Mendoza's eventual starting role is inevitable, but Cousins remains QB1 for now.

Mendoza's status as the Raiders' eventual starter is described as "a matter of when, not if," but head coach Klint Kubiak confirmed after Sunday's game that Kirk Cousins remains QB1 and Mendoza's job is not at risk. Kubiak made clear from the start of training camp that Cousins was the starter with no competition for the role.
