From the article

Jahmyr Gibbs had little room to run, while Jared Goff had little time to throw... Early on, the Lions tried running towards the perimeters a fair bit—normally a strength of Gibbs—but because of the Vikings playing so many players close to the line, there was nowhere for him to move... I also think adding Sione Vaki to the running back rotation gave the Lions an extra wrinkle (and a breather for Gibbs too).

Gibbs struggled early against Vikings' blitzes but benefited from second-half adjustments and Vaki rotation.

Gibbs had little room to run in the first half as the Vikings brought heavy blitzes and crashed towards the line of scrimmage, limiting his ability to move laterally on perimeter runs—a normal strength of his. In the second half, Petzing adjusted the run game to attack up the middle, and Gibbs benefited from the addition of Sione Vaki to the rotation, which provided him a breather.
