna
129:23be popular.
129:24>> What? Why not? Why aren't people into it?
129:27>> I think just probably the board and then just, you know, we've haven't seen him the last two weeks. Well, he was popular
129:33in week two and then didn't absolutely flamed. He wasn't on the slate and then he's getting kind of like dragged a
129:39little bit. So, but this would be kind of a spot to keep him because like you always care about just the the Ravens
129:44controlling games and they are favored here. It's the first time Mahomes has been uh a home dog in back-to-back games because he was two weeks ago against the
129:51Eagles they were dogs. Um you got the touchdown, the opening 30-yard touchdown from Henry. But since he's joined the Ravens, he's been on the field for 62%
130:00of snaps. Uh when they are tied or ahead and when trailing it goes to 46.6% and when Henry's on the field with the
130:07Ravens, they've run the ball 61.4% of the time it just flips on its head. When they're he's off the field, they throw
130:1263.8% of the time. Um, so it's just all about game script with him. And if you get the game script that's implied, we'd
130:20assume that he's got chances to to pop some. And this is where you want to have Derrick Henry. You never want to be on a
130:25chalk Derrick Henry.
130:26>> No, >> it's like, you know, cuz he's the guy that's going to drop you the 80 yard touchdown run. You want it to matter.
130:31Uh, this is this would be the spot to take some shots on him. You're not wrong.
130:37>> Yeah. I mean, his it it's it is a fragile play because I mean, they can pull him off.
130:43>> That's what you're calling it, though.
130:44like you're you're it's sing you know large field like nobody's playing this dude this week.
130:51>> Yeah.
130:52>> Which which I'm into.
130:54>> Yeah. I mean the the other thing that I'd note here with kind of the the game script and sort of how how these teams
131:01want to play. Lamar Jackson has a 32% pressure to sack rate right now which is the highest in the league. He's he's
131:09getting he's dealing with pressure. He has a long time to throw, which is pretty typical. He is throwing deep and and and like kind of making use of that
131:18time and and taking on pressure and taking on sacks, but you know, we're getting something out of that. He he's been fun, but it's like kind of this
131:26this style that I don't think the Ravens can be completely happy with, right?
131:31Like they don't want Lamar getting sacked like this. They get a pretty weak Chiefs uh defense. You also have the the
131:39Chiefs have been getting run against.
131:41They they have opponents have just a 60% pass rate against them, a minus 3% proe, a 4% shift in proe to the run. So with
131:50the Chiefs not getting the respect that they've typically gotten on on offense and just not been as good as as they
131:56usually are on offense, opponents have been able to run. And I think this is a spot where like, hey, you're going to
132:03give me a weak run defense. We can kind of get back to the way we want to play.
132:07The Ravens had a 46% pass rate against the Bills in week one and led, you know, the vast majority of that game. Then
132:13they can't get Derrick Henry going against a good Cleveland run defense.
132:15They pass 67% of the time. They're trailing against the Lions that pass 70% of the time. But I think they want to be
132:21that team in week one. Like that's that's who they're built to be.
132:25>> Oh yeah. Big picture.
132:26>> Yeah. Big picture. And they can get back to that here, I think. Um not a guarantee because the Chiefs will have
132:32Worthy back and the Ravens have a bunch of injuries on the defensive side. So maybe this just becomes a shootout and
132:37then Henry uh probably doesn't get there. But um if if the Raven like the Ravens want Derrick Henry to have a big
132:45game here, I think and and we'll I think view this as a spot where where that's like, you know, a plan a type of
132:52approach.
132:54>> Um what are your thoughts though on the Chief side?
132:56>> Yeah, I mean we just need the Chiefs offense to do anything like so for it to be the opposite, right? To be like kind
133:02of one of those games that hits the stone. This game feels like such an under. Like I don't know why this total
133:06like I keep looking at this total like why is this total so high? Maybe just because the Ravens, right? Like the
133:10Ravens are dragging it up because they just score so many damn points and it doesn't matter. But like I was looking
133:15at this total like man how like the Chiefs better show something here. And I know Worthy is coming back in some
133:19capacity. But Mahomes has thrown for 6.6 yards per attempt in every game or lower. Uh he's 28th in completion rate.
133:27He's number one in the NFL in inaccurate throw rate right now. Um because the Chiefs have stuck to their plan like
133:33they told us they're going to do all offseason. They're like we want to throw the ball downfield this year >> and they've done that. He's eighth in
133:40area or pass attempt. He's seventh in deep throw rate. That's the highest rate since 2018 for him in both areas. The
133:46problem is he's only completed four of those 15 passes. Uh which is, you know, not good. Well, because their best their
133:53best pass catcher is Taekwon freaking Thornton. Like >> it's it's this is and they can't run.
133:59The backfield's a mess. Like it's, you know, like you, yes, you do get the success rate stuff from Kareem Hunt, but
134:06it >> but it's the stuff that is just manipulating success rate. It's not, he's not giving you any explosives. He's not,
134:12>> right?
134:13>> Uh, Pacheco feels like the number one roster clogger you could have in reddraft leagues right now because you're never going to want to cut this
134:20guy. He's has no role to score touchdowns with Kareem Hunt. He's not catching any passes. I I mean he just feels like a guy you you like he you
134:28need to do the Kyler Murray thing with me like like you need to get him off your roster just to feel better like
134:34>> trade him for Parker Washington just to get him off there >> just to remove him. He has the he has a
134:39toucher target on 29.2% of his snaps.
134:42The only running back that's played as many snaps than him a lower rate is Jerome Ford. Like like Isaiah Pacheco is
134:49Kansas City Jerome Ford is like basically what I just said. Like >> I I think I think if you could have
134:56Jerome Ford on the Chiefs, I would be more excited about Jerome Ford.
135:00>> If you just if they if they traded them in real life, I'd be like Jerome Ford >> might be able to do something here.
135:06>> Yeah, man. So I mean he he he looks like the number one roster clogger right now in re >> 100% 100%.
135:13>> It's been it's been so bad. Yeah, because it's also >> it's the it's >> it's the Hunt stuff. I mean, Hunt's
135:20stealing like they Hunt has 7.1 expected points per 7.2 expected points per game and PC was at 7.1. So, you're dealing
135:29with like if if there was no Hunt, this would be pretty cool. You know, he'd probably be only scoring like
135:40>> 11 12 points and but that's better than the 4.8 he's actually averaging. Um, but yeah, it's the split. It's the split
135:48workload with no explosiveness. Uh, he's yet to have a breakaway run. Neither does Hunt. And if you look at rush yards
135:55over expected, Hunt's been better actually than Pacheco. So, the the Pacheco is like a worse version of Hunt right now. He's got a 55 52% success
136:06rate to to Hunt's 59. He's running back 29 in rush yards over expected. Hunt's running back 23. So, maybe they should just play Hunt more,
136:15you know?
136:16It's not good. It's really not good.
136:19>> Yeah, it's rough. I don't know what to expect out of the the worthy stuff. I think everyone's flying blind. If you
136:24want to if you do play him, I get it because it's one of those things like we talked about with Henderson, like if he
136:29ends up just being like having like a full route participation and they're doing the thing where they're running the offense through him again because
136:35Taekquin is getting some respect downfield, then you'll be ahead of the field because everyone's gonna be scared this week and then you will be able to
136:43put it back in the bottle again.
136:44Everyone will know. So, I do understand that element of like large field, you're just going to take a shot. I do like I
136:49do kind of like Thornton here though as just like a base play through this game.
136:53Uh because I think no matter what he's still going to because I think even if Worthy I think if Worthy comes back he's
136:58going to be in like the role where he's still getting like 30 to 40% slot snaps and not just deep stuff like he's not
137:04just going to come back and be like a a downfield decoy I don't think. But Thornton is also gonna be able to get
137:10those deep shots. And the Ravens have really struggled against the kind of vertical throws and they play a ton of man coverage, which has kind of been
137:16where he's been getting like the like Mahomes has just been willing to give him a shot. And uh like he has a 29%
137:22target rate against man coverage, 13% rate against zone. But also, I did like the way his role grew on Sunday night.
137:27They actually ran more regular receiver stuff through him instead of just the downfield stuff. like they kind of had like religion of like what if this dude
137:35actually is like okay and like he's better than Hollywood Brown because I think what is gonna happen eventually when Rice comes back is Hollywood's
137:41going to find himself on the outside and Thorton Thornton's going to be Justin Watson but with more targets >> like like that role
137:49>> that's I love that comp that's that is what he's going to be >> and then Rice is and then Rice is gonna
137:55feast if that's the case because if Thornton is is Justin Watson while getting targets then and Worthy's back like Rice is going to destroy the middle
138:03of the field. Like he's going to absolutely walk back into like a nuclear spot.
138:08>> I have teams that are like borderline like that aren't advancing right now, but are close in in baseball. And uh
138:14like I've got a 555 team. I'm not checking like every fifth place team, but like I've got a 555 team that's like
138:19in like fourth place, >> but reasonably close to second uh that has Rice. And I'm just like hang on, baby. Hang on.
138:28Just a couple more weeks and we're going to get some serious rein. Rice is going to crush. Like he's he's like
138:34>> probably like number one guy on >> Yeah. I think we took the wrong signal from week one with Hollywood. the a lot
138:41of people looked at Hollywood like he got 16 targets and we didn't look at as like he got 16 targets and had 99 yards
138:48like like and then one was and then one was a 45 yard catch that Mahomes adlib like like a mahomesian play and it's
138:55just like the signal should have been like Hollywood's still probably not that good >> like this this might be like a problem
139:01still >> the other thing is that I noted that you know in week one he was kind of filling in for the Xavier worthy role but he he
139:09didn't face much double coverage. So, he kind of got the best of both worlds where it's like you're getting the Xavier Worthy game plan. Like, they
139:15clearly had a bunch of first reads designed for Xavier Worthy and then they're like, "Well, you got to go somewhere and they went to Hollywood
139:20Brown." Um, and but he wasn't really getting double covered. And then the Eagles did use double coverage against him. Um, but he was only at 30% and
139:31Taekwon Thornton was at 43% in that game and Thornton outproduced him in week two. And then Brown was down to just 21%
139:39double coverage. uh last week with Thornton um ahead of him again and leaving leading the team or they sorry they they tied they both had 21% last
139:48week but Thorton outproduced him and uh yeah I think Thornton's probably just better to be honest so uh Davis Madak was was talking about Thornton this week
139:57too and I he hadn't really been on my radar as an actual play because I was my read was was that until Rice is back
140:05we'll probably just see like a rotation um behind well with including including Worthy because he's not going to obviously say have full routes. So my
140:12guess is that we kind of see Brown, Thornton, Guju, and Worthy kind of like mixing in around like the 70 to you know
140:2080ish% range and but that no one like no one's above 80. Um but yeah, Thornton I mean he's got 25.2 A dot. Um and he's
140:31handling a ton of double coverage and still getting targeted. So, >> well, last week they kind of built they were like the first two weeks the whole
140:38plane was built out of out of the prairie yards with Taekquin Thornton and last week it kind of shifted where he
140:43was like actually used as a wide receiver. You know, he had the nine target game but like uh >> so first two weeks 75 and 80% of his
140:51targets are 20 or more yards downfield.
140:53It was 44% last week. Still very high but cut in half. Uh, and then he had but so he had 33% of his targets like within
141:0110 yards of the line of scrimmage, which he didn't have access to those targets, which are a little more floor appealing.
141:07Now, will he have those if Worthy comes back? That's where we're flying blind.
141:10>> But the one thing, as bad as it's gone for the Chiefs, they still are throwing the ball. So, like, we know they're
141:15going to still drop back. That's why like I still want to nibble on some of these guys if the game can get here and
141:20the Ravens can just drag them uh up into like a a high-scoring game because the Ravens are capable of doing that.
141:26seemingly against everyone. So, but they because they the Chiefs a neutral game script 69% drop back rate, you know, like >> Yep.
141:35>> even as bad as it's gone, they know like Andy Reed's like player.
141:39>> Yeah, that's the problem. And that's what this matchup in particular is frustrating because they can't do what the Lions did on Monday night with the
141:46absence of Venoi and Nam Di Marabuki.
141:49They just they're not going to line up and run for 200 yards, man. Like, >> yeah. What are your thoughts? because
141:55it's they're also out uh another defensive lineman. Um they're down those two plus >> Yeah. I just feel like that's just you
142:02pass rush more, right? Like it's I don't expect the Chiefs to be able to just line up and run the football. But maybe
142:07>> Yeah. Broad Washington.
142:11>> Uh sorry, what were you saying?
142:14>> No, I was just Yeah, I just even with the absences, it's just hard to see the Chiefs like having like a game where
142:18they go for like 150 rushing yards. Like >> if they go for 150 rushing yards, it's cuz Mahomes has like 89,
142:26>> right? I was just Yeah, I meant like the running backs like the tough part about Mahomes too is like, you know, for two
142:32weeks I was writing it up. I was like, dude, this dude's scrambling and it's fun, but like when he has a game where
142:38he doesn't scramble, like we're going to see where the fantasy floor is.
142:41>> Mhm.
142:41>> And we got it. We unfortunately got it last week. Like so like you're really contingent on him creating a lot with
142:47his legs. And that's even though he he was doing it like out of necessity, it's hard to say like how stable it is that
142:54from a projection stance like it's going to be.
142:58>> Yeah. Yeah. I like that our our read on this game is that it's probably going under and that Derrick Henry's
143:05underplayed unless Taekquin Thordon goes off. unless I don't know. Listen, you could do Derrick Henry with Ta Taekwon is cheap enough to help you pay for Derrick
143:14Henry. So, >> yeah.
143:17>> But I don't mind doing the worthy stuff.
143:19I'll probably at least make one worthy lineup just because, right? Like it he's not going to be popular just because so
143:26many people are going to be scared. And I granted I think the probable outcome is he doesn't like this high risk and
143:31doesn't get a lot of usage. But in the one outcome he does, I don't want to be saying like I did. I sat on my hands.
143:38He's not on the injury report. It's It's such a tricky one to figure out.
143:42>> It is. Well, he's playing with a torn labum. Like, is there is there evidence of like a dude like playing and like
143:48he's also a guy that like isn't a Clasher and stuff, too. So, like it's really weird. It's just like it's it's
143:54just tough one to get through.
143:57>> Yeah. I mean, there's there's real decoy risk, I think. you know, where it's like he >> absolutely absolutely
144:09>> he can't he can't like lift like how good is he doing this?
144:13>> Can he do this? Well, you know, he might not he might not be able to like he he tore his labum.
144:19>> Yes, >> it it could be a pretty big problem. So, but he's still super fast and they they really need to think to open up the
144:27passing game. So, like >> I mean you can catch a ball like this if you're running really fast.
144:30>> You can if you run fast enough you can you don't have to raise your arms.
144:34That's that's what they're telling them.
144:35just runs >> although although like we said we need Mahomes to put it on him.
144:38>> We do. Yeah, we do. What's >> cuz that throw like that catch that Taekquin had on one of these four deep
144:44balls he's completed was like it wasn't like that was an insane catch like >> Yeah. Yeah.
144:51I Yeah. God. Taquan Thornton.
144:54>> What a world like this like and you know what the Chiefs like the Chiefs roster construction I don't want to say they
144:59made this bed but they made this bed like >> No, they did. I mean >> Thornton was cut by the Patriots. Juju
145:04was cut by the Patriots. Like how are you starting both of these guys? It's crazy. You got Hunt the Cast off from
145:11the Browns. Like he's clearly washed.
145:14Pacheco like you had. So PCO was a bridge to something, right? And they never >> you can't you can't predict the injuries
145:20like worthy like Travis Kelce smoking worthy like like friendly fire like just nuking one of your best receivers again who clearly was going to be a part of
145:28like the early season game plan. But you knew the you knew the right suspension was something that was going to drop
145:33eventually. And then you knew what you had in this back field and they didn't really like put resources to either of
145:39those.
145:40>> It's such a deep running back class. I know they they got >> uh short but like >> it's not I mean he was a seventh round
145:49pick like there was a there was a opportunity to add somebody >> before that. One of the many teams I really wish could have drafted DJ
145:56Giddens. you you guys couldn't draft DJ Giddens. That was fifth round was was too much for you.
146:04Little frustrating. Um but yeah, the uh Pacheco looks he looks pretty washed now. Didn't take that long. Stomp the ground too hard was my joke in the
146:13walkthrough when his legs gave up.
146:15>> Yeah. Well, I always thought like Gretch's original quote like years ago like you know how there's players that make like effort look easy or like does
146:23it show like it's like no this is the absolute >> the least smooth player. Yeah.
146:30>> Um not a glider.
146:32>> Uh Bears Bears at Raiders uh closing it out with this game. Um we've got I don't know where where do you want to take us
146:41to where you want to start here because this this game's kind of fun on both sides. Absolutely. This is the vertical
146:46passing delight. The Raiders lead the NFL in pass plays of 20 or more yards.
146:51Bears are third. Bears actually lead the NFL in pass plays of 30 or more yards.
146:54Well, both of these teams suck at defending the vertical pass. Like we talked like uh with Marriott. It's like kind of like the perfect storm here,
147:02right? So, uh yeah. So, defensively, the Raiders are allowing a 61% completion rate on throws 10 or more yards downfield. That's 29th. 29th in yards
147:10per attempt. A lot on those throws.
147:12Bears are dead last in that category, allowing a 70% completion rate, 17 uh yards or pass up in those throws. Even
147:18the Cowboys got there against the Bears last week, even though it didn't end up in the uh the final box score. Uh but
147:25the against those passes, you know, they were eight of 12 on those on the throws 10 or more yards downfield. They punted
147:32only on two of their opening six drives.
147:34They were in Chicago territory on seven of their opening nine possessions. It's just that they pissed all over their legs. They had two turnovers in the red
147:41zone. Uh Judge Vonte Williams had that fumble stripped which was a great defensive play. They had that fumble stripped out of them. Uh and but they
147:48were move they were marching. They just didn't finish drives. So I would go right back to like the Raiders side of
147:54this being good. Obviously we're initially going back to the Caleb side because of the pressure stuff. Like if if you're if Caleb's not going to be
148:00pressured, this is where you want him.
148:02Uh he wasn't pressured last week. Uh he was pressured only 27% of dropbacks. His lowest rate since week 12 of last year.
148:09It was the first time he wasn't sacked in a game in his career. So, put that uh on your cap, Cowboys and Jerry, and your
148:15defensive like Yeah. So, >> but the Raiders are 20th in pressure rate. And when the Raiders don't get pressure, uh they've allowed a 75%
148:23completion rate, which is 23rd, eight yards for pass, which is 26th. So, it's just like go back to Caleb, go back to
148:30the Bears, go back to, you know, Patrick Graham is going to do the same thing.
148:34Like, they're number one in the NFL in rate of cover three. uh 56% of their defensive snaps against cover three so
148:40far to open the season. Caleb is uh fifth in YPA, second in touchdown rate.
148:45It's just go right back to Caleb Rome.
148:47Uh the interesting piece here I think here and see what you think about it is uh is is Cole KD a sneaky guy on the
148:53slate with Cole Lovelin being out because he's like a guy like he has two touchdown like games on his resume.
149:01>> Yeah, it's been a lot of empty routes so far. Oh yeah. Um, that's that's the concern to me with KT. Uh, 80 or not
149:09even 80, 76% route participation. Um, and he's he's at a target per run of just 8% 8% target share. Uh, 0.81 yards
149:19per route run. So, it's been pretty pretty rough for Cole KT. Uh, that that would be the concern there. But, I mean,
149:27if you're stacking up this game, I don't think it's crazy. Rome jumps out. I mean, he's the guy. Um what from the
149:35coverage perspective where where are you at because you've been kind of noting uh it was like a Dunay and then DJ Moore.
149:40Are we back to a dunce here coverage-wise?
149:42>> Yeah, he leads the team against those those looks and then we've seen even last week with DJ Moore and a spot like
149:48he sucked out with a touchdown but like he's just not getting targets right now.
149:53Um that's you know it's he's on the field a ton like that's cool but like right now >> he has a seven% first ret target rate
150:01which is horrendous >> because I played him a little bit last week kind of hoping I can catch a piece of it and like he caught a touch but it
150:06didn't matter. It was you know it didn't even matter >> um even with the touchdown. So he the targets have him in there uh uh target
150:13shares under 20% every game.
150:15>> Yep.
150:16>> So >> it's also dropped in the first he was at 11% week one then five and then four. um they're using him a little out of the
150:22back field. He had 10% of the attempts last week, 12% in week one. Um but as an actual receiver, the position that he
150:30plays, uh not not good. And then I I don't think it's great for him that Luther Burden is starting to get a
150:37little worked in. Not that Burden's playable at all, but um you know, Burden was comped to DJ Moore in the pre-draft
150:42process. Like that was one of when people it's like Percy Harvin and DJ Moore and that kind of player. My my
150:48most frustrating Luther Burden take was that they everyone just kept talking about being a slot receiver and he's he's actually worse in the slot. He's
150:56better downfield. Like he's a really he my profile is like he is excellent at creating separation and getting vertical. He's terrible against like
151:04zone coverages. He has no feel for space and he's not a great route runner. But man like this dude can just create
151:09vertical separation. And like we saw like obviously the worst flee flicker pitch I've ever seen by DeAndre Swift too. It was so bad that I think it
151:16actually like helped the timing of the play. It was But he It's like he was trying to do an alleyoop like
151:22>> Yeah.
151:24>> Yeah. You could you could have dunked it. It would have been >> But I've always thought that like Burton was more of a threat to play more
151:29outside in the NFL than people thought.
151:31Like a lot of people just a lot of people just handled him as like the slot only prospect and I was like I don't
151:35know man. And then Harmon put out his work and like because Harmon Harman's lot he puts a lot more research into it
151:40than I do. Like he's watching and he Harmon kind of >> uke right?
151:44>> Yeah. He had like the kind of the same thing. I was like, "Oh, cool. I feel good about this now." But like Yeah.
151:48Yeah. I've always thought that like let's not just pigeon holes dude as a slot dependent player.
151:54>> No, I I agree. I don't I I mean this is all to kind of say that um it doesn't look great for for DJ Moore.
152:01>> Yeah. Right.
152:02>> Uh so yeah, I'm uh I'm definitely not that interested in him here. This is going to be chalky though. I would I
152:11will say uh you know we're gonna have to have to worry >> um yeah to the extent that that we are
152:17worried about that I mean it's it's definitely there's gonna be some ownership on on the bear stuff I think.
152:22Um, >> yeah, those two. I was just trying.
152:24Yeah, I was wondering if I just You just I iso it and you just say, "Hey, I don't care. I'm just going to play the one guy
152:29and then some ancillary guys score.
152:30That's fine." Or try to mix in like KT with a double to try to get a little cute. But >> yeah, I think
152:39>> the Raider side's probably the most nuanced because >> of the biggest is going to be Jacobe Myers, I think.
152:47>> Yeah. And then you've and you've got uh Bowers looks excellent play because if Bowers is just going to be on the field
152:53with Meyer being out uh 95% of the time and not even on the practice report this week, uh like [ __ ] I'll take my
153:00chances. Like I don't give like let's see what happens. Like and then and then Tucker I know has like he's not going to
153:07have the the three touchdown game, but like there's a ton of signal for him here too. Yeah, Bowers is it's it's one of in my heart
153:17of hearts.
153:17>> Do you feel like do you do you feel like you're just too close to the Bowers thing? Is that the thing?
153:21>> I don't even think I'm too close. I think like deep down I think it's we're probably a week or two away where like
153:31you know I was looking I I uh was watching uh Deepak Chona had a video where he breaks down all the injuries
153:38and he was saying he he thinks this is a buy low window for Bowers because basically like this is an injury he's
153:43playing through that will like heal over time >> but he's like not 100% healthy yet but like he's not making it worse by playing
153:50on it so he's playing on it. Um, and we're probably like we're probably a couple weeks away. You watch him out
153:56there. He he doesn't look like Brock Bowers since the injury. It it looks a little slow and there's certain two weeks ago I I was watching, you know,
154:03Gino Smith. It seemed like he was the Bowowers was the first read and Smith is kind of like sitting like waiting and
154:09it's it's not coming open as quickly as it should and it's because like I think he's a step slow right now. So that's
154:15like my kind of the truth serum take is that I think Bowers probably isn't ready to like really crush this matchup. But
154:24like this matchup is so good. So good.
154:27Like it's not even that the Bears defense, you know, has no pass rush and is terrible in coverage. But then the
154:34the Bears starters that might be out. I haven't checked the injury report uh for them, but but as of yesterday was Jaylen
154:40Johnson, quarterback will definitely be out.
154:42>> He's on injured reserve. But then Kyler Gordon, TJ Edwards, and Grady Jarrett were all back-to-back DMPS to start the week. So there's they're like a cluster
154:52of injuries on the worst defense arguably in the whole league.
154:56>> Um so uh Kyler Gordon got in a limited practice today. Grady Jarrett, another DNP.
155:03>> Um Edwards was also DNP. So maybe they have Gordon. But yeah, it's uh God, like I just so want him to be healthy enough
155:13to take advantage. Like if he's 90% health, he he he crushes here, right?
155:17Like but he's it feels like he's been kind of at like 70ish. Um and so that that's my worry with Powers, but I think
155:23ultimately I am going to take like this is an an emotional game, right? It's like, "Oh man, I had that a couple weeks
155:30ago. I had a golf lineup that I that I like didn't end up getting in and would have crushed and, you know, thought
155:36about that for like three days."
155:38>> If Bowers crushes this week, I do have a lot of baseball bags, but um >> yeah, >> it's not just that like I I would have
155:46sat out a big week. It sounds like like all my friends are going to be on Bowers.
155:53>> I'm not gonna be the guy.
155:54>> Yeah, I was the guy not drafting Bowers.
155:55It's like Yeah.
155:57>> Yeah. You're embarrassed now. So, yeah, I probably end up playing some Bowers.
156:02>> Yeah, I mean I I think it's me. I I think I have it down to three and then maybe uh I'm debating between KT and
156:09Hunter Henry, but I was thinking Bowowers, you know, Tyler Warren, Jawan as being my three kind of core guys.
156:16>> I I like that core. I like that core a lot.
156:18>> And then just debating, you know, Hunter Henry versus KT as like the punt depending on how much Caleb I play. But
156:24>> yeah. Yeah, >> we'll kind of see. That's kind of where I was. But the Raiders like you do have because you can't play all these. Like
156:29they all aren't going to get there. It's the freaking Raiders. Like not everyone is like not everyone's coming along for this ride. Um and that's what makes them
156:37interesting. But the other guys all have like it's it's hard. Everyone has a great matchup. Like uh like individual signal. It's like one thing like when
156:44you have these defensive matchups and you go under the hood and you're like, "All right, well a clear signal for this
156:48guy." Like go like every single guy.
156:51It's just like cuz the Bear Dear has been murdered by slot receivers. Like absolutely crushed. Uh 31st in yards to target the slot receivers, 25th to catch
157:00rate. They've all had four touchdowns to slot receivers. So it's like oh yeah, Meyers looks amazing. Uh then we talked about all the down I led with all the
157:06downfield stuff like the Tucker is the downfield guy and Tucker it's not even one game. Like he had eight targets the
157:13week before.
157:14>> He's on the field for 95% of the drop backs. Like >> he's 12th in routes run among receivers.
157:20Like it's it's easy to say like, "Yeah, you defade him off the game." Yeah. Yes, I get that to the degree. But it's like
157:26he's 4200. Like >> he's gonna get shot plays against in a game that could just be a bonanza. Like it all makes sense. Like I get it. I get
157:33it. Like it's just like JT is the wild card here because if he's going to be 20 to 25% owned, which is what he looks
157:40like at the open the week, I don't know how I don't know how I could play him. If he if he drags me, so
157:46be it. because it's not just a matchup because he's had three bad matchups and this is a good one.
157:51>> It's the fact that his us like no receiving role right now like none >> it's they cut it week one he did and
158:00they just axed it. They just completely cut him out like he's he's like he's not playing in these passing on any passing
158:06downs.
158:08>> Well, he was at 47% routes last week uh is what I have after 38 in week two. So, he jumped he wasn't targeted.
158:14>> Yeah. Yeah. But um >> he's got five catches for three yards uh through three games.
158:19>> He has he has 0.05 yards per out run.
158:23That's not good. Um yeah, the Genty stuff I think the Gent is sort of a bet against the game as I see it.
158:30>> That's why that's But yeah, >> uh the Raiders could kind of like self-own here where um >> they had a 55% pass rate against the
158:42Commanders. Uh that was 16% below expected. They had a a minus 10% proe on first and 10. Uh listening to on the
158:53road world pod, they're recapping the game and they're just like they were just burning first downs like just setting in one like there's there was no
159:00they ran on fourth and one with lobby out of play like >> pretty good for a for a takecast guest.
159:11Um, yeah. I think Genty really you're betting I think the way he pays off is like this this game just isn't as fun as
159:18we're hoping and the Raiders just lean into the run. The the passing game has been concerning for the Raider. Like you
159:27you do have the the Trey Tucker stuff, but like Gino's >> it's been all or nothing.
159:31>> It's been all or nothing. Like his success rate has been really bad the last couple weeks. His time to throw is
159:373.2 seconds. That's super long. Um, and then he's also like his first read attempts are low. His first read completions are low. The the issue that
159:46I was talking about with Cam Ward where he's not seeing a second read and the plays ending. That's he's at the he's
159:52tied for the second highest rate there.
159:54Um, and so it's just like an offense that is not like what you're seeing is like the first read like isn't working
159:59out at a high rate and it's taking forever. So, you kind of need a bad secondary and a bad pass rush, which he
160:09gets here. So, there it's like it's a really really good matchup, really really good get right spot for this offense. Um,
160:18but you know, you are betting on an offense that's like outside of some bright spots kind of sucked. that that's the if you know and so if if this ends
160:29up being like big chalk on Jacobe Meyers, big chalk on Jenty, I definitely wouldn't be like wanting to play Genty with the other pieces. I think he's
160:37specifically would be if I'm going to eat chalk on him, which I probably won't, but if I were, it would be to bet
160:42against this game um where where there's a decent amount of other chalk. Uh and and just kind of how I see it playing
160:50out. I I I guess I'm skeptical that the Raiders are like so awesome in this game that they're like putting up points
160:56through the air and Genty's having a breakout. Like I don't know. I I guess it >> Yeah, I feel like the matchup's good
161:03enough. But >> yeah, I feel like the outcome is the Bears get up early, force the Raiders throw, and then we get the then that's
161:13when we start to get the passing stuff like something like it opens up like I don't know 217 or something like that.
161:20213 the Bears are cooking. Uh they're indoors and then you know the Raiders are forced to come and just do kind of
161:27the similar things that they were forced to do uh last week. But they did have the game against the Patriots where they
161:33just passed ahead and were good. So maybe we get that too. But I I expected though when I rode up this game, it was
161:40one of the first games I did. Uh and I expected to be into JT. It was ironic.
161:45And then when we flipped the cards over on Wednesday on the first DFS show I did, I was like, "Holy [ __ ] like
161:49everyone wants to play JTY." Like now, like I thought like I would be like the dude that would play him at like 10%.
161:55And now they 20 25. Like you said, it's a bet against the game. It's not even that I'm down like on this potentially
162:01being his best out. It absolutely is.
162:03But I don't want to play this type of player that's not catching any passes and potentially not even on it. We don't
162:08even seem we don't even know if they can take advantage of a good matchup yet with the right >> like we don't even know if that
162:14>> offensive line sucks. Their offensive line sucks. So >> the the what is it? Uh uh on his on his So he has 47 runs. He's been hit at or
162:24behind the line on 32 of them. Like this is like what are we doing?
162:30>> I honestly like so the Bears they're 26th in rushing DVA, 23rd in EPA, 28th in rushing success rate. So the defense
162:38>> is really bad. But the Raiders are 31st, 31st and 31st. Like they're they're worse if you're looking who's who's like
162:46more excited about matchup. Who who is this a get right spot for? The Bears run defense.
162:51>> Probably get right.
162:53>> Yeah. So I don't know.
162:54>> Probably.
162:56a gent genty chalk is we've leveled up too like I know we're we're getting better but let's let's take one level
163:03down in in DFS and maybe move over a little and >> I know price I know price has something to do with it but so right now like
163:11where I'm looking at like he so on FanDuel he's only 200 uh more less than Omar and Hampton Omar and Hampton is
163:207,000 and JY 68 why is their ownership that wide like what is that $200 $1 getting you that the ownership to be
163:27should be >> it's a famously loose pricing structure over there.
163:32>> Yeah. What do you >> Let me look at Let me look at DraftKings at that where I'm at. Uh because again
163:39uh on DraftKings, Hampton's cheaper.
163:41Hampton's cheaper than Genty.
163:43>> It's crazy, man.
163:45>> There's no reason to play Genty as as Chenty should be a lowown pivot.
163:52>> Yes. Yes.
163:57and he might drag us, but like it just feels like such a a play. Like there's no like it just shouldn't be this high
164:02is all I'm saying.
164:04>> Like why are all these Raiders this high? And I get like why we just made the case, but like we they all can't get
164:09there. Like the Raiders aren't that type of team. Like >> they aren't. I I like it from the Chicago side better. I think that Caleb
164:16I trust more. It's, you know, crazy as this. But like this dude, I know who he is and like he has
164:24>> he has a high ceiling. Like if he if he's able to play his type of ball, which has some real limitations and is
164:31not like a consistent way to win in the NFL right now, but if he can do it, it's it's awesome. He he as long as he has
164:41time to throw, which he has a 3.13 second time to throw, which is also crazy long. As long as, you know, he can
164:48attack deep against a weak secondary, which this very much is, he's gonna do it. He's got a 13% deep pass rate. He's
164:54attacking a splash zone, 10 plus yards and over the middle at an 11% rate, which is which is pretty high. He's got
164:59a 8.58 out, which is high. Average depth of completion is 6.8, which is high. Uh, cool. Like, he's he's he doesn't he
165:08doesn't he's attempting a first free throw on 50% of his drop backs, which is super low. Um, but he moves off his
165:14first read. He's not having those failed plays on on the first read. It's like he's Ben Johnson's asking him to do
165:19something. He's turning that down. Then he's seeing if there's anything cooler available and a lot of games he gets sacked because he there's not time to do
165:29that, Caleb. You got to get the ball out. But not here. Here you can go see.
165:33You know what? Who cares if Cole KT's open? Go see if if Rome's open downfield. You got time.
165:40>> Come back to come back to KT if you need to later. You're going to have time. So yeah, I like it from the Caleb side.
165:46Caleb to Rome >> is is my favorite way to play this.
165:49>> Yeah, absolutely.
165:50>> Uh >> and and you know, I don't think that'll be that'll be like somewhat chalk, but it looks like if you were if you were
165:56going to stack that like the chalk stack in this game would be like Gino to Jacobe Meyers with with maybe Genty
166:02thrown in or something. Um Caleb to Rome won't be like low owned, but it's not going to be crazy. So that is my
166:08>> Yeah, I mean Caleb's in kind of this point.
166:11>> Come on. Uh that's what's probably driving him down versus last week even though it's like objectively as good as good of a matchup. Um yeah, outside of
166:19being on the road, it's just kind of his price going up a little bit in this slate having the Josh Allens and Lamars
166:24on it.
166:25>> Uh as opposed to previous weeks where the people are like, well, if I'm going to spend, you know, seven and a half on
166:31FanDuel and uh what is he? I think he's a little bit more palatable on DraftKings.
166:36>> Yeah, he's only 5,800. He's 800 more than Mariota. He's not too too bad, >> but you have May there. I mean, there
166:42are other options, >> but but he's I mean, if if Caleb go I I like the the Caleb to Rome stack is like
166:50a lot higher upside, I think. Well, I mean, Hunter Henry just just went off last week. But I still think it's higher
166:55upside to go Caleb to Rome.
166:57>> Uh >> Oh, yeah. Absolutely.
166:59>> May to Henry.
167:00>> And you still do get a little bit of rushing with the Caleb stuff, too. like you he gives you a little sprinkle like
167:04he is capable of moving >> in a kind of scrambly way where you know it's nice not to have people getting to
167:10him quickly. He's you know he's back there got time to throw. I mean you know kind of a a young Russell Wilson. Is
167:17that a fair comp for this guy?
167:21>> It's probably not what they were hoping to be drafting but I think it's fair.
167:25>> Well you take you would take first tenure Russell Wilson. It's just, you know, the the the game figured out.
167:30Russell Wilson, unfortunately. And >> you might take first, but would you draft him one overall over May Daniels?
167:36I don't think you would.
167:37>> Oh, no. If they had a doover, there's no way if they would they'd be lying to you in the face if they said they would take
167:42Caleb right now one overall.
167:44>> They wouldn't take him two overall. He would He would Yeah, I >> I out of the guys though, >> depending on how Bo Knicks looked
167:51recently, they might not take him three overall.
167:54>> Out of the year two guys though, like he hasn't played as bad. It's just we kind of like you said you I think you
167:59encapsulate the best is like you kind of know where his strengths and weaknesses lie and you know where he's at.
168:03>> Clear strengths and weaknesses >> and if he's able to play in these conditions like we know there are still upside there from a especially from a
168:09fantasy football stance like he has two top 10 scoring weeks already >> like yeah >> people killed him way too much this
168:15offseason too. We're like I'm not a Kale Williams defender exactly but like he had a ceiling last last year. He sunk
168:22relative to expectations and his floor is so much lower than we were promised, but >> he has a ceiling and we're seeing that
168:29again this year and this is a clear ceiling game setup for him. Like this this checks a lot of the boxes for how
168:35Caleb Williams gets there. So that definitely will be someone I'm looking to stack with at least one of my lineups. Um, and I and I like like Gino
168:43like I don't know, man. Like this might not be working out like he he is I know that he's it's kind of weird because
168:51like he has had some production and you know you have the Trey Tucker stuff and and Jacobe Myers could could end up like
168:57racking up targets here and there. So there's there's upside but like the line stinks and I don't want Gino Smith with
169:06a 3.2 second time to throw. I want Gino Smith like getting the ball out like on time like short throws, accuracy,
169:12success rate. Like that's isn't that the Gino Smith experience? Why am I looking at the the EPA chart that I have? Like
169:19he is overlapping with Caleb Williams.
169:21Like he's playing he's playing Caleb Williams ball too, which could work here.
169:27>> And that's that's maybe where you know not playing it through the Gino side hurts uh ultimately is because like this
169:33is both sides get Caleb ball matchups.
169:37Um, and both guys are playing Caleb Ball, but I'd rather just play Caleb if I'm playing like if the bet is Caleb
169:44Ball, >> like why am I like, and >> here's the chart that I'm talking about, but it's like why am I having to to uh
169:52to bet on Gino Smith to play like this, like this Russell Wilsony, >> low success rate, but still like okay >> efficiency. Like last year, this is
170:03where Juno Smith was. high success rate, a little bit lower uh efficiency than you would expect for the success rate, but he's getting the ball out on time
170:10and all that. So, yeah, it might work out pretty well in this matchup, but it's it's kind of a concerning development for for Gino Smith uh this
170:19season.
170:20>> Yeah, 100%.
170:22>> All right, man. I think we've done it uh a little shorter this week because we only had 11 games, but we're still
170:28getting close to three hours. So >> yeah, we do like to talk and >> we do like to talk as it turns out. Um
170:35tell the people about the worksheet and uh everything you got going on.
170:38>> Yep. Yep. Writing about all these games over at Sharp Football Analysis.
170:42Definitely go check out uh all that stuff. We do we are doing a promo that I meant to look up because it was off of
170:48the uh the score last night and I was just trying to pull up exactly what the code was. Uh yeah, so it's 52% off
170:57because the they did something for the the hit rate of the bets uh for Warren's bets or something. So it's Yeah. So if
171:04you use code 52 off just all 52 of it's 52% off uh everything this week.
171:10>> Love it. Uh check out the walkthrough at Legendary Upside. Uh I narrate that on a private podcast feed for subscribers as
171:17well if you're if you're into the audio version.
171:19>> I gota listen I listen to that once.
171:21>> What' you say?
171:22>> I said I gotta listen to that. I got to listen to that one.
171:24>> It's uh you know I I imagine because it ends up being pretty long too. It might be a might be a 1.75 Xer. Um you know,
171:33but you can go if you just blast it in there real quick and then uh you get the get the charts with the walkthrough and
171:39uh you can see what I'm talking about because I I talked through the charts some of the charts briefly on the
171:43podcast as well. So it's a pretty visual article but um yeah got the the companion audio piece for people over there too. uh going to be writing up the
171:54Dublin game and the Monday Night Football double header this week. Matt Irby's got Sunday Night Football and uh covered Thursday Night Football as well,
172:02rankings, all that good stuff over at Legendary Upside. So, check it out and uh we'll be back here not next week uh
172:09but the week after to resume our Angles and Upside podcast series. See you guys later. Good luck in week four.
