Terrance Ferguson

NegativeUsage0:06

The source is skeptical of Ferguson's fantasy outlook due to a crowded Rams tight end room; he recorded a poor 36% route participation rate in 2023. While the source notes he has movement skills similar to Travis Kelce—specifically his ability to keep his feet close to the ground and work edges—his path to a starting role is blocked by the team's depth, including Tyler Higbee, Colby Parkinson, and second-round pick Max Clark. The source believes this depth signals a continued tight end committee approach, making Ferguson's current cheap ADP a gamble on whether he can actually secure the primary role.

Tyler Higbee

NegativeDepth Chart3:41

The source views the return of Tyler Higbee to the Rams roster as a key factor in the team's likely reliance on a tight end committee. This depth, alongside Colby Parkinson and second-round pick Max Clark, creates a crowded situation that threatens to limit the route participation and fantasy upside for any single tight end on the team.

0:00And here's what Davis Maddock is uh is
0:02referencing here.
0:04Honestly, there's some similar
0:06mannerisms to Travis Kelce in terms of
0:09his feet are always close to the ground.
0:12He's kind of just able to skate. He's
0:15got good natural ability to work edges
0:17on people. One of the things that I
0:19liked the most about him that really
0:21wasn't on display last year, he
0:23obviously did a great job tracking some
0:25big balls down the field, but his run
0:27after the catch. He was catching a lot
0:29of check-downs or chip flats or whatever
0:31in Oregon, and you could see the run
0:33after catch was one of the elite traits
0:35that we liked. That's always an
0:37important factor for any of our our
0:39skill players, and he's no different.
0:41Which we we we talked about this before,
0:44Pat, that they they did not tap into
0:46that yard after the catch stuff.
0:48>> The part of the Ferguson thing that
0:50continues to kind of
0:52I struggle with is like he goes
0:55he was so instrumental to our success
0:58last year.
1:01No, he wasn't.
1:03He wasn't instrumental to their success
1:05in a in a way that like you telling me
1:07that he was is pretty bearish
1:10for what you're saying his role is this
1:13year. Like he he had 36% route
1:16participation last year. That sucks.
1:19Like if he was so instrumental and
1:21you're excited about that,
1:25how much is he playing this year? How is
1:27he so instrumental at 46%, 55%? Like I
1:31want this guy running 75% of the routes
1:34ideally. Right? Like 65% would be okay.
1:3855% I'm kind of nervous, but maybe he
1:41gets there. Like But he's got a lot he's
1:43got a long way to go in terms of playing
1:46time.
1:47And then he's saying guys like Terrance
1:49Ferguson are going to be a big part of
1:50what we do.
1:51Uh
1:52that's cool, but like couldn't you have
1:54just said Terrance Ferguson is going to
1:56be a big part of what we do. Guys like
1:58him sounds again like he's in a sort of
2:02a tight end committee. So, that's
2:04Is he in a tight end committee or is he
2:06going to be their starting tight end?
2:07Cuz if he's going to be their starting
2:08tight end, I get it. He's an exciting
2:11player. He's too cheap for sure if he's
2:14going to be their starting tight end.
2:15But, is he? Or is he on track to be a
2:18part of a tight end committee like they
2:19ran out last year and seem to be pretty
2:21happy with. They bring back Tyler
2:22Higbee, they have Colby Parkinson still,
2:24they draft Max Clark which is, you know,
2:26I think at least a sign is a second
2:28round pick. Like it's a sign that they,
2:30you know, are going to be playing
2:31multiple guys at the position. I do
2:33expect that he'll run more routes than
2:35last year for sure, but like is there a
2:37path to him being the the starting tight
2:39end for the Rams?
