NegativeRoleOct 30, 2026
Coleman returned from IR to post an RB35 on RB37 finish as a contributor in a frustrating 3-RB committee. He played the most snaps in the fourth quarter while up 14 points, but in the first three quarters had only 15 snaps to J.K. Dobbins' 13 and RJ Harvey's 12. Winks notes Coleman is not an above-average athlete or powerful rusher and overthought some runs, though he did find some hidden yards. Winks would be surprised if Coleman Wally Pipps Dobbins off this outing and views him as a bench stash only, one that other fantasy fans like far more than he does.
NegativeRoleOct 27, 2026
The Broncos are in three-RB committee hell with rookie Jonah Coleman emerging from IR with a real role. In Week 7, Coleman stole the second half from starter J.K. Dobbins; through three quarters, snaps were Coleman (15), Dobbins (13), and RJ Harvey (12). Coleman caught a couple of checkdowns while splitting late-down snaps with Harvey. His carries were up-and-down; he is not an above-average athlete or powerful rusher and overthought some runs, but he did find some hidden yards. It was a passable but not needle-moving performance. The source would be surprised if Coleman 'Wally-Pipps' Dobbins off this outing and expects it will likely take some time barring injury. Coleman is a bench stash only.
PositiveProjectionOct 26, 2026
Coleman led the Broncos' backfield in his first game back off injured reserve, playing nearly half the snaps while RJ Harvey and J.K. Dobbins shared the other half. He led the team in scrimmage yards (69), touches (11), and routes run (11). Sean Payton expressed a clear desire to get the fourth-rounder even more touches moving forward. Despite a three-man committee, Coleman is valued as a possible low-end RB2 with upside, and the Broncos have one of the five easiest fantasy schedules for RBs the rest of the way. He remains available in 65% of leagues.
PositiveSleeperOct 14, 2026
Coleman, currently on IR with an ankle injury, has been labeled as the direct handcuff to J.K. Dobbins going back to training camp. Sean Payton clearly wants Dobbins to be the lead back despite Dobbins averaging just 3.5 yards per carry this season and admitting he's not currently 100 percent healthy. RJ Harvey has not established himself as a threat. If Dobbins were to miss time, Coleman would likely find himself in a decent-sized role, particularly at the goal line. The Broncos have one of the easiest remaining schedules for fantasy running backs, making Coleman a good insurance policy to hold onto. He is eligible to return in Week 7.

Coleman, Denver's fourth-round pick from Washington, topped 1,100 scrimmage yards and double-digit touchdowns in each of his last two college seasons. He has a three-down skill set and excellent frame at 5-foot-8, 220 pounds. Rich Hribar highlighted his potential as Denver's best three-down option over J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey; Eric Froton took him ahead of ADP in the Yahoo experts draft expecting him to eventually take the job. With Dobbins' checkered injury history and Denver's two-year, $16 million investment in Dobbins, Coleman's sleeper potential three rounds later is hard to ignore in a productive offense under Sean Payton, who has historically churned out RB value.
NegativeBreakoutAug 19, 2026
Jonah Coleman is positioned as a breakout candidate despite being an RB3 on the Broncos depth chart behind J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey. Dobbins is an established injury risk with multiple extreme leg injuries, while Harvey has only one productive season and is returning from offseason shoulder surgery. Coleman was the third-best RB in the 2026 NFL Draft and is quickly gaining Sean Payton's trust for both ground and receiving game usage. Denver's offense features the best offensive line in the NFL and has historically given running backs tremendous passing volume, allowing Coleman to produce without needing 70% of RB touches. While not expected in Week 1, Coleman could find his way into fantasy lineups by season's end.
