Reports heading into the game were that All Pro RB Jonathon Taylor was firmly on the trade block. Taylor still played a ton of snaps, while McGowan continued to back him up. Seth McGowan poised for opportunity if Taylor traded; Cowboys matchup next.

McGowan continued to back up All-Pro RB Jonathon Taylor, who was reportedly firmly on the trade block heading into Week 8. While the Colts' running backs did very little against the Jaguars' strong run defense in a 42-7 loss, McGowan would be set up for a strong matchup in his first start if Taylor is traded or sits out while being shopped around. Week 9 features a favorable Cowboys matchup.
