1) Still love this 2022 class of WRs. So many awesome players. 2) Love the idea of Year 5 being the peak of their powers for WRs and this class in their 4th season were a real good example case for this. I would argue that several guys like Pickens, Olave, Pierce, London, Doubs, Watson and probably more were easily the best versions of themselves in isolation in Year 4. Matt Harmon identifies George Pickens as a contested catch receiver whose training camp performance actually translates to NFL games, contrasting him with other padded-practice standouts. Pickens is one of the rare players who gets rave reviews in training camp and delivers on that promise in actual games, suggesting his hype is justified rather than inflated. Pickens finished the 2024 season fifth overall in fantasy points per game, establishing him as a recent example of elite receiver production and serving as a benchmark for the type of breakout season Harmon evaluates in other candidates.

Matt Harmon views George Pickens as overpriced in the second round (ADP 23-24 on DraftKings) and a bust risk. His WR5 finish last year was inflated by games when CeeDee Lamb was unavailable; with Lamb healthy, Pickens' target share will decline. Additionally, there is meaningful roster uncertainty with Dallas—better than 50% but maybe 60% chance nothing happens and he stays—but the Cowboys have a history of contract drama and Pickens likely wants to be paid now, creating risk of trade or holdout. Harmon would be interested in Pickens at the end of the third round but not at current second-round prices, where Nico Collins, Chris Olave, and DeVonta Smith offer better upside. If everything aligns, Pickens has top-12 upside but is probably one of the safer picks as a 17-game WR2, with a lower ceiling than Collins' top-five projection.
