Brenton Strange is excluded from Hartitz's 2026 sleeper consideration due to excessive target competition in a meh-to-good offense. However, Strange is noted as one of only two options (alongside Hunter Henry and Oronde Gadsden) in passing games that profile as strong contenders to really go crazy. While Strange could still supply top-12 numbers and represent solid value at his cost, Hartitz is focused on big-game hunting for league-winning upside, and the target competition limits his sleeper appeal.

Strange finished 2025 on a high note, averaging five targets and 48 yards with three touchdowns over the last seven games. The Jaguars added blocking tight end Nate Boerkircher in the draft, so Strange should be freed up to run more routes. Trevor Lawrence has proven to be at his best when throwing to the middle of the field, and Coach Liam Coen seemed very aware of Lawrence's strengths during the second half of last season. Drafting Strange near TE20 could result in a borderline TE1 season as the deep sleeper with a coaching staff that appears ready to unleash him as a pass catcher.
