A.J. Brown

NegativeMatchup28:27

A.J. Brown was taken away by the Giants defense in Week 1. The source notes that Jake Ferguson will be harder to take away because he plays no slot snaps and will be moved around the formation, suggesting the Giants' coverage strategy against the Eagles' top receiver may not translate to shutting down Ferguson, who offers more positional flexibility.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveMatchup1:08

Not projecting well and won't get all the work due to Jets' three-man backfield approach, but source's favorite RB play on the slate in context of ownership. Bills run defense is weak (Ed Oliver out, team looked slow, Joey Bosa struggled in Week 1 run defense). Hall had 21% explosive run rate in Week 1 (up from 12% last year), forced missed tackles, 11% target share, 25% targets per out run, and 4.75 yards per out run (led position). Primary receiving back on first and second down for the Jets; will see more volume if Jets forced to drop back frequently. Dual-threat value as pass-catcher; not fragile from game script perspective but limited by playing time allocation.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

PositiveProjection98:02

Brian Thomas Jr. had a disappointing Week 1 receiving day (1.6 yards per target) despite elite underlying metrics: 100% route participation, 21% targets per route run, 18% first read target rate, and 25% target share. The source expects him to be the Jaguars' WR2 this week and is 'excited about him' because the metrics suggest he'll convert on his opportunities against a Bengals defense that is 'probably not very good.' His poor Week 1 was execution-based, not role-based.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveUsage19:42

Lamb commanded a massive target share gap over George Pickens: 41% target share to 13%, 31% first-read target rate to 9%, and 41% targets per route run to 12%. Despite a 44% double coverage rate, Lamb was the clear focal point of the Cowboys' aggressive downfield passing attack (18% deep pass rate, 10.2 ADOT). The source highlighted Lamb as the cover player for this game walkthrough, indicating he is the primary engine of the offense.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveUsage36:17

Chase Brown handled 91% of the carries in Week 1 (led all running backs) and received 3 targets for a 14% target share despite the offense running only 49 plays. The source's offseason comp was 'Kron Williams with receptions,' emphasizing that his fantasy value depends on receiving involvement. During his 2024 starter run after Zack Moss went down, Brown was RB7 in team target share, RB2 in receptions per game, and RB2 in receiving yards per game—production that elevated his fantasy standing. However, the source notes he's not playing third downs and is taking over pass-catching duties in the mix and roll, which removes route participation and chips away at his ceiling since he's inefficient per touch and needs that receiving volume to be viable. The Jaguars allowed significant backfield production last year and gave up a touchdown to Chuba Hubbard in Week 1, creating opportunity for Brown if the Bengals lean run and he maintains receiving volume.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveRole27:33

D'Andre Swift is being used as a satellite back on third downs, a role that limits his overall usage. The source notes that Robinson led the NFL in third-down target share last year and had 55% of third-down targets in Week 1, indicating Swift is not the primary third-down option. This satellite back role constrains his fantasy ceiling and suggests limited upside in the Eagles offense.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

PositiveProjection19:58

Cowboys are running an aggressive downfield passing attack with Prescott's average throw traveling one yard past the first down sticks and a 10.2 ADOT. Prescott attempted first reads at a 60% rate but wasn't completing them at a high rate, indicating the offense is designed for aggressive downfield passing. The source expects him to have significant success against the Giants' vulnerable pass defense and poor secondary, with the offense flowing through Lamb as the primary engine.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveUsage27:27

Dallas Goedert had a 30% target share in Week 1 but generated only 1.49 yards per route run, indicating inefficiency despite receiving a decent volume of targets. This suggests he is not being utilized effectively in the Eagles offense and may not be a reliable fantasy option despite the target opportunity.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

NegativeRole12:21

Kincaid saw 60% route participation in Week 1, establishing him as the lead tight end over Dawson Knox (43%), but the source expresses concern that this is still significantly lower than the three-receiver core (Palmer 75%, Shakir 90%, Coleman 94%), noting that routes are not locked in at the tight end position and questioning why Kincaid has not fully taken over the job from Knox.

Insight page

Dawson Knox

NegativeRole12:21

Knox saw only 43% route participation in Week 1, the lowest among Bills pass catchers and significantly lower than Kincaid's 60%. The source expresses frustration about Knox's role, calling the situation 'bleak' and questioning why Kincaid has not taken over the job entirely, indicating serious concerns about Knox's job security and fantasy viability.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveRole0:56

Locked-in WR1 for the Jets with established target priority; all targets concentrated to Wilson. Slot usage increased to 37% in Week 1 (up from 23% last year and 29% year two), providing access to higher-success-rate targets and reducing volatility. Source trying to get Wilson into reddraft lineups at a price higher than some other places despite Jets' low passing volume in Week 1 (22 attempts), because Jets were in neutral-to-positive script (13th lowest expected pass rate at 59%) but ran heavy anyway (minus 19% pass rate over expected), suggesting run-heavy philosophy that hasn't been tested in high-pass-rate situations yet, which could create upside if they face higher expected pass rates.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveRole20:07

Pickens is significantly behind Lamb in the Cowboys' target hierarchy with only 13% target share, 9% first-read target rate, and 12% targets per route run compared to Lamb's 41%, 31%, and 41% respectively. The source notes that Pickens will have to command attention against a weak supporting cast of Jaylen Tolbert and Brandon Cooks, but this actually benefits Lamb rather than Pickens, suggesting limited upside for the second receiver.

Insight page

Isaiah Davis

NegativeUsage0:23

Explosive RB being underutilized by Jets play-caller in Week 1; despite being the most explosive running back on either side of the ball in the Jets-Steelers matchup, Davis was frequently taken off the field, suggesting inefficient offensive game planning.

Insight page

Jake Ferguson

PositiveValue28:00

Jake Ferguson is on the source's tournament radar as an in-play option for Week 2. If the Cowboys are forced to score points and run high drop-back counts against the Giants, Ferguson has a shot to stack targets and let volume control his fantasy output. The source sees him as a viable tournament play with upside in a potential high-volume passing game. Ferguson will be harder to take away than A.J. Brown because he plays no slot snaps and will be moved around the formation, offering more positional flexibility.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveProjection13:33

The source ranks Coleman as the number one Bills receiver, primarily due to touchdown equity; Coleman led the team in end zone targets last year and was targeted in the end zone again in Week 1, making him the tiebreaker among the three receivers despite a deflected touchdown in Week 1.

Insight page

James Cook

PositiveUsage14:20

Cook showed a route participation bump in Week 1 and ended up with 75% of backfield touches, a slight increase from last year. The source likes this development because Cook is a capable pass catcher and has touchdown equity; the increased touch share may have been driven by game script (trailing and deploying the number one offense), but the source wants to see the route bump remain static going forward.

Insight page

Josh Reynolds

NegativeInjury1:02

Out for Week 2, removing a secondary receiving option from the Jets passing game and concentrating targets further to Garrett Wilson.

Insight page

Justin Fields

PositiveProjection0:38

Tournament-winning play in Week 1 as a cheap rushing QB; only had first-read attempts on 38% of throws (very low) with 3.53-second average time to throw (super long), suggesting ball-holding and read issues, but was 100% efficient on first-read completions. Dual-threat upside is exciting given Bills' weak run defense and Jets' willingness to lean into his runner strengths; not fragile from game script perspective. Incorporated into passing game with intentional design—Jets used pre-snap motion at ninth-ranked rate in drop backs, putting Fields in spots to win as a passer with control. Identified as one of core three fantasy plays in Bills-Jets matchup; could have really good fantasy game even in lower-scoring scenario (e.g., 23-16).

Insight page

Khalil Shakir

PositiveRole11:17

Significant bump in route participation, jumping from around 75% last year to 90% in Week 1. Locked into Bills' core three-receiver rotation alongside Palmer and Coleman, with no rotation from Curtis Samuel or Amari Cooper as in prior years. Stability provides clarity for fantasy targeting.

Insight page

Russell Wilson

NegativeProjection25:01

Russell Wilson's success rate has been consistently poor and unreliable, with percentile rankings of 28th, 10th, 31st, 27th, 26th, 29th last season, and only 17th in Week 1. The source's concern is that if Eberflus's game plan is to make Wilson beat them with consistency—a style that doesn't suit Wilson's strengths—the Giants defense will likely win that matchup. This defensive approach mirrors the Eagles' Week 1 strategy and could result in a low-volume passing game for Dallas, limiting Wilson's fantasy upside.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

PositiveUsage27:03

Saquon Barkley remains the focal point of the Eagles offense with a 33% target share and 68% air yard share, making him the entire offense. Despite limited box score production in Week 1, he saw increased usage diversity and movement around the formation, suggesting the Eagles are committed to getting him involved in multiple ways. This elite target and air yard share indicates he remains a primary option in the Eagles' game plan.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveRole11:17

Coleman (referred to in source context) is part of stable three-receiver core (Palmer, Shakir, Coleman) with 94% route participation, the highest of the three. Had only 17 yards going into fourth quarter in Week 1, but Bills did not rotate receivers as they had in prior years, providing clarity on his locked-in role going forward.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeMatchup38:48

Travis Etienne faces the Bengals in Week 2, which the source frames as a critical window before a brutal schedule (Texans, 49ers, Chiefs, Seahawks, Rams, bye). The source suggests using this matchup as a 'carrot' to potentially get one more game out of Etienne before trading him, as it's a good spot for game environment. However, the source expresses concern about Bengals run defense credibility after allowing the fewest yards per carry to running backs in Week 1, noting skepticism about whether that performance is repeatable. Etienne may be an RB3 or RB4 on some rosters, making him a potential sell-high candidate after Week 2.

Insight page

Travis Hunter

PositiveUsage26:36

Travis Hunter posted 82% route participation in Week 1 with a 30% target share per route run, fitting well with the Jaguars' underneath passing scheme. Despite reports he may play more defense in Week 2, the source expects Hunter to maintain high target volume; even at a reduced 75% route participation, he would generate significant targets given his per-route efficiency. The source likes the Jaguars passing game overall and expects Hunter to benefit from the Bengals' weak defense.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

PositiveProjection30:28

Trevor Lawrence's Week 1 performance showed concerning efficiency metrics: 4.8-4.1 yards per attempt in the first half with 2.4-second release time (14 of 19 passing), but in the second half when the Jaguars were up 20-3, he averaged 12 air yards per pass attempt on 5 of 12 attempts with a 33% inaccurate target rate, resembling 'old Trevor Lawrence.' The source is concerned that if the Bengals' defense plays passively like Al Golden's approach (blitzing at league's lowest rate), Lawrence will be limited to short passes rather than explosive plays, which could suppress his fantasy ceiling.

0:01Welcome to the Legendary Upside podcast and Legendary Upside YouTube channel. My name is Pat Crane. You can follow all my content at legendary upside.com. With me
0:08today, Rich Reebar, for a podcast that we now have a title for, Rich, we we we figured out a title.
0:14>> It took us It took us two weeks. We did it.
0:17>> We did it. Uh with some help from the listeners as well. We got a ton of submissions. Thank you to everyone who
0:22submitted. Uh I we ended up going with something that's kind of a pivot off of a name that John sent in. Um, angles and
0:30upside. That's that's the name of this podcast going forward. Angles and upside week two preview. Uh, here to talk with Rich about all of the the game
0:38environments, what we're excited about in week two on the on the Sunday main slate. But Rich, how's it going?
0:44>> It's good. It was, you know, this is like the first like workflow week. I assume you you get to work ahead in week
0:50one. It's the only time we get to work ahead and then we're on like the conveyor belt. So >> theoretically you can work ahead, but I
0:56was so swamped with all the >> the the first week's so tough because I still have all the best ball stuff still
1:02and I'm trying to get drafts in. Yeah.
1:05>> So actually this week was was better for me than week one.
1:08>> Yeah. This one's a little tougher for me like the first couple weeks because I try to cover more ground in these early
1:14weeks like one because you know obviously gamers are more into the season because it's new but also like we're just getting new data so I try to
1:22cover everything. you know, like when people see Isaac Tesla catch a touchdown, they want to come read about him or like, you know, they want to like
1:28what was his actual usage and stuff like that. So, you're covering more bases, uh, you're and it takes a little bit
1:34longer because you're trying to at least give some thoughts as like, hey, this happened in week one, but like this is
1:39where like they could do something different in week two and stuff like that, right? So, I do put a lot more
1:43work into it. It takes a little bit longer these first couple weeks. Then the workflow starts to happen like October.
1:49>> I agree. Yeah, I do too. and and you don't have the short hand yet. Like in four or five weeks you're going to be
1:54like there's certain players you're going to be like, >> you know, George Piggin is doing his George Piggin thing or whatever. You
1:59might maybe it's not Piggin, but maybe he's volatile, but but whatever it is, we're going to be like, yeah, you know,
2:03the deal here. Like this is this is a a normal matchup. This is kind of this guy's going to be in his normal role
2:09probably. Um he's a wide receiver, too, as usual. That kind of stuff.
2:13>> And we don't have that yet. We're trying to figure out where everyone stands. And then we're also trying to figure out
2:18like what these matchups from last week actually told us um versus what was kind of just weirdness. Uh we were talking
2:26right before we we hit record that you know last week we weren't super psyched about the Jets and the Steelers. Not
2:34many other people were and yet that was the game with a ton of points.
2:38>> Yeah. I saw the uh the big tournament winners like like naked Justin Fields took down the the big tournament and it
2:45was just you know solo Justin Fields which actually makes sense. I could see how people got there just playing the rushing cheap rushing quarterback and
2:50then you get the smash spot.
2:51>> But the if you look at like the scores like the Millie score and stuff like scores in like the 180s like that's just
2:56not that's just not what's going to win those big tournaments later in the season, you know, with scoring being kind of down. It was another slow start
3:02for offenses. I was I actually came in kind of optimistic for this year because like it felt like teams handled preseason a little bit differently and
3:09then it was still just like really slow out of the gates and I I was really disappointed in like the first time play
3:15callers and like a lot of my writeups outside of the Jets with Tanner Instin a lot of the first time play callers I
3:21thought really had rough week ones.
3:23>> Well, let's not let Tanner off the hook too much. I mean he's he's playing Isaiah Davis and Railen Allen. He's got
3:29like the most explosive running back by far on either side of the ball and he's like, "Oh, let's let's take him off the
3:37field a bunch. It seems like a good idea." So, yeah, I'm I'm not I'm not exempting him.
3:43>> No, no complete hall pass. Yeah, it was it was nice though to see him call at least plays to Justin Field strengths
3:48like your Alex your quarterback and not put him in spots, you know, where you know Justin Field is having to win out
3:54of the pocket and like third and eight regularly.
3:56>> Yeah. And it's also not lost on him that Garrett Wilson is just the locked locked in number one there, which is which
4:02>> and Josh Reynolds is out this week. So yeah, I mean I is that where we're starting Bill's Jets?
4:08>> Yeah, let's do Bill's Jets. Um cuz this is one this is one of those things where like looking around I'm seeing Bree Hall
4:15is not projecting all that well and you know he's uh not going to get all the work but watching the Bills you know
4:24hold up against Eric Henry last week it was rough and uh this this this team might be really struggle in run defense
4:31this year and then also not be that great in pass defense. The Jets, I think in some ways it was a little bit hard to
4:39bet on going forward, especially the field stuff. Like one thing that jumped out is Fields only had a first read attempt on 38% of his throws, which is
4:47really low. And he held the ball. His average time to throw was 3.53 seconds, which is super long. So like all this
4:55stuff, like if you're a Justin Fields hater, you're like, he holds the ball too long. He can't read, he can't like
4:59make his read, you know? He's like, "Yeah, he he did that. The first read wasn't open. and he kind of sits there,
5:05you know, but he was super efficient when he was able to make a first read throw. Uh he completed 100% of those
5:12passes. So that really helped his day, but that's obviously not going to sustain. So I think the the Justin Fields passing stuff came with some real
5:20red flags. But you have him also being able to be mobile here. The defense the the defense not being able to stop the
5:28run, the offense leaning into his strengths there as a runner. So, the dual threat nature for Fields here is actually very exciting. Um, you know,
5:36all the targets are going to go to Garrett Wilson. And I think this is another efficiency spot for Bree. The Jets should be smart enough to pivot.
5:44Uh, I don't think they will be. I think they're going to stick to the stupid plan they have of a three-man backfield
5:48for another three or four weeks. But, but like, you know, in a scenario where they just gave Bree Hall 75% of the
5:55snaps, he would absolutely smash year.
5:58>> Yeah. I mean, I think Bruce Hall is my favorite just running back play on the slate in context of u, you know,
6:04potential ownership and where we are. I mean, obviously, you know, CMC is going to get a ton of touches, but everyone's,
6:09you know, a bunch of people are going to play them. Uh, it was so funny, we did the show last week before even knowing
6:13the CMC stuff and then we got off the air like when we were done recording is when like it was like all the stuff for
6:19like CMC was like, "Well, I feel good."
6:21And they were like, "We don't know what's happening." And then like, you know, we get to Sunday as Oz touches, but we'll get to the 49ers. But I love
6:27this spot for the matchup like you said and it's gonna be it's fun for both sides, right? Because the Bills on one
6:33hand just faced like a similar stuff like the quarterback RPO game and a lot of the outside zone stuff. You know, the
6:39only running back that had more outside zone rushing attempts in week one than Bruce Hall was Derrick Henry. So, you know, they're going to see the same
6:47stuff and it's like, did they fix that?
6:49Because they were in hell that entire Sunday night. Like there was like two plays where Joey Bosa Joey Bose on the
6:54first Lamar Jackson touchdown tackled the running back like he was did you know did he make the right read and the
7:00best Bills defender in week one was Ed Oliver by far and he's not playing he was the second highest he was the second
7:07highest graded interior run defender for PFF in week one grain of salt or whatever but if you watch the game he
7:12was by far like their best player. The other thing too that stood out to me for the Bills defense is they look slow.
7:18They look real slow and I don't know if that's something that's going to be like, you know, static going in, but
7:23they just look I didn't see like any team speed from them on defense and I feel like that's a problem for this
7:29matchup too. You know, especially when you have an explosive player like Bree and he had that explosion in week one. I
7:35mean, explosive run rate of 21%. He's at 12% last year and then he had the missed tackles were a little bit back in his
7:40profile and it's one game, you know, whatever. But uh he he did force some missed tackles in week one because that
7:45was really absent for him last year was just you know creating after contact. So I love him. Go ahead.
7:51>> He had an 11% target share, 25% targets per out run, 4.75 yards per out run which led the position and will fall
7:59significantly but still fun. And so you think about like ways this game can go and you know both Fields and Hall are
8:08kind of insulated from okay what if the Bills just put it on the Jets like well >> Hall catches passes like for whatever
8:16reason he's not probably going to be out there in like the true long down a distance stuff. I think Davis probably
8:20has that, but you know, on first and second down, they're going to throw to Hall. And that that's only more true if
8:25they have to drop back more. You know, they only dropped back they only had 22 attempts last last week, which is
8:31obviously a little bit of a concern um from, you know, the the fantasy volume angle, but the Bills should be able to
8:38put up points on them. Um and so, yeah, I think Hall is not a particularly fragile play from like a game script
8:46perspective. It's a playing time issue.
8:48It's it's, you know, what is his playing time? What's the plan for this back field? And, you know, if this if we had
8:54this set up where I think we're going to be in, you know, November and December, then I would be talking about how Bree
9:01is going to bas basically get there no matter the script. It's it's harder to say that he he is more fragile because I
9:06just don't know what the playing time is ultimately going to be. But the upside is definitely there. Um, and then on the
9:12Jet side, like they didn't really get much pressure. They were 28th in quick pressure rate, 25th in pressure rate last week. Um, you know, obviously Josh
9:21Allen looked awesome. Success rate not not so great last week. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. But the EPA numbers were the best of the week,
9:30obviously with the comeback win. Um, and so you could see the Bills uh probably pivoting more to like a run first
9:37approach year than they than they had last week certainly, but uh still plenty of opportunity for them to put up points.
9:44>> Yeah. Yeah. And and you know, we have the Aaron Glenn and Steve Wilks kind of did what we thought they would do.
9:49That's what you really like about this particular matchup from both sides. Not even for because this game's I think really good from a fantasy stance
9:55because like the core three players that like I would be looking at would be, you know, Josh Allen, Justin Fields, and
9:59Bree Hall. And it feels like even if this game doesn't go as hot as like Steelers, Jets went last week, all those
10:05players could still have like really good fantasy games in a game that was like 23 to 16. And that's what that's
10:11what I really like about the core plays in this because you know Aaron Glenn they they were third in man coverage.
10:15They blitz at the seventh highest rate.
10:16It was all the stuff he did in Detroit.
10:18>> And like literally Allen this like the big no no is you just don't go to man coverage. You said that the Ravens did
10:24it in the fourth quarter for no reason.
10:26They didn't even need to. And he absolutely torched them uh against man coverage. Last year he had 22 touchdowns and three interceptions uh against man
10:34coverage. He only threw six touchdowns against zone coverage last year. There was a stat I kept putting in the worksheet because he he didn't throw his
10:40first touchdown against zone coverage till like week nine last year. It was crazy. Um, and the last time these teams played, what did Aaron Glenn do?
10:48>> He just he he played man coverage on 52% of dropbacks. Josh Allen only faced man coverage one other time at a high rate
10:54last year. They blitzed Josh Allen on 38% of his drop backs. Uh, that was the highest rate he faced with the blitz
11:00last year. and he absolutely lit them up, you know, and obviously they're not going to get pushed back like the line
11:05like the Jets aren't going to do what the Lions did offensively back, but like you just if Aaron Glenn is just gonna do
11:10Aaron Glenn things like Josh Allen's going to do Josh Allen stuff like if that's what they want to do. So, uh it's
11:17it's the the hard part from Allen is like trying to diagnose what was real for the production from the receivers because it just came in late quarter
11:25garbage time. But one thing that stands out though from the Bills because like Coleman had like 17 yards going in the
11:32fourth quarter, but they didn't rotate the receivers like last year. And that was what stood out that you know Coleman and Shakir Shakir got actually got a big
11:41bump in terms of like route participation from where he was last year. He was like right around the 75% range and he was at 90% week one. Yeah,
11:48>> it was literally just Palmer, Shakir, and Coleman. And like you know last year it was like a rotating door outside of
11:54Shakir or the outside guys. And that at least gives us some stability to say like if you want to take a shot on one
11:59of these guys you at least know now instead of not knowing like hey Curtis Samuel is going to come in for some
12:04snaps or Amari Cooper's coming in for some snaps like you know it's kind of these three.
12:09>> I have the same takeaway is that it's these three running the routs. Josh Palmer had 75% route participation and he was the lowest of the three. Com's up
12:17at 94%. So you have, you know, where the routes are are coming at receiver. Um, you don't have routes locked in at tight
12:25end. Daltton Concaid, >> the same stuff.
12:28>> 60% route participation. Dawson Knox at 43%. Like that's bleak, man. Like how do you not how have you not taken this job
12:35away from Dawson Knox at this point? So that that was that was definitely concerning, but it's good for the receivers if you're going to
12:41>> and they ran 78 plays. Like you look at because you can easily look at Concaid's box score and look at the targets and
12:46there'll be a couple spots we talk about like that.
12:49>> Uh they run they're not running that almost 80 plays in this game like that's just not that if that happens all the
12:55dudes are doing good but uh so but that's you know that's where that 60% >> the Jets have have like 27 attempts
13:02>> because I know people get mad at us for like locking on to stuff like route participation over like targets and
13:07stuff but it's like this is where stuff shows up in a one game sample. we have a guy, you know, that that you're like,
13:13"Oh, well, he could get some targets, but it's like, dude, if he's on the field for 60% of plays and they ran 80
13:18snaps and he only got four targets, like what happens when they run, you know, 62 plays, like >> like, you know, like that's where we
13:25talk about this stuff, >> right?" No, exactly. You're trying to take take these offenses and put them into different environments and and
13:31figure out what's going to happen. I still don't really know what's going to happen on the receivers with the targets. Like, you know, Coleman's
13:36touchdown was deflected and he ends up looking pretty good.
13:40um in the box score, but you know, I'm not sure if we can really trust it. But at the same time, Shakir didn't look
13:46that great. Palmer didn't look that great. So maybe maybe Coleman is the number one. I have him ranked the highest, but but not by much.
13:53>> Um >> it's because of touchdown equity, right?
13:56I think that's if you're doing like rankings, you break the tie because, you know, touchdown equity, he he, you know, when he was on the field, he led the
14:02team in end zone targets last year. Uh they threw to him again, you know, in week one. It's like that's kind of the
14:07tiebreaker, but I'm with you. It's kind of more It's more volatile. It's harder to stack. And I think that's why I think
14:13you could just play Allen by himself if you want.
14:17>> I agree. Any thoughts on James Cook?
14:20>> Uh I did like that he had a little bit of a route bump in week one. We'd like to see that be static because what hurt
14:25him last year was like he he took a receiving dip and you know, we know he's a good pass catcher. So, you know, we
14:32want to have like he had that nice I thought he was going to house that 51 yard that he had in space. Um, so you
14:38like that a little bit because we know like he's going to have the touchdown equity too. So, uh, ended up with 75% of
14:43the backfield touches, a little bit of an increase last year. Uh, don't know if that was just because again they're just
14:49trailing and we got to put our number one offense on the field and we're just going to go that route. But definitely
14:54still positive. Uh, I don't I just feel neutral on him. Like I said, I don't think hot.
15:00>> The the one the the other guy we haven't like talked about a ton yet is is Garrett Wilson. And I don't know from
15:07like uh like a DFS perspective if I'm going to be playing Wilson this week, but um I'm I'm trying to get him into
15:15lineups. Like if you're if you're in leagues where you know you you're like breaking ties between some good options.
15:21>> Yeah.
15:21>> In in a reddraft league, I'm trying to get Garrett Wilson into lineups. um Bham I think a little bit higher than than
15:28some other places because I know they didn't throw much last week but even though they lost that game they were playing from ahead for a lot of that
15:37game and it was kind of a very like back and forth like trading punches kind of game and so they had a they had a minus
15:4419% pass rate over expected which is absurd right and that tells you a lot about like where their heads are at but
15:51their their expected pass rate was 59% so it wasn't like they were fighting that that was that was uh the 13th
15:57lowest of the week. So they were in, you know, neutral to positive script and then they went really heavy, really pushed into the runheavy nature of that.
16:06Um and I expect them to do that in similar setups. What we don't know though is like what happens when they
16:11have a 65% expected pass rate, a a 70% expect pass rate, like are they are they going to fight that? Are they going to
16:17kind of be Arthur Smith and refuse to pass no matter what? or at a certain point are they willing to drop back to
16:24give themselves a chance to win because because last week's approach like should have won them the game. Xavier Gibson had a fumble. They then cut him. Um
16:32>> if that doesn't happen, they win that game. So they weren't like this wasn't them playing like stubbornly and stupidly. They were they had a they
16:40definitely have a philosophy that's very built around the run, but it hasn't been tested yet when you know sticking with that would actually like cause them to
16:50lose a game. Do they are they stubborn in that way? And the Lions where both Angstrom and and Glenn come from and
16:59Angstrom was there as a passing game coordinator for like three years. That's not how they operated at all. Like they will pivot when they need to. So I'm a
17:07little bit more optimistic, I think, than some that that there are pass attempts potential potentially in this in this offense if the team is having to
17:15play from behind, which there's a decent chance of this week. Yeah, I came out a lot more optimistic on this passing.
17:20That was my one worry. Like we I think we all thought they were going to be able to run the ball like to a degree
17:26above average to to good. And then um you know, especially with fields being incorporated, the passing stuff was always a big mystery. And I just like
17:34that they put Fields in spots to win as a passer uh like with control like you know, they used they they they really
17:40kind of just doed up a lot for him. He was ninth in drop backs with pre- snap motion. They also that ties into you
17:46know utilization for Garrett Wilson and you know getting Garrett Wilson you know more favorable you know matchups in the slot which you know we didn't really see
17:54well he was kind of tracking for it last year and then they made the trade for Dvonte Adams and then just like threw
17:59that all off. Rogers got his boy uh then Devonte Adams started playing like pretty almost like exclusively in the slot like 50% of the time and it kind of
18:06roadblocked Garrett Wilson to where he didn't have access to as many of those targets that are like more smoothing types just come with a higher success
18:13rate. Uh and we saw that like you know he was uh he was he was in the slot uh a lot you know last year or last week 37%
18:20of the time uh as a rookie it was 33 and a half% and then it was 29.1% last year and then it was uh 20 or 29% year two
18:27and then 23% last year. So, it does help. Ma, I do think when they do have to throw, he won't be quite as volatile
18:34as in years past uh because of that, getting him those looks. And then I I just like that Angstrand like kind of
18:39just called the game around like the strengths of his players. And that's like what you want to see from like a
18:44first time play caller. And I came out pretty positive on it because like Garrett Wilson was not a guy I was like
18:49super excited about to pay the price for. And I and I'm still like the interesting thing about Garrett Wilson was I wish I had him in some spots, but
18:55I'm like still not mad. I bypassed him at where he was going in ADP because like I was usually just that's when I
19:00was taking one of the elite QBs or someone else. I still really I still feel really good about having those guys
19:05too.
19:05>> If you were like JS over Wilson like that feels good. So yeah.
19:09>> So like I it's one of it's a weird thing where like I'm not like heartbroken when I look at the teams I could have had him
19:13on because I'm like oh well I still made a good decision there but I also now it's like all right well he did justify
19:17that cost. Yeah, >> he was also falling to like the late fourth at the end of drafts which was just I was kind of like what's
19:23happening? Um so I've you know I've got stuff where it's like Garrett Wilson in the late fourth, Bree in the early fifth
19:29and then and then Field. So those those teams feel very very fun. But yeah, you're right at the at the original
19:34price on Wilson, he looks good. Maybe not going to lap anybody though. Um, >> Giants at Cowboys want to want to hit
19:42this game next because this was uh where I had the cover boy CD Lamb uh of the walk through this week. Uh, the thing
19:50that that jumped out to me here um first of all, I mean, you have you have an offense where Dak Prescott was
19:58attempting first reads at a at a 60% rate, which is pretty high. Um, but he wasn't completing them at a very high
20:07rate. But so you get a sense though of like what the offense is trying to do.
20:11Like this is one of the the spots where I feel like we did get a pretty clear picture of like the way the Cowboys are
20:17designed. And it was an aggressive downfield passing attack, 18% deep pass rate. Prescott's average throw traveled one yard past the the first down sticks,
20:27which is which is aggressive. He had a 10.2 ADOT. Um so they're they're trying to move the ball fairly deep downfield.
20:34And then you also have CD Lamb really having a huge gap between him and George Pickkins. 31% first read target rate,
20:4241% targets per outr run. Pickins was at 9% and 12% uh 41% target share for Lamb to 13% for Pickkins. Like obviously that
20:50level of gap isn't going to sustain. But this is in a game where where Lamb had a 44% double coverage rate, which is
20:56really really high. So they were trying to take him away and it just didn't happen. So, a a very very clear signal
21:03that like this offense is built around getting CD Lamb the ball, which wasn't necessarily something we knew for sure headed into
21:12the year with Pickkins joining. We knew Lamb was going to be the one, but is he like a 1A or is he like a puka level
21:19one? And I think he might be kind of a Puka level one or at least close. And that's pretty damn exciting given given
21:27how given how talented he is and given this matchup with with the Giants where their their secondary looks very very beatable. Pass rush was okay. Abdul
21:35Carter had a solid debut but uh I don't think they have like an elite pass rush, poor secondary, vulnerable pass defense
21:42overall. Cowboys obviously the running game with high success rate. Javvante got in the got in the end zone and everything, but they're not going to be
21:48able to like lean on the run as the engine of the offense. It's going to have to be Dak and and he should have a
21:52lot of success here I think flowing through Lamb. So very very excited about this being a spike week for CD Lamb.
21:58>> Yeah, I was disappointed in the Giants pass rush. I thought it would be a lot better in week one and then you know I
22:03was like oh was it just because they faced Jaden Daniels was a philosophy thing and then you know the the commanders couldn't block anyone last
22:10night in the game we watch. You know it's like yeah they might be just this night you know it might be one of these
22:15things where just they're slower out of the gates and it's going to take some time to come together. But, uh, marrying
22:20those two things together, uh, doesn't give me, you know, um, any hope that they're really going to get to Dak Prescott in this game either. Uh, and I
22:28like structurally like a lot of the stuff Brian Shottimer did, uh, you know, and Clayton Adams did in kind of their
22:34their first game. So, I I think they're going to be in a really good spot offensively here. Like, I expect them to
22:39get some stuff to pickings, but yeah, I mean, I always thought it was going to be Lamb. Lamb I thought was like at the
22:44end of the year when McGary got injured.
22:45I thought Lamb was like kind of the clear 102. Uh I was like, "Yeah, like it's just it's, you know, now it's going
22:51to be and when we get to the Falcons, I have a Oh, we're not even doing the Falcons." Well, I'll tell you my initial
22:55hot take is that Bejian's going to be like last year a Chan. Like they're just they just can't run the ball and like
23:00they're just they're going to have to circumvent like they're so >> down bad on the offensive line. But uh we're that game's not on the main slate.
23:07I forgot about that.
23:08>> But yeah, when that Swift I was like, man, Lamb's the 102 because Pickkins is going to help him as much as people
23:13thought Lamb was going to help Pickkins.
23:14Like dude, Pickins is going to draw attention like and like because Lamb moves around like he goes everywhere and he's like Pickkins the fact that
23:22Pickkins is going to have to command attention versus Jaylen Tolbert and the ghost of Brandon Cooks. Even Michael G.
23:27I'm like this is great for Lamb. Like Lamb is just going to absolutely feast.
23:30We thought this team was going to have to drop back flat. The one concern I do have about the Cowboys big picture and I
23:36just need to see the larger sample size is the addition of Matt Everloose. And I kind of really didn't think about this
23:43in the offseason and then like I I really noticed it on Thursday.
23:48>> So when you structurally want to play really passive defense and you don't want to you don't want to blitz, you
23:54want to play coverage and you want teams to throw a bunch of passes underneath what that is. We've seen this with
23:59Jonathan Ganon. This Jonathan Ganon's done this forever. Matt Ever has done this at his stops too. is it can be a
24:04little bit of a restrictor plate in terms of play volume because the other team is running more plays inherently because you're not trying to give up
24:11splash plays. Like their whole thing in week one was like they gave up one explosive.
24:16>> Um so it's like if you're not giving up explosives that probably lowers the uh run out for like the potential this to
24:24be like last year's Bengals. You heard like this the Cowboys kind of being like they could be last year's Bengals. You
24:29know Lamb is Chase. You know the same thing. But if Matt Everflow is going to run like this style of defense, it might
24:35kind of slow that outcome down. And that's what we saw on week one, right?
24:39Like the Eagles just had the ball so much and they were able to kind of create some opportunities to win that
24:44game. So I think that they're going to look at that and say like we had it, we just didn't finish. And then if they're
24:49going to play that type of style against the Giants, it's probably going to work again, too. Like because >> it's gonna work. Yeah. That's
24:56>> they're not concern.
24:58>> Yeah. I I think that go ahead.
25:01>> Russell Wilson's success rate sucked and it has sucked for a long time. So if you're going to have him play success
25:08rate ball >> Well, he's not that type of guy. Like the NFL when the Meta switched, that's when Russell Wilson went from Hall of
25:14Famer to changing teams every year.
25:16>> Yes. Yes. Yeah. I mean, he he he finished last year in success rate. his percentiles were were 28th percentile, 10th, 31st, 27th, 26th, 29th, and then
25:28last week he was at 17th. So, it's just like he's inconsistent. He if you if you're going to if your game plan is to
25:36make Russell Wilson beat you with consistency, you're going to win. And it sounds like that's what Ever Fluc is going to do. That's that's my concern
25:43for this game is that, you know, we don't get this. This reminds me of like, you know, when you'd play like AJ Brown,
25:52you know, a couple years ago, three years ago, and he was like going against the Steelers and he goes nuts. He scores
25:57two touchdowns in the first half and then like they're pulling the starters by the third quarter. Like that that's sort of it's kind of what I think needs
26:03to happen for Lamb. you know, maybe maybe unless the Giants can push back, but but I'm hoping that the Cowboys just
26:10put it on the Giants and then, you know, if Russ craps out, uh it's after they've already scored a ton of points through
26:16the air against the Giants. So, but yeah, that that my the Giants side of this is is my concern for the game
26:23environment.
26:24>> Yeah. And and it already feels like the the clock is ticking on Russ. But people people will forget like his career like
26:29he was going to the Hall of Fame like absolutely was on the trajectory like to go to and then like two shell that's
26:36when like the shell defense everything because Russ is a big game hunter like he wants and he still he can still throw
26:41the deep ball like that's his game. Um but when you have to have like you said that consistency where like you're
26:46dropping back and just taking what the defense is g that's where he he just kind of always just faltered man. And
26:50then then when the NFL switched that's when he started to fall apart.
26:54Yep. Yep.
26:55>> It's a bummer, you know, >> but you know, you can still Neighbor still looks pretty solid here. He He looks real solid.
27:03>> And he got he had usage change, too, where he play he they moved him a lot more and gave him more diverse. It
27:08didn't show up in the box score, but he moved around a lot more in week one. It was just the same stuff, you know, the
27:14offensive attachment, the quarterback play, but >> 33% target share, 68% airard share. like he he's still the entire offense. Um
27:25Wandell didn't really do anything. He had a 30% target share, but uh you know 1.49 yards per out run.
27:33>> They they did this last year. So Well Robinson led the NFL in third down target share last year like criminal
27:39activity. And then week one in in week one he had 55% of the third down targets.
27:44>> Oh my god.
27:46>> What are we doing? What are we doing?
27:48>> He's a he's a third down back, Rich.
27:50Yeah, he is the satellite back is the satellite back.
27:53>> He's Dubal, man.
27:55>> But no, Don Bland for the Cowboys. Maybe that alter maybe that opens some stuff up for neighbors for like because I
28:00think he's in the GBP play. If you think like the Cowboys route them or at least, you know, are scoring points like you're
28:07get you were thinking a high number drop backs and then Neighbors has a shot to stack a lot of targets here and then you
28:11just let the the volume kind of take control. So, I think Neighbors is Neighbors is definitely going to be on my tournament radar. I think he's in
28:19play for sure.
28:20>> Um it's scary, but I think I mean you talk about like if they're just going to have these guys rack up a bunch of bunch
28:27of underneath reception. I mean >> they did take away AJ Brown last week, but I think I think Neighbors will be a
28:33little bit harder to take.
28:34>> He plays no slot snaps.
28:36>> Yeah. Yeah. Because they're going to move him around. And because like the Eagles are kind of happy enough if you're gonna if you're going to make
28:43them run the ball, they're like, "Okay, yeah, we'll we'll do that. We're really good at that.
28:48>> Um, >> but I think the Giants, they just have to pass more and they'll be they'll be down. Uh, any any games you want to
28:54highlight?
28:56>> Uh, no, we can just keep moving kind of uh down the list. What's next on the list here? I know what
29:00>> Jaguars Bengals.
29:01>> Yeah, that sounds good to me.
29:03>> Uh, yeah, I'll kick this one to you first.
29:05>> Yeah, and and same thing here. And I know it was like the the a lot of the takeaway people be like, "Ah, week one,
29:10Bengals, Browns versus Bengals." like we have these this coral area of these things that line up like the Bengals have struggled against Jim Schwarz. They
29:17struggled in week one, they did it again. But this is very similar too to what I talk about the Cowboys. One thing
29:22I want to see particularly in this matchup as opposed to what we talked about with the uh the Giants because we
29:27just have no faith in the Giants regardless what your defensive approach is. Al Golden in his first game did something very similar uh than we um
29:35that we saw with Matt Everflow. I mean they blitz at the league's lowest rate.
29:38His plan was, "Brons, we we're going to make you try to beat us with a bunch of paper cuts and eventually you'll beat
29:44yourself." And guess what? The Browns did. Browns eventually did. Uh, you know, two drops that turn in interceptions, bunch of his field goals,
29:49had a chance to win that game. But similarly to like the Cowboys, the Bengals ended up not running a lot of
29:55plays, not only because uh they weren't efficient on offense, but because they couldn't get off the field. They got up nine third down conversions. They give
30:02up two fourth down conversions as well.
30:05And we saw proof of concept from Liam Cohen in the first half of last week's game while it was a competitive game
30:12that they're that's what they want to do. They just want to throw short passes like in the structure of the offense. So
30:17I'm very curious to see if like Al Golden brings that same approach and he wants to play real passive because with
30:22the Bengals, we want them giving up explosives. Like we want the defense to give up explosives so in turn the offense gets the ball and they can
30:28create explosives and then we're off to the races. But if they're gonna just let Trevor Lawrence complete a bunch of five-yard passes, I think Liam Cohen's
30:35okay with that. Like in the first half of that game, uh, while that was a competitive game, Trevor Lawrence averaged 4.8, 4.1 area yards per pass
30:44attempt. He got the ball out in 2.4 seconds. He was 14 of 19 passing in that game. And the Jaguars had a 60% drop
30:53back rate. And then they were up 20 to3 at the half. They don't they don't really throw as much, but when they do
30:59throw, they're letting Trevor Lawrence kind of air it out a little bit. He averaged 12 air yards surpass them in the second half. He goes five of 12.
31:04He's a 33% inaccurate target rate. And it looks kind of like old Trevor Lawrence, right? And so I'm very curious to see like how this game plays out, how
31:13it's called by Al Golden because I know a lot of people are going to be, you know, looking at games as the highest
31:17total of the week. But if if the Bengals have the same approach, I feel like that's going to play into the hands of
31:24stylistically what the Jaguars want to do. And I don't believe this Bengals run defense will be as good as it was last
31:29week uh against this opponent.
31:32>> Yeah. Uh I think the Brian Thomas stuff is interesting here. I mean, he's he had a yards per target of 1.6. Uh, and that
31:41that'll kill any >> and we were both uh we were both like dialed in >> big time and and we were like we were
31:48thinking you know Brian Thomas is gonna be like the wide receiver too this week you know basically consensus that didn't happen because he had the bad week last
31:55week. He did thankfully score a touchdown on a on a handoff, but um you know the receiving day was awful. But if
32:02you look at a lot, he had 100% route participation, 21% targets per out run, 18% first read target rate. Like everything was there. 25% target share
32:10that he he just didn't convert on his targets. It's a great >> tal about it.
32:15>> Yeah, you I think he'll be fine. And so I'm excited about him. But Hunter, you know, they're talking about him playing
32:22more defense this week. I don't know if that means they'll be playing like a lot less offense. I thought like, you know,
32:28they they win, but not a particularly impressive showing from uh the Jaguars last week in in terms of offense and now
32:36you're playing the Bengals. I would be pretty surprised if Travis Hunter is like in a like severely reduced role. Uh and he his route participation was good.
32:4582% like if he's at, you know, 75% route participation this week, he's going to get a high target sprout run again. He
32:51was at 30% last week. He really fits with the underneath stuff. So, uh, yeah, I I like the Jaguars passing game here
32:59for sure. Uh, the Bengals defense looks okay on paper coming off a match up with the Browns, but probably not very good.
33:08So, uh, and the Jaguars defense, >> right? Like there was a couple of those defenses in week one that had better
33:14showings than I think they were going to think like several weeks from now and with sample builds out like, "Ah, yeah,
33:19that was a bad defense.
33:21The Jaguars is one of them, right? They they look they look really good. They they're they're like they're second in passing DVOA right now. Like not after
33:29this week. Not after this week.
33:31>> No. No. I did like some of the stuff they did up front, which I think could be a problem in this game, too. I
33:35thought Anthony Capil did a really good job with like a lot of different stunts and twists. Uh really had, you know,
33:41that that Panthers offensive line in a real bind. And the Bengals won't have Lucas Patrick here in this game. So, I'm
33:48that's another match up I'm very curious because we again when it you show something week one against the Panthers and it looks good. All right, now let me
33:54see it against the Bengals. It doesn't look as good. But the Bengals offensive line was a clear problem like we had
33:59talked about. I mean, there was a possession last week. He Joe Burrow took three sacks out of possession and they punt it like
34:06>> just took three straight sacks and they lose the ball.
34:09>> Yeah. Yeah. That that's the one spot because Jaguars they were getting pressure quickly too.
34:14>> Yeah. That's that's the one thing where >> they were running a lot of games up front which I thought was cool. Like I
34:19was like all right.
34:20>> Yeah. And I mean and uh yeah the Bengals it's tough because the Bengals are coming off a match up with the Browns.
34:26>> Um >> so so their offensive line is not going to look great, but they they're 29th in in preventing pressure right now in
34:34pressure rates. So >> we don't expect it to be good over the course of the season. You just won't be you just don't want 30, you know, 29th
34:41to 32nd. Yeah, I think that like the if this game fails thing is is is Chase Brown bullishness to me is that like
34:51because what we saw last week is that the the Bengals actually were runheavy.
34:56Uh which they rarely rarely were in 2024. Uh but the offense was struggling.
35:02Uh you you're going against a Browns pass rush that's that's dangerous. And we did see teams they they tended to be
35:09it wasn't the Browns weren't like a huge run funnel last year but they were like a little bit of a runfunnel. Um made
35:14sense you're kind of avoiding the pass rush and the Bengals actually shifted to the run and uh leaned on Chase Brown in
35:22in a really big way. He he lost, you know, some of the routes like he only had 45% uh route participation which is
35:28which is running back 19 not not that great but he handled 91% of the carries which led all running backs. So if they
35:38do kind of pivot here, they're having trouble protecting Burrow. The Jaguars aren't giving them that much trouble on offense and it's just like let's let's
35:46kind of be more balanced or even run first. Brown could really get fed here.
35:51He's he's pretty interesting to me. Uh as a DFS play, >> he's gonna be really popular and uh or he's tracking to be really popular. And
36:00um I do think the receiving stuff kind of matters for him cuz my comp for him in the off season was like, oh, he's
36:06Kron Williams with receptions. Like that's this is cool. Like he's >> and a little more juiced, I think.
36:11>> Yeah. But like his efficiency, even going back to Illinois, like his rushing efficiency has always been kind of lackluster. And even if you go back to
36:17last year when he was cooking for fantasy, like his rushing box scores were never flattering. And and if we have to just rely on him as and I I
36:25think he'll get some early down targets, like we didn't have those last week, but if he's really reliant on rushing now
36:32and just touchdowns, like he looks very Kairen Williamsish and we need those we need those uh that that receiving involvement, right? like during his run
36:41as the the starter last year after Zack Moss went down. I mean, he was the RB7 in team target share. He was the RB2 in
36:48receptions per game and he was the RB2 in receiving yards per game. That really is what pushed him uh you know up the
36:54totem pole. Uh so I'm really curious because the Jaguars last year were really bad in terms of giving up production to running backs out of the
37:01backfield and then they allow the uh the Chuba Hubard touchdown which is kind of whatever. It could be just nondescript, but they were bad at last year and then
37:09they gave up the the touchdown in week one. So, I'm just curious to see what rolls over and see, you know, how many
37:15uh targets we get out of Chase Brown. I do think he's he's the type player that needs that involvement, though.
37:20>> He didn't he didn't do anything with them, but he did see three targets last week and that was good for a 14% target
37:25share because the the offense >> they Yeah, they ran 49 plays. Like, it's >> Yeah. So I I think I think he's kind of
37:32mixiny in that like he will still get targeted even though he's not going to play third downs like there it he's you
37:39know P R is P R again and then he's kind of taking over that mix and roll >> which isn't a death now because we you
37:45know a lot of people had the Harvey Dobbins thing and oh my god I want to get to that game but uh uh yeah it's so
37:51he's not like because you know you get running backs get more targets on early downs than you do as the third down
37:55back. It's just removing any of that type of uh route participation is big for a guy who just really has never been
38:01efficient per touch. Like we want every anytime you remove like s you start to just chip away and chisel away at it.
38:08You're just like that takes a little bit away. It just a little bit of sheen.
38:13>> No, that's fair. I I think part of my enthusiasm for him this week is actually like if I'm I'm playing this game to go
38:22off, then I want the receiving game. Um, but if I'm playing this game to maybe be a little bit disappointing and you know that be partly because like
38:32the Bengals aren't protecting well and and the Jaguars pass rush is for real and and like god what's going on with
38:38the Bengals? The what's going on with the Bengals I think could be Chase Brown gets fed carries like that in that
38:44scenario. So because I mean these these defenses are bad. So it's hard to see there just not being any points in this
38:49game. And I guess we should mention Travis ETN because he's another way uh you know on the other side of this game
38:56where where maybe he's you know how the Jaguars are playing it um a little bit more than than we'd prefer and uh going
39:05against a Bengals run defense that doesn't look you know particularly like they were they were okay last week but um >> yeah I I have a I mean they they allowed
39:14the fewest yards per carry but I to running backs last week and I just don't I don't think that I just I don't
39:19believe that Yeah, like I just I I refuse to believe it. Like I refuse to believe it. And then Carolina had
39:24success as a run game and that and you know that kind of goes hand inand with like Liam Cohen's history, but it was
39:29also against Carolina and Carolina had the same problems. They lost one of their defensive tackles, Tershan Wharton during the game, who they paid up for in
39:36free agency from the Chiefs. So, it's just like I I need more proof of concept from both of these teams. I need it's
39:41it's again I need to see more. Uh I will say though, this is your window. Like we talked about this last week about ETN
39:47looking good in week one and then they trade tank bigs to open like the week on Monday and it's like this is your window
39:53like because after this it's still Texans, 49ers, Chiefs, Seahawks, Rams by week like this I still think that you this is your carrot and maybe you want
40:01to say hey I'm going to try to get one more game out of ETN before I shop him because they're playing the Bengals and
40:06I this is a good spot maybe for a game environment. Uh, but I would almost even use this matchup as a carrot. Uh, if you
40:12don't need him, like say >> the problem is after week one, if you're like, "Hey, ETM." Like, >> but but people people took a hit in week
40:21one, like you know, uh, this is why this is why you piss yellow, right? like it's it's >> I think that I think you know even
40:30someone that like I'm happy in the spots I took some running backs but >> we saw like offensive line play and
40:35rushing efficiency take a major hit in week one compared to where we were last year and will that be static for 17 more
40:42weeks? I don't know. But like it's I mean it's it's one of those things you have to be worried about.
40:49There are gamers that definitely are look that need running backs that need him and you and where ETN was going in
40:54drafts he might have been a luxury pick for some teams like he might you might even wanted to play him last week and
40:59benched him because you were like well I got these other dudes like so I would love to play him against the Panthers
41:04but have these other guys so like there are probably teams that have ETN as an RB3 or RB4 even and you know there might
41:11be someone because like if you're an RJ Harvey owner and you took RJ Harvey in the fourth round like you don't feel
41:16comfortable starting him this week you and it's not part of thesis was you never like it should have been you should insulating for that but like if
41:22I'm got ETN and I'm not using him like those are the doors I'm knocking on like I'm going I'm going to you and saying
41:29you need this guy this like you need this guy and then I'm saying like well what do you have that I need like you
41:34know what I mean if you were you counting on Isaiah Pacheco like you know like let me see you know DeAndre Swift did you draft DeAndre
41:44Swift as a starter again like you know you need this high like against the Bengals against the B. You better get
41:51him. You better get him. Like >> you think the Jaguars are doing this to the Bears? Like DeAndre Swift? Really?
41:56That's interesting.
41:58>> Well, if I'm the Bears, too. Like why wouldn't you been in on Tank Bsby for a fifth?
42:02>> I don't know, man.
42:03>> I really don't know. Bixsby actually makes a ton of sense for the Bears. Like >> Yeah. Exactly. So, uh, I do think though
42:10we are going to see Toutin, like Matt Waldman had some really good tweets about this, uh, that what he thought what Toutin even showed on the small
42:16sample was encouraging probably for the Jaguars to be like kind of their like their power runner. Uh, so that so that's encouraging that he had the door
42:24already initially kind of open for us, right? Like you know, for sure us tooting gamers like open it up and then
42:29and like I said, the immediate schedule is not great, but if we think that's going to like lower some of the
42:33efficiency for a guy like ETN, that just further widens the opportunity. Uh, and then we did see Laquin Allen play in
42:39some passing stuff. He is very he was very good in pass pro as uh out of Syracuse. So, it was already cool to see
42:46him getting those opportunities. I just really think they looked at those two guys and what they showed in the very small samples and they were like, we're
42:52okay with this.
42:53>> I do. Yeah. But this will be ETN for this week. I I like tootin a lot.
42:58>> Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
42:59>> Yeah.
42:59>> On the road like it's still a build.
43:01Like it's still a buildup. Uh >> for sure. We didn't talk about like because that we don't need to but like
43:06this is such a hammer spot for Jamar Chase if we do get the pass game stuff like >> it almost goes un unsaid but yes it is
43:13it it's like it's it potentially smash spot for Chase bounceback spot for for Burrow Higgins Chase here. Um, I also know like uh Noah Fan ran more routes
43:24than Mike Cassiki, but Gassiki was getting like more first read stuff and it's just like just just know this this like the there is no tight end here
43:32until kind of further notice I would say.
43:34>> Well, they did the same thing they did last year. So, the Bengals had a they did this last year where like Gaseki is
43:39kind of like a pseudo 11 person. They play like a 10 and a half personnel.
43:43>> Mhm.
43:44>> And then sometimes they go true 11.
43:45That's when Yosh Vos gets on the field and just exercises. But they did this last year with uh early in the season
43:52when they had Eric All too. Remember when they had Eric All. They were playing the three guys and then Eric All
43:56got hurt and then when Higgins got hurt, Gaseki would always jump up too, but then Eric all got hurt. So they're kind
44:00of doing the same thing. I think they all ran double digit routes because Drew Sample ran double digit routes too. He
44:05just also is like more in there for like a run game when they're doing like I said, they run like a like a that pseudo
44:09like that. It's It's like not 11, but it's not uh uh you know, it's a technically 12 personnel either. Like it's because of So,
44:17>> right.
44:18>> All three of those guys played though.
44:21>> Yeah, but Gase is at 38% round participation. It's just It's like >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's what I mean.
44:25Yeah.
44:26>> I also think uh if you got hit, you can It didn't work out fully for us last week. You can go back to Brenton
44:31Strange, I think, this week, too.
44:32>> I think so, too. Yeah. I think so, too.
44:34He led the teams which should never happen but uh you know >> he had you know he had 49 yards the
44:41first drive and then just kind of ghosted the rest of the way and I know Hunter Long caught the touchdown but it
44:46was in the same capacity like Noah Fant caught his touchdown and you'll always have those tight end twos catch those goal line touchdowns like that's how
44:53that's how that play how it works down there.
44:56>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, and he he had 70% route participation, which wasn't like ideal, but it's also in that range where
45:02you're like, "Okay, this is enough for for you to work with in a good game environment." I think he is in play.
45:06>> And the Bengals started off where we left off last year. They were a kind of a tight end target for us. They give up
45:11the 10 uh targets, 10 receptions to tight ends. So, >> uh speaking of of the Bears and DeAndre Swift, uh let's let's cover this game
45:21next. I kind of want to start on the Lions side, actually. Um, I I feel like, you know, I I felt like this when I was
45:29writing up the walkthrough. Uh, and now I feel even more like this after watching the Packers >> last night. That the Packers defense is
45:36awesome. And their struggles, the Lion struggles against this defense don't tell us a ton about how they're going to operate this year, especially because
45:47Jared Goff, he had a first read attempt on 40% of his throws, which is super low. and tells you like in conjunction
45:56with Aman St. Brown seeing 45% double coverage which is 99th percentile on the week. They were trying to take away this
46:04dude's first reads. They succeeded but he still had an 80% completion percentage. He was getting the ball out very quickly or sorry very accurately.
46:14Not actually that quickly. He he had a 3.09 uh second to throw. So he was having to hang back and go through his
46:21progressions. This is actually why Jir Gibbs got so many targets. Gibbs only had a 4% first read target rate, but 36%
46:30targets per out run. So, he's not the first read, but he's getting targeted constantly.
46:34>> They were checkowns. They were checkown >> cuz they're checkowns. Yeah, he was checking down to Jir Gibbs constantly.
46:38So, um, you know, that was awesome to see that Gibbs, you know, is firmly in that role. But but this is one of those
46:45offenses where like we basically didn't see it operate the way it's supposed to in week one and they get a matchup where
46:51they should have a much much easier time playing like they want to play. Now part of that is that they're going to shift
46:57back to the run.
46:59>> Uh they they passed a ton last week >> because they were they were down. You know, it didn't work. They still lost,
47:05but the Lions, like I was saying before, like they do play to win and they will pass when they need to pass. But this
47:11week they go up against a Bears uh defense that looks to have a pretty weak pass rush and uh wasn't particularly
47:19aggressive in in double teaming. So I think we're we're going to see what the Lions actually look like for the for the
47:27first time all season. I I expect Aman St. Brown to bounce back in a big way here. I even expect Jameson Williams to
47:33maybe to maybe show something. His his target numbers were uninspiring last week, but he ran 100% of routes. Uh, so they were serious about getting them on
47:41the field more. Uh, Leaport is interesting here. I think the whole passing game is pretty damn interesting.
47:46And then I think the running game could get back on track this week as well.
47:50They should have more volume. And they're going against a Bears run defense that was not impressive against the Vikings.
47:55>> Yeah, I think we're looking at the Packers. We saw this again. This this this first week week one game plan was
48:01very similar to all the things you laid out. Uh, the Packers against Jared Goff, they didn't blitz them at all. They only
48:06blitzed on 9% of the drop backs. They only played man coverage on another 9%.
48:10Like they were just playing shelf coverage. You're not going to make your first read. Adjust. Check down. Uh and then last night they shifted. So like
48:17the Packers are a team like you're going to have to watch them. Like they might be game plan specific which you feel
48:22really good about if you're a Packers fan. Uh but it might they're they're a team to be noteworthy because they blitzed Jaden. They tripled their blitz
48:28rate last night and and really played more man a lot more man coverage than they did against the Lions. So it's
48:33something to keep an eye on for them. I made the commentary with Hyo, if that game wasn't on Thursday night, the Lions
48:39would be less owned on Sunday because I think a lot of people are going to watch it and just say like, well, the Lions
48:44are bad because the Packers are so good and then they'll go back to him even more.
48:49>> My opinion though of playing it a little bit structurally different than you. Not that I disagree with you, but it's my
48:55his Jared Goff as a quarterback, >> he thrives on the marriage of the run game. And we talked a little Murray last
49:01week and if we were betting on the run game opening up. Yeah. Cuz they ran nothing under center last week like it
49:08like you know that was my one fallback with John Morton is >> he was in the building and watch Ben Johnson do these things and have these
49:14counter punches and then week one was like you know all that stuff that all these guys that were successful with what if I didn't do that?
49:22>> What if I training >> and Grizzard did the in that but the you know that we'll save it for another
49:28week. see what he does. But Grizzard did the same thing like you know with the with the Bucks like you know all that
49:32stuff that was really good for us like what if we took that out? We took that out. Um yeah and there was a that was
49:38where I was a little bit frustrated with John Morton. But if if my opinion is like if the if golf and this passing
49:44game are going to get going, they're going to get it going through the run game. And if the run game is the bet to
49:50unlock the passing game, why don't I just bet on the run guy? Why don't I just go back to Jir Gibbs?
49:56>> This is an awesome Gibb spot. Like why don't I just go back to Jabir Gibbs?
49:59Like uh you know that's if if if if Aman Ron Jameson Williams are getting there because Gibbs and Montgomery are opening
50:06stuff up. I feel like I just want to if that's the avenue I should just play the run game piece. So that Yeah. So I don't
50:13disagree with you. It's just that I my putting that all together I'm like well I want to play Gibbs then.
50:18>> I want to play Gibbs, too. Yeah. He's he's this is a a game where I'm like there's so many different I'm like I
50:25like I like basically all the Lions pieces. So not so much Montgomery but I mean >> right >> you know in season long stuff like
50:33Montgomery >> he had 11 carries last week led the team like he he's still involved. So I think you know if you want to try to like bet
50:41on a touchdown in in a seasonl long league with Montgomery I think this is a pretty good week to do that too. Uh for
50:46DFS it's it's Gibbs and in the passing game for me but um no I love the Gibbs call. I think he's a really really
50:53strong play here. Uh thoughts on the Bears side?
50:56>> Yeah, I mean it started off good in script obviously we saw kind of Caleb but I also want to say uh give Brian
51:02Flores a lot of credit in that game on Monday night. I mean he really altered his game plan from first half to second
51:07half. he was in his bag cuz Caleb was kind of, you know, good, but then in the second half like with he just looked
51:14hesitant to let stuff rip and I think it's because he was confused. Like I think Brian Floyd is just really confused Caleb at the line of scrimmage
51:21last week. So, uh, I want to see some more of the sample build out against other defenses. Kelvin Shepard in his
51:27first game really he did what Aaron Glenn did. He took over for Aaron Glenn and he ran it back. He was like, "This
51:33is the way we played defense. Uh, I'm going to do the same thing." You know, played a lot of man coverage, played You
51:37know, it's aggressive and blitz heavy.
51:39That's >> a ton.
51:40>> Yeah. So, like we we like that for some opportunities obviously against Ben Johnson.
51:44>> They were dead last in in EPA on on Bliss dropbacks, though. Like, it didn't work.
51:49>> No, that's what Aaron Glenn always did, too.
51:52>> Like, remember Aaron Glenn never we just brought up the Josh Allen thing with Aaron Glenn?
51:55>> Yeah.
51:56>> You know what's not working? I don't know, man. This is what we do. This is what we do.
51:59>> Yeah. Like blitzing Jordan Love is not like a great idea. He's really split, >> right? And in the end, Matt Laflur is
52:07gonna like like that the the Mick Shanny tree like they want you to blitz them.
52:11Like please put our guys in isolation.
52:13We're gonna scheme the hell out of some dudes open. And last night like was the same thing. Dan Quinn fell for the bait.
52:18>> Like you know it's like a man but I really like if that's the approach if we believe this is what the Lions are going
52:24to do. I love this spot for Roman Dunes.
52:27Like I really love it. Yeah. I I mean his and because like when you look at the first read stuff and everything like
52:33Zakius was too too much involved but >> yeah he was >> Adun operated as the anchor but I also like you know Dunay like he led the team
52:40in in route participation you know targets open year but he Brian Flores you know because he doesn't play a lot of just ISO man but when the four drop
52:49backs it was only four again week one were going to be silly samples he got targeted like Caleb gave him a shot he
52:54got targeted on 75% of three of the four and it's like we're gonna because I feel like if you're thinking from like a DFS
53:00angle. We want the shot plays. I want the money the money plays. I think that's still going to be Rome. I think
53:05that he is going to be the kind of the like the he's going to be getting the type of stuff Jameson Williams was
53:12getting last year with the Lions and maybe like a little bit more of like where it's blended together. And then >> they're Marvin Harrison.
53:19>> Yeah. And then you're going to see DJ Moore kind of be more of like not the full Aman Raw stuff because he's not
53:24going to start, but like you saw him moving in the back field in week one and like doing some other stuff like he's
53:28going to get more of like the like the the creative type of stuff where Rome is going to be running I think a lot of the
53:33big boy routes >> and I think the big boy routes if you're going to blitz and play man coverage that's where the big boy routes like
53:40have upside.
53:41>> Okay. I like that call a lot. Not not one that it jumped out to me. So I I'm uh I'm excited about that angle. Um
53:49he the the Dunce stuff I mean he he did earn targets out there. He didn't have uh well he he did he did have a screen
53:58pass but it went for negative yards. Um >> Marv got Marv got one screen too and it went for I think one yard. It was like
54:04well is this why they don't do it or are we happy they did it?
54:08>> Right. Exactly. U but you know he faced a decent amount of double coverage. So did DJ Moore had the most double
54:14coverage of anybody um last week. 47% rate, but Adun was at a pretty high rate, too, at 34%. So, uh, if if he's
54:22going to, you know, be going against Blitz, more one-on-one stuff, he did have a 20% targets per out run, which is
54:29pretty solid. Certainly a lot better than Moore, who was at 13% 25% target share last week for Dunay. So, not like
54:35a super exciting debut, but definitely, I would say, more positive than not. So, I like that call if he's going to have
54:41more double coverage.
54:42>> And that was my kind of takeaway from the Bears. I know a lot of people had doom and gloom, but I thought they
54:47showed some optimism, reason to be a little bit more excited from LA where we left off a year ago. And then I just
54:53really want to give a lot of credit to Brian Flores, man. Like >> a lot of people have been put in a
54:58blunder by Brian Flores.
55:00>> It's true. Um the the tight end stuff on Cole Kitt was out there 70% of routes. Coulson Loveland just 48%. So I think Lovelin's
55:10going to take this job, but uh we we got some we're going to have to wait. We got to be patient here.
55:13>> And that was the story of week one. And we try to harp on this stuff because a lot, you know, a lot of your content you
55:18guys do with your audience is similar to mine where like you're telling people to get these younger players and you know,
55:23and you're trying to emphasize like, you know, you're getting them at these non-starter prices so you have a little bit more leniency to maybe not thrust
55:30them into lineups. And it that varies for some guys. you know, obviously you're paying prices for like Trayvon and and starting price for those guys,
55:36but like guys like Luther Burton and um you know, essentially Lovelin and some of these other guys uh that we'll touch
55:43on, but we knew it's going to be a slower burn and you have to be just you have to have a little patient. Like I
55:47know people are probably frustrated with like Golden and because he had the two opportunities last night that could have been cashed in, but like it's just just
55:53going to take time for these guys to earn their reps. Uh we saw with the Texans guys, right? Like a lot. We're
55:58not going to talk about that game, but like they just didn't trust those guys on the field yet and that we try to
56:03emphasize >> play Justin Watson over over them.
56:06That's >> I was like, look at I'm I'm writing that game up because I'm doing the Mondays this week and I was like, there's a
56:14couple couple Ola BC Johnson's we got here. Uh Xavier Hutchinson.
56:17>> Yeah. So, you just have to be patient.
56:18You just got to be patient.
56:19>> Got to be patient. You gota be patient.
56:21>> Um >> all right, let's talk Patriots Dolphins.
56:24>> Yeah. uh where do we have to be patient with Trayvon Henderson or can he just play >> uh way more this would make me happy. I
56:33think you have to be at least for the week one guys you gota be kind of bullish I think of what happened at
56:38Trayvon right >> I think so I mean he so he only had a 35% snap share uh Stevenson was at 65%
56:46but Stephvenson did not look good and Henderson looked awesome uh and Henderson had uh six targets and five carries on just 25 snaps so very very
56:57heavily involved when he was out there and I noted in the walkthrough This was a team I know they were terrible last year, but they had an
57:05eight and a half game win total. You get Rael coming back May in a second year.
57:10Like there was optimism for this team.
57:12For them to lose to the Raiders in week one as like not the way things were supposed to start. They they did not
57:17look impressive on offense. They weren't protecting May well. Like all this stuff looks concerning. People aren't going to put up with it. I think I think they
57:25could be pretty quick to make some changes and Trayvon Henderson getting on the field way more would would be like the most obvious change right now. Like
57:33I'm not sure what they do in the in the receiving game. Like they don't Kyle Williams probably isn't ready. And uh
57:39you know Bouty is is I guess the number one but not a very exciting one. Diggs is probably going to get a little
57:45healthier over time but who knows with him. Uh Deario Douglas had negative yards. So, it's just like there's just not any playmakers here except Tayvon
57:55Henderson. And you do go get a Dolphins defense that um both looks terrible and had the highest blitz rate last week.
58:03So, so maybe there's opportunities for like, you know, blitz beating, big play, explosives. Uh I think this is like one of those spots where
58:11>> I'm I came away from week one being like crap, the offensive line still sucks.
58:15It's not like as bad as last year, but it's not good. May, it's going to be a problem for May all year. Um, but maybe
58:21not so much this week where the past uh the pass rush for the Dolphins last last week was pretty anemic and um that was
58:28including them blitzing a ton and so you you're like can't protect, can't get explosives for the Patriots, but this is a matchup that could kind of cure both
58:36those uh those issues.
58:37>> Yeah. And the the only minor good thing the Dolphins did defensively was kind of stop the run. So it's like that's not a
58:45signal for Aandre, right? like it's not you're not bullish on that. Really disappointed in Josh Dan Josh McDaniels week one. I mean just nothing creative.
58:54Uh nothing to help his young quarterback out. They used pre- snap motion 30th in the league. When they did use pre- snap
59:00motion, he actually because they ran so many plays. The the rate was lower than like the raw counting total. Uh when
59:06they did use pre- snap motion, Drake May nine of 13, 8.2 yards for pass attempts and his passing touchdown. They were
59:1117th in play action rate. uh you know so on static dropbacks and I I label this static dropbacks are plays without
59:18motion or play action.
59:19>> Uh Drake made QB25 in rating uh 58.6% completion rate 5.4 yards for pass attempt with an an interception like you
59:29have to have some dressing in today's NFL like you have to show something uh you know you have to show something pre-
59:35snap. You have to alter the defense. You can't you can't just drop back and throw. and in the state of this
59:39offensive line where it is right now and the state of their playmakers like you you you have to help them out. You have
59:45to help Drake May out. So like to see a little bit more of that.
59:48>> Uh I did come away like looking under the hood cuz I I played Drake May last week and I never got to Bouty and then I
59:55was like well why didn't I get to Bouty against the Raiders? Like I was super down on the Raiders secondary and I was
60:01into May and then and and you go back to last year he when May played this was what Boody did like he led the team in
60:09air yards when May played the final month of last year too. Uh going back to last season I mean is he's now been a
60:15top 20 scorer in three of his past four games >> like and like it's he outright won the job from Kyle Williams. Kyle Williams
60:22ran five routes. Diggs is still clearly in a ramp up role. We talked about this last week that they were going to ease
60:27him in. He'd have a high target per route rate and then not have a lower purchase rate. Demario Douglas still looks like a limited player. He looks
60:34he's okay, but like he's not he's not anyone like you're scared about. And then we're facing this Dolphins defense that was okay against the run. Blitzed a
60:41lot. It kind of feels like it feels pointy on the surface for Boute. And he and outright could be because like the
60:47target stuff's like not flattering, but the types of targets he gets and the style of defense the Dolphins want to play, it kind of feels okay to give him
60:54another run.
60:56It does. I think to to be fair to us, I mean, his like his open score last year was was horrible and you know, like in
61:04line with like Michael Wilson, it wasn't actually that much above Jaylen.
61:07>> It probably will never be good though, right?
61:09>> It will never be good. He doesn't get any separation. Like his his whole deal is like May cuz he had some great plays
61:15last year, but those great plays were May's plays. Like he's the ball comes the defender's draped. the ball needs to be placed like in a bucket, you know,
61:24into his arms into in the end zone. And May hits those throws and it's beautiful. But, um, this was a little
61:31bit more encouraging last week where it seemed like he was actually getting used more of the middle of the field and and
61:35kind of like more in like kind of a true number one way. So, maybe he's taken a step forward, but that is why I I do
61:43have him on a 555 actually, but normally normally I wasn't drafting him. Um, and yeah, it's like it's it's just because
61:52it's like, man, this dude, talk about a guy who's used by necessity last year.
61:58The thing is, maybe he's need maybe he's needed as much this year and maybe he's taken a little bit of a step forward.
62:04Still a young player. So, I agree.
62:06>> He had some pedigree. I mean, he was a fivestar recruit, a good >> pedigree like early in his college career.
62:12>> And then, yeah, he had the ankle injury, some off-field stuff. never really kind of you he had like poor combine like it
62:17kind of sank his but also like the stuff that sank him like it could be a thing where he just needed time like right I
62:23don't know maybe I don't know maybe it's coping but like uh >> u right now I just think in the short
62:29term he's kind of like their answer for what the Dolphins are going to present because Diggs isn't going to be at 100%
62:35yet. Uh they're not going to put him out there. Like I said, Douglas is okayish.
62:39Like, you know, you don't really want to run your passing game through him. Like, >> it's kind of like your point on a Dunay,
62:44like this is he's their big boy routes guy.
62:46>> Yeah. And it feels like this is the runway and and you know, okay spot for Henry. I like the angle of doing like
62:52cuz May Bouty and Henry together as a stack a double is like sub 30% of your salary cap on both sides. And then you
63:02can run back something fun. the other side of the ball because I think a lot of people will get back to May because
63:07the Dolphins defense just allowed uh the the Daniel Jones offense to score every single possession. So, I think people will get back to May.
63:15>> The Dolphins are the fun thing about this game. So, I'll I'll let you kick it off. Well, I'll let you kick this off.
63:21You can kick this off. I don't want to kick off the Dolphins.
63:26>> I'm I agree with you. I just don't think it's fun.
63:29>> No. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Maybe that's the wrong adjective to place on it. Uh but we talked about last week when we were
63:34going to going into that game, we're like it's going to be a completely binary take.
63:38>> Yeah.
63:38>> Like when we get to Monday, everyone's going to have either the Dolphins were really good and everyone says it's okay
63:45or the house is on fire.
63:47>> And we we got one of those two.
63:50>> Yes. Uh I will say in uh >> it's fun because you could tell the people that like read uh Ben's stuff and
63:57like like read mine. Uh, we kind of had similar takeaways though from the Dolphins.
64:02>> Uh, >> it wasn't as bad as it looked.
64:04>> It was not. And I know, and I'm not saying it was good either, but I'm just saying it wasn't as bad as what it
64:09looked. And I'm just And this is just me just at least presenting. You don't have you could because I this could be 99%
64:14coping this all is absolutely on fire.
64:17And I think that's probably going to eventually probably play out. But in context of week two and flop lag spot like stuff, nobody wants to hear the
64:25other side. Like people aren't open to it, right? Like this. And so I at least want to present it and then take away
64:29what you from what you will. So Miami has two bad possessions to open the game. They turn the ball over immediately on two drives. They have a
64:37an overthrow interception and they have the the strip sack fumble. Immediately they're in a hole that and like the game script the game is thrown into like a
64:44weird state. On their third drive they actually drive all the way to midfield.
64:49They stall it. They have to punt and that was it. They had three possessions in the first half. They're down 20 to
64:52nothing at halftime. The opening drive after halftime. They get all the way to midfield. Tua throws a second interception on the bat. The drop uh the
65:00drop in coverage by Lu. Terrible. You can't let it you can't let anyone named number 97 intercept you ever were. It's
65:07against the rules. Like it's against the rules. Never seen it. Big Lou. Big Lou put him in a blender. Didn't see it. So
65:12they give up points. So then they get they're down 23 nothing. So they go but then they drive all the way down the
65:18field again. They go all the way to the Indie 30. And because they're down 23, they have a turnover on downs. They have
65:23to go for it. They get the ball. all the way down the field is kind of like well you start at the 50 now so
65:28>> then you go >> you go then they go 65 yards for a touchdown in the last drive of the starters they averaged over five yards
65:35per play after the first few drives the starters did >> and the first team never played again so it's like again I'm not I'm not trying
65:41to say like hey this was the old Dolphins I'm just saying like you know there was something here and especially the underlying metrics uh especially for
65:49the receivers like particularly Tyreek Hill and he led the team with a target on 27% of his routes. In the first half,
65:56he had 43% of team targets. He had 59% of team air yards, and he was at uh through three quarters, 2.4 yards per
66:03out run, which is massively elevated from where he was last year. Now, the Dolphins just didn't run any plays.
66:09>> They, you know, this team again, they, you know, they just didn't run enough plays for that to stand out.
66:14>> They pulled the starters at the end. So, you've got >> Yeah. And a lot of people will look at the box score and see the raw targets
66:19and they'll be like, "Oh, going back to last year, Tyreek's been under 50 yards now." like four of the past five games.
66:25But if the Dolphins had play volume, like those rates would have looked a lot different and the target rates would have looked a lot different. Does that
66:33happen here? No. Christian Galile is already ruled out. No team gave up more explosive pass plays in week one than the the New England Patriots. They're
66:41another team played a lot.
66:42>> Trey Tucker.
66:44>> Yeah. To Jack Bes on two targets or two routes run like uh you know Dante Thornton like you know those guys. So
66:51again, take away what you were there, but like I am 100% still playing a lineup with Tyreek Hill and we have this
66:58weird Miami factor, right? Like so we have the week one factor and maybe the Dolphins don't fit into this because they're just going to be terrible and
67:05it's all going to be scorched earth.
67:07These teams that get blown out in week ones typically do come back and play well in week two. Even last year,
67:13Cleveland, Washington, the Jets all got blown out by double digits, come back and win in week two. The Miami is we're
67:18doing an early kick Miami game and which is always like a spot we look for because the Dolphins have this weird
67:24home field advantage that I can't believe they're even allowed to have because they're not going to wear their dark uniforms. They're going to be a
67:30home because in September they wear their white uniforms. The stadium is built so the opponents are stuck in the sun the whole game. It's supposed to be
67:3790 degrees at kickoff, too. They're like Yeah.
67:40>> And it's going to be humid. It's going to be humid. And like if you just have two teams playing man coverage and like
67:45this because even when these teams played last year in like the the lackluster version of the Dolphins, they scored 34 points on the Patriots two
67:52through four touchdowns. Like I'm at least in a single entry like single entry like I'm stacking this game. I absolutely am. No, I was just on uh with
68:01with Neil Orfield and and Squirrel Patrol and and and Davis and we were um >> I was like we talked through all the
68:09wide receivers and no one mentioned it and I was like all right I mean Tyreek we got to talk about Tyreek you know and
68:15it's like we kind of made promises to our as analysts like it's it's like it's going to be binary. We're going to find
68:20out 100% for sure if the Dolphins are good again or horrible. And then when they're horrible, >> we don't play Tyreek. We're never we're
68:26not chasing it. And then this week two, it's like, well, they were horrible. But hang on, they weren't as bad as
68:30everyone's saying. And actually, I'm still playing Tyreek. So, it feel it's like it feels awful. But I think it's the I honestly do think it's the right
68:38move. Um, >> I need one more bite. One more bite of poison. I need one more taste of poison >> cuz the thing All right, there's sort of
68:48two things happening here. If you look at if you look at the first free throws for Tua last week, 75% of them there
68:53only 12 of them, but 75% of them went to Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Wadd or Devon Achan.
68:57So con >> Z Howard talked about that. Did you see it?
69:00>> No.
69:01>> So Zen Howard said who was with the Dolphins obvious, you know, and played for is on big league.
69:06>> Oh, I think Yeah.
69:07>> He said the game plan was strictly to take two away took take Tua's first read away because when he has to move off his
69:14first read, he panics.
69:16>> That's exact. Like if you look at the numbers like that it could not be more clear that this guy's first read was
69:21taken away and then he panicked. He had a 50% pressure to sack rate.
69:24>> He threw a he threw an interception to a defensive lineman.
69:28>> He like fully panicked but he had he only had a first read throw uh first read attempt on on 44% of his drop backs
69:36back in 2023 when he was cooking. That was up at 58%. Um so that that's a pretty low number. They were
69:42successfully taking away the first read.
69:44They were doubling Tyreek a ton. uh 32% double coverage rate for him. Uh Tyreek still earned targets out there. Uh and
69:52was it wasn't through screens. So um you know I think the fact that Tyreek was was still getting targeted even with the
69:59first read being taken away shows you know he's out there getting open a little bit still not not completely washed. Um but then what if they're able
70:08to actually execute their offense the way it's designed? Uh because Tyreek only had a 9% first read target rate in a game where they couldn't get the first
70:15reads and he was doubled a ton. He was supposed to be the first read, right?
70:18Like he was when they're taking the first read away, a lot of that was Tyreek. Uh because because Wadd actually had a 19% first read target rate. Like
70:26that was that part of it seemed to be working. Okay. So the the Colts took away Tyreek Hill. That was a big big
70:31part of their game plan last week. The Patriots may try to do that. Um they probably will. They they doubled Brock
70:38Bowers at a really high rate last week, but they that didn't work. Um and their secondary looks pretty weak with Gonzalez out again. So, um it's kind of
70:47it's sort of Yeah, it's sort of an obvious bounceback spot for this passing game as gross as it is. I I do I do
70:54agree with you.
70:55>> We do have the two >> I don't want to tell Tyreek Hill, but here we are.
70:57>> I know. I know. We have the two injuries up front with Austin Jackson being out and James Daniels. So, I do think
71:02they're struggling to run the ball and maybe that impacts everything, but uh we'll probably get back the the H chan like PPR stuff. I think it's going to be
71:09bad.
71:09>> He's going to PPR scam. I think >> I don't see like Yeah, I He's like not the PPR scam guy though. Like he's like
71:16by like what we saw at Bejan last week.
71:17Like I don't label that the PPR scam.
71:19Like the sucky running game with a good receiving game isn't always a PPR scam.
71:23It's sometimes just that like what a Chant did last year.
71:26>> He's good. But they used them. Yeah.
71:28They used them on like actual routes and like doing concepts like last week with the like Gibbs ran the PPR scam last
71:34week the check like just checked a bunch of checkowns and like we got out of here uh with like life like we got our 10 PPR
71:40points. U so but I do think we're going to see with with James Daniels now being placed on IR and Austin Jackson not
71:47playing them kind of do a little bit of that stuff with Achan last week because there still was no tight end in this
71:53offense and we're not we're not replacing that. So that's the other element too that it came out still like optimistic with these receivers still is
72:00like there was still no Janu pivot. It's still these guys. So again do what you will with it. But >> yeah, well you know Darren Waller will
72:08play eventually and uh maybe it doesn't sound like Mike McDaniel finally admitted he's probably just never playing for them. He's like yeah we'll
72:15see if it gets to a certain point we might need to just move on. Um all right let's uh 49er Saints. Um, you want to
72:24talk about PPR scams that that may have come to an end. Alvin Chimera here, uh, I noted that, you know, he did not have
72:31the target share you would have expected. Um, but then then again, like his EPA, uh, per per target last year was horrible. And so maybe it's just
72:42really smart to not throw a ton to Alvin Kimera. He finished running back 30 in EPA per target last year. uh only JK
72:50Dobbins, Tony Pard, and Chuba Hubard were worse. So, it actually doesn't make a lot of sense to design your offense with a ton of Alvin Chimera throws. Um
72:59Chimera was uh used, you know, decently as a runner, but wasn't he had a 27% success rate. So, so not particularly
73:07strong. Uh that's actually like really bad, but his his um breakaway yards were were good. His rush yards over expected were good. So, overall, not a terrible
73:14rushing performance. But that was one of my takeaways that maybe Chimera is like kind of scamming his way to PPR value is
73:20a lot more fragile than we were thinking. And then obviously on the other side, Brock Pery's out. Christian McAffrey is just going to get absolutely
73:27fed. What are your thoughts on this game?
73:30>> I I'm a little more I think interested than people are on the surface because the pace was so high for the Saints. Uh
73:35you know, the Saints seem like they're just not going to be like a boring team.
73:38like I came out. They're not going to be good, but I feel like we're going to be able to like have spots where it's like
73:43they're not going to be dead to us like they were last year.
73:45>> They're not they're not trying to like lay down. They're not trying to like roll over for people, you know?
73:49>> And and Kell Moore was doing stuff that like if you have a bad team like you were like encouraged by like he like
73:54again like you said like he's like not just not here trying to get by with like 12 Alvin Chimera targets. He's like
74:00trying to do stuff. He's trying to get Chris Ave free. He's trying to get Jan Johnson involved um and do those things.
74:05And then then they played fast. say the fastest like seconds per snap in the NFL and the 49ers oddly ran a lot of plays
74:12in week one too and some of that was just the efficiency wasn't as high but it's like this game maybe could be a
74:17little bit more sneaky for play volume than you would think on the surface. Uh it's only again we only have our oneweek
74:22sample so it could totally that could just be whatever where you look back on it like oh whatever but uh the 49ers are
74:27going to be so concentrated though it's what makes this game interesting like I mean M Jones might complete 20 passes in
74:33this game but 18 of them might be CMC and Ricky Pearl like like you can theoretically stack M Jones and those
74:40two guys if you wanted to I don't think you necessarily have to go down to Mac Jones but like because the salary still
74:46isn't like as needed if it was like in the middle of a season but you can >> 4,000 on DraftKings though.
74:51>> Yeah, it's 4,000 and it's Kyle Shanahan.
74:54>> He's like this is Mac. This was the manifest destiny. We were supposed to have this four years ago.
74:59>> Like it was supposed to be.
75:01>> Now granted, we don't have George KD or Joan Jennings. We like that to be involved too. But like >> yeah,
75:06>> we're getting schemed up M. Jones with CMC at min pricing. Ricky Pawol is was he had when Jennings and KD came out of
75:15the game, Piol had 31% of the team targets. So it it's gonna be a two-man game. Like Jake Tanis is not is not
75:24gonna get like a 20%.
75:25>> Is that what it is? Tonis reading it as tongs in my head.
75:28>> Yeah. He never his his careerhigh in college was 278 receiving yards.
75:34>> Um that was his first catch in the NFL.
75:36Well, his first catches in the NFL were last week. He's been in the league for three years.
75:40>> Wow.
75:41>> Yeah. They had what with Charlie Warner was their their blocking tight end last year >> and then he signed Luke Ferrell this
75:47year.
75:47>> Oh, Luke Ferrell. Okay.
75:48>> Yeah. Luke Ferrell's there. Uh Eric Sabbert this year, remember?
75:52>> Oh yeah. Yeah. One of the one of the Denver's many Erics.
75:58>> But yeah, I mean it's just jam your 49er. I mean the the CMC thing is hilarious though. Like we ran the whole
76:04roller coaster of emotions last week.
76:06Like when I got off the show like after >> just for him to just get absolutely fed.
76:14>> 30 dude he had 30 expected fantasy points. Oh, it's wild. It's wild.
76:20>> He had the most fantasy points scored last week without a touchdown.
76:23>> He Yeah, he had he had 23 fantasy points and sucked.
76:30How do you do that?
76:33And and that's probably the worst defense he'll face for the next month.
76:38>> Or the best. The best. I'm sorry. The best. The I'm sorry. Yeah, the best.
76:41He's like, you know. No, I Yeah, this is this is a a much much softer matchup. Um yeah, I mean if dude like if if Purdue
76:50was playing in this game, it would just be like all right, I guess CMC is going to like cruise to 33 points, you know?
76:57Um and he still might.
76:58>> I might play just CMC and Bree Hall in 100% of lineups and let I honestly might do that. I honestly
77:05>> I love that you're in on >> I've kind of just like laid that out.
77:08There are a couple other running backs I'm like mildly interested in, but I think I >> It's not that great of a running back
77:12slate for for DFS. Not a ton of guys pop.
77:16>> No. And then the guys that are tracking to be popular early, like Tony Pard, like I get it. It's like whatever, but
77:23like Yeah.
77:25Uh, anything else on this game or can we move to I wanted to ask you about uh is that we'll I guess we'll say we'll save
77:33the the Cardinals until we get to >> just the Jan I think is interesting versus >> Yeah. Yeah.
77:38>> because you know last week because I want to talk about him in context with you with Fan because last I think we
77:43might good cop bad cop this as opposed to last week where I was we we we took the opposite approach. I tried to sell
77:49you on Fannon last week and you kind of were like ah no and then I think this week >> I just said don't play in Jooku. That
77:55was my >> fair my way of playing Fannon was to fade in Jo.
77:59>> But this week obviously Fan is tracking to be super popular and I kind of think objectively Jawan Johnson's a better
78:04play than Fannon >> because just because you you're getting a guy that's not coming off the field in a game that could run a lot of plays
78:11versus a guy that is probably good because Fannon, you know, he's still at the 65% route share. You love all the
78:16scheme stuff. you'll have all the stuff like there's nothing wrong I think if you need the $500 difference.
78:22>> Yeah. But I think if like one guy's tracking to have triple the ownership the other guy which is where we are now
78:26I think that's kind of a mistake because the other guy's just not coming off the field.
78:30>> 96% route participation.
78:33>> That's wild.
78:34>> And and like if you know what I mean like they're going to throw and we saw like Kell Moore like actually get stuff
78:38for him. He had the he had the two red zone targets and the end zone target and it's like that still might not be a
78:44fanon thing like even as much as the use like the usage he might not still be like an endzone red zone guy and it's
78:50like and the other guy is just going to be triple owned. It's like I feel like that's a misfire and if like I feel like
78:56that's a chance to get leverage.
78:58>> Yeah, because it's not just like like Jawan Johnson was out there all the time but he also had a 19% first read target
79:04rate, 23% targets per out run, 27% target share. So it's not like, you know, he's not Kate Atton where you're just like, well, he run, dude, he ran so
79:14many routs. Like, no, he was actually involved. He was a part of the offense.
79:18>> Um, now Fannon, he he also had a 19% first target rate, 29% target sprout run, only a 22% target share compared to
79:2727 for for Johnson, but obviously still very excited.
79:29>> You could just spin this into Browns.
79:31Like you could just >> Yeah. Yeah. You roll it. Um, but yeah, I think I mean I'm I'm excited about Harold F. Like his debut game is rookie.
79:40Uh, no, not to say that you're not, but it's it's um >> I want to eat some of this chalk for
79:45sure. I I think the Jawan Jensen Johnson uh pivot is is very sharp, >> but man, >> and this is Friday. Like, we could be
79:54here on Sunday morning and the projection looks different.
79:58>> It could um Yeah, and the ownership could could shift, but um it's hard.
80:02It's hard to see how Fannon isn't pretty popular. Um maybe popular. Yes.
80:09>> Yeah. Um but I don't know. I mean Johnson his 36. So you save 500 on DraftKings down Fannon.
80:18>> And they're the same exact price on FanDuel.
80:20>> Okay. Um maybe FanDuel is is the spot to really pivot because like you're talking about with the touchdowns. Uh >> yeah.
80:29>> That would track too. That would track.
80:30>> Yeah. Um, >> yeah, I guess it comes down to what does that 500 get you, right?
80:36>> It's a pretty soft uh slate again, so you might not really need it. Um, and if you can pivot and get off the ownership,
80:43it could be a really sharp play. Um, but to go to Fannon, like he was getting all the stuff like to me this is like
80:50terrible for Enjoku because all like kind of the underneath, you know, Injokuy things like he was doing that but better and then he was also out
80:58there like earning targets. that one play where Flaco's like kind of going along the sideline and he sees what's happening and breaks downfield and he
81:04hits him. Um that's just like you're like dude this guy looks he looks dialed in. He understands this offense. He understands where to be. Uh and they're
81:14using them, you know, out of the back field. They're using him on screens.
81:16Like it's just very very bullish. Um I do wonder as well like how good is this Ravens defense? Like we were expecting
81:26to be awesome but obviously Josh Allen good until three they were real good until three possessions. Like >> yeah, they were good, right? That's
81:32true. They they were good and then they weren't good. Um but you know, the the Browns threw a bunch. I that was one of
81:40my big questions. Uh what does the Tommy Reese offense look like? What does Kevin Stansky do as a play caller after it was
81:47Ken Dorsy calling plays during the uh the Jamus Winston explosion? But they were they were pass heavy. They they leaned into uh a game that called for
81:55passing. They had a 70% pass rate on a 65% expected pass rate. So that that's pretty exciting. It's not going to be
82:01Kendorsy level where they're just chucking it constantly. But this isn't a team that's like overly focused on on trying to establish it. I think they
82:08kind of understand who they are. Um, and this matchup is going to put them in a spot where they need to drop back. So
82:13there should be volume. And then Fannon is like the type of dude where I'm not really expecting like he's kind of in
82:20this sweet spot I think where he's both going to be like a key part of what the Browns are trying to accomplish, but I'm
82:25not sure that the Ravens are going to try to take that away because it's more like underneath kind of outlet stuff.
82:31It's it's not like he he's a good Yak player, but it's not like big explosives that you got to like rob the the
82:36opposing offense of. So >> yeah, >> he he's kind of a perfect >> bet on bet on passing volume type of
82:42play and there should be that uh this week.
82:45>> Yeah. And then you know what happened with him and and Samson, you know, definitely tied into what we talked about with Al Golden, like his
82:51structurally like way he played the Browns and that's why, you know, uh those guys are so involved too. Um, the one thing that I do want to call out for
82:59the those two players, Fannon and Samson specifically, is the raw target stuff is again the oneame sample is the Browns ran 22 more plays than the Bengals did.
83:07>> We're probably not going to see that here or on a weekly basis. Like they're going to be pass I think they're just
83:13going to be a pass heavy team because I don't know if they can run. If you listen, they their longest running back
83:17run against the Cincinnati Bengals was five yards on 21 attempts with running back runs. Like if you if you're doing that against the Bengals, you're
83:24probably just going to swerve into being because I think Kevin Spency's a smart deal. He understands the strengths and weaknesses of the team
83:29>> and he's just going to say we're better throwing the ball. Like we're better off throwing the ball. Um >> but you think we have Judkins here
83:36because that that would maybe change things.
83:38>> There there's he there's rumor he was practicing today. We'll see if he's up.
83:42I think it's going to be a small if he does play it. because remember he hasn't done anything like he's been with the
83:46team like he's he just >> so I mean granted your your rocket Sanders run out for the touchdown isn't going to happen again but
83:54>> if you're chasing that no one is chasing that but but but to bring that back is I I even I don't think that they're going
84:00to have run 22 more plays than the Ravens because I just don't think they're going to because the Ravens look like an absolute freaking death star
84:06again. They do >> like the these these guys man like even no likely no Ricard like they shift it doesn't even matter man like these dudes
84:14like and like so I just don't think the Browns are going to be like get in and off the field like they did against the
84:19Bengals and then just have like these long possessions pick up these third downs right again they had the nine they had the most third down uh conversions
84:26in the league in week one and they had two fourth down conversions like they kept having the ball and converting that
84:31probably doesn't happen here to the degree it did in week one and that's just where I would say be hesitant on
84:35looking at those target counts that Samson and Fannon had and saying, "Hey, if the if they get down to like say 65
84:41plays, like that's where the participation stuff shows up and it maybe isn't as quite as a raw target runout that you have." But I do believe
84:48they're going to be pass heavy because I think that's who they're going to be. I think so too, unless Judkins kind of
84:54gets up to a full in future weeks gets up to full speed and and you know brings a downhill element to the to the run
85:01game that they can lean on. Um but they're not going to force it. They've got Jerome Ford and Dylan Samson. And
85:06Samson was awesome as a receiver, but uh he had a 27% success rate, which is is quite bad. Minus 12 rush yards over
85:13expected. Like you're just going to you're just going to waste possessions if if you're trying to you're trying to run the ball a bunch.
85:20>> This whole layout this whole layout wasn't great in week one as much as And we'll see. Maybe he just takes over and
85:26he is the passing down like he just is the passing down back and it's just Judkins in the early down role and then
85:31it's maybe it just gets >> I think that's possible. Yeah. And I think we probably will get there at some point. I just don't know if they roll
85:37back kind of like some of the stuff from week one. There's a lot of fragility there. I mean, he he only ran 15 routes
85:42on a team that dropped back 48 times.
85:44Like if they if that drop if they go to 36 drop backs, that stands out a lot more.
85:50>> Yeah. He had a 53% targets per hour run.
85:53>> Yeah.
85:53>> So there like that's not going to >> If you're doing that as an offense, that's not like that's just not good
85:59offense.
85:59>> No. No. Um, what about on the the Ravens side where like the Browns the Browns weren't like a huge runfunnel last year,
86:07but they were a little bit they had a 54% pass rate against them, which is which is pretty low. Uh, the Ravens or
86:14sorry, that that was last week. Um, but they they were a little bit of a minor run funnel last year. Ravens uh had a
86:2146% pass rate last week. They were leading for a bunch of that game. They obviously were were very runheavy last year as well. So, to me, it sets up
86:30pretty well for Derrick Henry, but then you also have the potential for I mean, Lamar Jackson, dude, he's he's just so
86:36so awesome. So, >> he can he can overcome any matchup. I don't think this is like an extremely tough matchup. Good pass rush, but the
86:45the Browns defense isn't like something that you have to fear as the Ravens. So, uh Lamar could obviously go off. Uh
86:52Squirrel Patrol is saying that this is his favorite uh stack. Really, Lamar's favorite quarterback for sure. And then he likes Zay Flowers here a lot too. I
87:00mean, Flowers, >> this was maybe like if if we look back, if Flowers is the league winner, we're going to look back on week one as being
87:07like, "Yep, he he came out right away and had a 50% target share and had 6.5 yards per out run and we all got
87:15distracted by, you know, JSN in a small sample." And, you know, why why weren't we more excited about the guy on with
87:23maybe the best quarterback player?
87:24because he's been a good >> he's been a good player and but maybe now he's taken a step in his third year
87:29which is you know something players do all the time.
87:32>> Yeah. I mean I my hesitancy with flowers at kind of ADP was just always that I was like oh I know this dude's a good
87:37player. He's shown he's a good player.
87:38It was just like kind of like with Garrett Wilson is like the volume stuff right? It's just like, man, he's going
87:42around these guys that I know are just going to probably run a 100 more routes than him and, you know, have a shot to
87:47get 35 or 40 more targets than him and, you know, he's never been utilized near the end zone either to this point this
87:53year. And he to be fair, he wasn't in week one either, you know, so it's like maybe we still have that run out. But
87:57this particular matchup, he's one of the guys that popped in week one because usually week two DFS or week two in
88:03general for like prop betting or anything is you you the over and under reaction to what happened in week one. I
88:08don't want to underreact to Z Flowers week one though because of one we're still not going to have likely or Ricard
88:15probably. So they're going to be a little more open to playing more three wide receiver stuff and throwing the ball and then you have the structural
88:23defense of what the Browns want to do against the Ravens playing out to what Z Flowers is good at it. I mean we saw
88:29this last year in the two Jim Schwarz games they blitzed Lamar Jackson 34 and 36% of the time. He wasn't even
88:35particularly good in either game against Jim Schwarz either. Uh he only completed 55.7% of his passes for 72 yards per pass
88:43attempt, but he still had over 20 fantasy points in each game because he's Lamar Jackson. Like so he got there, but
88:49remember the second matchup is the game Flowers got hurt the week 18 game. He wasn't available for the playoff game.
88:55But the first time these teams played even with Denzel Ward, he had uh 53% of team area yards, 34% of team targets. He
89:02had 12 targets that game and went over for 100 yards. If when the when the Ravens play these like man coverage type
89:08teams like this is they're usually big signals for Zay. So I he's a guy I still want to go back to even though like
89:14people might be like oh this is chasing the points for a guy that's not like you know a team that might not throw a lot.
89:19Everything still kind of lines up for him to come back with no likely the Browns being aggressive. It makes a lot
89:24of sense to go back to him.
89:27>> Yeah. And it might be sort of technically chasing the points, but I don't think people are going to be like
89:32super psyched about this this game environment. You know, it's it's it's not one where you you know, the Ravens defense people are still going to
89:41respect them and >> they score so many defense, >> right?
89:45>> The Ravens score so many points that and it's like their defensive metrics probably will never look as good as their actual defense is.
89:52>> Right. Right.
89:54Right. But I mean that isn't that where you want to chase the points where >> Yes. No. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
90:01>> Yeah.
90:03>> So yeah.
90:04>> And I think on the Brown side like even because like I still think you could even talk yourself into saying like yes
90:09this could be a 300yard Joe Flacco game still like >> totally >> it could be like there like the drop back they're going to have to throw.
90:16They're not running on the Ravens. If you couldn't run on the Bengals you're not running on the Ravens like >> Yeah. Yeah. I
90:23>> So like Tilman like this guy like these guys are kind of in play again.
90:29>> Yeah, I like that. I like that call. Um let's go to let's see what what haven't we done? Uh I think there's one more
90:38early game that Oh, Rams Titans. We need to do Rams Titans and we still need to do Seahawks Steelers as well. Um
90:45>> yeah, >> the uh Titans passing offense did not look good. We knew it would be bad.
90:53>> We knew it would be bad. They're going against the Broncos on the road, but uh was still still horrible. Uh Cam Ward in
91:01EPA per play was like twice twice a Will Levvice, which which is bad because Will Le is negative.
91:09He was he was like way worse than Deshawn Watson and success rate last year with you know Watson was worse than
91:14the league. Uh so it was it was you know a fullfledged failure um in his first game which is understandable but does
91:23leave me a little bit worried about their ability to bounce back this week because they are going against a Rams defense that has a really good pass rush
91:31had a good pass rush last year maybe building on that strength. Uh I think this is going to be another difficult
91:35matchup. Not as difficult but yeah I I'm not super excited about um the Titans ability to bounce back. Calvin Ridley wasn't really getting open last week,
91:46which you know, tough match up for him.
91:48But, um, they were feeding EL. I can never say his name.
91:52>> I I say it different every time I feel like.
91:55>> Yeah, I say it different every time.
91:56That's why I'm like, as I'm saying, I'm like, how will I say it?
91:59>> Why are there so many vowels of this name?
92:01>> I don't know how to say it.
92:04Um, but he had Yeah, he had a 25% first target rate. They were like fully feeding him. He He also had a 1.9 yards
92:11per target. uh the Brian Thomas yards per target from last week. So, so we didn't get any production there, but he
92:17was like a key part of what they were doing. Maybe that's they're just like avoiding the matchup with with Ridley, but um I don't know. It it's it's not a
92:26spot that I'm very excited about. Uh although I do expect Ward to be at least better than last week. I'll note uh
92:32Chica Conquil ran 82% of routes, so he does seem to have a full-time role.
92:37>> Yeah. Yeah. And JC Laam's going to be out for this. He was already rolled out today earlier. the right tackle. So,
92:42like you're not excited about them being able to stand up against the pass rush cuz he was pressured at such an alarming
92:46rate uh you know on the road in Denver.
92:48It's probably a little bit better this week, but the Rams pass rush like still just destroyed CJ Stout and whatever Nick Kay was trying to do uh last week
92:56on the field. And what was that exactly?
92:58>> Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot of question marks there. Uh this game's super simple for me. There's there's one dude I'm
93:03excited to play and it's it's our one true king, Poop Nua. uh thing last year because I tried to sell you on Dvonte
93:10Adams last week a little bit and >> they used Puka >> and they just moved Puka to the slot. I was like, "Oh, I like I like this." I
93:17was like, "Man, I really like the spot for Devonte Adams. He's going to be running the slot against the Texans even
93:21since it's good outside." And I never once occurred to me that Shawn McY would just be like, "Oh, you know, our really
93:26good guy, like what if we just had him absorb some of the Cooper Cup role and he played a career-high 53% of snaps in
93:31the slot where he caught he had seven receptions in the slot." Here's where we left off with Puganua. Last year, this
93:38man was targeted on 37% of his routes.
93:41It was the No one has ever been higher since they've had this information.
93:44We've had this information. And immediately in week one, he's targeted on 50% of his routes. This This dude This dude had 11 targets and 130 yards
93:54in a game where he ran 68% of dropbacks.
93:56He was getting stitches. He was getting stitches. Yeah. Like he would even play the whole game. like this and I I think
94:03on draft until this guy's over 9K he should be like you should just and if you if you're a cash game player like he
94:09you just auto you every week you just start your lineup your cash game lineup with Pukaku on DraftKings until he's like 95
94:15>> like there's just no reason not to uh because proof is in the pudding that Shawn McVey can just get this dude the
94:22football whenever the hell he wants like just >> 91 yards he was going dude in these FFPC drafts he was going in the second round.
94:32>> I know, man. I know.
94:35>> Second round of draft kings because of the Stafford back stuff. People were panicking.
94:38>> Our last team we And maybe the Stafford stuff comes back to haunt us. Whatever.
94:42The last team >> I don't even know if it does, dude. Like Garopppolo could get this guy like >> Yes, >> he could he could have three yards per
94:47hour run with Garopolo. I mean it. I mean it.
94:49>> My last team I drafted on FFBC, I picked 107 and got CD Lamb and then Puka Dakua.
94:55I mean, I feel like right now like and great this is going to be terrible.
94:59probably it ends terribly, but like I look back because I never moved Pukanaku in ranks because I never wanted to move
95:05him back. I didn't want gamers. I don't want it to be the thing where I was like, hey, because it was mid August and
95:10it's Matthew Stafford and like the Rams have always been like a really progressive sport science team. Like they've been handled player injuries
95:15like pretty well even when they had him and I'm like, man, I just don't want to dock Pukanua and then Stafford's back
95:20and I just move him back to wide receiver three again. So, I just left him and now I feel good about that.
95:25>> Yeah, that's we we moved him down a bit.
95:28You know, it's it's best Paul. You got your portfolio approach. Obviously, I wish I didn't.
95:32>> Um, but yeah, I have a bunch. I I kind of held strong with with Nikua >> because I was taking over Neighbors and
95:38I kind of >> I and then Neighbors flipped them. CMC flipped them, Neighbors flipped them and then like the Nico one was kind of held
95:45strong for a while.
95:46>> Um, and so I have a pretty big, you know, for a first round pick. I'm like I think I'm twice the field on Nua,
95:53which feels good. Um, yeah, he's he's gonna crush. And and by the way, he had a 32% double coverage rate last week.
96:0183rd percentile.
96:03>> Doesn't matter.
96:03>> Can't take him away. You can't take him away.
96:07>> That's all this game though. That's it.
96:09>> Speaking of guys in the Puka Nakua role, uh JSN looks to be in kind of that same type of like you're just getting
96:17absolutely fed. He had a double coverage rate in the 93rd percentile, but he had 5.39 yards per route run anyway. Uh 57%
96:26targets per outr run for him. 59% target share. Now, this was like all very small sample, not just cuz it's week one, but
96:33they didn't throw much.
96:35>> So, it's easier to get, you know, over half of the the the targets when there just aren't that many targets. U but
96:42Cooper Cup was like a full-blown afterthought. He had a 14% target share in this game. Um there's there's no passcatching tight end really. I mean or
96:51there's kind of a committee there.
96:53There's there's one playmaker right now in this offense and it's JSN. Uh Steelers just got lit up by by the Jets.
97:00Uh I think my concern for for this game is that the Steelers also couldn't stop the run and the Seahawks uh do seem to
97:08be very much built on the run and last week were were passing uh or sorry were running when they really probably should
97:16have it. They weren't even good at it.
97:18>> Yeah, they weren't good at it and they weren't in the game script to do it.
97:21They had a a 66% expected pass rate, which is the 12th highest of the week.
97:25They lose the game and they passed just 51% of the time for a minus 14% pass rate ever expected. So, this this seems
97:31like the stubborn caveman stuff where you where you lose like a man. And so, you know, I don't have a lot of faith in
97:39them dropping back to pass um in this game. And you know, given that they're they're going against Arthur Smith, maybe maybe they don't need to. Maybe
97:46it's it's kind of less foolish to to commit to the run. Um, but JSN is just going to get fed whenever they drop
97:53back.
97:54>> Yeah. And JSN's a guy who just gets to progressively taking steps forward.
97:57There's no reason to doubt him. If there's anything that can kind of be a fly in the ointment here is that it's a
98:02similar layout potentially maybe for the Jets in week one. Uh, because the Steelers had a bunch of injuries during that game. Joey Porter Jr. left the
98:09game. Deshawn Elliot left that game.
98:10Linebacker Lee Harrison left that game.
98:12And eventually it dawned on them uh during the first half, guess Wilson was roasting them. They were like, "The Jets only have one good guy. We have Jaylen
98:21Ramsay. What if we just put Jaylen Ramsey on their one good guy and then Garrett Wilson only had he only had 27
98:28yard only two catches the rest of the game. And it's like could that happen here where just like we don't respect
98:33Cooper Cup, we definitely don't respect AJ Bar. We definitely don't respect Tory Horton right now. Do are we just going to like last week we started to have
98:40success and we just put Jaylen Ramsay in the other team's best dude.
98:43>> Maybe we do that again. Uh yeah, that would be the kind of the one thing. But I that's I mean JSN's going to have
98:49another they're going to run this offense through him >> 100%. And it's working like it's it's the you know >> Yeah.
98:56>> type of stuff where you're trying to take it away and he's he's able to get open um and and consistently get
99:04targeted. So yeah, that that part of it's exciting. What are your thoughts on the the backfield split like the Kenneth Walker stuff? He he both was in more of
99:13a split than we thought and he he had a bad game. He had a 20% success rate last week. Like really really bad. Uh he did
99:20have a 14% target share. Again, not a ton of targets to go around, but that that's nice. Charbonet wasn't targeted.
99:27Um but Charbanet had a 46% success rate.
99:31And if like if the the reason you would play Charbanet over Walker is because you're like look I know Walker's maybe
99:38more explosive but I can I can lean on Charbanet like he's the guy we can like if we want to establish the run.
99:45>> He's not going to run you into outs.
99:47>> Exactly. Yeah. So >> well the fact that it's a split already is terrible news for Kenneth Walker and like anyone that has him like it's just
99:55the fact that it opened as this 5050 split is really rough. Like >> it's really rough.
100:00>> And and if this is the split, like why not just why isn't he like the trade guy? Like you know, why aren't these
100:06teams trading? Like why just make him available now and just let it be a sharp thing. Uh because you have you have
100:12control.
100:14>> He'd be kind of fun on the Texans or the Cowboys >> on any like a lot of these teams, you
100:18know, that that need a you know a back to go get just for a rental for >> Not the Bears because because my my hot
100:24take would be he's basically just DeAndre Swift.
100:27>> Yes. Yeah. Not the best. He gives you those three runs a game where you're like, "Yeah, this dude's got it." And
100:32then they other like 12 runs you're like, "Oh, >> man. Just lost four yards, man." Like, come on.
100:39>> Like, um, but yeah, it's kind of just real messy. It's hard to diagnose. If you do have Charbanet, like, you know,
100:46obviously he now has immediate best ball value because he's getting more work than you thought. And then if you have on your roster and like a dude's out or
100:52something, like you at least know he's getting touches. But it's kind of a messy overall while it's a 50-50 split because we still need to proof. We still
100:58need proof that they can run the ball successfully. Uh and we'll see. They did the Jets did run it and they run a
101:04similar, you know, a lot of outside zone and stuff like that, but the difference is the quarterback runs involved with it. And when you don't have to respect
101:09Sam Darnold, you defend it differently.
101:11Uh you know, Steelers slide that count for Justin Fields except for the fourth down. Like everyone knew I was telling my son, I was like, "Dude, just there's
101:18no way Justin Fields isn't running this ball." Like no, they ran that bootleg and he was just like into the inside.
101:24>> Yeah. I mean, come on. Like, it's just Yeah, you're you're letting them. Yeah, it's ridiculous.
101:28>> Yeah, but other than that, it's just, you know, and even the the Steelers stuff's hard to parse out from week one
101:33because it's all Jamo. It's no one you're excited to play in fantasy. Like, I mean, Calvin Austin stuff and like the
101:39probably the the thing you got to be the most mad about like is you're like a a Rogers like honk from like years four.
101:45Like, it took Arthur Smith to get him to believe in the offense. Like Rogers was doing stuff he's never done. He was turn
101:52under center play action passing. He's like he's been vehematly against this stuff, dude. He was roll out. He had three touchdowns from outside the pocket
101:59like on roll outs.
102:00>> Yeah. Bootlegging >> the most of his like he had never done this stuff. He like you're telling me he Arthur Smith's the one guy to get Aaron
102:07red ass Aaron Rogers to buy into his system.
102:10>> Like what?
102:11>> I know. You know what's hilarious though is that within that context, you know, where they're Calvin Austin, he's got a
102:1815 A dot and they're they're taking shots to to Ben Skoric. Uh, talk about names I can't say. Um, DK Medaf had a
102:264.1 A dot. It was it was all just, you know, he he actually had 2.52 yards per outr run. Uh, 25% target share, but
102:36yeah, not not particularly exciting usage for for DK Metaf here. Um, tight ends were in a split 50.
102:44We didn't talk about it with the Jets and the Bills. The Jets might be one of those teams you target for uh like wide
102:50receiver 2 production because they use sauce the shadow metaf but it didn't do anything. Like what's what's the point of using Sauce Gardner shadow DK Metaf?
102:58You're like cool we won the we took your guy away and it's like yeah well you get let Calvin Austin roast you like what
103:04was the victory? Like where was the victory?
103:08>> What what are your thoughts on the Kenneth Gainwall usage? That was that was strange and was really like they open he fumbled and then that kind of
103:15brought Warren back in, but it almost seemed like Kenneth Gainwell was just a straightup starting running back.
103:20>> It felt like that early on, but it's Arthur Smith. It's hard. You I mean it's hard to know.
103:24>> He was bad. He was like legit terrible.
103:27>> Yeah.
103:27>> And and Jaylen Warren comes in and instantly looks better. It was so shocking, right? Like Jayen Warren literally has been a guy that's lived on
103:33efficiency like like small sample efficiency over a larger period, >> right? Um it immediately was better then. So you would hope there would be
103:40some you would hope there would be some self scouting involved but it's Arthur Smith who we've been here before.
103:46>> Yeah. Um >> I would still hold still too. Obviously it was the terrible run out for Caleb Johnson as worse as you can dream up.
103:53But like Gainwell was so bad.
103:57>> He was and I don't know. I mean, it depends for me like what we're talking about. Like if FFPC or something like absolutely like
104:05you're you're holding Caleb Johnson, um they will give him more run, but I think we're going to be waiting a while. Like
104:12>> Caleb Johnson versus like Cam Scataboo, I want Cam Scataboo.
104:15>> Yes.
104:16>> Uh Caleb Johnson versus Bashalt Tutin. I want Bashalt Tutin now. He he's in that type of uh of bet and I think it's a
104:24less clearcut picture of like how he gets like tootin now that the the bigby trades happened like he's a clear handcuff you know he's that like obvious
104:32sort of Zack Charbanet like would would take on maybe not quite as obvious because because he wouldn't have the third down stuff that goes seems like
104:39it's going to go to Allen but but yeah it's just like if Jaylen Warren got hurt we would see more Caleb Johnson but we
104:46would see a bunch of Kenny Gainwell clearly So, be you got to be patient.
104:50You got to have the you got to have the bench spots for for kill in shallower leagues. I I don't think be crazy to cut
104:55him. Um you're going to be waiting a while.
104:58>> Yeah.
105:00Uh all right. Broncos and Colts. Um we've got uh the Colts defense here looked awesome. Uh the Colts, sorry, the
105:11the Broncos defense looked awesome. The um >> the Colts >> Colts looked awesome, too. Yeah. Uh so both teams coming off really good weeks.
105:18And then the Colts offense looked great.
105:20Bo Nicks looked like sneaky terrible.
105:22You want to talk about like a team that maybe looked worse than people are kind of the perception is like his his EPA uh
105:29and and success rate basically the same as Tu was last week but uh you know he's going against Cam Ward so uh that that
105:37wasn't the high that wasn't the headline from that game.
105:40>> Yeah. But real rough for Bo Knicks and this is what kind of he did a little bit last year that was kind of under the
105:46radar. We kind of talked about it a little bit uh last week about just kind of like yeah very boom bust. We like
105:52more people thought he's like it was like hey you're paying QB8 pricing for like what might be the QB8 like there's
105:57no gain there like you're get you're drafting a backend QB1 as a as a backend QB1 like that's not really the way to
106:03draft a position. Um and then he comes out like we then we were kind of optimistic for like the game environment. We're like well at least
106:08the game environment like positive he's going to be like playing like ahead and he almost put them behind early on. He
106:14did play better in the second half u than he did in the first half, but like it's just very tough to have a lot of
106:20faith in him, especially against a Louisiana defense that just, you know, mixes things up and does a lot of things differently. Uh you feel good about like
106:27the Sutton stuff. He walked right back into like his where we left off. Like he had Sutton and then they're going to
106:32play some guys behind him. Uh and maybe it tightens up with Evan Ingram ends up missing this game. Maybe you see like a
106:39larger run out for some of the other guys. But >> for it to get looser.
106:42>> Yes. But it's literally just Sutton in the passing game. And then I wrote up the back field. I'm curious your take as
106:48like the way you're spinning the backfield in week one depends on who's on your roster. Like people are going to do the people are going to do the glass
106:54half full for either guy, right? Because people are going to be like, "Oh well Harvey, like it was early on. It was a
107:00clear split. Harvey led the team in yardage on only seven snaps. Like they're going to have to play this dude.
107:06He was so explosive." And then people are like, "Oh, I got my 16 touches with Dobbins. I got the touchdown and he was
107:11the closer." So it's like that's I feel like people are just going to treat the the backfield, but the one wild card was
107:17they used Taylor freaking Batty >> like in on these passing downs in the first half and like that's a nightmare for both guys
107:24>> because it makes Dobbins >> a guy that has to score a touchdown and then it makes Harvey kind of a guy who
107:30has to score a touchdown or have like a huge play and we'll see how much that is a thing. But this is the same stuff that
107:36like Payeyton's done this before with weird dudes, right? like Traverus Cadet and like like we don't want that. We don't want that at all to happen.
107:46>> Yeah. He's had a lot of threeman committees in over the course of his career, you know, in his backfields.
107:51Even when Chimera was a rookie, it was I want to say it was like Ingram and Chris Ivory maybe were also involved like
107:58>> Well, they had uh AP and then he got traded after a month. That's when they traded him and then it opened the door
108:05because I've been writing up like Harvey as like hey in September you better be prepared for this guy to get single
108:10touches every game >> and then like >> you nailed that >> and then you hope that and you hope that he's creating explosives to the degree
108:16like cuz Kamar Kamar was in a similar fashion where he was like 11 touches, seven touches, nine touches and then they were just like you know what, we
108:24got to get this dude on the field more and like that's kind of like the door that opened. But that's what you have to
108:29hope for. Like you have to hope that Harvey just keeps turning in like a big play per week.
108:34>> Totally. Yeah. So, oh, it was Ingram and uh and then yeah, Peterson was was gone.
108:41So, that that resolved to a twoman. This should resolve to a twoman, too. There's no reason to play Tyler Bedet. Uh like
108:4814% target share for him. I think, yeah, I think the correct takeaway from week one for Dobbins and Harvey was uh oh,
108:57like there's a third guy here that's not good. Um, I think from from Harvey's perspect like if you were counting on
109:06him for early season production, that's obviously not there. Um, I was more bullish on that than than you were. And >> but I still wanted him like I was
109:14drafting him. It's just when I was drafting him, I was trying to follow him up with like an ETN or like a some dude
109:19>> and and he was he was easier to do that like like Henderson, you know, was jumping into like the the like the third
109:25round sometimes or the fourth round. Uh we actually took him in a main event in the in the third round. So, you know,
109:31all looking for the guys who did this, but >> I still think Harvey could be an end of the season hammer. That's why
109:36>> Yeah, but he and he was he was easier to draft that way because he was going in the sixth uh you know, best stuff still.
109:42So, >> you'll be fine. Like if you have Harvey, I wouldn't panic or anything, but uh you know, you go from like the preseason is
109:49like you're trying to keep the macro.
109:51All the money like pretty much whatever league you're doing, unless it's like the eliminator, it's all about the end of the season. That's where all the
109:56money's made. So trying to keep the long view and then you just like get to inseason, it's just like zoom way in all
110:04the way in. And from that perspective, Harvey is probably going to have single digit touches and and not be someone we want
110:11to touch right now. Um Neil Orfield did make the case for him as a a D a DFS like big I don't
110:19swing but >> because when it happens we won't know preemptively. It's just it's just going to happen. So you keep biting at the
110:26apple until it find like you because when the bottle when the genie's out of the bottle everyone knows. So if you're
110:31trying to win like a lot like you kind of trying to play ahead now you might be doing that a little.
110:35>> You know what I mean? Yes. Yes. Yeah.
110:37You kind of got because once it's out it's out like it's not getting put%. So, I understand his theory of like trying
110:43to just, you know, hey, small field like I'm or large field, I'm gonna take some shots and 1% own.
110:48>> Yes. And you hope that you're that it's the week it flips.
110:52>> Yeah. No, I think that's I don't know if it's week two, but maybe >> maybe. Yeah, it's going to be some week
110:59though. I I mean, he looks he looked really good.
111:01>> One of and Dobbins was largely bad until the very end of the game to be fair.
111:06Everyone was. The offense was bad. The entire context of the offense was bad.
111:10Yeah. Um, >> well, we can't be six targets to Tyler, but >> no. God, like come on, Sean. Like, we get like you're smart. You're very
111:21smart. Everyone thinks you're smart.
111:22Like, please, please, for the love of God, play your best players now. Just play your best players, man.
111:31Uh, Harvey hit 20 plus miles an hour on that run. uh Derrick Henry and >> and I love that he did it on a
111:38nonoutside run because you know people watch that first preseason game they're like look at the corner star RJ Harvey dude had an awesome read in the middle
111:46made a dude miss in a in the box made and then exploded like I I love that it was on that style of run.
111:52>> Yeah. Uh Travis ETN I wrote I wrote it was Travis Hunter. It was Travis ETN uh and Derrick Henry the only other running
111:59backs to hit 20 plus miles an hour.
112:01Caleb Williams actually did it twice.
112:03I saw someone tweet that it was Caleb Hims is out here with a rushing style that's fast Patrick Mahomes and I was
112:10like that is what he is. Yeah, that's why he was so that's why people were so excited about him coming in. Um,
112:18>> all right, let's go to uh the Colt side.
112:21Yeah, >> this is this is kind of fun because when you think about when you're in the offseason, it's hard to like fully be in
112:30the mindset of of matchups, you know, like week to week. Like you're like, what is what is Daniel Jones? It's like,
112:35well, you know, he's like >> he's going to be kind of this and you think like he'll always be this and then
112:40week one shows up and it's like >> the projection was awesome. I wasn't that into him. Like this dude sucks.
112:45Like what are we doing?
112:46>> Yeah, I didn't play either.
112:47>> And you know, he crushes. It's great.
112:49But then you go >> there. Anytime Daniel Jones is popular with a field's on Daniel Jones, I'm probably not gonna hold
112:54>> I'm gonna be out. I'm gonna be out.
112:55Yeah, he's gonna have to prove it to me every single time. But he did prove it to me. Uh this week though, you're like,
113:00"Oh, not going to work." Uh this this defense is really really good. I think one of the things that's important about
113:07this matchup is that the Broncos are really good against the run as well. And uh the Colts were super runheavy. They
113:14were they big big playaction team last week. 43% play action rate, highest of the week. Lions led the league in 2024
113:22with a 36% rate. Um, so 43% is very high. And you you've got um, you know, some of the rushing efficiency last week
113:32was actually from Jones himself. Uh, and you had Giddens getting some run with with Taylor missing time. Taylor will be back and and healthy for this game. But
113:40this is a much much more difficult rushing matchup and they're going to try to work off of the run game. And you
113:47know, the run game's not working. You got Daniel Jones going against a really difficult passing matchup. This just looks like a spot. It's almost the
113:54reverse of like these offenses that that got blown out and now they look good.
113:57>> Yeah.
113:58>> This one could just like Oh, the Colts actually kind of suck.
114:02>> Yeah. I mean, the the the Colts scoring on 100% of their possessions and having their most points per drive in any game
114:09that better than Pton Manning, better than any game in Andrew Luck in the regular season that they ever had. Is that a Daniel Jones stat or a Dolphins's
114:15defensive stat? Like I don't I I tend to believe >> if it's Colts, I'm giving it to Stiken.
114:20That's Stiken more than Jones.
114:23>> I I am a little bit interested in Jonathan Taylor in large field just because people like I think look at the
114:29matchup. I really liked the the receiving outs kind of had and we didn't get to see it on full display because of
114:34the game script, but before he left the game, he was uh third amongst all running backs in route participation >> and we saw a little bit of targets, a
114:43little bit of dump offs to him that you just weren't going to get with Anthony Richardson. Um, right. So, I did like
114:47him because I think he's a little bit out in the receiving game and then we know he still has the explosive run play
114:51stuff like he could and he had 100 yards against Denver last year. Remember, this was the game where he dropped the ball
114:56going into the end zone. Uh it was it was the Denver game. So I kind of like him a little bit in large field stuff
115:02just because I don't know if people maybe avoid him because of the Broncos.
115:06And then uh I'm not going to follow the Pitman stuff even though I was into Pitman last week because just the
115:11matchup, but I am very much into Tyler Warren this week.
115:14>> Yeah, me too, >> dude. We were in the same spot last year, week five. Brock Bowers is on is like on fire. Everyone's playing Brock
115:22Bowers and they're like, I'm not playing against the Broncos cuz it's the Broncos. and he opens the game up with a
115:2757 yard touchdown. He goes over 100, he has 97 yards in the game. We have a player that was drafted in the first
115:35round that got 31% of the team targets.
115:38He was targeted 38% of his routes in week one. Like he was the dude and like he's not even getting played this week.
115:45He's not tracking for any interest. And I want to play him. I want to play him.
115:51>> Yeah. I we didn't really even talk about him on the DFS show and that that was a mistake not to mention
115:58him and I think I'm probably overlooking him. Um >> especially think the receivers aren't getting targets like against the Broncos.
116:06>> Yeah. I mean the the the reason he's not going to be popular like the projection is not gonna be great because he's going
116:13against the Broncos.
116:14>> You have Trey McBride at 6,000 on DK which is cheap for for what he could be.
116:20Um, and then you have Harold Fannon down at 3100. So, at 4,500, Warren is kind of in no man's land, and it's a bad
116:28matchup. So, it's just like kind of hard to it's like, what's the why would I do this? I you would do this because he had
116:36a 38% targets per out run, 29% first read target rate. And in in stealing signals, Gretch was was talking about how this was the RPO stuff where you get
116:47more of a first read because there's no second read. It's, you know, it's it's run pass. And so he's if you're going to
116:54pass the ball, it will be to Tyler Warren if he's installed in that role.
116:58And, you know, that's what really um powered Michael Pitman two years ago.
117:03And I thought I I Pitman was a huge fade for me season long last year because I I thought people were kind of out over
117:09their skis assuming that that usage would continue because he wasn't all that great and DS had really flashed and DS did get more of that stuff last year.
117:16But DS has got this hammy wasn't really involved that much uh last week. Pitman Pitman looked to be, you know, the
117:23number one wide receiver last week. Um, and Warren, who they just took and were, you know, very excited about and is a
117:30really good Yak player and makes a lot of sense to have in this type of role, like that was his role. So, uh, I like
117:36looking at the first read stuff because I think it it tells you, you know, what the offense is trying to do and, you
117:41know, those targets are going to be a bit more sticky. But this is, you know, as Gretch was was underlining, this is
117:46an even stickier version where the, you know, the RPO stuff is running through Warren. So, >> um, they'll they'll be still doing that
117:54this week even if, uh, the offense takes a step back. Um, he's I mean, DFS, I I think he he's a really interesting under
118:01the radar call. Like that a lot. But like for seasonl long stuff, like immediate prior adjustment, like this this dude is locked in tight end one
118:10going forward.
118:11>> Oh, yeah.
118:11>> Way underdrafted. Uh, one of the big I don't have nearly enough of him in baseball. One of the big big hits at
118:17tight end I think already. Uh, as as much as I'm kind of thinking, you know, the Colts offense is is gonna look way
118:24worse this week and and we'll probably feel like we were a little too excited about them after week one, the Warren
118:29stuff feels real.
118:30>> Yeah, 100%. Man, and and same thing with Fan and like when you have a guy that has just decorated of a collegiate
118:35career and immediately gets usage right away, we should probably just be like, you know what? Let's not overthink this.
118:40Let's not overthink. Let's not overthink the thing. Like like man, sometimes it can be simple. like we're >> Yeah, it's true. It's nice actually.
118:50That's why I was with the fan and stuff.
118:51I'm like, you're telling me that this guy's the most productive and efficient college tight end in history, >> but it's point like this, so we can't
118:59draft them. What if we just draft him?
119:01>> What if we just exactly week one, they're they're utilized. What a concept. What a concept.
119:07>> It's a beautiful thing. uh Panthers at Cardinals. Um with the Charbanet Walker stuff, uh that it seems like there's kind of general consensus that it's sort
119:17of like, oh man, not good for for Walker. I have a little bit of that same feeling with Connor where he had he had
119:2444% of the team attempts. Uh he lost eight attempts to Trey Benson. He had 12. Uh you know, he wasn't that great,
119:32Connor. Um Benson was was pretty explosive, but that that part of it is not such a big deal to me. one game,
119:38>> right?
119:39>> But I, you know, they talked about using Benson more. There was like the we have two RB1 stuff kind of things floating
119:45around. Connor seemed to to be aware that Benson was going to get more work, but they've they really seem to like
119:50Connor. And so I was thinking, sure, Benson maybe gets a little bit more work, but this is still going to be
119:54Connor's backfield.
119:56It it kind of wasn't, you know, it was it was more of like a 1A1B thing. I see him projecting pretty well this week,
120:02and I'm I'm sort of like, why why is he projecting like Connor? I don't know.
120:07May like where are you at on this? Am I on an island? But I'm kind of worried.
120:10>> I'm a little more positive. I kind of want to give him one more run this week.
120:14I've been kind of debating between him and and JT is who I want to be like mix into the pool like aside my brief and
120:19CMC. Um because like you said, true to their word, they've mixed Benson and more. He had Connor had 60% of the
120:25running back runs. Um last year it was 67.6%.
120:29So he he shed a little bit. But one thing that kind of flew into the radar I think while everyone was kind of harping
120:34on that is they completely folded out Amari de Marcato and that so Connor gave away ground in the rushing department but he picked up all of D Marcato stuff.
120:44He was on the field for 55% of the dropbacks the previous two years in Drew Psoning's offense it was 46% 42%. So
120:50what happened was he sacrificed runs between the 20s which we kind of don't care about for fantasy football. Yeah.
120:57And then he's picking up more routes which could potentially lead to more targets. And he still had every high value touch in the run game. He played
121:03every snap inside the 10 yard line. So I feel like it might be a little overblown if he just loses like these you if if
121:09that's the role. Like if if if he's only losing touches between the 20s that are handoffs, I feel like that's okay. I
121:15feel like it's not doom and gloom. I feel like not the it lowers a little bit of the ceiling, but like you kind of
121:19don't feel as like bad about it. And then like we talked about a little bit with the Jaguars, like the Panthers run
121:25deep, they rolled back, but they only had the worst run defense in NFL history last year. They spend a lot of money up
121:30front and it didn't help. They actually lost Ters Warden in the game. He's going to missh probably about four weeks because he's not even playing in this
121:36game either. So like he like So that's why I want to give it one more week because he didn't lose high value
121:42touches. He actually picked up potential to gain more highv value touches in the catch department. And then like you have this matchup where it's the Panthers who
121:49were bad against the run and then lost one of the guys they paid for to stop the run in the game. So I'm willing to
121:54kind of say like I want to let this one still have one more. I want Okay. I want to have it. I want to see more of a
122:00flesh out.
122:01>> And he did he did have a 14% target share. So um yeah 55% round participation which is running back 13
122:0914% target share. One of the things too about the Cardinals that would kind of back up your point here about the
122:15potential for more highv value touches for him is that they actually did pass a decent amount. They had a 3% pass rate
122:21over expected. They were at minus 2% last year. Um and they didn't really need to do that. They were playing the
122:27Saints so they could have they they were in the kind of expected pass rate territory where if they wanted to like
122:33dictate the run they could have, but they played things pretty balanced. They kind of played like the Raiders last week. Um, similarly to to the Commanders
122:41and the Dolphins, like they didn't really lean into the run. Uh, which which could end up being a positive sign for the way they're going to play
122:49offense this year. Maybe put a little bit more on Kyler Murray because they last year they were and we talked about
122:53this last week. They were like so kind of like it had to be both working simultaneously and maybe they're willing to prioritize the pass a little bit more
123:02which would all I mean I think that would be good for Connor especially if he's on the field more on on drop backs.
123:07Um the passing game for the Cardinals, I'm sure you saw that missed throw to uh Marvin Harrison.
123:15>> Yeah. Yeah.
123:16>> Yeah, that was a bummer. Um but he >> I mean I had I had the I had to because we talked about last week doing the
123:23inverse playing the Cardinals passing game in tournaments because Connor was tracking to be popular.
123:26>> Yep. Yep. Yep.
123:27>> And yeah, we didn't we it was just a small run out. It was it was not winning anything.
123:33>> Um he had a 21% target share. McBride the clear number one at 29% and 97% of routes for Trey McBride, man. He's
123:42that's awesome for a >> you you said that was the kind of the breaker like with him and Bowers.
123:47>> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he looks like the tight end one right now. Um obviously Bowers is is nursing a knee injury.
123:53That's part of it, but uh dude, you just you just don't get better than that. 97% route participation like and and routes
124:00are valuable at tight end. Like great tight ends are down at 80%. you know, so to have him up that high, it just makes
124:07makes those raw targets, you know, so much more likely. Um, which is what we care about ultimately. Um, yeah, so he's
124:15and he got used on screens as well. He had a screen near the goal line, didn't score, obviously. Um, but, uh, yeah,
124:21McBride looks so so locked in.
124:24>> Yeah, I I love him here in this matchup, too. See, I mean, you're encouraged if you had Marv like they did some stuff.
124:29At least they at least did stuff, >> right? Right. like, you know, he he won a contested catch, too, which he didn't
124:34win a lot of contested catches as a rookie. Um, and he he won that on the 45 yard play that he had. They threw him a
124:41screen. He didn't do anything with it, but they tried. And then on the touchdown, they actually ran like a mesh instead of him just like winning because
124:46a lot of his end zone targets last year where it's a lot of the stuff where it's like want just win the contested catch
124:50stuff. And they didn't do that. But we saw >> Why does he have to have like his dad's offense, you know, like why can't he be
124:57>> It's always so hard, man. we evolve.
124:59>> But even even with him getting some new stuff, everything still felt so hard.
125:04>> Like it still felt hard. Like it this feels like like nothing's easy ever. Um and then we talked about a Gyro Viro the
125:13Panthers bringing him back and he did the same thing he did last everything he did last year he did in week one.
125:18Literally uh played league high rate of cover three, 60% of passing plays. Um last year Marvin Harrison Jr. really struggled against cover three. uh only a
125:28target on 17% of his routes. In week one, they had 11 dropbacks against cover three and he only got one target on
125:34those dropbacks.
125:36>> Uh guess who has the complete inverse splits? You probably can guess because they only throw two guys because they only throw two guys. But uh yeah,
125:43against cover three last year, McBride 29.8% target rate per out run, 32% of the team air yards, over three yards per
125:51out run. So they weren't even wasted.
125:52And again on those 11 dropbacks against cover three in week one, Trey McBride 31% target rate per out run over three
125:58yards per out run is like right all right in line with where we left off a year ago. So it is if you do want to pay
126:04up for tight end and just not get caught in like the hey I'm not even going to make it a decision between you know
126:10playing for paying down for Fannon or Johnson or Brentton Strange or the midame with Tyler Warren like this this would be a spot to just go ahead and try
126:19to hammer him. He'll be pretty chalky, but I think it makes sense. The pricing's soft and >> he's there's no tight end.
126:27>> And KD, there's no Bowers or KD.
126:29>> Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, it's al also one of like in small field stuff where like even if one of these other dudes spikes
126:36up like how much they really even can be played like Warren if it's Warren it'll matter. He he looks to be tracked for a
126:43little bit of ownership but like I don't know like if if Jonnu Smith gets in the end zone like >> Yeah. It's it there's not a lot of tight
126:51ends that people are even playing and McBride will be will be definitely one of them. But he he might be just like a
126:57dude you need at 6,000 on DraftKings. I think a very strong play. Um the All right, last game Eagles at Chief
127:05>> I say just one real quick just because the T stuff we we're probably not playing T but T felt like Marv last year
127:12like there was like a potential for a big game for T in week one. There was like a lot of whatifs and he had even
127:18one come back off of like a weird bindman downfield for no reason. But everything felt really hard for T McMillan. Like
127:27>> yeah, we we skipped the Panthers entirely. It's I guess if you can't put up points on the Jaguars, I might I
127:31might forget to talk about you in in this podcast.
127:33>> I say I'm still like kind of optimistic for tech because like the usage of it felt really hard. All the targets felt
127:39gave with a high degree of difficulty.
127:41that that was I was optimistic too on based on the usage, but um yeah, don't don't love hearing that it looked hard.
127:50Um but yeah, I mean he the numbers are pretty good. Uh 23% targets per out run, 20% first target rate, 1.94 yards per
127:57out run. The other dudes in the off like Xavier Lette is nothing like he I mean part of >> what those guys combined for uh they had
128:0513 targets and 21 yards. Yeah, he had a 0 0.32 and 0.33 yards per route run.
128:14They couldn't even get to one combined.
128:16Uh and then and then Sanders was out for 65% of routes and and not really targeted much. He had just a 10% target
128:22share. So it does feel like if you want to say, you know, the comparison to the Cardinals, McMillan might be kind of
128:30>> there's no McBride.
128:31>> There's no McBride. Like he is the McBride.
128:34>> Like he's both, you know, >> he's both. So that that part of it's nice at least. Um >> yeah, I'm still optimistic.
128:42>> I saw Yeah, I'm still optimistic. He looked fine. He was actually behind the defense on one ball that Bryce didn't
128:47get off. So if we have that, maybe it looks a lot better.
128:51>> The the Chuba Hubard receiving stuff was nice, but I I noted in the walkthrough that um he actually had four plus target
128:57he had four targets. He had four plus targets last year in 10 of 15 games. So it actually wasn't that uncommon for him
129:04to have uh four targets. it's that he posted 0.51 yards per hour run last year. He passed 0.80 uh just one time all of last year. So
129:15this past week he was at 1.68 yards per hour run. He had the long run. Um that was really that him doing anything as a
129:23receiver was what was different. He has gotten a little bit of receiving usage.
129:27Um I >> you and I would have gotten >> you and I would have gotten probably like 11 or 12 yards on that on his uh
129:35his touchdown. We know it was over there.
129:38>> It would have been embarrassing how few yards, but it wouldn't have been none.
129:45>> Yeah, I can guarantee you it wasn't going to be the 27 he got 27. It would not. Um all right,
129:52>> bring us home here.
129:54>> Let's go to the Eagles at Chiefs. This is a game where um I was I was talking with Davis and and he was just like
130:02because I had some excitement for the Eagles side and he's like so boring.
130:05>> I talked to him earlier. He's completely out. He's like he's so he's so in the the tank for the Chiefs now. He's just
130:11like this is over.
130:12>> I know. But it's a sad Chiefs fan.
130:14That's that's what's happening. And he's thinking about the whole game like he's thinking about the Chiefs offense. I'm thinking about the Eagles offense as
130:22being explosive. the type of team that can it can have explosive in the run game that can that can actually put up
130:28points even as a runheavy team quickly.
130:31And so I I don't think this has to be uh you know a slog because that's how he was kind of worried it would go. Um,
130:39this is this is a Chiefs defense that had the seventh highest blitz rate last week. Uh, and wasn't really getting much
130:45pressure and was looking pretty bad in coverage and it currently ranks dead last in drop back success rate and 31st in passing DBA and 28th in EPL upper
130:55dropback. So, I think you can pass on the Chiefs. You can also run on the Chiefs. This defense might just be a
131:01liability. Like that. That was one of my takeaways after week one is like maybe the Chiefs defense is a problem. And uh
131:07this sets up I think really nicely for Saquon Barkley and AJ Brown and Devonte Smith and Jaylen Herz. Like this I I
131:14could see the Eagles just kind of rolling here. Uh the Chiefs on the other side are probably going to be doing a
131:20very boring like I I agree with Davis on that part. Like I I I think it's going to be, you know, just the underneath
131:26stuff and probably having to incorporate Kelsey more cuz I think the Eagles are probably going to be double teaming Maris Brown, which is not going to go
131:32great for him. Um, and so we'll see some like Juice Muster and some really boring Pacheco stuff. So that side of it, I
131:40think, will be a little bit of a slo, but the Chiefs will pass. You know, they if they're down, >> it's what they do. It's what they do.
131:47>> Yeah.
131:47>> Even when it's bad, they've never wavered.
131:50>> They've never wavered. They never Yeah.
131:52And and you know those there'll be some incompletions that'll stop the clock.
131:55You know, we'll get we'll get play volume on the Eagle side, I think. Um and explosiveness, which is which is what uh we're going to need here as
132:04well. But I think we'll get it. I I like this as a as a bounceback for the Eagles passing game, but I also think this
132:12could be a blowup spot for Barkley. But this is this is a spot where I just I think having some exposure to the Eagles
132:17this week makes a lot of sense. Yeah, I I'm still in on this game for potentially to stack it, too. Uh it just
132:24has to be better. Kevin Patula's got to do a better job than he did in week one.
132:27Uh we saw, you know, Jaylen Herz just literally not I mean not look like anything like 34.8% of his passes went
132:35five or more yards in the air. It was the lowest rate in week one. The the league average was 54.2%.
132:41Um only he he targeted receivers only 35% of the time. It was his lowest rate in a game. 13% of his throws were 10 or
132:48more yards downfield. The next closest quarterback was at 22 and a half percent. So, he's almost half of the next close quarterback. And that's why
132:55he scrambled like Ever just like played soft coverage and was like, "You get come off your reads. We're going to guard receivers." AJ Brown talked about
133:02this because there was like some chatter like, "Oh, well, is AJ Brown not healthy?" And like he kind of shut it
133:07down. Um he did um I think it was with Kevin Clark. He did the interview and it was like, "Dude, he was like, "I didn't
133:13have one man rep the whole game. There was three dudes on me. the entire time he was like I didn't have anything to do
133:19and it's like so you're hoping that's going to be different and we removed Dallas from this game and anytime we because we have we've always had a
133:26concentrated target tree and anytime you've ever removed one of these Eagles the other two Eagles absorb it like yeah >> so I do like the the AJ Brown stuff and
133:35the Dvonte stuff I like Dvonte actually a smidge more I'm going to mix in both because Spags is in the because they
133:42have this like the little mini rivalry going now over like the last three years since they played in two Super Bowls and
133:46they met in the regular season in between that and then they meet here and Spags has always kind of devoted some
133:51resources to AJ Brown u- which you should like to be fair and it's kind of helped Devonte Smith like Dvonte Smith's
133:58been really good in this matchup and u maybe Spags also looked at that like he's a smart dude like Spags probably
134:04could have looked at he's like you know what I've opened up some stuff for Dvonte but he also might just say like I
134:07don't care if Dvonte beats me I don't want the other guy to really put like 160 on me >> and he's okay and he's okay with Dvonte
134:15getting like 90 yards like he you know that might be a thing. So I I'm I'm edging to Devonte in like the tie. I'm
134:21going to mix in both and I think it becomes interesting you know kind of what you want to do with the Chief side
134:26because there are cheapies and they are going to throw a lot like they're going to have to >> they're going to throw a lot.
134:31>> So I mean you do have the Hollywood and the 16 targets. I think Taekquin and Smallfield is interesting because of the
134:38uh the Eagles lost so many pieces on defense and so did the Chiefs. That's why they struggled a little bit in week
134:43one too. Both defense kind of got purged a little bit in free agency. Um, and we saw Dory Jackson get absolutely cooked
134:49on Thursday night, two weeks ago, and they already said he has to start.
134:52Jakoran Bennett, they traded for him from the Raiders. He's just like he only played seven snaps. They're trying to get him involved. But the thing is, if
134:59like Thornton sucks, he's a zero. You don't care. But like if he hits, he had more air yards on four targets than
135:06Hollywood had on 16. So like my thing is like if I'm just going to play a Chief's cheapy, I'm gonna take a D like I'm
135:12gonna take a real punt and take a dude that like if he does something he's probably catching a 40 yard pass and if
135:17he catches a couple he gets to 100 yards like so that's the way I'm kind of playing like the stacking of this game
135:23is like playing through the taekwond stuff because it's also not a good matchup for Kelsey if they want to involve him. The one dude the Eagles
135:30kept and paid for was Zack Bond, >> who was awesome last year in coverage.
135:35And they he's the one guy. They lost Milton Williams. Uh they lost Darius Slay. They lost CJ Gardenner Johnson.
135:41Well, they traded him. Uh but the one dude they said, "We're not losing. We're going to pay up for is literally an
135:48offball linebacker like which you never pay." And Howie was like no. Howie was >> he was like the key to the defense last
135:55week. Last week >> and they he does matter for their structure of defense too. I'm sure Vic was like, "Hey, this dude matters for
136:00what we do." But he also matters for this matchup because he nuked Kelsey in the Super Bowl. Even in jailbreak game
136:06script and then, you know, they only give the 20. They were awesome against tight ends all last year. They gave 23
136:12yards to Jake Ferguson in week one. So even if you want to get Kelsey more than the 10% of the team targets his lowest
136:18targeted target share game since 2017, like it's still not a good matchup to get him involved. So, like I think like
136:25if I'm playing it, I'm just gonna take the shot on the dude that is gonna they're gonna huck some 40 yard balls
136:29to.
136:31>> I kind of like it because the one thing I said with with Maris Brown um he he had very low, not super low, but not
136:41particularly high double coverage rate uh last last week. And you have CD Lamb who who the Eagles were very aggressive about taking away and their whole game
136:52plan as we talked about was like um trying to take away uh the first reads and stuff and so uh the they couldn't do
137:02it. CD Lamb CD Lamb still went nuts. But um with Brown, he I agree with like the way Gretch wrote it up where he was
137:12probably just filling in for like the worthy role because that game plan was supposed to go to worthy and they lose
137:17him right away.
137:18>> Yeah.
137:19>> And that's a bummer because like a lot of I saw people like taking laps. I wasn't drafting a lot of worthy, but
137:23like that's not the spot to take a lap cuz that could have easily been 16 worthy targets and you got shadow
137:28realmed. So >> yeah, that that's like where like you know, you happen to step off the train tracks right before the train comes, you
137:36know, like you don't take a victory lap like >> Yeah. Yeah. Um there's uh there there's another world where Worthy crushed in
137:47week one, I'm pretty sure. Um, and I I you know, this is not uh like a a victory lap from another universe
137:53because I wasn't drafting that much worthy, but um but Brown wasn't like a focal point of the opposing defense in week one. And I think he might be this
138:02week because they could they could pretty easily say like >> you're not beating us with Brown and we can single cover Kelsey and take that
138:09away. So what else you got? And it's Taekquin Thornton deep shots maybe or Juju Smith Schustster. Because ju Ju Guu to like actually matter in a tournament
138:17style format like he'd have to literally have the 16 target the 16 targets that >> totally >> that Hollywood had like cuz he's because
138:26he was always going to play last week anyways because of the Rice injury >> like he was always going to be that
138:31underneath dude because he can't just he can't get downfield really anymore >> right the on the other side the the I I
138:38like the Smith call as well um AJ Brown had a 3% first target rate. Devonte Smith was at 6%. Okay, I like looking at
138:49this stuff because it's like what's the offense trying to do, right? But it's not just it's not the only thing it
138:54tells you. It's sort of like what's the off what was the offense able to do? And >> Jaylen Herds had a 30 had had a first
139:01read throw in just 39% of his drop backs. Everything you were talking about, they they took away his first read. He still had a long time to throw,
139:093.17 seconds time to throw. He's throwing conservative. Uh his average his average throw is four yards short of the sticks, a 4.5 average depth of
139:18throw, 4.9 average depth of completion.
139:21So, you know, a lot of underneath stuff, a lot of checkdowns, and a lot of time where he's then choosing to scramble. He
139:27had, you know, 63 scramble yards, which is awesome. So, >> it was his highest scramble rate in a game uh for He had he had two scrambling
139:35rushing touchdowns the previous two years.
139:38>> Wow.
139:39>> Had two last week.
139:41>> Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean that's if there a different game plan, we could see a completely different version of this
139:47offense. And I think we do get a little bit of a different game plan here. More blitzes, more more one-on-one coverage
139:54for both of the receivers. And yeah, I think I think basically I think the Eagles are going to put up way more
140:00points through the air this week. And so Brown and Smith uh with Goddard hurt like it's going through them. It's just
140:08a good week to play one one of these receivers and and maybe stacked with Herz. Uh it's also, I think, a good week
140:15to to play Barkley. Barkley uh he's he's 8,000 on DraftKings, so it's it's a little tough um given how cheap McAffrey
140:22is, but dude could have a huge week here pretty easily.
140:28>> Yeah, I like I like that. So, Spags is the guy who kind of started what uh you know, Vic Taur, I hope I pronounced his
140:35last names, his last name correctly.
140:37That kind of highlighted, you know, a lot of what these defenses did in week one where they were, you know, shifting
140:41the linemen like postnap because like when the the coverage stuff started to happen, it wasn't that like too high became, you know, this new thing
140:48because, you know, cover two and cover four and cover six like existence in football existed. It's they were showing you one thing pre- snap and doing
140:55something different postnap. And that's how teams kind of played the run game in week one. Spags did this in the Super
141:00Bowl. He was kind of like the first one of like this is how I'm going to take Saquon away is I'm going to give them a
141:05defensive line look and we're going to move the defensive line, you know, as you're snapping the football. And a lot of teams dig that in week one, like just
141:12took that over and uh did the same thing that the 49ers were really big on it too and slowing down the Seahawks. So, I'm
141:19curious if Spags like what he dedicates his resources to like does he just not want to get beat by Saquon and does he
141:24try to bring back what he did in the Super Bowl? They were still good against the run in week one and they obviously
141:28they were good against the run all year last year. Uh so, but like with Saquon at a lowown Saquon, you're always just
141:34looking for that big the big time run out. It's like when Henry is always lowowned.
141:38>> Exactly. Exactly. Um all right, but I think that that covers everything. Uh this has been this has been a lot of
141:47fun. anything um you want to cover before we get out of here?
141:51>> No, it's it's good to talk about stuff that happened, you know, uh you know, it's and I feel like this is a show as
141:56we get into the season based on like how you and I work, we'll we'll get like even better and more accurate like the
142:02more we >> are, you know, feet in the ground here as the course of the season goes, but you know, definitely don't take long.
142:08>> We're still trying to figure out like what we have what it even mean like what does this mean something? Like no, does
142:14this mean something? I think so. you know, and but as we get more, we're gonna be able to >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But uh yeah,
142:19definitely go check out if you if you never read my work, I'm over at Sharp Football Analysis. Please check that out. Uh if you're anyone if you hung on
142:25to this length of the show and want to check out, you guys use promo code sharp 35 over there.
