RotoWire NFL Articles on Justin Jefferson
From the article
Although Justin Jefferson was targeted nine times, we were no longer seeing the schemed-up touches coach Kevin O'Connell is famous for. When the television cameras panned over to Jefferson, even before that drive, you could see the disappointment and frustration on his face.
STACKED’s take
Jefferson's frustration evident despite nine targets; lacking schemed touches vs. weak Lions.
Although Jefferson was targeted nine times against the Lions, the source observed he was no longer seeing the schemed-up touches coach Kevin O'Connell is famous for. When the Vikings had a chance to drive late for a potential victory, Jefferson was not a focal point. The source saw disappointment and frustration on Jefferson's face on camera. He was facing weak Lions cornerbacks with safety Brian Branch out with a concussion—an ideal day to get the ball in his hands quickly—yet it did not happen. The only silver lining is that with the Vikings having lost and Jefferson clearly angry, O'Connell may be forced to push Jefferson back into his proper role, but direct evidence of offensive improvement is needed before the source gives the unit unearned respect in fantasy rankings.
