Aaron Rodgers

PositiveProjection0:03

Rodgers may become closer to a top-15 quarterback in the bottom half of that range in 2026, as he's more comfortable with his new offensive coordinator and the veteran receivers are a better fit for his play-calling adjustments and line-of-scrimmage audibles.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:03

Rodgers benefits from a better offensive coordinator than Arthur Smith and veteran receivers who understand his play-calling adjustments and subtle audibles at the line, which suits his strengths better than younger receivers.

Insight page

Brandon Aiyuk

NegativeBust0:12

His career in the NFL is essentially over due to self-destructive social media behavior and ongoing conflicts with the 49ers organization and teammates.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:13

The 49ers would like to release him; he has issues with the organization and is attempting to force the issue by showing up at camp to claim guaranteed money already paid.

Insight page
NegativeBust0:14

Scout Scott McLuhan warned the 49ers to stay away from Aiyuk due to reliability concerns from his Arizona State days, noting he was a 'wild card' personality-wise with discipline issues and unpredictable attendance at the facility.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:14

Herm Edwards warned the 49ers that Aiyuk was unreliable regarding facility attendance and had discipline issues as a personality concern at Arizona State.

Insight page
NegativeBust0:14

Aiyuk is burning bridges with the 49ers through his behavior; he may have one more good year left but will likely continue problematic conduct with any new team and eventually be discarded.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:15

Aiyuk has derailed potential interest from the Raiders (with GM J Peters and Jane Daniels connection from San Francisco), and the situation is deteriorating with no agent representation currently.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:16

Aiyuk fired his agent about a week ago and has not filed for reinstatement with the league since being placed on the did not report list; the 49ers are reportedly pursuing his guaranteed money due to his failure to attend rehab.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

PositiveProjection0:31

Caleb Williams' lower completion percentage last year should not be a concern; he was in a new offense and threw the ball away frequently to avoid interceptions, a smart decision-making process that will improve as he becomes more familiar with the system.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:32

Caleb Williams demonstrated strong fourth-quarter performance and comeback ability last year, showing understanding of when to avoid turnovers and keep the offense in the game—a critical skill many young quarterbacks lack.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:32

Ben Johnson's process with Caleb Williams started with wanting him to complete 70% of his passes, and the process is ongoing with the team heading in that direction, representing a consistent rise.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:32

Ben Johnson set a goal for Caleb Williams to complete 70% of his passes, and the process is ongoing with a consistent rise expected as Williams becomes more familiar with the offense.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveUsage0:31

DJ Moore was not always on the same page with Caleb Williams in the new offense last year, contributing to some of the quarterback's completion percentage issues.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveRole0:28

Dallas Goedert is identified as the number two trusted target for Jaylen Hurts in the Philadelphia offense after DeVonta Smith.

Insight page

David Montgomery

PositiveRole0:06

David Montgomery is the feature back and focal point of the offense, brought in to establish a more smashmouth running game after the team's inability to run the ball in the playoff loss to New England.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:07

David Montgomery at running back 23 is great value, offering solid running back two production with weeks that have running back one upside, similar to Joe Mixon's first season with 10 points per game.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveRole0:28

DeVonta Smith is identified as the primary receiver Jaylen Hurts will trust in the Philadelphia offense, positioned as the clear number one target.

Insight page

Dont'e Thornton

PositiveBreakout0:17

Thornton is more likely a third-year breakout candidate than second-year, as he's working with coach Drew Lieberman this offseason and has shown improved camp performance, but his route game and separation still need development.

Insight page
PositiveDepth Chart0:18

Thornton is likely competing for the third wide receiver role with Jack Bes in the Raiders pecking order and should make the team but is not expected to move up significantly this year.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:18

Thornton averaged 13.5 yards per catch in his rookie season on 10 receptions for 135 yards, showing limited early production.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper0:18

Thornton is a dynasty league hold with low expectations; the opportunity exists with no crowded logjam of talented receivers ahead of him, making him worth waiting on long-term.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

NegativeRole0:23

Emanuel Wilson still looks a little bit behind in terms of what he needs to do, potentially losing out to George Helani for playing time.

Insight page

George Holani

PositiveBreakout0:21

George Helani, an undrafted free agent, has a legitimate chance to become a fantasy option in 2026 and is trending up in ADP; he's a better player than Kenny Macintosh with good catching ability, contact balance, and movement skills.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:23

George Helani is currently available at running back 73 with the 277th pick (20th round in best balls) and is trending up in ADP with a clear path to workload compared to other running backs in that range.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveRole0:29

George Kittle is expected to benefit from the San Francisco McVey Shanahan-style offense under new coordinator, as tight ends have historically thrived in that scheme.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:29

George Kittle will benefit from increased motion and misdirection in the offense, which will free him up as defenses pay attention to other receivers and schematic movement.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveRole0:23

Jadarian Price is expected to get more trust with the team and prove things as George Helani fills the running back role until Zack Charbanet returns.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveValue0:09

Javante Williams is going at cost as a tail-end or second-half running back two, and if he continues to get the red zone work from last year (when he finished RB12), he will remain super dangerous.

Insight page

Jaylen Wright

PositiveValue0:23

Jaylen Wright might have some value at some point but currently lacks a clear path to workload compared to other late-round running back options.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:23

Jaylen Wright might have some value at some point but does not currently have a clear path to workload like George Helani.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

PositiveProjection0:29

Justin Herbert's uneven OTAs and mini camp reports should not be a concern, as he is learning new timing and precision in the quick passing game under Mike McDaniel's adjustments to his footwork.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:30

Mike McDaniel is working on adjusting Justin Herbert's footwork to get the ball out quicker, focusing on the first couple of seconds to two and a half seconds, where he is most effective.

Insight page

Kenny McIntosh

NegativeRole0:21

Kenny Macintosh lost the running back three competition to George Helani in recent years and is no longer the preferred option at that position.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

PositiveProjection0:09

Kyle Pitts came on late last year with Kirk Cousins as his quarterback, but Cousins is no longer there, raising questions about whether Pitts is just getting started or facing roadblocks ahead.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:10

Analyst is 'feeling it' on Pitts despite QB change, noting he's only getting started at age 25 and has had different QBs/systems throughout his career, suggesting upside ahead.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:11

Kevin Stefansky's scheme is designed to take advantage of tight ends, as evidenced by his success with David Njoku and Harold Fanny Jr., positioning Pitts as an equally talented weapon in the offense.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:12

Priced at tight end 5-6 this year, not elevated from last year's finish, and may end up being a bargain if he continues to play at the same rate.

Insight page

Mike Evans

PositiveProjection0:24

Mike Evans is dominating in the red zone in practices and is being drafted as a wide receiver 3 (round 4-5), but his historic average output has been wide receiver 1-2 except in injury years. The analyst believes expectations are too low and he's a great play at current cost.

Insight page

Myles Montgomery

PositiveDepth Chart0:20

Miles Montgomery, signed to the most expensive rookie UDFA contract on the Patriots, could wind up as the running back three based on his talent and could surge into competition for that spot.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

PositiveRole0:33

Bateman is the best route runner and most dynamic athlete among the Ravens' receiving options, and the team still has faith in him to be wide receiver two in the offense with potential for WR3/WR4 with some big games in fantasy.

Insight page

Terrell Jennings

PositiveDepth Chart0:19

Terrell Jennings is locked in as the Patriots running back three role, primarily due to his special teams excellence rather than his running back talent.

Insight page
PositiveDepth Chart0:19

Jennings appears locked in as the Patriots running back three based on recent reports.

Insight page

Woody Marks

NegativeRole0:05

David Montgomery is expected to be the feature back, with Marks relegated to receiving work out of the backfield and return game duties, indicating the team found limited value in him as a primary ball carrier despite an extensive run last year.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:05

Woody Marks will not have weekly fantasy value in 2026, according to Matt Waldman's assessment.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:07

Woody Marks is going as running back 70 in drafts, offering contingent upside as a late-round pick if Montgomery gets injured.

0:00Good morning everybody. Welcome to the Feel It [ __ ] podcast. I'm Bob Harris.
0:04I'm here to feel things. Matt's here to him. Uh Matt Walin. You can find him on XMattwin. I'm at football die
0:10hard. Find both of our work right now at football guys rankings articles. Uh tons of great stuff. Gut checks are going up.
0:17Uh recent Rashad White reflecting my own very views that I shared in a fantasy notebook. Read all those articles.
0:23They're available on an ongoing basis.
0:25Catch my Hashi Seat show. Also, uh, starting Monday 76 today, uh, football dieards, Mike Dempsey and me are back on
0:35SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio every week night, 8 to 10. Uh, so check that out.
0:40You'll probably run across Matt Walman there on occasion as well. Uh, otherwise, there's probably some stuff going on at the Rookie Scouting
0:47Portfolio that people need to know about.
0:50>> Yeah, I guess so. you know, I'm uh you know, no, seriously, if you haven't gotten your RSP yet, time to do it. Um,
0:57you're going to get, you know, awesome cheat sheets in terms of, you know, where you should draft these rookies and depth chart analysis
1:07in terms of, you know, which guys contracts are going to be up in terms of, um, their competition. Um, obviously the most comprehensive scouting reports
1:19that you're going to find anywhere. Um, and then if you're looking at uh wanting to do projections and do dynasty rankings, well, I offer that service as
1:27well. That's a separate service. You're going to get over 300 players ranked and um really win now and long build formats. So, you get two different type
1:37of format rankings um and you know, commentary with each of those and projections for every player. Um, so it's something that, um, I think you're
1:48going to find really worthwhile. You can find over at mountwaldman.com.
1:53And, uh, I'm starting to work on 2027 prospects as we speak. So, um, working towards that. I've made some changes to
2:02my evaluation process. Nothing major.
2:04Um, just some small little things that, uh, that, um, that I think will be helpful down the line. And, uh, yeah,
2:12you can find it all at mountwaldman.com.
2:14and I find it there often. Regular reader of all those materials have been a rookie scouting portfolio since the day it first came out and uh totally
2:24co-sign on any good thing you've ever heard about that has probably been understating it uh because we all don't want to sound like ass kissers totally
2:32but honestly if you're going to kiss ass over something this would be the product. Also, another great product, uh, the Football Guys
2:41draft guide. It's like it's like a magazine except more. A great article by Matt Wman on setting yourself up for a
2:47strong endgame in your drafts. Tons of other great articles, rankings, projections, uh, collector's item worthy stuff. Go order that at football guys as
2:55well. Now, let's order some people to be felt and [ __ ] Uh, let's start with Mr. Aaron Rogers. Uh, could we be
3:02looking at like I don't know call it a rebound, but a better 2026. Feel it or it?
3:08>> I'm feeling it. I think it's because he's comfortable with the offensive coordinator he has. The offensive coordinator that he has is better than
3:16the one that he had previously who's been notoriously bad Arthur Smith with using personnel based on their strengths and weaknesses and just kind of saying,
3:28"Here's my offense. Figure it out." you know, I think that's kind of um you know, Smith has been very dogmatic about
3:35his offenses. So, I think that and then the the receivers are a better fit for what Aaron Rogers is going to look for
3:43in terms of veterans who understand that, you know, plays can be changed at the line, that there will be adjustments, that there will be subtle
3:53things that Aaron Rodgers does well that maybe younger receivers aren't quite as good at doing. even though they may be more physically capable than the than
4:04the older guys, you know, in certain aspects of receiving. So, I think that this team is going to be a smarter team
4:10and as a result of that, Aaron Rogers um strengths are probably going to come to the forefront more. Does that mean he's
4:18going to be a high-end fantasy option? I doubt it. Um, but I do I think that he may become closer to top 15 quarterback
4:28in the bottom half bottom end of that than he was last year.
4:32>> I think that's all fair. He's spent a lot of time with Mike McCarthy. Very familiar with him.
4:37I will say my recollection is that probably some of the sources who were badmouthing Mike McCarthy towards the end of his run in Green Bay probably had
4:48a Rogersesque uh shade to the some of the comments.
4:52The complaint was he, you know, was kind of phoning it in and not going, you know, not putting in the effort, etc. We
4:58saw him go to Dallas, ran a successful offense there. I expect the same here.
5:02You know, familiarity does not doesn't always breed contempt. Sometimes it breeds success, right? It breathes, you know, I'm comfortable and familiar with
5:10this offense. I think the receivers will help as well. So, I'm with you. I kind of feel it and I think you've hit the
5:15right range as well. Here I am just being Matt Wman's yes, man. Let's try this again and go with Woody Marks will
5:21have weekly fantasy value. Feel it or it. I'm just picking the other side just to pick the other side.
5:26>> I see. Well, according to the the indicate the indices over here on my on my right. Yeah. See, he even knew that I
5:35was talking about him. Not that we've ever heard indices before. I've never even used that word out of my mouth. But
5:41he knew knew I was talking about him, so he's given me the stare. Woody Marx is no. [ __ ] that. I think that I think that
5:50David Montgomery is going to be the feature back. We've heard that talked about in camp. It makes sense that he would be. He's a good receiver out of
5:57the back field. Markx may get more touches out of the back field as a receiver, but the added role is going to
6:04be return game, which tells you right then and there that that the added role is is we got to find something for your
6:12ass to do now that we've upgraded our our back field here. Um, you know, Markx Marks could be a valuable play if David
6:20Montgomery gets hurt, um, or starts to, you know, has some issues with wear and tear where they need to beef up the the
6:28carries for Marks, he can be serviceable, but they gave him an extensive run last year and realize that he's not really the answer either.
6:36Montgomery will be the answer this year, >> right? It became readily apparent in the playoff loss to New England that their
6:41inability to run the ball was causing them tons of problems in terms of not keeping the pass rush honest, etc. They
6:48just couldn't get anything done. I think that they decided that that's why David Montgomery's there. uh he is going to be
6:54the feature back. Aaron Wilson, same guy who wrote about the Woody Mark's you know latest story the week before his writing about David Montgomery being the
7:03focal point the key piece in the mind of coaches uh for this offense which they wanted to be more smashmouth I think was
7:09the word they used and that they also suggested they think he can do everything including catching the ball.
7:16So Woody is going as uh running back 70 right now very late in your drafts perfectly fine for the contingent upside. Um but David Montgomery at
7:25running back 23ish to me that's great value. You're going to get a solid running back two with weeks that that have running back one upside. Think
7:33about Joe Mixon when he first came there running back 10 in points points per game that season. He's going to get
7:39those opportunities and what he does with them. We shall see. Jaden Blue. You know, I like Jaden Blue because he's very fast. Uh me and Brian
7:48Shottenheimimer have a problem with his Louis Vuitton cleats, the ones that gave him blisters last year and he had to leave practice early. That was probably
7:55indicative of the bigger issue for Jaden Blue last year. Uh sounds like he's sounds like he's starting to get it anyway. Some of the more recent
8:03comments, uh Jane Blue will turn a corner in 2026. Feel it or [ __ ] it? I'm feeling it. Mainly because he himself
8:10said, "I really didn't have the maturity or understanding of what I needed to do last year as a professional and I
8:17figured that out." And you know when you're usually when a player talks about his
8:26previous immaturity, especially a young guy in a in a sport where people don't like to show that kind of vulnerability
8:35in terms of their games. When some when a player is comfortable enough to say, "Yeah, I this was on me and I I had to
8:44figure some things out." Um that's a good sign, right? So, I think Jaden Blue is in a position to become the aspiring
8:53Austin Eckler that he's aspiring to be, which means that he's going to make a a running back, too, and eventually we
9:00might see him in the pole position um by 2028, 2029, if it continues to go in that direction.
9:08>> Yeah, they gave Javante Williams a what, a three-year extension, but I don't think anyone expects him to to to last,
9:14you know, the full full length of that.
9:16I'm with you here. I think, you know, again, I'm using my Sesame Street uh induction laws here of fantasy. One of
9:22these things is not like the other. He is Jaden Blue is the outlier here in terms of skill set, the shiftier,
9:28speedier guy, the receiving asset. Um, so yeah, I'm I I I totally agree, but I think, you know, still Javante Williams
9:34going at cost right now. He's tail end or a little second half running back too. I think you for a guy who finishes
9:41running back 12 last year. If he continues to get the red zone work that he got last year, he's going to continue
9:46to be super dangerous. But there, but it's not a zero sum game in this case.
9:49If Jaden Blue can come in and make some plays, uh, I'm with you. He may have some value. I've been drafting him very
9:54late in draft. I think it's perfectly fair. Uh, I haven't been getting a lot of Kyle Pitts this year and, you know,
9:59coming off a massive year. I mean, if it were not for Trey McBride, Kyle Pitts would be the only thing we'd be talking
10:05about at that position.
10:06um uh came on late with Kirk Cousins as his quarterback. Kirk Cousins no longer there. Uh is Kyle Piss just getting
10:14started or are there roadblocks ahead for him?
10:16>> I'm fe I'm feeling it. Even though you could say the quarterback situation might feel somewhat like a roadblock, but Tua Tong Valoa is an accurate
10:25quarterback within the ranges of the um field that he can throw. And Pitts, if you look back at his career, understand
10:32that he's pretty much had a different quarterback almost every year that he's played. He's had a different system or or a bad system in almost every um
10:42iteration that he's played in. Um and people were like, well, when's he going to when's he going to do what he did in
10:48year one? Well, year one was the last time they had some sort of cohesion as an offense with Matt Ryan, who was kind
10:55of fading at that point, but still a decent player. Um, I think that Pitts is, you know, at 25, you still have a
11:04lot. He has still has a lot in his favor. It's a position that takes some time to learn. He's, if we were going to
11:09say that he came into the league at 22 instead of what, 20. Um, this would be his third year. This is when people
11:17would expect him to have gotten some things together. And I think that you can give him a couple year mulligan considering that Arthur Smith and
11:24Desmond Ritter were parts of his um formative experiences in the NFL. I think he is only getting started.
11:33>> Yeah, I would tend to agree with that. I think I think you know you can add a little bit to that. I I think probably
11:38people you know and probably because I I like to do it uh some people will tend to overplay the quarterback situation. I
11:44think every year we have this conversation where less than ideal quarterbacks don't mean less than ideal production for the top weapons on a
11:51team. I think Pitts is one of those top weapons. I also think uh Kevin Stfansky has shown he knows how to use a tight
11:57end. His scheme uh takes advantage of him. David Njoku, we can go look at Harold Fanny Jr. last year. I think Kyle
12:03Pitt's equally talented and probably uh capable of doing some really great things in this offense. So I'm with you.
12:09I think he's probably priced about right. He's not priced up to last year's finish. He was he's running about like tight end five six right this year. Um I
12:18think that might end up >> Yeah, that's a fine price. Might even end up being a little bit of a bargain
12:22if he continues to play at the same rate. Uh Brandon Aayuk uh the spiral continues. Uh it's hard to uh remember the last time I
12:32saw such a self-destructive effort uh by a single individual using their social media. Well, I probably seen it a lot. Um but only paying
12:41attention to because >> Antonio Brown has been memory. Huh.
12:46>> Yeah. But his well his has not been as much social media as real life, right?
12:49Like >> he's out shooting people. I don't know.
12:52Uh Rand and I like you know had been talking up uh you know commanders are my next team. He's got issues with the
13:0049ers. They would like to release him and if he shows up at camp he can certainly force that issue. They're going for his guaranteed money that they
13:06already paid him. uh he's he's making some really interesting comments about about John Lynch showing up at his doorstep and scaring him all kinds of
13:16things. But then uh most recently he started going after Jane Daniels, the guy he wants to play with and and that
13:23doesn't seem to be going well. Is his career in the NFL essentially over? Feel it or [ __ ] it?
13:28>> I'm feeling it. And I'm also would be feeling the conspiracy theory that the uh practice facility at the 49ers has
13:35some sort of electromagnetic type of issues that is causing wide receivers to lose their minds. I mean it even way far
13:42back as to because didn't he go after quarterbacks that he played with o over and over and over again. Um >> that's his quarterback. He always try
13:51and treated him very nice.
13:52>> Yeah. Okay. So I Yeah. I mean we can go back to you know Scott McLuhan had some interesting thoughts. the former scout
14:00who picked Frank Gore and and a lot of built some of the 49ers back in the early 2000s in terms of building that
14:06roster and then being in Washington and you know the Diana Rousini ex-wife or current wife um social media stuff aside with him you know you can go look that
14:18up if you want entertainment like that um but you know I I would say McLuhan's a trusted voice in terms of
14:25understanding how the NFL works and and some players to stay away from. And apparently he warned the 49ers that Aayuk was a player that they might want
14:35to stay away from mainly because the the reports from Herm Edwards was that we didn't know when he was going to be at
14:43the facility at Arizona State when he wasn't. Um and that he he was a real wild card personalitywise, discipline
14:50wise. Um and so reliability was not a big factor with him. and there we are.
14:58You kind of look and see what's going on with him. I think he's pretty much burning the boats in terms of his uh his
15:06opportunities to to he's just kind of burning bridges, I would say, more than anything. Um and I he may have one more
15:14good year in him, but his but if a team takes him after what how he's behaved, he's going to think he can continue to
15:21behave this way. Um and and so he's going to behave that way with whatever team signs him and then he's going to
15:30get dumped at the side of the road and at that point it's going to be too late for him.
15:34>> Yeah. I think I think the athletic beat writer Nick Valla kind of wrote about this a little bit that they're there was
15:40a point where maybe they were interested, right? And and that he seems to have derailed that there probably not so much. uh the GM there knows those
15:48from their time in San Francisco. J Peters uh is familiar with them and that seemed to be like the that and the Jane
15:55Daniels were both considered the connection. So So yeah, it seems like uh that's all going by the wayside. So I don't know someone like someone's always
16:02going to take a chance on players, right? But we'll see if they win this guy.
16:05>> I was going to say who's his agent, but he does not >> he doesn't have one at the moment.
16:09>> Y >> Well, he had one but he but but he didn't listen to him and he fired him I think like a week ago. he's still got to
16:16do like he hasn't filed for reinstatement with the league since he's been placed on the did not report or retire list whatever. Uh so there's a
16:24lot of steps he hasn't taken part in. Uh you know the one thing that he could do to force his release is show up for
16:29training camp. If he starts practicing he runs the risk of being injured and the 49ers on the hook for all the money.
16:35I know the local reporters there, Matt Mokco, suggested this from NBC Sports that they were going to go after all his
16:42guaranteed money that they paid him uh because he didn't show up to rehab and things like that. So, uh so yeah, this
16:48is not a great situation for him at the moment. And we'll see if he can turn it around and get like Josh Gordon kept
16:54getting chances, right? I mean, like people are going to get chances. Um but I don't know how many Brandon I will
16:59get. So, I'm not going to say he's done playing, but I don't expect to see >> Josh Gordon didn't behave like this. No,
17:05he didn't. He was It's pretty self-destructive. Dante Thornton, uh, the Raiders, uh, tall, fast wide receiver. Is he worth monitoring this
17:15season? Is this is a second year breakout possible, Field or [ __ ] it?
17:18>> It's possible. I would say maybe more of a third year. And the reason I think that is that I've watched the the track
17:25record of um Drew Lieberman, Sideline Hustle, the the the coach who's worked with the likes of Juan Delale Robinson and Evan Ingram and um Dantavian Wixs
17:37and Julian Edelman and a variety of other players, some even more successful than the ones I mentioned. and Jacobe
17:46Meyers. Um, another example of one he's worked with these guys and usually by year two they seem to you start to see
17:55improvements on the field with them and Thornton has started working with Lieberman this off season. I think Thornton has a ways to go at least from
18:03his tape. Um, he's probably going to make strides this year and they're talking about that he's had an improved camp. Um, so let's pay attention to
18:12training camp with him. If his route game gets better and he can start earning separation, um, and play to the level of speed that he has, or at least
18:21closer to the level of speed, they could really have something there. Um, but right now, I would say he's probably viney with Jack Bes for the third role
18:32um, in at the in the wide receiver pecking order. And I think he'll make the team, but I'm not sure he's going to
18:40move up this year yet. We'll see.
18:42>> I think that's fair. Uh what do you average? 13 and a half yards per catch during his rookie season. He's got 10
18:47passes, 135 ring yards. I I'm with you.
18:49I think it's a process. I have drafted I did draft him in in a number a handful of dynasty leagues last year and and
18:55he's one of those guys I'm willing to wait on and see if it comes together.
18:58The opportunity is there. It's not like there's a a super crowded log jam of talented receivers ahead of them. Uh, so
19:05I I'll go ahead and continue waiting on him, but my expectations are fairly low.
19:08And if in five years from now he's one of those guys at the bottom of my roster and I'm going, "Why the hell is he still
19:13here?" Um, I'll do something about it. I can assure you. The Patriots running back three role is a good example of
19:20reading newswires carefully. This comes after uh reports that Terrell Jennings looks like he's locked in as the running back three, not because he's a good
19:29running back three, but because he's great at special teams. Is this a true fact, Matt, that we often overemphasize what's going on in a news report?
19:38>> I would say so, though. I think that's a good reason for why he could be locked in as the number three because of the
19:44the because of the special teams stuff.
19:46That's a very good >> I think that's a very good um report and with um you know, supporting information there. But then also this week there was
19:57a report that um the rookie out of Alabama could possibly be in the mix to be the the running back three. Um, and
20:07then if you listen to someone like me who watches the film on these guys, I tell you that Miles Montgomery, who got
20:14signed to the most expensive um, rookie UDFA contract on that team, also could wind up the running back three based on
20:24his talent as a running back. Um, that kind of gives you an idea that they don't really know. It's all speculation
20:32at this point. And it's not their fault.
20:34They're supplying the information. It's just that when you read it on the newswire and you see three different reports, understand that it's
20:40speculation. And the ones and that they're making arguments for why these guys could be that. The best argument I hear is for Terrell Jennings as the
20:49incumbent, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see Miles Montgomery surge into a position where he's competing hard for that RB3 spot and maybe wind up as the
20:59running back for.
21:00>> Yeah, I think these are watch list kind of guys, but for Jennings, it's working with the first unit punt protection
21:06team. When you carve out a good special teams role, I mean, running backs that is, you know, not everyone gets to run
21:12the ball for the running back position.
21:14And if you can play special teams and produce there, uh, that's going to keep you on the roster and keep you higher on
21:19the depth chart or at least the game >> running back three is slotted for special teams work. That's generally what they
21:25>> heard them. Yeah.
21:27>> All right. All right. We're good there.
21:29Um, George Hani undrafted free agent at one point. Uh, has a legitimate chance become a fantasy option in 2026. Feel it
21:36or [ __ ] it?
21:37>> I'm feeling it, man. We've had a lot of feel it. What's going on, Bob?
21:41>> I'm feeling it, too. I don't know.
21:42>> [ __ ] that. [ __ ] that thing you said in the in the in the beginning. All right.
21:46>> I know agree with everything.
21:48>> I know, man. What's going on?
21:49>> But when you're right, you're right.
21:51>> When you're right, you're right. Yeah.
21:52Well, look, I mean, Helani was a running back three. He beat out Kenny Macintosh.
21:56First, he lost to Kenny Mintosh for that role um a few years ago. Then he beat him narrowly. It was a close competition
22:03each year. Then Macintosh got hurt the following year. Um, and Helani's seen a little bit of playing time, but really as a running back, not a special teams
22:12player, Helani is the better player than Macintosh. And he's showing enough comfort level and skill that the team seems to trust him to get first team
22:22reps, you know, in recent public OTAA sessions. And part of that is that he can catch. He's a big enough player to
22:30work inside. He has good contact balance. Very quick. He's a very quick player with good movement, can make multiple defenders miss in tight space.
22:40He's a very good open field runner, can catch the ball well. Um, I think he has a legitimate shot. He's someone you
22:47definitely want to be monitoring if you have expanded rosters in in this off season and you're looking for just dart throws at running back right now in your
22:57dynasty rosters. adding George Helani Kent is is not a bad idea until um we look at the cutdowns and then at that
23:05point I would expect that we'd see some of you know Jadarian Price start to get more trust with the team and prove some
23:11things and if he doesn't and Emanuel Wilson still looks a little bit behind in terms of what he needs to do. Helani
23:18could wind up that guy until Zack Charbanet returns.
23:21>> Helani is trending up in ADP because there's nowhere to go but up in ADP for him. He is currently after moving up
23:28some at the running back 73 available with the 277th pick. You can do the math. That's he'll be waiting for you in
23:35your the 20th round of your best balls.
23:37And like I I'll reach him for him. I'll reach around for him. Uh if I have to.
23:44Uh no, it's you know, and by the way, Jaden Blue is going in that same range.
23:47Running back 70. There's a lot of guys I like in there. uh you know Jaylen Wright might have some value at some point but
23:53I but I think I think Hani of that list of guys like right now has a path to workload uh and none of the others
24:01doesn't. So totally agree with you there.
24:03>> Yeah. I mean because blue is probably the best choice as far as talent >> long term.
24:07>> Yeah. Um right is probably the worst choice in terms of um scheme and talent.
24:13Um and then Helani or and might be second most in talent but hasn't really shown it. and Helani has shown enough
24:20and is on a really good scheme. So, you know, if you're looking for just a shortterm short-term boost to your roster that if you need a player, he
24:30might be that guy. So, we'll see.
24:33>> Uh George KD, the great fantasy analyst says that Mike Evans is dominating in the red zone and practices. Uh should we
24:40listen to great fantasy analyst George KD when he talks about wide receivers feeling or [ __ ] it? I'd say in a way,
24:48it. But I feel it that maybe his team should listen to George KD a little more often because George KD, he's made
24:56some pointed comments about players that they should keep and players that, you know, are worth maybe from a developmental standpoint. And I think
25:05he's right about those players, but the 49ers haven't always acted on those um on some of his statements. I know Isaiah
25:12Na was one of those players last year.
25:14He was like, "We need to find a way to keep him. He could be a really good developmental player that we one day be
25:20starting for us." And the Packers have him as a developmental option on their pretty jammed, you know, pretty filled roster. Um, but I'd say that Mike Evans
25:32dominating in the red zone isn't really like that's kind of like Jim Brown dominating in touches back when he was a
25:40Cleveland Brown or EMTT Smith dominating in in closeout yardage for the Cowboys or Barry Sanders dominating with his movement skills. It's pretty obvious,
25:51you know, we don't need George KD to tell us that Mike Evans would dominate in the red zone. I I think I I'm going
25:58to feel this mostly because I want eyewitness accounts that corroborate and correlate with what reporters are reporting from the field, right? So, for
26:05that, I'll I'll take it. He's there.
26:07He's watching. He sees what's going on.
26:09And then also when various beat writers are reporting similar things that Evans has pretty much been dominant. It's interesting because, you know, you like
26:17there's two competing notions here. One is that, you know, the Shanahan offense likes these yards after the catch guys and and that hasn't been Mike Evans
26:25lately, but also they like big guys and and Brock Birdie has a tendency to to hit those guys. I think I think that
26:33that people are maybe overstating the age, the issues. I mean, Mike Evans is going as like almost almost in wide receiver three territory. Let me double
26:41check that because it's it's been ridiculous. I think uh round four anyway or later. What is it? Round four.
26:49I think it's health more >> wide receiver 27. So he's a wide receiver three. It has been healthy. So he's going in in round going in round
26:56five. So uh or the tail end round four.
26:59So I just think that you know you're what you're what we're expecting is far from his historic average output, right?
27:07I mean he has been right there at wide receiver one, wide receiver two except for years when he's injured. And yes, if
27:13you want to worry about the injuries, you could easily avoid them. There are plenty of other options. You could have DJ Moore. You could have Roman Dun. You
27:19could have Christian Watson. But I think in terms of those are all injury threats, too. Come to think of it, >> they're all in the same rank. Carell
27:28Kate is the one that's in that group that is not Martin right after that.
27:33Right. So So yeah, I'm like I'm all about drafting him at cost right now. I think it's a great play and uh and and
27:39uh and and I'm taking and maybe I want to believe George KD, so I'm taking it as that. a little wish casting, but I
27:46thought George KD did a great job of reporting from the facility. Dallas Goddard, uh, the reporting is his declining receiving yards per game in
27:532025 might be a sign that he's in decline. Uh, feel it or [ __ ] it. Let me just go on the record here with a strong
28:00it.
28:00>> I would agree wholeheartedly with that.
28:03mainly because when you look at the Philadelphia offense last year, they were enormously predictable, oftentimes running plays where everybody ran the
28:13same route. Um, it was it's it was not a good offensive scheme and I think eventually teams started to see how
28:23predictable it really was and that's why you had all the rankor that you did that came out through the media about this
28:30offense and the skilled players in it.
28:32So now I'm not worried about yards per game um as some sort of sign that he was in decline. He also produced very well
28:40in the red zone like freakishly well. 11 touchdowns far ahead of his normal numbers. The targets were were pretty monstrous. That hasn't been the norm.
28:49But I mean I think like you know what you're looking at here is like who does Jaylen Herz trust? All he's going to
28:54trust Devonte Smith and then number two Dallas Goddard. I mean it's been three guys up now and one of those guys is
28:59gone. Um, so, uh, so it's just, uh, to me, this is more about volume and anticipated role. Also, Shawn Manion,
29:09uh, that San Francisco McVey Shanahan style offenses tend to do great things with tight ends. Manion comes from Green Bay where we just saw what
29:17Tucker Craft did. The aforementioned George KD had some success in that scheme. So, so yeah, >> there'll be a lot more. Yeah. And
29:23there'll be there's going to be a lot more motion in this offense, a lot more misdirection. That's going to free things up too that you know KD's going
29:30to benefit from teams having to pay attention to other receivers and where their movement is schematically and that's going to make things easier.
29:38>> All right, I'm I'm with you there. I think we both see it the same. Uh here's another one. I'm going to get out in
29:43front of this and say [ __ ] it. Uh we should be concerned about Justin Herbert's OTAAS and mini camp reports
29:49that he was uneven.
29:52>> Yeah, we should not really worry about that at all. that's called um they're showing you new things to do and you're
29:58having to get your timing down in terms of short drops and um precision in in the quick passing game. That's that
30:09early part of timing is always going to be difficult. The the accuracy of throwing a ball in terms of that distance is not difficult, but the quick
30:18timing of it is. And of course, he's going to stumble through some of that early on and it's going to be uneven.
30:24So, not a big concern.
30:26>> Yeah, I totally agree with all that. I do feel like, you know, we're at that time of year where people are just
30:32trying to say things to get a little attention and and uh and that will garner you some attention. Um, but probably should not be something you
30:39chase after.
30:42>> Well, I I get it. Like, you're trying to generate some content out there and there's, you know, a beatw writer will
30:47make a comment and you can spin that into whatever you want. In this case, I think the point you made is directly
30:52true is uh is Mike McDaniel wants to adjust the way, you know, he's working on his footwork, changing his footwork, getting the ball out quicker, thinks
31:00he's really super effective this the quicker he gets the ball out of his hands or the longer there's a mid-range where he hasn't been effective. Uh when
31:09he extends with a with his running, then he's been pretty effective, but ideally it's that first couple seconds, two two and a half seconds I want to say that
31:16they're looking to to focus on. So yes, all that. Um, should we be concerned about Caleb Williams completion percentage last year? Field or [ __ ] it?
31:23Oh, >> [ __ ] it. Um, first of all, he's in he was in a new offense and probably what was told to him, like a lot of
31:32quarterbacks get told to them, but don't listen, is if you get in trouble and you can't find anybody open, throw the ball
31:37away. And Caleb Williams threw the ball away a ton last year. um which would lead to a lower completion percentage but also lead to a low interception
31:46perception percentage which he also had.
31:49Um so it was a new offense wasn't he and receivers weren't always going to be on the same page. DJ Moore good example of
31:56that um where the receiver wasn't always on the same page where he should have been. But even with Caleb making mistakes like that too um throwing the
32:04ball away made more sense. So you know he's talked about we're going to raise that up. I'm more familiar with the
32:09offense now. you're going to see that go up, but he has the right idea, which is you try not to throw interceptions
32:18early. Um, and and you try and keep the you try and keep your offense in the game, and throwing the ball keeps the
32:25offense in the game. And you saw the number of comeback victories that they had and the number of big plays that Caleb Williams made in
32:34the fourth quarter of games for them to, you know, come from behind. And a lot of that came from his understanding of
32:40knowing when to fold them, you know, and that that's something that a lot of young quarterbacks don't know how to do
32:47and that's why they fail.
32:49>> The process is a great thing. And the process started last year with Ben Johnson. How did he start the process?
32:56By saying he'd like Caleb Williams to complete 70% of his passes. Um, the process is ongoing. They're heading in that direction. They did not get there
33:04last year. I don't know that anybody should be surprised by that. I'm with you, Matt. I think this is going to be a
33:10consistent rise for us.
33:11>> Did they make the playoffs?
33:13>> I believe they they >> Did they win a playoff game?
33:16>> Yeah. So, >> yeah. Okay. All right. I'm Yeah. Yeah, >> it's progress. Rashad Baitman needs to make some progress in Baltimore. Will he
33:23rebound this year? Feel it or [ __ ] it?
33:25>> I'm feeling it. And I know a lot of people would say [ __ ] it because they're disappointed with what he should have
33:29been and what he has been. Um, but when you look at the receivers that they drafted, when I hear reports that Jacobe
33:36Lane and Elijah Surat could threaten Rashad Baitman's standing, if that happens, it's because Rashad Baitman is toast. I mean, like utter complete
33:45toast. And there's going to be somebody who's going to spout off and say, "Yes, that's exactly what it is." Um, but
33:51they're probably someone who was upset that Rashad Baitman dropped the ball and or didn't, you know, or didn't make a play and they lost $100 on some sort of
34:02bet cuz, you know, they're the type of loud mouse who's spotted off about this kind of stuff uh on the interwebs. But
34:08Baitman is um Baitman's the best route runner of the three. Baitman is also the most dynamic athlete of the three. Um
34:18he's a very good contestant catch receiver. Um I I think the Ravens still have faith in him and they still are
34:25gonna give him an opportunity to be wide receiver two in this offense. Um and I don't expect him to maybe be a wide
34:34receiver too in fantasy, but I think wide receiver three, wide receiver four with some big games is a real possibility.
34:41>> I think that that I think that's fair.
34:44Look, he was a former first round pick.
34:45they had, you know, the previous regime invested in him, but it's still some the same guys at the top. So, uh, so yeah,
34:52uh, I'm hopeful, too. I don't know that I feel like Jacobe Lane or Elijah Sat or whoever is going to be, you know, maybe
35:00they'll cut into his workload. I And maybe that's the >> Fred Gibson. It's like Fred Gibson and Joshua Palmer basically competing with
35:08you right now. And I would say neither of those are strong enough.
35:13>> All right, let's uh finish it off with this Matt Wman. The 2025 running back class is strong.
35:18>> I I'm absolutely feeling that. Um got a chance to look at some of them just off the cuff. Um in recent
35:26>> mean the 2027 running back class.
35:28>> Yeah, the 2027. Did I say 2025? I did.
35:31Yeah, that was Yeah. Well, you know, we all have our moments and I know that that down the line that was me. Um but
35:38uh but yeah, the 2027 running back class is strong. I mean, you take a look at some of the players at the top, you
35:46know, people like Ahmad Hardy and Kiwan Lacy. Um, you got the kid Frasier out of Georgia who might come out, Nate
35:53Frasier. Um, and then one of the most impressive ones that I've seen um or a couple that I saw. There's Caleb Hawkins
36:01who who's from North um North Texas who is now going to be at Oklahoma State.
36:07He's an interesting player. Seems to be very good at breaking tackles. So is Mark Fletcher out of Miami. Um what his
36:14run in the um in the playoffs was pretty strong. Very big guy with good speed who can who who can break tackles. But the
36:22most impressive one to me might be um Jaden B out of Florida about 228 230.
36:29Really patient um great tackle breaker.
36:33Has that body lean, patience, vision, can catch the ball deep. Um good speed.
36:40Um, I mean, as an athlete, I mean, we're talking like somewhere in that Joe Mixon kind of athletic ability, skill set, but
36:50with kind of Levian Bell like patience.
36:53Um, you know, the the the term that I've heard people use is pick and slide as a style of runner. Some, you know, kind of
37:02a patient guy who can pick his way through. Frank Gourd did that very well.
37:07you know, just press creases and then find the opening and side step, you know, to the to the open crease. And
37:15that's something that Jaden B does really well. And if you need him to be a hammer, he knows how to do that. He's
37:20not like a a Brandon Jacobs or um Michael Bush who shies away from using their size. This is a guy who
37:28understands how to attack with his pads.
37:31So, um I the even um Antoine Raymond out of Ruters is a fascinating back. You know, he's another example. I think
37:40there's going to be about 10 backs in his class that people are going to be really talking about from a variety of
37:46angles that they like. Um, again, usually a the difference between a good class and a bad class is plus or minus
37:53one back, but uh but I think that this is going to be a deep class with a lot of talent and we'll see where they wind
38:01up and how it pays off.
38:03>> Fair enough. All right. And we'll see look into more of these kind of situations next week when we return with
38:08another episode of the Delightful Fielder [ __ ] podcast. for now. Go to football, guys. Check everything out. Go to the romantwin.com.
38:15Check out the roofy scouting portfolio.
38:17Order what you have not ordered. The dynasty rankings, everything is available. There will be updates coming ahead. Um, and uh and and and what else
38:25do we what else you got going? Tell us about some of the other podcasts, Matt.
38:28>> Well, we also have Going Deep podcast with Brandon Angelo. He and I do one every other Wednesday um Wednesday
38:34night. And Brandon is a um great fantasy analyst, especially in dynasty football.
38:43He watches a lot of film. He's also someone who trains professional athletes in terms of helping them rehab. Um so he
38:51has a really strong understanding of injuries and what it takes for them to to for them to get healthy. not just
38:59healthy enough to play, but healthy enough to to recover fast enough to play at a high level every week. So, we talk
39:06a lot about all those facets. Um, you know, in sometime in the fall, Adam Harstead and I will get started again.
39:14Adam Harststead over at Football Guys, um, was he 2023 fantasy football writer of the year? I think that's or 2024.
39:222024. Yeah. And Adam does fantastic work. you know, he talks a lot about data modeling and theories. Um, he'll get very academic with you in terms of
39:34giving you some ideas of how certain things link up from a historic standpoint. Um, he may give you some ac you know, I mean, I wouldn't call him
39:43academic necessarily, but he has he has some things that he talks about in theory that that you he can go in a
39:51variety of directions in great depth.
39:53Um, and so we we talk about football history. We talk about how to play the Dynasty game. He's an excellent Dynasty
40:02manager. Um, one of the better ones that I know and um, you know, and definitely very good in building teams and good at
40:10finding value. And so we talk a lot about the variety of things that you can do from a strategic standpoint to become
40:19a better fantasy player. That'll be coming up in the fall. So that that's what we got going on. And uh you know
40:26I'll be on some podcasts soon. I think Tom Cassinich and Dave Kugi are starting a podcast. I'll be I I I tend to be
40:33>> They're starting a show.
40:35>> I'll be I'm serious. Wednesday nights >> apparently. I'll be helping them cut the ribbon um you know on Tuesday night or
40:43Wednesday night. What is it? Wednesday night. Um, yeah, Wednesday night I'll be doing that. And then I'll be on with um
40:51>> who's that new Roire kid? Not Ian, but uh my man Theo. Yeah, Theo's gonna Theo I'm going to be on with Theo. Yeah,
40:59Theo's a great guy. And so I think if Rotowire were smart, they'd put Ian and Theo together, but we'll see what
41:06happens. I bet they will. It just seems obvious, but but we'll find out. It's kind of like chocolate and peanut butter, Bob Harris and Matt Waldman and
41:15you know that kind of thing. So, we'll see.
41:18>> All right. Remember, my series show will be cranking up tonight 8:00 p.m. 8 to 10 Eastern every day. Michael and I
41:24>> uh who we're no guest tonight. It's our first show of the uh startup, you know, the serious switches from baseball to
41:31football today. So, it's our first day back. So, we have a lot of stuff to work.
41:35>> Unfiltered Bob Harris and unfiltered Mike >> Dempsey. Then throughout the week though, we'll be visiting beat writers from we'll be doing a division a week,
41:43you know, bringing in four beat writers over the course of the the weekend of each week and try and get caught up to
41:49speed on what's going on with all the teams. We'll have fantasy guests. We'll have Tara Roberts on this week. Well, Klug will be on this week. Drew
41:55Davenport will be on this week and others. So, check it all out. It's good time.
41:59>> Poker Clemson. Poker Clemson and and Alternator Fixes.
42:04>> There you have it. that that we'll have I bet. So, yeah, you guys should do a drink contest of whether Dave mentions
42:10that he's fixed his alternator by himself.
42:13>> He is very proud of that.
42:14>> He should be, but yes.
42:17>> All right, that's it for us. We'll see you next week. Love you. Bye.
42:19>> Love you. Bye.
42:24Wrong button. for serious.
