Golden's preseason comp to Watson gains credibility with Love's pass-first shift.

Jason Wood believed Matthew Golden could rival or exceed Christian Watson's value preseason; the Packers made Golden their first first-round receiver since Javon Walker in 2002. Though Golden had a forgettable rookie season and was unfairly discounted in drafts, the team jettisoned Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, creating a thinner target funnel. Jordan Love's transition to a pass-first approach—on pace for 629 attempts after averaging 484 over the last two seasons—should unlock Golden's upside despite limited volume historically constraining both Love's and his receivers' value.
