I think it's entirely possible this was very game-plan specific. Knowing the Texans have two cornerbacks who can cause problems for offenses, getting an athletic advantage such as the one Hunter provides made perfect sense. Ultimately, the Jaguars are a better team when Hunter focuses on defense. But I still think there is no future in a player playing significant snaps on both offense and defense.

Hunter's big game likely game-plan specific; dual-role snaps unsustainable long-term.

Hunter had a big offensive performance in Week 6 against Houston in an overseas game, but the source will not aggressively bid on him despite the strong showing. The source believes the performance was game-plan specific, designed to exploit Houston's cornerback issues, and that the Jaguars are a better team when Hunter focuses on defense. The source is skeptical that playing significant snaps on both offense and defense is sustainable, as every NFL player is already in peak physical form and playing up to 100 snaps per week will wear a player out quickly.
