NFL.com News on J.J. McCarthy

McCarthy's solid debut (252 yards, no INTs) raises Giants' offensive ceiling.

McCarthy led Giants to 27-21 overtime win against Houston Texans in his first start, posting 20-for-28 for 252 yards with no interceptions. He took care of the football and threw with accuracy against a traditionally quality defense. Analysts note his mobility and ability to throw downfield have raised the ceiling for Giants offense, though his floor remains uncertain and he needs to string together multiple good games before being viewed as a difference-maker.
