Taking his spot in the offense has been Mike Washington Jr, who the Raiders took with a 4th round pick in 2026. Washington Jr. is Kubiak's favored back; Jeanty relegated to backup role.

Mike Washington Jr., a 4th-round pick in 2026, has taken over as head coach Klint Kubiak's favored running back. Washington is being used as a bigger, bruising short-yardage back to punctuate the passing offense, receiving the lion's share of carries against the Jets. Jeanty, drafted as a three-down back, is now stuck in an offense that doesn't want or need him, appearing to be a vestige of a bygone era under Kubiak's scheme.
