It was a complete meltdown for the 3rd-year quarterback, who threw four interceptions on the day. We'll talk about the staff's role in this, but these interceptions were awful decisions and clear misses. You can't reasonably explain any of them, just pure unfiltered poor quarterback play.

Penix's four-interception meltdown (6.2 rating) marks a major regression after strong season play.

The 3rd-year quarterback threw four interceptions in a complete meltdown against Tampa Bay, posting a 6.2 pass rating on 164 yards. The source characterizes all four interceptions as awful decisions and clear misses—pure unfiltered poor quarterback play that cannot be reasonably explained. Despite playing one of the best games of his career previously, Penix's homecoming was a major letdown, and while he has been playing well this season, no one's future is guaranteed.
