Yahoo Sports NFL on Daniel Jones

Steichen won't commit to Jones as starter after blowout loss; QB position under review.

Jones has served as the Colts' starting quarterback through the first eight weeks of the 2026 season, but Colts coach Shane Steichen declined to commit to him as the starter following a 42-7 Week 8 loss to Jacksonville, saying 'I'm gonna evaluate everything, every position, going forward.' With the team at 2-6, the coaching staff may consider giving backup Anthony Richardson more opportunities to prove himself.
