ArticleChargers-Rams Game Recap: Bolts fall to Rams, fail to find end zone yet again
From the article
The first came in the opening quarter when he stared down tight end Charlie Kolar on a short out route. Instead of letting it rip just before Kolar made his cut, Herbert waited for Rams safety Quentin Lake to start his drive on the route to let it rip. Lake easily undercut the pass and took it back for 45 yards... His second came in the third quarter when he seeming through it straight to cornerback Trent McDuffie who was doing nothing but sitting in his zone and watching Herbert.

Herbert's two INTs show poor decision-making and field vision despite his physical tools.
Herbert's decision-making has deteriorated significantly under Mike McDaniel's offensive scheme. His first interception came when he stared down Charlie Kolar on a short out route and waited for safety Quentin Lake to start his drive before throwing, allowing Lake to undercut the pass for a 45-yard return. His second interception was thrown directly to cornerback Trent McDuffie who was sitting in his zone; while fullback Scott Matlock's blocking may have obscured McDuffie from Herbert's view, the source notes this is inexcusable for a 6'6 quarterback who should have elite field vision.
