FantasyPros Articles on Seth McGowan
From the article
Saddled with a poor record and going nowhere fast, the Indianapolis Colts began selling off parts last week, trading OG Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks and DT DeForest Buckner to the 49ers. RB Jonathan Taylor is rumored to be available as well, and if he's dealt, rookie Seth McGowan would become the Colts' No. 1 running back.
STACKED’s take
McGowan could become Colts' lead back if Taylor is traded, but offense's ineptitude limits upside.
The Colts' seventh-round rookie from Kentucky has 37-163-0 rushing and 4-12-0 receiving on five targets. He won a training-camp battle with second-year man DJ Giddens to be Jonathan Taylor's primary backup. McGowan, who just turned 25, has good size at 6-0, 223 pounds and isn't easy to bring down; he clocked a 4.49 at the scouting combine with a 42.5-inch vertical jump. However, the Colts are selling off parts (traded Quenton Nelson to Seahawks and DeForest Buckner to 49ers), and Jonathan Taylor is rumored to be available for trade. If Taylor is dealt, McGowan would become the Colts' No. 1 running back, but the question remains how much fantasy value a lead-back role with the struggling Colts would yield; TD potential might be limited even in a lead role, and the overall ineptitude of the Colts' offense might cap his value.
