Yahoo Sports NFL on J.J. McCarthy

McCarthy impresses in first start with 252 yards, clean decision-making.

McCarthy was 'fantastic' in his first start, finishing 20 of 28 for 252 yards while never putting the ball in harm's way. The source highlighted his ability to get the ball downfield with velocity, move around in the pocket, and the threat of his designed run game, which changes the Giants' offense. Head coach John Harbaugh said starting him against the Texans was the 'obvious choice,' and McCarthy 'absolutely made the coach right.'
