Jeanty relegated to backup role with just two carries; Washington led backfield with 23 carries.

Raiders second-year running back Ashton Jeanty played a backup role against the Jets, not receiving his first carry until the second quarter and finishing with just two carries for nine yards and three catches for 64 receiving yards (including a crucial 45-yard screen pass). Rookie fourth-round pick Mike Washington led the backfield with 23 carries for 83 yards. Coach Klint Kubiak stated Jeanty will still be a big part of the offense and that Jeanty's disparaging comments about Jets defenders last week did not play a role in his reduced carries, but this usage pattern warrants monitoring.
