0:01Welcome to the Legendary Upside podcast and YouTube channel. My name is Pat Karine. You can follow my content at legendary upside.com. With me today,
0:08Michael Dubner for TopGuy Tuesday. We're going to be drafting a team by taking the top recommendation on the sidekick uh in every round. And as we do that,
0:17we're going to answer questions from the chat from the Discord for this mailbag episode. Dudner, how's it going?
0:23>> I'm ready to uh click some top guys.
0:25It's why we're here Tuesday night. Yeah, you don't even have to click anything.
0:29I'll I'll >> I'm here to watch you click some Todd guys.
0:32>> You can watch click some Top Guys. Um, welcome to everyone in the chat. Um, uh, let's let's start with this one. Uh,
0:42if you have this handy, I'd be curious for yours. How many players are you above 25% on right now? And who are
0:48they? Thank you.
0:50Uh, I'll pull up my underdog best baseball exposure for the traditional baseball. Uh, I at quarterback, I'm over
1:0025% on one player. I think people probably can guess who. It's, uh, Patrick Mahomes. Uh, at running back, I
1:10am not over 25% on anyone.
1:13I'm close on Brooks, who I'm at 23% on.
1:17Uh at wide receiver I'm over 25% of Jeremy Bernard, Omar Cooper, Khalil Shakir, Debo Samuel, and just under on Mai Lemon, uh Deshan Stribbling's at 23.
1:28And then Daltton Schultz is my only tight end over 25% at 27%.
1:34>> As a uh fellow top guy clicker, as you can imagine, I'm basically very similar.
1:40I have 38% Mahomes. Uh he's my highest exposure. No running back over 25% with David Montgomery close by at 23. Um wide
1:51receiver basically the same with Bernard Cooper Debo uh Shakir and I actually do have Mai Lemon over 25% and uh Stribbling at 26
2:03>> and then Schultz is the only tight end.
2:06>> Okay.
2:07Um yeah, I uh I'm at 32% on my home. a little bit less than you it sounds like.
2:15But >> I I feel like we've >> we've been getting a slightly less Mahomes more so in that like we don't
2:21reach for him like around and a half ahead of ADP unstacked like we used to.
2:26Um and I had been drafting slightly less the past three weeks. So it's probably why my exposure is still still up over
2:33uh 35%.
2:36>> Okay, that makes sense. Um question about ADP chasing. That's at 4:30 Pacific, 7:30 Eastern. So that's in
2:46close to 90 minutes from now. Um, all that Alec Pierce FUD for the GM to say he's back in week one. That Alec
2:54Pierce FUD doesn't seem great. I mean, from uh, you know, I the starting point on Pierce was like, "Oh my god, they
3:02signed him. He's their he's going to be their number one." And then uh, you know, I guess that's obviously still the
3:08plan, but like then it was like, "Oh yeah, and he's hurt. he might not play week one. So, I don't know. I still feel
3:14like we're that that doesn't seem to be fully priced in. Like his ADP is pretty similar to what it was before we even
3:21knew about the injury.
3:22>> I feel like we've been obviously behind on him from a projection standpoint relative to the industry even before all the injury news. And then so we weren't
3:32ever seeing him and then we got a little bit ahead of the injury stuff before it was widely reported. And now
3:38>> you still didn't see him. Yeah. And now we're even more bearish. We just had a three-hour ranking call last night.
3:45>> I forget if we actually changed something. I think we did. And we're now even more bearish. So, we're just you'll
3:50never never see Alec Pierce in the sidekick.
3:53>> Yeah, we might though. Um, you know, if he does drop like he should drop. And it's one of those things where like our
4:01job, the way this process works for the Sims is like we update the inputs and we're trying to be right and then like
4:08if we get CLV because we were right earlier than the market, awesome. But we're not really like trying to the goal
4:14is not to like play for like we think the price is going to drop so we're going to lower this guy. like we're like
4:19we think he's a worse bet than he was yesterday. So, we're going to lower like you know his chances to play or whatever
4:26and uh what we expect him to actually score like and uh you know that that then hurts his outlook. He should fall
4:34on news like that. We obviously will revisit and be like were we wrong? Were we too bearish? But um I I don't know.
4:41He hasn't fallen a ton. I think that there's sometimes resistance in the market to pe people will players will fall quicker or slower than they'll rise
4:51because you get the auto drafters, you get people who are like, "Oh, this is a massive ADP value. Let me just take
4:57him." So, I I think that um and you've always mentioned that DraftKings is a better um way to see how the market is
5:04going to react quicker just because their ADP algorithm update. So, I'd be curious to see if he's been falling on DraftKings at all, especially I assume
5:11he doesn't have the uh the the dreaded uh red out tag yet, but if he does, that could be something that causes him to
5:19fall even more.
5:21>> Uh question on from this from the Legup Discord. How quickly will the Sims update to news? For example, if a player
5:28gets injured during a preseason game and it's unclear the severity, though the initial indications are it is a significant injury, how and when do the
5:36Sims handle that information? So, the way this works is like we have our leg up rankings crew that is going to be uh
5:44adjusting the inputs and then we run sims with those inputs. So, basically like we're keeping tabs on those types of things. What we would do for
5:55something like that is we would we would adjust things. We would make an adjustment knowing that it wasn't going to be kind of the final adjustment on
6:03that player, but we would use what we had at that time to, you know, be as accurate as we can so that if you're
6:13drafting, you know, after we run new Sims, you're not going to be getting that player at what they were before, you know, a likely significant injury
6:22occurred. So, we uh you know, running new doing all that, running new sims with something like that. Certainly within like an hour of it happening, we
6:31would like to have new sims up. Uh the Discord is a good place to be for stuff like that. When we like are in
6:37preseason, there's potential for like injuries that adjust things pretty quickly. I would want to be in the leg up Discord and we typically post on
6:46stuff like that. If we run new Sims after a big injury in the heat of August, we'll typically >> Yeah. And also just remember that we,
6:55you know, the rankings team, we all have a lot of money at stake in these drafts.
7:00And uh one sec. Um and we're all in like five, some of us that we use [laughter] kick. So like we personally want to
7:08update it as fast as possible.
7:11>> Yeah, we have the same sims powering what we're doing and we Yeah, we we have a lot of action in this as well. So
7:17that's a good point. Um, it's a pretty strong incentive for us to get uh, you know, a good update in quickly.
7:25Plus, we want you guys to have good sims. Um, all right. Here's a question.
7:29Something I just haven't understood all off season from Jay Tyler in the Discord. Blake Cororm and Tayvon Henderson. Both are young day two draft
7:38picks who have shown flashes early in their career. Both are running back twos on their teams behind dependable veteran plotters. Both are on teams with high
7:47powered offenses who will score a lot of touchdowns. Both have standalone and contingent upside. Henderson ADP52.
7:53Cororum ADP 92. I would say couple quick push backs here and then I'll let you weigh in. Henderson was a second round
8:02pick. Cororm was a third round pick.
8:03Henderson is a year two player. Corm is a year three player. I think both those twos are pretty important on the
8:09Henderson side of the ledger and the threes, you know, are are a little less exciting on the quorum side. But what
8:14are your thoughts on that, Cop?
8:17>> Yeah, I mean, he's not wrong. It's just very simplistic and completely ignores the prospect profile of both players.
8:25Like, I'd assume in your prospect model, Trevon probably came out as a way better prospect than Cororum.
8:31>> He did. He was a mid-first round rookie pick. Uh, and Cororm was a a late second round rookie pick type.
8:40So that that's a that's a big I'll I'll pull up like other guys in that in those tiers but that's a pretty big gap. Um
8:50>> yeah and I mean to be fair I feel like we get a decent amount of quorum and we're below market on Trevian. So it's
8:55not like >> we are >> we're not saying that the market's completely right. It's just I definitely think trade like Trayvon over quorum in
9:02a vacuum which you know >> Trayvon was actually in the same tier as Amarian Hampton for me. Same tier as Chimera. Same tier as Josh Jacobs.
9:10Rashad Penny was in this tier. Nick Chub was in this tier. So, you know, it's Jonathan Brooks was in this tier. We
9:16don't really know what he is yet. Uh, so that that's the tier that that Henderson is in. And then you got to go down
9:24pretty far for Core. I mean, Cororm, it's not like a you know, there's been hits out of the late second group. Aaron
9:31Jones was in there. Raandre actually was in there. Um, but yeah, I mean I guess one way to put it, Bucky Irving was in
9:38there, but it's like as a prospect, Cororm is actually more similar to Raandre the plotter that, you know, than than Henderson. So, I also think it's a
9:49little unfair to to call Randre a plotter, but, you know, I guess you could um he can catch the ball a little.
9:56The the larger point though I think has some merit where Henderson has been more expensive than I think he probably
10:06should be. Although like maybe I'm just pissed off I have to pay up for upside now. But it's annoying. He's annoyingly
10:14priced.
10:16>> Yeah. Sorry. I just got distracted by someone asking if the sidekick supports cash games. And I'm just like, man, if
10:22you're playing best ball cash games in 2026, like >> I've gotten that question a pretty good amount. [laughter] >> Like more than not like all the time,
10:31but like more than I thought I would.
10:34>> Entering my $3 12 contained cash game.
10:38>> Yeah.
10:41Yeah. People want the sidekick for like uh like, you know, home league, sleeper, ESPN. I'm like, for what? for do they
10:51have like tournaments there? Like no, they don't. [laughter] I have a league I want to win. Like I'm sorry. I we're not
10:56going to be supporting that. [snorts] >> Yeah. Can we get the the sidekick for that uh fantasy pros uh uh mockdraft
11:03wizard that you know everyone uses for their home leagues? Yeah, I used to use the football guys one which uh the rate
11:10my team and I just like put all my teams in there every time even though like I knew like you could hack it if you just
11:16added like uh you know Ben Rothos like like old Ben Rothosberger as a quarterback. You didn't have to draft Ben Rothosberger. He just go undrafted.
11:24You just put your rate my team and then add Ben Rothosberger and be like this team is sick dude. You're deep
11:28everywhere including quarterback. But if you left Rothberger off it'd be like B minus. You don't have a QB2. [laughter] like, "Oh no, I forgot my backup kicker
11:38and it tanks your draft."
11:40>> It was a nice little ego boost after you drafted knowing how to hack it to make it say my team was good. It didn't
11:46mean anything.
11:48>> Anyway, shout out to rate my team.
11:51Um, all right. Let's see. I see Javvante Williams at the uh I see Javvante Williams at the top of the sidekick a lot or uh at or before
12:02ADP despite him having a traditional dead zone back profile. Gretchen Jacob even discussed him at length on the recent pod. I'm curious what it is about
12:08his role and cost that has a leg up team in on him at current price. Uh and then someone was saying I'm not a Javvante
12:16guy and frequently I could be off of him but did see someone plot basically a touchdown versus expected touchdown by opportunity and Javvante apparently ran
12:22near the coldest in the NFL based on that. So it could be this some of the psychic capturing him scoring uh those
12:28even more. I think the Javvante Williams stuff to me has his his profile is like kind of a quintessential baseball verse
12:36reddraft thing where I'm not real interested in him in reddraft. think I can find Javvante-esque production maybe later or at least for part of the
12:46year later and I can maybe if I even if I'm wrong and I don't get there I can still like find receiver production with
12:55that Javvante pick that I can't find as easily later and my team ends up being stronger overall by by going with
13:04receiver over Javvante in reddraft. In baseball, it's sort of the opposite thing where we're we're more confident about being able to find receiver
13:11production that slots in your lineup automatically um than finding that like usable uh running back production.
13:22And we have like dude, we have we do we we understand that Javvante Williams is a fragile play. Like we like
13:31I'm telling you we understand like we do not think Javante Williams is some like ultra safe non dead zone type of
13:38profile.
13:40>> We all realize he's disgusting. None of us actually want to click him and we have that baked in and that he's still
13:46like one of our highest exposure players in that at three four turns.
13:51>> Yeah, that that's the thing. Like I'm I promise you we all think Jiovante is disgusting and then we and then as that
13:59we put in things we stand behind and the Sims are like pretty good pick.
14:04So I think he's a pretty good pick.
14:07I yeah, I think that this is like you said, it's a classic best ball versus reddraft and it's also just based off
14:13the 2026 running back landscape where we don't have a lot of good exciting rookie running backs to bet only with, you
14:22know, upside uh that could have their roles increased throughout the year. So maybe in a different year when we have a
14:29more exciting rookie class, maybe even if we had the same inputs for Jav Javvante, maybe he still wouldn't pop as much. But you really do need to The Sims
14:39just seem to really love the hyperfragile running back build and really wants to target running backs early this year because they're really
14:46is not much later in drafts.
14:49>> Yeah. Yeah. And I think I I've talked about this uh over the summer, but like when we get into, you know, preseason
14:56and we get we have a better sense of who some of these RB2s, I think that could shift a little. I mean, last night I
15:01drafted a BBM. I I went Bowowers and uh in the second with JSN and then uh ended up going true zero running back where I
15:12did not have a running back through the first five rounds. And it was a fun it I've done that. I think I I forced like
15:20one IKB to make that happen, but only one. And uh it was a lot more fun to build that team than when I did this. I
15:30kind of forced a zero running back build with the sidekick like a month ago. This one was a lot easier. like I was able to
15:36get um you know enough running back production and then add on add on like a Kron Allen you know like I there's a
15:44there's a couple guys now in the late rounds that are you're starting I'm starting to feel like a little more confident at least have
15:52like it's not you're just pretend you're not just telling yourself like this guy has a path you know like I think he like
15:58we don't know for sure with Kron but I I am starting to feel like yeah he he has a path I think uh we'll we'll more as we
16:06as camp goes on. But, uh, you know, when we feel more confident in a variety of bets down there, that's sort of part of
16:13it. It's kind of like it's one thing if there's like one or two guys we like late, but if there's a bunch of guys we
16:20like late, then we have more confidence to push running back because, you know, you're going to find some production later, even if you get sniped a couple
16:27times.
16:28>> Yeah. I think that we're now up to just off the top of my head roughly like four or five running backs that were like if
16:34I need a running back in the last round I can tack them on between like Lloyd um kind of Jaden Blue and um Kron Allen.
16:44Now now we have a couple where you see them pop a little bit more while before it was just one the Sims are just like
16:51it's not even guaranteed they fall to you. They really aren't a good bet as is. But now that we have like a couple
16:56of them, they're starting to starting to come up now.
16:59>> Yeah. Telling yourself a story based on reality, not a fairy tale. And then yeah, just just reaching that critical mass where it's like I was talking to my
17:06brother, he's a Vikings fan. He he used to write for Roivis a little bit too.
17:10And um we were just talking earlier today. We were talking about Deont Claybourne and I was like, you know, he's like kind of intrigued by Deon
17:18Claybourne. I was like, he's not a very good prospect. But I was like, you know, the thing is if you build a team that's
17:23good and you get to the 18th round and you want to take like it's like Elijah Serat or De Man Claybourne, like I I'm taking
17:33Serat, but like if you are like I'm taking Clayborn. I don't think that's bad. Like I don't know what Deont Clayborn is. Like he could be a hit. I
17:42think it is bad though if you need Deont Clayborn. Like if you if you like have a build that requires Deon Claybourne to
17:49be anything more than like a oh maybe he has one week that that would be cool then I think you've built a team that is
17:56just going to be too weak at running back cuz he's just not like he is a low probability bet based on the prospect
18:03profile his size you know he might pop for a week or something because he's fast but but that's that's that is partly why we like Hyperfragile
18:13this year is like it is hard to find.
18:15There are some bets down there, but they're they're almost indistinguishable from like those wide receivers you're hoping are are hitting your lineup once
18:21or something.
18:23>> Yeah. So, basically, we're taking Javvante at the 34 turn instead of, you know, taking these, you know, praying
18:32for these zeros from De Man Clayborn.
18:35>> Yeah. or like building our portfolios around, you know, and we like we have Aaron Jones, but like I think if we
18:42didn't take Javvante, we would have a lot more Aaron Jones. We'd have a lot more Jordan Mason, a lot more Chris
18:49Rodriguez, a lot more I mean, we have Rashad White, but we'd have a lot more Rashad White.
18:55Those are also like those fragile ass profiles and not particularly high upside profiles, right? So, I think that's part of it. Like when we had like
19:06Chase Brown, you know, in the double digit rounds, we liked Rico Dael back when he was at like 120. We really liked
19:13Rico Dout back when he was like 120 when he was on the Cowboys. Um, those types of guys aren't really available this
19:22year. I mean, I guess you could argue like Mason or Jones could be this year's Javvante. I I suppose that could be
19:28true. We do take both now, but uh they're both kind of like uninspiring veterans as well.
19:38Can confirm have 24% Jones. Oops. Yeah, but like I don't want I [laughter] mean I have I I'm in the teens on Jones, you
19:46know, but it's about not just like what the other running backs cost, but like what the other profiles at running back
19:53are.
19:54And a lot of the upside is priced up this year.
19:58>> Yeah. And like again, we we all recognize that Javante and Aaron Jones, they are disgusting clicks and we have that fully baked in. So, I'm going to
20:08trust the math on that one because they're just being priced down because the entire market doesn't want to click them.
20:15Yeah, that's where like if we had a set of Sims that were telling us to slam zero running back, I would be more skeptical of that than the
20:25current Sims that are telling us not to slam zero running back. Although there is some zero running back builds that we'll we'll find right now with Top Guy,
20:34but um it's not super common and it's a lot more common that we're seeing the hyperfragile or more of a balanced
20:40build. And it's like that's not my gut instinct on this stuff.
20:46But this is now our second year doing this simbased process. Last year we had really strong results.
20:52I feel pretty good about our process. I think we've gotten better at it. And I I I'm pretty confident that the the
20:59current ADP landscape makes balanced and hyperfragile and those type of builds pretty good builds right now. Maybe that changes. I would be I would prefer if it
21:08changed cuz I think it'd be more fun this year if like 2026 was like the year where August was actually flipped to
21:13zero running back. We built like completely different teams at the end of the year. Like that'd be really fun for me. I kind of doubt it, but it it's
21:20possible. It would just depend on we'd probably take some injuries and some some real chaos to unlock some really different bets than we have now. But,
21:29you know, it's a chaotic league, so we'll see.
21:32>> Yeah, we haven't had any. We were doing a big rankings update last night and there just hadn't been much news much.
21:40There hasn't haven't been any major injuries yet. So, the rankings are just kind of static for the most part except a couple, you know, injury thing like uh
21:49neighbors and kiddo things, but a lot just hasn't changed recently. I saw that there's a question about how our our strategy has changed from the beginning
21:59of the off season to to now. And you've touched on the three quarterback versus two quarterback thing a little bit. That
22:07that to me is more probably about 20 rounds versus 18 rounds and just having the schedule, but I I really haven't
22:14seen that much changing in the Sims in dramatically in terms of roster construction um so far.
22:21in terms of the three quarterback and the two quarterback.
22:24>> No, the the question was just what changes in roster constructions have you seen from the beginning of the offseason to to now? Um and if anything has really
22:33changed throughout the offseason.
22:37>> Yeah, I think that the three quarterback to two quarterback is one where we have seen just like slight tie breaks a
22:44couple different times like when we didn't know when the by-weeks were. um you know, the potential for guys to to share by-weeks and we had like a little
22:54bit less confidence in certain uh injury recoveries and and stuff. We've we've moved towards two quarterbacks as we got
23:03basically more confidence that guys like Daniel Jones and Patrick Mahomes were not going to miss big chunks of the season and then uh where we were not
23:14having to guess at the by-weeks and potentially have overlapping buys. Um, and then also moving from 20 rounds to 18 was another inflection point from
23:26pre-draft to postdraft. And so sort of along the way, it's never it's never been a dramatic shift, but it's something where like, hey, I'm used to
23:35seeing like Kyler Murray ahead of this wide receiver and now he's behind.
23:40Interesting. You know, like Kyler's still second, but he's not the the number one recommendation now. So that's that's probably the biggest one I've
23:50seen. I haven't we like as of now I would still say, you know, a balanced approach is is kind of the the most
23:59common build. Um hyperfragile is a very common build. We haven't seen zero running back really jump is like a super common build, but I mean you're I guess
24:10you're seeing more of zero running backs through three rounds than we were uh earlier in the summer. I would at least
24:17anecdotally from my my memory of it, I think we're seeing a little bit more of that.
24:25>> Yeah. And like along those lines, there's a question, aren't the Sims only as good as the inputs? I mean, like,
24:31yeah, that's kind of the point and why we spend all this time getting good inputs so that way the math can do the
24:38math and give us winning teams.
24:43>> Yeah. And I So, a couple things on that.
24:45one, we keep updating the inputs. So, like we're doing like we are going to be there's going to be a day that we like
24:52have our worst day of inputs and our best day of inputs and we're trying really hard to make, you know, the
24:57inputs better all the time, but uh as we get more information and we we have our our ear to the ground on all this stuff.
25:05Uh but you know, we're running new sims as we get new inputs and uh you know, so yeah, but ultimately, yes, like we need
25:13to be on top of all of these inputs. Uh the nice thing about uh this SIM based process is it does give you a a big edge
25:23in terms of okay, here's what you think.
25:27Now, what do you do with that information?
25:31And I without SIMS there's a lot of error in that second part of okay you think all this stuff you're correct but
25:40then how do you deploy that information in draft rooms and people make all sorts of errors and the Sims help us avoid
25:49basically improperly uh deploying what we what we have as our inputs. Like everyone has inputs and then they're drafting off of those inputs, whether
25:57those are in their heads or rankings or whatever else. The Sims are helping us take our inputs and accurately create
26:06good teams based around what we think is kind of kind of one way to put it.
26:14Uh couple questions from Sean Seagull.
26:18Uh questions around what Sean Seagull recently quoted. Uh, he said Travis Hunter is sitting at 60% advance rate pricing, baby.
26:27>> Music to our ears.
26:28>> I [laughter] mean, and thoughts on both.
26:31I'll give you my thoughts on that. Hell yeah. I [clears throat] didn't mention uh Travis Hunter is one of my highest
26:36drafted receivers because he wasn't over 25%, but he's at 23%. So, I got a bunch of Hunter. Uh, so that would be great
26:43for me. R.J. Harvey is my third highest or my fourth highest drafted running back uh now, but at 16% on RJ Harvey, so
26:53would be very happy if he ends up being a big hit. And I'm at uh 10% Dobbins.
26:58So, the quote about Harvey and Dobbins being discount Camaran Ingram sounds pretty awesome.
27:05Uh I I'm writing up the sophomore running backs and made me a little bit more bullish on R.J. Harvey as I dug into some of the
27:13stuff on uh like Gibbs and some of these other running backs have actually been pretty boom bust in their rookie seasons
27:21as far as their rushing goes. Making some of these guys have made big improvements in year two, like big time success rate improvements. And Harvey
27:30was a good prospect. I I was a little worried he might be kind of boom bust a little bit like bounce it outside type
27:35of runner, but I think he has the potential in year two to to improve. And frankly, even if he doesn't in baseball,
27:40I think he can pay off his current ADP and and just be kind of an explosive uh you know, receiver and and runner.
27:48>> Yeah. And I'd say with our inputs, we're being extremely fair to Harvey and that I would say my natural reaction would probably to be
27:59honestly have a little bit higher inputs than we do, but I think our inputs are are right now. um and that we're being
28:05really fair to Dobbins to having a a good role and yet we still get a lot of both of them. Uh we got a lot of Harvey
28:12in that we are expecting Dobbins to come back >> healthy despite his age despite the injury and Harvey still pops a lot.
28:21>> Yeah. and and he pops on certain types of builds, you know, more in like the marathon, uh, a little more in the eliminator and
28:28that kind of thing, but he like the 10% I I cited there is in BBM. So, we and Dobbins is a guy when I talk about like
28:37one of the ways the Sims helps is like here's what I think and now like help me build good teams.
28:44Here's what I think on Dobbins would have led to me fading Dobbins. Like even though like that's wrong like I I'm
28:52like here's what I think about Dobbins and the Sims are like Dobbins is a pretty good pick especially on these types of teams and but what I would have
28:58done is gone here's what I think on about Dobbins and that means don't draft him. He's too expensive and he's I he's
29:04not too expensive given the other options that you have at running back.
29:08He's not a jam but he's like a perfectly fine pick where he goes on teams that need a running back in that range. So,
29:16uh, just one of the, to me, he's been the type of player that would be a blind spot without the Sims, I think.
29:23>> Yeah, Naylor could be a smash at EDP for sure. You must not be using the sidekick much then because I don't think I've
29:32clicked him once. [laughter] >> Yeah, we're not we're not in on Naylor.
29:36I He's a guy we could we could shift on.
29:38That would be one where like we will be updating Naylor if he's putting together a really strong camp and and looks like
29:44the top receiver there, but it looks like it's probably Tucker who we draft some of. We drafted a lot of Tucker, but
29:50he moved up so we we get him less now.
29:52Um and so yeah, I mean it's like probably the number three target with not full-time route participation because I think he's mostly a slot on an offense
30:03that's not going to pass the ball a lot.
30:05So, we haven't been taking a lot of Naylor, but if we're wrong on uh on him versus Tucker, then we would we would
30:13maybe get more later. Were the Sims updated with Randre puking? They were not. We did not uh put a puke doc in. We
30:21could we could do that later. I'll I'll talk to the guys and see.
30:24>> We could add a little puke tag next to the uh the teammate correlation.
30:30>> Nice.
30:31um recommendation for wild ales in Ocean Beach. Thank you. I'll try and check that out. Uh joking about uh Eli Sters with Greg
30:42yesterday being a power twink uh and you know that potentially helping him get on the field that that power ability. Um he
30:52was wor this this uh Mr. Moves here is worried that he's not going to play this year. he's going to be maybe in the red
30:59shirt situation. I still think we do see Sters as the second round pick, you know, towards the end of the season.
31:07What What are your thoughts on Sters?
31:10>> I I think that we have it built into this is where we don't think he's going to play much early in the year and we
31:16think he's going to play towards the end of the year because he's a second round pick who catches passes and like the
31:22Eagles obviously knew he was a pass catcher coming out. like that's why you draft him. So, they probably had a plan
31:28for him. Obviously, they still they have got her for the year. Maybe this is just the succession plan, but you figure they
31:35want to get him involved at the end of the year to see what they have going on.
31:38Like, I think we're we have pretty modest inputs in terms of how much we expect to see from him early with low
31:45floors and he still comes up a decent amount. We were definitely higher on him earlier in the year um until we got a
31:52lot of these bearish quotes and we've come down since then, but we still get a decent amount and I think it's right.
31:59Yeah. I think one way to think about these best final round picks is like you're you're doing waivers.
32:07you're doing waivers for like the whole year, you know, and like you don't so you're like who might be a good pickup
32:15in week 10, you know, like who am I who am I like thinking, yeah, that's a great guy that I'd spend like 250 bucks on in
32:25week 11, [laughter] you know? That's kind of the the thing. And isn't someone that I'm like never even once considering spending money on all
32:36season.
32:37Um, like I think there's like a pretty decent chance that you at least are thinking about adding Eli Sters and and
32:43a solid chance that you're not just like adding him for a dollar in in FFPC leagues. You're you're like going hard
32:50like, "Holy [ __ ] Eli Sters is available in this league." Obviously, that's tight end premium, but you know what I mean?
32:54Like there's that potential for like, hey, if he starts to matter, does he like matter? and that being really
33:05powerful if you get a few weeks in the end of the season at a lowscoring position. So yeah, we're also worried he
33:12doesn't play a ton this year, but uh he could he could have some impact if he does, especially at the end of the year.
33:19Uh where you >> trying to hop on the uh the Coler Express, >> right? Right. You could always hop on the Colar Express instead. Uh Ridley and
33:28Judy, we've been taking more Ridley.
33:31What are what are your thoughts on those guys?
33:33>> I mean, again, this is one where it's like they're both growth clicks. I think that we have the inputs, right? We got a
33:39lot more ready Ridley than Judy. Um Judy's quarterback situations really up in the air. They both have rookie competition um coming in with Tate
33:51versus Conpsion and Denzel Boston. Uh Browns probably have a little bit more runheavy of approach. Um, but I'm just letting the math speak for
34:02itself right now. And we got more Ridley.
34:05>> For me, I think what we had with Judy last year is he just he 1.02 yards per route run in a situation where he really
34:13should have been the clear clearcut wide receiver one and it just kind of cratered. So you have him coming off
34:22that season after 1.72 yards per hour run in his first year in Cleveland. You have Ridley. He's been a 1.86 and 1.89
34:32since joining the Titans. It's been pretty rough from like an expectations versus reality with, you know, situation with Ridley. But I think when you're
34:42down there and you're like, who can actually give me some production over the course of the year? I have more confidence in
34:49Ridley. I I don't even know what Judy is anymore. Like, it's just been so bad.
34:53They have Fannon and Conpsion as guys who I mean Fannon we know can play and he earns targets at a high rate
35:02shallowly. So he kind of sucks target share out of the offense a little bit.
35:06And then Conpion has a potential to be a Yak guy too. So in a not great offense there's two guys that I think might have
35:14higher target shares than Judy there.
35:17And then he also has to deal with Denzel Boston and maybe his routes ultimately come down by the end of the year where
35:22Ridley like Tate is I like Tate, but he's not like I don't think they're going to be signing a bunch of like screens and kind
35:31of get the ball in his hand type stuff for Tate. It's more like real big boy routes for him. And uh I think Ridley
35:38profiles is is their number two outside wide receiver probably. Maybe Wandell's ahead there, but at the very least in 11, you know, Ridley's going to be
35:48playing outside. He's been efficient.
35:50Uh, despite a pretty bad, borderline awful situation in over the last two years. So, yeah, for me, I like Ridley a
35:58little bit better. It's just the receiver I have more faith in uh at this point. They're both pretty gross. I mean, Ridley's going to be 32 in
36:05December. He could he could be nothing, but he's at a price where, you know, if he's like three weeks of production, you feel pretty good.
36:17Uh, let's see.
36:19What do you think of the Dell or the the Texans wide receiver with Dell not starting a pup and null on the NFI list?
36:27Um, we can't talk about the CJ Stout video because that's for ADP chasing.
36:34the um with Dell I feel like so we were originally pretty hot on him like above market I mean uh then we started to cool
36:43off just a little bit because we were getting a lot of Dell and we're like let's take a break like maybe there's a
36:50chance this guy doesn't really ever come back and it's like a career ender. Um I we haven't fully adjusted anything based
36:59off this news yet, but we we've definitely been discussing it and we might come up a little bit. Um still definitely a very low floor play. We
37:07don't know there's a difference, you know, between return to play and return to performance which I think the market gets wrong a lot and that explains a lot
37:14of the injury uh discrepancies we have.
37:17Um, but it certainly looks like the return to play on Dell looks pretty positive and we have some room to come
37:23up in which case he could become a very good click if we do like we could get a lot of exposure to him if we nudge up
37:29even more.
37:32Yeah, I think Dell might be an amazing click, but we're kind of like was he like this is one where we've shifted and
37:39you know, we're we have incomplete information on all this stuff like everyone else, but we're trying to, you know, as we get more information,
37:47adjust. And with Dell, we were feeling pretty good and then it looked maybe a little bit more bearish in terms of
37:53where he was and how much how far back he had to go. Um, but now, you know, things are actually looking a little bit
37:59more bullish. So, we're like we're continually adjusting on on this types of type of stuff where uh the goal is to
38:07be more right today than we were yesterday and and keep doing that until week one. Um running back prices in general are
38:18reflective of the lack of upside late and less reflective of the profiles in the early running backs. Yeah, I think that's generally true. Also, wide
38:25receivers have a lot of upside late. I I heard uh someone say it's it's escaping me now, but that Travis Hunter is at 60%
38:32advance rate pricing. Did have you heard this, dude?
38:35>> Just click him every time.
38:37>> Yeah, man.
38:39Um how are you pacing right now in your BBM contest? I'm I'm about halfway through.
38:45I I uh I have 80 left in this is uh now I have 79 left because we just entered a BBM uh in in in BBM and I'm I'm at more
38:57like 50 done on the DK flagship. What about you?
39:01>> I'm definitely behind on those. I I've had a very busy couple weeks at at work.
39:06So, um it's going to be picking up or I'm going have more free time now in August. So, I'm definitely going to be
39:12hammering them a little bit more now.
39:13I'm probably like a third of the way through both of them. We'll see if I end up maxing both of them. I I've
39:19historically put in like 120 entries into both. Uh because I prefer other formats a little bit more. Uh but obviously they're a lot of fun. So it's
39:28hard to sit them out more than that. Um but I definitely want to max the eliminator because I think that's a
39:35format where we have a lot of edge in.
39:36So I'm I'm around like 600 drafts right now. We'll probably got up got up to around a thousand.
39:43>> Nice. Um, let's see. We We're about to be on the clock. I'll throw Amman Taylor in. Taylor goes. So, I'm Amar's the the
39:51click here. Um, and then there's a question from Rickadoozel saying, "Given the bevy of contests likely to be available to us
40:01over the next month, what type of contests would you suggest for those with a budget constraint, those with a time constraint, and those trying to
40:07squeeze out EV uh, and won't touch grass for the next four weeks? Could reverse engineer this by saying which contest you recommend avoiding for the grinders,
40:14and then filter back up." I know you've done some contest selection stuff. I will note that Shady Advice chimed in saying, "I think this is likely a good
40:20spot for a reminder that there are likely much higher return on your money over four plus months that you could be
40:25doing for most people. A lot of what you are getting out of is hopefully the draft and/or inseason sweat entertainment. My general rule for DPS
40:33players is to avoid any contests where the payout to first is more than 50% of your bankroll outside of the most casual
40:39GPP on the slate. And if you were truly grinding baseball with a bankroll, my advice would be my advice would end up
40:46pretty similar. Uh I assume he meant DFS, not DPS. But yeah, >> the other contests I tend to avoid are
40:56where first place does not pay out what my bankroll is for best baseball that season. For example, if you had like a I
41:05don't know, like a $10,000 bankroll for the season, I wouldn't really want a first place prize that's less than 10,000. It just seems weird to me to
41:12bank a tournament and then like potentially not even break even. So, that's like a rule of thumb I have. Um, DraftKings has like 15 to 16% rake. So,
41:22unless if you're getting using their promos, like it's pretty hard to justify that rake. Unless if you think that like drafting at 2 am on DraftKings in August
41:30is more plus EV than 10% RA underdog.
41:33That's like another thought. Um yeah, I otherwise I think that contest selection is like pretty personalized in terms of you if you prefer upside versus uh you
41:45know a more conservative approach. Like I personally uh don't always max BBM because I like the other contest a little bit more. Um,
41:53so those are a couple thoughts.
41:56>> Nice. Uh, here's a question that relies on your, uh, medical expertise here. The combination of injury, the combination injury of ankle plus tibia/fibula
42:06has caused a lot of disappointing fantasy seasons over the years, uh, following the injury. Scatteraboo and Judkins are both coming off this injury
42:12this year, and I've had a hard time clicking either of them. And I'm much more comfy clicking Swift, Toutin, Irving, and pretty much all the other
42:18running backs on this range. the same injury that Pard Prescott, Andrew Godwin, Pacheco among others have had.
42:23While I'm not going to have absolutely zero of them, I'll be significantly underweight and uh have only taken them if they fall significantly past ADP.
42:29What is your guys' view on this injury?
42:31I feel like uh I might be slightly double counting since it's already baked in to some extent. Uh but also comfortable with the idea of letting
42:38these guys beat me.
42:41>> Um so this is coming from my I'm a interventional radiology fellow, not orthopedics. I'm not a physical therapist, so I don't actually deal with
42:51these injuries, but I do diagnose them.
42:54Um, uh, so I don't, you know, have, but we we do research these injuries pretty extensively whenever we're putting these inputs for specific players. And I would
43:04just say that there's a very small sample of NFL players at skill positions when you're dealing with those kinds of things. So, I'd be a little bit careful
43:13with that, especially when in fantasy football we're dealing with a ADP market where price really matters. Like those guys could have been good picks at worst
43:23prices. It's hard it's hard to say unless if you're really looking into those in detail. Um, but yeah, we were initially pretty skeptical with a good
43:32amount of injury risk on both of those players with lower floors and some mis time potentially. And we've increasingly have gotten a little bit more confident
43:41with the news that we've seen. And I'd say that's like one of the areas where following the news and the reports is
43:46pretty important in terms of their recovery timeline. Um, and we definitely have those floors baked baked in.
43:55>> [snorts] >> Yeah, I've also seen some stuff where let me see if I can pull it up, but there was there was one uh like I think
44:04there is some nuance to these injuries as well where they're like literally not all the exact same injury. Um but I'll try to pull that up because
44:15there was a someone who actually knows what they're talking about saying saying that. So if I can find that I I'll share
44:20it. Um, >> they're also young, so that really helps. You know, >> it does.
44:29Uh, question from JT Tyler regarding neighbors. The meme is always the news isn't priced in, so wait and draft that player lower. Well, in this case, the
44:37news wasn't priced in except the news was that he's not on PUP and likely healthier than we thought. Should we start pricing in more upside to
44:43offseason injury news regarding the timelines?
44:47Um, I'd say that this is one that caught us caught us a us a little off guard where this is definitely new news to us.
44:55We did not have it baked in that he wouldn't start training camp on pup. Um, we we had a big adjustment last night
45:01where we did update it a little bit.
45:04>> Um, but I I still don't think it's for sure that he'll start in week one. And again, going back to return to
45:11performance versus return to play, it could look very different for um a clearly complicated ACL where he also had meniscus dam damage where it
45:21required a delay in surgery which delays your rehab and then also complicated by the cyclops lesion which required a second surgery. So, we definitely
45:31weren't expecting a smooth recovery for him. So, we were caught off guard by the fact that he's not on pup. Um, and it's
45:39definitely something we're still working through. Um, but I'd say that he's he's not going to be 100% healthy expecting a neighbor's projection
45:49in week one. It's going to take a couple of weeks. Does he ever get back to it this year? There's a chance that's not
45:54until 2027 still. Even if he's playing in week one, there's a chance he's not himself until 2027. Um, so that's kind
46:01of where the SIMS approach with a range of outcomes is really helpful for pricing these uncertain situations.
46:10Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Uh, that that is one. It's like hard for me to It's not that we were saying we should price an
46:21additional downside cuz the market's not uh it it's like we thought that based on everything we were hearing that he was a
46:30lot more likely than the market thought to start on pup and ultimately start on pup to begin the season and that if that
46:40happened he was his price was going to drop a lot. However, I was saying that, but the Sims were also telling us to take some of him, and
46:50I was talking about that how like I'm not full fading him now, but I do expect that we will get cheaper prices later.
46:58And so, we didn't and we are and we we're not going to get significantly cheaper prices than we were anymore because I think even if he falls, it'll
47:06be from like a higher ADP. So he the stuff I was thinking maybe he goes five six turn right if he's goes on pup. I
47:13don't think he's going to go on pup anymore. He could still miss four plus games but I don't think it will be on
47:17the pup list. Um and so I don't think it'll ever be that cheap. But it was also a thing where like the CLV is what
47:25it is. So I we weren't like fully chasing that CLV either. And I think I'm at like 7% neighbors right now. So it's
47:32not something where I, you know, was going ham.
47:37Like I can have both an expectation of where the thing is going to land, but then that doesn't necessarily have to
47:41drive everything about how I'm drafting, which is again >> also goes in a range where there isn't much resistance. Like you could easily
47:50have any of these players flip back and forth up until like pick like 28, like right around where McBride goes. I'd say
47:57uh like the Bree McBride range right after that that you you can have these players jump around a lot. Like we've
48:02seen Zay Flowers come up with like no news. Um so yeah, I'm definitely expecting neighbors to rise a little bit just because the market thinks that this
48:13wasn't priced in now it's good news. So he's naturally going to rise. Um and we've adjusted our inputs a little bit
48:20and right around the three four turn like you were saying is kind of where we thought he was going to be like fair
48:25value. It seems like by the Sims even if we thought he could fall further.
48:28>> Exactly.
48:29>> So you can Right. So that's like a spot where like I might IB off neighbors a little bit. Actually I I wasn't really
48:36doing this but like certainly I could have if I'm like no I want cheaper neighbors but like you know a lot of
48:41times you know I'm drafting in like these contests that are time boxed. So like am I going to get cheaper neighbors
48:46in that contest? No. You know so uh that doesn't even really make sense in all cases depending on which tournament you're in. Um,
48:55and yeah, you can it's like how much do you want to bet on on potentially things changing because you can kind of like there we don't have
49:05that baked into the Sims. Like if he goes on pup and the market freaks out and his ADP falls then what do we do?
49:11Like that's not in there. So uh you know that'd be more like do you want to move off what the Sims are saying to get a
49:19little less neighbors which I wasn't really doing. Um, so yeah, we don't have an overweight position on neighbors, but not really a big fade either.
49:29Uh, ultimately one where I I mean it's like at the right it's you're happy to be wrong because it means neighbors is
49:36going to play more this year, which is fun, but it is a spot where we were a little bit too bearish as it turns out.
49:42Uh, wanted to just share a question and answer um from the Discord question on the Sims. If I IB to a player that is not
49:52being recommended at all, but is still reasonable ADP, do the Sims readjust their expectations for that player? Do the Sims then assume that player is
50:00going to meet ADP and give you your future suggestions based on that? Or do they stick to their original assumption on that player and give you
50:06recommendations still assuming that was a bust pick. I'm not sure it's a simple either or answer. Just generally curious on how the Sims react to when you IKB,
50:16especially for when it's a player that's not listed or at least not near the top.
50:20And then shady advice answered, "The Sims themselves don't change, but the seasons you make money would once you have the player. So unless you take a
50:28player that's way out of ADP/LGUP ranks, you'll get what you intended by taking them. They are now on your team and you
50:36do well in the seasons they that they do well."
50:41A helpful helpful answer from the Sim Wizard himself. I realized a uh interesting wrinkle in this draft. Um so I'm actually on call tonight. Like I'm
50:52on call right now as we speak for uh my fellowship. And so while we might if we win a million dollars in this draft
51:00right now, while we wouldn't become the first uh millionaires even in this stream, we would be the first basketball millionaires
51:11um that's potentially saving life during their draft. So, >> wow.
51:15>> That that could be an interesting wrinkle if I get called in.
51:19>> That is uh [laughter] you you have a sidekick and I am your sidekick in this in this scenario as well as you and you are someone's
51:29sidekick [laughter] from a medical perspective as you save their life.
51:34>> Corporate uh Sam Sherman would be very uh triggered by that. [laughter] Uh, so we have uh six players on the
51:44squad so far and now we have seven because I'm taking Randre Stevenson in the seventh. We're looking at Drake May at quarterback, Devon Achan, Travis
51:55Etien, Bucky Irving, and Randre Stevenson at running back, Aman Ros.
51:59Brown, and Lad McConn at receiver. Uh I assume this will be a hyperfragile team.
52:06Uh where we have three running backs through five here and then we probably stop at four. Although we did first running back in the 17th, second in the
52:17so in the in the middle of second, second in the late third, then the late fifth and then the late seventh. So
52:26could end up being a five running back build depending on how things turn out.
52:30Josh DS currently top guy, then Dak Prescott, then Alec Pierce. DS goes, which is a big old bummer. I was hoping
52:38he'd get back.
52:39>> Looking pretty pretty good for DS right now. This setup >> it it is. Pierce goes. So, this will be Dak as the quarterback, too. Uh,
52:50pass ADP by about eight picks.
52:58All right.
53:01The Sims probably get mad if you ignore their picks and feed you Xavier Worthy.
53:05Is that the your explanation for why we like the Chiefs? That the Sims are mad at you? [laughter] That's I like that theory. Sims are mad
53:12at me so they gave me Xavier Worthy.
53:16>> That'd be better if it was like Skymore.
53:19>> Uh >> UIKB. Okay, we give you Sky more. Yeah, Purple Yosh saying this would be a full circle moment for me if you save
53:27someone's life during the you know because uh because of the guy dying during the final. Well, that's not even true. I mean, this would be just this
53:36would be a pattern. This would become a pattern of [laughter] I win money when people's lives are saved.
53:43>> He has his uh his tree of baseball millionaires on his show. You have your tree of people dying whoever work with
53:49you. [laughter] Well, no. I mean, Demar Hamlin did, you know, he had his heart stopped, but he is alive and and well, right. The
53:59medical the medical uh field's ability to save lives would then correspond correlate highly to my ability to win money in baseball, which
54:08I I mean, that's there's better there's worse things, right? [laughter] Like I only win millions when someone's life is saved. I'll take it. [laughter]
54:18>> [gasps] >> Uh let's see.
54:29>> Have you sims have access to your portfolio? Does it consider based off your exposure certain nudges? Uh shady advice chiming in. We don't have access
54:37to your portfolio. Does it violate our stance on data privacy? We only have access to your exposures if you upload them and that's not full teams. That is
54:44an important thing. We we have some um diversification elements built into the ways sidekick the psychic recommends players, but that's not diversification
54:53off of what you've done. It's you're getting a diversified uh approach in the sense that we're giving you players at a frequency that
55:02the Sims think is a good frequency to take them, but it's not because of how much or how little you personally have
55:09taken them in the past. And I have bad news. The Sims are mad at us. They're making us take savior worthy.
55:18>> Have you um to give some people a peak behind the curtain from last night, we we've already been as generous as
55:25possible to Coloulston Lovelin? Like more so we've made more excuses for him than like any other player that we've done. Have you been seeing him at all
55:34anymore after our rankings call last night?
55:38I haven't done a ton of new drafts since last night where I, you know, uh I'm seeing I have a lot of slow drafts going
55:46and they're mostly past that range. So, I don't know um if we're getting a ton of I I doubt we're getting much more,
55:54but yeah, I don't know yet.
55:59He's probably looks like he's popping.
56:04>> A systemic issue with the the late round tight ends just being so good.
56:09>> This is one of those things where top guys is helpful, I think, where I've so I've got Romeo Dobs. You can see I'm at
56:1516% Doss. I'm 21% Conceptsion. These are guys at IKB a lot, too. Um, but Wandale I think is also a good pick. I'm at 8%
56:24on him. And while I think I want a good amount of my teams in this situation to have May with dos,
56:34I don't want all of them to have May with Dobs there. And so, um, you know, it's nice to kind of mix that
56:42up where the correlation is built in.
56:46Do is simming better than he would if I didn't have May, but that doesn't mean he's always the right pick with this
56:53build. And that kind of goes back to your like your classic example of um who was it? Justin Jefferson and um who who
57:01was the rookie that you you picked over Justin Jefferson in like most of your drafts, >> right? Raer and reddraft. And I was
57:09>> you know both in in Dynasty and Rager was going ahead of Jefferson in Dynasty.
57:13So I just I got a bunch of both of them.
57:16>> Realistically, you probably would have wanted like I don't know 60 40 RER to Jefferson or something like Yeah. So, not only are the Sims um kind of
57:25randomizing that a little bit for you, but in this case, like say you preferred one over the other and you get the cor
57:31the correlation boost to like tell yourself a story like every time with May I'm going to click dos and then you
57:37forget about it. But no, the Sims like help te take care of that randomization for you.
57:43>> Yeah. And it's like you often go, you know, you have these these guys, right?
57:48and you're like, "Let me go see the teams with that guy. That guy's crushing. It's week six. That guy's just like he's had yet another awesome game.
57:56What What teams do I have with this guy?
57:58I'm going to go start kind of poking around what I got." It's like for some reason all my teams with this guy have
58:03this other guy who sucks like, you know, and you kind of because you can sort of end up building in similar patterns with
58:11players that you like. And not that there won't be overlap sometimes, you know, even with the teams that we're building building with the sidekick, but
58:20there, [snorts] you know, it's not, it doesn't feel good when you're like, "Yeah, that's right. I built all my team like all my like Dobs was a huge bust
58:28and it's really hurting my May teams, which has never happened for me with a Patriots wide receiver. To be clear, this would only be a new thing for the
58:35first time. I've never [laughter] once drafted a Patriots wide receiver at a high rate when I was right about May."
58:42>> [snorts] >> uh Daltton Concade is top guy.
58:46So, we've got him. We're now at four uh running backs, four wide receivers, two quarterbacks, and one tight end. Uh Jake Ferguson go. So, we're going to
58:57looking reasonably uncorrelated on this one with the quarterbacks. May has Raandre. Maybe we end up with Hunter Henry. Uh Dak probably unstacked. We do
59:09have uh there's really not that much correlation. We have a potential for Shakir and Concade as a combo if he gets
59:19back because he's currently top guy, but we'll see if that happens. [snorts] >> There's a question about um if you prefer slows for if you do if
59:28you prefer fast drafts for BBM instead of slows. Uh >> I do. I I do my same I don't do any BBM
59:35slows. I don't I plan to do none. I like to do them all fast. BBM is like, you know, that's I enjoy it. I jump in, I do
59:43a BBM. It's like a my 150 BBMs I kind of cherish and I I I like to >> like a little treat. You want to enjoy
59:51>> a little treat. Yeah. I want to enjoy it. So I >> You want to get lost in like 350 slow
59:56puppies and then like not enjoy that moment.
59:59>> Exactly. Exactly.
60:01>> I usually use my slow quickly too.
60:04>> Yeah. Yeah, that too. I use my slow drafts for like puppies and like the low dollar contests and I try to keep the
60:11contest I really like like eliminator BBM um anything higher dollar to fast drafts.
60:19>> Yeah. Why did it recommend Concaid over Ferguson when you have Dak? You want to take >> most money >> it makes the most money in this set of
60:27sims. So in in at some frequency you would have Ferguson over concaid there like in if I had the different sims
60:36there would be different sets of sims that would where I'd have Ferguson over concade there but when you're you're getting a slice of the all the sims that
60:44we've run some of them are going to have Concaid is a better pick than Ferguson even if you have Dak um because sometimes he is [laughter]
60:55right like that's sometimes it's better to have concade even if you have Dak Prescott. Uh so that's >> and we get a lot of Ferguson. So I'd say
61:06most of the time you're probably getting Ferguson with Dak and this is just one where you want to randomize it a little
61:13bit and switch up the pairing.
61:15>> Exactly.
61:16Exactly. [snorts] >> Gretch did about 20 minutes on Neil Orfield's show on Ridley. Was it positive or or negative, Spelowski? I I
61:28didn't catch that.
61:36Um, let's see. Fur getting getting mogged by Florenoi. Oh, baby.
61:42Uh, we're not so sure about that considering we're like low market on Florenoi.
61:49>> We get a little Florenoi, but not a lot.
61:51Um, >> we get more Floreninoi than uh Naylor.
61:57So, I'll give you that.
61:58>> That's true. We get more Floreninoi than neighbor Naylor. Um, all right. Why won't you let us take more Bowowers Bowowers, you cowards lovingly? Yeah. I
62:09mean, if you want to IB to Bowers in the second round, I you know, certainly I've done it. I have done that. We follow ADP
62:19fairly closely. Not entirely obviously, but you know, there's a decent ADP weight in the early rounds as those guys tend to be pretty good picks and it's
62:30not generally a spot unless someone's just an egregiously bad pick where we want to get super super offm market there. Um,
62:39>> two other thoughts on that >> is, um, one, Bower is just like in ADP, he kind of is, he is the tiered break
62:48basically in my opinion or like right around it. Like you have Brown and London right ahead of him and then um
62:55like maybe would argue uh Nico or something like that should also be in it. Um, but yeah, following ADP right around that tier break. Two would be
63:05just like the late round tight ends. we we really like. So the Sims might sometimes prefer that. And then three, uh McBride you can get on the turn in
63:13the in the third round sometimes. So or almost all the time now. Um so it's like what what do you prefer? The pairing of
63:19like AJ Brown and McBride or Bowers and uh I don't know who was there, George Pickkins or Devonte Smith or something
63:27like that.
63:31>> Yeah. Yeah. I mean that's that's definitely part of it with the McBride fall. Um, but I do I do to me like in
63:39the second round if you're like I want to build a portfolio that's overweight on a second round player at like a pretty
63:48high rate then like cool like you know like do do that if you want to do that and then you can
63:57always go to following the sidekick more closely after that like stuff like that where you're like I you know I'm going
64:04follow the sim recommendations actually pretty closely, but I think you guys are really wrong on this one player and I'm going to take a stand on that guy that
64:13like uh I mean it's your teams. Do whatever you want, but like that that seems totally reasonable to me.
64:21Uh so Florenoi does not jump to the top here. We are not going to have a Dak stack. However, we did get Hunter Henry
64:28as our tight end too with Drake May. So we've got a pass catcher there along with Randre Stevenson. We're currently at Drake May and Dak Prescott at
64:36quarterback. Devon Han, Travis ETN, Bucky Irving, and Randre Stevenson at running back. Ammon St. Brown, Lad Mcconkey, Xavier Worthy. The Sims are
64:45indeed mad at us. Juan Delale Robinson and Omar Cooper. And then Daltton Concade, Hunter Henry, and Jawan Johnson at tight end. Florenoi is top of the
64:53sidekick. If he gets back to us, that would be about 16 picks past ADP. So, we'll see if that actually happens. It does not.
65:01He goes right now. Um, and then Jeremy Bernard, our guy Jerry Judy, who we talked about, and then Calvin Ridley.
65:08So, so, uh, Judy, you can see him at 5% on. Ridley 22%. So, we do prefer Ridley as I mentioned earlier, but not
65:16completely out on Judy.
65:17>> Maybe we'll add, uh, running back five with, uh, Jaden Blue to give us our Dax stack. can >> that would be full circle after being we
65:26were the biggest bears on blue in the market last year if we can win a couple million with that.
65:32I I love Davis, but there's so many people out there who think the sidekick love Jaden Blue because he uploaded Jaden Blue uh custom ranks that were
65:42just I believe I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think it was literally just boosting Jaden Blue and all the Chiefs
65:50and then proceeded to draft a bunch of Jaden Blue at the sidekick. But we ourselves were not particularly interested in drafting Jaden Blue. the
65:58only fifth round rookie ever to be drafted 100% of the time in BBM uh with not very good results. Uh and yeah, we
66:08we sat that out ourselves.
66:10>> But uh >> don't tell don't ask us which Cowboys running back we were drafting though. We won't tell you that information.
66:16>> He was cheaper than Jaden. I'll tell you that.
66:18>> We won't tell you we weren't drafting Jaden [laughter] Blue.
66:23>> We weren't drafting Jamonte. We did draft Miles Sanders, but he was cheap.
66:26He was free. Okay.
66:2818th round picks.
66:30Uh yeah, we we didn't get that right, but we didn't get it as wrong as we could have.
66:38Let's see.
66:42Did Dubs mention he's a medical guy? He did indeed.
66:46>> I am. Yeah, >> I am the doctor.
66:52>> Chris says he posted reposted a question in Discord. Okay, we've seen a video of Tucker Craft jogging and he went on
66:59training camp PUP. Nobody has seen a video of Malik Neighbors running and he's reportedly not going on Camp Pup.
67:04Is that about health or is that about how teams use the Camp Pup to create more 90man roster space in Dubner's
67:11estimation? And how much credence should best ballers give to that information?
67:18>> Um, sorry, I was not listening at all.
67:21What was the question? [laughter] I [clears throat] was just clicking through some slugs sled drafts.
67:30>> We've seen video of Tucker Craft jogging and he went on training camp pup.
67:33Nobody's seen a video of Malik Neighbors running and he's reportedly not going on pup. Uh is that about health or is that about
67:41how teams use the camp pup to create more 90man roster space in Dubner's estimation and how much credence should best ballers give to that information
67:50>> with craft?
67:52I mean, we've been low on the market on Craft and it's probably injury related.
67:56So, you know, it's it's hard to know what the market is always thinking, but I think that the market seems a little
68:02too bullish on Craft's health. And, you know, again, return to player versus return to per performance. He could definitely be a big hit, but I think it
68:12could be a little rocky for Craft to start the season. Um, and like with the pup versus no pup for neighbors, like I
68:20don't think craft [clears throat] going on pup is uh unexpected to us, but him going um it's, you know, how we would expect and
68:31he could still play in week one, for example, potentially even if he's on pup right now, but it would have been new
68:35news to us if he was not on pup and that would have been uh pretty bullish for him. Um, but yeah, teams definitely take
68:43it differently. We were definitely surprised by neighbors not going on pup.
68:46So, um, but you would expect that if a team is concerned at all about a player, they would just put them on pup because
68:53there is very little downside.
68:56>> Some of the downside is like you are limited in what that player is allowed to do and participate in. And I think
69:01that that is probably what's driving neighbors not on pup where they want to basically be able to kind of ramp him up
69:08without like worrying about restrictions on what he's able to do with the hope that he is in fact ready to play very
69:16early in the season. and you know certainly before week five where one of the advantages of putting a player on pup is then that allows you to not take
69:26a 90man roster spot and then also not take a 53man roster spot by leaving them on pup and then they have but then they
69:34have to miss the first four games. So, I think they're hopeful that Neighbors does not miss four games. Even if he
69:40misses some games, it's not four. And uh with that, you know, with that being their thinking, they then don't want to
69:49deal with having like restrictions about, you know, okay, we're going to take him off PUP now. They're just like, let's just not have him on PUP and we
69:57can kind of do whatever we want with with him having an active roster spot.
70:01So, that that's my read on it and and that's obviously more bullish than what we thought uh heading into camp because
70:09I thought he would go on pup. Uh it certainly indicates that they think there's a good chance he avoids pup for
70:16the regular season. It's not a lock I would say. I mean I guess he'd probably go on IR now, but same deal. Like he
70:22could still miss four games um even by avoiding pup, but certainly feels like that is not what they're expecting.
70:33You know, maybe they're wrong, but it's not what they're expecting.
70:42>> The Bo the coaches have a bunch of fourth round neighbors. Do you think that's why >> they're all slamming him in desk?
70:52>> I keep getting this question. I'm not sure if this is the same uh commenter from yesterday, but who do you think
70:58scores more points, Bree Hall or Bucky Irving? Bree Hall. [laughter] It's like uh Bree Hall is the answer that I give you.
71:10>> He's spamming every YouTube chat just trying to get >> I honestly thinks that's what's happening. [laughter] >> Marshon Lloyd is is top guy here giving
71:20us that fifth running back for cheap, which I you know I was talking about.
71:24We're seeing that like a little bit more now, but not enough to where this is actually exactly what I was talking
71:29about later was like, hey, you could take Marshon Lloyd. Do you need Marshon Lloyd?
71:36I don't think this team needs Marshon Lloyd, but he's about as valuable as like Chris Brazzle, so we can tack him
71:43on. And we didn't spend a ton at running back early.
71:46So, this is this is where I feel like the state of the late round running back dart throw is right now. There's more
71:52guys that you can take like you would take Chris Brazzle, but there's not like enough yet where like that's the core of your room, you
72:02know, or at least like a big chunk of your room. It's more like one dart throw type vibes. Is that is that where you're
72:08at as well?
72:10>> Yeah, I think that it hasn't even really changed us going hyperfragile as much. I just think instead of like a traditional
72:18hyper fragile where you have like four running back early and then stopping it, just like tax on this fifth flyer because there are slightly better bets
72:25now rather than adding like a fourth tight end. Like I've been seeing that a little bit less and getting the the
72:30fifth running back instead of a hyper fragile.
72:34Yeah, that's that's a good point because this this team I would say, you know, is like probably hyperfragile would be the best
72:43way to describe it, but it could you could just Yeah, I'd probably call it hyper fragile. Would probably be the simplest way to describe it. I was going
72:49to say balance, but we didn't take our wide receiver three till the ninth, so that doesn't really apply. But we end up
72:55taking four running backs through seven, but only two running backs through four.
73:01And so as far as the draft capital that we spent at the position, I think we were fine to add a fifth running back in
73:08the 18th round. Nothing nothing about that seems like an overspend there. And to your point, it's just like, okay, it's it's flyer time. Who who are the
73:19most interesting flyers? And and Lloyd pops a little bit more than we would have had back in May. [snorts] >> It's very much just like a luxury a
73:27luxury pick there.
73:29>> Yep. thoughts on taking Garrett Wilson when you already have Bree?
73:34Uh, I'd be fine with it, but it'd be more about like in order for that to happen, uh, we were talking about either a
73:42really nice value on Bree and like like a really nice value on Bree and a pretty good value on Wilson or like a normal price on Bree and a
73:53really good value on Wilson.
73:55So I would not like take I would not skip Wilson falling to the to the 410 because I had Bree seems good actually.
74:05It's a bet on the Jets which how could that go wrong?
74:10>> Seems good.
74:12>> Seems good. Betting on the Jets always good. But yeah, I mean you're betting on it's a clean bet. You're just betting on
74:16the Jets. You got their top two guys.
74:18You got one at a pretty big discount in order to have them together. So I I would be fine with that.
74:26question about Alec Pierce and if it's a tail debriement. Um, yeah, probably speculative. That's definitely a possibility. But like we kind of talked
74:38about earlier, we've been low man on the Marquel and Pierce and we've come down even more with the more bearishness on
74:44the the injury news. Um, and it's just all good for for Downs and uh Warren who we came up a little bit on.
74:52>> Yeah, we came up on Warren as well.
74:53Yeah, we did.
74:54>> We're still not really seeing him, but he's just awkwardly priced, I think, in this market. So, we're pretty high on
75:00Warren in in the inputs, but we just don't get him.
75:03>> Yeah, we didn't get him here right at 606.
75:07Um, yeah, I think it's just like one of those things where this team, we had two wide receivers through five, and my recollection is we
75:16were seeing a lot of the quarterbacks pop uh there, and it's like, yeah, get the quarterbacks. What can you get later? When is when do things start to
75:26uh you know dry up at the various positions? And there's tight end production that you can get later and it's past where like the way this type
75:36of team comes together, right? We got a running back mostly taken care of. We take one more in the seventh. The next
75:42one's in the 18th. So, we're sitting out those middle rounds at running back. We kind of need the like uh you know the
75:51the ninth and the tenth and the 12th here. Those were like really important receiver picks that doesn't get in the way really of
75:58tight end as much because we got Hunter Henry, Jawan Johnson there. So getting these quarterbacks taken care of while the quarterbacks are like really good
76:06picks in that range I think structurally makes sense. Um, it's one of the thing like with the hyper fragile builds I I feel like you
76:16get you'll sometimes be like, "Yeah, all right. I'm going to reach I in my head I'm like, "Oh, I'll reach for, you know,
76:25Jaden Higgins." Like, nope, just take quarterback. You'll find another receiver later, but be really strong at quarterback in addition to being strong
76:30at running back, which is how this one worked out.
76:35But Tyler Warren you can find at least the Sims seem to think you can find versions of later um that are strong.
76:46>> Yeah. Fannon. We like Concaid. We like Ferguson. We like Kelsey.
76:52Uh we like Goddard a little not as much but when he falls we like him. And then we like these guys like Hunter Henry.
76:59Jawan Johnson. Sadik now priced really well. We do take some Gadston still.
77:04Daltton Schultz, we love Greg Doulich if he falls a little bit. AJ Barner, we like Gunnar Helm, we like Kate Aton, we
77:12like Pat Farouth, we like TJ Hoginson, we like some like we're pretty into the tight ends by
77:19and large, you know, 13th round plus.
77:24>> Yeah, speaking of question is what are your thoughts on KD for week one? I mean, we've come up a lot on KD's odds
77:32to play early in the season, like way more than we would have expected um I'd say a couple months ago, um given the
77:40positive news. So, we've definitely been reacting to that news, but we're still pretty nervous about his return to performance relative to the market. Um
77:50I'd say definitely early in the season and even potentially late in the season.
77:54like he still is a 30-something old tight end coming off an Achilles. Like I don't want to um kind of brush that off.
78:01Like he's going he's starting to get pretty aggressively priced. Um so we don't really draft him much but you occasionally see him because there are a
78:09couple of set subset of Sims where he does you know return to performance pretty uh pretty quickly. So we've come up on him a little bit but he's still
78:18pretty big fade.
78:21>> Yeah. And I think, you know, just talking through this like how much of the KD has been a guy I've been thinking more about like
78:30for FFPC with the Titan Premium and, you know, being reddraft where like you got to pick the guys to start. I've been
78:38thinking about him as maybe a better pick there than I was, you know, originally thinking because it does it does bullish in red. Especially after
78:48like, you know, his second week back, you're like, "Oh, it's KD. I want to start him every week." Or you're going
78:53to be like, "Oh, no. This was a bad idea to take a 33 year old off in Achilles."
78:57I feel like we'll know pretty quickly.
78:59>> You'll know pretty quickly. And those kind of more binary uh bets that resolve with you like feeling confident about what to do with the player in your
79:06starting lineup are just better reddraft bets. So, he does feel more reddraft because he's he's expensive enough to where if he's not like he's priced as a
79:16as a tight end that needs to contribute like a lot throughout the whole year or you're going to be really annoyed that
79:24you took him instead of getting like Pat Farmouth or Kotten or AJ Barner or Terrence Ferguson or TJ Hawinson who all
79:32went in the 16th round here, you know, like a 16th round >> right near Fannon now. It's kind of crazy. [laughter]
79:39Yeah, like he could he could have dramatically underperformed Fannon if he's not, you know, back to what he was, which yeah, he's an old dude coming off
79:48a torn Achilles. Like he it could be over.
79:52There there's worlds where we're like, "Oh, you're someone drafted George KD in this room in 2027." We're like, "Oh, okay." [laughter] You know what I mean?
80:02Like things get bad for the older players. We never seen George KD not have it. He's never not been George KD.
80:10Um, but you know, when a player actually plays post a bad injury, our perception shifts pretty quickly. So, that's that's kind of my thinking with KD. Like,
80:21because we've never seen it, it's hard to imagine it and we don't want to imagine it because it'll be a bummer if
80:25he's not himself.
80:27But, I think you could see like you could see yourself cutting George KD by like week four and reddraft, right?
80:34>> Yeah, for sure.
80:37That's a risky place to be in the 10th round in baseball, I think.
80:43But yeah, um hopefully I'm wrong. You want to be wrong on this injury stuff because it means we have more fun
80:48players in the league. But but that's that's what I'm thinking right now with KD. I like him more than reddraft. Um
80:55all right, I'm going to uh call it here.
80:57We're going to sign off. I got ADP Chasing over on the ship chasing channel here in in about five minutes. Uh
81:04appreciate all of you watching.
81:06We will be back. I'll be back with Sam Sherman on Thursday for That's Fair. Uh until then, thank you so so much for
81:14watching. I'll also note uh real quick that ship chasing tomorrow. We're going to have Gretch on. Excited to talk through uh you know where he's at on a
81:23lot of these players more for reddraft, but uh that'll be really fun to kind of get his thoughts. It's been a while
81:29since we've had the Gretch download on chip chasing. So that'll be a really fun episode. Looking forward to that. I had
81:34an article out on uh Saturday that I I hope you guys check out on the rookie running backs for best and I'm working
81:40on one on the sophomore running backs that I'll have out soon. Uh yep, check it all out. Check out the kickstand and
81:46the sidekick. Both available at legendaryupside.com. Kickstand now part of the base legup tier sub. Includes the notification sound and these tags that
81:55you're looking at on the sidekick.
81:57Does not have dynamic rankings, but you have the ability to upload custom rankings and then it auto updates the legup rankings. So quite a useful
82:02tool to have available for just 15 bucks a month or 99 a year over at Legup. The Sidekick is the upgraded subscription
82:10tier there which provides you dynamic rankings. The year round sub includes playoff baseball and pre-draft baseball as well as all of summer. Uh check it
82:19all out. legendary.com/sidekick.
82:22Thanks for watching. See you later.
