STACKED’s take

Positive signalProjection

McCarthy's 10+ yard completions rank second in NFL since Week 6; must sustain performance.

McCarthy played much better than expected in his first start for the Giants, going toe to toe with C.J. Stroud by firing precise passes to Malik Nabers and Malachi Fields; he had five completions of at least 20 yards in Week 7, tied for the most in a game in his career (also had five in Week 6 when he played only the final 11 minutes); his 10 completions of at least 20 yards this season are the second-most in the NFL since Week 6 behind only Caleb Williams (11). However, he must perform consistently to truly repair his reputation.
