Baker Mayfield

NegativeMatchup15:00

Baker Mayfield has completed only 43% of his passes against man coverage this season—worse than all but Cam Ward and with lower yards per pass than Carson Wentz; the Patriots play heavy man coverage and are expected to employ it in Week 10, creating a significant matchup concern despite his MVP-talk narrative. However, he showed aggression against the blitz last week with a 12.3 ADOT and positive EPA with a 44% success rate, suggesting he can attack downfield in blitz-heavy matchups. The Patriots' strong run defense (fifth in rushing DVOA, third in EPA, third in success rate) will likely force high dropback volume, which could benefit Mayfield if he can maintain efficiency or at least volume.

Insight page

Brandin Cooks

PositiveUsage14:00

Cooks has been playing as the wide receiver three on the Saints with 65% to 97% route participation this year; despite low visibility, he's running significant volume that could translate to fantasy relevance in deeper PPR leagues.

Insight page

Chris Olave

NegativeProjection10:27

With Shaheed gone, targets will consolidate to Chris Lave, but he was already underperforming his volume before the injury. He's been getting more volume than he could deliver on, so additional targets may not translate to a significant fantasy boost. The source ranks him as a high-end WR2 for season-long play but does not want him in DFS.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveRole38:04

Returning this week with a solid role in the Bears' run-heavy offense against the Giants' worst-in-league run defense. Swift has been genuinely good with a 43% success rate (described as 'weirdly good' for him) and leads all running backs in rate of runs for 10+ yards. Even in a 60/40 or 50/50 carry split with Manungai, Swift's explosive run production and receiving ability (where he will likely get more volume back) position him well. The source prefers Swift over Manungai due to receiving upside and explosive runs, though the matchup may be strong enough for both to produce. In DFS, Swift is priced at $6,100 versus Manungai at $5,600.

Insight page

D'Onta Foreman

PositiveUsage5:11

Panthers' lead back is the clear beneficiary of Carolina's run-heavy offensive design; over his last nine starts, he's gone over 100 rushing yards seven times and is currently third in the NFL in rushing yards despite missing three starts. The Panthers have been prioritizing the run in neutral situations with minus 20-31% pass over expected on first and 10 since the Patriots game, signaling strong efficiency potential when defenses don't know what's coming.

Insight page

Demario Douglas

PositiveUsage24:04

Douglas had 33% route participation last week and did not see an uptick with Mike Evans out. The opportunity vacated by Evans' limited 30% route participation (down from 88% and 75-74% in prior weeks) was gobbled up by Kyle Williams from a routes perspective, leaving Douglas as a very speculative play with limited target upside.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeMatchup31:27

Comparison point for Egookas coverage concerns; ran 16 routes against Patriots cornerback Gonzalez last week and caught only 2 passes, with one being a penalty-inducing catch. All of his touchdowns came away from Gonzalez coverage. Demonstrates how Patriots' Gonzalez assignment can limit production despite overall strong receiving performance.

Insight page

Hunter Henry

PositiveMatchup26:49

Henry shows positive signals against the blitz and was clearly second on the team in targets after Mike Evans left last week. While his participation has been static throughout his career and doesn't always correlate to targets, this week's increased passing volume from the Patriots' game environment could provide meaningful impact opportunity.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveProjection10:27

Most interesting Saints player for DFS with target numbers rebounding to 23%, 17%, and 20% over the last three weeks after a mid-season dip. Runs 82% route participation (30+ routes per game) with a 19% target share and 1.37 yards per route run. With Shaheed gone, targets are expected to increase further. Carolina allows 30th in yards per target to tight ends and sits in base cover three, which typically favors tight end production.

Insight page

Kyle Williams

NegativeRole21:17

Kyle Williams has taken over the deep threat role from Mike Evans with approximately 60% route participation, but he has been unable to draw targets despite the increased opportunity. Week 1 showed 2.40 yards per route and 9% route participation; since then, 0 targets across multiple games. However, facing a more aggressive team that plays man and single-high coverage could create shot-play opportunities. College profile shows he was second in draft class in yards per route against man coverage. Vrabel expressed excitement about his opportunity, noting he's been thrown to a lot and is now comfortable. Mispriced at mid-salary, could be a speculative flyer in game stacks, though he could also be a complete zero with four targets.

Insight page

Rachaad White

NegativeMatchup28:29

White is viewed as more of a season-long play than a Week 10 option. Tucker was siphoning off carries last week and the Patriots present a really tough rushing matchup, making White a very uninspiring play at running back this week.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveMatchup21:10

Diggs faces a perfect matchup in Week 10 with potential role extension; he's been targeted on 28% of his routes against the blitz, maintains 68-72% route participation (could reach 75% this week with expected dropback volume), and wins consistently in both man coverage and against the blitz. While Diggs and Mike Evans play different roles in the Buccaneers offense, Diggs will likely see increased target volume with Evans out, though the volume increase may not be as dramatic as a simple replacement scenario would suggest. His price reflects these positive signals.

Insight page

Terrell Jennings

PositiveRole33:54

Running back showing potential role expansion with a goal-line touch that was not a Henderson pull-down situation. Jennings was active on the drive, got the team across the 50-yard line, and then came in for an 18-yard run to move the ball down the field, staying in the game for that full possession. The source views this as a meaningful signal of increased involvement rather than a one-off play.

Insight page

Tez Johnson

PositiveValue29:16

Deep threat slot receiver at 12.6 ADP; despite a slow 40-yard dash time, he recorded the fastest miles per hour among receivers in go-route drills with quarterbacks. Drawing targets more than expected based on early-season volume; 1.59 yards per hour run rate before Thursday Night Football exceeded Troy Franklin's. Source prefers him at his DFS price point over Egookas due to lower cost and cleaner coverage splits.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout29:19

Johnson stands out as potentially interesting with 96% route participation (versus Shepard's 67% against the Saints). Compared to Troy Franklin in profile—both run slot routes on roughly half their snaps and are incredibly lean—Johnson showed elite speed metrics despite a slow 40-yard dash time; he recorded the fastest tracked speed on go routes for the Seahawks quarterbacks. Drawing targets more than expected based on early-season volume.

Insight page

Troy Franklin

NegativeValue30:06

Slot receiver at 13.3 ADP drawing targets more than expected based on early-season volume. The source considers him in the Buccaneers-Patriots matchup but prefers TZ Johnson at a lower price point, noting Johnson's 1.59 yards-per-hour run rate exceeded Franklin's efficiency before Thursday Night Football.

0:01Welcome to the Legendary Upside podcast and YouTube channel. My name is Pat Grain. You can follow all of my content at legendary upside.com. With me today,
0:08Rich Reebar, Sharp Football Analysis.
0:10Reeves, how's it going? It's going good.
0:13I'm actually excited to talk about this slate because this uh you know, from 10,000 ft view is like the tightest like
0:20from a DFS perspective, like one of the tighter slates. Like throughout the week, we didn't get like four running backs that opened up like pricing and
0:26made everything fluid again. So, I think this is the first like uncomfortable week of fantasy football from a DFS perspective where like not everyone's
0:34just like, "Oh, this is all cushy and we're playing all the good plays."
0:37>> Yeah. No, that's true. So, yeah, for this is our Angles and Upside podcast.
0:41We're going to be talking through the main slate um of games, the 10ame slate on Sunday. Uh and this is not a DFS
0:51exactly, but we'll kind of be talking through what we think is going to happen in the games, which obviously applies to
0:55DFS. We both play DFS, so we'll be we'll be talking through what we like. Um, but yeah, before we get going, any any
1:01promos you got going or anything you want to you want to touch on? Let's uh let's let's plug some stuff at the top
1:06here.
1:06>> Yeah. Yeah. Uh nothing special in terms of promo code unfortunately. Uh we are going to have a free week coming up
1:11though pretty soon where like all the we always just do like a late season free week. But, uh, if I if we don't by
1:16somehow cover anything that you guys want to hear or you want to read about the London game or the the prime time
1:21games, I mean, all that stuff is over at Sharp Football Analysis, uh, where I share my, you know, DFS player pool, all
1:28the good stuff. Uh, but I I love hanging out and talking to you and we're going to walk through these games
1:33>> 100%. And check out the walkthrough over at Legendary Upside. Uh, I also narrate that. It's a long post and if you're
1:39going to hang here with us for a couple hours, I assume you enjoy audio content.
1:43So, if you want to hear the the narrated version of that article, it's on a premium podcast feed for subscribers.
1:47Only 10 bucks a month over there. But let's jump into it. Uh starting with the Saints at Panthers. Um this game kicks
1:56off the walkthrough because Rico Dowel was the cover boy this week. Uh on the Saints side, I was kind of encouraged
2:02that Tyler Shuck wasn't terrible. He was kind of rattlery last week. He was kind of terrible uh against the Bucks, but
2:09that was, you know, he wasn't expected to be starting in that game.
2:13>> Probably doesn't mean too much and gets his first start. Wheels don't completely fall off, which is good for this game
2:19to, you know, have a little bit of life.
2:20But on the other side, Rico Dao, man, 72% of snaps, 76% of carries, 17% target share last week. Hubard was truly a
2:29backup. They actually handed the backfield over to this guy and he was he was awesome again. He's currently running back two with a 50% success rate
2:37but per NFL nextG which is awesome. 19 rush yards over expected per game which is running back three. Um he's set up so
2:44well here. Uh Tedo McMillan dealing with a hamstring injury might miss this game.
2:48I'm not even sure it matters that much because the Panthers were going to just pound the rock here regardless and I
2:55think they'll be successful doing it. Um they're they are super super committed to the run. 58% pass rate, minus 6% pass
3:03rate of expected. And the Saints are a big run funnel with teams running, they have a 54% pass rate against them. Saint
3:10Saints opponents are averaging a 54% pass rate, which is just crazy low. Um, Saints aren't terrible against the run, but they're not a good team and they're
3:20not going to push you off of a runheavy approach. And the Panthers are just very ideologically committed to the run right
3:25now. And they found a guy that can lead the charge. So, Dowel uh will be will be chalk in DFS, but I think he's good
3:31chalk here.
3:32>> Yeah, 100%. Uh agree. It just all lines up. Like you said, like the Saints actually like they play the run all
3:38right, like they're middle of the pack and like in yards per carry out their running backs, but because they've trailed for 89% of their snaps to the
3:44highest rate in the league. Like, so they as a byproduct, they just face a ton of runs and like it doesn't matter
3:49if you're only giving up four yards a run. When you face 26 of them, you end up giving up a lot of runs per game.
3:54They do face the highest backfield attempts per game [snorts] and this is like just what Carolina wants to do, man. I mean, they're they're they're
4:0130th in drop back rate in neutral game scripts and their 30th and drop back rate playing with a lead.
4:06>> And we saw them at the end of last year, too. Like the took like the Chiefs to overtime. They almost beat the Eagles if
4:12Xavier Legette doesn't drop a pass. And like they've been kind of game this year, you know, again, they're not like exciting by any means. Like you're kind
4:19of mad they're good, but like they they keep pushing teams they they shouldn't push. They win most of the games they
4:24should win. Um, and it's just because they keep pounding the ball. What was more impressive about Donald's game last week, too, is the offensive line
4:30injuries just seem to not matter for this team. Like, >> yeah, >> they they've had seven different starting offensive line combinations now
4:37through uh nine games. Their most frequently used offensive line combination this season has only been on the field for 20% of their snaps. It's
4:45the lowest uh most frequently used line.
4:47They've had that thing where they they like one of their guards got curt hurt and then his backup got hurt. So now
4:53they're like on the third string guard like Yeah, there's it's kind of like the line overall isn't in shambles, but they
5:00have like one spot that get keeps getting hurt.
5:03>> Yeah, they just keep running the ball though, man. Even in spots where you think because they're just like they're just a run team. So uh and then doubt
5:11this goes back to last year too. I mean, his last nine starts, he's gone over 100 yards now seven times rushing. Like,
5:19it's not just this three game sample. I mean, he's third in the NFL last year.
5:23>> Yeah. He's he's third in rushing yards right now. And the dude basically pad like three starts.
5:29>> Yeah. And the Panthers, I think, is very clear.
5:32They came into the year and they were like a little bit more willing to like see if they could, you know, have Bryce
5:38Young like, you know, build off of what he did at the end of last year and kind of be what the offense was about. They open
5:44the season with a 68% pass rate against the Jags, which is right in line with expected. The average pass rate this
5:50year is 62%. So 6% above the average.
5:53They kind of were fine with like a pass heavy script. The following week they're at 80% pass rate. in that kind of that
6:00comeback mode where they they were like it was kind of a desperate comeback but like maybe they sort of had a chance
6:05against the Cardinals in that game. Uh it's 2% above expected. Then they they pivot. They have that blowout win over the Falcons. They they only passed 52%
6:14of the time. 59% against the Patriots, 57% against the Dolphins, 46% in the win over the Cowboys, 55% against the Jets,
6:2256% against the Bills, and just 43% in their win over the Packers. this is like working, you know, and on first and 10,
6:32uh, starting with the Patriots, they've been at a minus 20% poe, - 29, - 25, - 8, - 31 against the Bills, and then -6%
6:41last week, which tells you they're really, really prioritizing the run in neutral situations, which is great for the lead running back. When the defense
6:49doesn't know what's coming, they run the ball. So, it should help his efficiency a little bit compared to, you know, you
6:55could make you could make the case it's not a great way to run your offense.
6:58You're not prioritizing the passing game, which is a more efficient way to move the ball than the run game, but who
7:04cares? You know, they're going to they're going to they're going to run the ball a bunch and the guy we want to
7:08play is the running back >> and they're playing the Saints where it's not probably going to cost them to, you know, maybe be somewhat suboptimally
7:17analytically in terms of the offensive design. So, uh, yeah, they're not going to be I mean, and more importantly, like they're just predictable. Like, we know
7:25how they want to play football. This is a spot where they can play football that way. And the Saints, I think, will push
7:31back enough to, you know, the worry would be that they just blow them out and like we see Hubard at the end of
7:37this game. I don't think we get that.
7:39The Panthers aren't like good enough in the same >> Even if they do blow them out. Even if they do blow them out, it's going to be
7:44because of Dowel.
7:45>> Yeah, it'll be because of Dowel.
7:46Yeah, that's true. I mean, you know, it's not going to be for Bryce Young passing touch like the odds that it's for like
7:53>> they're not going to start tush pushing Bryce Young. I don't think >> Yeah.
7:56>> They should try like a tush surf where they just where they like crowd surf him over. [laughter] >> I did appreciate everyone sending us uh
8:04the images of the the Kyle the Kyler Bryce Young. [laughter] >> I think it could work if they just like like in a concert, you know, they just
8:14>> Yeah. Yeah. like a crowd surfing. Just push him over.
8:17>> Crowd serve. [laughter] >> Just chuck him.
8:23Um yeah, on the on the Saints side, anything jump out to you?
8:27>> No, I mean it's just going to be interesting to see the fallout of Rasheed Shahed. Uh obviously the Saints can't run the ball. It's a bummer to see
8:33what's happened to Alvin Kamara uh like over the course of this season. I earlier the week like when I was doing
8:39like uh my my prop bet show and I'm like going through the list and just seeing if anything stands out. I saw his his
8:44rushing propped open the week was 32 and a half and I was like oh gez this is like where we are and I was like I don't
8:49even think he's going to hit this. Like what are we [laughter] doing? Uh this is like how the mighty have fallen, right?
8:54I mean you look at last week 17 yards and uh just seven touches. He's he hasn't been a top 30 scorer since week
9:01six or an RB2 or better. He's been RB2 better in just one of his past seven games there. Tyson Hill was the leading
9:08rusher last week for and he had 30 yards. It wasn't like he was good either. Like it was just it's just bad.
9:12He's not catching the ball out of the back field. It's it's just it's just pretty gross, man. It's pretty >> They're kind of using Deon Neil in in uh
9:20like a third down back >> um pass protection stuff a little bit.
9:24So, >> and like basically they like Kamaro like asked them not to trade him cuz he like likes where he lives and like didn't
9:29even care about going to a contender.
9:31He's just like content to just kind of like be hanging out.
9:34>> He said, "I'm not leaving New Orleans."
9:36That's what he said. You can trade.
9:37>> It's a great city. It's a good city.
9:38>> I'm done with football then. No, I get it. I'm kind of respect it. He's like, "This is where I live and if you want me
9:44to play football, it's going to be here."
9:46>> Yeah. You don't need to give me touches.
9:47I'll just keep hanging out like >> Yeah. Uh it's it's you know what it is?
9:54It's kind of like it's a similar role to to Bree Hall in a way where he's he catches passes but not necessarily like
10:00there's also an Isaiah Davis or where Deon Neils was at 42% route participation last week. So like he's stealing meaningful receiving work even
10:09if he's not getting a ton of targets. Um but then it's like Bree Hall with just no burst, you know. Um because Chimera's
10:17he's he's got a 28% success rate, running back 46.
10:21uh running back 45 and rush yards over expected per game. He's got 0.68 yards per outr run. This used to be like a
10:27like a two yards per out run guy. Like it's it's really over. So the Chris Lave and Jawan Johnson I think you know
10:35targets will consolidate here uh with Shahed gone. Lave though was like already really underperforming his volume. So, it's like hard to like more
10:45volume's good, but >> it's not like, man, he's going to crush now. You know, he's already been getting more volume than he could kind of
10:52deliver on. And >> so, I have him as like a high-end wide receiver, too, in the ranks. And, you know, he's a pretty strong seasonl long
10:58play, but I don't think I'll be I want him in DFS.
11:02And then Jawan Johnson is probably the guy actually most interested in for for DFS on the Saints side. Um, >> you know, he's he's look like he started
11:12really strong. we got excited. Then he had target per outr run numbers of 11, 15, and 8% uh in the middle part of the
11:20season so far. And that's obviously concerning. Yard per outr run uh in that stretch of 1, 0.65, 0.63. The target numbers are back up, not to like quite
11:30where they were to start the year, but 23 17 and 20% over the last three weeks is solid. And now we'd expect maybe that
11:37to even increase. Um his rout participation's been good all year. Uh, the yards per hour runs never been great, but it's not bad. It's one It's
11:46not terrible. I guess it's kind of bad.
11:471.37, but the 19% target share, 19 run.
11:52>> Yeah, he's running ton of routes. Uh, 82% route participation. So, I think he's he's at least mildly interesting here.
12:00>> Yeah. I mean, he's running over 30 routes per game at the tight end position and he's getting targets, right? Like those like that combination
12:05usually at least at that position gives you something to work with. And then, you know, if you have any type of upside
12:12or run hot, then it turns into something exciting, which hasn't been often, but he's in a good spot where they're probably gonna have to throw a lot
12:19again. Uh, Carolina's been pretty weak against tight ends overall. They play that, you know, they sit in like that base cover three all the time. So, like,
12:27uh, tight ends tend to get a lot of a lot of looks against them anyways, but they also are allowing chunk plays to to
12:32tight ends. You know, 30th in yards per target. They're right around middle pack and touchdown rate. But uh this is his
12:38old the old shower native narrative is back in play though. You know Tyler Shuck is a for former college roommate, you know, back in 2019.
12:45>> So we we is is it roommate or or teammate? Because I think there was the debate on this on the um on the DFS show
12:52that I that I just did this morning where uh Neil Orfield had said they were college roommates and then Davis fact
12:58checked that they were just teammates.
13:01>> I I don't know. I thought it I I thought they were roommates at one point, but that's just I never have like dug in to
13:062019 or Oregon like board and rooming to like see like [laughter] like how like I I just remember the story when he got
13:14drafted. There's like a story like Dwan like reached out to him and like so like it was like yo like so maybe I don't
13:21know >> it it means two different things. If they're teammates it just means Shuck's really old. If they're broommates, it could be good for, you know, them to
13:29have >> the Earl Bennett, the Earl Bennett.
13:32Yeah. [snorts] >> Yeah. Which we're seeing with Bo Nixon, Troy Franklin kind, but [laughter] >> we are um all right. And not too much. I
13:42mean, even if McMillan's out, I don't really have much interest in the the Panthers passing game. Would would you agree?
13:48>> No, because of the volume stuff. You a little maybe a slight bump for like Coker and Legette, but I mean, the
13:54matchup is fine if you want to chase. I just don't think there's going to be a lot of pass volume. Uh in wake of the
13:59Shahed trade, if you're in like 14 team leagues or something deeper, they've talked that Vle is going to get the the
14:06the >> role some too.
14:08>> Yeah. Well, Cooks has already been like playing as the wide receiver three, but the coaching staff like deliberately talked about Vele this week. I mean,
14:14you're not going to like play him in DFS or anything, but like if you're in like those deeper PPR leagues that it's like
14:20a spec ad just because like they're throwing so many passes, like you might have a guy getting, you know, 25 30
14:26routes and maybe that turns into something for you, but it's just a spec ad at this point.
14:30>> I agree. Yeah, there's always these guys who are like Brandon Cooks has been like at 65% plus repetitive as high as 97%
14:37this year. Like what?
14:39>> Yeah, it's pretty it's pretty crazy.
14:41Some people probably don't even know he's on the Saints like [laughter] >> Yeah.
14:45Yeah, >> it's like still out there running around.
14:49>> We'll get to one of these these surprising rap participation uh stats later as well. Let's talk Pat's Bucks.
14:55This is this is like, you know, the game. This is an interesting one.
14:59>> The 1 PM slate, you know, I think Romo's doing this one. Um >> and I I think this game's really fun.
15:05What What jumps out to you about this one? Yeah, I think it it's volatile but has potential to be fun because, you
15:12know, you kind of have the two mere passfunnel defenses. Like, this is a game that could absolutely feature, you know, 80 plus combined passes and a
15:18range of outcomes.
15:20>> Uh, a little I'm definitely way more concerned about the Bucks side than the Pats side, though, for sure. The volatility here. But if we do get it, I
15:27mean, the Bucks have played three home games. They've all gone over. They've all been over like 50 total points.
15:31There's reasons to be like optimistic.
15:33I'm a little scared because like the way the Bucks went into the buy and then Baker Mayfield as a whole this season
15:40like he's kind of gotten by like with some late game stuff and got him in the MVP talk like his overall metrics have
15:46been kind of weak all year and especially against man coverage. He's only completed 43% of his passes against man coverage. Only Cam Ward is worse and
15:55only Carson Wentz has a lower yards per pass against man coverage. Obviously the Patriots play a lot of man coverage. I
16:00think they're going to do that here too because I don't think they're scared about the Bucks.
16:04>> And Gonzalez is healthy. He was checked for a concussion last week, but >> yeah. And so like and you you would
16:09expect that too because of the state the wide receivers have been in all year, right? Like so like it all kind of
16:14tracks why it adds up. It might not even be a full like Baker struggling versus man coverage thing. It could be the
16:18receivers. It's like a combination of things, but they're going to see a lot of that here as well. It also could
16:23might maybe not matter. One thing I always do try to preach too whenever we're talking about coverage stuff or the stuff gets thrown around is like
16:30take in context like who these teams have played and the team they're facing against. Like even though the Patriots are a base man coverage team, like they
16:38don't really play a lot of good pass defense either. Uh so like you know they're 24th in yards for passing allowed. They're 20th in passing uh
16:45points allowed per pass attempt. So it's like it might not mean anything here either too. It could be kind of noisy.
16:50So definitely >> I think they're better than the seasonl long numbers though cuz they they didn't have Gonzalez for a while and they were
16:55like like people were really picking on them and now I think they're pretty solid in the secondary. They're not great in the secondary
17:01>> but their schedule's been so easy too.
17:02It's hard to like but they have like the game against Josh Allen on their resume.
17:06>> Uh so there's like a lot of stuff just going on at the Patriots in general. I do know their run defense is real and I
17:11know Rashad White is not running on them. They're the first team since 1950 to not allow a player to rush over 50
17:18yards against them to this point of an NFL season.
17:21>> Bjan Robinson had 46 yards on 12 carries with minus 20 rush yards over expected, a 25% success rate. They stacked the box
17:28against him zero times.
17:31>> Yeah, it's and like Rashad White has been pretty cheeks since he's taken over for Bucky. Like to be fair, this is like
17:38what Rashad White's been over his career. before the buy he was like banged up and we saw more Shawn Tucker but they're just not gonna be able to
17:44run here. So it's gonna be a high Baker drop back game regardless. This could be a sneaky spot too where like Pat's D is
17:50in play like you know for season long stuff just because you're gonna get so many drop backs butaker Baker hasn't really been turning the ball over though
17:57but uh they might get Luke God back but that's the volatile side. I'll let you talk.
18:02>> That would be nice.
18:04>> Yeah, I'll let you talk into some more stuff. There's a lot I think to cover in this game. So that Luke got their their
18:10right tackle and and Charlie Hec's been filling in and he he kind of stinks. So that would be and the rest of their line
18:16is now healthy. Um which you know it's not been healthy. I think like one of their intended starters got her right at
18:24the beginning of the year. So that's maybe they're not that's not fully true, but they're basically um they're basically good if they get got to keep
18:30back. So that would be nice to see. Um, and yeah, I think from the Patriots side, basically my view of this game is
18:38similar to yours where it's like it's not like super high confidence because you have um the Bucks have been struggling recently with Baker Mayfield,
18:48you know, not playing well against the Lions and then not playing well against the Saints, which was definitely pretty concerning. 31 uh 31st percentile EPA
18:58per play in that game after being awesome for a few weeks. 98th percentile against the Seahawks, 94th percentile against the 49ers. So, he drops off, but
19:06they have the buy. Um, you're hoping that he, you know, kind of gets it together. And then on the the Patriots
19:11side with May, it's not super high confidence either because this Bucks defense is is pretty good. Blitzes a lot. He just faced a blitzing defense in
19:21the Falcons and turned in his uh his worst EPA per play of the year. It was still like not that bad cuz he's playing
19:29awesome. 42nd percentile. It's not like he cratered, but it was kind of diminished the uh the excitement in the Patriots offense a bit. And I think we
19:38could see that happen again. The the silver lining or the kind of the reasons to for you know to stay kind of
19:45optimistic here is that he was aggressive against the Blitz last week with a a 12.3 A DOT. Uh he wasn't able
19:53to to connect much downfield, but he was trying and he was solid against the Blitz. He had positive EPA. He had a 44%
20:00success rate, which isn't it's not it's not like bad like kind of that's like kind of where Mayfield is this year
20:06roughly. So he was like limited by the blitz but he was trying to do cool stuff by attacking downfield. And you know, in
20:16a in another kind of blitz heavy matchup, you could see him kind of go off, especially on volume, right? Where you look at the Bucks run defense, it's
20:26also really good. Fifth in rushing DVOA, third in EPA, third in success rate. So, you got kind of these brick wall rush
20:32defenses on both sides. You have a pretty high point total. You have offenses that can push each other. So, it's just like you're just betting on a
20:40bunch of dropback volume. efficiency is maybe down, you know, like like 65th percentile EPA play for May, I'd be like, I'm listening. I'm listening. How
20:48much volume did I get? You know, I don't need him to be literally 100th percentile like he was against the Panthers or, you know, just just
20:55absolutely crushing like we've seen him do numerous times. But I like that he has that on his resume. It's just that I
21:00don't think you necessarily need him to be at his very most efficient. Buckside is similar where we can get by on volume
21:06a little bit and then the volume should be really condensed to a Mecha Ibuka.
21:10the the Patriot side part that's frustrating is I don't think the volume's that condensed. Stefon Diggs probably gets a little more bit more
21:17with booty out, but they play different roles in the offense. Um yeah, Kyle Williams has taken over that booty role it looks like a little bit, but it'll be
21:24split. He probably is like 60s something percent route participation and can't seem to draw targets. So >> I don't think he's in very interesting.
21:32Maybe he helps funnel targets to the guys we care about. Um >> he might be interesting.
21:36>> Okay, tell me about that. Well, uh, so like last week you talked about the May stuff which, uh, and you know, he wasn't
21:42connecting, but like that's Falcons design, right? Like the the Falcons blitz a lot slot, but they play like a ton of zone coverage behind it. Like
21:48they're predicated on not giving up splash plays. So, I think Booty probably even probably would had the same results if he played, you know, granted he might
21:55not have because that's, you know, he had been pulling stuff out of his hat for a while, but >> and it's like one one like just amazing
22:00throw where it's like here's the ball, you know, >> but I don't think it's shocking that like Kyle Williams came in and didn't
22:05really do much in that role because I don't think that role was going to be set up for success in that matchup.
22:10Vrabel talked about him during the week too and and talked about like how excited he was for him to have this
22:15opportunity because he said that he was a guy that they threw a lot at uh to this point of the season and that now
22:22he's comfortable and they're ready to see what he's got. I think now with uh facing a more aggressive team that you
22:27know plays a little bit more man and single high stuff like we might be able to see some of those shot plays and then
22:31also in his profile coming out of college like he was second in this draft class in yards per run against man
22:37coverage and like granted this dude could be a complete zero. I'm definitely not saying that's like he could be a stone cold nothing and have four targets
22:45in this game. But I mean I think he does offer a little bit more intrigue than based on just saying like well he came
22:49in didn't get any targets last week. I think he was in a spot where that was probably more defensive design too that
22:55like he was kind of that role in the offense was kind of shut out.
22:58>> So maybe I mean he's mpriced. He you you maybe need a dude because there's that the teams on by this week are uh Cowboys
23:07uh Chiefs and Bengals and just a ton of pass catchers like we're you got to reach in the bag somewhere. You do. Uh
23:12so like you know maybe he's a guy like you just take a flyer on.
23:16>> Not a ton of salary uh saving guys either. Not like punt running backs and stuff. So, if you are stacking this
23:22game, um, and you want to go mid price, Kyle Williams, I I don't hate it. I mean, just so you know, for for the
23:28listeners here, uh, yards per out run, he had 2.40 and 9% route participation
23:34in week one. Since then, 0 1 0 0 0.
23:40So, uh, not many flashes here, but, um, >> the role, you know, is important. He has probably taken over that deep threat
23:49role. M. Holland stayed in his regular old dirty work role. He had a 50% routicipation against the Falcons, which is kind of where he
23:58normally is.
23:59>> This guy's going to play forever.
24:00>> Well, he's he's going to convert to tight end. He's he's on the Mercedes Lewis >> uh timeline. We're going to Yeah, we're
24:06going to be talking about this guy in 2035. Um >> Deario Douglas had 33% round participation last week, so he didn't
24:14see an uptick with Booty out. Uh, and by the way, Booty was limited to 30% round participations and and he was at 88% the
24:22week before, 75 74. So, he's he's like a full-time player roughly. Um, and that opportunity was really gobbled up by Kyle Williams, at least from routes
24:33perspective. So, very, very speculative.
24:35Um, and >> I wouldn't expect targets. I definitely wouldn't expect like eight targets or anything. It was just kind of like
24:41Booty. you're like hoping he cashes in on an opportunity at like min price or you because you just took a waiver flyer
24:47because there was nothing for you to pick up. Uh because he's a guy that probably is on your waivers if you are
24:52just like man I don't know who I'm playing for T. Higgins this week or CD Lamb or Jamar Chase or you had T
24:58McMillan and you were counting maybe you scrambling right? Um we're all in those spots.
25:03>> I think this is like a spot where you could like you get 12 >> drop back >> 12 points from a 3K receiver. You're
25:10kind of doing cartwheels on the slate, right? So, >> well, if you score a touchdown, you would Oh my god.
25:14>> Yeah. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
25:17>> But, uh, I do think the other guys are are It could get more not at least the targets concentrated like Diggs is like
25:24this is a perfect matchup if they did want to like extend his role even a little bit. Totally. It would be
25:29significant because >> he's been targeted on 28% of his routes against the Blitz. Uh, 2.6. Well, first of all, he's just been good anyways.
25:37Like the only thing that's roadblocking him is that he's been hanging around like that >> like 68 to 72 like route participation
25:45stuff like just not you know if if they just want to give him one game where a lot of dropbacks and he's like he could
25:51even be around 75% this week with the amount of dropbacks we're expecting and like the matchup's good enough for where he's winning in man coverage and against
25:58the blitz like that's at his price because you've talked about it too like not only do we have night pump plays
26:04like this might be a week too like we just have to take on more and mid-rangy wide receivers and like I'm like well
26:10diggs kind of like has some stuff that looks optically like pretty positive like you know if we could do that >> and the blitz tends to like it's not
26:18always the case but it tends to concentrate targets so like you know like who's getting targets and is good and you know can get open it's like
26:26>> who do you trust? Yeah. Like who it's also like first read stuff like >> first read stuff. Yeah. Get the ball
26:32out. Yeah. And it's like they they got some stuff designed where it's like, you know, we're going to make sure that
26:36you're getting open quickly so that you know we're not going to have as much time to throw. Who's you got hot read
26:42stuff? That's normally someone you trust. So, um, yeah, Diggs has been >> good against the Blitz, good against man. So, I like
26:49>> Henry also has a pretty positive signal against the Blitz. And when Booty left last week, he was clearly second on team
26:56and targets. He's the one guy too you can confidently count on like his like participation being static. Like it doesn't always lead to targets. Like
27:05he's just been Hunter Henry. Like Hunter Henry has been his whole career. Like you know you basically ask yourself, did Hunter Henry score a touchdown this
27:11week?
27:12>> No. All right. Well, he probably was pretty pretty lame. And then did he score a touch this week? Well, he was
27:16pretty usable. But this might be a week where he has like a little bit of an impact where the again the participation
27:23stuff isn't necessarily limiting because we're getting more passing volume um overall because of the game environment and potentially the defense. So it could
27:30help him out too. So, >> and this is one of those things where people criticize the Patriots for I mean rightfully they have had a very easy
27:38schedule and you know it it's not it's easier to put up points and be efficient when you're going against the Saints and
27:45the Titans and the Panthers and the Dolphins, but these teams aren't really pushing back. And this is a game where I
27:53think again there's not a ton of high confidence game environments, but there's definitely potential for the Bucks to push back in a big way here and
28:01to do it through the passing game. So the clock is stopping. You know, we're getting a ton of plays in this game from
28:08both sides. And the Patriots are like having to kind of really put their f their their foot on the pedal, pedal to
28:16the floor. and you know, we get passing volume from them in a way that they like they kind of don't have to do a lot of
28:22the times when when they're when they're playing really efficiently. So, that's that's just a fun element of this game.
28:29>> On the Bucks side, uh we talked about White. I I agree. I mean, I think White's White to me, it's more of a
28:34seasonlong thing of like, >> well, there's some dudes on by and he's going to catch passes, so I'll throw them out there. But but Tucker was
28:42siphoning off carries last week and this is a really tough rushing matchup. So I I think he's a very uninspiring play at
28:51running back.
28:53>> But you do have Ibuka, you've got Kate Atten, um I think is probably playable.
28:59>> Uh Tez Johnson kind of jumps out is is potentially interesting. He was at 96% route participation with Shepard at 67%
29:06against the Saints.
29:08>> Johnson's been kind of decent. You know what I compared them to uh in the walkthrough? I I compared them to Troy
29:14Franklin.
29:16>> Uh >> yeah, I see that.
29:17>> They're both running out of the slot about half of their snaps. They're both incredibly skinny. Like guys, you play football for a living. Like maybe eat.
29:27>> That's how they're so fast.
29:28>> Well, actually TZ Johnson wasn't even fast measury, but he was fast on the It's funny. Well, he ran a slow 40, but
29:34remember he was the he ran the fastest time in the uh other >> the No, the you know how they do the the
29:40MPH like tracking on when the receivers running with the quarterbacks.
29:44>> He was the I didn't know this.
29:45>> Yeah, he was the fastest dude when they ran the go routes for the quarterbacks.
29:48He had the fastest miles per hour of the receivers.
29:51>> Interesting.
29:51>> So, it was like a big It was a big thing like what should we care about? It was like a thing like
29:55>> did he not train for the 40? Like >> cuz his 40 time was [ __ ] Like it was terrible especially for a dude of his
30:00weight. Like it was ter like like deplorable. claims he weighs 142 pounds.
30:04>> Yeah. [laughter] Yeah.
30:07>> Yeah. Uh when I had his his prospect thing, his profile like when I went back to Yeah. I forgot like he he ran the
30:13fastest time of the receivers in the go route drill. So it's just like what are we do?
30:17>> Yeah.
30:18>> But he's um he's kind of like he's a deep threat slot. 12.6 ADA. Franklin's 13.3. Um they're both drawing targets
30:26more than you'd think based on their first three targets, which aren't great, but aren't terrible. Um, they both get used in the screen game and Tez
30:35actually, this is before last night, uh, but he's at 1.59 yards per hour run, which was higher than than Franklin um,
30:42before Thursday Night Football. So, I don't know. I mean, like I kind of talked myself into him this way. I was
30:48like, hey, if I have, you know, uh, Bucks Troy Franklin in this matchup, that could be pretty fun. Um, so I think I might play some TZ. Yeah, I
30:58think he's I'm more interested in him at his price point from a DFS perspective than I am Egookas, even though I bua
31:05gonna be really popular. Uh just because he's more expensive. And then I I worry about some of the split stuff with him.
31:12Uh because he's not Drake London, you know, getting open. He's he's been so bad against man coverage this year compared to zone. And it's like do the
31:23like do the Patriots use Gonzalez on him a little more because he doesn't move around as much as uh like a Drake London
31:29does to get away. I mean Drake London all of his touchdowns came away from Gonzalez last week. He ran 16 >> and were incredible place.
31:36>> Like dude like I I wrote it up. I was like this is I even put the clips I very rarely ever put like uh like clips in my
31:43stuff but I was like this is the best catalog of catches a receiver has had in a game this season like easily. Uh, but
31:49he ran 16 routes against Gonzalez and only caught two passes. The the one big one where he let him know and got the
31:54penalty, the taunting penalty, but the rest of was on everyone else. The Bucks don't really have like other guys I think that the Patriots are going to be
32:02like that concerned about. Um, so I do I do have like a little bit of plus. Now, Ibuka is going to get 27% of the targets
32:10plus. So like you're not scared like from a floor perspective, he's going to draw targets. I wouldn't run away from him in any seasonl long leagues. I'm
32:17just thinking about like how the field's playing from a DFS perspective and I'm like is this a guy I want to be lighter
32:21on? That's that's it. Like I'm gonna definitely have stacks this game as well because the only way this game I think
32:26pops also for DFS is if the Bucks drive it.
32:31>> The Bucks need to do something. Yeah.
32:32>> Yes. The Bucks have to drive it. So like and if you're like Rashad White and the running backs are going to do it, it has
32:37to be a Bua.
32:39>> I don't know if the Bucks have to drive it. Like the Patriots The Patriots will attack through the air for it to pop.
32:44Yeah.
32:44>> Yeah. for it to like for it to like be like Yeah. for it's like this is a single entry onslaught type thing.
32:50>> Yeah.
32:50>> The Bucks are going to be the ones getting it to that like crazy game state.
32:54>> Uh because the Patriots if they're just playing with the lead like they'll be fine. Like they'll still throw more. Um
33:00but like Right. Right.
33:01>> You know, we need them to push it. So, and we didn't even talk about, you know, Henderson at all.
33:07>> Well, why is that, Rich?
33:09>> Yeah. [laughter] Well, >> I think you got to be a little It was funny because both sides kind of won
33:14last week, right, with the Henderson Warriors.
33:16>> Both sides won. I had him in lineups.
33:18You know, he was fine. Roma Dunce, I wish you uh literally did anything to do something. Listen, I had him I had a
33:25Manung guy. We talked a lot of [ __ ] on guy, >> but I I had him in a Caleb Williams
33:29lineup. Um and uh it was Rome. It was Rome that killed me.
33:34>> Yeah, man. Guy just like say we It's Bengals, you know. They're not on a slate this week either. Bengals and
33:39Cowboys being off the slate and period is is you know we're like there's no upside [laughter] >> can't just play dudes against the the
33:48the Bengals and Cowboys. But I do think that and I don't know like what Gretch wrote this up as uh like the signal
33:54versus but like the Terrell Jennings goal line touch was pretty noisy in itself. It wasn't like Henderson got pulled at the goal line for Jennings. He
34:01was in on the drive had a play got him across the 50. Jennings came in had like a 18 yard run ran him down there and
34:07just stayed in the game for that possession but still 75% snaps for Henderson and he ran 28 targets to four for Jennings and that's
34:18what we care about in this matchup because we don't expect the Patriots to line up a run the football on the Bucks
34:23but the Patriots faced the Browns two weeks ago and they did have some nice outside runs with Henderson. So maybe we
34:30get a little bit of that and him involved in the pass catching game. The Bucks are 30th in receiving points allowed to running backs. Uh so again,
34:38like there's not a lot of mid-rangy guys this week to kind of be excited about.
34:42And I don't know necessarily I would even use excitement about him. It's just like, well, he's going to get some catches and some volume.
34:49>> Yeah. 75% of the snaps last week, 70% round participation, 19% target share for Tvon Henderson. Um but he only had
34:5642% of the carries. So it wasn't just the touchdown. Jennings was siphoning off meaningful work. And I think that would definitely be pretty concerning
35:04es, you know, if we thought that the path here was them running the ball.
35:09It's more like a PPR play.
35:11>> Yeah.
35:11>> And so I do like Henderson in season long, you know, more than like a Rashad White where it's kind of the same exact
35:20type of play. You're just like betting on the PPR. But I think Henderson is is more interesting. Um, actually I'm like, do I do I have I'm
35:30like literally going to lower Rashad White to make sure I now have Henderson ahead. [laughter] Um, but yeah, I mean, I think yeah,
35:39think it through it more. I definitely I definitely prefer Henderson to White.
35:42Um, but I don't love Henderson and DFS.
35:45We'll talk about ETN later, but like he's another guy in a similar price range. And when I think through like the
35:50the profiles, I I think I prefer ETN.
35:53Um, but yeah, we'll we'll discuss that soon. Um, >> yeah, that's that's pretty much it, though. Could I mean, like I said, this
35:59game is going to this game's going to I think just be kind of pretty clear like what we're going to get pretty early on.
36:06>> Yeah. Yeah. Uh, well, I I could see this being like, you know, because that Bill started really boring.
36:15>> Um, I I was watching that game in like the bar up the street and we were just like, this game sucks and then came home
36:21and then the game got good. So, I I think this could be >> You never know sometimes when these teams like it's like they're they're
36:28kind of not really they're just kind of doing a little and then they just start whailing, you know?
36:34>> Yeah. And the Bucks have had a lot of games where it takes them a while to >> Yeah, I could see some fourth quarter
36:39fireworks in this one for sure. Um all right, let's go to the next game. Uh I had in the walkthrough here was Giants
36:47at Bears. Uh the Bears, man, they they want to run the ball and this is the spot to run the ball.
36:58>> Dead last in DVOA, the Giants. Dead last in EPA, dead last in success rate. This is the worst run defense in the league.
37:04I'm not sure it's close. Uh they actually have a good pass rush as well.
37:09So like there's there's incentive to run the ball and um you know to avoid the pass rush and then it's also like a
37:15rushing matchup you really really want to attack. The 49ers had a 44% success rate or sorry, not success rate, pass rate. Uh, they were much more
37:23successful. 44% success, what's wrong with my brain? 44% pass rate. Uh, and a minus 9% proe last week by the 49ers
37:33against this Giants defense. We predicted they were going to pound the rock. They pounded the rock. You know, this is like this is this is the beauty
37:40of a runfunnel. It's like we we can we can predict a game plan, then we see it happen. And I think we're going to see a
37:47pass rate kind of in this range for for the I mean we saw 43% against the Saints from the Bears. Uh they've you know they
37:56they've been committed to the run here and now they found a guy and Kyle Manungai that can be their downhill runner. I think Swift who will be back
38:04this week >> will have you know a solid role but it was kind of split up before Swift >> 48% of carries against the Saints and
38:12then 48% of carries against the Ravens.
38:14So, you know, is Manungai will have work here. Uh, I think it'll probably feel a little bit like um Hubard and Dowel
38:24after Dao blew up and we went back to the Hubard experience where you're like, "What? What if you just played the guy
38:29who broke out?" Um, >> well, the the difference is Swift's been really good.
38:34>> Swift has been good. He's he's got a 43% success rate, which is like weirdly good for him. He's not been amazing. He's
38:39he's been better than Hubard by a lot.
38:41Um, but >> he leads the but he's also facing the he leads all running backs and rate of runs for 10 or more yards and he's facing the
38:48defense that allows the most to run. So even if we do have like a a 6040 split or even if it's closer to 50/50, there's
38:55a chance for the way he's produced on runs like he could still be good and he's probably going to have all the the
39:00more of the receiving stuff back too. Uh but it's going to be both >> two yards per run for him. He's been
39:05good in the receiving game.
39:06>> Yeah. I mean, that's the difference between like I wrote it up too like don't I don't think this is a Hubard
39:10situation because Swift's actually been good uh whereas like Hubard was like pretty bad uh and then was bad coming back. But then this match up just lines
39:20up. I will say going forward after this though, like if you have Manangi and you're excited, >> you should start to be real worried
39:25after this.
39:27>> Like it gets well because >> the schedule >> it gets but maybe not so much the Vikings next week, but they're like up
39:33and down when we get to them. Then they go Steelers, Eagles, Packers, Browns, Packers. Like it's and like because this is a team like the way the Bears want to
39:41operate coming out of the buy, uh their signal has been shown. But like if they're not able to play that way, that
39:47he's obviously the most fragile piece like of that like that role if he's like David Montgomery adjacent or something like that. Like if they're not able to
39:55play the style of football they want to.
39:57>> I comp them in the walkthrough to um to Kenneth Walker and Zack Charbanet.
40:02>> Yeah, cases. prefer the Bears guys where you're getting like we actually saw some rushing pop from uh from a nung guy last
40:09week and and Swift's been like a legit good receiver and actually has a good success rate but you get that burst that
40:15that Walker has. So it's kind of like the the good version of the Seahawks backfield basically in a great rushing matchup.
40:22>> And this week you're not worried about it because they're going to be able to run the football and the weather is
40:25supposed to be crappy so like it's just going to be all right. Like they're just going to line up and run the football a
40:30lot this game. Um, so it's gonna be a lot of this backfield. I think there's enough for both guys to be good. I do
40:37think there's probably a little more still upside here for Swift because of the receiving and the explosive runs, but it might not even matter in this
40:43matchup. It could still be a spot where the matchup just carries everybody.
40:48Yeah, I think from a DFS perspective it's tough because Swift is 6100 and Manungai who was, you know, very popular
40:57and did well um is now I think he's 56.
41:02So yeah, he's 56. So he's it's the pricing kind of keeps you off. I mean obviously if if Swift was out and
41:07Manungai was 56, we'd be >> Oh dude, it'd be amazing.
41:11>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If Manunga was out, we would jam Swift for sure, too. uh that this is yeah, I mean it's it's a matchup
41:18where the passing game um for the Bears isn't super interesting because it's just so clear. It's I mean this is like
41:26Panthers level to me, you know?
41:28>> Yeah. Look at the look at Caleb's like completions and wins.
41:33>> Like he's got 20, 19, 15, 17, and 22 completions in their wins.
41:40>> [clears throat] >> The other thing is that like his deal is that he's he runs around, he takes forever to throw and then, you know, he
41:47he generates some big plays, >> but the Giants pass rush is kind of the best thing they got going on defense. I
41:54don't think this doesn't set up to me as like an ideal Caleb spot. Um >> and his his big spikes have been very
42:02predictable is it's the Cowboys and the Bengals. [laughter] >> That's actually hilarious.
42:08>> Yeah. Oh, yeah. Like, yeah, we talked about it last week.
42:11>> Cowboys and Bengals.
42:12>> We talked about it last week. When we talked about him, I was like, "This is the most Cowboys adjacent game he's had
42:16like matchup wise." Uh, just it's like literally the same thing. But, >> but he didn't do it against the Raiders, right? He didn't do it. Like, nope.
42:24>> He's not against the Commanders. A pretty vulnerable defense. like he hasn't >> a good matchup isn't at least so far
42:32hasn't he needs a great match up to >> and to be fair maybe Dark can push them if the weather's not a thing like cuz
42:37he's they there's been a couple spots where you're like oh the Giants aren't that fun here but then they play in some
42:43>> relative relatively highscoring games like overall it's weird because outside of the the Denver well it's honestly none of them though it was even the
42:51Denver game because it was a late Denver flurry is how the score got there but all the Giants games have high point
42:57totals like last week 58 week before 58 the Eagles week before 65 the week before that 61 but like none of them are
43:04back and forth >> right >> like like just the combined points end up getting there uh either Dart's doing something early or doing something late
43:13we're done you guys >> it's not like it's not like last week though like trading blows >> so I do think Caleb like I opened the
43:22week kind of like bullish on Caleb in this game in general and then as Swift got up and then the weather I like this
43:27is probably a very like clear like Bears just run this ball spot.
43:32>> I do like your call though that dart is kind of the key to this game being more fun. And Dart's been good. It's been
43:38defense is not good. Yeah, >> I'm I'm I'm starting to become a they should keep Dayball guy.
43:45>> Oh, interesting.
43:47>> Like all that matters is that Dart is good and Dart has been good in Dayball's offense, so just keep dayball.
43:56Yeah, I could see it.
43:57>> That's it. That's all my whole argument.
43:59>> And I I like Dart regardless even as uh even if the weather is bad because he's going to run around. Uh the Bears are
44:05also 24th in rushing points allowed per game to uh quarterbacks. Uh you know, Puntley and Jaden Daniels went over 50 yards. Gino Smith had 30 yards against
44:15them. JJ McCarthy had 25 and a touchdown. So Dart's going to run around regardless in this matchup. And if by any means like the weather doesn't
44:24impact any of the passing stuff, it actually is a really good passing match up for him. Arguably his best that he's
44:29had uh to this point of him starting.
44:33>> Yeah. So So they have um Jaylen Johnson and an outside corner and Kyler Gordon Nickel Corner both on IR. Um they've got
44:43uh the reserves there. Nan Wright, Nick Mloud have both been liabilities. They still have their starting uh corner Tyreek Stevenson healthy except he ranks
44:54120th among 122 quarterbacks with 100 plus defensive snaps and yards allowed per coverage snap. The other guys um are 95th and 102nd. So this is like a weak
45:04link system made up of three weak links uh at quarterback. So it's a pretty like the Bears uh 27th in passing DVOA, 22nd
45:13in EPA, 29th in success rate. So, this is a pretty bad pass defense to begin with, but the numbers probably overstate
45:19their strength. One minor concern, uh, center John Michael Smith hasn't practiced this week on uh, and the Giants could be out for this game. So, I
45:29I would keep an eye on that. Uh, the Bears pass rush is like not great, but um, obviously losing your starting
45:36center isn't ideal for for betting on the quarterback. So, but yeah, I think it's a pretty good matchup for Dart. I
45:43I'm a little bit interested in Wandell Robinson here.
45:45>> I I think there's a bullc case to make for both receivers. It's just, you know, said >> I it's an equal opportunity defense.
45:54>> The guy um >> and they've been pretty good against the run since the buy the Bears like it's so like I I mean you they you would think
46:01they would drive the Giants to push the pass if the weather's not involved >> and the Giants run game not the same
46:08without Scataboo. So they >> no, >> you know, and and we saw Wandell back in kind of the short AOT stuff. So they may
46:15be kind of pivoting him.
46:16>> Yeah, they were playing Ray Ray Mloud at outside receiver.
46:20>> This is the one I teased. 92% route participation for Ray Ray Ray Mloud.
46:25Squirrel Patrol mentioned him as a as a possible DFS player.
46:28>> Yeah, so did Hy low and I said I'm not doing it. [laughter] >> But fair but fair enough. Like someone
46:33you're that's why I said it's an uncomfortable slate. You definitely have to play if you want to like be team jamming him in this week. You got to
46:40play a shitty dude.
46:42>> I think he's on if you're making a list of shitty dudes that you can actually play. He has to be on that list.
46:48>> He ran all the routes and it's a pretty it's a it's a really good matchup.
46:51>> Yep.
46:51>> And and we just talked the corner the nickel corner is one of the guys who's out. Although all three corners stink,
46:56so it doesn't really matter. But I guess you and >> but still Yeah. He Oh yeah. Wow. Yeah.
47:02Well still did it like Wando didn't move. It was just they cuz you know Ray Mloud like historically has been like
47:07the guy you want to move into the slot but they didn't like he basically just was little Jordan Humphrey.
47:12>> They're kind of doing the Bucks thing when they had uh I bua well Taz and Shepard. It's like all slot
47:19>> and then uh yeah the Giants are going to take that. They need to replace Sllayton with um I don't know who who would be
47:25good. Greg Dorch. Trade Slayton for Greg Dor.
47:28>> Get all the dudes. [laughter] Um, yeah. So, I don't know. I mean, I kind of like the Giants. I It's not like
47:37an absolute smash spot because of the game environment, but sometimes we see this pan out, okay, where one team's like efficiently scoring on the ground
47:46and then the other team has to pass a bunch. Do you have any interest in Theo Johnson here?
47:51>> Not like a ton. I I think it's positive.
47:53It's just that Theo Johnson's just such a guy that's dependent on like that red zone role, and he does have it to be
47:58fair. It's just he does nothing but score outside of scoring touchdowns and like to me like that type of player is
48:04always just so hard to chase in football. Like I mean he is 34 receiving yards or fewer in every game but one
48:11this season >> but you know when he gets when dark in the Giants get the red zone like he's involved. Uh uh only Dallas Guyard has
48:18scored more fantasy points off touchdowns than Theo Johnson. Uh 38% of his points but he has a 32% red zone target share from Dart. Um, so it it's
48:28real. It's just touchdown or nothing. I I'm definitely more interested in the two wide receivers. Um, obviously I don't have any push back of like you're
48:35streaming Theo or you're playing him or or you just don't care if he doesn't score all you care about him scoring
48:40that touchdown.
48:41>> But >> Right. Right. Right.
48:43>> I mean, he's very stackable with Dart because you're >> Yeah. You know, >> I mean, so are the receivers. They're
48:47both affordable. There's, like I said, bull case to make for both guys. I mean, the Bears are uh 30th in points allowed
48:54to slot receivers. They're also allowing the league's highest catch rate to wide receivers on throws 10 and 20 yards downfield. You just need Sllayton to
49:02like not want to leave one of these plays on the field. It's every week with this dude. He leaves a huge play on the
49:06field. Now, one was taken from him on the OPI that was like a phantom OPI, but uh you know, he had the two plays
49:12against the Saints that would have pushed him into a ceiling week. And then last week he has a 34 yard touchdown in
49:17his hands and for some reason sticks his own arm out to not protect the ball and it causes the ball to come out because
49:22he braces himself. He takes a you know takes his hand off the ball to brace himself like just fall down dude. Like
49:28you're paid millions of dollars like like but you know and he doesn't and he doesn't he doesn't hold on to the ball
49:35because of that. But he's over 20% target share three games in a row.
49:39>> I think both guys are interesting to to play with him. I'm waiting to see kind of how things shake up. I think if the
49:45weather is bad, I'm more drawn to Wandell, like the shorter target stuff.
49:49>> Yeah.
49:49>> And then and then if it's like fine, I might chase the ceiling stuff. But both guys are priced in an area where there's
49:55a lot of guys like that are getting popped in Sims early where I'm like that dude's not as good as Darius Sllayton
50:00like or like it has a role like Darius Slayton. So like I would be go back to him again if like the weather's fine and
50:06like he's not really tracking for any ownership.
50:10Right now, Kevin Roth has um a bit of rain. Snow mix is possible.
50:14>> Currently taking more snow than rain pregame.
50:17>> Uh 15 to 20 mph winds >> with gusts up to 30.
50:21>> He had this one as like an orange one early, but this >> got yellow orange now.
50:26>> This stuff always changer, but the wind, precipitation, and cold is not ideal.
50:31>> Yeah.
50:32>> So, it seems okay.
50:33>> Yeah. And it could be nothing by the time we get there.
50:36>> Yeah. Worth keeping an eye on for sure.
50:38Um, anything on the Bears passing game?
50:44>> No, just because of the like I think there's signal for Rome if you want to do the FL. Uh, you know, just the week
50:49prior to this he had 10 targets. I don't think we need to panic. Uh, the matchup for the man cover stuff. You know,
50:54you've probably heard people cite it again. I just don't think there's going to be a lot of target distribution in this game. I'm fine. I'm gonna probably
51:01mix Rome in uh into some stuff, but like he's the only one. Like I'm not gonna chase Lovelin here because I don't think
51:09there's going to just be enough completions to go around. Uh Giants also been kind of sneaky good against tight ends too. And Lovelin two weeks ago when
51:17he had the run out with KT out like wasn't very good either. So and that was in a game like they were trailing. So I
51:25think it's just Rome or nothing for me here.
51:28>> Yeah, I feel similarly. I mean you also have Luther Burton coming back. Um, and you know, I would love if that meant we
51:36could play Luther Burden. It does not.
51:38Uh, but Burton has been like getting meaningful work. Like he he had 39% route participation against the Commanders in week six, then 33%. He had
51:4831% targets per route run in that a game against the Commanders, 22% against the Saints, he was at 20% uh against the
51:54Ravens, although only played 12% cuz he had a concussion. But he's stealing like meaningful targets. Like these are not targets you want to be giving up if if
52:01you've got DJ Moore or Olm Zakias like or even Lovelin like it's just not it's just not a thing you want added to the
52:09offense and I think he'll be back in kind of that normal role. So >> he's Chicago Marvin Mims man.
52:15>> That is what he is. Yeah. Wish it was not what he is but that's what he is.
52:22I'm sad now. You've really bummed me out. But it's a good >> Well, that's what like you can get you can get a splash play like you know he's
52:28a splash play guy. Like if the game environment's hot like you maybe you could run run into something. Um >> Yep.
52:35>> Because he's still like all the like even on a small sample like the it's he's turning in explosives.
52:42>> Yeah. Kind of wish they would play him but uh they won't. [laughter] Well, I said I do expect the Bears to
52:48run the football here effectively and ultimately win this game. And I think that's what drives this game into potentially being kind of more
52:55meandering and lower like passing volume from the Bear side.
52:58>> Um, >> totally, totally.
53:00>> Dart Dart's someone I'm just like not concerned about because like DraftKings refused to change his price. Uh, and I'm like, "All right, well, okay." because
53:07he's been like he's been the QB4 since he took over and like keeps getting priced >> in the mid like fives and it's just like
53:14this dude's cheaper than Jared Goff again. Cool. All right. Like >> yeah.
53:20>> No, that's a good point. Um Bills at Dolphins. Another game where I feel like we're we're dealing with u a runheavy
53:27offense. This one though, obviously you have Josh Allen, so if they even if they run a lot, you could have a really
53:34efficient game from him. And what if they don't? like what if they don't they they could absolutely smash but they are
53:39going to James Cook's been awesome.
53:42>> You can't really even fault them. You know they just they went run heavy against the Chiefs last week but won
53:47right they they have been kind of smashing teams. Um now they did go run heavy against the Patriots and Falcons and lost both games but you know
53:55whatever. They they went into their buy after losing two games by going run heavy and then went super duper runheavy in the next two games and and have
54:04gotten wins. So, the pivot was to pass even less. Uh, and I think in this matchup where Dolphins opponents are averaging just a 56% pass rate, which is
54:14also what the Bills are averaging this year, Dolphins opponents have a minus 4% proe. Uh, this is a team you run on.
54:20This is a big time run funnel. Um, James Cook set up really well here. I actually kind of feel like he's a little
54:27underprojected. I understand why where he's not getting targeted and you have to like >> he's like old school Jonathan Taylor somehow like how did we get here? How
54:35did we get here?
54:36>> Very tailory. And but I I'm willing to bet if if you're telling me I need to bump up a little efficiency. I'm willing
54:42to bump it up here. I think he'll be very efficient. Very very efficient.
54:46>> Yeah, especially the last two weeks running on the Chiefs and and Panthers.
54:49Uh I I'm pretty pretty confident he will as well. The run games also lowkey the Bills we never talk about it. Their
54:55offensive line is awesome. Like we never really even give them like credit.
54:58>> We never really give them that credit.
54:59Yeah.
55:00>> Their offensive line is is has been good for like three years in a row. Like it's been like >> they're number two in run block win
55:06rate.
55:07>> I mean they have Deion Dawkins is awesome. Spencer Brown's awesome. Like we I feel like they it kind of flies
55:12under the radar with the Bills because Josh Allen carries so much cache. Like their line is great.
55:15>> Yeah. They're number one in pass block win rate, number two in run block win rate, fifth in PFF's pass block grades
55:21>> and it's been like years a couple years running they've been like really good.
55:25>> We talked about that. I don't know. I don't know. It's a great point.
55:29>> They're They're great though. Like great offensive line and a run first team. Um yeah, they're going to be fine here. I
55:35will say this, like this game's fun because the Dolphins very rarely ever beat the Bills, but they hang around and and that's we care at least for fantasy
55:45football, we care about that. Josh Allen is 14-2 against the Dolphins. U but uh I think he's one and one and five as a
55:54favorite of more than a touchdown against them. And we saw them at home.
55:56They were 12-point favorites against the Dolphins earlier this year. The Dolphins pushed them. U so and if the Dolphins do hang around, we know why they hung
56:05around. They're two good players on their offense, >> right?
56:08>> So you got Deon Han. Uh and remember the last time these teams played was on a Thursday night. Devin Han had a reduced
56:15workload that week on a short week. Now he's at the inverse. He's coming off of a Thursday game and has the long rest
56:21and Alli Gordon's kind of banged up. So, I think he's gonna have a high workload and then Waddle's been really good since
56:27the Tyreek Kilt like we all thought, right? Like, >> yeah, >> uh the opp because Mike McDaniel is one of the other ones he's coaches like if
56:33he's gonna get the ball to the guys that are the best football players at the given time and right now at the given
56:37time like Jaylen Wadd is clearly one of the best football players on the team since they've lost Tyreek Hill. He's the
56:43wide receiver four in yards per out run.
56:44He's a wide receiver three in air yards.
56:46Uh he's the wide receiver uh five in receiving yards. He's been a top 25 scorer in four of those five games with
56:52two wide receiver one scoring weeks. And oh yeah, the Bills are 31st in points allowed the wide receiver ones. So if
56:59this game is like the Dolphins do push back and we have more evidence of the Dolphins being like a competent offense
57:05this year than a bad one. They do have a few outright duds this year, but if they do push, it's going to be because of
57:10these two guys.
57:13>> Yeah, that you mentioned four or five games has been awesome. That fifth game does make me nervous. That was the
57:19Browns game. 0.56 yards per hour run in that game as Tua just completely melted down. Uh he was zero percentile in EPA
57:29per play in that game. And pressure man, you can't like Tua is he's tricky because 4 point the 2.49 second time to
57:41throw is the fastest in the NFL. Aaron Rogers is in second place at 2.577 seconds. It's a pretty big gap. He's
57:48getting the ball out really really quickly, which you would think would be a good fit for this matchup because um the the Bills do have a pretty decent
57:56pass rush. But the problem that I have is like it's not just that Tua gets the ball out quickly. It's that like he
58:03clearly is super sensitive to pressure and can kind of melt down under pressure. Uh Bills are fourth in quick pressure rate and second in pressure
58:12rate. It's a pretty good pass rush.
58:15They're really bad run defense. I he was Buns the first time they played. I think he had four yards for pass attempt the
58:21first time they played.
58:23>> Yeah. So I'm worried you're not cared about Tua like Yeah. I don't expect Tua to be good.
58:28>> I guess you're worried about the crater.
58:30You're worried about >> I worry about a crater.
58:32>> Tua can Tua can absolutely crater. We we've seen it. It's just like the whole offense is ruined.
58:37>> Um so that's the part that concerns me.
58:39It makes me more nervous about Waddle than Achan because because this run defense does stink and they're down at Oliver now. uh for the rest of the year.
58:48So, you know, and they're already 30th in DVOA, 29th in EPA, and 26th in success rate. Maybe that's overstating how good they are even. And uh
58:57>> and Ali Gordon is banged up. He's expected to play, but Achan's not a guy we were like, "Oh, >> is he not going to get 22 carries?"
59:04Like, yeah, he's not. And that's fine.
59:06That's not what you're betting on. Um so, he'll get enough and he'll also get plenty of reception. So I think Achan's
59:12a really strong play here even with my concern about Tua Wadd I have more as a a wide re like a high-end wide receiver
59:19too. I wanted to be more excited than I am. It's just that >> you know Tua is just th this is this is
59:27a good enough pass rush where it could the bottom could fall out >> and they were on uh the only difference
59:33is they can't play the same way they did against the Chiefs. Man, Matt Naggie, what were you doing last week? Uh just
59:39the you know last week the Bills just wanted to play dime and rush four and rush three like the old like Lou Big Lou
59:45did this to Mahomes a few times but like Matt Naggie and the Chiefs just wanted to throw down field like they wanted to
59:49do nothing short that's the opposite here like >> yeah you know they're going to throw short the whole game pretty [laughter]
59:58exact opposite but >> but yeah yeah that'd be the concern but if if the if it's a push where the Dolphins are pushing though the outcome
60:06is just like you know where it's coming from >> Well, how interested are you in in Allen in the passing game because you kind of
60:13need the Dolphins to push back a bit, I think, given how the Bills have been playing recently.
60:17>> Yeah, I said the first game, too. It was pretty bad and still they still found a way to push because the run game was
60:23good enough and he completed enough passes. Um, so I think that they'll get a little push. I don't expect Josh All
60:29to throw 30 plus passes, but I expect him to be efficient when he throws because everyone's been efficient against the Dolphins all year. They're
60:36bad. They they blitz a ton, but they blitz for no reason because they don't get pressures on blitzes.
60:42>> Yeah, they blitz for no reason. They blitz just for the hell of it. Like, and >> they're 31st in uh EPA on blitz drop
60:47back.
60:48>> Yeah, it's crazy, man. It's absolutely >> blitz at the third highest rate per drop.
60:52>> Yeah, it's it's mindboggling. You don't have Jaylen Phillips anymore. Uh who has traded away like >> he blitz for no reason. It's so
60:58>> Yeah, he blitz for no reason. This is the deal, man. It's like the kid that plays Madden in gage eight, baby. Gage
61:03eight. [laughter] This is what I do.
61:04That's what I do. We're coming. It's like, "All right, man. Like, I've just been marching down the field on you don't care." No, man. [laughter]
61:10>> What we're doing >> what we do.
61:12>> Yeah. I mean, the Lamar the same thing.
61:14Like, that's all those blitzes don't get home. Guys are open. Guys are running into each other. Like, it's >> I expect them to be efficient. It's the
61:21thing with the Bills is you're still not like super excited about like really all the guys.
61:26>> Um, Shakir, you know what you get out of. And then Concaid is probably a little more bullish here to where like
61:32like Achan you don't even care that he's going to be on the field for 55% of the snaps or >> But I do care, man. I really do.
61:41>> He can be so efficient in this matchup.
61:43Well, you do big picture, but I think in this match it might not matter because the Dolphins are allowing the uh 31.2%
61:51of the catches against the Dolphins have been tight ends. Not only that, they're allowing they've allowed the most receptions with 20 more uh yards to
61:58tight ends. And that's exactly what Dalton Concade's doing right now. He's third in the NFL, not tight ends. Like he's behind Jackson Smith and Jigba and
62:07Puk and Aku in yards for route run. Now, some of that's inflated because he's not only running around at running routes.
62:13Yeah, >> he's not running routes, but he averages 9.2 air yards per catch. He's already 15 yards per catch. Like so if you're
62:19looking for a guy that that has to operate with high efficiency, this would be the matchup for him to operate like
62:23on high efficiency like low value.
62:25>> He's tight end one in open score. Um in addition to being tight one in yards per route run obviously and then first read
62:32target rate of 18.
62:33>> He's the only dude that gets big plays in the passing game for them.
62:36>> Yeah. No, he's I I again I I do actually do understand why he's not running more routs because they use Dawson Knox and
62:44Jackson.
62:44>> Well, he's really a wide receiver. He's really wide receiver and and so he's basically just like a big slot that they
62:50rotate and uh >> he's such a dynasty trade too. Like >> oh if you what what could you what could you get? You got you got to be shopping
62:58them.
62:58>> This Well, especially if you're like an FFPC or something where like tight ends are like juicy like or if you're in a
63:03league it's tight end for you because we've I think you've brought this up too. We tal like next year people are
63:08going to be like Dawson Knox be a free agent. People are going to sell us like dude Jackson Hos is just new Dawson
63:12Knox.
63:13>> 100%. 100%. Now, I do think if if Knox left, maybe he'd get up at least like to 60% ra participation, right? 65. 65. I
63:22would be >> I will say this. At least he's doing his role well this year.
63:27>> Yeah. I mean, he's I I'm into Harold Fannon. Isn't this the same profile?
63:32>> It is. Uh well, we know block. Fannon's a good blocker, though.
63:37Like, >> I remember coming out of my college thing. I was like, man, this dude's a way better blocker than anyone gives him
63:43credit for. I know. It's like one of those things where he's not like gonna block Miles Garrett or something, but it's like, guess what? They're never
63:50going to ask him to, so it doesn't matter. Can he block a nickel back?
63:53Yeah, >> he can.
63:54>> Yeah, and that's helpful. [snorts] >> Um, yeah, I like the I like the the Daltton Kaid call. Um, he's been so good. So,
64:06uh, that that's an interesting one.
64:08>> This will be the one. And then the Dolphins did cut uh Tanner Connor today with Julian Hill coming back. So it
64:13looks like it's going to be Doulich like still in this like quasi like whatever we're doing with this. So like >> do you think we're going to get the
64:21Darren Waller ramp up?
64:23>> I don't know just cuz like Da just like takes such a leap of faith to trust himself. But >> did you have you seen if Mike McDaniel
64:33loves his hair? [laughter] >> I love his hair.
64:37I love him say it too. Nathaniel Hackett loved his hair and that's what what drove his uh early >> Yeah. This dude is Ind indigo
64:44Mononttoya. Uh [laughter] you know love this dude.
64:50>> Great locks.
64:52>> He's literal locks. Yeah.
64:54>> Um all right. Ravens at Vikings.
64:56>> We have the Brian Flores defense which blitzes at the highest rate per drop back in the league. Um they get the
65:02highest rate of quick pressure, the highest rate of pressure. Um, they're actually a good blitzing team. They're not blitzing for no reason. They're
65:08blitzing for a very important reason, which is that they don't get pressure.
65:11Things get wonky on the back end.
65:14>> That worked really well against golf last week, who's normally good against the Blitz. He now gets Lamar Jackson, who's even better against the Blitz.
65:21Does Jackson light up this Vikings defense?
65:25>> Yeah. Uh, Brian Flores, uh, wrecked wrecked my wagon last week.
65:29>> Yeah.
65:30>> Uh, specifically Jir. He had Jir Gibbs in hell last week. Oh, like absolute jail uh with those interior blitzes like
65:37and you know Dan Campbell talked about it this week about you know how like they just didn't adjust and it's like
65:42that's what's going on the Lions. Lions are just here. We'll get the Lions. I'll save that. Uh but Brian Flores did an
65:47excellent job of of making putting Jir Gibbs into a bad spot. But when they didn't get pressure like Jared G was
65:53still 18 to 24 just under nine yards or pass attempt and like you said that's been the story of the year for them.
65:58When the Vikings don't get pressure, they're 29th in yards or pass attempt allowed, 20th in touchdown rate allowed.
66:03And if you don't get pressure on Lamar Jackson, like that's that's a problem as well. I'm very curious though to see
66:09what Brian Flores does in this game because if you remember like back in 2021, the last time these teams played, this was like a fulcrum point for Lamar
66:17Jackson's career and you know, specifically Greg Roman doing a terrible job that night. Uh remember this was like they played on I think it was a
66:23Thursday night or a Sunday night game.
66:24It was definitely a prime time game, but Brian Fuller just spammed cover zero blitzes. It was he had 21 cover zero
66:31blitzes against Lamar Jackson. It was by far the most >> just did this to him earlier this year too >> and there was a couple times where that
66:38happened uh after this like we found the thing because that that still's kind of worked a little bit against Lamar even
66:45under Todd Mon. So Lamar's amazing blitz numbers against uh since he's had Monan, but cover zero under Monan, this is not
66:53just like this year, this is the the two years plus, he only has a 54% completion rate and 4.6 yards for pass attempt
67:00against cover zero. Um and last year I wrote about this in the playoffs when the Bills calibrated. It's like it's like choosing a lesser of evils because
67:08Lamar is Lamar. He's going to do some Lamar stuff in the game, but if you play just like zone and zone blitzes, like
67:13Lamar is absolutely killing like 12 yards for pass attempt under Minan.
67:17Again, not even just this year. 9.7 yards for pass attempt to get zone coverage in general under Monan. Like these all lead the league and then man
67:24blitzes, it goes down to seven and a half yards for past them. That's still 13th in the league, but it's like it's
67:29not first in the league. So, you're choosing like the lesser of evils of like, hey, this dude's a really good player. How can we just disrupt him in
67:36any capacity? And although the Vikings don't play like they play a lot of zone behind their blitzes, they still are actually third this season in rate of
67:44cover zero this year. So I'm very curious just to see what he does. Now I think Lamar is still going to be very
67:50good here and indoors and the the the Ravens are just so good in general with under Mon with Lamar like they're
67:58averaging 6.4 yards per play when he's been on the field this year. Uh by far would be number one. So but I am just
68:04the cat and mouse game is intriguing to me.
68:07It's intriguing to me, too. And this is one of those games [clears throat] I talked about kind of like low confidence
68:13but high upside. And this is very much on that list for me where um I can see the Vikings being pretty
68:21fun here. Um and I can see the Ravens being really really fun. Uh but I could also see Brian Flores like he did last
68:30week kind of getting the better of the opposing quarterback. So, it's not it's not locked in.
68:34>> The um the Vikings defense has been a big run funnel. Teams are averaging a 55% pass rate against them with a minus
68:425% proe and a 4% shift to the run, but the Vikings aren't that bad against the run. And it seems >> Well, they're all over the place.
68:50>> They're a little Yeah, they they've been but they uh obviously they're quite good last week. It's more that teams are kind
68:58of avoiding this blitzing defense. uh you know from from the pass perspective than they are like attacking a big weakness um like this isn't the Giants
69:08you know this is a solid run defense it's just like running on them helps you avoid the pass rush well what if Lamar's
69:16cooking against the pass rush and and is attacking a pretty weak secondary like there's this the numbers that say oh you
69:23run on the Vikings might not apply here this might be a spot where actually you pass on the Vikings kind of like we saw
69:29with the Eagles The Eagles were very effective when they played the Vikings and had big plays downfield. And so there's definitely upside for that here.
69:39Um Z Flowers just got double teamed a ton against the Dolphins. 42% double coverage rate, his highest of the year by far. Uh he hasn't actually faced that
69:49much double coverage this year. It's only 53rd percentile double coverage rate. The Vikings double cover at the highest rate in the league. So it could
69:57be a tough game for Flowers. He's also kind of volatile here. He could also rack up a bunch of targets against the
70:03Blitz. Um, but Baitman is someone who I'm like more interested in than usual.
70:10Another one of these like, you know, slanty guys where you're like, "Yeah, I think in this week maybe, you know, we
70:16we bet on some big plays downfield." If you get extra defensive attention to flowers, we're kind of betting on, you know, the the Ravens maybe to be
70:26achieving success more in like fits and starts than just like, you know, amazing success rate, you know, play after play, moving the ball downfield in chunks, but
70:34instead hitting them for big plays.
70:36>> That's what I think.
70:36>> Baitman fits that pretty well. So, he's someone that jumped out to me in this matchup. And then you do have Derrick
70:42Henry who what if they do lean on the run? um you know, he's he could be the engine of the offense if if uh the blitz
70:50is really disrupting Lamar. So, there's like a number of ways I can see this game playing out, but there's some fun
70:56angles.
70:57>> Yeah, absolutely. Uh and it's like we're getting the Ravens like uh indoors, which is like not something we we very
71:03often get them, you know, playing on turf, which is kind of fun. A team that can definitely create explosives, too. I
71:09kind of see it similarly like I could see the Vikings having like some maybe even have like a decent success rate
71:15here but like when they give up plays like they're going to give up explosives I think uh this Raven to this Ravens
71:21offense like it's going to be a game still where it evens out like we're where maybe I should approach that differently. Maybe I should say the
71:26Ravens have maybe a lower success rate in offense than typical but still have like a high yards per play. Uh, and
71:32that's what that's what I bet on last week cuz I was like I kind of liked Goff last week and thought that he uh like I
71:39had a stack with >> and they still scored. The the passing stack still cash like I had a Lions passing stack that was still good.
71:46>> Yeah. But the problem was the success rate was lower than usual and then the efficiency was also lower than usual.
71:52But you want you want them to be kind of like more like the Eagles model. But um the Vikings are 26th in preventing
72:00explosive plays. They're 24th in coverage grade. They're 31st in uh allowing efficiency in the splash zone, 10 plus yards and over the middle. So,
72:09you are they are allowing like those those big chunk plays that that create Yak. You know, you can see Andrews getting loose in the middle of the
72:16field. Flowers, you know, getting some of those targets. Maybe this could be there could be some real highlight throws and highlight plays on the Ravens
72:23side. Um, on the Vikings side, I'm kind of diverging from some of the enthusiasm with JJ McCarthy last week where he like
72:34he was 21st percentile in e paper play against the Lions. He was 17th percentile in success rate. Like that was a defensive driven win I think. Um,
72:44>> special teams and defense were huge for them last week.
72:48>> Yeah. And so McCarthy like, oh, maybe McCarthy's not so bad. that narrative I'm selling. Like we never should have been as confident that he was atrocious
72:58as we were with two games on his resume.
73:01>> And we still shouldn't be confident that he's that he's really bad, but I don't think that last week gave us like a ton
73:06of reason to think he's good. Um, >> however, if you look at this matchup, this is a spot where a a McCarthy style
73:16quarterback, even if not very good, could have a good game. And and that style, by the way, is a semi-mobile bonixian type of rusher.
73:25They have like almost identical rushing stats this year, at least they did, heading into into Thursday. And uh you have an a guy who holds the ball a
73:35really long time, but who is attacking deep. He has the highest deep uh attempt rate in the NFL. And so you have this
73:43profile that looks kind of similar to like Jackson Darts, um a little bit like, you know, Jaylen Herz with obviously worse rushing equity. You
73:51don't get the tush push and stuff, but it's like this kind of bonex level rusher, but he's like attack. He's holding the ball and attacking
73:57downfield, you know, kind of like uh like a Justin Fields, but without, you know, not as much rushing equity like like Drake May. Drake May's uh 3.07
74:07second time to throw. Um uh McCarthy is at 3.10. So, they're very similar there.
74:14Uh he's tied with Jackson Dart. Dart is probably the the best comp where you have this this rushing equity that's not
74:20amazing but is something and then you've got a guy who's attacking downfield.
74:24Well, the Ravens pass rush isn't good.
74:27They're very banged up. Um Nami Madabk has been out for weeks. Broadick Washington now on IR. Tavius Robinson who's on IR. They traded Adafay to the
74:36Chargers to get Alohai Gilman. So um they just don't really have any dudes in the trash drones this week.
74:44>> Yeah, they did. But I'm I mean I don't think it's going to like >> it's a body. I'm saying yeah they they
74:50they they are aware of it too is what we're saying.
74:53>> Yeah. I mean Kyle Hamilton's kind of the guy right now.
74:56>> Yeah. He's basically just playing the edge linebacker, >> right? And that's what So the Gilman trade's been helpful that way. But I
75:02mean they're they're 29th in quick pressure rate. They're 30th in pressure rate. And um you know they they've lost a couple other dudes other than Mabke
75:11now with Washington. So and Robinson. So yeah, it's it's a it's a spot where like, okay, you probably can hold the
75:17ball against the Ravens and you can kind of run around and like, you know, be like a little Caleb Williamsy, right?
75:24Which doesn't mean you're going to actually succeed because Williams flopped in this very matchup. But um you know, it's intriguing to me. I I think
75:34the I think the Vikings could actually be pretty funny. Like even if McCarthy's bad ultimately, like big picture, he's a bust. I think this could be a good game.
75:42And uh so that has me kind of intrigued.
75:45And you've got Jordan Addison who I think is kind of interesting in this game. Obviously Justin Jefferson, like Justin Jefferson, if McCarthy is good
75:51and comes alive in this matchup, like he could break the slate straight up. So I think uh I think Jefferson's really fun.
75:58Um and yeah, Addison's fun, too. So this is like super low confidence for me, especially because Christian Darasol popped up on the injury report, which
76:06would be a huge problem for the Vikings if he's out. Uh but my you know it's on my radar.
76:15>> Yeah. We just I want to see what McCarthy looks like just put like in in negative game state. We haven't seen it
76:21yet, right? Like it's they've been able to kind of nurse him along in all these games. Even the game that they outright
76:26like were never really they were right.
76:28>> Well, they were never really in it, but like the Falcons didn't really do anything either. So like >> yeah, >> it wasn't like you know like I would
76:35love to see the Ravens go up like 14 nothing here like and then just see what happen to to like actually have like a a
76:41nice like sampling to see like why McCarthy what do you have right like it's all the same stuff he did at
76:47Michigan like you know just kind of coaxing along like makes enough plays but like misses plays too >> like you're like all right man he you
76:56can see like he has it there on that play like that throw to nailer you're like all right we got it like and And
77:01like he he had another >> plays look good.
77:03>> Yeah. Then he had another play like third down earlier in the game that was like atrocious. Like a bad miss for a
77:08wide openen dude. It's just like all right. Like it's still not like very even. There's not a lot of consistency.
77:13So I would love to see them just put in a negative game state where we get more more so for the receivers because
77:17Jefferson's still been really good uh with McCarthy. Like target share hasn't been an issue. He's over two yards per run in all these games, but like he's
77:25running 27 routes per game with JJ McCarthy. Like that's not enough. you have to operate if you're running 27 routes per game, you have to be Jackson
77:32Smith and Jigba like right and it's just like really hard to do that. Like only one dude's ever done it ever and he's
77:37doing it right now. Um you know, but like you know with with Wentz he was running 39 routes per game and it's not
77:44like he was like amazing. He was still really good but like when you're running 39 routes per game you get a lot more
77:49leeway and you can stack volume. It's just harder to stack volume and it's and it's harder to go crazy for fantasy
77:55football when you're asked to win uh efficiently on 27 routes because even right now Jay McCarthy's not Sam Darnold so you know you don't have that going he
78:04doesn't have that going for him which is funny because they could have Sam Darnold but here you know I don't know
78:10>> yeah I mean it's definitely um you know >> they're just a wild card we won't know until we see it. Yeah, but the upside's
78:17like really high. Like this is a this is a game environment that we could see like we could be talking about Lamar
78:22pushing the Vikings throughout this game. Lamar is also underpriced. So like Lamar is a really strong play in DFS. I I like him a lot at at 6,800. Um I think
78:32he's he's kind of a smash, but >> if you do want to play and I I think I do if Darasol and I'm looking he doesn't
78:40have a designation. Maybe he just rested on Thursday, but Darasol being out would would really suck. Um, so but if he's if
78:47he's in, uh, then I think I'm going to have at least one stack of of this game.
78:53I might even do the thing where I I've been playing six lineups for a while. I might like play seven [laughter]
78:58to have to have a McCarthy one and not ruin my normal six. Um, but I'm I'm kind of excited about the potential for the
79:06Vikings to be pushed and McCarthy to be able to play like his style of football in an environment where, you know, he can he can kind of
79:16get away with that with the with the total lack of pass rush. So, um, and it's like, dude, I if you give me decent
79:24quarterback play, then the weapons can carry you. like just get to the 50th percentile and like they'll carry you over the line, you know? You don't need
79:33Yeah. Like just be okay. Just please be okay and have decent pass volume. I mean, McCarthy, I think, is 4,900.
79:41Uh yeah, he's 4,900 on DraftKings.
79:46>> Yeah. So, he's cheap. Yeah, he's definitely cheap enough especially you get a lot of drop backs and he can run.
79:52>> Are you is he going to make your I know you have a tight quarterback pull. I assume he's not going to make it.
79:56>> Probably. No, but you that was a it's a pretty good sell though like uh cuz I mean because I'm into the Ravens pushing
80:02them like >> Yeah, you know. So yeah, I mean to be fair salary.
80:08>> Yeah, we do need salary and you know >> and you you have to play him with Jefferson at 7,900. So there your salary
80:14is immediately gone.
80:16>> Yeah, it's gone. Uh to be fair though, like probably later I was going to try to sell you on 4,300 Davis Mills. So
80:22like what's the difference?
80:24>> [laughter] >> Yeah. Yeah. You're not I'm going I'm going McCarthy all day. All day.
80:29I can't do Mills, man. I can't.
80:31>> Yeah. Well, Mills, you don't have to stack. That's the thing.
80:35>> I mean, you could stack You could stack McCarthy Addison. He's 5,400.
80:39>> Yeah, you can. You can. And like you could do uh Schultz, too, but I'm not doing that. It's literally a play just
80:44to get your to team jam him in, right?
80:46Like it's the old school >> playing paid for a pay down quarterback while on a slate where people are going to pay down for wide receivers because
80:53you want to get CMC plus Puka or Aman Rah like uh plus Dowel like you want to get the dudes in and like people are
81:01going to be building rosters this week through a bad receiver. But if you cuz like a McCarthy and like a Davis Mill
81:08I've heard people tout Kyle Williams dude.
81:10>> Yeah. Well I I brought him up a little bit. It's like a man like Ray. Oh, you were looking at me. [laughter] Ray
81:16Mloud, you we got Ray Mloud thrown out.
81:18I got one more real bad one later, too.
81:20Wait, just wait. Uh um but if you want to go the inverse route and just say, "Hey, McCarthy, uh which I think is a
81:27great shout for this same premise. Uh or Davis Mills, you play them Alcart, you don't even have to stack them." Yeah.
81:33And you're not you're not counting on them to give you a tournament worthy score at their salary. You're just counting them to beat salary because of
81:39what it does for the rest of their roster. If you beat Salary at quarterback, that is more significant than like our 3K receiver just beating
81:47salary and getting 11 points. Like if a Mills or McCarthy has like an 18 or 20 point game or god forbid even one of
81:53them gets to a bonus, >> uh you're in a way better spot then because you paid up for another wide receiver and you were able to kind of
82:01create a proxy of what people already were getting out of quarterbacks anyways. So, uh, there's just a way to play through that slate where you don't
82:07have to even you just play the cheap quarterback and you hope that hits because you're what you're that's allowing you to jam in the other guys.
82:13>> Naked McCarthy. It's kind it's kind of interesting.
82:15>> I mean, to be fair, it was a it was a it was a pretty good sell because of uh I
82:19was already in on the Ravens pushing them anyways, whereas uh really my only sell for Mills when we get there is the
82:24Jaguars are terrible. But >> now, if you're if you're sold on McCarthy, do me a favor and don't watch the video of him becoming nine. That's
82:33uh that's gonna get you off of of >> gonna get me off. Yeah.
82:37>> But no, I think it was I think it was solid. Yeah. So >> yeah, not a not a big not real into that. Someone was
82:45comparing it to the uh to the Russ Wilson stuff. Seems >> Yeah, there was some of that after the game. And uh yeah, there was there is a
82:55little bit, but I mean listen, yeah, he's a but he's a Harbaugh disciple.
82:57Like what do you expect out of these dudes? You know what I mean? Like like Harbaugh indoctrinated that dude like >> Yeah,
83:04>> it's like peak Harbaugh [ __ ] >> That [laughter] is some peak harbball for sure.
83:08>> Yeah, like Herbert's immune to it. Like basically Harbo had to go out of his way this off seasonason to call basically
83:14stopped short of calling Herbert Jesus because Herbert's so passive because just Herbert's just such like a you know >> Herbert does seem like more fired up
83:21this year though. It seems like it's he's he's broken through.
83:24>> Yeah. Like Harball's like dude how do I get through this dude? Like I just got to tell him he's Jesus. Like I gotta let
83:29him know like he's [laughter] football Jesus. Like it's the only way.
83:32>> What do you think Herbert's alter ego is? Is it Is it Is it like Herb and he's just like also like a pretty chill dude?
83:40>> Yeah, it would fit a Herb, too. Like, >> hey, it's Herb.
83:44>> Herb. [laughter] >> Hey, Herb's here. What's up, man?
83:49>> Hey. [laughter] >> But yeah. Yeah. JJ McCarthy is the Harbaugh of Harball quarterbacks. Like, for sure.
83:56>> For sure. Um, all right. Let's go to >> Yeah, I'm kind of into it. I'm I'm gonna play I'm gonna play a line.
84:02>> Yeah. Yeah, I think that was solid. I think it was a solid sell.
84:05>> Yeah, we'll see. We'll see. It might It might flop. But this is a slate. Like the other thing that you're selling
84:10yourself on, by the way, when you do um you know, the these like cheap quarterbacks is that like I win a
84:15tournament with like 205 points. You know, I don't need do I need 245? Maybe not.
84:22>> Yeah. And this might be a slate for that to be honest because >> uh it's not a super quarterback driven
84:27slate. Although we could have quarterback like there there's the argument to make for spike week quarterbacks. We talk about Josh Allen,
84:32we talk about but there there's enough volatility that maybe they don't get there. So it makes it's a tough week where like in a big enough tournament,
84:41>> you know, someone will have all the right pieces together, but it's a it's a week where I feel like >> someone's winning, you know, one of
84:47these smaller field like the smaller spy might have a snowflake in the winning lineup type of week where it's just like
84:53hard to be like right about all the things. To be fair, we have not had a slate this year where like I mean, man,
84:59I have been uh dude, last week I had like so many 195s to 205s and you have one piece bad, you can't win.
85:06>> And this this week might be the first week where we have like you just don't you can actually potentially, >> you know, be in like the front end of
85:13the circle with a miss maybe because people taking on a lot of risk this week.
85:18>> You have to you have to take risk.
85:20>> I called the uncomfortable slate. This is our first uncomfortable slate because of that.
85:23>> Yeah. I don't I don't think answer to this to this slate is like you know like I don't even know what the com all comfy
85:31clicks would even be because it's a price it's a tight pricing but like you're kind of forced to go take risks
85:35somewhere so >> it's just going to be hard to be right about um you know your entire lineup top to bottom someone will do it but in
85:42smaller field stuff you know maybe you can get there without massive massive scores >> uh before I always do like my Wednesday
85:50show I always want to see like where so I do like the worksheet first write up all players and then I don't want to be
85:54like influenced by anything. So I do all that first and we go on the Wednesday show where it's like the first look at
85:59the slate. I that's when I run like my first Sams. I don't make any rules. I just want to see like what the
86:03projections give us. And the first first round gave us gave me Keon Coleman and I was like oh it's one of these weeks. I
86:10was like hey it's one of these weeks.
86:12Like now you start to see like the Sims have like started to adjust up but like now you start to see guys like Jerry
86:16Judy popping in. It's just like all right like this is that kind of slate man.
86:20>> It is.
86:21>> It really is. Speaking of Browns at Jets, uh, are you are you playing Jerry Judy this week?
86:27>> I'm not, but someone will. I like Mike Leone probably will. Like the projection dudes. I mean, to be fair, like he's
86:33>> fired.
86:33>> He's 30. Listen, I tried last week. No, like that, you know, like he you know, listen, Mike's way more money than
86:39Oliver win at DS [laughter] because he's because he does [ __ ] like play Jerry Judy when he plays Jerry Judy
86:43when you're supposed to play.
86:44>> We we tried to sell Jerry Judy a couple weeks ago. I made a lineup with him because someone even tried to call
86:48>> I had a lineup.
86:49>> Someone tried to call us out. I was like, I was like, I'll show you the lineup. I played Judy.
86:52>> I didn't bother. I'm not really on X these days.
86:54>> No, I know. But >> I did have a Judy lineup. So, it wasn't that >> That was also the week I played Troy
86:59Franklin a ton. He didn't ask me about that. He only asked for the Judy lineup.
87:02But that's fair. But, uh, >> it is fair.
87:05>> But my problem is Jerry Judy has now become a circumference bet on Dylan Gabriel, >> right?
87:11>> I don't I that's a hard bet to make.
87:13Like you could I can absolutely be talking to Quinchon Judkins on this thing.
87:17>> Oh, I'm gonna try to talk you into him.
87:19>> Oh, yeah. I don't need it. I don't either. [laughter] But like Dylan Gabriel to targeting wide receivers this year has a 42%
87:29completion rate.
87:30>> Come on.
87:30>> The league average is 64%. The next closest quarterback is Cam Ward. He's 10% higher than Dylan Gabriel.
87:40>> It's I mean he he also Gabriel has targeted wide receivers only on 42.8% of his throws. Only Aaron Rogers is lower.
87:49So, not only is he not throwing to wide receivers a lot, when he does throw to them, he's not connecting with them. So,
87:56>> here's here's his success rate on the year. Um, he's like way worse. This is Cam Ward, right? This is Russell Wilson.
88:04This is Jake Browning.
88:05>> I love when you can diagnose the names because sometimes you'll get a cluster.
88:08You be like, "All right, well, where's the guy I'm looking for?" You're like, "No, it's so definitive. He's in his own
88:11area. He's on an island."
88:13>> Like, this chart would end here. Like this would just be a tighter chart.
88:17Yes.
88:17>> If not for this dot. Like it's crazy.
88:21>> His success.
88:21>> He's the Bermuda Triangle. He's the literal Bermuda Triangle. Like what are we?
88:29>> Yeah. So I mean it's it's it's pretty bad. They It's Stfansky just handed off play calling duties to Tommy Ree. Um
88:37which I think tells you something that like normally if you're the play caller head coach, you just change your quarterback. So, I do think it tells you
88:45they don't want to play Sanders. Um, but we're headed there anyway. I think given how bad >> there's no way that there's no way we
88:52don't see him eventually.
88:53>> We'll see him eventually. We'll see him in like week 17 and 18 when the season's completely ended. But I think they just
88:58don't want to like have >> everything. I don't want to deal with anything like either like it's just not worth the squeeze right now.
89:06>> It's not. So, with >> But this is a game where how many dropbacks are they going to have this game?
89:11>> Exactly. Exactly. And the and the Jets have been terrible against the pass, but they've been decent against the run.
89:18However, >> yes. However, >> Quinn Williams uh fifth most defensive snaps of any Jet this year. He was defensive tackle 17 in pass rush win
89:27rate. He's been a really good pass rusher over his career. Not amazing this year, but still good. But defensive tackle two in run stop win rate and
89:34defensive tackle one in the league in PFF's run defense grades. So, this dude was a legit run stuffer now on the
89:43Cowboys. Um, S Gardner gone. That'll obviously hurt more in pass coverage than in run defense, but he was uh quarterback four in run defense grade.
89:52Pretty good in the run game. Andre Cisco, safety, he's on injured reserve now. He was one of the best uh run
89:59defenders on the back end uh along with Gardner. So, both of those guys are gone.
90:04Um, they benched Quincy Williams, which probably doesn't matter, but you trade his brother and then bench him. And why didn't you just trade him, too? It's
90:13weird. Just seems like a defense like they just stripped this defense down.
90:18Like, I can't imagine what it's like to be left as a in the Jets defensive room.
90:23You know, it [laughter] >> imagine being Greece Hall and knowing the Chiefs offered that trade and they turned it down. Like you would rather
90:34just not know, right? Like it's just like >> you know like Bree Hall is like he's like in the shower not thinking about it
90:42and it just like hits me. He's just like like it's just like one of those like >> oh dude he probably thinks about it
90:49every hour.
90:50>> It pops into his brain uninvited. He's like I could be on the [ __ ] Chiefs.
90:54Dude, he's gonna think about it during this game in the second quarter when it's like they have they probably have like 14 yards of offense on their first
91:02three drives.
91:04>> Dude, >> I'm like such a big Bruce Hall fan and writing this up, I was like, >> nope.
91:09>> This is how I this is how I felt writing up writing them up heading into that Broncos game. Like this this is like you
91:16just don't don't touch don't touch the Jets. Just don't touch the Jets. It's going to be bad.
91:21>> It's gonna be real bad.
91:22>> Yeah. Yeah, with Quinnon Williams off the field this year, they face 68 running back runs. They've allowed 5.2 yards per carry, which would be 30th in
91:29the NFL, and one and a half yards before contact per rush. Again, that's just small sample. So, I flushed this thing
91:35out for the last three years without Quinn Williams. They faced 400 uh running back runs with him off the field. So, we have a 400 running back
91:43run sample against him. They're 29th in yards per carry allowed to running backs and 28th in success rate against those runs. So, pretty big deal. he's not
91:52playing in this game. Also for Quinchan Judkins, like he's the the prototypical dude. Like >> if they're playing with a lead, he's on
92:00the field getting all the touches. Uh he he's played 62% of the offensive snaps and the Browns are tied at the lead. He
92:06has 80% of the backfield touches and he's played 40% of the This is since he came back. Uh 40% of the snaps with them
92:12trailing in only 60% of the backfield touches. Like he's gonna be the offense.
92:17He had he practiced in full all week out of the buy. like there was nothing with his shoulder.
92:22>> He's gonna get the ball toned.
92:24>> You know what I thought was interesting was when he got hurt against the Patriots um Jerome Ford did not see his
92:30snap share increase really at all. Uh and Dylan Samson came in and had 46% snaps um with uh he he had been at 16%
92:40and 18% the week before. So it feels to me like maybe Samson is just kind of your your backup Judkins in a way and
92:47and Drone Fords is going to do his like >> do his thing. Yeah, >> quarter the snaps type of role. He had
92:520% of the attempts against the Patriots, 3% against the Dolphins. I view that view that as like additionally an additional bull signal for Judkins where
93:00it's like he doesn't have any competition. You know, his competition is like a a third down back who doesn't get carries. He's going to get all the
93:07carries. 76% of the carries against the Dolphins, 71% against the Steelers, and that's that's total team attempts. So, you know, includes uh scrambles and
93:16stuff. So, yeah. Yeah, I mean he's going to get fed and Tommy Reese's taking over his play caller. I've been thinking
93:24like, you know, this is narrative street stuff, but okay, you're Tommy Reese and you're looking at the recent game plans.
93:30You get a 79% pass rate against the Steelers, 74% against the Patriots, or you get 52% pass rate against the Vikings, 48% against the Dolphins. I
93:39know which camp I would want to be in as a first-time play caller in the NFL with Dylan Gabriel as my quarterback going
93:45against an absolutely atrocious Jets defense with an offense, by the way, that's going to just run the ball even if it means they score three points in
93:53this game. They're going to run the ball non-stop. So, I mean, >> they do have a competitive advantage.
93:59They do have a competitive advantage this week because they have not announced the quarterback again. Thanks, Aaron Glad.
94:06I made a rule that was a little too lenient that Aaron Glenn was allowed to play games with the quarterback as long as he had one win.
94:14And [laughter] so I So I said, "This is allowed."
94:17>> Yeah, >> you're allowed you're allowed not to tell us who the star I'm annoyed.
94:20>> It made the write up harder, but uh but yeah, I might I might institute a two- win rule if they lose this game, though.
94:27Um, yeah. I mean, the Jets side like >> it's not so the Browns run or the Browns pass defense and pass rush gets gets the
94:37publicity because they're awesome in and Miles Garrett's amazing, but Browns are first in DVO against the run, second in EPA against the run, first in success
94:45rate against the run. And guess what the Jets are going to do? [laughter] They're going to run Paul nonstop. This is going
94:52to be I mean, they have to. Oh, and they have to because you're going to throw Justin Fields to the Wolves of this. I
94:58assume, doesn't he? I don't know.
95:00Fields. I'm sorry. I don't know. I don't know. It's who Justin Fields, but I mean, dude, we've lived the Justin Fields under pressure scenario our whole
95:08lives. Like, >> it's also Taylor. Taylor has the slowest time to throw in the league.
95:13>> He's taking a longer time than Fields.
95:15>> It's getting there, dude. Yeah, you have to get the ball like quick quick quick.
95:20Drake May succeeded against them a little bit by just like taking a bunch of sacks and then killing them when he
95:24wasn't sacked.
95:26>> So, it can be done.
95:27>> They're not doing that.
95:28>> But they're not they're not Drake May, man. This is not Drake May. They're just going to get sacked. And then like what
95:35about the killing them when you don't get sacked part? Oh, yeah. I forgot about that part. I just got sacked eight
95:40times.
95:43So, yeah, it's going to be rough. It's going to be really rough.
95:45>> Yeah. If there's any case to may be made for Bree Hall, his heart's in it is that the Browns have been a lot worse uh on
95:52outside zone and especially against guys that are a little explosive like their only running backs that have had success against them. Uh because they go to 18th
95:59in the in the league, which is again just like lesser of evils, but middle of the pack against outside zone. Jir
96:04Gibbs, Devin Achan, and Trevan Henderson are the guys like the archetype of backs that have had good games against them.
96:09And I say good games like 91, 82, and 75 yards. You're not even smashing anything. But >> Patriots are doing a lot of like pitch
96:15out stuff like they were like, you know, like like tosses >> Hall is 45% outside zone rate. So like that that's what they do. So maybe
96:22there's like an opportunity that would be the only like say the glimmer of of sunshine through the the raincloud. Uh but it's still a stretch because the
96:32offense we're just not expecting to be good and like so what kind of ceiling are you getting? Also, this feels like
96:38the sunshine like after a hurricane, like after like your house has been destroyed, you're like, "Oh, the sun's peeking through it." Like,
96:44>> when you also too, like we don't know like when this stuff happens like how the the locker room we these dudes are
96:49human beings, like we don't know how they're going to respond.
96:52>> Like I have Well, we saw last year. Do you remember last year when Salah got fired? Like, they just shut it down.
97:00>> They were That team was trash after Salah got fired.
97:04I think what Glenn's doing like is if it feels like you're trying to have a team quit on you. Like you you're trading
97:12your best guys. You're literally benching one of those guys brother.
97:17>> And don't forget the week before they understand that >> they traded their other starting quarterback the week before >> to the Eagles.
97:24>> Yeah. I've forgotten that.
97:25>> Michael Carter. Although Michael Carter is not I mean he's you know kind of whatever but >> yeah but >> he was still like they're they're
97:31playing three new basically three quarterbacks that weren't starters this year to start the year.
97:37>> Yeah. And [clears throat] uh Aaria Thomas has not been good and he's going to have a big role now.
97:43>> Yeah.
97:43>> So >> play Jerry Judy.
97:48>> I mean it's gonna happen right? Like he's because he's out there running around but >> Oh god. But he is in that mix of dirty
97:55dudes that are like, "Hey, he's in the mix. You need dude." He's 39. He's 39.
98:00>> Oh, god damn it. God damn it.
98:03>> He's on the be on the field for 90% of the drop backs at 39.
98:08>> Listen, there's other options.
98:09>> There are other options.
98:10>> Other options. I don't think we have to do it.
98:12>> We don't. I was just saying he's going to be like there that pocket of dudes cuz he's going to pop in some sim stuff
98:17because just projection will always the median will always be like, "Well, this dude's out here." like >> well you know who might pop is uh is
98:24injoku if Fannon is dealing with this hammy I think he was at practice today and see if he >> he was he was uh they called him limited
98:31so he's questionable but yeah >> okay if he's out >> if he's out >> then yeah he'd have to be out but fan or
98:38um and Jooko would be like at 3200 legitimately interesting here um as a way to bet on this matchup >> 100% yeah if you get a guy out
98:48>> I was I was like really there was that pause and I was worried I was going to solo touting Injoku and I was just
98:53really thankful you said >> no. Yeah, he's out. Uh the bummer for Injoku is like clearly like where Gabriel's strengths are or like that's
99:00like where Fannon wins. So like >> Fannon's been like really good even with playing alongside injoku. Now they still get in the way of each other but like I
99:09think he's out scor he's outscored in Jooku I think in like three of the four games that they've played together.
99:15>> He's running more routes now.
99:17>> Yeah, >> he's the starter. I would say >> it makes sense like where he wins though. Like Gabriel's like he's the one
99:21functional dude for Gabriel.
99:23>> Right. Right. But Ajoko can do that stuff.
99:28F doing instead and he's doing it really well >> and he's their long-term answer at tight end now. So, >> you know, it makes sense. But
99:36>> shout out to Enjoku who did uh an escape room before me was in a group his rookie year. Uh >> he what?
99:42>> Yeah. Uh my so for for my birthday like this is when they were rookies. Uh we did an escape room in Cleveland and it
99:49was the same time uh Brown's rookie camp was going on. So it was like him, Jabril Peppers and our thing and like we're in
99:54there. We'd go to check in to go do our thing and like there's just like this this this huge dude in front of me. I'm
100:00like looking at him. I'm like gosh this there's like no way this is like a real dude. And like my buddy's like dude
100:05that's David and Jooku. And I was like oh yeah. Just shout it out and talk to him and stuff. Uh yeah. And like so they
100:10didn't get out though. They didn't get out. So anytime like injoku messes something up, my buddy's like, "We knew it then." Like if he has like a false
100:18like drop, he's like, "Dude, couldn't get out of the escape room." They didn't got escape room like >> I bet Harold Phantom would get out of
100:29the escape room.
100:30>> Yeah, I see. I I agree. I think he would.
100:32>> But no, shout out to Jo. Like that dude is like literally on fire. He set himself on fire last year. Like played
100:37like he was super happy he didn't get traded. He's like the first player that was ever happy not to get traded out of
100:41Cleveland. Like >> I know it was interesting. He was like psyched not to get traded.
100:45>> I mean that tells you something about their culture, right? That's better culture.
100:49>> I mean >> than the guy who's like literally like I can't believe I wasn't traded. This is ruining my life.
100:53>> I try to sell people out. It's actually a pretty decent place to live. Uh it's super cheap.
100:58>> Okay.
100:58>> So [laughter] >> well that shouldn't be why joke. I mean Joker has been paid pretty well actually.
101:03>> Yeah. Pretty good. Well, maybe he's just fiscally responsible, [laughter] >> you know, but he couldn't get an escape room, so maybe not. Maybe that doesn't
101:13track. [laughter] We got a lot of layers, a lot of things to a lot of things to >> to unpack [clears throat] here.
101:20>> Yeah. [laughter] Yeah. Who's to say? Um, all right. Let's move to >> the next game here. I mean, we we didn't
101:28really talk about the Jets passing game, but I just don't I think the answer is the answer is no.
101:32>> Yeah. Listen, if you have Bree Hall and Garrett Wilson, you're probably playing season.
101:36>> You're probably starting him. You're probably starting him.
101:39>> You hope for the best.
101:40>> And I have him ranked like reasonably normally. Like I have Wilson as I have him tiered as a wide receiver, too, but
101:46I have him wide receiver 13 in the ranks, which I wish I wish he could be lower, but there's guys one by. Um
101:52>> yeah, it is a tougher receiver week this week.
101:55>> I have a running back, too, and he's he's running back 14, so kind of similar. Uh you're probably boxed in to
102:02playing them. Yeah, but I mean there's not a lot of ceiling here, I don't think.
102:06>> No, the ceiling is just not >> based on the based on the quarterback.
102:10>> Speaking of a lack of ceiling, we have a Davis Mills offense up next. Do you want to try to sell me on this this naked
102:17Davis?
102:17>> Well, yeah. My thing was he's 40. He's mpriced and uh the Jaguars are a little bit uh of a pass funnel because they're
102:24pretty good against the run and they have a lot of top 10 quarterback in four straight games and one of them was Gino
102:29Smith who I swear to God has been one of the worst quarterbacks I've watched this year play um and was again
102:35>> I just watched all that and in prime vision they should have stopped the prime vision on the Raiders like this is
102:45>> this is dirty not allowed to [laughter] >> listen Bo Nicks was certified ly bad too, but Gito Smith was like I couldn't
102:52like So that's it. I ran on the case of like >> I I when I saw Picket warming up I was
102:57like do it.
102:58>> I want I want to see Kenny Picket. And I've been I'm probably one of the biggest Kenny Picket haters out there.
103:04>> I was I literally when I saw him I was like yes I want Picket. give me.
103:08>> But the the Jaguars have tanked defensively uh over the they're 28th in EPA over the past month as a defense
103:16because they're not getting all those turnovers they got to open the year. Uh since week five they have the lowest sack rate in the NFL. Like they're not
103:23getting nearly the pressure they were early in the season.
103:25>> Um so just yeah bad bad pass defense that's pretty good against the run minric quarterback allows me to get Rico
103:32Dael Puka Christian McCaffrey all in one lineup. That was my only sell was like I you just need him to beat his salary. So
103:38like if he got 16 fantasy points, you'd be like this makes my lineup a lot better. Uh which I think he's capable of
103:44in this matchup getting like 16 fantasy points. But I do like the the the adjacent McCarthy shot as well for the
103:49same purposes.
103:51>> Yeah. And and I actually do think that, you know, if you're if you're like, "Hey, let me get 16 fantasy points that
103:57that makes, you know, things go for me in the lineup." I'm hoping that he kind of like is Spencer Rattlery, you know,
104:06um this year, which I mean as a compliment in this case where it's like the wheels aren't falling off. Um even
104:12if he's not good, I I do feel obligated to mention uh Nugget from the walkthrough. Among quarterbacks with 500 500 plus plays since 2021, which when he
104:22came into the league, >> only Zach Wilson, Deshawn Watson, and Will Levis rank worse in success rate.
104:30only uh Zack Wilson, Deshun Watson, Spencer Rattler, Will Levvice, Sam Howell, and Bryce Young, which is not a great sign for Bryce Young, ranked worse
104:38in EPA per game. Here's the chart with him here.
104:41>> Um you you see [laughter] Cooper Rush here. Anthony Richardson is above him in both success rate and EPA per game.
104:48>> Do you remember two years ago when Straoud missed uh they did even let Davis Mills play? They played Case Keum.
104:53>> I forgot that. God, you >> remember? Yeah. Do you remember that happened?
104:58It's I mean is look at Zach Wilson down here alone. Um >> it's it's this is rough man. This is like there's there's some backup
105:07quarterbacks we got going this week.
105:08>> Um I >> 2025 Gino Smith through four touchdowns against the Jaguars.
105:15>> Yeah. No, >> maybe it was just Brock Bowers and not Gino Smith. Maybe it was actually Brock Powers.
105:20>> It was just Brock Powers.
105:21>> You do have Nico Collins back here. Um, so yeah, I mean, and the Jags, the Jags really have been a pass funnel, as you
105:28mentioned, with the with the good run defense. Um, we saw 71% pass rate from the Raiders against >> never gets as fun as potentially Ravens.
105:36Uh, >> never can.
105:38>> No, this this to me is more um more Saints Panthers or something like it's it's, you know, you're like hoping for a
105:47piece or two to to do something. Um the the other problem that I do have with this game, even from the Mills side, is
105:56that Lawrence could melt down here in a really big way.
106:00>> Oh god. Yeah.
106:02>> And and you have the Texans pass defense first in DVOA, first in EPA, second in success rate against the pass. And you
106:10know, Lawrence, it looked like, okay, maybe maybe this off maybe this offensive line is pretty solid.
106:17No, they just had a really easy schedule to start. It's not terrible, but you know, they can you can definitely definitely pressure Lawrence. Um,
106:27>> and his he's just been bad this year, man. That's the biggest thing. Like quarterback 25 in EPA per game and
106:32quarterback 32 in success rate and now gets the number one defense in DVO and EPA. Like >> it's just it's just rough. Um, they're
106:40also probably without their left guard here. Uh, he's been backto-back DMP. Uh, you've got multiple pass rushers like this. Like Rankkins has been solid. Uh,
106:50Will Anderson's awesome. Denil Hunter's awesome. So, it's just a really, really tough matchup. They'll probably try to pivot to the run here. Um, the run
106:59defense isn't as good for the Texans.
107:01It's it's more middling. Um, it's not bad, but it's, you know, it's not fearsome the way the pass defense is.
107:07And so, ETN's, I think, kind of interesting here. But this this game really like last night's game might kind of feel like this like it's like that
107:16sloggy >> where there's like 10 minutes left in the third quarter and it feels like next field goal wins.
107:21>> Well, that the first the first time these teams played it was like that.
107:25>> Yeah. And I I I mean this is just I don't know. I don't I don't have much faith in Lawrence. And by the way, I
107:32mean, Hunter and Thomas are out and you got Jacobe Myers on a short week and you got like Deami Brown, Parker Washington
107:37is probably the the guys running the most routes. Like, it's just even even Brett Strange being out is is a problem.
107:43Um >> Yeah, it's all bad.
107:45>> It's all bad. So, this game environment is just >> all bad.
107:48>> Yeah, it seems terrible.
107:52>> Yeah. and and you know like your season long stuff you're still playing Nico.
107:55But I couldn't even like talk myself into doing like a Nico stack because like he's not offering like any real ceiling and he's not his price hasn't
108:04like super adjusted. It's gone down a little bit but it's not to the point >> pretty expensive.
108:08>> Yeah. It's not to the point where like I there's he's still priced in a zone where I'm like well I just rather play
108:13these other guys if I'm paying like this in this ballpark for like I'd rather play Jaylen Wadd than Nico Collins pretty wholeheartedly. Um,
108:21>> the one piece that I do kind of like is ETN, but I should say that's from the perspective of I'm normally lower than
108:29consensus on ETN because I, you know, he's so dependent on the breakaway yards, success rate's poor and and I like Bashalt Tutin and want to see him
108:37get more run. But coming out of the buy, Tutin was just 25% of snaps. Kind of same old same old there.
108:42>> Um, ETN had a 52% carry share. He got the he pilered that goal line touch which has been a problem sometimes for
108:49ETN is um because >> they're kind of rotating him around.
108:52>> He hasn't scored on the ground since week four.
108:56>> Um and his touchdowns this season rushing touchdowns are from 10 and 48 yards and the one of them the Texans
109:02allowed him to score in the first game.
109:04>> Oh, right.
109:06>> They let him score to get the ball back.
109:08Uh so yeah, it's just it's a you're right. It's just a tough spot. uh season long stuff you're playing probably most
109:14of these regular dudes like even Daltton Schultz is like streamable in this game if you had like a Jake Ferguson >> uh on by
109:20>> I don't want to play him with DFS Kelsey. No, no, no. Like I said, I would my >> salary he he's I would say like it would
109:27it's it's fine, but I just I don't think I'm doing it.
109:30>> No. Uh yeah, I'd agree. I'd rather like Joan Johnson. Um >> me too.
109:34>> Yeah. Than than than at that in that price range than there. So most of these guys you're probably sticking with. Uh,
109:40I'd still be concerned about Parker Washington here. I know like if you're going people are going back to I mean he
109:44had 11 targets in the first time these teams played and only had four catches for 34 yards. Like this is just a too
109:51good of a defense, man.
109:53>> So, you mentioned the Davis Mills thing.
109:58What about Chuck? He's 4,300 too.
110:02>> I I have no faith in him getting 16 points, though. [laughter] >> Okay. But see the So the thing is is
110:09none of those guy none of those teams allowed four passing touchdowns to 2025 Gino Smith.
110:14>> That's okay. All right. Fair. [laughter] That's very fair.
110:22Yeah.
110:24God. Mills. I I'm just I'm just like Mills. I get >> Oh, you're not wrong. You're not wrong about it either.
110:30>> Yeah.
110:32>> Um and Chuck could be anything. Even slightly better than Davis Mills.
110:36Could be a boat.
110:38>> I don't think he is a boat.
110:43>> Um, all right.
110:43>> But it is it's just one of these games.
110:44Yeah. It's not It's just not flattering.
110:46>> No, I'm almost shocked that's not in the in the late window. Like they normally make us sit through it.
110:52>> Yeah. Yeah. [snorts] Um >> Well, they gave us they put the Jaguars in the late window last week and they're
110:58like, "We can't do it two weeks in a row."
110:59>> Yeah. I'm really happy that it's the seventh seventh game on the early slate.
111:03We can just ignore it. Uh, Cardinals and Seahawks, another game with a with a terrifying defense and sort of a backup
111:14quarterback, maybe now the starter. Um, certainly the starter for the next four weeks and maybe going forward. Um, but one where I'm a little less
111:22concerned, um, Jacobe Brassette, I think like I'm looking at his numbers, he's got the same career efficiency, um, as Daniel Jones basically in terms of EPA
111:33per game. Um, you know, he he's been okay. He's not been great, you know, but he's been solid to where you could you could see
111:44him doing what he's done so far for the rest of the year. He's 61st percentile, 49th, and 69th in EPA per play in his
111:51three games this year. And this is a really tough matchup, but you're like hoping that the wheels don't fall off.
111:56Um, you don't need him to be to be great. like just just keep the Cardinals semifunctional [snorts] here and then all of a sudden the
112:04Seahawks side becomes more interesting because the Seahawks the passing side is is quite intriguing.
112:12Squirrel Patrol mentioned Sam Darnold as one of his plays this week and >> I'm kind of into it because um it's it's
112:19not someone who was really on my radar from a DFS perspective, but I I think it's a really interesting call. You're
112:24looking at a a really banged up Cardinals defense. Um they're going to be out uh Will Johnson and Max Melton.
112:32Um >> Will Johnson didn't play in the first game either.
112:35>> Oh, interesting. Yeah. Uh Melton's in the concussion protocol.
112:39Johnson uh limited with a back injury on Wednesday and then downgraded to be DNP on Thursday. So uncertain um if these
112:46guys are actually out, but it looks like they probably will be. Uh Cardinals have not been good at protecting the splash
112:52zone and JSN leads all wide receivers in splash zone target rate. And I was just noting in the walkthrough like this is I
112:59mean you want a guy to like be consistently hitting four plus yards per out run week after week. Like this is a
113:04big part of it. It's a big part of what Tyreek Hill was doing where you get the ball uh over the deep middle of the
113:09field and and you're getting a ton of yak. He's got 4.41 yards per route run this year and it's week 10. It's it's
113:16really crazy.
113:16>> He's the most through since we've we have the data at this point of a season.
113:20He's number one.
113:22>> Yeah. Yeah.
113:23>> The only player that's even come close to four yards per out run is 2023 Tyreek.
113:28>> Tyreek 3.72 including the playoffs right here.
113:31>> Yeah. He averages uh 6.4 yards per out run on play action. He averages 4.1 yards on pre-nap motion. And even if you
113:39remove all the pre- snap motion and all the play action, he averages 4.9 yards per out run without any of the stuff.
113:45>> Uh the base rate for wide receivers, >> the base rate for wide receivers on that is 1.3 yards per out run.
113:52Um, so like that's crazy. I mean is to be fair though, this was the one matchup that kind of gave them trouble and this
113:59is so that's what I find interesting about the Darnold stuff. So like Darnold's been like pretty clearcut like when he's going to be good and bad or
114:05like for fantasy football uh since these teams last met. I mean his spike weeks have come against uh the Buccaneers, the
114:13Jaguars, and the Commanders. All teams that struggle against play action passing and did come into that matchup.
114:18I've got receipts on all of these worksheet mit writeups uh for this. The Cardinals are actually the opposite of this. Uh on play action passes, they're
114:27second in the NFL in completion rate allowed. They're fourth in yards for pass attempt. When these teams met in week four, Darnold was two of seven on
114:33play action passes. Uh on throws 10 or more yards downfield, the Arizona Cardinals are fifth in completion rate.
114:40They've allowed a 1% touchdown rate. The league by far the lowest in the NFL. So, I'm very curious because they get
114:46usually Darnold spots have like been pretty clear-cut. Like all his spike weeks come in very obvious matchups and this really isn't one. Um, and it's a
114:54and it's a divisional rematch. Jonathan Ganon's whole gambit is to not give up big plays. It's like his whole like antithesis of like all defensive
115:03philosophy.
115:04>> So, that's why I don't think it structurally fits like where Darnold typically looks like. U So, that's what's interesting. That's why I think
115:10that that >> Cardinal have the lowest play action rate run against them actually. Um >> because you can't they just play shell.
115:17They just play coverage.
115:20This is like what >> That's a really interesting note.
115:22>> Yeah, it's all Jonathan Ganon does, man.
115:26Well, now I'm now I'm less interested in the passing game and and it's always it's fragile because I mean JSN's obviously a smash, but um you know,
115:34Darnold and it's like >> you need the you need the Cardinals to be able to push back a little bit here.
115:41And then even if they do push back, the Seahawks are kind of playing a different brand of football than everybody else.
115:46They're just running the ball, man.
115:47They're running the ball non-stop. They have a 53% pass rate, >> 3% lower than the second place Lions at 56%.
115:54>> Um They're second in the league in success rate passing and 25th in success rate rushing.
116:01>> It's It's really crazy. I mean, but you know, it is kind of working.
116:05>> Yeah. Weird.
116:06>> Well, they're not going to break tendency because because it is working like >> Yeah.
116:10>> But we've seen it though uh a couple weeks ago like when they faced the Texans like a capable defense like you
116:17know that's where it doesn't spike and doesn't necessarily hit. When they faced the Cardinals it didn't hit. uh when they face the 49ers uh you know so it's
116:26like well now when they probably rematch 49ers it'll be different but with the healthy version >> they have no guys left but
116:36>> so I'm a little more interested because like I I've like pretty felt like I've been pretty on like just calling Darnold
116:40out like this is clear-cut like smash Darnold like this is a trust week for him this week I was a little more like
116:46ah I kind of would rather use him as a QB2 >> okay >> but I mean you know if he can hit the
116:52wild card here will be the Brassette stuff, right? Because I just don't know how much success they'll have.
116:58>> Yeah. And it's it's tough because I I think the Seahawks defense is for real.
117:01>> Yeah, it is.
117:02>> And I think the versette like if you look at him this year, he looks like a little bit I don't know if I'd call him like a
117:10negative aggression candidate from what like like his success rate and and efficiency are kind of aligned. Like it's not like he's like doing stuff
117:18where you're like, man, he's really inconsistent and hitting big plays and that's going to regress, but but I do think he's a little bit of a negative
117:24aggression candidate from the perspective of his career numbers are not as good as what he's done over the last three weeks. And this is a player
117:31we kind of know who he is to some degree. So >> remember when Andy Dalton took over last year for a stretch and people were like,
117:36"Yes, this is exciting." And then it was like after four weeks of Andy Dton, you're like, "I don't know, man."
117:41>> Or like a couple games of Mariota and you're like, "Oh yeah, he runs. Like he's kind of fun." and then it stops
117:45being fun. It It feels like that is probably the most likely scenario.
117:50>> On the other hand, like he's executing the offense, they have weapons.
117:54>> Yeah. No. Yeah. It's It's probably going to be bad. But I kind of I kind of came away I wrote this up where I was like,
118:01>> I'm assuming I'm going to, you know, my initial look into this, I'm like, this is is bad for Brassette. And then I kind
118:07of the more I dug into it, I was like, I don't think this is that bad for him.
118:11It's definitely scary and the floor is really low, but I'm not sure like the most likely scenario is he just craters.
118:20I think the most likely scenario is he struggles compared to where he's been.
118:23>> Yeah, we would be probably more scared that Kyler implodes.
118:26>> Yeah, I honestly would be. I would be.
118:29Yeah, I think I think Br will be like, okay, can he sure they don't win the game and he doesn't look great, but like
118:35can they score like 17 points and get either Harrison or McBride a touchdown?
118:39Like, yeah, I think he can. That's that's kind of what I'm expecting. I don't know that that's enough to push Seattle. They're so committed to the
118:46run. You need you need efficiency on the Seattle side. So, the play action notes are really interesting because if the efficiency is down now, Darnold did have
118:54a 91st percentile mark in EP play against the Cardinals. The >> Yeah, he had a high Yard uh yards per pass attempt still.
119:02>> Yeah. So, he was still he was >> it was like we talked about like with Lamar like uh you know the splash plays,
119:07they still hit a few. remember that he got the ball back and he hit the the JSN. That was the game. JSN had no
119:12targets at halftime >> in that game, >> right? Yeah.
119:15>> He had he had like three runs and no targets. What is happening?
119:19>> What is going on here?
119:21>> And then uh >> and he finished fine, right?
119:23>> And he had he said 80 yards in the second half.
119:26>> Okay.
119:26>> They I think he finished with 70. It was the only game where he had didn't have he has 96 or more yards in every game
119:30but this one, but then literally had had 79 in one half. Uh, I think he only had six targets the whole game because he
119:37had zero at halftime, but then they they found a way to get the football. Also, the addition of Rasheed Shahed is
119:43probably a pretty big plus for Jackson with Jigba. Um, I think so.
119:49>> I compared sort of, you know, it's like not a perfect comp, but um, I was just noting Tyreek Kill's efficiency. You
119:57know, this is like the last time we've seen anything close to this. And we're seeing that that same splash zone usage.
120:03Now JSN's a little bit of a different player than Hill obviously, but I was like Shahed maybe his waddle. Is that is
120:09that where we're headed? Where he's, you know, also getting some of these same types of targets because Shahed's route tree is not just like nines. He actually
120:16runs >> the real routes now. So >> he's a good receiver, like a good actual wide receiver.
120:20>> He's a real receiver. So it it could be like Hill was just fine with Wadd, you know, kind of playing Robin. Um I don't
120:28think it's the worst thing. I mean, honestly, would be an awesome thing if they just passed more. Like, if this gave them confidence to pass more, like,
120:36hey, your you know what, your passing game is like kind of unstoppable now, now that Jahed's up to speed and, you
120:41know, he he's also producing really efficiently. Like, could you maybe pass it >> or at least pick a running back?
120:51>> I'm not I'm not mad. Don't put it in the paper. I'm mad.
120:53>> Yeah, but I think it's going to be a pro for uh JSN big picture. And granted, yes, he's going to share some targets in
121:01area yards. Like he's cuz he's got a player that's going to command areas.
121:05Like he had 52. He's got 52%. Like he can give away some like [laughter] >> Yeah.
121:13You know, it's a it's a he >> Are you suggesting target share philanthropy?
121:20>> Needs a give back to his >> Yeah. He's a give back.
121:24>> Give back.
121:24>> He's donating to AJ Barner. And although the Cardinals haven't given up like a ton of big plays, they haven't been
121:30unbeatable like in terms of giving up yardage. Like they gave up 100 yards to Calvin Ridley. They gave up 100 yards to
121:36Ricky Pieraw. They gave 100 yards to to Tener McMillan. So like Yeah.
121:43>> Yep.
121:44>> I'm more confident in the Seattle side than in the Arizona side, but uh that's >> I'm confident in them to to score points
121:51for sure. I just >> just that's more respect for the Seattle defense. But I do think that the floor is actually higher with Brassette than
121:59like scoring zero. Uh just because of functionally what that he allows him to do, play under center, the play action game. Um and Mike McDonald typically has
122:08not cared about letting Trey McBride do his thing. And I kind of respect it like you know because like McBride's one of
122:16these guys like you can let catch a bunch of passes but he needs like a lot of targets to go nuts. And like it's
122:22kind of like almost like like letting a running back go off a little bit in a sense. You're like we don't give up a
122:27bunch of eight yard catches to Trey McBride, but I'm not gonna give up a big play to someone else because in these
122:32games against Mike McDonald, it's Mike McDonald's defense. He has 14 targets, 15 targets, 14 targets, and 11 targets.
122:39And Mike McDonald's won all those games.
122:42He's like, you know, cool, man. Like, and this is the difference. I think McBride and like a big picture like dynasty stance versus like Bowers is
122:50like Bowowers is a dude that like put real crooked numbers up like on a low volume whereas like it's still like
122:55McBride >> has more of that Tucker craft where like you give them the ball and it's like oh actually I shouldn't be letting this guy
123:02get get targeted underneath because he's running 40 yards downfield now.
123:05>> Correct.
123:06>> You know, >> but I think some defenses like choose lesser evils. They're like, you know what, like Yeah, man. Like I'm not going
123:11to devote a bunch of resources to a guy that's going to catch a bunch of eight yard passes. Like it's why Jake Ferguson
123:16was catching all those passes early in the season. The Cowboys teams were like, you know what, he's getting six and a
123:20half yards for catch, man. Like what?
123:21Like what do you want us to do about that? Like we're trying to stop George Pickkins, man. And like granted, like
123:26Arizona doesn't have like a super dude.
123:28Like Marvin Harrison hasn't gone into that stratosphere yet, but like I'm just saying the way Mike McDonald has typically played these games is that
123:33like he's kind of let McBride do his thing. Like >> how the Cardinals not trade for Rasheed Jahed? They need him so bad.
123:41>> I mean, I there's a lot of teams like that. You're like, why wasn't the fit for this if this was the asking price,
123:46right?
123:46>> Right. The Patriots could have used him, >> but I would be nervous going back to Marv here. But McBride I'm in on like
123:52you do the stuff with McBride.
123:53>> McBride, McBride really separates from the rest of the tight ends on the slate.
123:56>> Absolutely. Plus, because he's the dude that's gotten the bump from Brassette because of the play action stuff. So even pre- buret change, he he was
124:05leading all tight ends in target share and play action passes. The problem was the Cardinals weren't running a lot of play action because their quarterback
124:12couldn't take snaps under center because he cannot see over scrimmage.
124:17>> He could see Rich if he just [laughter] sat on Bryce Young's shoulders.
124:22>> Yes. But now that they're running a lot more play action, this is where it's kind of like, you know, manifest. So he
124:30I mean he he's they're they're running he's like now he has a a 35% target share on play action passes number one
124:37in the NFL and they're running more play action so like >> you know so ma it matters more and then you're putting the the marriage together
124:44so I think he's good still >> just respect for the Seattle outside defense uh Marv I think season long you're good he had a touchdown against
124:52them in the first game >> I think you're good too >> yeah you're I mean I'm playing him still there but like I'm not chasing the
124:56Cowboys run out is basically all I'm for sure. Although I do think like it's one of those things where you know Caleb
125:04Williams spiking against the Cowboys, it's like yeah, it's the Cowboys. It's still nice to see if you the Cowboys that's bad, you know. So it's it's nice
125:12to see that's in there.
125:14>> Um it's been a tough start to the career for for Marvin Harrison and him to get that kind of mini breakout
125:19>> was really nice. Um so yeah, I like him in season long too.
125:23>> Yeah.
125:24>> Uh Trey McBride. Yeah. I mean he's someone I'll be playing in DFS. it just like, you know, could could lap the
125:30field and could not only lap the field, but like we talked about how hard it's going to be to find like the right
125:35pieces. So, you got like, you know, good lineup, zero at tight end type of situation and potentially a guy that you
125:41didn't pay nothing for. You know, you didn't you didn't punt with Greg Doulich. You you wasted like 4,300 bucks and uh and with 6,000 I lapped you with
125:50Trey McBride. That seems pretty plausible.
125:53>> Kenneth Walker saw his usage spike um last week. I I know Ben wrote that one up as as pretty interesting. Um that he
126:02was, you know, his snaps were up and >> it wasn't the snaps, it was they finally gave him some touches near the end.
126:08>> Some touches. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Green zone touches as well. Um but yeah, 57% of snaps. Sharp was down to 35%.
126:16I noted that unfortunately he did have minus 15 rush yards over expected and a 30% success rate, which is both horrible
126:24numbers.
126:24>> The same same story as always. kind of like he he sort of flopped, you know, like if this was an audition, if he's
126:30installed, great. If this was an audition, I think they might call Zack Sharpet in for for an audition this week. So, uh,
126:41>> and they ran push with AJ Barer. That better not be a thing. [laughter] >> The last thing we want.
126:50>> Yeah, it really is. I mean, it's it's tough, man. I I still think this could easily be a split, but but
126:58what if it's Walker's backfield, I guess.
127:02>> Yeah. I mean, he's one of only three running backs had over 100 total yards against the Cardinals this year. The
127:07other two are Christian McCaffrey and Jonathan Taylor. Um he he had a pretty good game against them the first game.
127:12If we can just we just needed the high value touches is all that's been missing from him because we know what kind of
127:16runner he is >> and they are still running the ball.
127:19It's just he went a span from the week Charburnet Mitt uh came back was week three to up until last week he had no
127:27touches inside the five, no touches inside the 10.
127:30>> So like we need those like because no one's catching passes out of his back field. They're not throwing running backs. So like they're the only Walker's
127:39thing anyway, >> right? The only high value touches we get are the scoring opportunities and they were all going to Charbanet. Um, so
127:45we just need those and those are tough to guess until it becomes like a consistent trend. It could, like you said, it could have been a one-off.
127:52>> It's hard to say, right? Like, but it was out of the buy. So, you're like kind of like, "All right,
127:56>> I think it was real." Like, I think they were like like I think it was a it was a signal in sense that they were like,
128:00"Hey, let's let's put more on on Kenneth Walker's plate." I do also think they're signaling that he like sucked, you know? It's like, hey, you know what?
128:12I looking at the tape, I think we should give Kenneth Walkmore a run. Then you do and you're like, o, you know, that could
128:18that could change your usage the following week.
128:22>> Yeah, >> but it also could be that, you know, Sharpet has been, you know, I've been negative about Walker, but Charbanet is
128:28running back 42 in rush yards expected per game. He has a 43% success rate, which is running back 14. That's quite a
128:35bit better than Walker's at 38%, running back 35. But Walker is running back 15 in breakaway yards per game. He breaks a
128:42lot more tackles, can actually hit long runs. So, it's like >> I if I were the Seahawks, I'd be like, "Hey, we've got two options. We can
128:50basically like have a fullback who never has any explosiveness, but will like pick up, you know, the yards we expect most of the time. And we have this other
129:00guy, super boom bust, but will hit long runs. Let's just like take, you know, eat our vegetables with the or just like
129:06take our lumps, I guess, is really what it is. Cuz these aren't vegetables.
129:10They're not good for you." But but take our lumps with Kenneth Walker with the negative runs because he's gonna pop some and we're built to run the ball.
129:17We're gonna run the ball all day. So eventually we're gonna get those long runs and then for short yardage and goal
129:22line, let's put in Zack. Like this seems like that should be easy enough, but it I don't know. They that's not how
129:28they're playing it. If if any now they're starting to give Walker some of the goal line stuff, which is good for
129:32us if we're playing Walker, but I don't really understand the usage.
129:36>> No, it's been tough. Sharon has two runs of 10 or more yards on 80 carries this year.
129:42>> Wait, wait, say that again.
129:43>> His two runs of 10 or more yards on 80 rushes.
129:46>> God, that hurt my head.
129:51>> Yeah, it's not great.
129:52>> I'm like instantly feel hung over.
129:56>> I mean, the the Seock should feel hung over. Like >> outside of him falling into the end.
130:03>> Yeah, >> maybe they're not thinking straight.
130:06>> Yeah, that's it. Yeah, that's what's going on.
130:08>> Walker just comes in and like turns on the lights like, "Get out of here. God, God."
130:12>> Yeah. And this is a spot I'm not going to chase really much from Monday night's rotation with the Arizona backfield
130:17either. So, >> yeah, >> it's tough. They were kind of alternating drives uh for a while. De Marcado had >> looked okay.
130:28>> He looked he looked fine again like he ran he had a little run out against the Cowboys. Like, are we going to expect
130:33him to run on the Seahawks here? like this has largely been a team that's been bad at running all year >> against no matter who the running back
130:40is. Before James Connor got hurt, James Connor was bad.
130:43>> Uh and then we only had one sample with Trey Benson. Then it's been kind of these whack-a-ole dudes, but they've
130:49been pretty consistently bad all year.
130:50And they're on the road against a defense that is second in the league in rushing yards per game to running backs.
130:55They're ninth in yards allowed before contact, second yards per carry. Like >> first in EPA, second in.
131:01>> It's hard to It's hard to like talk yourself into doing this. This is a Denver level defense. Like >> they're just really good and they're at
131:08home. Like Seattle at home. Like their one bad game at home was the game they were missing all the dudes against big
131:13the the Bucks game that got hot.
131:16>> Um they were just and they were missing four starters.
131:20>> It's more of a Ben Denver style defense than level. I think Denver's better, but that it's like you can't run on them and
131:27you can't pass on them. It's it's a very difficult matchup. Um, yeah, I don't have much interest in the Cowboys runners or the uh the uh the Cardinals
131:35runners. They're both basically like like running back three types. Um, running back fours even. Yeah, I've got them I've got them both ranked as
131:43running back fours this week.
131:44>> Yeah, the only proc case I think you could go back to for Walker is if like you do luck box into those like high
131:49value touches being static here and they they work out is that this would be a week like those mid-rangy guys like it's
131:56there's not a lot of allure, right? And like we know someone's going to have a good game from there. So maybe you get
132:01lucky in a Tim. But >> it's definitely a step of faith though.
132:05Like absolutely.
132:07>> Let's go. Lions commanders. Um yeah, this is uh this is one I would actually put this in the could be fun.
132:17Fragile but could be fun group where if we have the teams push each other. Um this could be good or or maybe we don't
132:24even need the commanders to push too much.
132:27But um but if they just like don't roll over, which they did last week, but hopefully they don't do again. Um then
132:35we could have the Lions be pretty fun here. And we we have Jared Goff, I think, in a pretty good matchup.
132:40>> Oh, yeah.
132:41>> Um the Commanders defense has been has been very poor and it's it's also banged up. You got um safety Will Harris and
132:49quarterback Marshon Latimore and IR. Uh Quan Martin, another safety was a DMP with the hamstring on Wednesday, limited on Thursday. Okay, we'll see. Uh I'm
132:57assuming he probably goes, but with a hammy, you never know. Uh Trey Amos is banged up. He'll play, but this is a
133:04kind of, you know, a little bit of a diminished secondary and one that's been very bad. They're 31st in coverage grade
133:10and they're allowing explosive passes at the highest rate in the league. Um we are getting the narrative stuff with uh with Jameson Williams. You know, we got
133:18to get Jameson going. Do you want to get Jameson going? Like maybe call plays where he's the first read. Just a
133:23thought. Uh they don't seem to be doing that.
133:25>> Uh Pen Sul uh was back at practice. He looks like he's gonna play Taylor Decker and him were both >> uh DNP limited. Obviously those are the
133:35two tackles you want them to be playing if you're if you're betting on the Lions. They will be down their left
133:39guard Christian Mahogany. Um and that's a that's a downgrade down to down to his backup. So as long as those tackles go
133:46though, I think the Lions are set up for a nice bounce back here against a pretty weak defense.
133:52>> Yeah, 100%. I mean, this is this should be uh Alliance smash spot. I know we didn't get the wagon status last week,
133:58but it feels very much waggy this week.
134:01This defense is just down so bad. Dorren Armstrong was put on IR2 two weeks ago for the Commanders. The past four weeks,
134:07they're 30th in defensive success rate.
134:09They're 31st in points allowed per drive. And they're another one of these teams that just really schematically struggle with where the Lions like to
134:16operate, right? Like it's uh well, first of all, like even last week kept clean.
134:21Jared G was 18 to 24, 212 yards, 8.8 yards per pass, two touchdowns. For the season when he's kept clean, he has 17
134:28touchdowns, one interception, 8.6 yards or pass attempt. He uh 83% completion rate. And over the past five weeks, the Commanders have fallen to five uh 21st
134:39in pressure rate. They're just ravaged by injuries. Uh G runs a ton of play action. Uh he on play action, he's fifth
134:47in completion rate, third in yards for pass. That's where the Commanders just absolutely get bludgeoned is the play action pass. They also uh allow 18
134:55passing points per game which is only better than the Cowboys. Uh they've allowed QB1 scoring weeks to to Kale Williams, Sam Darnold, Mahomes, and Dak
135:02Presc which is a pretty good rogues gallery of dudes they face. But spike weeks to all of them.
135:07>> Um and the Lions are another one of these teams that are just like really better throwing the football right now.
135:13They are right now 31st.
135:14>> Tell that to John Morton, please.
135:16>> 31st in success rate running the ball.
135:18The Detroit Lions compared to eighth in success rate. They have a bunch of interior line injuries. Chris Mahogany is not going to play in this game. Dan
135:25Campbell say he's going to basically miss till December. Um >> yeah.
135:29>> So, >> and Decker Decker was DNP DNP >> with a shoulder. So, he's probably out.
135:36Um Su [clears throat] is full practice. So, that's that's nice.
135:40And I think off the injury report now, so that's that's pretty sweet. But I am more confident in them passing the ball
135:46here than I am them just outright like running the ball.
135:50>> Darasel, by the way, was also full practice today. So nice. Uh yeah, that's that's big for the Vikings. Yeah, I
135:57think um I guess my my concern I have more confidence in their ability to throw the ball like by a lot.
136:03>> I don't have confidence in their understanding that the passing game is the engine of the offense.
136:09>> Agreed.
136:10>> They have a 56% pass rate, second lowest in the league. They haven't had a positive pass rate we're expected in a
136:15single game this year. This really feels like a big difference to me compared to where Ben Johnson was. Like you could
136:20push the Lions and last year and the year before like they would they would flip a switch and they would pass all
136:27over you. Like they would they'd be like, "All right, we're a negative script. This is kind of a like a shootout type of type of game or or we
136:33need a comeback here. We're not going to win this game unless we start passing."
136:37and they would pass aggressively and effectively and they would win games.
136:40Like they were they've been I've really been rooting for them basically the entire Dan Campbell era. I just think they're really fun. But this is starting
136:47to lose faith a little bit with the John Morton Lions that that they play to win.
136:51I I love, you know, the run heaviness works if you're going to if you're in spots where you got to throw, you throw.
136:57I love that. Um but they're not really doing that so much. Now, this isn't one of those games. They're just going to be
137:03able to play from ahead here, you'd think. But >> Mhm. I still don't, you know, the weak spot of the defense is the passing game.
137:11So, it would make a ton of sense like this kind of like, you know, like the the elevated run first team, you know,
137:20that I thought we had. I think this is just like an old school run first team.
137:23Like, we run the ball. That's who we are. This is our identity. We're going to we're going to bang our heads against
137:28the wall if that's if that's what we have to do. But, we're going to run the ball. I expect them to have a negative
137:33passive expected. I know I'm going out on a limb given that we've we're looking at eight of those so far >> in a by-week. Um so yeah, but I mean
137:41it's just it's a little frustrating where you know if they if they were to attack through the air here, they could
137:46just they could kind of nuke this game, score 35, go home. Like you could you can run all you want in the fourth
137:52quarter after you if you finish putting up all the points, but I I don't really trust them to do that uh under Morton.
137:58>> Yeah, they did lose to the Commanders in the playoffs last year. I don't know if Dan Campbell >> holds anything here.
138:05>> I like that angle >> of maybe trying to They lost last week plus lost to the creators. This is the
138:10team that stopped them from going to the Super Bowl. Maybe we can get some motivation.
138:15>> I would really love how they handle this.
138:18>> I'm manufacturing that myself internally.
138:20>> Uh >> you're firing me up though. And I think I can feel like I'm I'm like putting myself in the Lions meeting room and
138:30hearing Dan Camp. Dan Campbell's fired up. His fa his nose is like even redder.
138:35You know, he's had an extra cup of coffee after what's his normal six. I mean, you just never see what happened
138:40to them last week where you had Brian Flores repeatedly doing the same thing over and over and just wrecking Jir Gibbs and like them not calibrating in
138:48game and then Dan Campbell coming out uh at the front of the week and being like, "Yeah, we messed up by not like fixing
138:56that in game." Like, and we're just not used to that. We're always used to the Lions like adjusting, like you said,
139:01adjusting to the game.
139:02>> Yeah.
139:03>> Like, and like that like we >> not really doing that as much this year.
139:06remember it. We started the season that way against the Packers. Like it's like where we've kind of been all year.
139:12>> Yeah.
139:13>> Yeah. They've always been a team of adjustments and like >> Yeah, we've just been missing that aspect this year. Now again, like they
139:21might not have to counter punch at all this game. It could just be what they want to do works. Uh [snorts] because
139:26the Commanders are just swirling the heart of darkness right now. They've lost by over 20 points three games in a row. Like they're like this team is like
139:34they're out of players. The vibes are all time bad. Their quarterback's out again. Terry McLaren's not playing.
139:41Like, it's just terrible. Like, it's the it's the vibes. The vibes are not good.
139:45>> The vibes are not good. And you have to think about incentives, right?
139:50Motivation of these coaches. What are you playing for? You know, it we'd love if they all these guys were like trying
139:56to maximize win probability in every second of a game, but they just aren't, right? like you're you're also thinking about trying not to get yourself
140:05embarrassed and you got Marcus Mariota back there. I could see them being really conservative in this game. Um I could see the Lions getting ahead and
140:15the Commanders running the ball and playing to score a touchdown instead of win, you know, cut the lead to to 10.
140:22That kind of >> we saw them get blown out by the Cowboys and they weren't any fun. like >> - 5% POE, minus 12 on first down against
140:31the Cowboys last week. Minus 12% POE, minus 17% on first down against the Seahawks. Yeah. I mean, they they both
140:40gave up and left their quarterback in in the fourth quarter who suffered a major elbow injury. Like, it's the worst of
140:47both worlds. Like, try try to win the game if you're going to leave your starting quarterback in, but I don't know. I mean, I I don't have a lot of
140:55faith in in Quinn and Kingsberry here to kind of just do what you have to do against the Lions. And what you have to
141:02do is throw. Lions 67% pass rate against >> 3% Poe against 3% shift to the pass. The Lions are going to push you. You have to
141:11throw. You have to play aggressively.
141:15I don't I don't know if the commanders will.
141:19Yeah, that's and then but everyone here if you you can make a case for any lion basically. Uh >> amra easy uh I think it's another
141:29Leapora week again. Uh funny keeps popping up with different signals but uh he's been targeted on 31% of his routes on play action. 3.4 yards per out run.
141:38Even removing the play action component here, Washington has just been gouged by tight ends anyways. 30th in touchdown rate and 31st in yards per target
141:46against tight ends. So, he's on the board again.
141:50>> Um, >> this is Jameson play.
141:53>> Jameson, sure. Um, >> I actually think, yeah, I made fun of the first two target rate stuff for Jameson, but I I think this could be a
142:00spot where, you know, he's getting loose.
142:02>> Well, this is a spot where he could actually have five targets and still be okay.
142:06>> Totally. Totally.
142:08>> They've allowed four The Commanders allowed 45 receptions to wide receivers and throws 10 or more yards downfield.
142:13It's the second most in the NFL. Um they're I mean dude they're allowing 14 yards per catch to wide receivers. Like
142:20it's just it's just not a good defense.
142:22They're giving up chunk chunk gains.
142:26>> Yeah, >> which is what we want. We do want the chunk gains.
142:29>> We do want chunk gains. That's true.
142:31Yeah. No, this is like you're you're betting on probably a couple targets is the way I put it um for Jameson
142:36Williams. But it is it's true. Those targets could really go your way. This is more of a seasonl long take, but
142:40>> he's pretty cheap on DraftKings.
142:42>> What What is he? He's in the four.
142:45>> He's 49.
142:47>> I wish he was like 43.
142:49>> Yeah, that's where Sllayton is. Sllayton is like the >> Yeah. Well, yeah, maybe four five because I would like easily play him
142:55over Sllayton. But >> yeah.
142:56>> Yeah. Um No, he's definitely in play.
142:59He's definitely in play.
143:01>> I do I would rank them St. Brown, Leaporta, Williams.
143:05>> That's how I would rank it, too.
143:07>> This is not a DFS play because he's 5K.
143:10Um although Scroll Patrol did mention him. um as as viable. But David Montgomery, I think, sets up reasonably well here. Uh he's been like he had 55%
143:21of the carries last week. He was up to he was up 41% against the Bucks. And he's been like he has a 1.58 yards per
143:29run this year. He led the league in yards per run last year. He's been a big part of their play action uh passing
143:36game in part because he's like kind of the more traditional downhill runner. So he's like on the field for those looks.
143:42Um probably not in part. That's like the whole reason I assume. But you know, but he's also I guess the other part of the
143:48reason is that he's the decent pass catcher actually. And um so even though Gibbs is a better pass catcher, Montgomery is benefiting from uh you
143:57know the play action looks and this could be a spot where we get plenty of play action. And so if Jameson's not
144:02getting open on that deep look first read, check it down to David Montgomery.
144:06Let him run. Um, I I think like I've got a league where I'm like, you know, flexing David Montgomery sometimes in a
144:15dynasty league and this will be one of those those weeks.
144:19>> Yeah. Uh, this would be like the prototypical Dave Montgomery environment as well. Um, yeah. And for the people that didn't know what I was talking
144:25about, I didn't see you earlier about the Gibbs stuff is last week Brian Flores just sent like a bunch of A gap
144:31pressures uh at the Lions and what it forced Gibbs to do is stay in pass protect. He passed protected on a
144:37career-high 15 snaps. He allowed seven pressures because he's a 200lb running back blocking Andrew Van Ginkle. Uh, no running back has allowed more than three
144:45pressures in a game this season because you just don't typically have that kind of passing protection volume. Um, and like he just took he just got punished
144:51the entire game. Gibbs though is having like kind of a an off year though in general because the Lions again the
144:57interior offensive line stuff's been an issue. Out of 44 running backs at 50 or more carries, he's 34th in run of 10 or
145:04more yards. Uh, and if you remove the offensive kind of line offensive line component, yards after contact this year, he's he's 35th sandwiched between
145:13Alvin Kamar and Woody Marks.
145:15>> Um, kind of odd like we're not getting like he something's been off about the run game in general and just he's been a
145:21little bit off himself. We did now we did just come off of a week before the buy we had 200 yards against the
145:26Buccaneers. Like so you're not like >> Yeah. Yeah.
145:29>> You're not like running from the hill.
145:30You're like, "Oh, what's wrong with him?" But like something's just been a little bit off with the run game uh in
145:35general.
145:37>> Yeah, I would note um just to go back to the tackle stuff, they have a reserve tackle has been solid. Um and so the
145:46fact that they'll have Su here is really important.
145:50>> Uh Dan Skipper is is their reserve tackle who's been solid. So he he'll fill in for Decker and I don't think
145:57>> who might pass off the line is a big issue. Is he is he catch passes? Yeah, he's like the dude they throw to you,
146:02right?
146:02>> The guy. Okay, >> he's like the lineman they >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. I will say I got one gross one before we we shut this down.
146:11This is like another I have a punt play in this game.
146:15>> Go ahead.
146:15>> Uh is Jaylen Lane.
146:17>> Oh, all right.
146:18>> Yeah. So, with Luke McAffrey now out for the year, so we know Chris Moore is the Terry McLaren fill in. And McLaren's
146:24already out. He's not playing this game, but Chris Moore just goes out there and exercises like he he's got a 10% target
146:30per out rate and he's got less than a yard per out run. But basically, >> he was not targeted on 80% round
146:35participation against the Seahawks.
146:37>> Yeah, McCaffrey and Jaylen Lane were splitting duties. It's like they were kind of like rotating. Uh but with McAffrey out of the game last week,
146:45Jaylen Lane was back up to 70%. That's probably where he's going to be. He's not going to be in the like I said,
146:49Chris Moore will be the wide receiver, too. But here's the the the dynamics for here is um against man coverage, he's
146:56been targeted on 25% of his routes, three and a half yards per route run. He leads the Commanders in receiving yards
147:02against man coverage without Terry McLaren on the field. Uh we know Lion's fourth highest man coverage rate. Like we assume they'll be at least forced to
147:08throw at some point, but will they? Like you noted, they might not. Again, this guy could be a zero, but he's another
147:14one of these just like punt like or in your deeper league like you're really scouring to fill a spot like there might
147:21be something here.
147:24>> Okay. Yes, he's 3600.
147:26>> Um, so he's he's pretty cheap. We did talk about Ray Ray Mloud, so he's he's kind of he's like a premium premium.
147:34>> You got Ray Ray Mloud, Kyle Williams, and uh Jaylen Lane. This is what this slate is offering you. Uh >> he's comfy compared to compared to a
147:43couple of those guys. I mean yeah >> they he was a he was a relatively draft capital guy too. Like the team did at
147:50least invest into >> fourth round pick I think. Yeah.
147:53>> Yeah. So [laughter] >> yeah.
147:55>> I don't know. Listen again this is where we are.
147:58>> This is where we are. [laughter] >> Yeah. Yeah. I mean Debo Samuel I wasn't that into. I know he projects pretty
148:07well, but um >> he's clearly still playing injured.
148:12>> Yeah, he hasn't been efficient and I just don't trust volume here. So, I kind of like the call on on Lane a bit more.
148:19Um >> you'd rather just outright punt with a dude if you're gonna >> Yeah, I' I'd rather punt. Yeah.
148:24>> Yeah, >> that's right. And he's I'm not going to play like him exclusively. It's just like, man, I was thinking if I'm going
148:29to do like a golf like to to be able to fit golf plus Ammonra plus Leaporta, like it's like, all right, well, do I
148:37bring one of these? Like, if I'm just going to >> take a cheap dude, like he would be him in the game, and you hope that that's
148:42how the way it would run out.
148:45>> I think, you know, it's a week we talked about where things that aren't normally that viable are viable. I I think he's
148:51definitely included in that. Um, all right, Rams and 49ers. This is the the last game here.
148:58Let's uh which side should we start with here? Let's maybe the 49er side. Get that out of the way.
149:05>> Yeah, sure. Uh do you want to start with them? We don't know. Did they announce?
149:08I think I assume it's going to be Mac.
149:09Jones.
149:10>> I'm assuming Jones.
149:12>> Yeah, the way I haven't seen like today's uh practices like if they because they said they were announce. I just the way Shanahan was talking about
149:20it yesterday, >> it made it the vibes were this is going to be Mac. Jones, right?
149:25>> The vibes are M. Jones. Yeah, >> we'll approach it from M. Jones and if we need to adjust, so be it. But
149:32>> yeah, the adjustment I think is that like pretty is better and he's better under pressure. And my >> we got to stop the quarterback
149:38controversy that's going around.
149:40>> It's dumb.
149:40>> It's dumb.
149:42Look, like look, M. Jones can be really good when you keep >> He's doing his job.
149:47>> Yeah, he's doing a good job. Brock Party's better.
149:50>> And that's not a negative to say M.
149:51Jones sucks either. It's just that he's doing his job. This is what he's supposed to be doing right now. And when
149:57the other guy comes back, he's gonna be have the job, >> right? Because he's the starting quarterback who's better than the
150:02backup.
150:02>> Yes.
150:05>> I don't know why like we keep like trying to make this something and it it's like not going to be.
150:09>> It's not. And and and like Jones was up against a a weak Giants defense that they ran all over. It was perfect,
150:18right? You've got you got like you're running the ball almost 60% of the time.
150:2457% of the time I think they ran the ball. And so then you have M. Jones doing his thing off of that and he's
150:32very effective against a weak defense that's got an okay pass rush but it's not like unstoppable.
150:38And now he gets the Rams pass defense that's third in passing DOA, second in EPA, third in quick pressure, fourth in
150:46pressure rate. I know he was good against them when they played the first time, but I don't love him in the
150:53rematch here. I'm worried about the Rams getting pressure and uh and to me it's like hey keep M. Jones clean you're
151:01good. If he's pressured he is not as good as Pury. This is the where I think the two of them really do separate where
151:08like Pertie will make plays. He can like do some cool stuff under pressure. Um and M. Jones is much more of an executor
151:16of the Shanahan offense from a clean pocket.
151:19>> Right. It's it's what Kyle Shannon's done with like every moderate pocket passer he's ever had. It's exactly like what you know
151:26>> Jimmy it's kind of Jimmyish >> right. Yeah. What happens I will say though I am confident not in playing M.
151:32Jones because I'm not going to play M.
151:33Jones but I am confident like these are the games that Kyle Shanahan gets up for and MC like these dudes love to try to
151:40beat each other and when these teams played earlier in the year like it was it was never more apparent. Uh remember
151:47we we were like talking about like man they should just rest CMC like they were coming to that game without Dwan
151:51Jennings they have Ricky Pieraw they have George KD was like what are they even coming to they're going to Sofi like like this is going to be terrible
151:59like just punt this week and Kyle Shannon is like oh man this is like I live for this like like why remember the
152:05first drive of the game they came out and like heavy at the goal line and then this like shifted to wide personnel and
152:10got Chris McAffrey at a linebacker and it's like this is like you knew immediately like you're like oh Kyle Shan's He's ready to like do Kyle Shane
152:18hand [ __ ] this game and that's what these guys at least bring the best. So in that game the Rams had their second
152:22lowest pressure rate in the season. They had one sack all night in that game.
152:26like this is so like I'm confident in just like this matchup bringing out the best of like these guys want to beat
152:32each other and dial stuff up and that makes me like this game more because typically you would see this divisional rematch
152:39a a good defense that the Rams clearly have and you'd be like a this is going to be like could be kind of a slo right
152:45and like maybe it doesn't >> honestly yeah I'm I'm viewing it kind of on the more on paper plus it's it's
152:50going to be on during the shipcast window and we've got not a great like we just turned the the chief's bills into a
152:56slog. So like this is no problem for us.
152:58>> Yeah. [laughter] But I'm just like this is these are where these coordinators like they want to outdo each other man.
153:04Like it's >> Yeah.
153:05>> I mean you look at the you know Kyle Shenan's history against the Rams. I mean six yards per play against these
153:11like he wants to Hey man, I'm the I'm the master. Like remember where you came from. Like you know [laughter] like I
153:18like >> I brought you into this world. I can take you out.
153:22>> Yeah man. Like I [laughter] love big vibes though, man. Like there is like you can't like you you can't tell me
153:28these like they get up for this. So >> for sure. No, that's a good point.
153:32>> Like so the four and they're going to have Joan Jennings this game. They're gonna have George KD in this game now.
153:37I'm pretty sure George KD is still not himself, but >> he's out there. The numbers back that up.
153:42>> He's out there doing stuff. Um yeah, like he's not getting open at all. Uh but >> he still impacts the run game. 49ers
153:50have shifted to a lot more like downhill like power inside zone since KD's come back too. Like they're running downhill instead of outside zone stuff which is
153:58what the old Shanahan staple. But it's just me having faith and like they're going to have some stuff, man. They're gonna have some stuff here.
154:04>> Yeah. All right. Well, so how are you are you are you I mean McAffrey like Yeah. I mean even I'm like I'm worried
154:11about Jones. I'm not worried about McAffrey. McAffrey is you know gonna get absolutely fed and we'll be just fine.
154:17>> Dude has 229 touches. It's crazy. I mean, he's been so bad as a runner and it just doesn't matter.
154:25>> No, he's taken advantage at least the last couple weeks against match ups he should have. This isn't one of those,
154:29but like at least we've seen him against like the Giants and Falcons. You're like, "All right, at least now like moving forward, we might That's cuz
154:35that's when you really play him in DFS is when you're like, "Oh, we could get the rushing plus the receiving."
154:41>> That's when you get real. That's when you can score 40. That's when he scores 30 plus fantasy points. Like those,
154:46>> right? um this week could be one of those where he doesn't actually where like he's just like in the low 20s.
154:51>> That's kind of what I assume, but also it's like a dangerous bet to makeough a couple touchdowns and like you know he's
154:59especially on this slate with no Jonathan Taylor. Uh like he's a he's a he's an outright tough fade for sure.
155:05>> But yeah, I mean we know he's gonna get the ball a ton. Um, so yeah, I mean, dude, last week they were up 10 with
155:13under two minutes to go and he was still running the ball.
155:16>> Kyle Shanahan cannot help cannot, dude.
155:20>> He's never once helped himself.
155:22>> And it's the same thing with with McVey and Puka. McVey can't help.
155:26>> No, these guys he's they're built the same. They're built the same.
155:30>> If a guy on a fourth and one end round >> Yeah. dumb play. Yeah. Yeah, I mean they like if McAffrey is available, he's
155:39going to play him as much as he can handle.
155:42>> The only thing that could save McAffrey is if he like stopped being good as a receiver. Like if he wasn't doing well,
155:48then it would end. But for as long as he's like the engine of the passing game, which he like clearly is. Got 25%
155:54target share as a running back, 2.11 yards per out run as a running back.
155:58This dude is still awesome as a receiver and is very important to the team. So, he's going to just get fed. He's gonna
156:03get fed.
156:04>> Pretty pretty simple as that.
156:07Jennings. Uh I Davis was talking him up as a as a really underpriced um DFS piece. Are you are you into him?
156:17>> Uh at his price. Yeah. Just for the the the salary and the opportunity he's been getting. I think the matchup presents
156:22some negative signals, but it might not matter because that, you know, they got Kendrick Bourne 140 yards. Like again like it's just me just me having fa like
156:30maybe I just got to throw out some of this stuff like right like [laughter] >> cuz he has like massive splits against
156:36man zone. It's why we kind of wanted to play him a little bit last week and they just didn't have to he got the touchdown
156:40but they just didn't have to throw >> maybe you can hear uh um yeah so I mean the the Rams don't play any man coverage
156:48or 14.8% man rate. Jennings at 36% target rate against man coverage 16% against zone. And maybe that's a Mac Jones thing or schmag thing. It's tough
156:56to say because it wasn't like that under Perty. It was very balanced last year with Pertie. So, it could just be noisy
157:02and still relatively small samply. And like I said, I'm willing to throw it out anyways because the last time these teams played like Kyle Shannon got
157:08Kendrick Bourne 140 yards. Like he's $4,500. Like he he he fits. It's a game that I I have faith in the
157:17offensive system. So, sure.
157:20>> Yeah.
157:23on the I mean well KD KD is is going to get played and the ceiling is theoretically very high because he is
157:32George KD he hasn't shown anything there's no numbers you can point to my literal analysis in the walkthrough was it's George KD man
157:41>> but that's it that's all we have to go on um he's showing up is is fairly chalky because he's only 4500
157:48I mean I'm not going to say it's it's a bad play it's Not a bad play. It's George KD. But I kind of think maybe
157:56it's it's a decent chalk piece to fade, you know, because because all you're kind of betting on is he's still not
158:01right in and the numbers like, you know, we talked about back up that idea.
158:06>> Yeah, he's second to last in tight end since he came back in uh the fantasy point separation score stuff.
158:12>> Just not really getting open. We also have kind of an ongoing history now with him and Christian McCaffrey playing.
158:19he's not as good for fantasy football.
158:22So, >> that small sample that this year is now goes back to previous year iterations of the offense. Um, it's tougher to like
158:31calibrate that though because like they had so many other guys like Brandon Iayuk and Debo Samuel. Like it's all kind of different this year. It's like a
158:37But, uh, just three games. You said he's 4,500. Like we would expect KD to have at least one KD type game, but I kind of
158:45don't want >> and not necessarily when you project it.
158:48>> But that's so that's my thing is like I want I want to play KD when he like no one is playing KD,
158:54>> right? Yeah.
158:55>> I don't want to play when everyone's playing him.
158:56>> I don't want to play chalk KD when I mean there's the thing with KD is like he is very unpredictable. He's not one
159:03of these guys you're like, "Oh, it's a KD spot." A KD spot is just that time he happened to go off.
159:08>> Yeah.
159:09>> When he goes off, he goes off. He because he's a because he's a great football player.
159:12>> He's a great football player. So yeah, I I I'm with you though. I don't love it's kind of Derk Henryish where it's like I
159:20I don't know. It's be whenever he happened to have that crazy ass run and then he had another crazy ass run, you
159:25know, two drives later and now he's, you know, a got to have it piece. But you want that at low ownership generally.
159:32>> Yeah, exactly. That's that's the way I feel about it. But like I said, 4,500 George K. I get why people are doing it,
159:38especially on the slate. I actually kind of am going back to McCaffrey now and thinking like because yeah I mean he had
159:45I mean in that game that they he had 30 touches when they played and 140 yards.
159:50He had 20 he had uh well he had 279 PPR in that game. So, like that's still tough to leave cuz I'm like, "All right,
159:58can we live if he gets like 22 to 25?"
160:00But that still might matter on the slate.
160:02>> And and you're like going I'm Yeah, >> it's just >> I like thinking it through and I'm not sure what the right answer is right now,
160:10but it's like it is one of those things where there's just not that many great plays. So if you take kind of the
160:17easiest safest play off of your lineup, then you're going to like even >> No, I mean yet another low confidence thing, you know,
160:25>> the next top five running backs and cost are like he's a thousand more than Gibbs and we kind of walk through that. Like
160:30there is some volatility still with Gibbs. He's 1,500 more than James Cook who might not catch a pass. And then >> Cook is a strong play though. I I do
160:39>> I do think Cook is a I do think Cook is a good play as well, but again might not pass. Han a Chan's quarterback might be
160:46throwing three interceptions.
160:47>> Then you have Derrick Henry, Kairen in this game and then Judkins. It's just not like >> it's just not a strong like you don't
160:53have a like you say that a lot of conviction in a lot of those other guys even though I do like Cook, I like Han,
160:59but from a conviction stance I'm like wow this dude's gonna get 30 touches like and catch eight passes.
161:05>> Yeah, the conviction is is fully there.
161:09>> So it's it is a real tough fade, I think. Yeah, it is. It is. Um, Rams
161:16side, uh, the 49ers, man, they are really banged up. Um, >> Fred Warner's out. Michael Williams is out now for the year.
161:27>> Bryce Huff might be coming back, which is pretty important. Um, >> they got Ken White and immediately he put on a 49ers uniform and had a
161:34hamstring injury.
161:36>> No.
161:38Yeah, I'm I'm starting to believe uh the conspiracy theory is that the electrical plant or whatever is stealing powers from these guys.
161:46>> Well, the other theory is that it's that Macaffrey is sort of sucking the life force out of every >> He's literally the Scarlet Witch.
161:54>> Yeah.
161:56>> Shung like just taking all the powers.
162:00>> Hey man, if long as you keep scoring 25 fantasy points. as someone who wrote Christopher Capri RB1 in the preseason
162:08on uh and felt terribly like terri like this could be be bad for your boy. Uh we're surviving. We're surviving.
162:20>> Yeah. So, you're for it? I'm I think I might be for it, too.
162:23>> We'll see how bad it gets. I'd like Pretty to be able to come back.
162:26>> That'd be nice.
162:27>> I do as well. But this defense is, like you kind of said, they're now 28th in EPA as a pass defense because they're
162:33second to last over the past five games.
162:36Um, Rams lead the league in success rate passing over the past month. Uh, and the 49ers had 6.1 yards per play over the
162:44past five games. That's 30 if they were at 4.6 prior, which was six. Like, they just lost all the guys. They just lost
162:50all their dudes.
162:52>> Yeah, Huff has been like a really important piece for them. He's limited limited with a hamstring. We'll see today. If he came back, that would give
163:00them a little bit more pass rush juice, which they could really use. They're 27th in pressure rate, 25th in quick pressure rate. Um they lost Bosa before
163:10the first game, but they had um Warner and I believe they had Huff and and Mike.
163:17>> Yeah, Huff had a sack a sack and Mike Williams uh was awesome in that game.
163:22the Mike Kell Williams splits and you he's a rookie but uh they're like Quinnon Williamsesque. So 49ers have faced 75 backfield runs this year
163:30without Mike Williams on the field. Uh 4.7 yards per carry allowed, 53% success rate compared to when he's on the field.
163:383.8 yards per carry and a 64% success rate against running back runs. So a pretty significant loss too for them in
163:45the interior.
163:48If you're right about kind of that, you know, this being misleading on paper and it's because of these two coaches, like
163:55they're just both going to be throwing everything they have and this is actually like a sneaky fun game.
164:00Isn't Kyron Williams kind of an awesome play then? Yeah, part partially for what I said, but also um when the games are
164:08competitive, he plays uh >> he has played 80% of the offensive snaps and 80% of has 80% of the backfield touches when the Rams trail. This
164:18happened in the first game that they played. Uh and then that when they're ahead and play like in the the positive
164:23game script is where you see Cororm come in and sprinkle in. But they don't trust Cororm when they need to make up points.
164:28So this is on the road. So, like I would I think you can make a pretty good case for him. You need the play out though if
164:36you're playing him. You need to I think if you're playing Kairen Williams, you're playing it with 49ers driving the game.
164:42>> You are.
164:44>> You are. I don't know that you're I mean, maybe >> so you wouldn't be playing with like the other pieces probably like you you could
164:51probably always play Puka, but like you aren't adding like you're not doing like a Stafford thing with him. It would >> he honestly correlates kind of well with
164:58McCaffrey.
164:59>> Yeah. Well, McCaffry is just like a unicorn dude that just >> like everyone correlates well with because >> Well, yeah, because he's like one of
165:07those running backs you can stack with the quarterback. Like it's like rules kind of just like he breaks.
165:11>> Oh, him and Pretty were an awesome stack like >> year or two ago.
165:15>> Um Yeah. So, Williams is kind of interesting. I hadn't thought too much about him and it's like a little fragile
165:21because you're betting on like a specific type of game like here.
165:26>> Yeah. Yeah, I mean the biggest issue has been Cororm just taking taking work and especially when they're when they're up
165:33a ton, you know, you have to worry about garbage time a little bit, >> but he's like the he's completely trustworthy. Like he's not Kyron
165:39Williams is never going to be due that's going to like turn in like a Saquon Barkley or he's ripping like 60 yard
165:42runs. But I mean, dude, high success Jacobs low rate. Yes, 100%.
165:49>> 49% success rate this year, which is running back four. So, he has been really good. And the other thing with
165:54with Williams is that there's sort of a difference between like burst and explosiveness. In my mind, I think of burst was more of like, you know, you
166:03you burst through the hole, you get that like 15 yard gain, maybe like 12 yard gain, whatever. And then there's like,
166:09>> are you ripping off 40 yard runs, right?
166:11You know, Jonathan Taylor has both, right? But you don't Kron Williams does not have both. Karen Williams is running back 35 in breakaway yards per game, but
166:21he's running back 13 in rush yards over expected. So you he's like he's kind of adding the consistency, but the consistency isn't it's not Zack
166:28Charbanet where he's got a 43% success rate, but he doesn't have any burst.
166:32It's you get you get you get kind of the first layer of you you hit the right hole, you're successful, and the second
166:39of hey, maybe you pick up seven yards here, eight yards here. Honestly, frankly, like Manungi last week, you know, apologies to Manungi for for I
166:47wasn't familiar with your game, but like uh dude dude was dude had a lot of burst. Not much explosiveness really, but a lot of burst. And so that's
166:55>> that's kind of with Kairen, I think. You know, you're >> you give him enough carries >> and he racks up yards and he gets in the
167:03end zone. But it's been trickier this year because Corm's been stealing enough work and you can't be giving up work if
167:10you have this type of profile. It really for you know for like RB1 upside um it really really hurts it but maybe in this
167:18game they have to lean on him a little bit more. So yeah he's kind of intriguing and then I mean what's there
167:24to say? Puka Nakua man as long as he's healthy and it seems like he's healthy he's going to crush >> just every week there's just no player
167:33like him. Um, you know, Ben Solak had posted a cool ass video uh how the Rams were using him like in motion as a
167:39fullback to set up that touchdown he had in that game last week. Just awesome stuff. Like, and there's just no player
167:45that can do that stuff because he's unique. Like, he he's so good in the run game. He's kind of like uh, you know,
167:51like a like one of these guys we talk about like KD and Craft, like these guys.
167:55>> They just impact the game on every level.
167:58>> Um, and he's just such a chess piece.
168:01Uh, you know, the only thing with him is that he's a little bit of a battering Graham. He's got that Anquin Balden gene
168:06where like you're too he's so physical that like he almost he takes on those bumps and bruises, but anytime he's on
168:12the field like you know exactly what you're getting targeted on 36% of his routes like he's only if I mean he'd be
168:18like completely dwarfing the field it wasn't for this just like incredible JSN season going on right now.
168:24>> Totally.
168:24>> Um yeah, >> Adams here I think is also interesting.
168:29Um, you know, he he has such a nice red zone role that while he's not puka, he's still he's still very valuable.
168:36>> Yeah. The whole plan is built out of him.
168:39>> Yeah. So, I'm into I'm into Adam somewhat here. I don't think uh what's he in DFS? I probably will.
168:46>> He's He's pricey and he's 75.
168:50>> Yeah. worried about that.
168:51>> He is very pricey just because he doesn't do a lot outside of the touchdowns, >> but >> like he's not dropping a lot of It's
168:59crazy scoring a lot of touchdowns is you're not getting a lot of like tournament worthy scores at that price for him.
169:04>> Yeah. But I'm like happily I'm treating him as a wide receiver one in in season long. Like what a touchdown equity dude
169:10dude has 16 end zone targets like >> it's nuts. It's absolutely wild. It's kind of genius like where you're like we're going to have a tendency that it's
169:21Puka all the time except when we get into the red zone now it's going to be Adams. So now you have to like focus
169:28your attention to Adams but that means like Puka can score more easily which is obviously awesome for the Rams. You know
169:35what I mean? Like I think it's kind of smart for them to signal like Adams is our red zone guy >> cuz
169:42if they want it >> McVey has been absolutely incredible this year. Like I talked about early in the season with the under center stuff
169:49like being ahead and like dude so the last three games the Rams uh cuz you know they lost two to Atwell Puka missed
169:55the game. They've completely flipped like their wide receiver rotation. They have used 13 personnel the last three games 16% 39% and 46% of their times.
170:05And here's the kicker. They're not doing this to run. They've used the past few games they've thrown the ball uh 27% of
170:12the time and 32% of the time out of 13 personnel.
170:15>> Wow.
170:15>> Like the these are they're making they're doing like kind of like how like Greg Olsen was going off about like the
170:20Seahawks and like but they're coaxing teams into playing heavy and like >> playing all these tight ends with Puka and Adams. It's like completely bonkers.
170:28It's like Mad Hatter type [ __ ] Terren Ferguson the past two games is averaging 24 air yards per target. Like
170:35>> Ferguson's yards per route run are kind of nuts. Like >> because he's averaging 24 yards per target. [laughter] >> He had 5.40 yards per hour run.
170:46>> Yeah, you're right. He had 18.3 ADOT and then 29 ADOT against the Jags in London.
170:51>> Yeah. And he 39% of his snaps have been played at wide receiver out wide and 19% in the slot. Like he's still there. He's
170:57a rotating like you're not going to chase this stuff. But I just think I just think it's really cool like >> you know for someone
171:03>> third tight end cuz he's >> Davis uh Davis Allen they're playing all of them like they're all playing all they're a fourman rotation.
171:10>> It's so wild >> dude. I'm telling you it is like what it's I find it fascinating like I'm not like you know I'm like a loose ball
171:16knower like but like it's like it's very it's very cool like to see because like you know >> my big my theory like the past two years
171:25has been like drafting a lot of players that have like are on the Mick Shanahan coaching tree because they understand how to like beat the current defense
171:33right like the way the defensive meta is and this isn't like tried and true it's like gospel but like you know these guys
171:38are consistently doing the things to make those defenses be put in hell. like if this is how you want to play like
171:43cool. Uh and like what he's doing is so awesome.
171:47>> The tricky part about that theory is you have to like figure out which guys belong in that tree and which don't you
171:52know >> like Brian Callahan.
171:55>> Yeah, Brian Callahan, you're out. Liam Cohen, I don't know. You were in.
172:01>> I'm not sure if you're in next year.
172:03>> Mike McDaniel.
172:05You know, >> this has been an amazing Shawn McVey season so far though >> to this point. And it's honestly been a
172:12pretty great Kyle Shannon season this point. Now, one of these dudes is going to blow a playoff game by not going for
172:17a fourth down they're supposed to go to go for, but they have absolutely been in their bag so far this year.
172:22>> It's been an incredible Kyle Shanahan season. Like, this is >> Yeah.
172:26>> I mean, people are saying M. Jones should be their starter. To me, that is a Kyle Shanahan stat. [laughter] >> Never been anything more.
172:37>> Yeah, that's incred. Congratulations to Kyle Shanahan.
172:41>> Every every team could have had Mac.
172:43Jones >> starter. Yeah.
172:44>> Six months ago, every team could have had Mac. Jones.
172:47>> It's It's crazy. Like I mean they It's not just that. Like the defense is completely banged up. I mean banged up
172:54is light. Like this defense has been ravaged by injuries. The receiving core has been ravaged by injuries.
172:59>> Lines and hurt.
173:00>> I don't know if Brandon Iuk's going to play a single game this year. Ricky Pearl has been out indefinitely. Party's
173:05been out indefinitely. Like this this is crazy. Like this this team in there are so many coaches where this
173:15team has like one win.
173:18>> Absolutely.
173:19>> That's the level of injuries that starting quarterback, the entire defense, the entire wide receiver core.
173:25Like this is devastating for most other coaches and they've been kind of chugging along.
173:31>> They're expected. They're expected. What is it? the Pythagorean really like they're they they should be four they should be four and four basically or
173:38like they're 4.7 4.3 like they should be like a 500 team.
173:43>> I mean but even that that just tells you that they've been winning close games but I think under most coaches those
173:49games aren't close. They're getting crushed >> probably like like Brian Callahan is not four and four with this team.
173:56>> Absolutely not.
173:57>> He's not four and four. Good luck. And that's said like, yeah, this game could already fail and be like a divisional
174:02rematch slog, but like I I like I'm tending like, hey, man, like these guys like >> they're ready, man. These these they've
174:10been this is like their mini like they're in seasons for these guys.
174:15>> Funnily enough, you that talks me into Kyron Williams is a is a more interesting play than I was initially thinking even though you mostly were
174:21were optimistic more optimistic than I was on the 49er side. Yeah, but uh he's another one of those guys like in that
174:27like there's going to be a guy in that uh six mid sixes to high five range that like is pivotal for this slate.
174:35>> There is.
174:36>> Um and it and it feels like the field is now getting to Judkins and Kairen's a very Judkins adjacent player.
174:43>> So >> yeah. And what do you save with Judkins?
174:48Judkins is >> the same price but 65 66. Wow. Yeah.
174:52>> A pivot off Judkins. massive chalk. If that's where we get to, >> if we if the field gets there. Yeah,
174:57>> I kind of think they will. I mean, the narrative stuff on the trades and the Jets sucking ass like everyone, you
175:03know, you don't have to.
175:04>> Hey, did you know the Jets suck? Like, oh, you did? Okay.
175:07>> Yeah.
175:08>> You know, I don't think you have to.
175:09>> And this game is just objectively better, too.
175:13>> Yeah, this game is better. I mean, the Browns game could be horrible.
175:17>> It could be horrible. It's Dylan Gabriel. We're talking about like it's Monday and you've slammed Quinchan Judkins. I was like, did you consider
175:26that the quarterback was so bad that Kevin Stfans had to give up play calling duties?
175:30>> Did you consider that game was going to be 10 to nine? [laughter] >> Cross your mind or you >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
175:38>> No. No. Yeah. I came away too. Yeah.
175:40That it could be more Kairen u or at least more fun. The outcome in the range of outcomes >> for sure. I like it.
175:48>> All right, I dig it.
175:49>> That'll do it. We're just under three.
175:51There were so many times where I thought we're not going to go three hours. We're actually going to uh wrap up a little.
175:55But here we are. It's 2 minutes 55 seconds.
175:58Two hours 55 minutes. Um and now we just said 256. So, all right, let's get out here and uh remind people
176:07where they can check out the worksheet.
