“McDaniel likes to troll” Sure, but this is a different situation with different RBs than Miami. Achane got spammed touches the last couple years because he was far and away the best back there. And in 2023, there was more of a split in Miami, which happened to work out in a big way for the RBs since the Dolphins were the best offense in the league. This seems like a constant but pretty poor argument for the Chargers, to assume production will be similar to the extreme outlier run game of 202...

Saw a bunch of De’Von Achane discussion here yesterday, here’s my two cents: The negatives: + Losing McDaniel is most likely a pretty big downgrade + Tua checking down constantly was a plus for Achane’s value. + The Dolphins are also slated to be one of the worst offenses in the NFL The positives: + Tua was straight up horrible these last 2 years, so very real chance Willis is just better + He’s an elite receiving back (top 4 among all RBs in TPRR, rec YPG, and % of team yds since 2021) with...

For me, Omarion Hampton just didn’t show enough as a rookie to be going as an early R2 pick. Was mostly inefficient even prior to his injury and the Chargers offense collapsing (outlier game against NYG) albeit on lower volume. Keaton very live to take a lot of the designed touches, screens, outside runs, etc. out of the backfield, and Vidal similarly so for passing downs (preferred in pass pro down stretch of last season). And the expectation of a similar performance of this backfield at lar...

In 2026, they are 15th in implied PPG allowe...

This is where the Keaton Mitchell to De'Von Achane comps also fall completely flat... Achane has been a truly elite receiving back in the NFL these past few years. He's 3rd in target share, 4th in rec YPG, and 8th in YPRR among all RBs w/ 300+ routes run since 2021. Mitchell has 19 career receptions and averages 7.7 rec YPG through 3 seasons on a 12.9% (!) route share, and is pretty clearly not trusted in pass pro. Extremely thin bet for both any real passing downs or goal line work, not real...
