Footballguys on Matthew Stafford

Stafford's strength vs. Arizona's weak secondary and 25th-ranked pass rush.

Matthew Stafford excels at punishing weak secondaries; Arizona's secondary lacks proven talent and is widely attackable, with top cornerbacks Denzel Burke and Max Melton allowing a combined 107.0 passer rating. The Cardinals' pass rush ranks 25th in pressure rate and threatens no one, making secondary vulnerabilities worse. Arizona has already allowed 6 different pass catchers to record 80-plus yards, including a pair of tight ends, and safety Budda Baker has slipped badly in coverage, creating additional seam vulnerabilities.
