A.J. Brown

PositiveValue0:06

AJ Brown is referenced as part of the elite wide receiver tier (alongside George Pickens and DeVonta Smith) after which there is a gap in receiver value.

Insight page
PositiveRole23:49

AJ Brown is being added to the Patriots as a full-time receiver, upgrading the passing game and providing consistent targets unlike part-time players from the previous season.

Insight page

Aaron Rodgers

PositiveProjection0:22

Aaron Rodgers won two MVPs with Mike LaFleur in the Shanahan coaching tree system, demonstrating the system's ability to elevate quarterback talent.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

PositiveProjection0:07

Robinson is positioned as a league-winning first/second-round pick with elite range of outcomes comparable to prime Christian McCaffrey, Le'Veon Bell, and David Johnson.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveValue0:06

Breece Hall is identified as a consensus top 36 pick and serves as a firewall for the analyst when deciding between running backs and quarterbacks in draft strategy.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection0:35

Purdy is the top QB choice if taking a quarterback in the draft, as he's been top 10 in points per game each of the last three years with a strong surrounding core including Mike Evans, George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, and Ricky Pearsall in Kyle Shanahan's offense.

Insight page

Caleb Lomu

PositiveDepth Chart23:20

Caleb Lumu was a luxury first-round pick by the Patriots but may not start in year one due to the team's offensive line flexibility, though he's available as a pinch-hitter if needed.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

PositiveValue0:09

Caleb Williams is among the QB tier (QB2-QB7) that goes within 16 picks between rounds 5-6 on Underdog, alongside Lamar Jackson, Jaden Daniels, Joe Burrow, Drake May, and Jaylen Hertz.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:19

The analyst is drafting Caleb Williams a lot in their home leagues, indicating strong confidence in his 2026 fantasy outlook.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

PositiveRole0:35

McCaffrey is part of the 49ers' strong surrounding core in Kyle Shanahan's offense alongside Mike Evans, George Kittle, and Ricky Pearsall, supporting Brock Purdy's projection as a top-10 QB.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

PositiveValue0:07

Colston Loveland is considered as an alternative tight end option when there's a gap at wide receiver and running back, allowing the analyst to make up ground in draft strategy.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:07

Loveland is considered as a potential late-round target in tight end-heavy drafts when top WR and RB options are depleted, offering a way to make up ground at a position with a gap in depth.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveRole0:05

There is a question about whether DJ Moore will bring the Bills' passing game up a notch with Josh Allen and Joe Brady.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

PositiveValue0:20

Dak Prescott is positioned as a cheaper version of Joe Burrow in ADP, offering similar upside at a lower draft cost.

Insight page

David Blay

NegativeRole0:10

David Blau is a first-time play caller for Washington, adding uncertainty to Jaden Daniels' offensive environment.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

PositiveRole0:18

Derrick Henry benefits from Lamar Jackson's ability to create runways and avoid sacks, but could see diminished production if Lamar's performance declines.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveValue0:06

DeVonta Smith is referenced as part of the elite wide receiver tier (alongside AJ Brown and George Pickens) after which there is a gap in receiver value.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveValue0:07

Drake May is mentioned as a quarterback who could go four rounds after Josh Allen in drafts, creating value discrepancies.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:09

Drake May is among the QB tier (QB2-QB7) that goes within 16 picks between rounds 5-6 on Underdog, alongside Lamar Jackson, Jaden Daniels, Joe Burrow, Caleb Williams, and Jaylen Hertz.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:14

With the Patriots' improved offense, better game scripts, and potential for more designed runs, Drake May could be a top-three quarterback option despite likely regression from his elite efficiency numbers.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:14

Drake May ran a route on only 68% of drop backs last year, limiting his upside compared to full-time receivers like AJ Brown and Romeo Dobbs who will be on the field full-time when healthy.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:15

Drake May is dangerous as a scrambler and found his way to over 100 rush attempts last year, with potential for more designed running plays in the scoring zone similar to Josh Allen.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:16

The analyst has Drake May as QB2, believing that even with regression from his elite efficiency numbers, the improved Patriots offense and more competitive game scripts could support a top-three quarterback finish.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:20

Drake May is positioned as a more expensive tier option compared to Justin Herbert, who offers similar upside at a lower ADP.

Insight page
PositiveProjection22:07

Drake May is the most-drafted QB in the Lamar/Daniels/Burrow/May/Williams/Hertz tier; he's a year-two QB with rushing ability and passing acumen, and the Patriots have improved their roster significantly with better offensive line flexibility and upgraded receivers (AJ Brown, Romeo Dobbs).

Insight page
PositiveRole24:07

May has shown the ability to exploit bad teams effectively, and the only thing holding him back from elite fantasy production is potentially more designed running plays, which the Patriots haven't prioritized.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveRole0:35

Kittle is part of the 49ers' strong surrounding core in Kyle Shanahan's offense alongside Mike Evans, Christian McCaffrey, and Ricky Pearsall, supporting Brock Purdy's projection as a top-10 QB.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveValue0:06

George Pickens is referenced as part of the elite wide receiver tier (alongside AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith) after which there is a gap in receiver value.

Insight page

Gus Edwards

PositiveRole0:18

Gus Edwards has benefited from Lamar Jackson's ability to create runways and avoid sacks, but could see diminished production if Lamar's performance declines.

Insight page

Jared Goff

PositiveValue0:27

Jared Goff is the next QB option after Justin Herbert in ADP rankings, coming in at pick 152 on ESPN, creating a significant gap in QB valuation.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:36

Goff is the preferred QB if waiting on the position, as he's the only quarterback with 30+ passing touchdowns each of the past three years and has the most passing touchdowns in the NFL since 2022, yet gets no respect in ADP.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup0:36

Goff averages 20 points per game in indoor games since joining the Lions, and the Lions play favorable outdoor games during the fantasy regular season with only one concerning weather matchup (Buffalo in Week 2 is a potential shootout, Panthers in Week 4 has no weather concerns, Miami in Week 9 is not threatening).

Insight page
PositiveValue0:37

Goff can be acquired at extremely favorable cost despite being QB 16 ADP on most sites, the most expensive he's been, while he's been crushing it with three straight seasons of 4,500+ passing yards (rest of NFL combined has only six).

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeBust0:09

Daniels is the most concerning QB of the top tier due to his reckless playing style, weak supporting cast (aging Terry McLaurin, messy RB room, first-time play caller David Blau), and year-over-year efficiency decline (TD rate dropped from 5.2% to 4.3%, yards per attempt down nearly a yard, completion percentage down ~10%).

Insight page
NegativeProjection17:35

Daniels' passing efficiency declined significantly in 2024: touchdown rate dropped from 5.2% to 4.3%, yards per pass attempt fell nearly a full yard, and completion percentage declined almost 10%, making it harder to thread the needle with him compared to other QB options.

Insight page
PositiveProjection18:58

Daniels is a better real-life quarterback than Jackson Dart and has the rare 'Konami code' dual-threat upside—he could throw for 4,000 yards and run for 800, combining elite passing with rushing ability similar to 2010 Michael Vick or 2015 Cam Newton.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveValue0:06

Jeremiah Love is identified as a consensus top 36 pick alongside Breece Hall, though the analyst notes these picks can work out but represent a tier where they prefer to wait on running backs and wide receivers.

Insight page

Jerry Jeudy

PositiveProjection0:34

Jerry Judy is suggested as a potential trade target for the Chiefs, with the analyst jokingly noting it would make his financial adviser and Mrs. Hardit happy.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveValue0:09

Joe Burrow is among the QB tier (QB2-QB7) that goes within 16 picks between rounds 5-6 on Underdog, alongside Lamar Jackson, Jaden Daniels, Drake May, Caleb Williams, and Jaylen Hertz.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:20

Joe Burrow is positioned as a more expensive tier option compared to Dak Prescott, who offers similar upside at a lower ADP.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:26

Analyst loves Joe Burrow and expects the Bengals to potentially run more balanced football this year due to defensive improvements, though uncertain if pass volume will reach previous 650+ completion levels.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection0:02

Josh Allen has consistently been either first or second in overall quarterback scoring for six straight years, adding significant points to rosters despite the opportunity cost of using an early pick.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:03

There is FOMO around Allen this year due to questions about the Bills' passing game with DJ Moore, Joe Brady's influence, and Pete Carmichael's potential impact, though the analyst expects to draft him less than in previous years due to QB1 debate.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:03

Rich Hribar has more FOMO leaving Josh Allen on the board this year than in past years, suggesting increased confidence in his 2026 upside despite the early draft capital required.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:03

The Bills' offensive changes—including Shawn McDermott's departure, Joe Brady's arrival, and Pete Carmichael's potential influence—could lead to more passing volume for Josh Allen in 2026.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup0:04

Allen has an inverse correlation to team success and high team totals—he excels in tight games and against good defenses, with the Bills facing Lions, Chargers, Rams, Patriots (twice), Chiefs, Texans, Bears, Broncos, and Packers in their fantasy playoff schedule.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:04

Allen has the most career games at 30+ fantasy points in league history of any quarterback ever, and last year he was still number one in that category.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:05

Over the past six years when the Bills are three-point favorites or lower, Allen averages 25 fantasy points per game, and in games decided by a field goal or less, he averages 24.88 fantasy points per game.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:06

Currently valued as a front-end round three pick, with the analyst willing to take him once the wide receiver gap (past AJ Brown, George Pickens, DeVonta Smith) and running back tier (Breece Hall) are exhausted.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:07

Josh Allen is valued highly enough to be taken in round 3, and when paired with elite RBs like Jamir Gibbs or Bijan Robinson, creates a championship-caliber duo that can score 80+ points in playoff weeks.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:27

While Josh Allen is awesome, the analyst prefers waiting to draft him later and instead targeting Justin Herbert at pick 123, creating better value by loading up the rest of the team.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

PositiveValue0:07

Justin Herbert is mentioned as an example of a quarterback still available in round 14-15 of drafts, illustrating the value discrepancy when taking Josh Allen early.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:07

Justin Herbert has fallen to round 14 in some drafts despite Josh Allen being taken in round 3, illustrating significant QB value variance in draft strategy.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:20

Justin Herbert is described as a cheaper version of Drake May and stands out as the best quarterback value in terms of ADP relative to his talent, even on baseball sites.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:21

Justin Herbert was QB2 in fantasy points before Joel Embiid got hurt, demonstrating significant upside potential for the 2026 season.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:21

Justin Herbert was hit on 129 drop backs last year, the most in the league, indicating high volume and opportunity.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:21

The Chargers' offensive line is expected to improve significantly with the return of Rashad Slater, the addition of Tyler Beadaz at center, and Cole Strange joining from the Shanahan coaching tree, which should benefit Herbert.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:21

Herbert is positioned to have high efficiency and ceiling under Mike McDaniel's offensive system, which has historically elevated quarterback performance; the coaching upgrade should reduce his scramble rate and improve overall production.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:23

Herbert ran for 498 yards last season despite breaking his hand down the stretch, demonstrating his dual-threat ability and competitive toughness.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:23

Herbert is the most undervalued quarterback at his current cost, with multiple seasons of 22+ fantasy points upside that may have been overlooked due to competing with elite QB seasons.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:25

Herbert is the most undervalued QB at his cost, with ADP at pick 123 on ESPN, creating a significant gap before the next QB (Jared Goff at pick 152), making him an attractive late-round target.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeRole0:33

Keenan Allen is not viewed as the solution the Chiefs need to address their receiver room deficiencies.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:33

Allen is questioned as the solution to the Chiefs' receiving needs, with the analyst expressing doubt about whether he's the right fit.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveRole0:29

Kenneth Walker's addition to the Chiefs is the main offensive change this offseason, but it's unclear how much it will improve Patrick Mahomes' fantasy outlook.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveValue0:07

Lamar Jackson is mentioned as a quarterback who could go four rounds after Josh Allen in drafts, creating value discrepancies.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:09

Lamar Jackson is among the QB tier (QB2-QB7) that goes within 16 picks between rounds 5-6 on Underdog, alongside Jaden Daniels, Joe Burrow, Drake May, Caleb Williams, and Jaylen Hertz.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:16

Lamar Jackson is ranked QB3 by the analyst but is concerning due to potential regression in rushing production; if he only produces 80-85% of his usual rushing output, a cliff could come quickly.

Insight page
NegativeInjury0:17

Lamar Jackson was banged up last year with a hamstring injury that affected his rushing ability and miles per hour, raising concerns about his durability and rushing production going forward.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:17

There were concerning behavioral and organizational issues with Lamar Jackson last year, including a schism with Harbaugh, odd media behavior, and not practicing at the end of the year, with the Ravens able to get out of his contract after this season.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:18

Lamar Jackson's ability to avoid sacks and create runways for running backs like Henry, Gus Edwards, and Mark Ingram has been a key factor in their success; if Lamar takes even one or two steps back, there could be a waterfall effect on the rest of the Ravens offense.

Insight page

Mark Ingram

PositiveRole0:18

Mark Ingram has benefited from Lamar Jackson's ability to create runways and avoid sacks, but could see diminished production if Lamar's performance declines.

Insight page

Mike Evans

PositiveRole0:35

Evans is part of the 49ers' strong surrounding core in Kyle Shanahan's offense alongside George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, and Ricky Pearsall, supporting Brock Purdy's projection as a top-10 QB.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

NegativeProjection0:28

Despite being at his cheapest ADP ever, Mahomes has declined significantly over the past three years (17th in completion rate, 23rd in yards per attempt, 20th in TD rate, 20th in INT rate) and is coming off an ACL injury, making his rushing upside unreliable.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:28

Mahomes' supporting cast has deteriorated significantly; teams now play heavy man coverage against Kansas City's weak receiver room, with his lead WR being a Debo Samuel-type player and his best perimeter receiver being a 165-pound player vulnerable to physical coverage.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:29

Against man coverage last year, Mahomes ranked 26th in QB rating, 21st in completion rate, and 28th in passing yards, indicating significant struggles when teams play man coverage against Kansas City's weak receiver room.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:30

Despite being a franchise-caliber QB, Mahomes' current situation with injury concerns, weak surrounding offensive talent, and lack of offensive changes makes him a fade at his current draft price.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:32

Mahomes' fantasy production last year came almost entirely from rushing rather than passing, with his passing fantasy points per game unchanged from the previous two seasons.

Insight page

Rashod Bateman

PositiveRole0:19

Rashad Bateman is part of an old Ravens offense, though he is younger than many people assume (not 30 years old).

Insight page

Ricky Pearsall

PositiveRole0:35

Pearsall is part of the 49ers' strong surrounding core in Kyle Shanahan's offense alongside Mike Evans, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey, supporting Brock Purdy's projection as a top-10 QB.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

PositiveRole23:49

Romeo Dobbs is being added to the Patriots as a full-time receiver, providing consistent playing time and targets unlike part-time players from the previous season.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

PositiveMatchup0:24

Saquon's performance was significantly impacted by offensive line situation changes year-over-year, illustrating how line continuity affects running back production.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveMatchup0:33

Diggs would be a great fit for Mahomes because he's excellent at freelance plays and can still get open, addressing the Chiefs' need for a receiver who can beat coverage on third-and-long situations.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup0:33

Stefon Diggs would be a great fit for Mahomes because he excels at freelance plays and can consistently get open, addressing the Chiefs' need for a receiver who can beat coverage.

Insight page
PositiveUsage23:43

Diggs was efficient last year but was a part-time player, running routes on only 68% of drop backs; he will now be a full-time player with the Patriots, providing a significant usage upgrade.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeRole0:10

McLaurin, now past 30 years old, is Washington's only reliable receiving option, representing a weakness in Jaden Daniels' supporting cast.

Insight page

Travis Kelce

NegativeProjection0:29

Travis Kelce is 37 years old, and the Chiefs' only meaningful offensive addition this offseason is Kenneth Walker, which may not significantly improve Mahomes' fantasy outlook.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:33

At age 37, it's unfair to burden Kelce as the Chiefs' closest thing to a receiver who can beat coverage on third-and-long, suggesting the team needs additional receiving help.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:33

At age 37, Kelce is being unfairly burdened as the Chiefs' primary option to beat coverage and create plays, which is unsustainable given his age.

Insight page

Trent Williams

PositiveMatchup0:24

Trent Williams' in-and-out status from the lineup has been a notable factor affecting team performance, highlighting the importance of tackle continuity.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

PositiveValue0:20

Trevor Lawrence is positioned as a cheaper version of Caleb Williams, with upside in rushing ability under second-year offensive coordinator Liam Cohen and Ben Johnson.

Insight page

Tua Tagovailoa

PositiveProjection0:22

Under Mike McDaniel's system, Tua has consistently posted higher touchdown rates than Patrick Mahomes over the last three years, demonstrating the system's ability to elevate quarterback efficiency.

Insight page

Tyreek Hill

PositiveProjection0:33

The analyst wouldn't be surprised if the Chiefs bring Tyreek Hill back mid-season if he becomes available, as a potential trade target to address their receiving needs.

Insight page

Will Campbell

PositiveDepth Chart22:35

Will Campbell may struggle as a rookie left tackle, but the Patriots have offensive line flexibility with Elijah Vera Tucker and Jared Wilson available to adjust if needed.

Insight page

Xavier Worthy

PositiveProjection0:32

Xavier Worthy could potentially return to his strong second-half rookie year form, but his collarbone injury early in the season is a concern for his development.

0:00The 10 biggest questions facing the quarterback position in fantasy football land ahead the 2026 season. Feat Rich Reebar. One of my great friends in real
0:09life. One of the best fantasy personalities and analyst you'll find as well. Matt Damon's alleged favorite fantasy football personality. The Swami
0:17Okonami fake football meteorologist at Sharp Football Analysis. What's up Rubes?
0:21>> What's going on brother? Man, you know I got to see you in person already once this summer. Uh you know I can see you
0:27again in a couple weeks. You know we're post fourth of July. It feels like now the season here, you know, training
0:32camps are about to kick off. It feels like we're really moving downhill right now.
0:36>> We were drafting with Lil Reeves as well, just, you know, slamming some best balls. I swear to God, scouts honor, no
0:41collusion going on. Just some guys drinking some bourbon, having a good time in Kentucky. But is this about the time, Reeves, where you try to turn off
0:47that best ball brain again, the reddraft?
0:50>> Oh yeah, 100%. I was just talking to with someone about this Matt Harmon on a show earlier week and I was trying to
0:55get it out of my my brain. You know, we were talking about like Ricky Pieraw and I was like, "Oh yeah, you know, baseball
1:00like there's this this and this could happen." I'm like, "Well, manage leagues, I might not ever start him."
1:04So, like you're trying to get out of like that that mentality with some of these guys of like what does it mean if
1:08they're on your manage league roster or they end up being like those roster cloggers and like do you just go in a
1:13different direction where it's like you would rather have just like a completely boomer player because then you can just move on and then use that roster spot.
1:19Uh so the roster liquidation is a huge factor uh that that was part of uh what we're going to change over and get our
1:26mindset into.
1:27>> I've still been airing on like the paying more attention to the best ball ADP because who is really still drafting
1:33on sleeper and ESPN? It's starting to get that way. And yeah, exactly. And I know at some point we will have to fully
1:38turn over that leaf. But that's kind of where I'm at where if you do still hear me mentioning baseball, probably be more
1:42so from the ADP perspective because I would like to think that eventually those ADPs probably be a little bit closer to what we'll actually end up
1:49seeing on the home sites. But Reeves, again, kind of quarterback week here on my new and improved channel. So if you
1:54guys want to again subscribe, do a like, whatever, or not. It's a free country.
1:57Always want to add that in. So, you know, with everything going on, but yeah, I want to kind of go through what
2:02I thought was like 10 of the biggest questions that's going to be shaping the position because as much as we can say
2:05we love this guy, we love that guy, value comes into it. And then just what you're seeing in the streets. You guys
2:10get the picture. So really the start of every quarterback conversation has to start with the king of the quarterback position, Mr. Josh Allen. It's
2:17provocative, Reeves. I've seen people say, "Hey, just draft Josh Allen in round three. Why not? He's Josh freaking Allen. Look what he's done." Do you
2:24really think it's worth it though in the year 2026 to be using a round three, maybe early round four pick on Mr. Josh
2:29Allen?
2:30>> It's It's always the dilemma, right?
2:32like that fight of opportunity cost and we're talking one quarterback leagues here obviously, you know, so Superflex changes the dynamic here.
2:38>> I mean, this is a player at a at a onesie position that has just consistently been either first or second
2:44in overall quarterback scoring literally in six straight years. So, like you're like you're adding points to your roster and you're adding a lot of points to
2:51your roster, but then you're also foregoing, you know, running backs and wide receivers. if there ever was a situation where he finishes even as like
2:58the QB5 in overall points like it ends up not being as worth the squeeze in terms of what you're giving up in
3:03opportunity cost. So, it's like always the dilemma gamers have to face. I kind of in years past I'm usually never the
3:10guy that takes the f quarterback first because you don't know when QB2 is coming off the board, right? Like that's always the thing when you take Josh
3:16Allen, what if the QB2 doesn't go over off the board for like six rounds and you're like, "Oh, >> humiliating."
3:22>> You're like, "Oh, man." Like, yeah. So, it's like I'm usually not that guy, but I will say it more so this year than in
3:28years past. I have a little more FOMO leaving Josh Allen on on the board this year. And and like I said, I probably
3:35will end up less Josh Allen than I do because of that QB1 debate, but I do have a little more FOMO of him shadow
3:40running this year because I just think like there's all these avenues I think for the Bills to throw more. Obviously, you know, Shawn McDermott's gone, but
3:47how much by design was Joe Brady brought in to run the ball? How much influence was there? just, you know, does Pete
3:52Carmichael have them throw the football more too? Is the defense just take a step back with no Shawn McDermott? It's still really good on paper. And then
3:58like they have like they face all of these like really good opponents this year that can push them. And we know
4:04when the Buffalo Bills playing big games, >> this is where we see like Josh Allen, usually it's the inverse, right? Like
4:11it's like you want quarterbacks as like high favorites and like these high team totals. Josh Allens is he's he's like an
4:17in almost an inverse correlation to that stuff where it's like oh they're not going to throw and he's not going to run
4:22in these games when they play the Miami Dolphins, right? But you're like, "Oh, even if they play like the Denver Broncos, like these good defenses, like
4:29they're going to get pushed and Josh Allen's going to take over these games."
4:31I mean, he has the most career games at 30 plus fantasy points in league history of any quarterback ever. Last year he
4:38still did it. you know, he had he he was number one in that category. And you look at like their schedule, uh you
4:43know, they face like the Lions, Chargers, Rams, the Patriots are now a good team. They face twice, the Chiefs, the Texans, uh the Bears, the Broncos,
4:50the Packers. In that fantasy playoff schedule, they face all good teams that are going to be pushing the Buffalo Bills. So, I have a little more FOMO
4:57with him, like, ah man, feel a little more scarier if my opponent has Josh Allen this year than years past. I go
5:03back to like the end of 2024, weeks 14 and 15 when they played the Rams and the Lions in back-to-back weeks, and it's
5:08just like, oh my god, you know, 80 plus points being scored everywhere. It is one of those things where I wonder if
5:14the Bills like is DJ Moore really going to bring this passing game, you know, up a notch, you know, is this maybe the
5:20point where, yeah, Josh and Joe Brady are still there and everything, but are they still going to be elite? But to
5:25your point, you got the team as its overall success drops off a little bit and games are more competitive. That's kind of what we actually want with Josh
5:31Allen. Like, this dude is a demon in comeback mode. We just haven't usually seen that because the Bills have been really freaking good recently.
5:37>> Yeah. I mean, you look at uh over the past six years, that stretch where he's been QB1 or QB2 literally in overall
5:43scoring. Uh when the Bills are just a favorite by three or fewer points or an underdog, just like where I said there,
5:49they're three-point favorites or lower.
5:51Uh I mean, he averages he averages 25 fantasy points per game. Uh and then in games decided by a field goal or less,
5:57he averages 24.8 eight fantasy points per game. Like you want the Bills playing in like tight contested games cuz that's just when they let Josh Allen
6:04be the deciding factor in the game.
6:07>> Is there kind of like lines you have at different positions maybe like a player where you say, "Okay, after this guy is
6:13gone, I'm looking to Josh Allen cuz a wide receiver there is that point where it's like neighbors or l maybe we don't
6:19feel amazing about it." And then we get into Jeremiah Love and Bree Hall who look they're all consensus top 36 picks.
6:25I'm not saying they can't work out, but that's kind of where I've been with the tight ends and quarterbacks. I need to
6:29hit a specific tier drop off a running back or wide receiver.
6:32>> Yeah. And I think that that is kind of that area. Uh like I currently have Josh Allen valued as like a a a front end
6:38round three pick. And I do think once you hit like that gap that little gap in wide receiver um where it's like kind of
6:46like right past like the AJ Brown, George Pickkins, Devonte Smith area, you have like this little gap where I think it flattens out. And I think like really
6:53the strength of wide receiver this year is like that wide receiver like 18 to 32 range. I I I always kind of want to have
7:00like two to three of those players in that range if not more. Um because I just feel like that's a really strong
7:04pocket of receivers. And that's the running back spot where it kind of dries up is like you said Bree Hall is usually
7:09like that firewall guy for me. So I do think he does fit like in that that bucket. Sometimes I'm that's also where
7:15I start to entertain like Coulson Lovelin too just because he you he's the other onesie position where I think there's a gap at wide receiver and
7:22running back. But if those guys are all gone, then I'm like, "All right, I I can maybe take this on and make up some
7:27ground." But like I said, you're always at the mercy though when you take Josh on first of Lamar Jackson or Drake May
7:33going like four rounds after.
7:35>> I know, man. It is really ridiculous sometimes when that happens. Then again, it's like I've been talking in some other QB shows and just we've been in
7:42these drafts where you just it's round 14 or 15. You're almost like pissed off at some of the quarterbacks that are
7:48still on the board. You're like, I took Josh Allen round three, but Justin Herbert just went round 14. What's going on here? The
7:53>> the other thing too that we didn't really talk about is the is, you know, you're starting this year at the, you
7:58know, first and second pick with guys like Jamir Gibbs and and Beijian Robinson who are like throwback kind of like league winning like isolated
8:06players, right? Like these guys have like in their range of outcomes because of where they are at their point in their careers and what they do on the
8:12football field like these guys are like the prime Christian McAffrey, Le'Veon Bell, David Johnson, maybe Leenian Tomlinson, Marshall Faulk type players.
8:20And when you already have one of those guys on your roster, you do tend to say like, man, I can add Josh Allen with
8:26Jamir Gibbs and maybe in week 15 when I'm in the playoffs, like I those two guys are just scoring 80 points and like
8:32good luck. Like good luck to like my opponents >> because if yeah, if you're starting at one or two, you know, comes back around
8:39you, you're still going to have a pretty good wide receiver to get and that could be right about the range where we kind
8:43of see that tier drop off anyway. And to your point, like why do I need to worry about my getting my second running back
8:48when I have Gibbs and Bejon and then I can just go ahead and get a true game changer like Josh Allen. So, good stuff
8:53there. I got him 30th overall. Again, this is more one quarterback reddraft.
8:58Super flex though, the 101 as he has been for past years for sure.
9:04>> Different ADP on different sites. I get it. Underdog though, where a lot of people are drafting right now. We've seen the QB2 and QB7 actually go all
9:11within 16 picks of each other between rounds five and six. We got Lamar Jackson, Jaden Daniels, Joe Burrow, Drake May, Caleb Williams, and Jaylen
9:18Herz. First question, Reeves, out of those, who scares you the most?
9:22>> I think by default of just like using the actual definition of scary, it would be Jaden Daniels of the group. He's
9:28probably also the guy he's like the Jesse Spano, not to say I'm brand for Save by the Bell memes, but like when
9:34she's taking the caffeine pill, she's like, "I'm so excited." They said, "I'm so scared." [laughter] Like that's that's like what you have with Jay Dales
9:41because we've seen the ceiling in year one, right? Like we know that from fantasy football and the way he scores fantasy points as an archetype of
9:48running plus passing when those two things marry together. You have this high ceiling for fantasy football, but this is a player that, you know, tends
9:56to play a little bit of of reckless given his frame. He takes some hits that you're not comfortable with. And then
10:01just his surrounding core compared to the other guys that you brought up is the kind of the weakest link of the
10:07group, right? Like Washington is kind of like they have an okay offensive line.
10:11They really just have Terry McLaren who's past 30 years old. The running back room is kind of a mess and you have
10:16a first time play caller in David Blau.
10:18So like there are all these question marks I think surrounding him whereas that you could tear down more so than the other guys and that makes him scary.
10:25But I will say like the marriage of this all coming together could be really great. I mean, he this is a quarterback
10:30that's only taken 33 career NFL snaps under center. We've seen that David Blau is going to take like a pages from the
10:37Ben CH Ben Johnson Dan Campbell playbook. That always works. It's always one for one easy, no call, >> just easy, going to be fine. But, you
10:45know, we saw this with Caleb with Ben Johnson last year. Like, Caleb had never played under center before last year and
10:49Ben Johnson's like, "Hey, you're going to do it." Um, so like this could all come together and be like more effective
10:55because we've seen Cliff Kingsberry's like year two offenses consistently fail and we had that big drop off from him last year. Even when Jay and Daniels
11:01played last year, he was not as an efficient of a quarterback, a passer.
11:05You know, touchdown rate dropped from 5.2 to 4.3%. Yards per pass attempt almost dropped a full yard. Completion percentage went down almost 10%. And I
11:13know he was banged up and there's other variables here, but like I said, when you're just looking at his whole layout
11:18compared to the other guys that you just mentioned, it's easier, I think, to to find holes into where you have to thread
11:24the needle with him more so than the other guys.
11:27>> I was uh getting to host a not, you know, with a co-host, I should say, a bunch of uh not a bunch, just an FFPC
11:32draft last night. So, high stakes rounds, people obviously putting a lot of money on the line and the thought kind of hit me. I hadn't had this the
11:38rest of the offseason. But >> is there really a four round difference or should there be between Jaden Daniels and Jackson Dart because I feel like
11:44we're just kind of making the same bet.
11:46It's not a good good offense we believe and we have one wide receiver hopefully in Dart's case that's going to be
11:50healthy when the year comes around and we just want them to get there while they're running the football. So I look
11:55I believe Jaden Daniels is a better real life quarterback. His 2024 beats Darts 2025. But Daniels, he's like the one Konami code pure rusher you could say
12:05that we are actually being forced to buy at a high price.
12:08>> Yeah. And it's because we've seen the the ceiling already, the passing ceiling. Like we we always talk about when it's when you focus on these
12:15runners or at least I have you know on brand is that when you get to put both of them together like the the old school
12:19Konami code and I originally wrote this article in 2013 dating myself you know was written under the premise of like you know guys like Tim Tibo who are
12:27perceived like a terrible real life quarterback are good fantasy quarterbacks because it creates this high floor like made guys like Justin
12:33Fields usable but when you're able to get the passing with the rushing that's when you have like 2010 Michael Vic or
12:402015 Cam Newton or like what Josh Allen's been doing, right? When you have the rushing plus a guy that can have
12:45almost 30 passing touchdowns, those guys are just hard to beat in fantasy football. And we know Jaden Daniels kind of has that in his range of outcomes
12:52because I do think as a thrower of the football of the guys that have mobility, you know, removing Lamar Jackson, like
12:59he's probably the closest thing that could be like Lamar Jackson like uh out of the the guys that are the the runners
13:04as we go down the draft board.
13:06>> Could throw for 4,000, run for 800, and we would not be overly surprised about it. So, totally get you there. But, you
13:11know, I think that comp has some legs, too, guys. That, yeah, it'd also be a lot cooler if you guys could take a
13:16little bit better care of your body.
13:17Please, please slide a little bit more often. Mr. Dart and Daniels, too. Out of that group that Reeves, Lamar, Daniels, Burrow, Drake May, Caleb Williams, Jayen
13:25Herz, who have you been drafting the most?
13:27>> Uh, the the mo the guy I've been drafting kind of the the most in that range is still Drake May. Just Okay. And
13:33I know like there's some schedule. You you look at the schedule stuff. You know, they were kind of a little bit of
13:36of paper tigers last year, but this still a year two quarterback that again runs, has the passing acumen, and the Patriots have gotten better. Like the
13:46Patriots are actually better on paper than they were a year ago.
13:50>> They kind of done like everything we wanted them to do after the end of last season quite well.
13:55>> Yeah. I mean, the offensive line has a lot of flexibility now. I think even if Will Campbell struggles, they have
14:00flexibility to kind of adjust their offensive line. The, you know, they had took like a luxury pick on Caleb Lumu as
14:06their first round pick. He might not even start in year one because they have that flexibility, but if they need him
14:10in a pinch, they can slide guys like Elijah Vera Tucker has experience playing left tackle. Jared Wilson's now going to move back into center where he
14:18was he struggled as a rookie. Remember, they played just two rookies at the left side of the offensive line last season
14:23until Campbell got hurt late in the end of the season. So, the offensive line's better. Stefan Diggs was really efficient last year, but he also was a
14:29part-time player. I mean, he he only ran a route on 68% of the drop backs, adding AJ Brown and Romeo Dobs, like these guys
14:36are going to be on the field full-time while they're healthy. Like, these guys aren't going to be like part-time players. So, you even upgrade at
14:42receiver. So, even I know I said we're trading some schedule stuff out and we probably trade a little bit of high-end
14:47deficiency because they are beating up on so many bad teams. You know what?
14:51Also, though, I want my good players to shred bad teams. Like, that's also a perk. [laughter] like I want you to show
14:56me like when you play someone that I want you to exploit, absolutely drag them. And that's kind of what Drake May
15:01did. So, u the one thing I would love to see them swerve into is maybe a little more designed running stuff with Drake
15:06May. But I understand why they don't do it. But that's the only thing kind of I think like holding him back from like
15:11having like a Josh Allen like range of outcomes because he's big enough for them to do it. He just doesn't doesn't
15:17get those designed runs in the scoring zone like Josh Allen does. still found his way to over a 100 rush attempts last
15:23year. Maybe without the kneels, you know, and at the end of some of those blowouts, he's a little bit under, but
15:27certainly someone who is dangerous as a scrambler. It's a good point with some of the game script stuff. Again, in an
15:32ideal world, we want it to be 45 44 back and forth throughout the game. But in order to get that blowout game script in
15:38the first place, you know, it does actually go hand in hand with scoring a lot of points so you can be sitting on
15:42the bench and showing at the end of it.
15:44So, great points all around, especially on the Patriots improved offense because I feel like the push back for Drake May is just like, well, look how good his
15:50numbers were last year. How is he going to, you know, lead the league in yards per attempt and completion rate again?
15:55He probably won't. But if the offense as a whole is better, if the games are going to be a little bit more
15:59competitive, and if I don't know, Reeves, the guy that arguably was the MVP of the league in year two, gets even
16:04better in year three, like we could be looking at Drake May saying like, why don't we just fire him up as a top three
16:09quarterback?
16:10>> Yeah, 100%. So yeah, I've just he's been the guy I've still have him as QB2 and I understand that feels a little bit like
16:15Chasey, but I do think of the guys that like really performed highly at quarterback last year that maybe have some question marks to regression. He's
16:22the one where I'm like even regression like we have to throw the baby out with the bathwater here.
16:27>> So it's Allen, May, then Lamar, I'm guessing for you.
16:30>> Yeah.
16:30>> Yeah, >> man. Lamar's the one that scares me the most. I don't have a great reason, and it's terrifying. It's he's like he's
16:37like a terrifying guy to not be all in on because we've seen when he's on top of his game. He's one of the best
16:42fantasy quarterbacks we've ever seen. I just >> I try to balance what I think about offenses with what Vegas is saying with
16:47their implied preseason, you know, lines and all that stuff. And they got the Ravens third, which really surprises me.
16:53I don't know, man. The Clen Doyle, another one of these guys. Maybe he just fixes the offense. I don't know. I kind
16:57of thought Tom Mon did some good things with Lamar over the years.
17:00>> I know he was banged up last year. I got some cool stats that show you kind of difference in his miles per hour and you
17:05know his rushing ability before and after the hamstring injury. But doesn't Lamar just kind of strike you as a quarterback where if we do see 80 85% of
17:14his usual rushing production like that cliff could be coming in a hurry is I guess my point.
17:19>> Yeah. I mean there's a couple things here I think that are just in general like maybe just like you're like all
17:23right let's see where this goes with Lamar Jackson. Well, one you already brought up like Todd Mon like how much better can like this Declan Doyle
17:29offense be better than like the height of the >> Yeah.
17:32>> like the the Todd Mon offense and then there's there was something just a little murial about Lamar Jackson last year and this is stuff like we don't
17:39know we can't quantify but like there definitely was clearly a schism between him Harbaugh probably you know u media session bro
17:48>> and you know like he wasn't practicing at the end of the year. I know he was banged up, but like he was really kind
17:53of like odd in his behavior and like the franchise can get out of his contract after this year. Like it's kind of like
17:59a kind of a weird fulcrum point of his career cuz that the the regime is changing over and like what if they're
18:04just like they there's like kind of a a a parting of the ways here where he's like I'm not happy and blah. There's
18:09just like weird stuff that like we don't really know under the hood that last year I was like what's really going on
18:14here? and we'll maybe never know the the truth of what actually was happening between all of that, but there is some
18:19of that at least they'll still lingering on. It's like, well, what if this doesn't work? Like, what if they're just not a successful team? Because I think
18:24the Ravens are are definitely getting a lot of cache built in in them for like what they've done the previous decade
18:30versus kind of where their roster currently is. I mean, this is a team that has had a ton of turnover. They
18:34lost a ton of snaps played on offense and defense from this year and last year. They're still they look like a
18:39good team. They've got a favorable schedule, all those things. So, not expecting them to bottom out. Like what if they're just not bouncing back and
18:44they're not as successful and there is some kind of like just you know pushing of like you know fighting of the new
18:50regime of like who's really in charge who's the alpha here who's the captain who's and the [laughter] >> and the Lamar gravity effect and we've
18:57seen that over the years with his ability to avoid sacks and also just you know increase Henry and you know Gus
19:02Edwards and Mark Ingram had all these running backs doing their thing getting these runways before they even have to deal with contact. So again, if we are
19:09taking just one or two steps away from Lamar, could be, you know, kind of a waterfall effect on the rest of the
19:13group. I don't think the Ravens are going to be They are old. Look at them.
19:16Reeves are old.
19:18>> Yeah. I mean, the offense outside of Zay Flowers, like it's it's an old offense.
19:22We'll talk about it, too, because like Yeah. Yeah. Not Rashad B. He's a lot of people probably think Rashad Baitman's 30, but he's not. [laughter]
19:32>> God, it's a sickness. It's a sickness. I cannot quit Rashad Bin. I'm not gonna quit Rashad Bin.
19:38for uh full I guess just telling you guys who I'm drafting. I'm drafting Caleb Williams a lot and I'm sure we'll
19:42talk about him more another time. I want to talk about this next tier of guys Reeves because it's like this fun I'm a
19:48cheaper version of a more expensive quarterback group. And I've you know been doing this over the years where I'm like why draft this dude in round three
19:53when you can get this dude in round six.
19:55And one of the lessons I've learned with that though is like okay that's cool and it is like a nice reason for the guy in
19:59round six doesn't necessarily mean the guy in round three won't be awesome in his own right though. So something to keep in mind there. That said, we have
20:05Dak Prescott kind of going next in ADP.
20:07I think you can make a good case that he is just again a cheaper version of Joe Burrow. There's Justin Herbert again a
20:12cheaper version of Drake May. Trevor Lawrence a cheaper version of Caleb Williams looking at what they can do running the ball. Second year Liam
20:18Cohen, Ben Johnson, all that sorts of stuff. Home league squad Reeves. Now, you described to me your home league. I know you guys got contracts and a bunch
20:25of wild [ __ ] going on, which I love and it speaks to your degeneracy as a fantasy football player. So, I love
20:30that. But if you have another home league team, which is a traditional or reddraft, you only have one of these guys, Dak, Herbert, Lawrence, who do you
20:37want to put your trip on?
20:38>> Well, I think just bar none the best quarterback in terms of where he's getting drafted and like home leagues and sites that you're on now that are
20:44non like best baseball, even on baseball, I think he's a really good value. But if you look at like ADP and
20:49like where ESPN is, uh, to me, Justin Herbert is the guy that just stands out to me.
20:54>> Right answer. And I know that there is also a pocket of people that will roll their eyes at that because they're like
20:58there's just like a contingency people are like oh never was gonna happen for one the Chargers never yeah I get it but you know we're going
21:07to make some excuses again I guess like but he was the QB2 in fantasy points before Joel got hurt so like we've
21:13already seen like the upside there he was hit on 129 drop backs last year um the most in the league the Chargers
21:21starting offensive line and this is already accounting for Rashan Slater being out for the year. Their top five offensive linemen were only on the field
21:28together for 16% of their offensive snaps. It was by far the lowest rate in the NFL. You're obviously getting Slater and Altback. You upgrade in center, I
21:36believe, in Tyler Beadaz. And then the the guards I think are still a question mark, but you do have Cole Strange who
21:43comes over for with uh Mike McDaniel.
21:45And that's kind of the lead, right? Is that the coaching upgrade here? This is an offensive system. When you look at
21:52the Shanahan coaching tree, like these guys have made wine out of water and Jimmy Garopolo, like the Tua tongue of Aloa, like just inferior talent down the
22:04board yards per attempt, you know, but even guys like Brian Greasy, Matt Shaw, Kurt Cousins, these are guys that threw for
22:11like 4,000 plus yards, flirting passing.
22:14Anytime the system has had a quarterback with actual talent, like these guys have gone bonkers, man. Aaron Rogers won two MVPs with Mike Laflur. Uh Matt Ryan won
22:23an MVP with with Kyle Shanahan. That like this is like you might have to go back to actual peak Shanahan. Mike
22:30Shanahan to have a quarterback that is Herbert's skill set like a John he's like modern John Elway. Uh they've got talent all over the place and just this
22:39this addition of Mike McDaniel like he's just going to be I think the efficiency is going to be so high for Justin
22:44Herbert and you still get a little bit of rushing. It's going to come down because he's not have to scramble as
22:48much. He had his scramble rate was 2% higher than it ever had been in a year before last year. But just Mike
22:53McDaniels, think about this. Tua Tongoa every year of the past four years and he got we know where Tua's career is at
23:01right now. Oh yeah. Had he had a higher touchdown rate than 4.8% every year. He had a higher touchdown rate than Patrick
23:07Mahomes the last three years. Every single season. So, like I mean anytime like this system has a quarterback with any type of ability to like like has
23:15actual talent, like man, I just want to I want to be in on that because I feel like the ceiling is so high.
23:21>> And this dude, I'm with you. I don't think he's going to be running the same amount this season [clears throat] or
23:25anything, but he ran for 498 yards even with breaking his hand down the stretch.
23:29Still stiff arming dudes. He's got that dog in him. He threw for 5,000 freaking yards in his second year, man. It's been
23:34a little bit. I understand that. It's not like Herbert's old, though. We have multiple seasons of 22 plus fantasy point upside but I feel like because he
23:42was kind of doing it in the Josh Allen Patrick Mahomes Jaylen Herz averaging 23 24 maybe didn't get the same amount of
23:48credit as he would have otherwise. So I am 100% with you answered the opinionated question correctly Reeves.
23:53So I'm proud of you there. The one really cool thing you mentioned though was that I think you said 16% of the
23:58Chargers snaps last year actually had their five central starting offensive linemen. That's crazy man. I know you look at this like fairly often and
24:05annually in the offseason. Is that like one of the lowest marks you've ever seen?
24:08>> It uh it I've been doing it for uh the the past six years and I post them.
24:13They're they're on my Twitter and stuff too. And yeah, that one is one I think it's the second lowest. I think the
24:17Saints had a year in there that was pretty low. The Saints have also been a team that just like consistently everyone talks about the Chargers
24:23offensive line and always being cursed.
24:25The Saints are the only team the past three years that are like bottom six every year. Like they just haven't been
24:30able to keep their offensive line intact. And the offensive line continuity is big because it's a weak leak position.
24:36>> Um, and you know when you're missing both your starting tackles when there's the caliber of Alton Slater, >> it's just hard to overcome as an
24:42offense. I mean, we saw even like guys like, you know, look what happened to Saquon last year with like the offensive
24:46line situation that they had compared to what it was the year prior. Uh, you know, we always talk about Trent Williams when he's in and out of the
24:52lineups. And the Green Bay Packers were another team last year where they just were completely snake bit the entire year and it kind of derailed them. So,
24:59yeah, always always look at that kind of stuff. If someone wanted to push back on Herbert, I'm guessing their main cause
25:05for concern would be, "All right, well, McDaniel, Harball, they got a still what should be a good defense?" I mean, what's going to stop them from just
25:11running the ball a lot? Also, lad QJ, we have reasons to like them, but let's face it, that's not like a top 10 wide
25:17receiver core in the league. Still not enough to get you off Herbert, >> right? Uh, no. I mean, at his cost, like
25:23I said, I'm always in on cost. Like, he's the guy I think that's the most undervalued. I think it, you know, this
25:28this number of names you brought up here, like I don't really have a ton of push back on any of those guys. Uh I'm
25:34very very interested to w see if there's any changes based on the improvements that both Dallas and Cincinnati have made on defense, particularly more I
25:42think Cincinnati and Dallas because I think Dallas has made their improvements largely in the in run defense, but the Bengals already had I think a better
25:49pass defense than people realize. It's just that they they they could not stop the run or rush the passer last year and
25:56they really have put a real big emphasis on the way they've allocated their resources this offseason. You know, getting boy Maf Dexter Lawrence,
26:04Jonathan Allen in the middle, beef up front, uh you know, uh Cashes How, see what they get out of him as an edge
26:10rusher. But >> I think people don't realize how good DJ Turner is and like their pass defense is is is underrated. I'm very interested to
26:18see if like they're a team that it kind of they play more balanced football this year than people expect because I don't
26:23know if anyone else knows this.
26:25Cincinnati Bengals right now are favored in 15 games. They're number two behind the Rams. They're number two behind the Rams.
26:33>> Like they have a they ran into like a sneaky schedule. Remember everyone last year was talking about the 49ers, how
26:37their schedule is going to flip. That's that's where the Bengals are this year.
26:41So, uh I'm very interested Yeah. to see if there's a little more balance from them this year than we have had in
26:46previous years. But I still love Joe Burn. I love Jamar Chase. I love T.
26:49Higgins. I just I'm just curious to see like if we don't see the full 650, you know, pass completions, you know,
26:56>> and that I mean, we're a couple years removed too from like everyone in that division being at least nine and eight.
27:01Brown's not expecting too much from them. We just talked about maybe some concerns with the Ravens and, you know, the Steelers are led by a 42-year-old,
27:07you know, IA addicted dude at this point. So big point here though is at cost. And again, Reeves, it's July 8th
27:13as we're recording this, so I'm not going to, you know, just freaking ram ESPN sleeper ADPs down everyone's throat. Pause. Justin Herbert though,
27:20pick 123 on ESPN right now, man. Like there's a gap between Herbert and then it goes to Jerry Goff at pick 152. It's
27:29those sorts of values, man, that have me kind of declining to let someone else draft Josh Allen. Not because Josh Allen's not awesome, but my god, we can
27:36get Herbert that late potentially.
27:38Yeah, that's that's what's that's what I think is what I look at is like if I'm really waiting and loading up my team, I
27:43can still get him as like kind of the headpin.
27:47>> Reeves, the uh the best quarterback not named Tom Brady of the last 10 plus years. GB has ever been in fantasy land.
27:55What's your opinion on that?
27:57>> I mean, there's a I think there's a reason for it. I think it's it's kind of warranted and I and you know, we How
28:02long are we going to chase this? Cuz it feels like that's the argument that people are holding for Patrick Mahomes.
28:06as cheapest he's ever been, but he keeps getting worse and he's coming off of an ACL. Uh I mean, you you look at this uh
28:15this isn't just one year. This is the past three years. Patrick Mahomes 17th in the NFL in completion rate, 23rd in
28:24yards for pass attempt, 20th in touchdown rate. I already brought up the two that 20th in interception rate. The one thing that held him up last year was
28:31he was running around and we just can't count on that. You know, coming off of the ACL. The other thing too is that the
28:40infrastructure and I probably would have done this too if I was building the Kansas City Chiefs. You know, when you have a guy like Patrick Mahomes, it's
28:46easy to build your roster with a little bit of hubris. And I think that that happened to the Kansas City Chiefs,
28:51particularly in their wide receiver room. Part of the reason teams play them differently. And the Chiefs were initially at the forefront of this
28:59defensive meta where they started to see all the two high stuff, right? And that the stuff that kind of led to where we
29:03are now in the Fangio style defenses.
29:06But once Tyreek Hill left, like that has all changed. They actually see one of the highest man coverage rates. Teams don't respect their receiver room.
29:13>> And you know, when your lead wide receiver is is a Debo Samuel adjacent type player, like teams don't respect respect him getting open. when you're
29:23when your best wide receiver on the perimeter is 165 pound receiver that if you put hands on him, you're knocking out like and and it says against man
29:32coverage last year. Patrick Mahomes 26th in quarterback rating, like 21st in completion rate, 28th in yards or pass them. Could you imagine telling yourself
29:39like 10 years ago like we're just going to line him and play man coverage against Patrick Mahomes. Uh, you know, Travis Kelce's 37 and the only real kind
29:47of change they've made to their offenses this offseason, I guess, you know, counting, not counting Eric Ban coming back is the Kenneth Walker addition. And
29:54how does that, you know, you know, really raise the tide of Patrick Holmes from a fantasy football stance? The one area you could say is like maybe they
30:01get under center and play more play action, but him coming off of this knee injury, are you having him turn his back
30:06to the defense and playing under center more? I find that hard to believe, too.
30:10So, I understand like Patrick Mahomes, there's a little bit of a boogeyman.
30:14You're letting Patrick Holmes go as cheap as he can, but I think paired with his injury, his surrounding offensive talent, like it's warranted
30:22>> and there's just not enough change to your point to be like, "All right, well, why is it going to be different? Why are
30:26we get back to partying like it's 2022?"
30:28Okay, Eric Bene is back. But I get nervous with these play callers, man, when they go somewhere else and nothing good happens and then they come back
30:35home. Like it's exactly what happened with Matt Naggie when he left the Bears and came back to Kansas City.
30:40>> Yeah. And I mean like I and I don't like Andy Reid is going to go into the Hall of Fame like easily, but like when you
30:46look at what the Chiefs have done to counter what teams are doing against them these past years. Like I mean it's
30:52a top down problem. They're one of these teams like they're kind of creating their own like paper bag to try to punch
30:57out of. They're not they they're not pushing the easy buttons in the offense.
31:00And it's found it sounds crazy to say like right like this is a team that's coached by Andy Reid and as Patrick
31:06Mahomes and they have they've had no answers for three years.
31:12>> Is it because they spend half their practice time just practicing the plays from inside the 5 yard line >> around the Rosie? And so
31:19>> I mean I mean I think we will always just look back though at like that intersection uh of just you know Mahomes
31:26on the ascension playing with Pete Tyreek Hill Apex Travis Kelce and it was like it was such a a marriage. Remember
31:32this happened with Tom Brady at the end of the Patriots run, right? It's this isn't necessarily me tearing down Patrick Holmes. I think Patrick Holmes
31:38is still like if I was building an NFL franchise, he would probably be the first pick still, but at the end of the
31:43Tom Brady Newing Patriots, like when they finally divorced, the Patriots were just like void of talent on offense and Tom Brady could no longer carry them.
31:51That's kind of what we've been with Pat.
31:53He's had to do so much and it's just not successful. But the second Brady got back with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin
32:00and he brought Gronk back, but Brady balled like it was it was say I think we eventually will see Pats be great again,
32:06but I think when you look at what the Chiefs have on paper still right now and then him plus this injury and then we're
32:12not we're going to talk about still the surrounding pocket of quarterbacks that go around him. I totally just understand why he's here
32:20>> again. last year got back over that 20 fantasy points per game mark, but as Ree said, almost entirely due to rushing. We
32:25actually did not see his fancy points per game from passing change at all relative to the last two seasons. So, wide receiver room right now, Rashid
32:32Rice, again, very, very limited receiver outside of what he can do in the short intermediate, not even intermediate, just the short areas of the field. Great
32:39after the catch. I get it. Xavier Worthy, maybe we can see him get back to some of the good second half of his
32:45rookie year stuff. Not after, you know, breaking his collarbone, the fourth play of the year. That is a guess. Taekwon Thornton did good things, but I want
32:52Taekwon to be my like wide receiver for field stretching specialist. We need someone to work in intermediate areas of the field. The Chiefs are a smart
33:00organization. Reeves, >> Stefon Diggs, like would that change anything for you here? I It seems like a marriage that has to happen.
33:06>> That would be They need They just need a guy where it's third and eight in like a guy that can just beat coverage. Like
33:11they just don't have one of those guys.
33:13Kelsey's their closest thing to it in terms of route running and it's just not fair to him at age 37 that he like that
33:20burden falls on him. Diggs I think would be a great fit for Mahomes because he's great at like the freelance stuff and
33:26can and he still shown last year can just get open. So that's a guy they need. I mean we we were bro.
33:34>> Yeah. I don't know if Keenan Allen is the is the one.
33:38>> Is there is there one you would trade for man? Every single time we ask this question, I go to Kan Booty regardless
33:43of the team. I think that dude's a baller. [laughter] >> I mean, I don't know like hypothetical like who's even available right now. I
33:48just think the guys are I mean I wouldn't be surprised if in season if we get to middle of the season and they are
33:54the team that brings Tyreek Hill back like if he's availing like those types of off-field guys back
34:16so like that digs make sense too because if anyone 's going to take digs because the only reason he's available is
34:20because off the field he's he's a knucklehead.
34:23>> Like the Chiefs have shown they don't care. [laughter] So, >> you know, a trade that would make uh my financial adviser and Mrs. Hardit very
34:30happy. Reeves >> Jerry Judy.
34:32>> Judy, >> just saying. Just throwing it out there.
34:35All right, you're in your home league draft again. I like to put people on the spot because I know Reeves, you're in a
34:39million drafts and everything. You're going to get exposure to some of these guys, but I just hate when us fantasy alleged experts are like, "Oh yeah, I'm
34:45kind of in on them, but you know, I'll sprinkle in some exposure." Whatever. I want to hear who you are circling
34:50between Brock Party, Jackson Dart, Bon Knicks, Matthew Stafford, Jared Goff, Kylo Murray. Again, this is that next crop of quarterbacks where if you are
34:58waiting in your home leagues, you're probably going to have a decent chance to pick one of these guys. Who would you
35:03be circling?
35:04>> Yeah, I I I mean, it's two guys for me and it's kind of where I'm at in the draft. Uh, do I feel like I need to get
35:10I feel really strong. Do I just want to add a quarterback or do I want to keep >> pushing quarterback down because I just
35:15really like some other positional players? I was like, I don't want my other league mates to have these guys, right? These guys all go in that range,
35:21right? Where you're like, oh, and this is just me using hypothetical. It's not me saying, but like let's say you like
35:26really like Matthew Golden, right? And like you're like, I already have four good wide receivers, but I don't want I don't want Jim or Susie to have Matthew
35:32Golden because I, you know, like I just gonna add him to my roster and have him.
35:36So, I'll just wait on quarterback again because I know I like this other guy down the line. So, if if I'm just taking
35:41quarterback, Brock Party still would be the guy like just completely gets dunked on. Like again, Shanahan system surrounding core is really good. They
35:48are old too. This is another old surrounding core, but it it's still Mike Evans, George KD, Christian McCaffrey, Ricky Pieraw in a Kyle Shanahan offense.
35:56Like, this is still a really good group.
35:58I'm really confident in his production.
35:59He's been top 10 in points per game each of the last three years. And then if I'm waiting, it's this for the same reason.
36:05It just the level of confidence is Jared Goff. Another guy gets no respect at man. Uh this is a guy, he's the only
36:11quarterback to have 30 or more passing touchdowns each the past three years.
36:14Since 2022, he's the most passing touchdowns in the NFL. And a lot of people have already told you about Jir Gibbs and like his schedule, right?
36:23Well, Jerick Jared Goff, man. The Lions, I mean, they they play four outdoor games during the fantasy regular season.
36:29Now granted, one is the fantasy championship in Chicago, but they're only >> We'll worry about that later.
36:33>> We'll worry about we'll worry about that in week 17, we're there. Uh the outdoor games that they face before that are
36:40week two in Buffalo, so it's no temperature concerns and a potential shootout. Uh week four against the Panthers. No, like that's not great.
36:47That's not there's no weather concerns, so it's like not anything you're super excited about. And then week nine in Miami, who you're not scared about at
36:53any level. Um you know, golf averages 20 points per game in indoor games. uh you know since he joined the Lions.
36:59>> Uh they open the year with games against the Saints, the Bills, the Jets, the Panthers, Cardinals, like you're you're confident the stream like those are all
37:06startable games where you're going to be feel feeling pretty good about the Lions scoring points. So if I'm really waiting at quarterback, like you really could
37:13get him uh at like just extremely favorable cost and I'm totally confident opening the year with him as my quarterback and then we'll calibrate
37:20things as things go.
37:22>> Beaten ADP four straight years. Has it been priced like he's QB 16 on most sites this year? That's the most
37:27expensive he's been. Even though he's just been crushing it, dude. Three straight seasons with at least 4,500 passing yards. The rest of the NFL
37:34combined has only six. So, I I'm with you, man. I have an article going up on rotow.com. You guys can all check it out
37:40if you feel like it this week where I was just looking at all like who are my favorite late round quarterbacks outside
37:45the top 120 picks round 11 and on. I didn't think I'd be writing about Jared Goff Reeves, but I was like, "Oh my god,
37:52look at this dude." I mentioned outside the top 150 on ESPN, outside the top 120 on Sleeper, Jergo, the late round
37:59quarterback of 2026. Man, Vegas has this offense number one scoring. The one push back I think people have had is like,
38:05well, what's Drew Psoning going to do there? I'm actually feeling okay about it, man. We saw what he did with Jacobe
38:11last year. He always had a good run game going on with Arizona, which I'm guessing is kind of a big reason they
38:15wanted him to come hopefully spruce up that O line. But regardless guys, even if you don't care what I have to say
38:20about the real life intricacies of Drew Petting, listen to some of the smarter dudes in our industry. You know, Ben Solic, Nate Ty, they love the marriage
38:26between Drew Ping and Jared Goff. And I'm inclined to believe them, Reeves.
38:30>> I mean, even if you don't even love Drew Ping, like they're they fired their offensive coordinator in the middle of
38:35the year last year. Like we already That's >> true.
38:38>> We already saw.
38:38>> We've seen the worst case scenario.
38:40Yeah.
38:40>> He's attached to two first round picks.
38:43uh a a tight end who goes as a tight end Juan and like a high upside wide receiver and James Williams they also
38:48he's got Greg Dorch baby Greg Dorch >> light the torch light the torch we buried the lead reeves what are we doing
38:55here so [laughter] absolutely love it Jared Goff the late round quarterback of 2026 Perty should be going earlier I'm with you though pretty over golf with
39:04that I will say again I mentioned that FFP uh FFPC draft I was watching last night Jackson Dart did go like QB 15
39:11that's nice because when he's calling QB8, QB9, I'm out on that. I do not want to be trying to again chase him up the
39:17ranks that much. But Dart is interesting that deep because as we get into kind of the next question again, home leagues at
39:24this point, you're probably going to have your quarterback. And I get that's the reason why Goff's ADP is as low as
39:28it is. A lot of times if you're getting an early guy, you don't even need a second quarterback. You can worry about
39:32the waiver wire later. But look at the next group next group of guys. We have Jordan Love, Baker Mayfield, Tyler Shuck, Malik Willis, CJ Strad, and Sam
39:39Darnold. Let's say Dart and Kyler kind of slide into that group. I mean, again, Reeves to Swami Konami right here, like
39:45you've been preaching this message for a long, long time. This seems like the first year in a minute, dude, that we
39:50can actually draft these high volume dual threat quarterbacks at a good discount.
39:54>> Yeah. And and like I said, I just think, you know, gamers will always calibrate on like what has recently happened. And
39:58I think a couple of the non-passers got pushed up the boards a little too highly in recent years like Justin Fields and
40:04rookie year Anthony Richardson. And those guys always came with the question marks of passing, but they were kind of overdrafted because of like the what if
40:12this comes together. I would even include Kyler like in recent years as part of that group. He's kind of been overdrafted a little bit too. Everyone
40:19loves to bring up the stat about like Kyler finishing as like a a QB1 and points per game, but it's like literally
40:24like backend QB1 stuff and like on a weekly basis, he's never like really delivered like highscoring weeks to like help you win. So when you don't get that
40:32marriage, those guys tend to feel like a little bit of a let down. So that I think that's why like people look at
40:36Dart and they're like, "All right, if Neighbors is going to be hurt, they hired, you know, Greg Roman and Matt Naggie and John Harahan's there, too.
40:44Damn it, man. I saw that." And I was like, "Really? You needed to add him, too? We couldn't have just stopped with
40:48Naggie."
40:49>> Yeah. And the offensive line's good.
40:50They take it like It's crazy because the Giants haven't had like a But the offensive line actually looks really good on paper. They signed Patrick
40:55Ricard. Like they're telling you they want to run the football a lot. Um, but you know, Dart didn't have neighbors last year when he was also kind of doing
41:04this stuff. So, and he was consistently delivering fantasy points. I think if he if he's definitely available in this range, I'm just taking him because the
41:11where the floor and the upside can lie.
41:13Um cuz cuz we saw it last year, right?
41:16Like uh >> um he he was already uh what he had he had three top three scoring weeks. He had five top six scoring weeks. He had
41:23eight top 10 scoring weeks. So, like that's still like something I want to latch on to if my if gamers are kicking
41:30that down the board.
41:31>> I think he's good, man. I was getting some, you know, heat online when I said I would take Jackson over Cam Warden in
41:37a reddraft. I think Cam Ward's good, too. I think both these guys, man, they have that special tool that you can't
41:42tease, that ability to improvise, create offscript, avoid the sack, and still have the arm talent to get the ball downfield. Ward's maybe not quite as
41:49mobile as Dart, but he's got a better arm. If you like Ward over Dart, I'm not going to sit here and call you crazy or
41:54anything like that. But I do think, man, that Dart is also like independent because like you mentioned some of the bust, Anthony Richardson, Justin Fields,
42:01like these are guys who we can safely say to this point in their career have not been good real life quarterbacks. I
42:06think Dart could be great.
42:08Yeah, I think I think that, you know, especially just year one, the the incompletion of just saying like this guy was literally throwing to Wondo
42:14Robinson and Darius Sllayton his, you know, his partner in crime and his his tag team partner goes down in the middle
42:20of the year and Cam Scataboo, they're running this, you know, hodgepodge of um Devin Singleary and Tyrone Tracy. His head coach gets fired in the middle of
42:29the year. Like there's just a for him to even come out like above water in that situation I think is a testament that
42:35like there's probably something here that [laughter] that we could build.
42:39>> We had the one the one Vikings game where yeah went Brian Flores does that to all you know rookie quarterbacks and
42:44the fact >> Oh yeah. Yeah. He's made a disaster floor was so so high out there man. So only other guy I want to ask you about
42:50in this tier Baker Mayfield. And I I I love the work that Ryan Heath's been doing over at Fantasy Points. And I
42:56believe it was him who coined the Mc Shanahan term where when we're looking at late round quarterbacks, we want the Shawn McVey or the Kyle Shanahan tree
43:03and he threw Ben Johnson in there as well. Look, I do not think Zack Robinson is on the same level as someone like
43:09Mike McDaniel or anything like that, okay? But he does come from that tree and you can look at the Atlanta Falcons
43:14offenses over the years. It wasn't like he was exactly given, you know, this just diamond core and everything at quarterback, at least you could say. So
43:21Baker Mayfield unironically get an MVP chance in week six. Maybe it was Tess Johnson, you know, whoever you were rooting for. But like the dude was on
43:29fire in 2023 and 2024. He led the league in passing touchdowns. He averaged north of 20 fantasy points per game in 2024. I
43:37say all that because I can see the allure for Baker in 2026, but if I also zoom out and I look at his whole career,
43:442024 kind of looks like the outlier.
43:47Yeah, he's still a guy that I think where he's going represents a a favorable outcome because similar to like Jared Goff, there's just like all
43:54this surrounding reasons to feel really good about him. I mean, one last year, it's easy to like write a hall pass what
44:01happened last year. I mean, he had ankle, knee, oblique, shoulder injuries over the course of year. He still never missed a game. Like, just dude just kept
44:08playing.
44:08>> Uh, also their offensive line, Tristan Worfs missed five games. Luke got missed six games. Ben Brendan said missed six games. Uh Cody Mock got injured in week
44:17two and missed the rest of the season.
44:18Uh they the only offensive lineman to play in every game was center Graham Barton. You brought up Zack Robinson, but the one thing Zack Robinson does is
44:27he runs an offense that's very similar to the one and 21 and 24 that Liam Cohen runs. In fact, they were both there with
44:33the Rams when Baker made that pit stop with the Rams. So, I'm a little more bullish on that on Zack Robinson being
44:40able to just put Baker in in place. The receiving room is still something. I know Mike Evans is gone, but like as a
44:46whole, the as a collective, >> we've got dudes. We've got dudes like in terms of depth you feel good about. And
44:52the other thing I really like about this is I think this team's going to play in potentially like highscoring pass scripts because I don't know how
45:01good their run game is going to be. Uh, you know, with Bucky Irving and, you know, Kenneth Gainwell, it it it wasn't
45:07good last year. We I talked with the offensive line, so it can be better, but I just don't know how strongly I feel
45:12about it. I don't know how bullish I'm in it being like awesome. And the other thing is their secondary looks really
45:18bad and their front seven looks awesome.
45:20So, what does that mean? We're stopping the run. The Lions had a few teams like this, especially early in golf's career,
45:25where like you couldn't run on them and they're just you're forcing teams to throw against the weakest part of your defense, like invite inviting teams to
45:32attack you where you're weakest. And this Bucks team has that like in spades cuz Todd BS with this front seven, dude,
45:39he's going to be bringing so much heat and pressure, but then they're they lost Jamal Dean. Uh Zion McCollum is literally like their best cornerback
45:47right now. Uh they look real weak at quarterback. So it's like, man, they this is a team that could be in some
45:52passing scripts and we can be in some for some fun game states because they're not you can't you're not going to be
45:57able to run this Bucks team while it's healthy. This Bucks front seven looks woo. It's kind of how they've been almost the entire time Vita Vea has been
46:04there. Like just good luck moving that mountain of a man in the middle and then accordingly like that's really what we
46:09want guys. Again, it's those defenses that are so good against the run. They funnel all the production through the air. You don't have the cornerbacks to
46:14stand up. Could be some big things. So, love that shout out because again, just trying to go through these late round
46:19quarterbacks. Yes, Jared Goff would be the preference. If darts fallen that far, then okay, absolutely. Otherwise, man, I've been toying around with the
46:26idea of the boomer sooner late round strategy reads. get Kyler, we get Baker.
46:31I'm probably a little more optimistic that maybe Kyler could figure it out in Minnesota and be that next great reclamation project. But I realize that
46:36there could be a short leash and things could go south. So, if I'm taking Kyler, I would want another quarterback. And I
46:41feel like Baker at the price and the upside, man, I do prefer Baker over Love, over Shuck, over Shout over Darnold and some of these other guys.
46:49>> Yeah. And and Kyler is interesting, but I I'm in on Kyler because I think there's negatives, right? I do. I like
46:55his marriage in the Kevin O'Connell scheme I think is an interesting fit because this is a guy that hasn't thrown in rhythm over the middle of the field
47:02like at all at any point of his career.
47:04And you know I I hate to to like just say he's too small but like there is a kind of a correlary in this era where
47:10defenses are playing more shell coverage. Teams are throwing you to throw short and over the middle of the field now. That's like way defenses are
47:17designed and like that's it's hard. It's been a bugaboo for Kyler because he's small. He's a small guy and so, you
47:24know, Kevin Okonnell's always run like an under center passing game. A big hindrance for him last year was, you know, JJ McCarthy being able to play uh
47:32on time over the middle of the field as well. And this was a guy that played in like a run first college offense like
47:36had those issues in the NFL. So, those are question marks, but I think Kyler is priced at a point where if you he fails,
47:43you just throw him back. It's fine.
47:45Like, he's not costing you a lot here.
47:48Uh, and then the pros are really high.
47:49Obviously, he's attached to Justin Jefferson. They have our number one ranked passing schedule of the season.
47:55The fantasy playoffs, if you get there with Kyler, he faces the Lions, the Commanders, and the Jets. Like, if you're there, like that's like you feel
48:02really good about that if he's still playing at that point and he he was that good enough to get to that point of the
48:06year. So, like I understand the negatives and I've written a lot about the the negatives about him, but I think if he's still priced in this range, that
48:14is completely palatable to just not care really about the tearowns because if you get him, you just move on to the Baker
48:19or the Jordan Love or the other guy that's available in your one QB league, whether it be Tyler Shuck or Malik
48:24Willis. Uh he's his prices, I think, has a lot of that priced in right now.
48:29>> And this the running backs again guys, pick 143 on sleeper right now, pick 157 on ESPN, that's basically free. Like
48:35we're going to be talking about like Brilan Allen, Cooper Cuff, just guys who you're never going to be feeling good about. Love that shout on Kyler. Last
48:42few questions. Reapses. Give me a meaningful take about one of these following guys. The floor is yours. Cam Ward, Daniel Jones, Bryce Yarn. Can be
48:49good or bad.
48:50>> Oh boy. Yeah, that's I'm I'm terrified of the Colts this year.
48:55>> Uh in general. Well, is because last time we saw the he's not not only had an Achilles injury, he had the the right
49:02foot Achilles the plant leg and you know, especially because you just gave a zillion dollars to Alec Pierce who is kind of only one at this point like on
49:11vertically and outside and if like that's hindering Daniel Jones's throws because there's a trickle down here, right, with with the Colts. Like if
49:17Daniel Jones isn't playing as well as he was at the start of last year, like that also ties into like Jonathan
49:24Taylor being a first round pick. Like we've seen it like it Jonathan Taylor has been the most like volatile running back in terms of is his team winning or
49:32losing and what are you getting for fantasy in those games and he's the number one running back in his career in
49:37points scored per game and PPR points too not even like half point PPR games like in points per game in wins and then
49:43he's RB15 in losses since he entered the NFL. Last year he averaged 32 points per game in Colts wins. Uh, and even if you
49:52remove all the games that Daniel Jones um missed, in the four games that Daniel Jones lost, he was the RB20 or lower in
49:59all those games, too. So, like he like Jonathan Taylor is very contingent on Daniel Jones playing well. Like if Daniel Jones doesn't play well, I feel
50:06like this is a complete house of cards like for the like a lot of people for fantasy football. [laughter] Like Alec
50:12Pierce is going down to the ship.
50:13Jonathan Taylor could be going down for the ship. Maybe Josh DS lives because that's just like he's getting the short the shorter game and Tyler Warren can
50:21survive that way. But >> it's very scary, man. Cam Ward would just be like you just trying to say like uh you know the the Caleb Williams
50:29effect, right? It's very his rookie year was very adjacent to Caleb Williams.
50:33Took a ton of sacks, ton of negative plays, had a terrible offensive line. Uh coach got fired middle of the season.
50:40All these things have been improve improved except for maybe your interior offensive line, but you get Carnell Tate with pick four. You add Wando Robinson
50:48and I'm not gonna try to tell anyone that like Wando Robinson's some world beating player. It's an it's an upgrade of a player and it's a player I think
50:56it's going to help them on third downs because one of the areas that Gam Ward really struggled was you know uh you
51:01know the converting third downs on those third downs. So he definitely helps him there because Wando Robinson has been top five each of the past years in third
51:07down target share. So, he's he's a guy where it's like, "All right, this could be a jump like a Caleb Williams." Like,
51:13I don't think Cam Ward makes a jump to like win you leagues, but I think if like you're in super flex leagues and
51:17two QB leagues, he's a guy that represents a lot of value at the bottom.
51:22I will say if you want anything on on Bryce Young, >> Matt, it won't be my pitch. I'll just promote Matt Harmon's pitch that I did a
51:29show with him is that he believes that the transition from Dave Canal to Bradzik and the Jaylen Coker extension, you know, you're a big cokehead.
51:38>> Uh, you know, adding Chris Brazzle that they're finally going to just like play spread offense and not in these condensed sets that have like cuz Bryce
51:45Young just not you he's not meant to be played in these condensed sets. the only time he's given us anything over his
51:51rookie contract to kind of when they have to like open things up and play like he did kind of in college a little
51:56bit. So that's what you're hoping has you you have happened there.
52:02>> Man, I'd love to see it work out. NFL is more fun with more good quarterbacks.
52:05It's just been such a freaking slo trying to get even 3,000 passing yards with Bryce.
52:10>> He threw for 200 yards four times last year.
52:13>> God, it's so bad. And again, it's one of those things where same thing with Camboard and Cam Ward's, you know, only
52:18rookie year, even worse surrounding cast and everything, but >> guys, like you see the videos I put on Twitter, it's two minutes of highlights.
52:25All right, you can do that with every quarterback. All right, you can build your own propaganda for these guys. And look, Bryce Young and Cam Ward are top
52:3230 quarterbacks on this planet. All right, you're going to have great moments, but when every single stat we care about, Reeves tells us that they're
52:39really bad, I have a hard time completely turning away from that.
52:43>> Yeah, absolutely. I I mean at least like I will say the highs of Cam Ward still like it's like the Caleb effect, right?
52:49Because Caleb still statistically had like a lot of issues in year two. He just made he made a lot of growth and
52:53you're hoping there's just continued growth, right? Like that's just what you're looking for Cam Ward now is to show us that like
52:59>> he can get out of the basement and into like maybe the [laughter] just like middle of the pack at some of this
53:04stuff.
53:05>> You got some uh dynasty squads out there, Reeves. have a handful myself and I am lucky enough I mean kind of lucky
53:11you know he's QB2 or whatever but I had Malik Willis on almost all my dynasty teams because last year at a certain
53:16point I was just like all right he's hitting free agency he has shown some good things maybe we'll find a way to
53:21get it back happened to happen don't ask me about all my other takes you know but we hit one at least so do you think
53:26there is a Malik Willis type of backup quarterback this year that actually could all of a sudden be in the conversation as this top 20 fantasy
53:34signal caller in 2027 and why isn't Richardson. [laughter] >> Yeah, he would be the one for fantasy football. You'd at least have to keep
53:41the lights on, right? Like you'd at least have to keep the lights on for him. Uh just because of the like the
53:47same thing like Malik Willis, right? Cuz Malik Willis when he went to the Green Bay Packers one, he had no draft
53:52capital. So like you really thought it was Dunzo. Like you were like, "Oh, this is a third round pick. They've already
53:57moved on. Like this is over. Over." Like and he was able to reclaim himself. Like Anthony Richardson is still gigantically big and fast as a human being and and I
54:08guarantee you the Colts weren't the only team that was going to probably overdraft him. So I guarantee you the most athletic quarterback ever like with
54:16using the relative athletic scor and stuff like that's what we're dealing with. Not just pretty big and fast like the biggest and fastest. So, I do
54:22guarantee if he's available on the open market, there's going to be someone that is going to say, "Yes, I can do
54:29something with this or make this happen and he will have another lifeline." I do think just think his passing though is
54:34is such a detriment that like >> Yeah, it's his passing just is so rough.
54:39Like it's Tim T he's like he like his his like comps of like all things like he should it's like literally like he
54:45looks like Tim Tibo. Like it's like a >> But it's just so terrible. It's only 24, but God, for a guy we're coming out of
54:51Florida, the whole calling card was like he just needs more reps. Uh hasn't been able to get that freaking just breaking
54:57his orbital with the band stretching last year. Like my god, what a freaking ridiculous first three years, too. The Anthony Richardson experience. We got M.
55:06Jones out there as well.
55:08>> All the other I think there's all those bad guys. I mean, the two Steelers guys, like I mean, if you're in dynasty
55:12leagues, >> I think you at least still have to wait and see what happens with Drew Aller and Will Howard. Like you still have to at
55:18least like have the lights at the sea.
55:20Even JJ McCarthy, I mean you ha you have to see. So I guarantee you JJ McCarthy there the Vikings weren't the only team
55:26that was that thought they had something with JJ McCarthy. So if he is to become available, I guarantee you there will be
55:32someone to say like, "Hey, we had a high grade on him. We can make this happen.
55:36We'll give him another shot here, too."
55:38So I mean, that's how you have to play a dynasty, right? Um with this with these guys. And who knows? I guarantee you we
55:44see Carson Beck start games this year.
55:46I've feel [clears throat] pretty good about Clay Kugnik starting at some point. I just don't think the Jets will win enough games and they have a very
55:52late buy this year. So there's like a clear onboarding where like they could just give Kubnik like the final month of
55:57the year which is scary for like our managed league bags if like you have Bree Hall and Garrett Wilson like at
56:02that point of the year. Um and I do think >> it back.
56:06>> Yeah. And I think Gino's going to actually be fine in terms of like keeping all those guys afloat. just if
56:11they're staring down the gun barrel of having, you know, to look at this 2027 QB class, they at least have to see what
56:17Kubnik offers. Like they at least have to. So that's why I say at the end of the year, them have both those teams
56:23having the late buys is actually problematic, I think, for for fantasy gamers.
56:28>> Yeah. Because it gives them just that easy transition to go ahead and move the other guy up.
56:32>> Yeah. Because I mean, Gino and Jacobe could do what at least Jacobe did last year, but that team was one and nine.
56:37They were already on their back. Like if if Jacobe and Kyler's roles were reversed, they probably would have just gone to Kyler at some point later in the
56:43season because of how bad the team was doing while Jacobe was under center. I have a uh secret. No one aired this out,
56:50but I still believe in Will Levis, man.
56:53>> Oh, nice. Hey, hey, there's another wild. I would say Will Levis represents it maybe more than Anthony Richardson.
57:00At least more hope because he all while being a bad passer, it does not quite Tim TBO level of bad passing.
57:08God, just I was re-watching some of his just like more batshit crazy moments trying to hurdle dudes in the middle of
57:13the field like lowering his head like just welcoming later career CTE to Jaylen Ramsay in that Wild Dolphins game. Will Levis guys, I know the really
57:22bad memes were out there, but there were actually some high highs. Would be fun to see him get another situation. Last
57:27backup that I've been looking at was Tanner McKe. I'm just so confused what the Eagles are doing. I feel like a
57:32trade needs to come because they when they brought in Andy Dalton, I just assumed that was going to mean they were
57:37going to trade McKe. Hasn't been the case yet. And then they brought in Cole Payton to be their developmental guy.
57:41Like I don't think they're going to carry four quarterbacks. Do you have any level of read of what's going on there?
57:46>> Yeah, me neither. The Indie uh the Yeah, the the the trade for Cole or the the trade for Andy Dalton paired with the
57:53Cole Payton uh was very just it's very weird. And to be fair to the Eagles, like they the way they draft, they might
57:59have just had Cole Payton high on their board because like they just will always grab value when they see it. Yeah. So
58:04maybe that was just a who cares like we're going to take the best player available. But >> another player we didn't even really
58:09talk about Herz really. But he's a he's also it feels odd to have a guy that's been to two Super Bowls at this point in
58:14his career and win one and that kind of have like be like a fulcrum point of his career too. Yeah. Um, you know, like
58:23>> because what kind of real restrictions is there paired on like these offensive coordinators that they keep, you know, cycling through every year? Like how
58:30much is it? Do we start to look now at the common denominator, right, of why the offense isn't making, you know,
58:37growth and doing some of these things.
58:39Uh, yeah, that's Jaylen Hurt's a very intriguing guy, too. Um, this year, the new new play caller. Again, we don't really know what Shawn Manny is going to
58:46bring to the table. Still has a lot of surrounding talent. like is he going to run more? Um but yeah, another
58:52interesting guy.
58:53>> And look, Herz has been incredible in two Super Bowls. I just think when you win a Super Bowl, all the mainstream and
58:58you know, real football media, if you will, they got to do that. Well, is he actually a top five quarterback? And no,
59:03Jaylen Herz is not a top five real life quarterback. That doesn't mean he's a bottom five quarterback, guys. He has done some really good things in his
59:09career. But I hear you, man. I remember I think I sent out a tweet one time saying like Bryce Young and lowkey
59:13Jaylen hurts two of these quarterbacks in pretty big make orb breakak years because I don't think it would surprise people if we did see this Eagles team
59:20struggle let's say they go six and 11 which I I don't think they'll do that but if it happened Nick Serriani I feel
59:26like even though he got that Super Bowl doesn't have the longest leash of any NFL coach out there so again you kind of
59:31mentioned with Lamar like he got the benefit of the doubt they changed coaches and everything it's still Lamar Jackson okay he's our guy but if you are
59:37getting that changing head coach at least a question to wonder about with Jaylen Herz Reeves. We covered a bunch of player takes. I love it. I love you.
59:46That said, you're going into a general draft. Over the years, what has been your overall strategy that you've done more times than not at quarterback,
59:54whether it is the late round method, whether it's more of a middle round, you know, go get your guy, and do you
59:58anticipate continuing to do that in 2026?
60:01>> Yeah, 100%. I've always been someone that tends to wait and just like where's the lowest starting quarterback that I feel confident to start the year with
60:09and using that as a firewall and then just seeing if someone slides, right? So like this year the guy I'm waiting to
60:15see if I can catch at value is Justin Herbert like we talked about. If someone else in my league is also really high on
60:20Mike McDaniel going to the Chargers and they take Justin Herbert, so be it. I have a backup plan. Uh, and like I said,
60:25like then we're looking at guys like Brock Pury and like Jared Goff and then you if you go really down the line like
60:30we brought up Baker Mayfield, just guys I think are undervalued Kyler Murray too, right? Like at that point where it's like I can open the year with these
60:36guys and if they're bad it didn't really cost me much and in one quarterback leagues I'm always going to have you're
60:42always going to have options particularly when it comes to pocket passers that are going to be available that you can at least get back in the
60:48stream with and you can play matchups with. I don't foresee it really changing this year and it's just because like I
60:52brought up uh earlier like that pocket of wide receivers like that wide receiver like 18 to 20 range where we know this year you got to get on board.
61:00If you want running backs you better get on them early because they're going to be gone. And then really wanting to
61:05hammer wide receivers in like that wide receiver like three or that round three to seven range. I just want to be adding
61:10a lot of wide receivers. That's the part I feel like is the strongest. I want to add a bunch of those guys in my rosters
61:15because there'll be misses too. So I want to have more bites at the apple.
61:18Uh, so then we're coming back and we're taking those quarterbacks right around there. So that's where I foresee myself trying to play it this year is basically
61:24through like Herbert, Brock Perie, uh, Jared Goff, then Baker Mayfield, Kyler.
61:29>> Love it. Think we're on the same page.
61:31What could go wrong there? For superflex formats personally, what I've kind of evolved to over the years, uh, every now and [laughter] then you try to weigh its
61:39position, you end up with freaking three dudes that you don't even want to show anyone, you know, your fantasy team at
61:44that point in time. So, what I've kind of tried to do is in round one, look, if I can get my Lamar, Josh, Daniels, May,
61:52Herbert even, okay, and then maybe spend round two, spend round three waiting and don't cuz what you talked about earlier were like, well, if you take Lamar and
62:02then four rounds go past four, the other guy happens. The worst thing is in superflex when you take the round two
62:08quarterback and you just watch pick after pick after pick and no one else is taking a quarterback. So, how do you
62:12kind of try to generally handle superflex drafts?
62:16>> The first thing I always tell everyone when I get a superflex question is you know your league better than I do. Like
62:20the people you've been drafting with.
62:22So, like you probably have a good gauge of like, hey, this guy always will take two quarterbacks early like you know
62:28this this gamer will always wait on QB.
62:31So, you'll always have a better pulse of like when those like mid-rangy QBs come off the board because in some superflex
62:36leagues like you said they won't like once the top tier's gone like teams will wait. Um, I always tell the people this
62:42though, the best top down advice I would be is like if you don't have a a high-end pick in your draft and you
62:48don't get like a Josh Allen, like one of those tier one guys, and you pick at the the the back third, you don't want to be
62:55chasing the same roster construction those other teams that picked ahead of you did because they're already ahead of you at the position. So, like, you're
63:02not going to flag down the Josh Allen drafter by taking Dak Prescott at pick 10, right? Like, you're just not. So
63:10that's when you pivot, I think, is if you're picking at the back and you got to you have to build your team in a
63:16different way because it's the only way you're going to be able to combat them is to get leverage of saying like, "All
63:20right, well now I'm going to get backtoback running backs, right, while they're while they took their quarterback because I can't let them
63:26have one of these running backs back to them. Can't let them have Josh Allen and you know, one of these guys." So you
63:32have to have a different roster construction. You can't chase the roster construction that other teams have already had a head up on you building.
63:38So, that's the biggest advice I give to gamers because a lot of times people will be picking at like 9, 10, 11, 12 in
63:43these superflex leagues and they'll be like, "Oh my god, six quarterbacks went like I have to get one. I have to get
63:47one or um don't because you're just going to be chasing." And I understand it's not comfortable like you said like you might end up, you know, having three
63:55guys that you don't feel the most comfortable with, but your other strength of your roster is going to be better than those teams that you have to
64:00hope that that that works out. The other thing too I'll say is you can also come back and usually get those mid-range
64:05guys if you do know your league. like all those guys that we talked about, you might be able to do two running backs
64:09that you feel really strongly about cuz they're going to go lower in these leagues inherently >> and be able to come back and and double
64:15tap from those spots at those turns and you might be able to do like Pertie plus Goff or Pertie plus Kyler and those
64:20things and now you've got two great running backs and you still have solid quarterback play, but don't get caught into the title wave. Like I said, the
64:27rip tide. Don't get pulled in there by the under the underweight will get you, man.
64:32>> Firewall rip tide. Absolutely love some of these analogies, Reeves. So, great stuff all around, man. However, did want to end things. We're done talking
64:39quarterbacks, but I'm not done talking to you because I don't know if everyone knows this, but you are a criticallyowned, formerly highly ranked
64:46Madden player. I know you are on the sticks as much these days, but you have given me some stories, man, about going
64:51to B-Dubz back in the day over on Ohio State campus and just taking dudes down.
64:55So, talk a little bit about the Madden career, man. Then, if you have like a funny story from back in the day you
65:00want to share, go right ahead.
65:01>> Yes. largely before like all the online gaming and now it's funny is if you try to play like Madden online like you
65:06better be like caught up with the the meta right like people have basically they break the game you break the game
65:11and you you know you better be running the meta offense and you better be finding like what route combinations you can put on the field to blow past these
65:17coverages that the you know Madden doesn't know how to set properly but yeah early in my you know post high school 2000 days and we were doing dumb
65:25dumb [ __ ] in college I used to travel around and play in the Madden Bowls and then we had a local place. I I lived in
65:32Columbus, which is where you are now, and there was a B-Dubz and High. She used to run Madden tournaments every night, and they used to run prize. They
65:38used to show up and play as NFL Europe teams and just like beat the [ __ ] out of people and like just get the prizes and
65:44like, you know, >> echo team or whatever.
65:47>> But yeah, used to travel the the Madden Bowl used to be great because it used to travel around each city to city and they
65:52would be in the actual NFL stadiums is where they would do the Madden Bowls.
65:56So, like, you know, being in Ohio obviously is great because you have the two teams. You know, you go you got to
66:01go to Cleveland, you got to go to Cincinnati, but you're close enough to get to Detroit, you're close enough to get to Philadelphia, uh, and go to these
66:07other cities, Chicago if you want, and go participate. So, I used to travel all around and play in these tournaments, have buddies, and, uh, yeah, it was a
66:13lot of fun, man. Now, now, I mean, my son's better than me now. Like, I just don't have the time and the the to put
66:19into like the meta and play as as many hours as it takes to be like awesome and lab some stuff. But, uh, fun times. And
66:25I always look back on that and say like, "Hey, that was that was really good."
66:28Man, >> I was watching Rounders the other night, you know, old poker movie with Ed Norton and Matt Damon, and I'm just imagining
66:34you not not finding like CD poker games to go make some money, but just absolutely making life miserable for some 18-year-olds trying to play some
66:41Madden. So, amazing stuff, Reeves.
66:42Again, you're over at sharpootanalysis.com.
66:45You, Warren Sharp, just holding down the freaking advanced analytics for real life and fantasy football industries.
66:50What do you guys got going on over there right now? Well, I this week I'm back after Fourth of July, so it's all
66:55downhill. I'm doing a different series for the draft kit every single week till up until kickoff. My first thing I lead
67:00off always is like all of my big player tiers. I had running backs go up. You can check that out at the site. It's
67:06literally just like a one-stop shop like player almanac, like the deepest dive.
67:09So, if we didn't talk about one of a quarterback that you wish you had my opinion on or go check out that stuff on
67:15the site, if anyone's listening to this still at this point and they want to throw a little promo code, you can do
67:19fantasy 10 and take uh, you know, 10 10% off anything at the site there.
67:24>> Of course, Reeves, you've been writing the worksheet for a freaking decade at this point. Every single player, every single week,
67:30>> what a grinder. So, appreciate you, Reeves. Again, Lord Reeves, you guys already know who he freaking is, but if not, you do now. One of the best there
67:37is at balls. So appreciate you guys tuning in as always for Mr. Reeves. I'm Ian.
